The Left Wants to Transform and Nationalize Our Election System

Editor’s Note: Democrats in Congress have renewed efforts in the House and Senate to make sweeping changes to America’s electoral laws.

As Jarrett Stepman wrote in 2019, when H.R. 1 was first proposed, these reforms would be a significant threat to the federalist system under the Constitution of the United States and would undermine election integrity.

H.R. 1 is even more significantly threatening in the aftermath of 2020 election, where electoral flaws made many Americans question the integrity of the system. H.R. 1 makes it likely that all future elections will have that outcome. Here is Stepman’s original article:

Democrats intend to save “democracy” by putting themselves in charge of elections.

The Left has declared war on our culture, but we should never back down, nor compromise our principles. Learn more now >>

As absurd as that sounds, it really is a part of the inappropriately named “For the People Act of 2019,” or H.R. 1, moving through the House of Representatives.

The Heritage Foundation created a list of the law’s provisions, which you can read here.

- Father God, we ask that You would birth a groundswell of awareness among the American people that Congress is now seriously considering passing this dangerous bill.

Let our voices of opposition be heard, loud and clear, in the halls of Congress so that this threat to our Constitutional freedom and the right to have election integrity in America would be restored and protected. In Your Name we pray, amen and amen.

- "Your people will volunteer freely on the day of Your power . . . " (Psalm 110:3)

1. 'We've discovered vaccine side-effects Pfizer wasn't aware of' - Israel National News

The coronavirus vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech has apparently caused a number of side-effects not anticipated by the producers, a department manager at Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer said Tuesday.

Professor Galia Rahav, chief of the Infectious Disease Unit and Laboratories at the Sheba Medical Center, spoke with Kan Reshet Bet Tuesday about the newly-discovered side-effects some people have reported experiencing after receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

The new side-effects range from paraesthesia – a nerve condition causing a tingling sensation or ‘pins and needles’ – to facial nerve paralysis. (Read more)

2. IDF chief: I’ve ordered preparation of plans to thwart Iran’s nuke program - Times of Israel

IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi says he has directed the military to prepare operational plans for the possibility that it will need to strike Iran to block its nuclear program.

“Iran can decide that it wants to advance to a bomb, either covertly or in a provocative way. In light of this basic analysis, I have ordered the IDF to prepare a number of operational plans, in addition to the existing ones. We are studying these plans and we will develop them over the next year,” Kohavi says.

He adds: “The government will of course be the one to decide if they should be used. But these plans need to be on the table, in existence and trained for." (Read more)

3. Senior Iranian Cleric Calls For End To Hostilities With Israel - Israel Hayom

A former senior Iranian cleric spoke with Israeli media for the first time from Tehran, calling for an end to hostilities between the two countries and saying that the Islamic Republic's frequent talks about their intention to destroy Israel are "serious."

In an unprecedented interview, Ayatollah Abdol-Hamid Masoumi-Tehrani, a current opposition figure whose "ayatollah" title was revoked by Tehran due to disagreements with the regime, told Israel's Channel 12 News that he has "no problem" with the Jewish state.

"It is time for the Iranian regime to stop inventing enemies that don't exist," he asserted. "The Iranians and the Jews have many years of friendship, I have not met any Iranians who had a negative opinion of Israel." (Read more)

4. Labor’s new leader says her party is exiting coalition, orders ministers to quit - Times of Israel

In her first act as Labor leader, MK Merav Michaeli announced Monday that she was pulling the center-left party from the transitional coalition and ordered ministers Amir Peretz and Itzik Shmuli to resign from their cabinet posts.

“The Labor party is leaving the corrupt Netanyahu-Gantz government. I have informed Peretz and Shmuli they must resign the government as soon as possible. Labor is starting anew,” she wrote on Twitter.

There was no immediate comment from Economy Minister Peretz or Welfare Minister Shmuli. (Read more)

5. AG Rules Netanyahu Must Return $300K Gift To His US Cousin Over Their Previously Denied Business Ties - Jewish Press

Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit said in his response to the High Court of Justice on Tuesday night that he had changed his position, and that $300,000 that was received by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from his cousin, businessman Nathan Milikowsky, constitute an illegal gift.

Haaretz revealed back in 2019 that Netanyahu raised $300,000 from Milikowsky to finance his legal defense without obtaining approval. The AG’s latest opinion means that Netanyahu has to return the money. However, the AG told the High Court that there’s no room for a criminal investigation into the matter.

It also appears from the attorney general’s response to the petition filed with the High Court regarding the PM’s cousin’s gift that he is critical of the State Comptroller’s decision to allow Netanyahu to receive a loan from his relative to help cover his legal expenses. (Read more)

1. Eric Holder Urges Democrats to Pack the Supreme Court - Brietbart

Packing the Court would involve passing legislation to add seats to the nation’s highest judicial body, then using a simple Senate majority to fill the vacancies with liberals.

Holder was addressing a virtual seminar hosted by the Brookings Institution, “Is There a Path Forward for Court Reform?” The left has shown interest in “reform” since President Donald Trump was able to appoint conservatives to the bench.

Holder began his presentation with what he called “three realities.” First, he said, “Democrats and progressives, are, and have been, uncomfortable with the acquisition and the use of power.” Republicans and conservatives, he said, were not. Second, he said, the Supreme Court and other courts had been “political bodies.” And third, he said, the Supreme Court had largely upheld the status quo in its decisions, “sometimes in a way that is inimical to our founding ideals.” (Read more)

- Father, we ask for repentance over this man Eric Holder.  We do not want him in a position of this kind of power over our nation and Supreme Court and we ask that he change or be removed from his seat of power, in Jesus name and let a righteous court stand firm.

"This day the Lord your God commands you to observe these statutes and judgments; therefore you shall be careful to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul."  (Deuteronomy 26:16)

2. Breaking ‘Unity’ Pledge, Joe Biden Backs Trump Impeachment Trial - Brietbart

Biden had previously been ambivalent about a trial, hinting that he opposed it, but saying he would let Congress decide. On Monday, as House impeachment managers delivered the article of impeachment to the Senate, Biden backed a trial:

President Joe Biden on Monday offered his most extensive comments since taking office on former President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, telling CNN, “I think it has to happen.”

Biden made the comment during a brief one-on-one interview with CNN in the halls of the West Wing. He acknowledged the effect it could have on his legislative agenda and Cabinet nominees but said there would be “a worse effect if it didn’t happen.” Biden told CNN he believed the outcome would be different if Trump had six months left in his term, but said he doesn’t think 17 Republican senators will vote to convict Trump. (Read more)

- Holy King, let this be an opportunity for Mr. Biden to see what righteousness looks like.  Let the nation have the opportunity to see what unobscured truth looks like in the trial.  May there be very wide-reaching unintended consequences from the Kingdom of God.

"'Look!' he answered, 'I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.'"  (Daniel 3:25)

3. Arizona sheriff rips Biden's immigration actions as 'political theater': 'Stop this madness' - Fox News

An Arizona sheriff warned on Tuesday that President Biden’s executive orders on immigration are "hasty" and encouraged the president to "stop this madness.”

Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels also told "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday that the "political theater that’s being played out is scary to all of us on the southwest border, sheriffs, police departments and our federal partners and every American should be standing up on this."

Dannels pointed to statistics from 2019, noting that more than 1,000 gang members representing more than a dozen countries breached the southwest border that year. He added that thousands of children were being exploited by the cartels as a fraud and there were hundreds of assaults on federal agents.

"It goes back to show you how vulnerable our southwest border is to include every American in this country if we don't have a secure border," Dannels said. (Read more)

- Father, we ask that You give more victories to the righteous ones who seek a halt to this "political theater" drama. Let the courts, the judges, the sheriffs, all stand in opposition to this border issue and most especially keep them from releasing the thousands of detained immigrants into our nation's streets. With our voices being shut down in the public arena Father, let us rather come to You on our knees.

"Vindicate me, O Lord, For I have walked in my integrity.  I have also trusted in the Lord; I shall not slip."  (Psalm 26:1)

4. McConnell agrees to allow Senate power-sharing to move forward - Politico

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell backed down from his demand that any Senate power-sharing agreement include protections for the legislative filibuster, after Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema reaffirmed their opposition Monday to scrapping the procedural tool.

“Today, two Democratic Senators publicly confirmed they will not vote to end the legislative filibuster,” McConnell said in a statement. “They agree with President Biden’s and my view that no Senate majority should destroy the right of future minorities of both parties to help shape legislation.”

While Democrats hold the Senate majority, the chamber’s 50-50 split means that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and McConnell need to establish a power-sharing agreement, also known as an organizing resolution.(Read more)

- Jesus, we thank you that at the end of the day, everything in our government will bow to You as Sovereign Ruler over our nation.  We, Your people, will continue to pray for righteousness to cover our land and the government to belong to You.

"Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause."  (Psalm 25:3)

5. Amazon employees gave millions to Biden, strongly outweighing cash for Trump, data shows - Fox Business

Amazon employees showered Joe Biden's presidential campaign with cash during the 2020 election, funneling millions of dollars to the then-candidate — far more than they gave to Republican Donald Trump.

Figures published by the Center for Responsive Politics show that Amazon workers gave more than $2.22 million to Biden's presidential campaign during the election, and $934,747 to the DNC Services Corp.

The third-highest donation by Amazon employees went to Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. Sanders, a self-declared democratic socialist who frequently battles with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, received $803,732 from individuals who work at the e-commerce behemoth. (Read more)

- Dearest Lord, it is disturbing to see that so many businesses have donated so very much to Democrats and very little to Republicans. This shows a trend that looks like they are buying favoritism and influence to not only sway an election but also public policy at the expense of the voice of the people. Lord, we must lean on You for correction of this undue influence over our country and bring Your kind of correction to it. We praise You for being the kind of God who can right this wrong. Thank You, Lord for acting on behalf of Your people.

- "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it withersoever he will." (Proverbs 21:1)

6. Trump establishes office in Florida, statement released - DML News

Less than a week after leaving the White House, former President Donald Trump has established an office in Florida. Trump has been banned from all major social media accounts, preventing him from communicating directly with the American people in the way he has been accustomed to.

The following statement was just released to the press Monday afternoon:

Statement from the Office of the Former President:

Palm Beach County, Florida – Today, the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, formally opened the Office of the Former President.

The Office will be responsible for managing President Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities to advance the interests of the United States and to carry on the agenda of the Trump administration through advocacy, organizing and public activism.

- Oh, Lord, we rejoice at this statement from "The Office of the Former President"  and pray that this will be a steadfast and accurate outlet for President Trump to communicate with his supporters.  We pray that President Trump will indeed be able to continue influencing our country in all the ways that You have assigned to him at this time in history.  Bless You, Lord, for this good news.

7. Laid-off Keystone XL worker says decision to cancel pipeline ‘is going to hurt a lot of people’ - Fox News

In his first day in office, President Joe Biden signed an executive order to halt the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, which was meant to transport Canadian crude oil to the U.S., citing the climate-change crisis as the reason.

Neal Crabtree, a welding foreman who began working on pipeline construction as an apprentice in 1997, was dismayed when he heard the news. “This is not a time to be making political statements. We need to be finding ways to put more Americans back to work, not the other way around," he said in an interview with Fox News.

A member of Pipeliners Local Union 798, one of four unions whose members will be left without work due to the pipeline’s cancellation, the 46-year-old welder from Arkansas was among the first to be laid off following the order. At the time the cross-border permits for the pipeline were rescinded, he and his team were in Nebraska working on a pump station for Keystone XL. In a Facebook post from the Wednesday, Crabtree wrote he felt "a sick feeling in my stomach and an aching in my heart," and admitted to breaking down and crying in his truck after laying off his team. (Read more)

- Precious Lord, our hearts go out to these people who have lost their jobs with the cold-hearted swipe of pen. We pray for You to be their provision during this hard time to sustain them until they find other work. Father, we also pray that You would divinely intervene when the ones currently in the White House attempt to put into action policies that harm America, its people, and its safety.

- "All my bones shall say, 'Lord, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, yes, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?' (Psalms 35:10)

 8. Virginia Rule Allowing Late Ballots Missing Postmark Was Illegal, Court Rules - Daily Caller

The Virginia Board of Elections rule allowing officials to count ballots that arrived without a postmark up to three days after the election was illegal, a state judge ruled.

Virginia Circuit Court Judge William Eldridge ruled the state’s late mail-in ballot law violated state statute and permanently banned the law in future Virginia elections, the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) announced Monday. PILF sued the state’s board of elections in October on behalf of Thomas Reed, a Frederick County, Virginia election official.

“This is a big win for the Rule of Law,” PILF President and General Counsel J. Christian Adams said in a statement. “This consent decree gives Mr. Reed everything he requested – a permanent ban on accepting ballots without postmarks after Election Day and is a loss for the Virginia bureaucrats who said ballots could come in without these protections.” (Read more)

- Father God, we praise and thank You that Judge Eldridge ruled in favor of existing Virginia state statutes and disallowed the Board of Elections ruling in all future elections. Father, bless and protect him! May the Judge’s decision stand, and may it set legal precedent for other states who also wrongly dismissed existing voting statutes in their state constitutions for the November 3, 2020 elections. We continue to ask for all truth to be told regarding the election, and may those who ignored the Rule of Law be held accountable.

- The Lord detests differing weights, and dishonest scales do not please him. (Proverbs 20:23)

9. Trump endorses Sarah Huckabee Sanders for Arkansas governor - Fox News

Former President Donald Trump endorsed Sarah Huckabee Sanders in her run for Arkansas governor on Monday night, saying she will "always fight" for the people of the state and "do what is right."

Sanders served as Trump's White House press secretary until June 2019. She joined the Fox News Channel as a paid, on-air contributor in September 2019. A Fox News Media spokesperson confirmed on Sunday that her contributor agreement with the network has been terminated.

"Sarah is strong on Borders, tough on Crime, and fully supports the Second Amendment and our great law enforcement officers," Trump said in a statement. “She loves our Military and Veterans -- and her home state of Arkansas," he continued. "Sarah will be a GREAT Governor, and she has my Complete and Total Endorsement!" (Read more)

- Thank you, Lord, for this wonderful and encouraging news! We ask that You bless, protect and give great favor to Sarah Sanders in her run for the governor of the State of Arkansas. May she be an inspiration to more and more of Your people to run for public office. Give those You call the courage, favor, boldness and provision to go forward as they hear You your voice.

- Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)

10.  Supreme Court declines to take up pandemic restrictions on worship services - NBC News

The Supreme Court declined Monday to consider how far states can go without violating religious freedom when they impose restrictions on attendance at worship services to slow the spread of Covid-19.

In a one-line order, the court said it would not hear an appeal from Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley, a church in western Nevada that has been battling pandemic restrictions imposed by Gov. Steve Sisolak. The rules originally allowed casinos, restaurants and other businesses to operate at 50 percent capacity while limiting churches to no more than 50 people, regardless of a facility's size.

The state has since imposed a 25 percent capacity limit on most public gathering places, including movie theaters, casinos, restaurants, bars and religious constitutions. It therefore is not engaged in religious discrimination, lawyers for the state told the Supreme Court. (Read more)

Amendment 1: Freedom of Religion, Speech, and the Press; Right of Assembly

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

- Thank you, King of Kings, for our God-inspired Constitution. We plead for Your “…very present help in time of trouble” (Ps. 46:10), Lord, as it would seem that every aspect of the First Amendment is under grave threat at this time. We are desperate for Your help, Lord; may the Lion of Judah roar! In Yeshua’s name. Amen.

- …proclaim Liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. (Leviticus 25:10)

The Daily Jot

American Gulag

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, January 27, 2021

Many can remember the Soviet Gulag political labor camps where people who didn’t agree with the socialist/communist regime were sent for reeducation, the reprogramming of their minds to accept, even support communism. If they were not cured of their mental disease (individual rights, personal freedom) they were worked to death or executed. It is estimated that some 18 million people passed through Gulags and 1.6 million, or about 10% died. They may be gone in Russia, but China has a similar system for Christians, Muslims and other dissenters, in addition to its slave labor. Liberal influencers and Democratic Party leaders openly say they want to establish this for conservatives and Christians in America.

The New York Post reports that during a town hall meeting Friday, influencer and leader of the socialist democrats’ coalition in the US House of Representatives, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) suggested funding reeducation camps for those who voted for President Trump. Labeling them white supremacists, conspiracy theorists and those who pushed the theory that the election was stolen from President Trump, Ocasio-Cortez said that these “fringe radicals” operate in a “misinformation bubble” and it will take more than one conversation to de-program them, likening it to therapy. She called for the quadrupling of funding of such programs. Ocasio-Cortez is not the only one calling for such a radical concept.

On November 17, Democrat National Committee member David Atkins tweeted: “No seriously…how *do* you deprogram 75 million people? Where do you start? Fox? Facebook? We have to start thinking in terms of post-WWII Germany or Japan. Or the failures of Reconstruction in the South.” Apparently, after getting some heat on this statement, he backtracked two days later, tweeting: “And no, of course I’m not advocating “re-education camps” or anything like that. The point is that conservative infotainment is disinformation propaganda indistuinguishable from cult programming, and social media algorithms enable it.” Well, that’s exactly what he called for, in addition to censuring media outlets such as Fox and Breitbart (another tweet).

He and Ocasio-Cortez are joined by key Hollywood influencers, other senators and representatives, the corporate media, and technology platforms that have already begun censoring, outing, and doxing those who do not agree with their political views. Amazing that the mainstream news media isn’t going after these people for their extreme, radical communistic and fascist actions. To label 75 million people as radical, white supremacists and want to “reeducate” them is an outrage and a step toward tyranny. They are not talking about reeducating a few misguided people here, but rather all voters who did not vote for Joe Biden. We better become Ephesians 6:20 people: “That therein I may speak boldly as I ought to speak.” Otherwise, we may all be locked down permanently because we disagree with the radical notions of godless communists.

Judge Dismisses Charges Against Idaho Church Deacon Arrested for Singing Outdoors

An Idaho court has now dismissed charges against a deacon who was among three Christians arrested last September in Moscow, Idaho for participating in an outdoor worship service.

Deacon Gabriel Rench was detained during a "Psalm Sing" in the Moscow City Hall parking lot on Sept. 23. The event was hosted by Christ Church as one of the congregation's monthly hymn sings, according to attorneys with the Thomas More Society.

Nearly 200 people attended the outdoor gathering.

But police arrested those individuals for reportedly violating Moscow's mask mandate and the social distancing restrictions that were in place due to the pandemic.

Rench explained, "We had done the Psalm Sing in the past under the same (mask) resolution and we weren't arrested, we weren't warned…we were just taking our constitutional liberties to do what we're allowed to do under the Constitution – worship." (Read more)
