"Standing United Together . . . Under the Cross of Christ"
TODAY'S TOP STORY
‘Unprecedented, Unreasonable, Unconstitutional, and Wrong’

During a status hearing Friday afternoon for Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, an Army reservist arrested on January 15 for his involvement in the January 6 protest in Washington, D.C., an assistant U.S. attorney admitted the government will not meet its discovery obligations for all Capitol defendants until early 2022.

Kathyrn Fifield, the lead attorney representing the Justice Department, informed Judge Trevor McFadden that the “incalculable” volume of video collected by the government related to the Capitol breach investigation will prevent defendants and their lawyers from accessing the full body of evidence against them for several more months. “No system exists to wrap its arms around [all this evidence],” Fifield told McFadden. This includes at least 14,000 hours of surveillance video plus thousands of hours of body-worn camera footage from law enforcement.

Fifield resisted setting a 2021 trial date for Hale; McFadden and Jonathan Crisp, Hale’s court-appointed attorney, told the government last month that unless a plea arrangement was agreed upon, a trial would be set for later this year because Hale already has been incarcerated for more than six months. “If we do set a trial date, the government cannot meet discovery obligations until early 2022. That’s a conservative estimate,” Fifield said.

Despite arresting more than 550 people since January 6, the government still has no platform for posting, sharing, and transferring digital evidence. “Due to the extraordinary nature of the January 6, 2021 Capitol Attack, the government anticipates that a large volume of materials may contain information relevant to this prosecution,” Fifield wrote in a July 14 filing. “These materials may include, but are not limited to, surveillance video, statements of similarly situated defendants, forensic searches of electronic devices and social media accounts of similarly situated defendants, and citizen tips. The government is working to develop a system that will facilitate access to these materials.”

At one point, the Justice Department was sharing digital evidence on Blu Ray discs. (Source: American Greatness) Read more here.

- Lord, we stand against this egregious, unconstitutional action by the government and declare that their plans will unravel quickly. We pray for Your strength and faith for those who have been arrested and left in jail without constitutional protections in the mighty name of Jesus!

- ''Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.'' (Proverbs 19:21)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Netanyahu warns of intelligence leaks from USA - Israel National News

Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at the Besheva conference in Jerusalem and hinted that sources in the Biden administration could leak information about actions Israel is planning against Iran.

Netanyahu referred to Foreign Minister Yair Lapid's statement according to which he and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken agreed on a policy of “no surprises” regarding Iran.

Netanyahu said: “In his first week in office, the alternate prime minister, Yair Lapid, goes and declares a policy of ‘no surprises’ vis-à-vis Iran. Do you know how many [American] administrations demanded this kind of policy? But I never once agreed to.”

Then the former Prime Minister explained: "The information provided to America will be leaked to the media and in this way our counterterrorism operations will be thwarted. This is why for the past decade I have refused the requests of American presidents that there be no surprises. I have never agreed to always commit to informing them. If we do not have independence in this matter, we have no independence at all." (Read more)

2. Israel reportedly given green light to retaliate against Iran - World Israel News

The U.S., Russia and Britain have given Israel tacit approval to retaliate against Iran for a deadly drone strike on an Israeli-operated ship on Thursday.

The report, in Kuwait’s Al-Jarida, quoting unnamed Western intelligence sources, suggested that Israel might target Iranian vessels, the ship from which the drones were launched, or an Iranian port.

Officials in Washington and London said they held Iran responsible for the attack on the Mercer Street, a ship owned by Israel tycoon Eyal Ofer. It was in the Gulf of Oman heading towards the United Arab Emirates when multiple suicide drones struck the ship’s bridge and living quarters.

The Romanian captain and a British security guard were killed. The Mercer Street was able to sail on its power to an undisclosed safe port, escorted by the U.S. Navy. (Read More)

3. Gantz urges action against Iran ‘right now’ in response to deadly drone attack - Times of Israel

Defense Minister Benny Gantz on Monday warned that Israel must act immediately against Tehran, after a ship managed by an Israeli-owned company was struck by a drone, apparently sent by Iran, last week.

Gantz described Thursday’s deadly attack on the Mercer Street oil tanker as a major escalation by Iran.

“Iran’s aggression in the region generally and on the maritime front, in particular, is intensifying,” Gantz said during a Knesset plenum session. “This is the exact reason that we must act right now against Iran, which not only strives for a nuclear military [program] but also is leading to a dangerous arms race and the crumbling of stability in the Middle East.”

There are “hundreds of Iranian UAVs in Iran, Yemen, Iraq and other countries,” Gantz warned. “In the past year, there have been no less than five Iranian attacks on international ships, some using UAVs manufactured by the Iranian military industry.” (Read more)

4. Israel’s Supreme Court pushes ‘compromise’ to keep Arab squatters in Jerusalem neighborhood - World Israel News

Israel’s Supreme Court on Monday floated what they said was a compromise that would prevent the evictions of dozens of Arabs living in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah.

Known as Shimon HaTzadik in Hebrew, the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood was originally home to a sizable Jewish population. Much of its land was owned by Ashkenazi and Sephardic religious cooperatives.

During the 1948 War of Independence, Jewish families were forced out and Arabs from other neighborhoods in Jerusalem, alongside a number of Jordanians, moved into the homes.

University of San Diego School of Law professor Avi Bell recently summarized the dispute as a “controversy … widely misreported as an effort by the State of Israel to evict a number of Palestinian Arab families from their ancestral homes in a purely Palestinian Arab neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem,” JNS reported. 5. 'Western Wall agreement to advance in winter' - coalition sources - Jerusalem Post

The government intends to advance the Western Wall agreement for a state-recognized, non-Orthodox prayer section at the holy site, but it has delayed doing so due to higher priorities, including passing the budget, coalition sources have said.
The agreement would upgrade the current egalitarian prayer section at the southern end of the Western Wall, grant it government recognition as a holy site and give Reform and Masorti (Conservative) representatives a place on the site’s governing committee.
It was passed as a government resolution in 2016 but was indefinitely suspended in 2017 due to pressure by the haredi (ultra-Orthodox) parties United Torah Judaism and Shas.
In theory, the government decision of 2017 to suspend implementation could be reversed by a simple vote in the cabinet, which would allow the government to start implementing the agreement. (Read more)

6. BREAKING!

There are “hundreds of Iranian UAVs in Iran, Yemen, Iraq and other countries,” Gantz warned. “In the past year, there have been no less than five Iranian attacks on international ships, some using UAVs manufactured by the Iranian military industry.”

Two people were killed on board the Mercer Street oil tanker — a British and a Romanian national. Thursday’s drone attack was blamed on Iran by Israel, the US, the UK and Romania. (Read more)

1. Democrats Advance Plan Allowing DACA Illegals to Work on Capitol Hill (breitbart.com)

House Democrats have advanced a plan that would allow hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens enrolled in former President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program to take jobs in the United States Congress.

Late last week, in a 215-207 vote, House Democrats passed a spending bill funding the legislative branch which included allowing DACA illegal aliens to take jobs on Capitol Hill working for members of Congress.

“The bill includes language permitting the Legislative Branch agencies it funds to employ Dreamers … who hold employment authorization under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program,” a summary of the spending bill reads.

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), Chair of the House Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee, praised the spending bill’s passage, specifically the provision allowing DACA illegal aliens to take Capitol Hill jobs.

“I am also pleased that we are helping ensure our workforce reflects the diversity of our nation, including by increasing funding for paid internships and allowing DACA recipients to work in the halls of Congress,” Ryan said in a statement.

The spending bill now heads to the Senate for approval.

House Democrats’ slipping the DACA employment provision into the legislative spending bill comes as Senate Democrats aim to place an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens into a federal spending package despite acknowledging that they do not have enough support for the measure.

- Lord, we pray that this plan will fail. Let no hidden portions of any spending bills pass through the Senate. We ask for repentance first and then forgiveness for every person who planned this subterfuge.

- ''Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out.'' (Acts 3:19)

Exclusive - Bipartisan So-Called 'Infrastructure' Bill 2,700 Pages Long (breitbart.com)

If the United States Senate votes this week on the bipartisan so-called “infrastructure” bill, it would be humanly impossible for any U.S. senator to read it before voting on it.

The text of a draft of the bill, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News from U.S. Senate sources not authorized to leak it, shows the plan is 2,701 pages long.

The text, which Breitbart News is publishing here so the public can see what Congress is doing in secret, shows the plan is far more sprawling and expansive than GOP senators who backed advancing it without text even existing led their constituents to believe.

Sources familiar with the drafting of the text of this bill told Breitbart News it was being written in secret for months outside the normal legislative process, which is supposed to happen in relevant committees of jurisdiction. These sources made the unauthorized leak of the draft text to Breitbart News out of concern that the murky and secretive process behind this bill may have led to widespread corruption throughout its nearly three thousand pages.

- Lord, this continual plan to put forth bills that are too long to be read in a reasonable length of time must stop. We must have wisdom in Congress in order to righteously serve the people.

''Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?''  (1 Kings 3:9)

3. Cook County state's attorney seeks to block Trump's $1M Chicago tax refund | Fox Business

An Illinois tax agency has ruled that former President Donald Trump is due a $1 million refund on the 2011 tax bill for his downtown Chicago skyscraper, but local officials are trying to block the refund.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that at issue is the Cook County Board of Review's estimation of the value of the the Trump International Hotel & Tower's rooms and retail space. In June, the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board voted 5-0 to reduce the assessment on the building's commercial property.

The vote means that Trump is owed $1.03 million, money that would come out of the property taxes due the city of Chicago, the Chicago Public Schools and several other government agencies. The Cook County State's Attorney is disputing the refund and has filed a lawsuit with the Illinois Appellate Court in the hopes of blocking it.

The dispute is the latest chapter in a long-running legal battle over Trump's tax bills that started more than 12 years ago and has led to more than $14 million in tax breaks for Trump. It also involves not only a former president who is at the middle of a host of legal battles but a Chicago alderman whose own legal troubles had been making headlines in Chicago for months.

- Lord, we bind these attacks against President Trump, and declare victory in all that he is facing from every direction. Have mercy on him and let Your forgiveness bring him strength.

- ''For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.'' (Deuteronomy 20:4)

4. Key senator vows to pass infrastructure bill this week - Axios

A 2,700-page bipartisan infrastructure bill was headed to Senate desks Sunday with promises it will pass the chamber by the end of the week. A final version was promised after additional edits.

Why it matters: While that's progress for the president’s most prominent 2021 legislative goal, the House is shaping up as a potential obstacle before money starts flowing to build new roads, bridges and expand broadband access.

  • "These deals on infrastructure that have gone out are not just bipartisan, but they are also bicameral, " Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said on CNN's "State of the Union."

  • "That means House and Senate," she added.

  • "I respect that we have to get Sen. Sinema and Manchin's vote on reconciliation," Ocasio-Cortez added. "They should also respect that there's a very tight House margin, and that we have to be able to uphold our end of the bargain as well. And House progressives are also part of that majority."

  • They want to ensure their wishes are fulfilled by a multi-trillion-dollar follow-up reconciliation bill if they're left out of the $1.2-trillion bipartisan bill.

  • Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) said last week she won't support a reconciliation bill totaling a reported $3.5 trillion, and another key Democratic moderate in the 50-50 Senate, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), has said he would only support a lower figure.

- Lord, only a move of Your Spirit will stop this overwhelming pork bill in its tracks. Our true infrastructure is in dire need of repair, but the earmarks in this bill are so expensive that the work may not go forward. You are the arbitrator of our souls, so we ask that You arbitrate this infrastructure bill to come back to reality.

- ''For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.'' (1 Timothy 2:5)

5. President Biden Tells Americans To Expect More COVID Restrictions | The Daily Caller

President Joe Biden told Americans to expect additional restrictions to combat the Delta COVID variant Friday, days after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced a return of mask guidelines.

Biden made the comments in response to shouted questions from reporters at the White House before departing to Camp David on Friday. Biden announced Thursday various efforts to encourage federal employees and Americans across the country to get vaccinated.

“Should Americans expect more restrictions because of COVID?” CBS White House correspondent Weijia Jiang asked Biden. “In all probability,” Biden responded, going on to add that Thursday was a “good day” in terms of vaccination numbers

- Lord, we bind this virus and say NO to more restrictions stemming from it. We ask for a mighty move of Your Holy Spirit to bring repentance for the fear mongering, and every sin that besets our nation.

- "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." (Hebrews 12:1)

6. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Unanimously Approves Resolution Supporting Cuba Protesters | The Daily Wire

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee unanimously approved a resolution supporting anti-regime protesters in Cuba.

Cuba is witnessing unprecedented and widespread protests against the island’s communist dictatorship, which has since cracked down harshly on dissidents. Hundreds of Cubans are unsure of their loved ones’ whereabouts, while officers reportedly sexually assaulted at least one detained teenager.

According to a press release from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the resolution condemns “the Cuban government’s violent response to the thousands of Cuban citizens who have taken to the streets to peacefully call for respect for basic human rights and the end of the dictatorship in Cuba.”

“As the oppressive Communist Cuban regime continues to hold the people of Cuba hostage after 62 years of repression and constant abuses, I welcome the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations’ passage of this important bipartisan resolution,” remarked Sen. Rubio (R-FL). “The U.S. must stand with the courageous people of Cuba as they fight for their basic freedoms and against tyranny.”

- Lord, we praise You for this resolution, but we also pray for Your hand of strength and protection for the people who are under the Communist regime in Cuba. We also ask for freedom for them. They have suffered for decades.

- "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.'' (1 Peter 5:10)

7. China’s New Ambassador To U.S. Will Flex CCP Muscles | The Daily Wire

Qin Gang — China’s new ambassador to the United States — will reportedly assert the nation’s growing power during his tenure in Washington. On Wednesday, a communication from Qin’s office demanded that China be treated with “equality” as a fellow influential power:

Both China and the United States are major countries with important influence in the world. Since we established diplomatic relations over 40 years ago, China-U.S. relations have gone through an extraordinary journey amidst twists and turns. At this new historical juncture, our two countries need to follow the trend of the times and the general expectation of the international community, treat each other with mutual respect and equality, and pursue peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation, as this will be the blessing of our two peoples and the whole world. The Chinese people will never stop their quest for a better life.

The Communist Party of China and the Chinese government will never stop the endeavor to pursue happiness for the people. China is firmly committed to the path of peaceful development, and will continue to advance world peace, contribute to global development, and uphold international order. It will work with other countries to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

- Lord, let no US official be swayed by anything this new ambassador threatens. We ask that if anyone of our officials be compromised by China, that they be removed from their position. Let all hidden things be revealed.

"Nothing is covered up that will not be revealed or hidden that will not be known." (Luke 12:2)

"Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.''  (Song of Solomona 2:15)

8. Exclusive: More West Texas Border Patrol Agents Test Positive for COVID-19 (breitbart.com)

Three more Border Patrol Agents working at the Eagle Pass, Texas, processing center tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend, according to a source working under the umbrella of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The agents were assigned to process migrants apprehended in the Del Rio Sector in a soft-sided structure that is currently holding double its rated capacity.

The total number of Border Patrol agents, according to the source, reached six since Thursday. In addition, at least one Texas Army National Guard soldier working in Eagle Pass also tested positive for the virus. The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, says the facility is rated at 300 migrants due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The facility is currently holding more than 1,000 migrants.

Three northern border agents detailed to Eagle Pass to assist with the current migrant surge tested positive after spending less than one week at the processing center, Breitbart Texas reported on Thursday. The source now reports the total stands at six and is expected to continue to rise.

“This is a nightmare. We have no more room for anyone else in the facility,” the source told Breitbart. “We cannot process them fast enough and when we are done, we have no place to take them except to put them out on the street.”

Several of the Border Patrol Agents who tested positive for the virus had been fully vaccinated, the source reported. It is unknown if the agents were exposed to the Delta variant of the virus. According to the Border Patrol in Del Rio, nearly 1,000 migrants are being apprehended daily in the West Texas region covered by the sector.

The source says migrants are being let go in downtown Eagle Pass since a local non-governmental shelter refused to take in any more migrants. The Mission Border Hope shelter is concerned that they will not be able to arrange transportation for the migrants into the interior of the United States after a recent executive order issued by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

- Lord, You are the Great Physician, and Your Blood is full of life and healing. We cover our border patrol members now with that powerful Blood to not only heal, but to change hearts and minds.

- ''But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.'' (Eph. 2:13)

"But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:5)

9. Nolte: Without Trump, Dems Attack the Unvaccinated to Salvage Midterms (breitbart.com)

With Donald Trump off the ballot and the 2022 midterms just over the horizon, Democrats and their corporate media allies have launched an obscene crusade to dehumanize the unvaccinated.

This anti-science campaign to demonize more than half the American people as walking biohazards (those who’ve chosen not to get vaccinated or who cannot due to their youth) is right out of the Nazi playbook and one of the most grotesque things I’ve ever witnessed.

According to the far-left CDC’s very own math, the unvaccinated are almost entirely a threat only to themselves and hardly that. Here are the numbers, and let me repeat: these numbers come straight from the far-left CDC…
[Please be sure to see this article to study this data.]

Based on numbers like that, numbers straight from the far-left CDC, we are witnessing a fear and scapegoating campaign unlike anything since the dark days of McCarthyism.

The question is, why?

The answer is obvious: the 2022 midterms.

- Lord, though we are aware that Covid is real, we are also aware of the agenda that has been foisted on us. Let every plan that is not in Your will be pulled down in the Mighty Name of Jesus. We pray for Your Holy Spirit to move over our nation, bringing faith and trust to those who have fallen under this scheme.

- "Be not a witness against your neighbor without cause, and do not deceive with your lips." (Proverbs 24:28)

10. Woke American Medical Association: Nix Bio Sex from Birth Certificates (breitbart.com)

The left-wing American Medical Association’s (AMA) Board of Trustees kept busy over the summer crafting a resolution in favor of removing the terms “male” and “female” from birth certificates, claiming evidence of an individual being born is the only information necessary.

The board weighed in on the two forms of current birth documentation in the United States — the certificate of live birth used for data collection and the birth certificate — which currently contains the names of parents, the child or children, and their biological sex. The resolution said the live birth certificate should be where sex is noted for the sake of statistics, but that birth certificates should not include sex as it might hamper individuals who at some point decide to live as something other than their biological sex.

The June 2021 BOT recommendation 15 said in part:

"Vital statistics data is a fundamental source of health information. In the U.S., the Standard Certificates of Live Birth form is the primary means by which uniformity of data collection and processing is achieved. Birth certificates, on the other hand, are issued by the government to individuals as proof of birth. Sex designation, as collected through the standard form and included on the birth certificate, refers to the biological difference between males and females. Today, the majority of states (48) and the District of Columbia allow people to amend their sex designation on their birth certificate to reflect their individual gender identities, but only 10 states allow for a gender-neutral designation, typically “X,” on the birth certificate.

Existing AMA policy recognizes that every individual has the right to determine their gender identity and sex designation on government documents. To protect individual privacy and to prevent discrimination, U.S.  jurisdictions should remove sex designation on the birth certificate.

Our American Medical Association will advocate for the removal of sex as a legal designation on the public portion of the birth certificate, recognizing that information on an individual’s sex designation at birth will still be submitted through the U.S. Standard Certificate of Live Birth for medical, public health, and statistical use only. (Directive to Take Action)."

- Father, we rebuke this plan to remove biological descriptors from birth certificates and ask that you cause it to be rejected in a definitive way so that it is never brought up again.

- "A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish." (Proverbs 19:9)

Religious Freedom Takes Another Hit

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, August 2, 2021

President Joe Biden made history by saying he will name the first Muslim as Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom, replacing former Kansas Governor Sam Brownback. Reminiscent of the “all things Muslim” Obama Administration, Biden’s choice, Rashad Hussain, is credited as an operative of the Muslim Brotherhood who was instrumental in helping turn the Obama White House into a supporter of the terrorist sponsoring group. Hussain has a long list of questionable affiliations with names and events considered supportive of Islamic terrorist organizations, according to several media outlets. Given Hussain’s background, this is a setback for advocating religious freedom around the world.

The Investigative Project on Terrorism carried an article by the Egyptian Magazine Rose El-Youssef written in December 2012 discussing Hussain’s questionable ties: “In June 2002 Hussein was included as part of a team of Congress aides at the annual conference of the American Islamic Council (AMC) headed by Abdulrahman Al Amoudi a Muslim Brotherhood leader in the United States currently imprisoned after being accused of masterminding a plot to assassinate Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. He was also part of the organizing committee of the conference of the Critical Islamic Reflections (CIR) organization with elements of the American Muslim Brotherhood, Jamal Barzanji, Hisham Taleb, and Yaqub Mirza. Rep. McCaul on House GOP's bombshell Wuhan lab report: 'Greatest cover-up in human history'

Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, shared new findings from the House Foreign Affairs Committee Republicans' probe into the possible origins of COVID-19 on Monday and accused the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) of engaging in the "greatest cover-up in human history."

The committee's ranking Republican, during an appearance on "America’s Newsroom," laid out a number of key points from the report and asserted that the CCP is likely "very concerned" by its findings. "They were playing with fire," said McCaul. "They were genetically manipulating at the lab this gain-of-function that was taking place."

Many of the key points from the report focused on activities in and around Wuhan that appeared to indicate the virus may have been circulating in China as early as September, well before the WHOs Country Office in the People’s Republic of China picked up a press statement on December 31, 2019, by the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission from their website on cases of "viral pneumonia" in Wuhan.

In September, the Wuhan lab’s genetic sequencing database was taken offline in the middle of the night, which according to McCaul, shows that they were trying to "hide" or "cover-up" something of significant concern. Satellite imagery from around the same time purportedly shows increased activity at the hospitals near the Wuhan lab, says McCaul.

Months ahead of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Wuhan National Biosafety Lab requested bids for major renovations to air safety and waste treatment systems in research facilities that had been operational for less than two years, according to the report on the pandemic’s origins, obtained by Fox News.

In addition, McCaul referenced the October 2019 World Military Games, where he said 9,000 people entered the country. According to the Foreign Affairs Committee data, some returned to their home countries with flu-like symptoms.

Pompeo: Fauci ‘Should No Longer Be Serving in American Government’

Former secretary of state Mike Pompeo is escalating his attacks on Dr. Anthony Fauci, telling National Review that the top NIH official should be removed from his post for refusing to acknowledge that the U.S. was funding dangerous virology research in China — and for continuing to defend such funding despite the events of the past year.

During several tense exchanges with Senator Rand Paul, Fauci has argued that the research being conducted in Wuhan with American dollars does not qualify as “gain-of-function,” though previously published papers by Chinese scientists credit the U.S. with funding experiments designed to make bat coronaviruses more contagious, which fits the NIH’s own previously published definition of gain-of-function research.

Fauci and Paul have traded blows in congressional hearings for months, but things came to a head in early July when Paul accused Fauci of lying to Congress. Fauci insisted he’s never lied to Congress and said the Wuhan research “was judged by qualified staff up and down the chain as not being gain of function,” citing the extremely narrow gain-of-function definition developed by the Department of Health and Human Services, rather than the one commonly used by virologists.

But the specific label is beside the point, according to Pompeo. (National Review)

Prayer Alert: Supreme Court Reveals a 3-3-3 Divide as Major Abortion Case Hangs in the Balance

The Supreme Court is made up of a majority of conservative justices, but this latest term has taught Americans that not all conservatives are created equally. Instead of a 6-3 divide between conservative and liberal justices, some of the court's major decisions reveal a 3-3-3 divide.

"I think the most conservative members are Justice Thomas and next Justice Gorsuch, and close by probably Justice Samuel Alito," Josh Blackman, professor at South Texas College of Law in Houston, tells CBN News.

In the middle, making up a more centrist coalition, he says, are Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and the court's newest member Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

"We learned that Justice Amy Coney Barrett was not the judicial torpedo that a lot of Democrats thought that she was going to be on things like Obamacare," Sarah Perry, legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation, told CBN News.

Next term the court will tackle several hot-button issues like New York's handgun law, and an abortion case of out Mississippi that strikes at the heart of Roe versus Wade.

"The fact that they have relegated this decision on whether or not pre-viability restrictions are constitutional indicates to us that they are going directly to the heart of the matter and will make a determination as to whether or not Roe was good law," explains Perry. (CBN) Read more.

Statement by Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America
Update: July 31st, 2021

The corrupt and highly partisan House Democrats who run the House Oversight Committee yesterday released documents—including court filings dealing with the rigged election of 2020—that they dishonestly described as attempting to overturn the election.

In fact, it is just the opposite. The documents were meant to uphold the integrity and honesty of elections and the sanctity of our vote. The American People want, and demand, that the President of the United States, its chief law enforcement officer in the country, stand with them to fight for Election Integrity and to investigate attempts to undermine our nation. Our country has just suffered an incredibly corrupt Presidential Election, and it is time for Congress and others to investigate how such corruption was allowed to take place rather than investigating those that are exposing this massive fraud on the American People.

Texas Storm Chaser Captures ‘Unreal’ Photos of
‘Quadruple Microburst’ Collapsing From the Sky

Texas photographer Mike Olbinski chases storms for a living. Luckily for him, this particular summer season has offered up some extraordinary weather in western Texas.

Hunting for supercells in New Mexico, Olbinski and a friend were calling it a bust day, driving back to Lubbock, when they caught sight of a wall cloud off in the distance. They had to jump on it.

“We decided to of course go after it and when we got in front of it, we were thrilled to just be on a good storm finally that day,” Olbinski told The Epoch Times. They positioned themselves south of Andrews, got out their gear (Olbinski using an extreme wide-angle lens, as the storm would soon literally be on top of them), and witnessed powerful updrafts as the weather evolved before their eyes.

Updrafts—warm, ascending air currents within storm clouds—cause evaporated moisture to rise to cooler altitudes, where it then matures into heavier rain and hail, before plunging down to the earth amid colder airflows. Read More

The Good News Corner
Texas Mom Survives Unbelievable Road Accident With Her Family—Credits Survival to Calling God’s Name

A mom from Texas who survived a serious car accident with her family this year shared what she considers a remarkable intervention from above. Gillian Nichols from Katy was involved in an accident on January 31; she was with her husband John and her two daughters Leelah, 15, and Annie, 7. Gillian was in the passenger’s seat with their daughters in the back. Everyone was wearing their seat belts.

While driving in the right-hand lane, Gillian noticed her husband started slowing gradually as the cars ahead slowed and then stopped. “Actually, the cars up ahead, it stopped because [in a] separate accident a person had passed away,” she said. “There was a fatality ahead of us.”

While slowing down, their car was suddenly hit by an F-250 truck that hadn’t stopped, sending their Highlander SUV flying diagonally across the freeway. The car struck a guard rail and was launched up into the air, flipping uncontrollably.

“As soon as we went up, I started screaming ‘Jesus!’” she said. “Like, that’s all I could think to do.”

Each time the car flipped and hit the ground, her head seemed to land safely on the deployed airbags on one side, though the seat-belt mechanism ended up causing a serious head injury.

She could literally feel everything slow down as she consciously suffered brain damage. She was rendered unconscious for some few seconds when the car finally came to a rest.
In the ambulance, she experienced a miraculous sensation of God “knitting” her body. “I felt like He was knitting me back together,” she recalled. “And I cannot describe it. I’m a cross stitcher. So I cross stitch. And so I just felt knitting on my body.”

. . .  they survived, miraculously. And for that, Gillian credits God. (Epoch Times) Read more here.

Thoughts for Repentance
In debating, there is a principle known as “Godwin’s Law.”

Godwin's law, is an Internet adage asserting that as an online discussion grows longer (regardless of topic or scope), the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Adolf Hitler becomes more likely.
~ Wikipedia

It goes on to say:

Godwin's law itself can be applied mistakenly or abused as a distraction, diversion or even as censorship, when fallaciously miscasting an opponent's argument as hyperbole when the comparison made by the argument is appropriate.
~ Wikipedia

Oftentimes, debaters will simply make the accusation of “Godwin’s Law” when they are losing the argument in order to automatically undermine the debate simply because the similarity to Nazism was raised. We must reject this attempt to stifle Truth. In scripture, God often shows us a “type” or “shadow” before the full mystery is revealed. Music: Fred Jackey

Scripture: I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:20

Lyrics:
I’ve seen the lightning flashing,
I’ve heard the thunder roll.
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing,
Which almost conquered my soul.
I’ve heard the voice of my Savior,
Bidding me still to fight on.
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone!

Refrain
No, never alone, no never alone,
He promised never to leave me,
He’ll claim me for His own;
No, never alone, no never alone.
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone.

Refrain

The world’s fierce winds are blowing,
Temptation sharp and keen.
I have a peace in knowing
My Savior stands between—
He stands to shield me from danger
When my friends are all gone.
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone!

Refrain

When in affliction’s valley
I tread the road of care,
My Savior helps me carry
The cross so heavy to bear;
Though all around me is darkness,
Earthly joys all flown;
My Savior whispers His promise,
Never to leave me alone!

Refrain

He died on Calvary’s mountain,
For me they piercèd His side.
For me He opened that fountain,
The crimson, cleansing tide.
For me He waiteth in glory,
Seated upon His throne.
He promised never to leave me,
Never to leave me alone!

Refrain
