Trump Kicks COVID Bill Back To Congress; Demands $2,000 Stimulus, Shreds Lawmakers Over Mountain Of Pork
President Trump appeared to threaten to veto the COVID-19 stimulus package that Congress passed almost 24 hours earlier, telling lawmakers to boost checks for Americans to $2,000 as well as "get rid of wasteful and unnecessary items" in the spending bill
Trump said "throughout the summer, Democrats cruelly blocked COVID relief legislation in an effort to advance their extreme left wing agenda and influence the election..."
"It's taken forever" to get a package and the bill passed "is much different than anticipated."
"It really is a disgrace," he added.
Then reeled off a list of disgusting 'pork' (read the details here) that has been piled into this record-breaking 5,593 page bill.
As Axios notes, many of the items Trump listed, such as foreign aid, which were not related to COVID-19 are not part of the coronavirus relief package. These form part of the government funding bill, which was passed alongside the coronavirus relief package.

1. Edelstein: Israel ‘has entered the 3rd wave,’ no choice but to go into lockdown -Times of Israel
Health Minister Yuli Edelstein said on Tuesday that Israel was in a critical situation and had no choice but to enter a full lockdown.
“We have missed the train with tightened restraint and there is no escape from a lockdown,” Edelstein said on a visit to an eldercare facility that was kicking off its vaccination program for residents.
“It will take between two and three months for the vaccine [program] to take effect,” Edelstein said. “We are in a critical situation. We wasted precious time, and the state of the infections means we have no choice but to go into lockdown. Read more
2. Knesset to dissolve within 24 hours - Israel National News
The Knesset on Monday night failed to pass the first reading of the bill that would have postponed the deadline for the approval of the state budget.
49 MKs voted against the bill and 47 voted in favor.
As a result, the Knesset is expected to dissolve in the next 24 hours since the budget has not been approved due to ongoing disagreements between the Likud and Blue and White.
The bill failed to pass after Knesset members from the coalition - Michal Shir from the Likud and Assaf Zamir, Ram Shefa and Miki Haimovich from Blue and White - voted against it. Read more
3. The Israeli submarine that sent a message to Iran - Israel National News
Arab intelligence sources claim that an Israeli Navy submarine last Sunday openly crossed the Suez Canal, Kan 11 News reported on Monday.
According to the report, the move was made with Egyptian approval and the submarine made its way towards the Persian Gulf in order to send a message to the regime in Tehran and warn it against a response to the elimination of top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
The defense establishment is preparing for a possible response on Iran's part for the elimination of Fakhrizadeh, which it has blamed on Israel. Also noteworthy is the proximity to the first anniversary of the elimination of Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, which was carried out by the United States. Read more
4. IDF increasing security measures in West Bank in light of escalation - Jerusalem Post
The IDF is increasing its security measures in the West Bank in light of a situation assessment carried out on Tuesday.
The IDF spokesperson unit said in a statement that it “will reinforce troops in Judea and Samaria today [Tuesday] to enhance the defense of communities and routes in the region.”
It was also decided that all soldiers serving in the Judaea and Samaria division will be under curfew until Friday.
This comes one day after the murder of Esther Horgan near Tal Menashe, a settlement in the northern West Bank. Read more
5. Jewish Ritual Bath From Jesus’ Time Discovered at Gethsemane in Jerusalem - Algemeiner
24News – A Jewish ritual bath dating back 2,000 years was uncovered near the the garden of Gethsemane, near the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) announced on Monday.
The bath was found by archaeologists working with the IAA and scholars from the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum, a Franciscan research institute near the modern Church of Gethsemane.
According to the IAA, this is the first archaeological evidence of its kind to exist in Gethsemane during the Second Temple period.

1. Group Of GOP Lawmakers Meet With President Trump To Discuss Resistance To Electoral College Vote - One America News
A growing number of lawmakers are planning to reject the Electoral College’s votes. On Monday, a group of legislators led by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) reportedly met with President Trump and his legal team to discuss plans to object to the Electoral College vote count in January.
Brooks has been slamming the supposed outcome of the election due to what he called “evidence of widespread voter fraud.”
“The overwhelming, compelling and irrefutable evidence leads to but one conclusion,” he stated. “If only lawful votes cast by eligible American citizens are counted, President Trump handedly won the Electoral College and re-election.”
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows confirmed the meeting occurred at the Oval Office as Republicans prepare to mount a battle against voter fraud. A number of Republican lawmakers and incoming legislators are confirmed to have been in attendance, including Reps. Jody Hice (R-Ga.) Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and incoming Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.).

3. Coronavirus Package Allows Feds to Import More Foreign Workers as 17.8M Americans are Jobless - Brietbart
A provision slipped into the more than 5,590-page spending bill allows the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Labor Department to import more foreign labor competition against Americans at their discretion.
Specifically, the bill gives DHS the ability to “increase the total number” of H-2B foreign visa workers who can be brought into the U.S. to take blue-collar, nonagricultural jobs that would otherwise go to working class Americans.
DHS Secretaries over the last four years have repeatedly allowed businesses to import more H-2B foreign visa workers above the annual cap of 66,000. Continuation of the policy would come as 24.5 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed. About 17.8 million of those are jobless.

4. Flynn: Foreign Intelligence Agencies Were Monitoring US Election, Willing to Provide Information to Trump - Epoch Times
Former national security adviser Michael Flynn said he was provided information that foreign intelligence agencies were monitoring the U.S. election on Nov. 3 and are willing to provide evidence to President Donald Trump.
“We have evidence now of foreign countries … were watching the attacks on our election system, our election process, on the 3rd of November,” Flynn told Fox Business on Friday. “So we now have that evidence and we received that today,” he said.

5. McConnell: Senate to return Dec. 29 for potential Trump veto override vote - The Hill
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced early Tuesday morning that the Senate will return to Washington on Dec. 29 to respond to a potential veto from President Trump of a mammoth defense bill.
McConnell, speaking from the Senate floor, said that he had struck a deal with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) for the chamber to return for a rare post-Christmas session during which he said they will "process" a veto override, if it's passed by the House.
"In the event that President Trump does elect to veto this bipartisan bill, it appears the House may choose to return after the holidays to set up a vote to consider the veto. ... In the event that the president has vetoed the bill, and the House has voted to override the veto, the Senate would have the opportunity to process a veto override at that time," McConnell added.

6. Mixed-Status Immigrant Families Eligible for Stimulus Checks Under New Relief Bill - Epoch Times
Under the newly-passed $900 billion pandemic relief bill, U.S. citizens and green card holders who are married to illegal immigrants will now be eligible for stimulus checks that they were denied under the previous round of COVID-19 aid.
Members of mixed-status households, meaning ones in which some members have Social Security Numbers (SSN) and some don’t, are now eligible to receive a $600 direct stimulus check as well as a $600 check per dependent child, despite being excluded from receiving $1,200 checks under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Stability, or CARES Act, which was adopted in March, according to the text of the legislation (pdf).
The new bill, which passed the House and Senate on Monday and is expected to be signed into law by President Donald Trump within days, also makes SSN holders in mixed-status families retroactively eligible for the $1,200 checks under the CARES Act via refundable tax rebate.
7. Feds sue Walmart over role in opioid crisis - AP News
The Justice Department is suing Walmart, alleging the company unlawfully dispensed controlled substances through its pharmacies, helping to fuel the opioid crisis in America.
The civil complaint being filed Tuesday points to the role Walmart’s pharmacies may have played in the crisis by filling opioid prescriptions and by unlawfully distributing controlled substances to the pharmacies during the height of the opioid crisis. Walmart operates more than 5,000 pharmacies in its stores around the country.
The Justice Department alleges Walmart violated federal law by selling thousands of prescriptions for controlled substances that its pharmacists “knew were invalid,” said Jeffrey Clark, the acting assistant attorney general in charge of the Justice Department’s civil division.

8. Deborah Birx announces intent to retire, citing treatment of family over Thanksgiving trip - Washington Examiner
Dr. Deborah Birx, one of the leading public health experts on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, said she intends to retire in the near future, citing the treatment of her family after it was reported she traveled for Thanksgiving.
Birx, 64, has served as the United States Global AIDS Coordinator for President Barack Obama and President Trump since 2014. She announced her intention to step down shortly in an interview with Newsy's Amber Strong.
“I want the Biden administration to be successful," she said. "I’ve worked since 1980 in the federal government, first through the military, then through [the Department of Health and Human Services], and then detailed to the State Department and detailed here, where I hope I was helpful. I will be helpful in any role people think I can be helpful in, and then I will retire."

9. Alex Padilla becomes California’s first Latino U.S. senator, replacing Kamala Harris - LA Times
Alex Padilla, a Los Angeles Democrat who once developed software for satellites but later rose through local and state political office to become California secretary of state, was chosen Tuesday by Gov. Gavin Newsom to serve in the U.S. Senate — an appointment that tears down a barrier for Latinos that has stood as long as California’s statehood.
Padilla, a longtime Newsom ally, will become the first Latino to represent California in the Senate, succeeding another history-making politician, Sen. Kamala Harris. Harris, who was the second Black woman and first South Asian to serve in the Senate, in November became the first woman elected vice president of the United States.
“Through his tenacity, integrity, smarts and grit, California is gaining a tested fighter in their corner who will be a fierce ally in D.C., lifting up our state’s values and making sure we secure the critical resources to emerge stronger from this pandemic. He will be a senator for all Californians,” Newsom said in a statement released Tuesday morning.

The Knesset will dissolve automatically at midnight Tuesday night, setting a March 23 election amid mutual recriminations between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz.Netanyahu and Gantz blamed each other for not finding a way to keep their government going. Likud and Blue and White had reached an agreement to extend the deadline for passing the state budget and preventing early elections, but Gantz issued new demands and then rebels in both parties prevented the bill from passing in dramatic fashion.
“It is no secret that the Likud and I did not want to go to elections,” Netanyahu said in a Knesset press conference. “Israel is going to elections due to internal fights in Blue and White.”Netanyahu said he had agreed to the rotation in the Prime Minister’s Office before Blue and White reneged on their deal.Blue and White responded by shifting the blame to Netanyahu, saying that “a man under three indictments is dragging Israel to elections for a fourth time.
If there was no trial, there would be a budget and no elections.”Polls broadcast on Tuesday night found that the election will be devastating for Blue and White. A Kantar Institute poll broadcast on KAN-TV predicted six mandates for the party. A Midgam poll on Channel 12 predicted only five seats and if Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai forms a party, only four. As we approach Christmas and the deadline for electors to choose the president, we as Americans, are faced with extraordinary and unprecedented times. These are times when we are told repeatedly that there is no evidence of election fraud, yet there are many documented reports saying there has been massive chicanery going on with the election. Ballots hauled in and counted in the early hours of the morning. Machines manipulated by algorithms. State bureaucrats unilaterally changing election laws to allow illegal mail-in voting. Each one of these facts are disputed by the news media and by Democrat and some Republican operatives. Yet, they call into question the very legitimacy of the presidency.
Before any electoral vote certification, We the People need to have some answers. It is not about politics, it’s about truth. Our most fundamental constitutional right as a free people is the vote. If we don’t have honest elections, we don’t have freedom. Why even vote? They say there is no evidence of election fraud. What about those ballots that suddenly appeared and were counted hours after the polls closed? Why is my vote cancelled out by illegal mail-in ballots? Why did bureaucrats in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Georgia change the voting laws without consent of the legislature? What about the massive documented flaws in the voting machines?
Voting machines with connections to China? Who else is connected to China? Why is the National intelligence report on foreign election influence delayed? Is this the deep state again? We have a right to know. Over 74 million citizens voted for president Trump, more than any president in history. Joe Biden received over 81 million votes—outpolling any previous president, even Barack Obama, by 15 million votes. Were legitimate votes cancelled out by illegal mail-in votes, and foreign-controlled voting machines? Patriot Thomas Paine once wrote: “These are the times that try men’s souls.” This election shocks my soul. This election tries my conscience. These are indeed unprecedented times.
On Christmas 244 years ago, a small band of patriots led by George Washington boldly crossed the Delaware River. Heavily outnumbered and mostly armed with only their faith and their love of freedom, these brave souls put into motion the defeat of the most powerful force then known to man, the deepest of the deep state, a globalist power. Today, another bold move is needed to preserve and defend what it is to be an American. In the course of human events, when there are forces against life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; when our freedom is at stake, we must cross that mighty river again, armed with our faith and love of freedom. It is time for all good citizens to come to the aid of their country. Demand Truth. Know Truth. As Christ said in John 8:32, “the truth shall make your free.” The Truth will keep you free, too.
