Focus on Israel
1. Mike Pompeo: We'll supply UAE with arms without hurting Israeli advantage- Jerusalem Post
The US will find a way to balance helping its military ally the United Arab Emirates without weakening Israel's qualitative military edge (QME), Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem on Monday.
The remarks came amid controversy in Israel over whether Washington will sell F-35 stealth jets to Abu Dhabi, now that Israel and the UAE have diplomatic relations.
"The US has legal requirements with respect to the QME, and we will respect that," Pompeo said. "We have a 20-plus-year security relationship with the UAE as well."
2. Poll: Majority of Americans agree with Israel-UAE deal - JNS
The majority of Americans agree with last week's U.S.-brokered agreement to normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, according to a poll released on Thursday.
At least 54 percent of Americans support the agreement, according to an Economist/YouGov poll.
In the poll, just 10 percent of Americans disapprove of the move, while 36 percent remain unsure.
Additionally, 53 percent of Democrats approve of it, while 12 percent don't and 35 percent are not sure.
3. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Push for Deepening Ties Between Israel and Sudan During Mideast Trip - The Algemeiner
The Secretary of State of the United States, Mike Pompeo, is traveling to the Middle East and Africa starting Sunday, and will meet with Sudanese leaders in order to push for closer relations between Sudan and Israel.
The State Department issued a statement saying that Pompeo will travel to Israel, Sudan, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, including a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, where the two will discuss the Iranian threat.
"In Sudan, the Secretary will meet with Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and Sovereign Council Chair General Abdel Fattah el-Burhan to discuss continued US support for the civilian-led transitional government and express support for deepening the Sudan-Israel relationship," the statement said.
4. Elections avoided day before deadline, Netanyahu accepts compromises - Jerusalem Post
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday announced he will not seek a November election that would have been initiated automatically on Monday night if the budget deadline extension bill had not passed in the Knesset Finance Committee.
The budget deadline extension bill passed its final readings in the Knesset Finance Committee early Monday, clearing the controversial bill for its remaining votes in the plenum later Monday.
The bill extends the deadline from passing the budget from Monday, which is 100 days since the government's formation, by an extra 120 days to December 23.
As part of the negotiations, the committee agreed together with the Finance Minister to add NIS 11 billion to the country's budget.
5. Tel Aviv synagogues to expand to public spaces for High Holy Day prayers - Jerusalem Post
The Tel Aviv Municipality will allow the approximately 450 different synagogues throughout the city to expand into public spaces during the High Holy Days, in order to allow prayer gatherings to take place while still observing social distancing and other Health Ministry regulations.
As part of the effort, which is being done in coordination with Tel Aviv's Religious Council, logistic assistance will be provided in order to provide access to electricity, shade and chairs for worshipers.
In addition, the municipality and Religious Council will provide free shofar-blowing courses, in order to ensure that all of the city's residents are able to partake in the different important religious rituals during the High Holy Days.
Synagogues will be permitted to hold prayer gatherings in public spaces during Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Shemini Atzeret.
The Daily Brief
1. Federal judge issues stay in Trump challenge of mail balloting in Pennsylvania - Reuters
A federal judge on Sunday ordered a stay in President Donald Trump's re-election campaign's lawsuit seeking to ban drop boxes and other changes to Pennsylvania's mail-balloting procedures.
The Nov. 3 election promises to be the nation's largest test of voting by mail and the two major parties are locked in numerous lawsuits that will shape how millions of Americans vote this autumn.
The Republican president has repeatedly and without evidence said that an increase in mail-in ballots would lead to a surge in fraud, although Americans have long voted by mail.
There is perhaps no more consequential lawsuit than the one in Pennsylvania, which Trump won by less than 1 percentage point in 2016 and is considered essential to his re-election effort.
J. Nicholas Ranjan, U.S district judge for western Pennsylvania, said the federal case brought by the Trump campaign would not move forward until similar lawsuits in state courts are completed or unless they are delayed. (Read more)
- Father, we pray for victory for the President in all the court battles before him. We apply the cross of Christ over every single one of them, and declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over all rulings and decisions from this moment forward.
- "In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." (Proverbs 3:6)
2. Pro-life groups laud Trump ethics board for rejecting fetal tissue research proposals - Christian Post
Pro-life groups praised the Trump administration this week after a federal ethics advisory board recommended against federal funding of fetal tissue research, saying tiny humans should not be aborted for exploitation.
"We applaud the Trump administration for convening the independent advisory board as established by statute," Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life, said in a statement, referring to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Fetal Tissue Research Advisory Board.
In its report on fetal tissue research, released this week, the board recommended that all but one of the grant proposals for federally-funded medical research using human fetal tissue donated after elective abortions be rejected.
The board was set up by the Trump administration last year to review applications for funding of such research conducted outside of NIH facilities. It recommended withholding federal funding from 13 out of 14 research proposals - through grants or contracts - involving the use of fetal tissue. (Read more)
- Lord, we thank You for this moment of hope for the unborn in America. We pray fervently that You will begin to unravel the selfishness of the pro-abortion agenda. Bring conviction to the souls, and compassion to the hearts of those who have been involved in it.
- "As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting." (2 Corinthians 7:9)
3. Pence to step into spotlight for Trump - The Hill
Vice President Pence has spent the past four years as the dutiful sidekick to a mercurial and controversial president, but this week he will step into the spotlight at a critical moment for the Trump campaign.
Pence will address the Republican National Convention from Fort McHenry in Baltimore on Wednesday night. The theme of the evening is "Land of Heroes," with the vice president likely to pay homage to front-line workers and the country's history, the latter a nod to the campaign's messaging that a Democratic win would fundamentally change the country.
Those close to the campaign acknowledge that Pence does not excite voters in the same way Trump does, or the way Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) may invigorate the Biden campaign. His low-key nature has fueled recurring speculation through Trump's first term that he may ditch Pence for a different running mate.
But as the Republican convention approaches, Trump has made his fondness for Pence clear in public, those close to the campaign overwhelmingly back the vice president, and the former Indiana governor has emerged once again as a key player if the two are to win a second term.
"While a visit from President Trump can dominate coverage for days, Vice President Pence's more tactical and surgical approach is incredibly helpful for us politically, as he can travel from state to state addressing specific issues or coalitions," said Nick Trainer, director of battleground strategy for the Trump campaign. (Read more)
- Lord, we give thanks for Vice President Pence and his way of reaching others. We ask for a mighty anointing of Your power and wisdom upon him as he steps forward not just in the convention but beyond.
- "But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge." (1 John 2:20)
4. White House: Trump opportunity zones raised $75B to rebuild poorest communities - Washington Examiner
The Trump administration's tax break for underprivileged neighborhoods has attracted an estimated $75 billion dollars in private investment, potentially lifting 1 million people out of poverty, according to a White House study. Opportunity zones were created in the tax overhaul of 2017, offering capital gains advantages to investors as a way to encourage new businesses, housing, and jobs. President Trump has hailed their success. But critics say the biggest beneficiaries are billionaire financiers and warn that a small number of the most attractive zones are attracting the bulk of the money.
A study by the White House Council of Economic Advisers, obtained by the Washington Examiner and due to be published on Monday, estimates that $75 billion has been raised by funds set up to invest in the zones - money that would likely have been directed elsewhere without the breaks. (Read more)
- Thank You, Lord, for this money to help the poor communities that have fallen into disrepair. We ask that You spread this news far and wide - to let everyone know that help is coming. We also bind any attempts to cause this money to be used for other things, and declare that by Your Hand it will be spent where it is needed.
"Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed."(Proverbs 19:17)
5. Detroit Absentee Ballot Chaos: 'So Inaccurate We Can't Even Attempt to Make Right' - Breitbart
Wayne County, Michigan, leaders want the Secretary of State to intervene after there was chaos while counting absentee ballots on primary election night. The Detroit News reported:
"Recorded ballot counts in 72% of Detroit's absentee voting precincts didn't match the number of ballots cast, spurring officials in Michigan's largest county to ask the state to investigate ahead of a pivotal presidential election.
Without an explanation from Detroit election workers for the mismatches, the Wayne County Board of Canvassers requested this week for Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson's office to examine the "training and processes" used in Detroit's Aug. 4 primary, which one official described as a "perfect storm" of challenges. The board is charged with certifying election results."
Forty-six percent of all precinct numbers were askew, canvassers were told. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that You will straighten out every election problem all across the nation before November 3. We thank You that this has been seen by authorities and that they will work to rectify it.
- "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.'" (Mark 1:3)
6. WH CoS Meadows: We See U.S. Post Office Saga as 'Russia Hoax 2.0' - Breitbart
Saturday on Fox News Channel's "Watters' World," White House chief of staff Mark Meadows responded to comments alleging malfeasance with regards to the U.S. Postal Service as a means of the Trump administration tampering with the November presidential election. Meadows dismissed those claims, coming from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), as "Russia hoax 2.0."
"When you start to hear what Miss Waters and Miss Pelosi are saying, it's very troubling because we see this as a Russia hoax 2.0," he said. "You know, now it's not the Russians; now, it's the people, the men and women that work at the U.S. Post Office that supposedly are going to slow this down and anybody who knows the hard-working men and women at the Post Office, like the President of the United States does, knows that they're not going to do that. He is not going to do that."
"We're willing to spend the money to make the Post Office great again, and somehow this is one more reason why they believe that they're going to lose in November and chalk it up to some excuse that has nothing to do with casting a ballot on behalf of the American men and women," Meadows added. (Read more)
- Lord, the Democrats have done everything in their power to destroy this President with lies, and twisting of the facts. We apply the cross of Christ over President Trump and his family, and build a hedge of Your Fire around them. We call for the power of Your Holy Spirit for truth to be revealed in a way that blasts the deception and falsehoods away.
- "If anyone stirs up strife, it is not from Me; whoever stirs up strife with you shall fall because of you." (Isaiah 54:15)
7. Police-involved shooting in Wisconsin prompts violent protest: report - Fox News
A police officer-involved shooting on Sunday of a Black man who was shot in the back set off violent protests in the lakefront city of Kenosha,Wis., that have lasted into the early hours Monday.
Many details of the shooting were not immediately clear, but the following unrest prompted the city to issue a curfew until 7 a.m. on Monday and police asked businesses to consider staying closed "due to numerous arm robberies and shots fired calls."
Gov. Tony Evers, a Democrat, issued a statement late Sunday and said Jacob Blake was shot in broad daylight.
"What we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country," he said. Evers promised that there will be accountability.
Kenosha is the latest city to see unrest amid widespread protests after George Floyd died in police custody in May.
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported that police were dispatched on a domestic violence call at about 5:11 p.m. prior to the shooting. The report said that officers administered aid to Blake, who was airlifted to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. (Read more)
- Father, we take authority over the violence across the nation, and pray that Your Angelic Host would stand in the gap for the protection of lives and property of Your people. We rebuke the author of lies and violence and say NO MORE in the mighty name of Jesus and by the power of His Blood! We loose Your Spirit upon Kenosha, Wisconsin to bring revival, and conversion to the souls.
- "Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; preserve me from violent men." (Psalm 140:1)
8. Biden Says He Would 'Shut' The Country 'Down' If Scientists Recommend New Lockdown Measures To Fight Coronavirus - Daily Caller
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said he would shut down the country again if scientists recommend the measure to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Biden made the remarks to ABC's David Muir during a joint ABC News interview Friday with running mate Kamala Harris.
"If you're sworn in come January and we have coronavirus and the flu combining - which many scientists have said is a real possibility - would you be prepared to shut this country down again?" Muir asked. "I would be prepared to do whatever it takes to save lives, because we cannot get the country moving until we control the virus," said Biden. "That is the fundamental flaw of this administration's thinking to begin with. In order to keep the country running and moving and the economy growing and people employed, you have to fix the virus, you have to deal with the virus."
"So if the scientists say 'shut it down?'" asked Muir.
"I would shut it down," Biden responded. "I would listen to the scientists."
The former vice president has also called for a three-month national mask mandate, including outdoors, to fight the spread of coronavirus. (Read more)
- Lord, this horrific idea must not be allowed to come to pass. Viewing the damage of the lockdowns so far has grieved us all. We take authority over this virus, and place the Cross of Christ between the people and ANY dangerous virus, including COVID-19 and the flu, and release the power of God against it. We say NO to any further deceptions and lies that damage the hearts and lives of people.
- "Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases." (Psalm 103:3)
9. US special forces veteran arrested for passing secrets to Russia - BBC
A former US special forces captain has been arrested on charges of espionage, the US Department of Justice says.
Peter Debbins is alleged to have passed classified information to the Russian military intelligence agency (GRU) over a period of more than 10 years.
A DoJ press release says during several visits to Russia in the 2000s he had contact with GRU agents , who knew him by the code name Ikar Lesnikov.
Capt Debbins, 45, faces life imprisonment if convicted. The Gainesville, Virginia, man is charged with conspiring to provide US national defence information to agents of a foreign government.
"Debbins violated his oath as a US Army officer, betrayed the special forces and endangered our country's national security by revealing classified information to Russian intelligence officers, providing details of his unit, and identifying special forces team members for Russian intelligence to try to recruit as a spy," Assistant Attorney General John Demers said.
"Our country put its highest trust in this defendant, and he took that trust and weaponised it against the United States." (Read more)
- Father, we pray for this lost soul who betrayed this nation. We also ask that You remind all military and intelligence officials of their oaths to defend and protect America from enemies both foreign and domestic. Remind them, keep them in line with that oath, and reveal any hidden agendas that may lurk beneath.
- "Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known." (Luke 12:2)
10. NASA: Asteroid headed toward Earth day before November election - The Hill
NASA reported Saturday that an asteroid is headed toward Earth one day before U.S. Election Day this year, though the chances of an impact are less than 1 percent.
Scientists labeled the asteroid 2018VP1, and data reveals its diameter is 0.002 kilometers, or about 6.5 feet, CNN reported.
The celestial object was first discovered at the Palomar Observatory in California in 2018.
NASA data revealed there are three potential impacts, but based on 21 observations over the course of 12.968 days, it determined the chance of impact is 0.41 percent.
The space rock will pass Earth on Nov. 2, on the the eve of Election Day in the United States.
NASA reached back to The Hill, confirming the asteroid expected to pass Earth later this year poses no threat to Earth. (Read more)
- Lord, we praise You that this asteroid will miss the earth. We continue to repent of the sin in our nation, and pray for Your mercy to sustain us.
- "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork."(Psalm 19:1)

Attack dogs on the postman
You may not have known, but the Republican National Convention is being held this week. Leading up to the opening night were ongoing hit pieces as the news media continues to spin President Trump and those who voted for him as terrible people. Reading stories from across the media outlets, there are few, if any, that cast the current presidency in a positive light. They adopted, for example, the Democratic position casting Trump's postal system reforms as politically motivated to frustrate "vote by mail" efforts. They say the president knows he cannot win reelection if people vote by mail. Do they know something we don't? Sure! Every dead person on the voter rolls will be voting by mail. Wait and see.
This vote by mail is so important to the Democrats that they voted in an emergency session to give the Post Office an extra $25 billion and to prohibit any postal reforms until after the election. This against the backdrop of adjourning Congress before passing any additional COVID 19 relief for Americans who have been negatively impacted by the economic effects of coronavirus. Socialist Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), said upon passage of the Post Office bill, "Let it be clear: This administration is waging an authoritarian campaign to sabotage this election by manipulating the Postal Service to suppress our votes . . . this is not a conspiracy theory. This is fascism. We will not stand for this."
There are a lot of problems with Tlaib's statement. There is so much opportunity for fraud with vote by mail, which has been illuminated by ballots missing for months, dead people voting (this also is because Democrats have blocked updating voter rolls with the false argument that updating voter rolls results in voter suppression), and people voting on behalf of those who don't cast their own votes. These are all known tactics of stealing elections. The post offices in Democratic Party-controlled areas have supported these kinds of shenanigans for decades. I have seen it first hand when I discovered the post office in Merifield, VA., had "lost" a "get out the vote" mass mailing by one of my candidate clients. I found bags and bags of them in a corner in the post office. The postmaster threatened to arrest me if I didn't leave.
In that case, I called the Postmaster General in the Reagan Administration and I was not the one who had to leave. I'm just saying that Democrats are more concerned about vote by mail than they are about COVID 19 relief. Yet they will say Trump is killing people by how he is handling COVID 19, AND call him a fascist for foiling their plans to steal the election by mail. But they are accusing him of what they are doing. The media attack dogs are all too happy to weigh in with their leftist opinions disguised as news. In Matthew 24:4, Christ says, "Take heed that no man deceive you." He was speaking to his disciples about the end times. In this example, you must not be deceived or you will be participating in the end times of your rights to freely speak and worship your God.

Laura's death toll mounting in Caribbean as storm sets course toward US
Along its course toward the United States, Tropical Storm Laura has unleashed damaging and deadly impacts across the northern Caribbean. At least 12 deaths have been blamed on Laura, according to AFP, three of which occurred in the Dominican Republic and nine in Haiti.
Laura developed in the Atlantic just a couple of hundred miles east-southeast of the northern Leeward Islands on Friday morning, shattering the record for the earliest "L"-named storm on record in the basin. The previous "L" storm record was held by Luis, which formed on Aug. 29, 1995.
As of early Monday morning, the storm had strengthened slightly near eastern Cuba, with wind speeds of 60 mph and was moving west-northwest at 20 mph.
Tropical storm watches and warnings are in effect from Cuba to the Florida Keys. The National Hurricane Center stated early Monday morning that a hurricane watch would likely be required for portions of the U.S. Gulf Coast by Monday evening.
Puerto Rico was one of the first Caribbean islands to feel the effects of Laura earlier this past weekend. Puerto Rico Gov. Wanda Vázquez declared a state of emergency and warned residents to stay inside as downpours and gusty winds drenched the island early this weekend. Nearly 6 inches of rain fell in some areas, prompting flood warnings. The Rio Guanajibo River near Hormigueros has risen about 6 feet as of Saturday night.
