Focus on Israel
1. Israel and the Sino-Iranian alliance - Israel Hayom
When Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Teheran in 2016, most observers dismissed the significance of the move. The notion that Beijing would wreck its relations with America, the largest economy and most powerful global superpower, in favor of an alliance with Iran, the world's greatest state sponsor of terrorism was, on its face, preposterous.
But despite the ridiculousness of the idea, concern grew about Sino-Iranian ties as Iranian political leaders and military commanders beat a path to China's door. Now, in the midst of the global recession caused by China's export of the coronavirus, the preposterous has become reality.
Following weeks of feverish rumors, Iran and China have concluded a strategic accord. Last weekend, The New York Times reported on the contents of a final draft of the agreement.
In its opening line, China and Iran describe themselves as "two ancient Asian cultures, two partners in the sectors of trade, economy, politics, culture, and security with a similar outlook and many mutual bilateral and multilateral interests."
Henceforth, they, "will consider one another strategic partners."
2. Israel's Shabak exposes terror plot involving Iran, Hezbollah - World Israel News
The Shin Bet, Israel's internal security service, has revealed that it foiled a terror plot a few months ago planned by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine with the aid of Iran and Hezbollah.
The plot was carried out under the cover of a social welfare group with connections to a terror group in Syria that fights against ISIS and opponents of Assad's regime.
The plot came to light with the April capture and interrogation of Yazan Abu Salah, 23, a member of the Popular Front. He revealed that he had collected weapons for attacks and stood at the head of two cells - one in Ramallah and the other in Samaria.
The group planned to carry out attacks in Judea and Samaria. These included the capture of an IDF soldier to be used as a bargaining chip for Arab prisoners held in Israel. The group also planned to carry out remote detonations, having been inspired by the attack that killed Rina Shnerb, 17, in August of last year.
The town of Harish near Haifa was identified as one of the places targeted for attack.
3. Netanyahu Battling Own Committee Chairwoman for Control Over Coronavirus Policy - Jewish Press
The Tuesday morning confrontation between the Knesset Coronavirus Committee and the Netanyahu over which sectors of the Israeli economy to shut down will probably be the last of its kind. In the latest attempt to wrest any semblance of independence from the legislator, the government is pushing a new "mega-coronavirus bill" that takes away any real authority of the committee to approve or revoke restriction orders issued by the government.
According to the draft bill obtained by Kan 11 News, the authority to approve or revoke restriction orders would no longer be in the hands of the Coronavirus Committee but would be divided instead among four different committees: the Constitution Committee, Education Committee, Labor, Welfare and Health Committee, and the Economy Committee.
Following the expected passing of the new law by the Knesset Wednesday night, there will be a transition period of one to two weeks for the purpose of enacting relevant regulations - which means that during this time period the government would no longer need to go through the Coronavirus Committee. And when the dust settles, the Coronavirus Committee will become a toothless entity.
4. Knesset overturns government restrictions, reopens restaurants - Israel National News
The Knesset's Coronavirus Committee voted Tuesday morning to reject new government rules banning on-site dining at restaurants across the country, paving the way the reopening of dining establishments.
In the latest defeat for the government, which has had multiple decisions aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus overturned, the committee restored the previous rules for restaurants, which allows not only takeout orders and delivery, but also on-site dining for up to 20 people indoors and 30 additional diners outdoors.
The committee chairwoman, MK Yifat Shasha-Biton, said during the committee's deliberation Tuesday that the government can still set rules aimed at minimizing the risk of spreading the coronavirus in restaurants.
"I hope that the government will bring a proposal next week which will normalize the status of dining both indoors and outdoors."
Coalition chairman MK Miki Zohar (Likud) lambasted the Knesset Coronavirus Committee over its decision, saying "You're leading this country to a lockdown in a month."
5. Hamas and Fatah Announces 'Historic' Joint Protest Against Israel - Jerusalem Online
Hamas and Fatah are gearing up for a "historic" joint rally in the Gaza Strip in a show of unity against Israel's plan to annex large parts of the occupied West Bank.
In a statement carried by the Palestinian WAFA news agency on Tuesday, Fatah Secretary General Jibril Rajoub announced that the joint rally will be coming "in the coming days."
"The rally will be a historic point in consolidating the united Palestinian position in the face of the annexation project," he said.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to annex about a third of the West and the Jordan Valley.
The plan is, however, on hold amid deep divisions within Netanyahu's coalition cabinet over the land grab bid.
Rajoub said both Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and other national leaders will speak at the upcoming Gaza event, without elaborating on whether the speeches will be made via video link.

1. Supreme Court Rejects House Democrats' Request To Expedite Trump's Financial Docs - Daily Caller
The Supreme Court denied a request by House Democrats Monday that sought to expedite the process of obtaining President Donald Trump's financial documents.
Chief Justice John Roberts denied the motion, according to a court document. The Supreme Court ruled earlier in July that Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr.'s subpoena that demanded access to the president's finances could proceed, contrary to Trump's claims that he bore immunity against the order, according to The Washington Post.
Democrat lawmakers, following the ruling, requested similar access, but were blocked pending further review in a lower court, CNN reported. House lawyer Doug Letter reportedly requested immediate acquisition on the subpoenas because he suspected "conflicts of interest" as well as possible "money laundering," according to a court document. 2. Lawsuit accuses ex-Fox News reporter Ed Henry of rape, says Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson harassed other woman - CNBC
A bombshell lawsuit filed by two women Monday accused former Fox News chief national correspondent Ed Henry of raping one of them and says that the network's star anchor Sean Hannity once offered $100 to staffers to "date" another woman who also accuses Henry of sexual harassment.
The federal suit says that one of the plaintiffs, Cathy Areu, also was sexually harassed by other high-profile men at Fox News, including Hannity, host Tucker Carlson, journalist Howard Kurtz and contributor Gianno Caldwell.
The other plaintiff, former Fox Business associate producer Jennifer Eckhart, claims that Henry raped her, in addition to committing other sexual misconduct against her.
Areu had been a frequent guest on Fox News, but the network says she was neither an employee nor a contributor. However, the lawsuit identifies her as meeting the definition of an employee, albeit not a full-time one.(Read more)

3. Report: Kasich to speak at Democratic convention on behalf of Biden - The Hill
Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) is expected to speak on behalf of former Vice President Joe Biden at the Democratic National Convention next month.
It's unclear if Kasich will explicitly endorse the presumptive Democratic nominee when he speaks at the convention. But the expected remarks would amount to a major show of support for Biden by a lifelong Republican who rose to political prominence amid the Tea Party movement a decade ago.
The plans were first reported on Monday by The Associated Press. Spokespeople for Biden's campaign and the Democratic National Committee did not immediately respond to The Hill's request for comment. Kasich, who unsuccessfully ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, has been fiercely critical of President Trump, going as far as to call for his impeachment last year. (Read more)

4. Justice Department gives update on when to expect 'pivotal' report from John Durham - Washington Examiner
U.S. Attorney John Durham's criminal inquiry into the Russia investigation is on track to release a report by the end of the summer, according to the Justice Department. Kerri Kupec, a top spokeswoman for the agency, told Fox News this week that a report is not "the goal" of the criminal investigation, but it will nevertheless "be really pivotal to the restoration of that one tiered system of justice."
The politically charged review, which shifted into a criminal investigation last fall, has been decried by Democrats as a scheme to damage President Trump's rivals ahead of the 2020 election and hailed by Republicans who claim the Russia investigation was a partisan hit job.
"There is a story to be told there. The American people deserve resolution, and frankly, justice deserves resolution," Kupec declared. (Read more)

5. Beer Countess Who Flew Epstein's 'Lolita Express' 32 Times Quits Child Protection Charity - Zerohedge
The wife of a British aristocrat and frequent flyer on Jeffrey Epstein's 'Lolita Express' has stepped down from her role volunteering for the UK's National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).
Clare Hazell - an interior designer who became the Countess of Iveagh after her 2001 marriage to the 4th Earl of Guinnes (of the brewing dynasty) - took 32 flights on Epstein's infamous airplane between 1998 and 2000, which included "trips to his homes in New York, Florida, the Caribbean and New Mexico," according to the Daily Mail. Epstein accompanied Hazell on all but one of the trips aboard the plane, per flight logs.
Ms Hazell was studying at Ohio State University in the 1990s and reportedly had a modelling agency and an apartment in Columbus, Ohio.
The friend described her as being at Epstein's 'beck and call', saying how mutual plans would be cancelled immediately if she was needed by Epstein and Maxwell. -Daily Mail (Read more)

6. Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder arrested in $60 million bribery case - USA Today
Federal officials arrested Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder and four others on Tuesday morning in connection with a $60 million bribery case.
U.S. Attorney David DeVillers' office would not discuss details of the case, but a source involved in the investigation confirmed Householder's arrest to The Cincinnati Enquirer of the USA TODAY Network.
Also arrested, according to the source: Neil Clark from Grant Street Consultants and once called by USA Today "one of the best connected lobbyists in Columbus" former Ohio Republican Party chair and consultant Matthew Borges; Juan Cespedes, co-founder of The Oxley Group in Columbus; and Jeffrey Longstreth, adviser to Householder.
The scope of the federal investigation, the dollars involved and the arrests Tuesday make this one of the largest public corruption cases in Ohio in years. (Read more)

7. Lawsuits multiply as rash of California churches defy new coronavirus restrictions - Washington Examiner
A series of California churches this weekend defied Gov. Gavin Newsom's revamped restrictions on worship, with some suing on the basis of alleged First Amendment infringements.
Newsom's restrictions, which came after the state experienced a second wave of coronavirus cases, prohibit indoor services and singing during church. The governor instituted the singing ban in early July and nixed indoor services last week. Both bans struck a sour note with pastors, many of whom said their churches require both song and air conditioning to function.
Harvest Rock, an evangelical church based in Pasadena and with campuses throughout Southern California, held services inside on Sunday, after suing Newsom Friday for violating the First Amendment's free exercise clause. "I want us to pray right now that we will win that court case," he concluded. "No one is above the Constitution. No one is above the law." (Read more)

8. Trump orders voting districts to exclude people in U.S. illegally - Reuters
President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on Tuesday that would prevent migrants who are in the United States illegally from being counted when U.S. congressional voting districts are next redrawn, triggering swift rebukes from Democrats and at least one promise of litigation.
U.S. census experts and lawyers say the action is legally dubious, and not easily executed in practice. It could also cause populous states with large immigrant contingents to lose seats in the 435-member U.S. House of Representatives, including big left-leaning states like California - currently with 53 seats - and New York, with 27.
The process of drawing voting maps for federal congressional districts is known as apportionment. (Read more)

9. DOJ announces Hezbollah associated narco-money launderer and a computer hacker extradited to the United States - DML News
The Department of Justice announced over the weekend that a Lebanese national wanted in Florida who is alleged to have conspired to engage in, and actually engaged, in the laundering of drug proceeds through the use of the black market peso exchange in support of Hezbollah's global criminal-support network, along with a Cypriot national who is wanted in the Northern District of Georgia and the District of Arizona for cyber intrusion and extortion, were both extradited Friday from the Republic of Cyprus to the United States.
The DOJ said in a press release:
Ghassan Diab, 37, a citizen of Lebanon, arrived in Miami yesterday after being extradited from the Republic of Cyprus. Diab is charged in the State of Florida, Circuit Court of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County, with two counts of money laundering over $100,000, two counts of conspiracy to launder over $100,000, two counts of unlicensed transmission of currency over $100,000, and two counts of unlawful use of a two-way communications device to further the commission of money laundering, all felonies under Florida law. 10. Senate panel narrowly approves Trump's Fed nominee Shelton - Reuters
The Senate Banking Committee on Tuesday approved Judy Shelton's nomination to the Federal Reserve Board in a party-line vote, delivering a win for President Donald Trump and his efforts to install a political confidante in a key economic policy-making role. The 13-12 vote in favor of Shelton's nomination came despite a stormy confirmation hearing in mid-February, when the former Trump campaign adviser was characterized by some among the committee's Republican majority as outside the mainstream of economic thought.
Several had voiced concerns about placing the longtime Fed critic, who has questioned the need for the central bank and slammed its policies, in a position of influence over U.S. monetary policy.
In the end, though, no Republican on the panel voted against her, while all the Democrats did. The committee endorsement sets the stage for a broader debate on Shelton's nomination before the full Senate, where a handful of moderate Republicans will hold the deciding votes on her confirmation.
"I am confident that her deep understanding of the Fed's monetary policy toolkit, monetary history and commitment to maintaining Fed independence will serve the Fed well in its ongoing efforts to stabilize markets, and toward its mission of price stability and full employment," the committee chair, Senator Mike Crapo, said ahead of the vote. 11. 'We can't pull it off': Florida sheriff says he can't muster security for GOP convention - POLITICO
The controversy deals one of the biggest potential blows to President Donald Trump's decision to hold an in-person nominating convention during a pandemic. The proposal has already been beset by concerns over safety and reports of high-profile Republicans declining to attend.
Williams, a Republican, wouldn't definitively say there is no way the event could be held. But he said he had grave doubts, especially in an era of heightened protests concerning police use of force.
Williams said the event, scheduled for Aug. 24-27, was announced in June, giving his agency little time to plan and prepare. The Republican National Committee has not yet nailed down which convention events will be at which venues, making it more challenging. And a pledged $50 million grant has been paired back to $33 million and, Williams said, there are strings attached that make letting contracts too difficult.
RNC spokesperson Mandi Merritt said in a statement that the RNC is working closely with local leaders in Jacksonville on planning for the convention, including on health and security measures. She added that the Department of Justice will provide millions of dollars via a safety grant.
"Jacksonville has accommodated upwards of 70,000 people for football games and other events, and we are confident in state, local and federal officials to be able to ensure a safe event for our attendees," she said. (Read more)

The prophetic communist threat to American Christians
The international COVID 19 response has enlightened the world to just how fast governments can move to restrict freedom and overrule basic rights, especially the right to free speech and religious expression. Combine this with the hatred expressed by the "hate doesn't live here" crowd if you don't agree with them on their pet issues, or even wearing a mask during these COVID 19 times. Then add in the massive movement in the news media and the Democratic Party toward socialism, lawlessness, and support for organizations like Antifa that promote fascism in the name of anti-fascism. We then have a formula for how fast your rights as a Christian can be trampled, your life endangered.
The revolution taking place in America is fomented by communist actors. Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors, for example, stated on The Real News Network July 23, 2015, "The first thing, I think, is that we actually do have an ideological frame. Myself and Alicia [co-founder Alicia Garza] in particular are trained organizers. We are trained Marxists. We are super-versed on, sort of, ideological theories." This opens the door for hypocrisy. Which matters most-Black lives or Marxism? Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and many leaders of the Democratic Party are socialists. They take issues that need to be addressed, use a little truth to make a better lie, wrap the words "rights" and "justice" around them, and hijack them, using activists as pawns, not to solve the issue, but to advance their Marxist agenda. They are ideological parasites.
Fascism, Marxism, Socialism, Communism-are all different flavors of the same poison. They pit people against one another, engender support, and when they win, they establish tyranny. Russia, China, Nicaragua, Cuba, Venezuela, and the list goes on and on. COVID 19 lockdowns are just the fire drill. You can see that religious freedoms have been taken away in many cases. COVID 19 may be where it begins, but look at a recent Christian Post article about China to see where it goes-cash rewards paid by the communist government to rat out Christians, whose houses are then raided, and officials removing Christian images replacing them with pictures of Chinese leaders, saying, "These are the greatest gods." Communism abolishes all religion, making the state the god of the people.
This is why communism is a prophetic threat. You, as a prophetic person, have a job to do-As Christ stated in Matthew 28:18-20, "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you." In America, we have the right to do this freely. But all those socialist warriors mentioned in this Jot would gleefully remove your right to the free exercise of religion AND your free speech when it conflicts with their political/Marxist agenda. In this country, we have been blessed with liberty in Christ and by law. Don't be deceived by communism. It threatens our prophetic destiny.

As names are discussed in various quarters, we want to share some thoughts with you regarding the prospects, but also the process. The "process" of developing a new list is probably as important as the "prospects" because the prospects are a product of the process. In other words, a deficient process is unlikely to yield excellent prospects.
So, before we highlight some of the better prospects, here are some thoughts on the process.

Don't Miss The Pence Speech Dan Bongino Says He 'Couldn't Stop Watching'
Vice President Mike Pence . . . told a crowd Friday in Ripon, Wisconsin - the birthplace of the Republican Party - that it was "a time for choosing" between two different visions of America.
It was a speech that conservative pundit, author and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino says he "couldn't stop watching."
"Joe Biden would be nothing more than an autopen president, a Trojan horse for a radical agenda - so radical, so all-encompassing that it would transform this country into something utterly unrecognizable," Pence said in the remarks at Ripon College.
"The Biden-Sanders agenda would set America on the path of socialism and decline. And as our nation endures this time of testing, we'd do well to tell our neighbors and friends that it's also the time for choosing.
"We need to tell our fellow Americans that we can choose to stay on a path that starts from the belief in the goodness of the American people, that starts from the premise that America is exceptional, is founded on freedom, and always striving for a more perfect union," he continued.
Or, Pence warned, we could go down the primrose path of socialism - the same way, Pence said, one of our closest geopolitical neighbors did.
"Just last week, President Trump spoke at a roundtable with a Cuban immigrant by the name of Maximo Alvarez. Maximo escaped communist Cuba when he was 13. He was one of the last kids to flee with a group of nuns whose convent had been taken over by the communist dictator that Bernie Sanders praised in the past," Pence said.
"Maximo had a stark warning for our country at that forum. He said, and I quote, 'What's happening in our backyard today, I experienced as an 11-year-old.' Maximo went on to say, 'I remember vividly all the promises that Castro gave. I remember the promises that we hear today about free education, free health care, free land.'
"And then he recalled what his father told him about the glory of being an American. Maximo said that his father told him, 'Don't lose that place, because if you lose that place, you'll have no place to go.' America is a beacon of hope and freedom for all the world."

COMET NEOWISE ABOVE A FLORIDA THUNDERSTORM
"Comet NEOWISE is still visible to the unaided eye," reports University of Florida astronomy professor emeritus Howard Cohen. He took this photo on July 19th, recording the comet easily despite Gaineville's light pollution, evening twilight, and flashes of lightning.
"This is a 5 second exposure at ISO 400," he says. "I took it about 55 minutes after local sunset. I'd say that the comet's nucleus is about as bright as a star of magnitude +3.6, and at least 5 degrees of tail was visible in my 12x binoculars."
Comet NEOWISE is now in the constellation Ursa Major. To find it, look north-northwest after sunset and let the stars of the Big Dipper be your guide. Sky maps: July 20, 21, 22.

Marriages Restored, Families Healed, Explosion of Salvations Continue in Georgia Awakening
God is on the move in central Georgia. For several weeks now, thousands of people have been gathering in the small town of Roberta, located about a half-hour southwest of Macon, for the "Central Georgia Awakening" revival.
The revival is now in its seventh week, with plans for the eighth to begin on Monday. However, the idea for the revival surfaced much earlier.
"It started back at the beginning of the year. Pastor Chet Cooper of the Crossroad Bible Church invited us down to preach a meeting back in the first of the year, and God just moved mightily, and souls began to be saved," Evangelist D.R. Harrison of Voice of Hope Evangelistic Ministries told CBN News.
"And Brother Chet at the end of the meeting said, 'Brother D.R., would you pray about bringing the big Gospel tent to central Georgia?'" Harrison continued. "And I said, 'Absolutely.'"
"And COVID started hitting strong, and we just began to pray and seek God's face," Harrison said. "And one thing led to another, and businessmen and the community started gathering around it."
"And on June 1, we had the first service, and God has just moved in an unbelievable way," he emphasized.
