1. DF says it foiled Hezbollah attack along Lebanese border; no Israeli injuries - Times of Israel
The Israel Defense Forces said it thwarted a Hezbollah attack in the Mount Dov area on Monday afternoon, opening fire at a number of fighters from the terror group that entered Israeli territory.
No Israeli soldiers were injured, and the IDF denied Lebanese media reports that a Kornet anti-tank guided missile was fired at an Israeli tank on Mount Dov, also known as Shebaa Farms, an area that Israel, Lebanon and Syria each claim as its own.
IDF Spokesperson Hidai Zilberman said at least some members of the Hezbollah cell fled back to Lebanon, but added: "We don't know their conditions for sure at this point."
The Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Mayadeen news outlet reports that no Hezbollah fighters were killed during the failed attack.
2. Netanyahu: Hezbollah is playing with fire - Israel National News
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Benny Gantz responded Monday evening to the incident on the Lebanese border in which three terrorists from Hezbollah attempted to infiltrate into Israeli territory.
"Nasrallah is making embroiling the state of Lebanon because of Iran. Today a Hezbollah cell infiltrated Israeli territory. With its good operational readiness, the IDF thwarted this attempt," the prime minister said.
"We view the attempt to infiltrate our territory with great severity. Hezbollah and the State of Lebanon are responsible for this incident and for any attack that originating from Lebanese territory against Israel. Hezbollah is playing with fire. Any attack against us will be answered with great force," Netanyahu warned.
3. 'The government ignores and the Palestinian Authority takes over' - Israel National News
The Palestinian Authority paved a new road in an illegal settlement in the heart of the Har Hevron Regional Council and all this took place under the watchful eye of the Netanyahu-Gantz government, and not for the first time.
Yochai Damri, head of the Har Hevron Regional Council, is furious at the incompetence of the law enforcement authorities.
"Ultimately, there is a backyard of the State of Israel here. Terrible things are happening in this backyard," he said.
"In the blink of an eye, we de facto handed over Area C and state lands to the Palestinian Authority. They do what they want, both in paving roads and in building houses and building electricity and water infrastructure," Damri told Arutz Sheva in an interview.
"I can only say that this policy of ignoring is probably convenient for someone," he hinted. "Only when we saw the plan to establish a Palestinian state did we finally figure it out. In the Trump plan, this entire territory is supposed to be part of the Palestinian state and apparently there are those who have decided already at this stage to transfer it to the Palestinians and it is not clear what they are getting in return. These are parts of Area C where the security and sovereign responsibility is ours and in which we have zero governance percentages."
4. 'Life itself' could bring Gantz and Netanyahu together again - Jerusalem Post
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu famously said ahead of the 2015 election that "life itself" - meaning Israel's security - is Israel's biggest challenge and, implicitly, his top priority.
With the IDF thwarting a Hezbollah attack on Israel's border with Lebanon, and tensions continuing to rise, "life itself" may give Netanyahu and Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz just the push they need to keep their dysfunctional unity government together.
Months ago, the COVID-19 pandemic brought Netanyahu and Gantz together in a unity government that was awkward but carefully planned to ensure they would put "life itself" - meaning public health - first.
Things have not quite gone as planned since then. The second wave of coronavirus arrived, revealing that the government had done nothing in the prior weeks preparing to handle a scenario that experts, and even Netanyahu himself, said was a strong possibility. Only weeks later, last Thursday, did the sides agree on a coronavirus czar, Prof. Ronni Gamzu, to coordinate the efforts.
5. Coronavirus wards at four of Israel's largest hospitals are full - Times of Israel
Coronavirus wards at four of Israel's largest hospitals are full, with a fifth nearing total capacity, according to the Health Ministry, as the number of serious COVID-19 cases in the country continued to rise, placing a strain on the healthcare system.
The Health Ministry also recorded general overload in the hospitals, with two major Jerusalem medical centers and the largest hospitals in Tel Aviv and nearby Ramat Gan operating near or above full capacity.
According to the Health Ministry, over 700 COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized around the country, including 317 listed in serious condition, about one-third of whom are on ventilators.

1. Trump administration invests $472M more in Moderna vaccine candidate- Politico
The Trump administration is going to pump another $472 million into expanding Moderna's clinical trial to test the safety and efficacy of its coronavirus vaccine candidate.
What happened: Moderna announced Sunday that the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, known as BARDA, is pouring the additional dollars the day before the phase three trial of the vaccine candidate is slated to start.
The funding will help the biotechnology company expand the trial to 30,000 people in the U.S., according to Moderna, and comes on the heels of months of discussions with FDA and the Trump administration's Operation Warp Speed, an interagency effort to accelerate the timeline for a vaccine.
The background: The federal government has been increasing its investments in developing, testing and speeding production capacity for Covid-19 treatment and vaccines. Earlier this month, it provided $450 million to manufacture a promising treatment and $1.6 billion to Novavax to run a late-stage trial for its vaccine candidate.
Previously, Moderna had received up to $483 million from BARDA, bringing the total award to $955 million - almost $1 billion. The study is being done in collaboration with National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, which is directed by Anthony Fauci.
The politics: Phase three trials are the final step in determining how safe and effective a vaccine is, and the new investment comes as the Trump administration hopes for a high-profile rollout of initial vaccines in as soon as three months. (Read more)

2. Congress set for messy COVID-19 talks on tight deadline - The Hill
Senators are bracing for a messy, down-to-the-wire fight over coronavirus relief legislation.
Congress returned to Washington last week with an already tight three-week time frame to come together on the next emergency COVID-19 package, all the while navigating significant policy differences and the growing pull of the election.
Lawmakers are hoping a looming deadline - the start of a four-week August recess - will drive both sides to the negotiating table and an eleventh-hour agreement.
"I think it's going to hit a quick crescendo and we'll get it done," said Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.). "I think it's just going to get closer to the edge. ... My impression would be closer to the time when we'll be recessing again."
Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) added that "we're good at doing things when we have a deadline." (Read more)

3. Supreme Court denies Nevada church's virus rule appeal - Mercury News
A sharply divided U.S. Supreme Court denied a rural Nevada church's request late Friday to strike down as unconstitutional a 50-person cap on worship services as part of the state's ongoing response to the coronavirus.
In a 5-4 decision, the high court refused to grant the request from the Christian church east of Reno to be subjected to the same COVID-19 restrictions in Nevada that allow casinos, restaurants and other businesses to operate at 50% of capacity with proper social distancing.
Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley argued that the hard cap on religious gatherings was an unconstitutional violation of its parishioners' First Amendment rights to express and exercise their beliefs.
Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the liberal majority in denying the request without explanation. Three justices wrote strongly worded dissenting opinions on behalf of the four conservatives who said they would have granted the injunctive relief while the court fully considers the merits of the case.
"That Nevada would discriminate in favor of the powerful gaming industry and its employees may not come as a surprise, but this Court's willingness to allow such discrimination is disappointing," Justice Samuel Alito wrote in a dissent joined by Clarence Thomas and Brett Kavanaugh. (Read more)

4.Banks are begging for spare change: How long coin shortage could last - Detroit Free Press
Banks are begging you to break open your piggy bank, dig through your seat cushions and unload those coffee cans full of change sitting in the closet.
The COVID-19 change shortage has bankers all across the country asking customers to bring in rolled coins as a way to pump more pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters into circulation.
"If you have spare change, we encourage Michiganders to contact their local bank and make an appointment to exchange rolled coins," said T. Rann Paynter, President & CEO, Michigan Bankers Association, in a statement.
A Wisconsin bank went so far in July as to offer an extra $5 for every $100 in coins that are brought into the Community State Bank, whose main office is in Union Grove.
The deal turned out to be incredibly popular and lasted but 7 days, ending at the close of business July 21. "People brought stuff in cans, bags and jars," said Greg Wall, chief innovation officer for Community State Bank, which has $460 million in assets and 7 branches in southeastern Wisconsin. 5. WATCH: Protesters Descend On DHS Secretary Chad Wolf's Virginia Home- Daily Wire
Protesters from "ShutDownDC," the organization that followed Trump administration officials to local restaurants several years ago to protest a controversial family separation policy at the United States-Mexico border, organized a demonstration outside acting Department of Homeland Security secretary Chad Wolf's Virginia home Saturday night and Sunday, to protest the presence of federal officials in Portland.
"We visited Chad Wolf this morning to tell him to send his thugs home and to support our friends in Portland, at the border, and across the country @popmobpdx @pnwylf Chad's neighbors joined us - awkward!" the organization boasted on social media.
The Trump administration deployed an elite force of the Customs and Border Patrol to help defend a Portland federal courthouse amid violent unrest - unrest which has now gone on for more than 50 days. There are now Federal officials in Chicago, Illinois, as well, working with local law enforcement to address that city's ongoing gang violence problem.
The demonstration addressed several issues alongside the Portland riots. "Marching under the 'Shut Down D.C.' banner, they then made their way to the DHS chief's home where activists were pictured gathering outside with signs that read 'Resist Trump's Troops' and 'No more teargas, no more tearing families apart,'" Newsweek reported. 6. Chicago pastor leads prayer walks to 'push back against the violence' - Fox News
In response to a rise in violent crime that has claimed the lives of children, Chicago pastor Edgar Rodriguez has led prayer walks in his community.
Rodriguez, appearing Saturday on "Fox & Friends Weekend," said he wanted to "push back against the violence, give people hope, and really address the crime."
The reaction to Rodriguez's efforts has been positive. "Specifically, in the block that we've lived on, we've taken a very pro-active approach - not reactive - where if someone gets killed then we go out and pray, or then we go out and march," he said. "But just this idea of owning my community, owning my block, praying, getting to know the people, asking individuals if they need prayer ... especially those who may be involved in gang activity and other activity that is unlawful," Rodriguez added.
"And so we engage it. We pray for them. And, in my part of the community by God's grace, we have seen results. We've seen individuals change. We've seen violence go down," he said. (Read more)

7. Judge denies restraining order against feds in Portland - CBS6 KOIN
A federal judge on Friday denied a request from the Oregon attorney general seeking a temporary restraining order against federal officers in Portland.
In court documents obtained by KOIN 6 News, U.S. District Judge Michael W. Mosman found the state of Oregon "lacks standing" in its attempt to limit federal agents' efforts in the state's most populous city.
The attorney general's restraining order request sought restrictions, such as requiring federal officers to identify themselves before making an arrest and explain to a person why they were being detained. It also sought to block any arrests that lacked probable cause.
"It is not unusual, following major protests, for some of the people involved to allege that the police crossed a line-a constitutional line-in the course of their interactions," stated Mosman. "It is also common for these interactions to result in lawsuits, with protesters contending the police violated their First and Fourth Amendment rights and seeking redress by money damages and injunctive relief. There is a well established body of law paving the way for such lawsuits to move forward in federal court. This is not such a lawsuit. It is a very different case, a highly unusual one with a a particular set of rules." (Read more)

8. Hawley will only back Supreme Court picks who have said Roe v. Wade was 'wrongly decided' - The Hill
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) said Sunday that he would only vote for a U.S. Supreme Court nominee who believes the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, which found access to abortion to be part of the constitutional right to privacy, was incorrectly decided.
"I will vote only for those Supreme Court nominees who have explicitly acknowledged that Roe v. Wade is wrongly decided. By explicitly acknowledged, I mean on the record and before they were nominated," Hawley, who has not yet had the opportunity to vote on a nominee to the high court since his election in 2018, told The Washington Post.
"I don't want private assurances from candidates. I don't want to hear about their personal views, one way or another. I'm not looking for forecasts about how they may vote in the future or predications. I don't want any of that," he added. "I want to see on the record, as part of their record, that they have acknowledged in some forum that Roe v. Wade, as a legal matter, is wrongly decided." (Read more)

9. Nolte: Draft DNC Platform Declares White Americans Too Rich, Too Privileged, and Too Evil - Breitbart
The Democrat National Committee draft platform for its 2020 convention mentions "whites" a total of 15 times, each of them within a "damning" context - a detail first noticed by the Washington Examiner's Paul Bedard.
"In more than 80 pages in the draft platform published by Politico, whites are mentioned 15 times, all critical, including three references to white supremacy or supremacists and one to white nationalists," Bedard writes.
He adds, "In most mentions, the reference is to how whites are better off at the expense of others. And the promise often is to 'close the gap' between minorities and whites, though no solutions are offered."
If this is a legitimate draft, the fact that it's a merely a draft means nothing. It still reveals how ugly the Democrat Party has become and how ugly and divisive the future will be, should this approach to national politics ever prevail.
Bedard includes each of the 15 times whites are mentioned in the draft platform, a platform Joe Biden will certainly embrace when he accepts the presidential nomination later this year. Included in the 15 is an attack on the American military as racist and the not-subtle libel that white prosperity is hurting other racial minorities. (Read more)

10. Nigerian Christians executed in cold blood by Islamist extremists - Christian Today
Christians are among five Nigerian men to have been executed in Nigeria by Islamist extremists.
The deaths were recorded in a 35-second video posted to YouTube by Eons Intelligence before being removed.
It showed the men blindfolded and kneeling in front of five militants standing behind them holding AK-47 rifles.
One of the executioners then spoke to the camera before the executions were carried out to warn other Christians that they would be next if they did not stop sharing the Gospel and convert to Islam.
"This is a message to all those being used by infidels to convert Muslims to Christianity," one of the executioners said, according to Morning Star News.
"We want you out there to understand that those of you being used to convert Muslims to Christianity are only being used for selfish purposes. (Read more)
- Father, this report is heartbreaking, but we pray that Your comfort would be with the families of these men. We pray against fear in the region, and bind that spirit in the Name of Jesus. You said in Your Word that You can bring good out of evil, so we ask that You start a revival in this very area, and bring strength and faith to Christians, and more people into the Kingdom.

Dear Saints of the Most High God,
This past Friday, when I received an alert about a scheduled outbreak of violence to take place the next day in Richmond, VA, I really became alarmed!
Recalling the past weeks of vicious and violent demonstrations in many other cities across our land, I thought: "This stuff is from the pit of hell."
I heard a Voice say: "Yes, it is!"
I was stunned, realizing that I had heard the voice God!
He did not speak again, but instead showed me these "pictures" from Scripture:
I saw our Lord Jesus descend to the very depths of hell, where he moved powerfully, taking captivity CAPTIVE. The multitudes who were there, crying out for mercy, were RELEASED.
IN A MIGHTY ACT OF LOVE, GOD TOOK CONTROL OVER HELL!
And He set the captives FREE!
Oh, HALLELUJAH!
In Him and through Him, we have NO FEAR, for we are the victors and not the victims!
As I was beholding this open vision, our LORD quickened to my Spirit that He had taken three days, while in the tomb, to CONQUER HELL, DEATH AND THE GRAVE!
Dear Saints, I am SO ENCOURAGED by this vision, which passed quickly that day. I know that I know that I know that, no matter what CNN reports to be "true" is only a LIE and that WE WIN!
Instead, what are we called to do now? . . . Here are my thoughts:
1. Pray for the lost. Name names specifically; He died for them and is asking us to pray for their deliverance and for their salvation.
2. As difficult as this is: as we pray for our enemies, we MUST first release forgiveness towards them, as Jesus did on the Cross.
3. Don't give up! Our hope is in Him and in the work of the Cross. The harvest IS at hand . . . just keep praying and stand for the truth.
4. Pray for all police officers -- men and women -- who are now in the FRONT LINES to defend our freedom and to restore LAW AND ORDER in our streets. 5. Continue to pray for President Trump to receive divine wisdom as he works to make righteous decrees in this end-time battle against the very forces of hell. Praise God that he has been given the mantle of authority to protect the church, while we work to build up the church.
6. Finally, REJECT FEAR! This is the tactic of the Marxists in particular, so that they can gain ground and take over. We reject fear because CHRIST IS IN US! 7. AND PRAISE THE LORD IN WORSHIP AND THANKSGIVING, BECAUSE HE IS IN CONTROL OF THESE TIMES!
In closing, I was actually hesitating whether I was to share these thoughts with you, until I received the letter below, from a brother in Christ here in Virginia. I trust that his message will strengthen you in your own resolve to STAND FOR CHRIST and for His soon coming Kingdom on earth. Thank you!

The Living God of Abraham and Isaac named Jacob "Israel." As Jacob was wrestling with God, the Lord said, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed." (Genesis 32:28). Israel, despite his sins, was commended by God as a fighter who prevails. Modern day Israel today is a fighter, surrounded by enemies, prevailing. God's blessing continues! He "keeps" Israel, and us, not allowing our foot to be moved, neither slumbering nor sleeping, preserving us from all evil, preserving our soul, "from this time forth and forevermore." (Psalm 121:3-8)
As we take time to repent on these global days of repentance the Holy Spirit is strengthened in each of us. His Word replaces old sin strongholds, cleansing us. We learn the unique calling the Lord has for each of us to advance His Kingdom in these end times. We become more like Jacob, one who struggles with God and men and prevails.
The Living God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, in the Lord's perfect timing, in fulfillment of Scriptures, blessed all humanity with Yeshua's birth in Bethlehem. His first Word as He preached (Matthew 4:17) was "Repent; for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand." He now as the Risen Christ calls us to cleanse as His Bride (Ephesians 5: 25-27) and to be zealous to repent, to dine with Him, to become overcomers to sit with Him on His throne as He overcame and sat on His Abba Father's throne. (Revelation 3:19-21).
Israel is unique among nations, the apple of His eye. Yes, God's heart and strategy touches all nations. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have life everlasting!" (John 3:16). At the same time, YHVH proclaims that He has a special strategic priority and heart for the Jewish people. They are His firstborn nation: "Then you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus says YHVH, "Israel is My son, My firstborn" (Exodus 4:22).
This firstborn status is explained in the Bible (Deuteronomy 21:15-18; Romans 1:16; 9:1-5; 11:28-29) as being a continuing priority in the outworking of God's kingdom. Though all are created by Him - red and yellow, black and white - God draws a redemptive plumb line through mankind: on one side are the Jewish people, and on the other are all the nations (the Gentiles). Replacement theology and the spirit of anti-semitism has sought to hide this Truth.

These times are ones that are personal and private -- sanctified hours between you and the LORD to meet in your own prayer closet for repentance, cleansing and renewal.

Daring rescue saves 3 lives after Hurricane Hanna barrels through Texas
Like a tragic crossover episode between two catastrophic television series, a community center known as the "Dome" in Mercedes, Texas, presented a uniquely grim glimpse at the tumultuous year that turned even worse for South Texas residents over the weekend.
As Hurricane Hanna spewed a mangled mess across the southeastern portion of the state, officials in Mercedes needed not only a place to house storm evacuees, but also a facility to take special mind of those who had tested positive for COVID-19.
Enter, the "Dome."
"The dome shall be the shelter for COVID-exposed families," the city announced in a press release on Saturday. "Proper safety gear for staff and other safety measures shall be employed to make the facility and families as safe as possible. Be advised that this is for basic sheltering, and not hospital-care sheltering. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation."

Listening to CBN News, a reporter speaks of serious weather developing in the Caribbean. He gave a detailed report of how these storms are forming now. Stadium Revival Draws over 1,000 Worshipers in California
"What's going on in California?" is the question that has been asked of me a lot this month. With the beach gatherings in Huntington Beach, along with Pastor Jack Hibbs' and John MacArthur's bold stances (thank you, both), we decided to launch a Saturday night service in Lancaster, California, at JetHawk Stadium. It's being tagged the Stadium Revival.
Although the event was primarily for our local body as a way to come together, word quickly spread, and over 1,000 people showed up. We are not taking an offering, collecting names for a database, or trying to elevate our church; it's simply a time to elevate Christ. It was an incredible event that will run through September 2020 (God willing). We witnessed salvations, recommitments, and powerful personal testimonies under the prayer tent. It showed how hungry people are to be encouraged and uplifted and even convicted. The message can be heard here,and the entire service here.
As a result of this California renewal, many have been asking, "With so much phoniness out there, what is true revival?" Simply stated, a genuine revival is God reviving His people-"Wilt thou not revive us again that thy people may rejoice in thee?" (Psalm 85:6 KJV). Revival is our only hope, and repentance is the true mark of genuine revival as what was reflected in the life of Griffith Jones, who preached during the Welsh revivals of the 18th century and said, "The tears [of the congregation] began to flow in streams down their cheeks. Soon, they wept openly, and cried out, 'What shall we do to be saved?'"
Further, it was not uncommon for people to tremble and weep or shout for joy under the anointed preaching of George Whitefield. Whitefield was the primary evangelist during the Great Awakening that occurred in the mid-1700s. During this time, old grudges and debts were forgiven, morality improved, many were added to the church, and there was a greater sense of the fear of the Lord.
