CONGRATULATIONS, PRESIDENT TRUMP!

REPUBLICAN PARTY NOMINATES DONALD JOHN TRUMP TO SERVE A SECOND TERM IN OFFICE AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

Trump vows 'security' as he accepts GOP nomination, warns Biden would end 'American greatness'

Arguing "no one will be safe in Biden's America," President Trump took aim at rival Joe Biden and painted a clear contrast between himself and the Democratic presidential nominee as he gave arguably the most important speech of his 2020 reelection campaign.

Delivering his GOP renomination acceptance speech live from the South Lawn of the White House on Thursday night as he closed out this week's Republican National Convention, the president emphasized that "Joe Biden is not the savior of America's soul - he is the destroyer of America's jobs, and if given the chance, he will be the destroyer of American greatness."

And making the case for another four years steering the nation, arguing he's kept his promises and delivered on them to supporters, Trump vowed that "in a new term as president, we will again build the greatest economy in history - quickly returning to full employment, soaring incomes and record prosperity."

. . ., The president used his address to once again paint Biden as a candidate who will be subservient to the extreme left of the Democratic Party and warn of a chaotic future for Americans if Biden wins November's general election.

Trump emphasized that "this is the most important election in the history of our country."

And he claimed that "at no time before have voters faced a clearer choice between two parties, two visions, two philosophies, or two agendas. This election will decide whether we save the American dream, or whether we allow a socialist agenda to demolish our cherished destiny."

The president argued that "this election will decide whether we will defend the American way of life, or whether we allow a radical movement to completely dismantle and destroy it."

And he charged that "Biden is weak. He takes his marching orders from liberal hypocrites who drive their cities into the ground while fleeing far from the scene of the wreckage."

He added that Biden "is a trojan horse for socialism."

CONGRATULATIONS, V.P. PENCE!

CONGRATULATIONS, VICE PRESIDENT PENCE!

The Vice President's Address

Submitted by Gary Bauer

I was honored to be a guest of Vice President Mike Pence at historic Fort McHenry last night as he formally accepted the Republican Party's nomination to be vice president of the United States for four more years.

Fort McHenry was selected as the site for the vice president's address for obvious reasons. It was there during the War of 1812 that Francis Scott Key penned the words to the Star-Spangled Banner after witnessing the British bombardment of Fort McHenry and its defiant defense.

Sadly, progressives today have lost all reverence for our flag and national anthem, as they have lost respect for our country, which many leftists believe is an evil nation founded on slavery and genocide.

Well, there was none of that gloom and doom from Vice President Pence last night!

He delivered a rousing pro-America, pro-Trump speech that praised the courage of our heroes in uniform, our law enforcement officers and first responders, as well as the courage of everyday Americans - farmers, doctors, nurses, parents, teachers and truck drivers.

Listening to Vice President Pence last night, I heard echoes of my former boss, President Ronald Reagan. For example, referring to the challenges before us, including the coronavirus, Pence said this:

"In these challenging times, our country needs a president who believes in America. Who believes in the boundless capacity of the American people to meet any challenge, defeat any foe, and defend the freedoms we all hold dear. . .

"Last week, Joe Biden said 'no miracle is coming.' What Joe doesn't seem to understand is that America is a nation of miracles and we're on track to have the world's first safe, effective coronavirus vaccine by the end of this year."

Referring to recent rioting, Pence said:

"My fellow Americans, we are passing through a time of testing. For in the midst of this global pandemic, just as our nation has begun to recover, we've seen violence and chaos in the streets of our major cities. . .

"Let me be clear: the violence must STOP - whether in Minneapolis, Portland, or Kenosha. Too many heroes have died defending our freedoms to see Americans strike each other down. We will have law and order on the streets of America."

As for the election, Pence said:

"It's not so much whether America will be more conservative or more liberal, more Republican or more Democrat. The choice in this election is whether America remains America.

"It's whether we will leave to our children and our grandchildren a country grounded in our highest ideals of freedom, free markets, and the unalienable right to life and liberty - or whether we will leave to our children and grandchildren a country that is fundamentally transformed into something else."

Nine months ago, nobody would have predicted that a virus coming out of communist China would be a major campaign issue. Nor would anyone have predicted that riots and mobs attacking memorials to America's heroes would be an issue. But they are. And the differences between the two parties and their candidates could not be more stark.

Right now, America needs heroes. And, as the vice president noted, we have plenty of them!

HONORING OUR FIRST LADY

melania.jpg

RNC takeaways night 2: Melania Trump speaks of 'harsh reality' of racial unrest

. . . First lady Melania Trump rarely speaks publicly so her keynote address Tuesday was already going to be must-see TV.

Speaking at a White House Rose Garden whose renovation she oversaw, Trump's speech came a little over a week after Michelle Obama's searing rebuke of President Trump during the Democratic National Convention.

Melania Trump described her husband as an "authentic person" who loves the country and wants to make it better. The Slovenian-born first lady spoke confidently about the "freedoms and opportunities" her adopted country has afforded her, her "Be Best" initiative to prevent children from being bullied, and the importance of recognizing the power of women.

"We must make sure women are heard and the American dream continues to thrive," she said to a crowd of supporters who gathered to listen to her speech.

She also offered her views on racial divisions in the country.

"Like all of you. I have reflected on the racial unrest in our country. It is a harsh reality that we are not proud of parts of our history," she said.

The first lady urged the nation to come together, learn from one another and "work together for a better tomorrow for everyone."

"I encourage people to focus on our future, while still learning from our past. We must remember that today we are all one community comprised of many races, religions and ethnicities. Our diverse and storied history is what makes our country strong, and yet we still have so much to learn from one another," she said.

"I also ask people to stop the violence and looting being done in the name of justice and never make assumptions based on the color of a person's skin," the first lady said.

Melania Trump also talked about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you who have lost a loved one and my prayers are with those who are ill or suffering," she said. "I know many people are anxious and some feel helpless. I want you to know you are not alone."

The president's not a traditional politician, she said, but "he loves this country and he knows how to get things done . . . He demands actions and he gets results."

Tim Scott’s Inspiring Message

timscott.jpg

Tim Scott's Optimistic, Inspiring Message for America's Future at the RNC

"Our family went from cotton to Congress in one lifetime."

Those were the words of Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), who spoke during the opening night of the 2020 Republican National Convention.

The senator was referring to his grandfather, who would have turned 99 years old Tuesday. Growing up, Scott said, his granddad "had to cross the street if a white person was coming," adding, "He suffered the indignity of being forced out of school as a third-grader to pick cotton and he never learned to read or write."

"Yet," Scott continued, "he lived long enough to see his grandson become the first African-American to be elected to both the United States House and the United States Senate in the history of this country. Our family went from cotton to Congress in one lifetime, and that's why I believe the next American century can be better than the last."

In a time of such racial unrest in the U.S., Scott's words were a strong reminder of how far the country has progressed.

He also called on listeners to find the good news, rather than dwelling on the negatives so often put on display by the national news media.

"We live in a world that only wants you to believe in the bad news, racially, economically, and culturally," Scott said. "The truth is, our nation's arch always bends back toward fairness. We're not fully where we want to be, but I thank God Almighty we are not where we used to be. We are always striving to be better. When we stumble - and we will - we pick ourselves back up, and try again."

"We don't give in to cancel culture or the radical and factually baseless belief that things are worse today than in the 1860s or the 1960s," he continued. "We have work to do, but I believe in the goodness of America, the promise that all men and all women are created equal, and if you're watching tonight, I'm betting you do, too."

The Republican went on to praise President Donald Trump for presiding over "the most inclusive economy ever," prior to the coronavirus pandemic, noting a majority of new jobs created "went to women, African Americans, and Hispanics."

Scott argued re-electing Trump gives people "the best chance" at a prosperous future.

"God bless you," he said in closing. "And Father, please continue blessing the United States of America."

C-SPAN caller says he's changing vote to Republican after RNC

A caller--who identified himself as a lifelong Democrat-- told C-SPAN late Monday that he will be supporting Republicans this year after being inspired on the opening night of the Republican National Convention, citing the "heartfelt way" participants "came across to the American people."

The caller, who identified himself only as Rick, from Lorain, Ohio, told the station that he decided-- in part-- to change his vote because of the way Republicans embraced the word "God."

"The people on the Democratic side, at their convention - acted like they were pushing God right out of it. And that had a lot to do with changing my mind," he said.

The official meeting of RNC delegates Monday emphasized the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance after a committee and a caucus meeting omitted the words from the pledge during the Democratic National Convention.

"Two Democrat Caucus Meetings removed 'UNDER GOD' from the Pledge of Allegiance. It sounded not only strange, but terrible. That's where they're coming from!" President Trump tweeted Sunday. (Fox News) Read more.

Thank you RNC!

THANK YOU, RNC!

This morning, we want to thank the Republican National Committee for bringing us a week of non-stop, truth-telling speakers, videos and reports . . . all honoring our heritage as American citizens, and the destiny God has planned for all of us yet to fulfill.

Throughout this past week, we could see that God and Country were prominent. Each speaker was "telling it is" about the socialist agenda that threatens our very freedom to worship, speak, and live.

Thank you, RNC!

Today we honor you, and we thank you for the amazing work you are doing to "restore what the locust has eaten" as, together, we rediscover our identity as citizens of the United States of America.

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
