The Daily Brief
1. White House reportedly plans to punish China for coronavirus pandemic - New York Post
The Trump administration is planning to punish the Chinese Communist Party for its perceived role in the coronavirus pandemic - including possible sanctions and cancellation of US debt, according to a new report. Other potential measures to be taken against Beijing by the Trump administration include the creation of new trade policies, several sources close to the matter told CNN.
"We have to get the economy going again, we have to be careful about how we do this," one unidentified administration official said. "But we will find ways to show the Chinese that their actions are completely reprehensible."

- Father, give the Trump administration strategies on how to move forward with their plans concerning the Chinese. We pray protection from any wicked plans of the Chinese against America.
- Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel. (Proverbs 24:6)
2. Ted Cruz Urges Bill Barr To Investigate Crack Downs On Religious Freedom - Daily Caller
Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz wrote a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr Thursday, asking Barr to investigate public officials cracking down on religious freedom in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. "I urge you to pay specific attention to the growing tendency of local leaders to target communities of faith," Cruz wrote.
The senator's letter comes days after Democratic New York Mayor Bill de Blasio singled out the Jewish community in a tweet, where he threatened to arrest people who were not abiding by social distancing regulations.

- Father, we pray against these tendencies to target communities of faith. We pray Bill Barr will investigate and hold accountable those public officials who are threatening communities.
- Confuse, O Lord, divide their tongues, For I have seen violence and strife in the city. Day and night they go around her upon her walls, And iniquity and mischief are in her midst. Destruction is in her midst; Oppression and deceit do not depart from her streets. (Psalm 55:9-11)
3. The Bill of Rights doesn't go away': Barr says it's time to roll back coronavirus restrictions - Washington Examiner
Attorney General William Barr said that states should being loosening restrictions put in place during the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking during a Twitter question-and-answer session on Friday, Barr reiterated that the government "unquestionably has the right" to "impose reasonable and temporary restrictions" in the face of a health emergency like the coronavirus pandemic.
"But the Bill of Rights doesn't go away during a crisis like this," he explained. "What it does do is it requires that the government justify any restrictions as truly necessary."

- Thank you Father, for an attorney general who is actively involved in the affairs of this great nation. We pray wisdom upon him to know exactly when to intervene, if necessary. We also ask for the governors to walk in honor of the Constitution of the United States of America ,and to govern with understanding.
- "Wisdom rests quietly in the heart of him who has understanding . Righteousness exalts a nation," (Proverbs 14:33a, 34a)
4. Governor closes all roads leading into New Mexico city grappling with coronavirus outbreak - The hill
New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) announced she is putting the city of Gallup on lockdown after a spike in coronavirus cases in the area.
The governor said in a statement that starting Friday at noon she is closing all roads leading into Gallup from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. daily and that vehicles can only have two people maximum. Residents of the city are encouraged to stay in Gallup except for emergency outings and trips essential for health, safety and welfare.
Lujan Grisham decided to take the action under the Riot Control Act after outgoing Gallup Mayor Jackie McKinney and new Mayor Louis Bonaguidi requested she shutter the city in the midst of a sharp rise in cases. McKinley County, where the city is located, has reported 1,027 positive cases of COVID-19 - more than 30 percent of the state's total positive COVID-19 cases.

- Father God, we lift up the state of New Mexico and their governor to you right now, and we ask that you give this governor wisdom when making decisions regarding this virus. We break the powers of this virus in New Mexico and all over the United States in Jesus name.
- "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5)
5. Raucous protest in Huntington Beach demands beaches open, end of stay-at-home order - L.A Times
More than 500 protesters converged on Huntington Beach again Friday to demand stay-at-home rules in California be lifted and to express their displeasure with Gov. Gavin Newsom's directive closing local beaches to slow the spread of coronavirus.
The crowd that descended on the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street was significantly larger than a demonstration at the same site near the Huntington Beach Pier two weeks ago. The raucous protest included people carrying banners that read "All jobs are essential" and "Freedom: We the people." One person had a sign that said "Recall Gavin Newsom."
Parents walked hand-in-hand with children to the now-closed beach, while protesters, some bringing their dogs, arrived on bikes, skateboards and scooters. Several shared their grievances through chants, signs and occasional songs.

- Father God, we ask that you send comfort and strength to the citizens of California. We pray over their government that you will soften their hearts, and they would turn from their evil ways and rule over the people justly.
- " I said to myself, "God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed."
(Ecclesiastes 3:17)
6. Trump administration official says Planned Parenthood will not receive coronavirus relief funding - Washington Examiner
The Trump administration assured anti-abortion advocates this week that coronavirus relief funding will not be going to Planned Parenthood.
"Through the Paycheck Protection Program, President Trump is delivering vital relief to help small businesses keep employees on payroll," a senior administration official said to the Daily Caller.
"It's clear that the abortion industry shouldn't be able to qualify for those funds, which are desperately needed by small businesses," the official added.

- Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.(Psalm 139:16)
7. White House blocks Fauci from testifying before Congress - The Hill
House Democrats seeking Anthony Fauci's testimony on the coronavirus crisis have been rebuffed by the White House, which is blocking the nation's top infectious disease expert from appearing next week on Capitol Hill.
Democrats had invited Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a member of the White House coronavirus task force, to appear Wednesday before an Appropriations subcommittee examining the Trump administration's response to the pandemic, which has killed more than 64,000 people in the United States.
Evan Hollander, a spokesman for the panel, said Friday that Democrats "have been informed by an administration official that the White House has blocked Dr. Fauci from testifying."

- We bind all efforts by the house of representatives to continue to harass the Trump administration with their wasteful and ridiculous investigations. We pray that the American people would see right through these investigations. And we pray that these investigations will fall short and not come to fruition.
- Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I've never done; with every breath they threaten me with violence. (Psalm 27:12)
8. ABC News At It Again: Tara Reade Would Be Second #MeToo Story The Network Was Accused Of Burying - Daily Caller
Tara Reade, who says former Vice President Joe Biden sexually assaulted her in the early 1990s, told the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) she did an interview with ABC five weeks ago about her story.
The interview was ignored for weeks, Reade said. It was finally brought up in a long April 29 article about the allegation.
The article, titled "At women's event, Biden navigates around lingering sexual assault allegation," comes after Reade accused the network of burying her story in an interview with the DCNF. ABC famously caught heat from the public over an accusation that it covered up a story about alleged child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein in August 2019.

- Father God we pray that you would reveal the truth around this situation. Reveal to the American public things that are done and said in secret. If these allegations are true let justice be served in Jesus name.
- "The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will remove from his Kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil." (Matthew 13:41)
9. Navy sends second ship into disputed waters after China claims it scrambled jets to expel U.S. destroyer - Newsweek
The U.S. Navy sailed a second ship through the South China Seas this week, further challenging Beijing's claim to the disputed waters after the People's Liberation Army (PLA) claimed that it expelled the first ship amid escalating tensions over the disputed region and the global pandemic.
The USS Barry carried out the "freedom of navigation operation" on Tuesday, the Navy said in a statement to Newsweek. Their mission was to maintain the "rights, freedoms and lawful uses of the sea recognized in international law."
"Unlawful and sweeping maritime claims in the South China Sea pose an unprecedented threat to the freedom of the seas, including the freedoms of navigation and overflight and the right of innocent passage of all ships," the Navy said.
After the incident, the PLA's Southern Theatre Command, which oversees the disputed region, released a statement on Chinese social media claiming that their forces responded by forcing the USS Barry out of the island chain. The PLA said that ships and aircrafts were sent to "track, monitor, verify, identify and expel" the American warship from Paracel Island. (Read more)
- Father God, as things continue to "heat up" in the South China Sea, we turn to You for help. We ask that Your wisdom would be upon President Trump as he weighs an appropriate response to these reports. In Your name, amen.
- "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5)
10. Gen. Flynn's Attorney: Newly Revealed FBI Notes Show FBI 'Abuse of Authority'; 'Absolutely Appalling' - CNSNews.com
General Michael Flynn's attorney Sidney Powell late Wednesday released handwritten notes, reportedly authored by then-FBI Counter-intelligence Director Bill Priestap, that show "abuse of . . .authority at every turn," as Flynn's attorney put it.
Powell, Flynn's most recent attorney, told Fox News's Sean Hannity Wednesday night, "The documents I've seen so far, in addition to the ones you have in your hands now, are even more stunning. It's just absolutely appalling what these agents and then the Special Counsel operation did to General Flynn. It's abuse of their authority at every turn." (Read more)
- Father God, it is now clear that General Michael Flynn, a true patriot, was totally framed by the enemies of President Trump, and that he will next be exonerated. Thank You, Lord! You ALWAYS uphold the righteous!
- " . . . for the power of the wicked will be broken, but the LORD upholds the righteous."(Psalm 37:17)
11. Worldwide Prayer Event Hopes to Reach 1 Billion People by the End of May- Christian Headlines
Friday marks the beginning of a worldwide prayer event that hopes to reach one billion people with the Gospel. Christians across the globe are encouraged by Go2020 and other prayer and evangelism networks to pray for and share the Gospel with five or more people each day during the month of May.
"It's a call to believers to pick out five people that you know or more that you can pray for during the entire month of May and then witness to them and share Jesus with them." (Read more)
- Father God, we rejoice at the reports of the tremendous global outpouring that took place on yesterday's GO2020 prayer call. Lord God, surely You are now doing mighty, mighty works in our very midst Hallelujah! Amen.
- "Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness."
(Psalm 150:2)

The COVID-19 Call on Monday
Two Guest Speakers:
Sara Ballenger and Delores Purvis
Please join us this Monday as I (Sara) share my own testimony of how the virus tried to strike me, and how I fought it off! This happened at the end of February . . . but I have been hesitant to "go public" with my testimony . . . until now.
At the urging of many of my own friends, I am now ready to share my testimony with all of you. I trust that, as I do so, my words will bring encouragement to all of you out there, as we battle together against the pandemic of the Coronavirus.
We will also welcome our sister and friend, Delores Purvis, on this call, who will share a revelation she received during the Global Day of Repentance this past week.
God is so good to all of us!

Update: Global Day of Repentance
Update: Global Day of Repentance
Thank you all for the amazing outpouring of support we received as we joined with other ministries both here in the States and in the nation of Malawi as we launched the first-ever Global Day of Repentance.
We continue to be truly overwhelmed at the GRACE and the BLESSINGS that our Lord poured out upon all who participated in this time of deep repentance across the globe throughout the day yesterday.
PRAISE THE LORD!
We are still processing the hundreds of messages we received yesterday, and we do plan to share at least some of those words with you on our Monday edition of The Daily Brief.
In the meantime, please note that yesterday was TRULY a time when we witnessed the DRY BONES coming to life, according to Ezekiel 37:1-14. This verse was quickened to many during the day yesterday, including Pastor Edward Mikwamba, who brought forth a teaching on the same passage of Scripture!
For now, we can only pray:
Abba Father God, we PRAISE YOU, O Lord, knowing that You truly released the WIND OF YOUR SPIRIT upon the nations yesterday, breathing LIFE into all of our hearts, filling us again with Your Spirit.
We thank You, Abba Father God, for the OUTPOURING of YOUR SPIRIT upon the nations, as we witnessed Your Hand of Grace upon our lives.
Help us, O Lord, to always come before You in the Spirit of repentance, day by day, that our prayers would then be most pleasing to You, Holy One. We ask this in Your name, amen.
> > > A Song to Honor that Day:
"He Touched Me."
By Bill and Gloria Gaither
To listen to this hymn, go here:
Shackled by a heavy burden
'Neath a load of guilt and shame
Then the hand of Jesus touched me
And now I am no longer the same
[Chorus]
He touched me, oh He touched me
And oh the joy that floods my soul!
Something happened and now I know
He touched me and made me whole
[Verse 2]
Since I met this blessed Savior
Since He's cleansed and made me whole
Oh I will never cease to praise Him (to praise)
I'll shout it while eternity rolls
[Chorus]

Saturday Devotion
"When unfortunate circumstances strike your life, you may feel like you're in shock -- unable to immediately respond to what is happening. You may feel panic and a sense that your life is out of control.
But your life is never out of control when God is by your side. Reach out for His peace today, and it will be waiting.
"When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze."
