"And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine."(Ezekiel 47:12 KJV)

Happy Birthday, Melania!!
Trump wishes 'great First Lady' Melania a happy 50th birthday
First Lady Melania Trump received happy birthday greetings from a number of well-wishers on Sunday, including her husband, President Trump. "Happy Birthday to Melania, our great First Lady!," the president wrote on Twitter.
Melania Trump, who turned 50 on Sunday, is expected to celebrate like most Americans during the coronavirus pandemic - at home. Her chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, said the first lady will spend her birthday with family at the White House, Fox Business reported.
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany also tweeted birthday greetings. "Happy Birthday to @FLOTUS - America is so blessed to have you as our First Lady!" she said in a posting.
The Republican Party also weighed in. "RT to wish our wonderful @FLOTUS a very happy birthday!," the GOP said on Twitter, drawing nearly 6,000 retweets by Sunday afternoon.
The first lady was born on April 26, 1970, and moved to the US from Slovenia in 1996. The former fashion model married Trump in 2005, and their son, Barron, was born the following year.
Melania Trump as first lady has promoted her BeBest campaign against online bullying. As part of that effort, the first lady on Thursday sent care packages of blankets, backpacks, Dr. Seuss books and games to staff and kids at hospitals in 10 states - "just a small token of my appreciation for their courage and leadership in this time," she said. 1. Israel's Labor party agrees to join Netanyahu-led coalition - Israel National News
Israel's left-wing Labor party, traditionally a staunch opponent of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, voted Sunday to join a coalition government he is set to lead. At a party conference held virtually because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, 64.2 percent of nearly 3,500 voting Labor delegates endorsed the alliance agreed last week between Netanyahu and his center-left election rival Benny Gantz.
"We are not joining a right-wing government," Labor leader Amir Peretz said in a statement. "We are joining an egalitarian unity government with power-sharing."
Labor had backed Gantz's efforts to form a government following Israel's three inconclusive elections over the past year.

2. Likud officials: If High Court meddles with deal, we'll go to 4th elections - Times of Israel
Senior officials from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party on Friday warned that if the High Court intervenes next week over the coalition deal signed by Netanyahu and Blue and White party chief Benny Gantz, Israel would be dragged into a fourth round of elections.
The officials told Channel 12 news that, because the agreement is so complex and delicate, even a small intervention would throw it out of balance and end the precarious unity agreement.
Blue and White party representatives acknowledged that Likud has the ability to dismantle the government and bring about elections, the report said.

3. UN, EU officials warn new Israeli government against annexing West Bank - Times of Israel
Senior officials in the European Union and United Nations on Thursday warned Israel not to annex parts of the West Bank, after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz signed a coalition agreement saying the move could potentially go ahead as early as July.
The European Union foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, issued a stark warning against the intention to annex parts of the West Bank, saying that such a move "would constitute a serious violation of international law."
Borrell said the 27-member bloc does not recognize Israeli sovereignty over the territory and that it will "continue to closely monitor the situation and its broader implications, and will act accordingly."

4. Netanyahu: Annexation Will Happen 'a Couple of Months From Now' With Trump's Support - Algemeiner
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that the Trump administration will support the annexation of large parts of the West Bank, and pledged that a decision on doing so would come "a couple of months from now."
Unilateral annexation was proposed after the publication of the Trump peace plan earlier this year, and was a major sticking point in recent negotiations on forming an Israeli unity government.
Under the terms of the coalition deal, Netanyahu can propose a law annexing parts of the West Bank in July, contingent on the approval of the White House. Speaking to an online event celebrating 100 years since the San Remo conference, which anchored the idea of a Jewish state in international law, Netanyahu told the evangelical Christian group the European Coalition for Israel that he is "confident" annexation is inevitable.

5. Danish Bible Society denies censoring 'Israel' in new Bible translation, admits to removing 'sin' - Christian Post
The Danish Bible Society has dismissed reports that its new Bible translation omits several mentions of Israel, substituting it for words such as "us" and "the Jews," saying its translation is for nonreligious readers.
Jan Frost, a resident of Denmark and supporter of Israel, drew attention to the issue when he showed that there were 59 omissions of Israel in the new translation.
This includes "the People of Israel" being replaced with "Jews" and "Land of Israel" being changed to "the land of Jews," The Times of Israel reports.
Other references to Israel were changed to refer to all readers or all of humanity. For example, The Times of Israel notes that in the new translation the word Israel in the verse "He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep" was changed to "us."

6. Israel Thwarts Major Coordinated Cyber-Attack on Its Water Infrastructure Command and Control Systems - The Algemeiner
Israel thwarted a major cyber-attack on its water infrastructure over the weekend.
In a statement, Israel's National Cyber Directorate announced, "Reports have been received by the National Cyber Directorate about attempted attacks on command and control systems of wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and sewage."
The Directorate called on the relevant companies and institutions to change their internet passwords immediately, reduce their internet connections, and ensure they were updated to the latest versions of their control software.
Israeli daily Yediot Ahronot reported that the Directorate and Israel's Water Authority issued a follow-up statement saying that the attempted attacks were "handled" and "it should be emphasized that there was no damage to the water supply." The statement added that the attacks appear to have been coordinated. The attacks took place on Friday and Saturday throughout Israel, Yediot stated.
A letter was sent to the heads of companies affected by the attacks, and they were told to immediately report any disruption in operations, particularly in regard to the use of chlorine in water supplies.
The companies were also told to disconnect from the internet completely if an attack could not be contained.

- Father God, we thank You that You moved quickly to protect all of Israel's citizens from this potential and vicious attack on their water supplies. Thank You, O Lord, we pray, amen.
- " . . . it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence." (Psalm 91:3)
7. Health Ministry Number Two: Current Wave of Israel's Virus Outbreak Over - Bridges for Peace
Thursday, 23 April 2020 | Health Ministry's Deputy Director General Prof. Itamar Grotto said yesterday that the current wave of the coronavirus outbreak in Israel has reached its peak and has begun to subside.
"We can say we have stopped the current wave of the outbreak," said the Health Ministry's No. 2 in an interview with Ynet.
He warned, however, that a new wave of COVID-19 might be around the corner if the economy and the education system is reopened too soon. "Even 200 new patients a day could be the spark of a new epidemic."
"It [the new wave] will be much harder to contain in contrast to two months ago, where most infected came from abroad and we could quarantine them." (Read more)
- Thank the Lord for the decreasing number of coronavirus infections in Israel. Pray that the nation will proceed with caution, trusting the Lord but doing their due diligence, maintaining lifesaving restrictions as long as they are truly necessary. Pray that the economic impact on the nation will not be significant.
- "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me." (Psalm 23:4)
8. Never Again: Israel Marks Holocaust Remembrance Day - BFP
Tuesday, 21 April 2020 | Today is different-doubly so.
Sundown last night in Israel ushered in Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. It is a somber day, 24 hours set aside every year to remember the six million Jewish people murdered by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Holocaust. On this day, Israel also remembers those who lived through the atrocities, who passed through the living hell and emerged to find every shred of their former lives erased. On this day, Israel remembers all the victims of the Holocaust-those who perished and those who survived.
More than 70 years ago, the Nazis and their collaborators set about their mission of exterminating every trace of Jewish life from the face of the earth with chilling zeal and grisly efficiency. Within the course of a decade, European Jewry all but disappeared, collected from urban and rural homes and swept into the yawning voids of concentration camps, crematoriums and mass graves. When the gates of the concentration camps opened and the din of war finally came to an end, six million Jews were murdered.
The figures are staggering; the timeframe in which they were tallied up ridiculously short. But more than anything, the Holocaust brings with it an overwhelming sense of loss. It is a gaping hole where an entire generation of mothers, fathers, siblings, family and friends should have been.
And so, as the sun set over the Jewish homeland last night, Israel mourned a generation of loved ones who were lost. That is why today is different. (Read more)
- Pray that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will make His presence known to every Holocaust survivor in Israel as they sit in isolation, especially at this time that is usually very meaningful for them and for the nation as a whole. Pray that they will find comfort and peace for their souls. Beseech Him for generosity on the part of Christians around the world as Bridges for Peace seeks badly needed funds to help meet the needs of these precious children of God.
- "You number my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle; are they not in Your book? When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me. For You have delivered my soul from death. Have You not kept my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?" (Psalm 56:8-9,13)

The Daily Brief
1. Fauci's absence from recent coronavirus briefings draws notice - MSN.com
Until this week, Dr. Anthony Fauci was a near-constant presence at the daily coronavirus task force briefings at the White House. As the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for 35 years, his expertise on the global pandemic has been a reassuring force for millions of Americans concerned about how COVID-19 has uprooted their lives.
While Fauci gave media interviews throughout the week, his absence at the podium was notable given the president's controversial remarks a day earlier about using light and disinfectants to possibly treat the deadly respiratory illness. And though Fauci regularly shares his decades-long infectious disease knowledge publicly, one administration official suggested there's a preference that Fauci do more of that behind closed doors so it doesn't appear he's on such a different page from the president. "You are here in a certain role, you've got to give advice privately," this official said.
Members of the president's task force have taken notice of Fauci's diminished public profile, as well. There is mounting frustration among some of them with Fauci, who has, at times, publicly contradicted President Trump. Adding to the tensions, some officials complain they feel caught off guard by some of Fauci's media Interviews. When asked why he was only at the briefing once this week, an administration official tells NBC News that Fauci "does have other responsibilities at NIH. Just because he is not at the briefing does not mean he's not actively involved in task force meetings and briefings."
White House Deputy Press Secretary Judd Deere was more direct, telling NBC News that "despite the media's ridiculous efforts to somehow create distance between the president and his top health experts, it is simply fake news." (Read more)
- Father, we ask that You direct Dr. Fauci to stand strong with President Trump so there will be a respectful unified front. Hold back any ungodly criticism. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." (Ephesians 4:3)
2. Trump Muses That Virus Briefings 'Not Worth the Time and Effort'- MSN.com
President Donald Trump has been determined to talk his way through the coronavirus crisis, but frequent misstatements at his daily news conferences have caused a litany of public health and political headaches for the White House.
On Friday, Trump sought to clean up his briefing room riff from the day before about the possibility of fighting coronavirus infection in patients with chemical disinfectant or sunlight -- a dangerous idea that doctors and a manufacturer of cleaning products felt obliged to publicly warn against.
By Saturday, Trump suggested the briefings, which have become a televised daily substitute for his campaign rallies, were "not worth the time and effort," a day after a report that he plans to scale back such appearances.
Trump on Friday said he had "sarcastically" suggested Americans be injected with disinfectant. The president's new spokeswoman also sought to clarify his remarks. "President Trump has repeatedly said that Americans should consult with medical doctors regarding coronavirus treatment, a point that he emphasized again during yesterday's briefing," the press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, said in a statement. "Leave it to the media to irresponsibly take President Trump out of context and run with negative headlines." (Read more)
- Almighty God, we pray that You will lead President Trump every step of the way to understand and guide Americans today. The briefings have been understood and followed, for which we are thankful. Now God, we pray Trump will hear the voice of the Lord as he goes day-by-day listening to godly direction from the Lord. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 10:32)
3. WH officials discuss HHS secretary replacement following criticism of pandemic response: WSJ - The Hill
Trump administration officials have discussed replacing Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Alex Azar after his handling of the early days of the coronavirus pandemic has come under fire, six sources familiar with the situation told The Wall Street Journal. The Journal's sources said that while the administration has expressed apprehension about shaking up top HHS personnel during the pandemic, they did note that frustration with Azar has been building in recent weeks. The officials, however, didn't indicate to the Journal if a personnel change was imminent.
Earlier this month, in a tweet said Azar "told me nothing until later," in response to questions about why the president didn't take action against the pandemic earlier. White House spokesman Judd Deere denied that any kind of firing was forthcoming. "The Department of Health and Human Services, under the leadership of Secretary Azar, continues to lead on a number of the President's priorities," Deere told the Journal. "Any speculation about personnel is irresponsible and a distraction from our whole-of-government response to COVID-19." A HHS spokeswoman told the publication Saturday: "Secretary Azar is busy responding to a global, public health crisis and doesn't have time for palace intrigue." (Read more)
- Father God, we pray that You will clean up and expose all the vague intrigue with Alex Azar's actions. Reveal to President Trump all that is hidden so that he can make sound decisions in handling the HHS. As God sees from heaven, so let it be revealed to President Trump regarding this matter. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man." (Psalm 60:11)
4. Deficit to soar to nearly $4T as economy buckles, CBO says - POLITICO
The current economic downturn will drag on for months, with double-digit unemployment rates rocking the labor market and a deficit ballooning to $3.7 trillion this year, the Congressional Budget Office said in a grim projection Friday. The independent budget agency estimated that the unemployment rate will rise to 16 percent later this year, dropping to 9.5 percent by the end of 2021. By that time, the labor force will have "about 6 million fewer people," CBO noted.
Improvements in the economy are forecast beginning in the third quarter of this year, but a "sharp contraction" will persist through the end of June, the agency said. "In the third quarter, economic activity is expected to increase, as concerns about the pandemic diminish and state and local governments ease stay-at-home orders, bans on public gatherings, and other measures restraining economic activity," CBO said. "However, challenges in the economy and the labor market are expected to persist for some time. Interest rates on federal borrowing are expected to remain quite low in relation to rates in recent decades."
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, meanwhile, has said Congress should hit pause on delivering more relief and take stock of the "extraordinary numbers that we're racking up to the national debt." Responding to CBO's grim projections, Republican Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska warned about the effects of the nation's fiscal burden on future generations. "Republicans and Democrats maxed out the credit cards during good times and now, when we're in the middle of the coronavirus' health and economic crises, we're facing a bleak future," he said in a statement. "None of this is sustainable. If politicians continue to ignore the problem, this debt will crush our kids." (Read more)
- Almighty God, we take refuge in the fact that You are Lord over all. None of this has taken You by surprise. So we lift up all these numbers to You, and ask for divine miracles. We look to You for all the answers for it is only in Your wisdom that all this can be worked out. We submit to Your authority and guidance as we stand on Your Word for daily strength. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' Name we pray.
- "And they sang the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb Jesus, saying, Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty, just and true are Your ways,You King of saints." (Revelation 15:3)
5. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin tells 'Fox News Sunday' when he thinks economy will bounce back - Fox News
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin predicts that the trillions of dollars Congress has poured into the economy in coronavirus relief packages will pay off in July, August and September, as states slowly begin to allow businesses to reopen.
Mnuchin told "Fox News Sunday" that he believes the steps being taken now will yield results in the summer months. "I think as we begin to reopen the economy in May and June, you're going to see the economy really bounce back in July, August, September," Mnuchin said. "And we are putting in an unprecedented amount of fiscal relief into the economy. You're seeing trillions of dollars that's making its way into the economy and I think this is going to have a significant impact."
The secretary downplayed projections from the Congressional Budget Office about a low GDP and high unemployment, as well as a Goldman Sachs prediction that the overall global impact will be four times worse than the 2008 economic crash.
"All these models are based on health assumptions, how quickly we reopen, so we'll see," he said, touting liquidity from programs such as the Paycheck Protection Program, enhanced unemployment benefits, and direct payments to Americans. "As businesses begin to open, you're going to see demand side of the economy rebound," he said.(Read more)
- Father, we ask for Your mercy over the amount of relief money that is being released into the nation. We take authority over the words spoken by the CBO and Goldman Sachs, and command them to come to nothing. We ask for the move of Your Spirit over our nation, bringing new life both for the people and for the economy.
- "He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly." (Proverbs 2:7)
6. Biden accuser Tara Reade 'lost total respect' for CNN's Anderson Cooper for not asking former VP about assault claim - Fox News
The woman who has accused Joe Biden of a sexual assault in the early 1990s says she's disappointed that CNN anchor Anderson Cooper failed to ask the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee about the allegation when he had the chance -- not once, but twice.
Tara Reade, a former staffer for then-Sen. Biden, told her story about the former vice president over a month ago with progressive podcast host Katie Halper. Since then, Biden has done nearly a dozen TV interviews with news anchors including NBC News' Chuck Todd, ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, and twice with Cooper -- all of whom failed to ask Biden about her public claim.
"I think it's shocking that this much time has passed and that he is an actual nominee for president and they're not asking the questions," Reade told Fox News. "He's been on 'Anderson Cooper' at least twice where he was not asked." "I guess my question is, if this were Donald Trump, would they treat it the same way? If this were Brett Kavanaugh, did they treat it the same way?" Reade said. "In other words, it's politics and political agenda playing a role in objective reporting and asking the question."
Reade believes that the news anchors who have interviewed Biden "don't want to ask him" about her assault allegation. "There are two things happening at once. [Biden] is not making himself accessible to be asked the question. And when he does make himself accessible, they are not asking, those anchors. And so that tells there may be a political agenda behind that and that's gross. I'm a survivor and I would like the question asked." (Read more)
- Almighty God, we pray Ms. Reade's case will be brought to light. They consider not in their hearts that God remembers all their wickedness. He knows all their transgressions and their mighty sins that afflict the just, and they turn aside the poor in the gate without hearing the validity of her argument. Give her grace and mercy. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "For My eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from My face, neither is their iniquity hid from My eyes, says the Lord." (Jeremiah 16:17)
7. Pompeo warns Iran's space program is 'dangerous' - Fox News
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blasted Iran's satellite launch this week as "dangerous" and "provocative" and urged the international community to intervene. "For years, Iran has claimed its space program is purely peaceful and civilian," Pompeo said in a statement Saturday. "The Trump Administration has never believed this fiction. This week's launch of a military satellite by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, makes clear what we have said all along: Iran's space program is neither peaceful nor entirely civilian."
Iran's Revolutionary Guard launched its first satellite into space Wednesday, dramatically revealing what experts described as a secret military space program that could advance its ballistic missile development amid wider tensions between the Islamic Republic and the U.S. Using a mobile launcher at a new launch site, the Guard said it put the "Noor," or "Light," satellite into a low orbit circling the Earth.
Iranian state TV late Wednesday showed footage of what it said was the satellite and said it had orbited the earth within 90 minutes. It said the satellite's signals were being received. Pompeo said the launch proved that Iran was spreading falsehoods when it repeatedly claimed that its space program was peaceful. "The most recent military launch, which was developed and conducted in secret, proves that these statements were lies," Pompeo said. (Read more)
- Heavenly Father, we pray that the heavens reveal Iran's iniquity, and the earth rise up against them. We pray their hatred is covered by defeat, and their wickedness shall be shown before the whole world. God bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known." (Luke 12:2)
8. Trump, Putin issue joint commemorative statement triggering concerns from government officials - The Hill
President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a joint statement on Saturday commemorating the 75th anniversary of a World War II meeting of U.S. and Soviet troops at the Elbe river in 1945. "As we work today to confront the most important challenges of the 21st century, we pay tribute to the valor and courage of all those who fought together to defeat fascism," the statement read.
Those familiar with the statement's drafting said that its issuance is symbolic, noting that the intent is to prove to the public that the nations can "put aside their differences," according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. "The 'Spirit of the Elbe' is an example of how our countries can put aside differences, build trust, and cooperate in pursuit of a greater cause," it reads, according to the Journal. Such statements are rare, with the last one occurring in 2010 between former President Obama and then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
According to the Journal, the decision to issue the statement was controversial among Trump administration officials at the Pentagon and State Department, many of whom have been skeptical of Moscow's intentions and complained about Russia with regard to several issues. The officials pointed to Russia's intervention in Ukraine and its aid to Syrian President Bashar Assad for his offensive in the country's Idlib province. The U.S. also charges that Russia has spread disinformation about the coronavirus pandemic and interfered in U.S. campaigns.
Lawmakers and congressional aides also expressed concern that this statement would undo the stern messages the U.S. has sent to Moscow, according to people familiar with the situation, the Journal reported. One former U.S. government official claimed that the statement was a Russian initiative. "I am sure this was a Russian initiative," Angela Stent, a former U.S. intelligence analyst and author of "Putin's World," told the Journal. "Putin wants validation from the United States that today's Russia like the Soviet Union is a great power." (Read more)
- Father God, we pray that the hidden meaning of this statement will be revealed to President Trump and that there be no surprise attacks against the United States. Hold the reigns on Putin and all his evil ways that he is not allowed by God to bring harm to our nation. Restrict Vladimir Putin from setting a trap so that he will be broken in all his deception. We pray in the Name of Jesus.
- "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." (Psalm 90:12)
9. Kim Jong Un in a 'vegetative state' after heart surgery - Japanese Media
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's health is reportedly in a vegetative state after undergoing a failed cardiovascular procedure earlier this month, according to the medical team treating him.
Amid conflicting reports about Kim's health, Japanese weekly magazine Shukan Gendai reported on Friday that a Chinese medical team member on the mission to North Korea briefly explained the situation to its senior writer, Kondm Daisuke.
The medical expert said during a visit to the countryside earlier this month, Kim clutched his chest and fell to the ground. A doctor accompanying Kim immediately carried out CPR and took him to a nearby hospital for emergency care.
China has dispatched a team to North Korea including medical experts to advise on him, according to four people familiar with the situation.
Reuters was unable to immediately determine what the trip by the Chinese team signaled in terms of Kim's health. However Shukan Gendai's report claims they were called to the leader's aid by his accompanying doctor after the incident. (Read more)
- "Almighty God, we pray for the greatest need this man has, and that is for him to have a deep heart-felt repentance for the sins he has committed and ask for forgiveness. Only You know his future. He will one day give an account for all his deeds when he stands before God at the Great White Throne Judgment. We pray he repents. and abandons his evil works. His life is in Your hands, Lord. In the Name of Jesus we pray.
- "And the angel swore by Him that lives forever and ever, who created heaven, the earth, and the sea, and the things that are therein, that there should be time no longer." (Revelation 10:6)
10. Iran's President Says Tehran Watches US Closely, but Won't Start Conflict - The Algemeiner
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Saturday that Tehran was closely following US activities, but would never initiate a conflict in the region. Rouhani's comments, which come at a time of rising tension between Washington and Tehran, were made during a telephone call to Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Iranian state media reported.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran follows America's activities and movements closely, but it will never be the one that starts conflict and tension in the region," Rouhani was quoted as saying during the call, held due to the start of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had instructed the US Navy to fire on any Iranian ships that harass it at sea.
Earlier this month, the US military said 11 Revolutionary Guards naval vessels came close to US Navy and Coast Guard ships in the Gulf, calling the moves "dangerous and provocative." Tehran blamed its long-time adversary for the incident. (Read more)
- Father God, we pray in the Spirit over these threats. We ask that You change the hearts of the leaders of the nation of Iran, that we might enjoy peace. In Your Name, Amen.
- "So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding." (I Corinthians 14:15)
11. Pentagon leaders at impasse about next steps for Capt. Brett Crozier: report - The Hill
Top Pentagon officials have reached an impasse about whether or not to reinstate Capt. Brett Crozier, the former commander of the USS Theodore Roosevelt, after the nation's top military officer called for a deeper probe into the events leading up to his removal, according to Politico.
The news comes following the Navy's recommendation Friday to let Crozier return to his previous position. Crozier was removed from his post aboard the Roosevelt recently after a letter he wrote pleading for help amid a coronavirus outbreak aboard the aircraft carrier was leaked to the press. Though the Navy has recommended that Crozier be reinstated, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley wants a "full-blown investigation" into the events leading up to the Crozier's ouster, a pair of Pentagon sources told Politico. Milley's push for further investigation would delay a final decision on Crozier's reinstatement.
One Pentagon official told the publication that the Navy already conducted an "extensive" preliminary inquiry into the events that led to Crozier's dismissal. "Milley isn't faulting Crozier," the official said. "He wants more than just an inquiry . . . that's the holdup."
The Pentagon leaders are now at odds about the decision to reinstate the Navy captain. While Milley wants a deeper probe into the situation, top Navy officials are ready to welcome Crozier back to his post, according to the news outlet. (Read more)
- Father, we trust You to guide those involved in calling for a deeper probe into the events leading up to Capt. Crozier's removal so the truth will be found and accepted. Clear his name, on the one hand, or expose his wrongdoing on the other, so he can be reinstated to his previous position. We pray in Jesus' Name.
- "God has spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongs unto God. Also unto You, O Lord, belongs mercy: for You render to every man according to his work." (Psalm 62:11-12)
Please Intercede Over Our Economy
White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett says unemployment rate will approach Great Depression
White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett warned on Sunday that unemployment could hit levels not seen since the Great Depression as the economy contracts dramatically while businesses in most parts of the nation remain shuttered due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to reporters on the White House lawn on Sunday morning, Hassett said the unemployment rate could hit 16% and "the next couple of months are going to be terrible" for economic data.
"We see an unemployment rate that approaches rates we saw during the Great Depression," Hassett told ABC's "This Week." "During the Great Recession we lost 8.7 million jobs in the whole thing. Now we're losing that many every 10 days, so the lift for economic policy makers is an extraordinary one."
Hassett described the coronavirus shutdown as "the biggest negative shock that our economy I think has ever seen."
President Donald Trump said earlier this week that in a phone call with Apple CEO Tim Cook, the tech leader said he expected a V-shaped recovery, meaning a quick rebound after a sharp fall. Hassett said on ABC that a V-shaped recovery will depend on the next response from the federal government.
"A lot will depend on what happens next," Hassett said about the chances of seeing a V-shaped economic rebound rather than a longer U-shaped return to economic growth. "What we've done with the previous legislation is built a bridge hopefully to the other side of the disease, but then we have to make sure we have what it takes to prosper. " (MSNBC) Read more.
- Father God, today marks 40 DAYS since the shutdown began, and businesses shuttered their doors. Abba Father God, we know that You are the Holy One and that You hold all things in Your hands. Just as you did for the Israelites in the time of Moses, Father God we ask You to move upon our people now, by a sovereign act of Your grace, setting us free from this economic bondage. We ask in Your name, amen.
- Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, 'This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: "Let my people go, so that they may worship me."(Exodus 9:1)

The Significance of Today:
After the 40 Day Quarantine
by Dr. Jim Garlow
Sunday, April 26, 2020
CAUTION: This article is not intended for persons to drop their guard. I am still in my home. I wear a mask, gloves and protective eyewear as needed. I wash my hands often. I am cautious and careful. We all should be.
THE BEGINNING OF THE END: However, America is beginning to re-awaken. Businesses are - with great discretion and strict protocols - re-opening. Parks and beaches are opening. In phases, America is "coming back to life."
SIGNFICANCE: While we have to continue to exercise wisdom and caution, this "season" of quarantine has a symbolic - as well as a literal - meaning.
THE BEGINNING: When did America begin its quarantine? The first Sunday that churches were closed was Sunday, March 15. Although there is some variation from state to state, the first quarantined weekday that affected a large swath of businesses across America - as nearly as I can tell - is Monday, March 16.
THE MEANING OF QUARANTINE: Today is the 41st day. Is that significant? Possibly. The word "quarantine" means a state, period or place of isolation designed to stop the exposure to a contagious disease. In Italian quaranta means 40. Quarantina means 40 days. By the mid seventeenth century the word "quarantine" was in common use, from the Italian quarantina. It originated from the Venetian dialect, with the words quaranta giorrni, that is 40 days. Closely related is the French word quarantaine which - not surprisingly - means "a period of 40 days," coming from the Latin quadranginta, meaning 40.

The Schiff people say
There are some outrageous claims being reported and passed on by the news media that probably shouldn't even be stories. On a Friday evening interview with MSNBC's Chris Hayes, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) said over 50,000 Americans have died because the US Senate didn't vote to remove President Donald Trump from office in February. He said that House democrats believed Trump could damage America, but "I don't think we had any idea how much damage he would go on to do in the months ahead. There are 50,000 Americans now who are dead, in significant part because of his incompetence, because of his inability to think beyond himself and put the country first."
Let's unpack this statement. Schiff, who led a relentless impeachment effort against Trump, is saying that Trump and the Republican-led Senate are responsible for all the American COVID-19 deaths- because the Senate didn't remove Trump from office, and Trump, because of his alleged incompetence. This inflammatory and extremely outrageous statement should be reason enough to remove Schiff from office. Instead of puffing their chest out in agreement, the news media should be pointing out how ridiculous Schiff's statement is and how it does not remotely have any factual basis. It is less factual than saying had the House not been vigorously prosecuting impeachment, Trump may have prevented COVID-19.
Here is a chronology of House actions provided by Breitbart News: "The House-after a four-week delay-transferred the articles of impeachment to the Senate on Jan. 15, the day the first coronavirus patient arrived in the U.S. from Wuhan, China. Congress did nothing about the pandemic during the trial. Meanwhile, the president formed the coronavirus task force the week of Jan. 27 and imposed the travel ban on Jan. 31. The Democrat-controlled House held its first hearing on coronavirus on Feb. 5- the day Trump was acquitted in the Senate. Schiff, who said nothing about coronavirus in its early days, is now pushing for legislation to create a "9/11 commission" for evaluating the president's response to the pandemic."

A Classic Hymn

WE HAVE AN ANCHOR
"An anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19)
Lyrics
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?
Refrain
We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior's love.
It is safely moored, 'twill the storm withstand,
For 'tis well secured by the Savior's hand;
And the cables, passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy that blast, thro' strength divine.
Refrain
It will surely hold in the Straits of Fear-
When the breakers have told that the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o'erflow.
Refrain
It will firmly hold in the Floods of Death-
When the waters cold chill our latest breath,
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the Veil.
Refrain
When our eyes behold through the gath'ring night
The city of gold, our harbor bright,
We shall anchor fast by the heav'nly shore,
With the storms all past forevermore.
Refrain

THE STRANGE EFFECT OF COVID-19 ON RADIO ASTRONOMY
A strange quiet has descended over the shortwave radio spectrum--and the reason might be COVID-19. Amateur radio astronomer Thomas Ashcraft noticed the effect from his observatory in rural New Mexico. "The quiet comes partly from Solar Minimum, but I believe it also comes from the relative calm of the COVID-19 lockdown. There is so much less truck, airplane and general machine-generated noise," says Ashcraft.
On April 16th he recorded a radio storm on Jupiter. Aside from the gentle "swoosh" of Jupiter bursts, the recording is almost completely free of normal static.
The sounds you just heard are caused by natural radio lasers in Jupiter's magnetosphere. Electrical currents flowing between Jupiter's upper atmosphere and the volcanic moon Io can boost these emissions to power levels easily detectable by ham radio antennas on Earth.
Ashcraft has been monitoring natural radio emissions from Jupiter, the sun and meteors for many years--but never quite like now. "This may be a uniquely radio-quiet period in time," he says.
"I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke." (Acts 2:19)

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners
Our Mission Statement
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God." [Romans 13:1]
