1. Pelosi calls House back into session to vote on Postal bill - PBS
Speaker Nancy Pelosi is calling the House back into session over the crisis at the U.S. Postal Service, setting up a political showdown amid growing concerns that the Trump White House is trying to undermine the agency ahead of the election.
Pelosi is cutting short lawmakers' summer recess with a vote expected this Saturday, Aug. 22, on legislation that would prohibit changes at the agency as tensions mount. President Donald Trump's new postmaster general, Louis DeJoy, has sparked nationwide outcry over delays, new prices and cutbacks just as millions of Americans will be trying to vote by mail to avoid polling places during the coronavirus outbreak.
"In a time of a pandemic, the Postal Service is Election Central," Pelosi wrote Sunday in a letter to colleagues, who had been expected to be out of session until September. "Lives, livelihoods and the life of our American Democracy are under threat from the president."
The House Oversight and Reform Committee said it wants to hear from DeJoy and from the chair of the Postal Service board of governors, Robert "Mike" Duncan. With heightened scrutiny of its operations, the Postal Service is requesting a temporary preelection rate increase, from mid-October through Christmas, although not for first-class letters.
The agency did not immediately respond to requests for comment about whether the two men would appear before the House committee. But it said Sunday it would stop removing its distinctive blue mailboxes through mid-November following complaints from customers and members of Congress that the collection boxes were being taken away.
"Given the recent customer concerns the Postal Service will postpone removing boxes for a period of 90 days while we evaluate our customers' concerns," Postal Service spokeswoman Kimberly Frum said. (Read more)

Focus on Israel
1. Saudi FM says no ties with Israel until peace with Palestinians - Jerusalem Post
Saudi Arabia maintains its policy of not making ties with Israel official until there is peace with the Palestinians, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said on Wednesday.
Bin Farhan's remarks were the first comments from a Saudi official on Israel and the UAE's normalization agreement announced last week.
"Saudi Arabia affirms its commitment to peace as a strategic option based on the Arab Peace Initiatives," he said.
The Arab Peace Initiative involves a full Israeli withdrawal to pre-1967 lines, including dividing Jerusalem. It also calls for all Palestinian refugees of the 1948 War of Independence and their descendants, of which the UN says there are about five million, to be granted the right of return. The plan, also known as the Saudi Initiative, offers Israel peace and normalization with Arab states in exchange for accepting it.
2. Reported deal to sell UAE F-35 jets edges in on US promise of Israeli dominance - Times of Israel
The already crowded and dangerous skies above the Middle East appear poised to host even more advanced aircraft after the United States reportedly agreed to sell F-35 fighter jets and unmanned aerial vehicles to the United Arab Emirates, a move that Washington had apparently shied from due to concerns about maintaining Israel's "qualitative military edge" in the region.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, which first reported on the deal Tuesday, said the sale of the F-35 and advanced drones, and Israel's dropping of any objections to it, was a condition of the emerging normalization agreement between Jerusalem and Abu Dhabi that was brokered by Washington.
The report came as a shock in Israel, including to Defense Minister Benny Gantz, who'd been kept in the dark about the entire normalization deal.
3. IDF Destroys Hamas Underground Bases - Jerusalem Online
Recently, IDF fighter jets and aircraft attacked underground infrastructure of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip. The attack was carried out in response to the explosion of explosive balloons and arson from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory during the day," an IDF spokesperson said.
The attacks targeted infrastructure located near the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt, the Jerusalem Post reported.
The airstrikes took place just hours after an Egyptian envoy left the Gaza Strip after attempting to prevent an escalation between Hamas and Israel.
Explosions have been reported across the Gaza Strip since last week in response to incendiary balloons being launched into Israel from Gaza.
4. Code Red Sirens in Askelon and Zikim; Netanyahu Considers Possibility of War - Jewish Press
The red Alert alarm was activated Tuesday evening in Ashkelon and Kibbutz Zikim in the Ashkelon Beach Regional Council. The IDF spokesman said one launch from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory was identified.
Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke by telephone with local council heads from the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip Tuesday night and stated: "We have adopted a policy that fires are like rockets. We have been active for the past ten days straight in shelling the infrastructures of Hamas and the terrorist organizations. We have also imposed various sanctions in areas that are important to Hamas.
"I regret that we are also preparing, to the extent necessary, for the possibility of a round or rounds. I hope that we will not get there. We are not willing to accept the use of these means that, by the way, have no justification.
"Hamas will be making a very great mistake if it continues like this. Even now it is receiving an indication of where this will lead. It will certainly remember where it has led and I hope that Islamic Jihad also remembers where it has led.
"We have not spared any measure including - in the event of the development of a campaign - targeted counter-measures, and there is no such restriction today either.
5. Netanyahu to Likud MKs: Act like we're heading to an election - Israel National News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene this weekend a crucial meeting on the question of whether to disband the unity government or try and continue to operate within it for a few more months.
The ministers close to Netanyahu, as well as Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin, are expected to participate in the discussion.Israel Hayom reported that Netanyahu ordered Likud Knesset members and ministers to act as if they were going to elections - and that this is the explanation for his visit to the Mahane Yehuda market today.
According to a survey conducted by Mano Geva in collaboration with the MIdgam Institute and "iPanel" and published earlier this week, the Likud and Yamina are the two largest parties, while Yesh Atid-Telem weakens slightly. On the question of eligibility for prime minister, Bennett gets the highest percentage compared to Lapid and Gantz, and the public believes that the normalization agreement with the United Arab Emirates is considered an achievement of Netanyahu.

1. California wildfires force more evacuations amid record heat and lightning strikes - CNBC
Thousands of people in California are under evacuation orders as dozens of wildfires continued to ravage parts of the state on Wednesday with an unrelenting heatwave and high winds making firefighting conditions difficult.
Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency during evacuations and rolling blackouts and called on the California National Guard to help with relief efforts. Authorities in Sonoma County warned of an "immediate threat to life" from the ongoing fires.
By Wednesday morning, residents in parts of Northern California including Napa and Sonoma Counties, San Mateo and Santa Cruz were under urgent evacuations. The LNU Lightning Complex Fire has burned 32,000 acres in Sonoma, Lake, Napa and Solano Counties and has destroyed some homes.

2. More than 200 charged with federal crimes, 1,000 arrested in Operation Legend, AG Barr announces - Fox News
At least 207 people have been charged with a federal crime, and more than 1,000 arrests have been made in major metropolitan cities since the Department of Justice launched Operation Legend in July, U.S. Attorney General William Barr announced on Wednesday. Nearly 400 firearms have been seized by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Barr launched Operation Legend on July 8 as "a sustained, systematic and coordinated law enforcement initiative in which federal law enforcement agencies work in conjunction with state and local law enforcement officials to fight violent crime," the DOJ said in a release.
It was named in honor of 4-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who was shot and killed while he slept in the early morning of June 29 in Kansas City, Mo. Last week, a Jackson County prosecutor announced second-degree murder charges against his suspected killer, 22-year-old Ryson Ellis, who was being held in Tulsa County Jail.

3. California man pleads guilty to mail-in ballot fraud after voting for dead mother in three elections - Just The News
A California man has pleaded guilty of casting fraudulent mail-in ballots on behalf of his dead mother in three different elections.
The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday that Caesar Peter Abutin pleaded guilty to committing mail-in voting fraud on three instances from 2012 to 2014, each time mailing in a ballot registered to his mother, who died in July 2006.
Abutin was charged last month with one felony count of fraud and one count of fraudulent voting. Abutin fraudulently signed the name of his mother when applying for a vote by mail ballot.
Mail-in voting has become a subject of political discourse ahead of the November presidential election, as President Trump regularly speaks out against it - because of its inefficiencies, and its susceptibility to fraudulently voting schemes, like the case in California.

4. Outsider Laura Loomer wins GOP House primary, gets Trump congrats tweet - Just The News
Political commentator Laura Loomer on Tuesday night succeeded in her outsider bid to win a House GOP primary in Florida, defeating five opponents and getting congratulations from President Trump, whose Mar-a-Lago home is in her district.
Loomer, 27, will now face four-term Democratic Rep. Lois Frankel in the state's Democrat-leaning 21 congressional district, which includes parts of Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Loomer - dubbed "the Republicans' AOC" - emerged late in her primary as a frontrunner largely on strong fundraising and support from bold names Roger Stone, a former Trump adviser, and far-right radio host Alex Jones.
"She's young. She's energetic. She's feisty. She's anti-establishment, and she has an enormous national following, as does AOC, which can help finance a congressional race," Stone said this spring.

5. Democrats' pandemic attacks ignore Trump's 100-plus executive actions - Just The News
Democrats have used their presidential nominating convention to forcefully attack President Trump's leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, yet their narrative has left out the White House's long list of actions against the coronavirus.
Just the News compiled a detailed list of more than 100 significant executive actions taken by the Trump administration to fight the virus since it spread from Wuhan, China, earlier this year. They range from fast-tracking a vaccine through public-private partnerships to sealing the border early on from infected locations.
And last week the White House released a report documenting 78 times the Trump administration used the Defense Production Act since March to fight COVID-19. Yet Michelle Obama said Monday night that "More than 150,000 people have died, and our economy is in shambles because of a virus that this president downplayed for too long."

6. Supreme Court to hear challenge to Obamacare on Nov. 10, a week after Election Day - CNBC
The Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that it will hear arguments in a case challenging the constitutionality of the landmark health care legislation known as Obamacare on Nov. 10, one week after Election Day.
A decision in the case, which could disrupt the health care coverage of tens of millions of Americans, is expected by June of 2021. The announcement comes in the middle of the Democratic National Convention, which has featured criticism of the president's muddled health care promises, and could provide a boost to liberal efforts to target Trump on the issue.
But the move to hear the case after Election Day also pulls the notoriously opaque Supreme Court out of the electoral spotlight somewhat, ensuring that the arguments themselves will not influence November's contest.

7. Trump campaign sues three Iowa counties over absentee mailings - The Hill
The Trump campaign is suing three Iowa counties over their absentee ballot request forms, marking the latest effort to go after states and localities that seek to make it easier to vote by mail this fall.
According to The Associated Press, the campaign is arguing that the mail-in ballot applications for Woodbury, Johnson and Linn county residents violate a directive from Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate (R) that stipulated the forms must be completely blank when they're sent out.
The applications sent by those three counties reportedly had some information filled in for recipients. The counties argue that sending blank applications could disenfranchise voters who do not know their voting pin or driver's license number.

8. Disney Indoctrination: Children's Show Introduces First Bisexual Lead Character - Western Journalism
The Walt Disney Company is bringing bisexuality to its Disney Channel children's cartoons with the recent revelation that the lead character in the animated series "The Owl House" is a 14-year-old Dominican-American girl who is attracted to both women and men, according to CNN.
The announcement came last week on Twitter, when Dana Terrace, creator of the show - which follows Luz's misadventures attempting to learn witchcraft despite a distinct lack of magical ability - addressed romantic involvement between the main character and female friend, Amity Blight, on a previous night's episode.
"In (development) I was very open about my intention to put queer kids in the main cast. I'm a horrible liar so sneaking it in would've been hard," Terrace wrote on Twitter.

9. Austin City Council Slashes Police Funding by $150M, Shifts Portion of Money to Fund Abortion - CBN News
The City of Austin, Texas is doubling down on its stance as a sanctuary city for the abortion industry while simultaneously going woke with plans to defund the police.
The city's 2021 budget, approved unanimously by the all-Democrat Austin City Council on Thursday, cuts $150 million from the Austin Police Department, or roughly a third of their funding. Millions of dollars will be redirected to other public services, and the city council feels that should include subsidizing abortion access.
"Today I hope that the community feels hope," said Councilmember Greg Casar.
The council's move makes Austin the first of Texas' four biggest cities to drastically cut police department funding. The share of the police department budget that was cut is among the largest percentage decreases in the nation this year, according to the Texas Tribune.

Fact checking the Dem Convention
A fact check on some major claims by democrats at the Democratic National Convention reveals that they have a warped, nonfactual, and inaccurate worldview on many things, and they are trying to use fear to garner votes. Nothing new. Your healthcare will be taken away if President Trump is reelected. Tax cuts only benefit the rich. Trump has disgraced the presidency. And just as a touch of the super hero syndrome, did you know that the previous Democratic administration actually eliminated the threat of a nuclear Iran and destroyed ISIS? If the convention had been filled with Pinocchios, it would take years to untangle the extended noses from the lies. Just saying.
Former President Bill Clinton was a featured speaker, in the wake of the release of court documents alleging he was on Jeffrey Epstein's private island, where the sex offender is accused of trafficking underage girls. Also, on Tuesday night, pictures surfaced of one of Epstein's alleged sex trafficking victims giving Clinton a neck massage during a stop in Africa on which Clinton traveled the infamous "Lolita Express." Clinton claimed Trump is disgracing the office because "At a time like this, the Oval Office should be a command center. Instead, it's a storm center. There's only chaos. Just one thing never changes, his determination to deny responsibility and shift the blame." Accusing Trump of doing exactly what Clinton did.
Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden claimed, without evidence, that Republicans voted to "gut" protections for patients with pre-existing conditions. As Breitbart reports: "Verdict: False. Republican legislation to replace Obamacare would not have "gutted" or eliminated pre-existing conditions." Biden claimed that "Trump was trying to rip away your coverage, the day you got your first chemo, Republicans voted to gut the ACA." The fact is neither Trump nor congressional Republicans supported legislation that would remove the Affordable Care Act (ACA) protections for patients with pre-existing conditions. Trump introduced replacing socialist healthcare by saying the goal was to "ensure that Americans with pre-existing conditions have access to coverage."
Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA) claimed that Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act only benefitted the rich. In reality, over 80 percent of families with children received a tax cut, and the child tax credit was doubled. Former Secretary of State John Kerry claimed that Obama-Biden "eliminated the threat of an Iran with a nuclear weapon." This is a lie. Under the Iran nuclear deal, sanctions against Iran were dropped and Iran was sent billions in cash and assets in return for a temporary slowdown in Iran's nuclear weapons development. Kerry also falsely claimed that Obama-Biden eliminated ISIS when, in fact, ISIS gained a stronger foothold when Obama left Iraq. As in Jeremiah 9:5, "And they will deceive every one his neighbor, and will not speak the truth; they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity."

President Trump tunes in to Calif. church after brother's death
. . . hears sermon on Holy Spirit-led prayers
President Donald Trump praised his late younger brother Robert S. Trump as "my biggest fan" Monday, a day after seeking solace for his loss in an online worship service with Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, who preached on the power of prayer.
Robert S. Trump died at the age of 71 in Manhattan on Saturday. In an interview with "Fox and Friends" Monday, President Trump explained that even though he knew his brother's death was imminent it was still tough to deal with when it happened.
"This was not a great weekend. It's very hard. You know it was going to happen but still when it happened it's a very tough thing. He was a great guy. He was a tremendous guy. He was my friend. I guess they say best friend and that's true. And losing him, not easy," Trump said. . .
In his sermon on Sunday, which White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the president watched online, Pastor Rodriguez of New Season Church in California, who is also president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, said the White House called him on Saturday after Robert Trump's passing.
"Yesterday I get this call from the White House and the call was 'Pastor Samuel, we've been looking for you and we've been trying to reach you. Pastor Samuel we want to inform you that the president, the current occupant of the White House, his brother passed away.' And I went 'I am so sorry.' 'Well, Pastor Sam, that's why we're calling you because the president and the First Family would love to be ministered to by you and New Season,'" Rodriguez said during his sermon in which he urged Christians to pray more unconventional prayers in the Holy Spirit.
Pointing to the story of Hannah in the Bible, who was accused of being drunk by the high priest Eli when she prayed in an unusual way for a child, Rodriguez urged the church to pray "crazy" prayers.
"I need your prayer to remove the lid off your faith. I need you to pray like Hannah. I need you to pray where people start questioning your sanity. Don't pray religious prayers. Pray crazy things. What I'm asking God, I refuse to pray for a new season. I'm not asking God to bless our church; I'm asking God to bless every church in America and every church around the world . . .," he said.
"When I pray in the Spirit is when I pray, 'Lord' you know things that I don't know. So I'm going to tap into your presence and I'm going to be a vehicle by which your Spirit will pray through me. Use my mouth. Use my heart, use this mind and pray through me. You need to start praying in the Holy Spirit. We need a church that prays in the Holy Spirit.
"We are living in some very difficult precarious times. We don't need more churches; we need more churches that pray in the Holy Spirit. Pray with the language from Heaven. It's not weird. It makes you wired. It is powerful when you pray in the Holy Spirit, it is powerful when you're filled with the Spirit and you pray in the Spirit . . . When you pray in the Spirit, there is not a demon in Hell or a devil on earth that can grab a hold and try to hold back the heavenly language that activates the fullness of the promises of God." Watch for the Shifting Temperature
There is something shifting over Washington. The Lord says, "Watch for the shifting temperature. Watch for the shifting temperature over Washington DC. Watch for the whirling winds, for the storm."
The Lord says, "It will be a sign - not a sign of destruction, but a sign of cleansing. For even over Washington there has been a demonic storm that has attempted to surface. But," the Lord says, "I shall bring a storm and wipe out the darkness - a contrary wind. The weight of My glory shall come in and rest upon the nation's capital.
"The enemy will cringe in fear. People will fall on their hands and knees in repentance," the Lord says. "For there will be a tent set up, a tent set up where the Presence will come . . . even close to the White House. There shall be a tent of My presence that will release My power, for there shall be a wind that will be contrary to this demonic storm. The wind will usher in the rain."
A Sign: The Rain and the Bow
The Lord says, "Watch for the rain, but the sign will be a rainbow, a rainbow, a rainbow manifesting over the White House. And some will not recognize the sign; they'll think it is something else, but it will be a sign of restoration. It shall be a sign of My promise; the promise of My presence and the restoration.

And the ark, the place of confinement that you thought you were in during this last storm, shall be a release and place where a new day will come. Where the devil came to steal, kill and destroy, God has lifted up a banner, a banner of love over this nation. Thus it shall be manifested in a sign of a rainbow over the White House for all to see - a bow. It will look like a canopy. It will glow . . . the glory of the Lord will be seen.

Lord we ask you to bind the Snake of Deception, the Viper of the Religious Spirit and the Venomous Serpent of the Coronavirus. We ask you Lord to break its global unholy alliance to stop the global outpouring of revival.
Lord, we ask you to cast out the attack of the Snake of Deception, the Viper of the Religious Spirit and the Venomous Serpent of the Coronavirus, in Jesus Name.
We decree Psalm 91:7:- "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you."
Background: On February 25 the Lord showed Doug Addison the root of the Coronavirus and how to break it. I am reaching out to ministries to come into agreement to break this attack. Can you get intercessors praying over this please?The above prayer is how to break it.
The root is a 3 stranded cord attack against revival.
Isaiah 14:29: "Do not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken; from the root of that snake will spring up a viper, its fruit will be a darting, venomous serpent."

California reports first human plague case in 5 years
A California resident has tested positive for plague, marking the state's first human case of the disease in five years, according to health officials.
The case was confirmed on Monday (Aug. 17) in a resident of South Lake Tahoe, according to a statement from the El Dorado County Department of Health and Human Services.
The individual is described as an "avid walker" who may have been bitten by an infected flea while walking their dog in the Tahoe Keys area or along the "Truckee River Corridor" north of Highway 50, the statement said.
"Plague is naturally present in many parts of California, including higher elevation areas of El Dorado County," Dr. Nancy Williams, the El Dorado County public health officer, said in the statement. "It's important that individuals take precautions for themselves and their pets when outdoors, especially while walking, hiking and/or camping in areas where wild rodents are present. Human cases of plague are extremely rare but can be very serious." (Live Science) Read more.

In launching JNF Virtual Travel & Tours, the organization's travel department is offering seats on virtual tour buses to some of Israel's iconic and lesser known travel destinations. Current itineraries include visits to the Old City of Jerusalem, Ayalon Institute, Akko, Be'er Sheva, and the JNF Sderot Indoor Recreation Center.
The virtual buses will include seating for up to 22 participants. Each bus will also include a licensed Israeli tour guide and a professional JNF-USA staff member. A $50 registration fee will cover one hour of touring per day over the weeklong visit taking place Monday through Thursday (4:00 pm - 5:00 pm each day). A nightly social dinner and cocktail hour will be held from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm (in each mainland U.S. time zone).
