China is National Security Threat #1 - Wall Street Journal
As Director of National Intelligence, I am entrusted with access to more intelligence than any member of the U.S. government other than the president. I oversee the intelligence agencies, and my office produces the President’s Daily Brief detailing the threats facing the country. If I could communicate one thing to the American people from this unique vantage point, it is that the People’s Republic of China poses the greatest threat to America today, and the greatest threat to democracy and freedom world-wide since World War II.
The intelligence is clear: Beijing intends to dominate the U.S. and the rest of the planet economically, militarily and technologically. Many of China’s major public initiatives and prominent companies offer only a layer of camouflage to the activities of the Chinese Communist Party.
I call its approach of economic espionage “rob, replicate and replace.” China robs U.S. companies of their intellectual property, replicates the technology, and then replaces the U.S. firms in the global marketplace.
Take Sinovel. In 2018 a federal jury found the Chinese wind-turbine manufacturer guilty of stealing trade secrets from American Superconductor . Penalties were imposed but the damage was done. The theft resulted in the U.S. company losing more than $1 billion in shareholder value and cutting 700 jobs. Today Sinovel sells wind turbines world-wide as if it built a legitimate business through ingenuity and hard work rather than theft.

1. 'We won't force vaccine; but here's what we will do' - Israel National News
Although Health Ministry Director Hezy Levy yesterday insisted to reporters that "we won't force people to take a vaccine. Israeli law doesn't allow for it," speaking before the Special Knesset Coronavirus Committee chaired by MK Yifat Shasha-Biton, Sheba Medical Center Chief Medical Officer and Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Eyal Zimlichman listed measures that are being planned to "maneuver" the population into vaccinating as a way of regaining freedom of movement.
The issue of how to "motivate" vaccine compliance has generated increasing interest, with commentators such as Mike Cernovich writing: "Government won’t force you to take vaccine. Amazon will. Airlines will. Banks will. You won’t be able to buy, sell, or trade without the vaccine."
As if underscoring Cernovich's words, Dr. Zimlichman told the committee: "Another thing that will apparently come into our lives, starting in small numbers already in January which is soon, and that's the vaccine.

2. Netanyahu: I won't hesitate to impose new restrictions - Israel National News
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned Sunday that Israel is entering a third wave of the coronavirus, suggesting he may impose new restrictions on public activity to curb the infection rate.
“The vaccines are on their way,” Netanyahu said, “I’m working on it around the clock.”
“But until they get here, and even after they get here, we must lower the infection rate, which is entering a third wave.”
“We can lower it, we’ve proven that. We lower the infection rate and the fatality rate almost to the lowest point of any country in Europe. We did that because we didn’t hesitate to make the right decisions in time.”

3. Hezbollah: We infiltrated UAV into Israel and photographed bases - Israel National News
Hezbollah managed to infiltrate an unmanned aircraft into Israeli airspace without being detected by the IDF, the Al-Manar network reported.
The report said the Islamic organization managed to obtain aerial photographs of IDF bases in the Upper Galilee using the craft. The television channel broadcast the documentation, which Hezbollah claimed included military facilities in the northern sector.
Last month, a Hezbollah drone penetrating Israeli airspace was shot down. At the time, the IDF Spokesman emphasized that throughout the incident, "there was no danger to IDF forces or nearby localities."

4. Israel’s National Security Council Issues Heightened Terror Warnings for Citizens Abroad - Algemeiner
JNS.org – Israel’s National Security Council has issued a warning to the country’s citizens abroad to take special security precautions.
“In light of the threats that have been made recently by Iranian elements, and given the past involvement of Iranian elements in terrorist attacks in various countries, there is concern that Iran will try to act in this manner against Israeli targets,” the NSC’s Counter-Terrorism Division said in a statement on Thursday.
“Possible arenas for this action are both countries close to Iran (such as Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, the Kurdish area in Iraq), as well as throughout the Middle East and Africa,” said the statement.
In addition to the above, according to the NSC, “global jihad organizations, especially ISIS and its supporters, are demonstrating high motivation to carry out terrorist attacks (pursuant to the attacks that have occurred recently in France, Austria and Germany).”

5. Bahrain Reverses Acceptance of ‘Made in Israel’ Label on Goods from Judea, Samaria, Jerusalem - Jewish Press
Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism on Friday reversed the statement made just a few days earlier this week by Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid al-Zayani in which he said Bahrain will import goods labeled “made in Israel” that are produced in Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and other post-1967 areas.
Al Zayani said during an official trade visit to Israel, “Without going into details and border lines, Israeli products or services . . . will be treated like Israeli. . . We will recognize them as Israeli products. We will treat Israel and Israeli companies like we do Italian or German or Saudi companies, for that matter,” he said. “Israelis are as welcome as any other international company in Bahrain.”

1. Trump Campaign Files Lawsuit in Georgia to Overturn Result - Newsmax
President Donald Trump has filed suit in Georgia claiming the election process was filled with “significant systemic misconduct, fraud and other irregularities” resulting in “many thousands of illegal votes” being cast and counted. The suit was filed in Georgia on Friday on behalf of Trump and David Shafer, a presidential elector pledged to the president. The suit named Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and a slew of local elections officials.
"The fraud, misconduct and irregularities that occurred under the ‘supervision’ of (the) respondents are sufficient to place the contest election in doubt,” the lawsuit said. "As a result, there is substantial doubt as to the outcome of the contested election, and the contested election ... shall be enjoined, vacated, and nullified and either a new presidential election be immediately ordered that complies with Georgia Page 52 of 64 law or, in the alternative, that such other just and equitable relief is obtained so as to comport with the Constitution of the State of Georgia.”

3. Suitcases of ballots uncovered - IFA
President Donald Trump’s legal team on Dec. 3 presented surveillance footage at a Georgia state legislature hearing that appears to show ballot-counting workers telling poll observers late at night on Election Day to leave before continuing to count and pulling out what appears to be boxes filled with ballots. In the hearing on Dec. 3, Jacki Pick, a lawyer who is volunteering with the campaign’s legal case, said the team received video footage from State Farm Arena’s vote-tabulation center in Fulton County, Georgia. The team said that GOP poll watchers weren’t allowed to watch the counting process in the poll center.
According to Pick, an unusual occurrence took place later in the evening at around 10 p.m. local time: A woman—described as a blonde woman with braids—told workers to stop counting and notified everyone to go home. Describing the video footage, Pick said, “Everyone clears out, including the Republican observers and the press, but four people stay behind and continue counting and tabulating well into the night.” The four counted unobserved until about 1 a.m., according to the video.
Pick said that video footage shows Fulton County election workers waiting at their scanning areas until GOP poll observers and reporters left the room before they started “scanning ballots,” ostensibly without any observation.

4. Georgia Gov. Kemp Urges Signature Audit After "Smoking Gun" Video Emerges - Newsmax
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is calling for a signature audit after video footage emerged allegedly showing Fulton County poll workers counting ballots without monitors present. A private security firm inside Atlanta's State Farm Arena provided the surveillance video to Trump campaign lawyers at 1 a.m. ET on Thursday, attorney Jacki Pick told Newsmax TV's"Stinchfield" on Thursday.
"Yes, people were sent home, told to stop working, stop counting, but some people stayed behind: Sure enough, just as our poll watchers – well, our monitors – had said," Pick maintained.
Pick, who presented the evidence to the state Senate earlier Thursday, said the video shows suitcases being pulled from under a table covered by a black cloth — purportedly holding thousands of ballots. As result of the video, Kemp called for the signature audit Thursday during an interview on the Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle." "I think it should be done," he said. "I think especially [given] what we saw [Thursday].

5. Judge orders Trump administration to restore DACA, accept new applicants - The Hill
A federal judge on Friday ordered the Trump administration to fully restore the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as minors from deportation, scoring a key win for immigrant advocacy groups.
The ruling from U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis, a Clinton appointee, restores the Obama-era program and also mandates that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) post a public notice by Monday saying it is accepting new applicants. It would mark the first time since 2017 that the government has admitted new immigrants into the program. Approved applicants will also receive two-year work permits under the ruling, as opposed to the one-year permits the administration had proposed.
Roughly a million undocumented immigrant teens and young adults will now be able to apply for the program following the order, according to some estimates. About 640,000 immigrants are currently enrolled in the DACA program.
6. Ordinances Banning 'Sexual Orientation Change Efforts' Are Unconstitutional, Says 11th Circuit - Christian Headlines
Many Christians, especially when it comes to LGBT-related issues, have bought into what might be called “the inevitability thesis.” Nearly everything in our culture has convinced them to assume that it is futile for anyone to resist their same-sex attractions. And, any attempt to help someone, especially young people, reduce their behaviors and attractions is just as futile, and probably even illegal.
After all, many believe, legislatures have adopted and courts have upheld bans on such things. Pastors, youth pastors, Christian-school teachers, entire counseling degree programs at Christian colleges and seminaries, and plenty of parents have embraced the “inevitability thesis” when it comes to LGBT issues, and now refuse either to address these questions at all, or, if they do, they still refuse to counter the cultural consensus they assume has been settled.
A ruling last week from the 11th Circuit court challenges the inevitability thesis. Not only does Grant’s decision create what’s called “a conflict in the circuits,” making it all the more probable that the Supreme Court will have to consider the issue, there is an implicit lesson for anyone tempted by the inevitability thesis. After California and other jurisdictions passed laws restricting what counselors could discuss with their clients, many Christians and Christian institutions chose to conform to ideas and practices they knew to be wrong, so as not to put their licensure, accreditation, or some form of the state’s blessing, at risk. The pressure they felt was, of course, real, but they were mistaken to think there was no further legal recourse available

7. 127 Abortion Clinics Have Closed Since 2015: Life Is 'Winning,' Pro-Life Group Says - Christian Headlines
A new report by a pro-choice organization has drawn opposite reactions along the abortion divide by showing that dozens of independent abortion clinics have closed in the past five years. The 18-page report by the Abortion Care Network says 127 independent abortion clinics have closed since 2015, including at least 14 this year and 27 in 2019. The Network is an association of independent, community-based abortion providers.
Nearly three-fifths (58 percent) of abortions in the U.S. are performed by independent abortion clinics, according to the report. Planned Parenthood performs 37 percent of the nation’s abortions, the report says. Since 2012, the number of independent abortion clinics has fallen 34 percent – from 510 to 337 today.

8. Dow jumps more than 200 points to a record even after a big U.S. jobs report miss - CNBC.com
Stocks rose to record levels on Friday, notching another weekly advance, as traders shook off a disappointing U.S. jobs report. . . . Friday’s jump led major averages to for their fourth weekly gain in five weeks. The Dow rose 1% this week. The S&P 500 gained 1.7% over that time period. The Nasdaq Composite rallied 2.2% this week.
The U.S. economy added 245,000 jobs in November. That’s well below a Dow Jones consensus estimate of 440,000. The unemployment rate, however, matched expectations by falling to 6.7% from 6.9%.
However, some traders saw the weaker-than-expected number as a positive because it could pressure lawmakers to mover forward with additional fiscal stimulus.
Friday’s jobs report data “is beckoning lawmakers to act on additional fiscal stimulus measures in order to bridge the output gap in the economy until a vaccine is deployed and the longer they hold out the wider the gap may become,” said Charlie Ripley, senior investment strategist at Allianz Investment Management.

9. Iran to install hundreds of advanced centrifuges - Israel National News
Iran plans to install hundreds more advanced uranium-enriching centrifuges at an underground plant in breach of its deal with major powers, Reuters reported on Friday, citing the latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN nuclear watchdog. The confidential IAEA report obtained by Reuters said Iran plans to install three more cascades, or clusters, of advanced IR-2m centrifuges in the underground plant at Natanz, which was apparently built to withstand aerial bombardment.
Iran’s nuclear deal with major powers says Tehran can only use first-generation IR-1 centrifuges, which are less efficient, at the underground plant and that those are the only machines with which Iran may accumulate enriched uranium.
In a letter dated 2 December 2020, Iran informed the Agency that the operator of the Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP) at Natanz ‘intends to start installation of three cascades of IR-2m centrifuge machines’ at FEP,” the IAEA’s report to its member states said.
Iran has gradually scaled back its compliance with the 2015 deal in response to US President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the agreement in May of 2018. However, President-elect Joe Biden, who takes office in January, has said he would rejoin the deal and told The New York Times this week that he would do so if Iran returned to compliance with it.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday stressed that his country will not agree to renegotiate the 2015 nuclear deal and urged Biden to abandon what he described as Washington's "rogue" behavior in withdrawing from the agreement.

10. For the First Time in 800 Years, a “Christmas Star” Will Illuminate the Skies This Month - Southern Living
The Solar System’s two largest planets are on course to “collide” in an exceedingly rare event not seen since the Middle Ages. On December 21, Jupiter and Saturn will come so close together that they will look like a “double planet,” a conjunction that will appear to us on Earth like one super-bright point of light.
“Alignments between these two planets are rather rare, occurring once every 20 years or so, but this conjunction is exceptionally rare because of how close the planets will appear to be to one another,” Patrick Hartigan, astronomer at Rice University, told Forbes. “You’d have to go all the way back to just before dawn on March 4, 1226, to see a closer alignment between these objects visible in the night sky.”
This incredible phenomenon has been known historically as the “Christmas Star” or “Star of Bethlehem.” In fact, it’s theorized by many that the fabled star in the story of the Three Wise Men could have been a rare triple conjunction of Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus.
. . . the event will be observable anywhere where skies are clear for about an hour after sunset on December 21, the Winter Solstice. Be sure to mark your calendars, a conjunction this close won’t happen again until March 15, 2080!

The Daily Jot
The Farm Chronicles: More Than a Brother
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, Monday December 7, 2020
On Monday, November 30, my dearest friend and more than a brother, Sonny, went home to the Lord. Our tremendous loss is heaven’s great gain. Strong in faith, he passed from the loving arms of his wife Rose to the outstretched arms of the Lord. There are no words that I can write that describe the closeness we experienced over a lifetime; no words can do it justice. We had many adventures. We shared much joy. We suffered through some difficult times. But as we were talking the last time I saw him three weeks ago, we remarked that no matter what time of day or night, no matter how far apart we were, or what we were doing, we could count on one another if needed. More than a brother.
Since September, I was able to visit him three times, about three weeks apart. Each time we didn’t know if we would see each other again on this side of heaven. Each time, we left nothing on the table. In October, failing quicker in health and needing a walker or a cane, Sonny had a plan in mind. He directed me to a special place where he would meditate on the Lord. He had built a stone bench and had placed a cross there next to an outlook over a ravine. It was about 150 yards into the woods. He hadn’t been there for three years. Moving about six inches at a time, with his hand on my shoulder, we navigated through the brush and the woods for about an hour before we found the place. The cross was no longer standing, but with Sonny directing my search in the underbrush, I found it and built stones around it so that it stood tall.
Sitting on the bench, Sonny pulled out his bible and read aloud Psalm 121: “I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keeps thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil: he shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” When Sonny finished, I anointed him with oil and prayed over him. Then we made our way back. It was a special time, a deep spiritual realization of what was to come. A proclamation of faith.
A few weeks ago, he was limited to his bed and a wheel chair. He could no longer stand on his own. But his sense of humor remained. We laughed and joked, and looked at pictures and told stories of our life together, wishing we could remember more of them. In serious moments, we wondered what it would be like to actually pass from life through death to eternal life. We wanted to make sure each knew how we felt about each other. When it was time for me to go, I leaned over to hug his frail body. He pulled me tight and kissed me on the cheek. We both knew this would be the last time. It was a long embrace. I kissed him on the forehead and told him “love is greater than death.” We parted exchanging, our familiar farewell, “Love you, brother.” Yes, more than a brother.

Classic Hymns
Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine!
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household. (Acts 17:31)
Words: Fanny Crosby, 1873. My friend, Mrs. Joseph F. Knapp, composed a melody and played it over to me two or three times on the piano. She then asked what it said. I replied, Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
This hymn was sung in the Academy Award winning movies Places in the Heart (1984) & Trip to Bountiful (1985). Based on the number of hymnals in which it appears (over 850), this song is Fanny’s most popular work.

LyricsBlessed assurance, Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine,
Heir of salvation, purchased of God
Born of His spirit, washed in His blood
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my savior, all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my savior, all the day long
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Refrain
Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
