The Vatican Rejects Blessings for Homosexual Couples
A question to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith about whether or not the Church has the "power to give the blessing to unions of persons of the same sex" was answered in the "negative" by the congregation's prefect, Luis Cardinal Ladaria Ferrer. The congregation's statement was assented to by Pope Francis. While the statement was signed Feb. 22, it was only released today.
The Congregation stated that it is "not licit to impart a blessing on relationships, or partnerships, even stable, that involve sexual activity outside of marriage (i.e., outside the indissoluble union of a man and a woman open in itself to the transmission of life), as is the case of the unions between persons of the same sex."
"The presence in such relationships of positive elements, which are in themselves to be valued and appreciated, cannot justify these relationships and render them legitimate objects of an ecclesial blessing, since the positive elements exist within the context of a union not ordered to the Creator's plan," the statement read.
Blessings for homosexual couples has been especially pushed by Catholic Church leaders in Germany, such as Cardinal Reinhard Marx and other bishops who are part of the country’s “Synodal Path,” and have called for a blessing of such relationships liturgically.
The Catholic Church teaches that homosexuality is one of the four sins that cry to heaven for justice. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that “basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered’. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. 1. Netanyahu pledges to legalize West Bank settler outposts if re-elected - Jerusalem Post
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday pledged to authorize illegal West Bank settler outposts should the results of the March 23 election allow him to create a right-wing government, as he made his first campaign swing in Judea and Samaria for this fourth election cycle.
“I swear to you: If I create a strong right-wing government without a rotation, I will take care of the settlements and the authorization of the young settlements [outposts],” he said during a visit to the Givat Harel outpost in the West Bank’s Binyamin region.
Netanyahu spoke at an event that was closed to the media, and his remark was publicized by the Young Settlements Forum, whose representatives met with him at the outpost. (Read more)
2. Likud slams Yamina after it warns of another early election - Israel Hayom
The Likud attacked right-wing party Yamina on Sunday after one of its senior lawmakers, MK Ayelet Shaked, said the March 23 election could result in more gridlock and another early election several months later.
"Yamina leader Naftali Bennett is the only one who could replace Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu," she said. "Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid will not be prime minister. We have great momentum and we are going to get 13 seats or more; let's not forget that it was Netanyahu who formed a government with the Left," she continued.
In response, the Likud said, "This statement by Shaked defies the will of voters, who want a stable government that would jump-start the economy. The choice in this election could not be clearer: Only the Likud can prevent a fifth election and a rotating premiership with Lapid. Only the Likud can form a stable right-wing government that would make our economy dash forward toward the post-coronavirus era." (Read more)
3. Tel Aviv Hospital Closes Last Corona Ward - Jewish Press
Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv announced Monday that it has closed its last active ward treating Coronavirus (COVID-19) patients, following the current decline of the pandemic in Israel.
The last 18 Corona patients hospitalized in Ichilov, the main hospital complex serving Tel Aviv and its metropolitan area, were moved to a designated compound.
In another ease of the COVID-19 related restrictions in Israel, the Cabinet approved on Sunday night field trips for youth movements in open areas and overnight field trips for grades 11 and 12 and post-secondary boarding schools in which at least 90% of pupils have been vaccinated.
The Cabinet also approved opening Israel’s skies to flights from any destination. (Read more)
4. Israel to Push for UN Adoption of IRHA Definition of Antisemitism - Algemeiner
JNS.org – Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan is promoting an initiative that would see the international body adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism.
“Rising antisemitism around the world demands we act with additional tools and increase cooperation with the international community to create tools for enforcement against displays of antisemitic hatred in the field,” said Erdan. “The UN’s adoption of the official definition can limit some of the incitement against Israel at the UN that some of the member states have grown accustomed to, and will also better equip the whole UN to fight antisemitism.”
To enlist the UN to the effort, Erdan recently met over the weekend with UN Under-Secretary-General Miguel Moratinos, the body’s “point man” on antisemitism. The two discussed options for fighting antisemitism, as well as the possibility of the UN’s adopting of the IHRA definition of the term in such a way that obligates all of its organizations. 5. 'Hungary is leading the change in EU stance on Jerusalem' - Israel Hayom
A recent referendum vote by the Swiss people to ban face coverings in public, aimed mainly at Muslim women, bolsters the concerns of European communities throughout Europe over a wave of legislation across the continent that affects the rights of religious minorities.
One example is a recent Belgian law outlawing kosher slaughter. Other European bills have been proposed that would ban kosher slaughter and ritual circumcision out of concern for "rights of minors and animals."
In her first interview to the Israeli media, Hungarian Justice Minister Judit Varga, a senior member of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's cabinet and the Hungarian official in charge of EU affairs, expresses staunch opposition to European attempts to pass laws that hamper aspects of Jewish life in Europe.
"In the past 10 years, our government made every effort to guarantee the life of the Jewish community in Hungary. It is an issue of utmost importance. We think that other European governments should do the same," Varga tells Israel Hayom. (Read more)

1. Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance, who sought Trump's tax returns, to retire - Fox News
Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., a longtime foe of former President Donald Trump, will not run for re-election to a fourth term in 2022 as a long list of left-wing candidates are vying to take his place.
"When I ran for this job in 2009, I said that a District Attorney’s responsibilities should extend beyond obtaining convictions in court, and that a 21st century prosecutor’s mandate is to move our justice system and our community forward," Vance, 66, said in a statement on Friday.
Vance's office touted his focus on justice reform in a press release, saying it slashed total prosecutions by 58% and established programs for implicit bias review and equity and social justice.
Vance's office also touted Trump v. Vance, in which the Supreme Court ruled that Trump was not immune to a subpoena from Vance over his financial and tax records, and People v. Weinstein, which led to the downfall of entertainment mogul Harvey Weinstein. (Read more)

2. House Minority Leader McCarthy to call for Rep. Swalwell's removal from intelligence committee – Fox
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., on Friday said he will offer a resolution to remove Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., from the House Intelligence Committee "next week."
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Friday reinstated Swalwell onto the committee despite Republican concerns that the former Democratic presidential candidate poses a "national security threat" following reports that an undercover Chinese national, known as Fang Fang, helped fundraise for his 2014 re-election campaign, unbeknownst to Swalwell.
"Pelosi just reappointed Eric Swalwell to the Intelligence Committee," McCarthy tweeted Friday. "Based on the briefing she and I received together, Swalwell should not be on the panel in charge of guarding our nation's secrets. Next week, I will offer a resolution to remove him from the Intel Committee." (Read more)

3. National Guard Association Disagrees with Defense Secretary’s Order to Occupy Capitol - Breitbart
The chairman of the National Guard Association, representing more than 450,000 citizen soldiers, says it is time for the Capitol Police to resume responsibility for the safety of the Capitol, agreeing with Daniel Hokanson, the National Guard bureau chief general, who Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin overruled on Tuesday.
According to a report, the National Guard Association Chairman and Arizona Adjunct General, Major General Michael McGuire, said, “This enduring requirement of having them around the city, I think it’s completely inappropriate at best, illegal at worst.”
The comment comes after Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin approved a two-month continuation for nearly 2,300 Guard members to “buy them [Capitol Police] some time and space.”
Daniel Hokanson said in a memo from March 4 that “he disagreed with Austin’s decision given Guard responsibilities in their home states,” the Washington Examiner reported. McGuire is the only adjunct general to deny National Guard deployment authorization to Washington, DC since January 9.
“Every American citizen should be concerned that an unelected Cabinet secretary can move forces into the city,” McGuire said. “The National Guard specifically is the last line of defense for direct policing action only in the emergent period when it is life, limb, protection of property.” (Read more)

4. Homeland Security Member Makes Stunning Prediction On How Many Illegals Will Be Trying To Enter U.S. By Summer – Daily Wire
Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), a member of the Homeland Security Committee, predicted during a Fox News interview on Tuesday that a million illegal aliens will be trying to unlawfully enter the U.S. by summer as President Joe Biden’s border crisis continues to worsen.
“President Biden says he wants us to be humane, he’s actually created a humanitarian crisis, these poor children, they get trafficked all the way up that dangerous route,” he said. “And now we don’t have enough detention space to put them in and then you get the COVID crisis down there as well. I think, they created this Biden border crisis, they need to fix it.”
Later in the interview, McCaul said, “I predict this, and by summer, you’re going to see as my governor just said, that probably, you know, somewhere around a million people trying to get into this country, illegally.” (Read more)

5. Mexico ‘Worried’ That Biden Is ‘Stoking Illegal Immigration,’ ‘Creating Business For Organized Crime’: Report – Daily Wire
Mexico’s left-wing government is reportedly concerned that Democrat President Joe Biden’s policies are sparking a massive surge in illegal immigration to the U.S. and are providing business for the nation’s violent drug cartels.
Reuters reported this week that, according to government officials and reports, Mexico is “worried the new U.S. administration’s asylum policies are stoking illegal immigration and creating business for organized crime.” Biden’s policies have already significantly impacted the border situation as more than 100,000 migrants were detained last month for illegally trying to enter the U.S., the highest total for the month of February since 2006.
“They see him as the migrant president, and so many feel they’re going to reach the United States,” Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said of Biden. “We need to work together to regulate the flow, because this business can’t be tackled from one day to the next.”
The report said that Mexican intelligence has found that the cartels are “diversifying methods of smuggling and winning clients as they eye U.S. measures that will ‘incentivize migration.'”

6. Beyond Covid relief: Biden invokes LBJ as Democrats aim to expand welfare state - Politico
Nearly $2 trillion in fresh relief benefits are expected to start flowing into Americans’ bank accounts within days. Now, Democrats are already looking to make some of them permanent.
With President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan signed into law, Democratic lawmakers are exploring ways to ensure that generous tax credits and other key aspects of the legislation will last well beyond the pandemic itself, either through additional rounds of extensions or more permanent measures.
Democratic leaders are banking on some of the aid provisions being so popular that letting them expire would be a political nightmare, painful enough for Americans that even Republicans couldn’t stand in the way.
At the top of the list is making permanent the expanded child tax credit, a move supporters believe could generate bipartisan backing and which analysts say would cut child poverty nearly in half. But some lawmakers and outside experts expect Democrats will also fight to keep the expansions of the earned income tax credit and a second program for child and dependent care, while further extensions of food assistance and boosted unemployment benefits are also likely.
"Getting something out of the [tax] code is often harder than getting something into the code,” House Ways and Means Chair Richard Neal (D-Mass.) said. “What we did is unlikely to go away.” (Read more)

7. Pro-Lifers Blast Biden: Covid Bill Has 'Massive Expansion of Taxpayer-Funded Abortion' – Christian Headlines
A major pro-life group is criticizing President Biden for signing the COVID-19 relief package, alleging he betrayed his pledge for unity by supporting a bill that includes a “massive” expansion of tax-funded abortion.
The $1.9 trillion bill, known as the American Rescue Plan, includes money for stimulus checks, unemployment assistance and aid to states, among other things.
But it also includes money that will be used for abortion, according to the pro-life organization Susan B. Anthony List, which lambasted the bill for not including Hyde Amendment-type language prohibiting taxpayer-funded abortion.
“Once an ardent supporter of the Hyde Amendment, today Biden’s transformation is complete,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List. “He has fully caved to extremists in his party, signing a massive expansion of taxpayer-funded abortion. Not only is this inconsistent with prior Covid-19 relief packages, but it breaks four decades of bipartisan consensus – betraying Biden’s promise to unite the country.”
The Hyde Amendment is a legislative provision dating to the 1970s that prohibits federal funds from being used for abortions. It has been supported by every Republican and Democratic president since then, including Presidents Carter, Clinton and Obama. Biden supported the Hyde Amendment as a senator and vice president but now opposes it.
An amendment that would have added Hyde-type language to the bill was defeated in Congress. U.S. Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) said previous Covid relief bills passed in the last year included such an amendment. (Read more)

8. Pelosi Kicks Off Infrastructure Debate, Teases ‘Big, Bold, and Transformational’ Package- The Epoch Times
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on March 12 that she has directed key Democratic lawmakers to work with Republicans on drafting the next big legislative push from Congress—the much-anticipated infrastructure package. Pelosi said it would be “big, bold, and transformational,” but it’s also drawing scrutiny on how it will be paid for.
Pelosi made the announcement in a statement infused with hope for bipartisanship, which fell short in the American Rescue Plan. Democrats passed the $1.9 trillion package along strictly partisan lines, with Republicans denouncing it as a “liberal wish list” that was packed with non-pandemic-related spending.
“Building our transportation system has long been bipartisan,” Pelosi said. “It is our hope that spirit will prevail as we address other critical needs in energy and broadband, education and housing, water systems and other priorities.” (Read more)

9. Meghan Markle Reportedly Eyeing Bid For The White House, Talking To Top U.S. Democrats- Daily Wire
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly “networking” with top leaders of the Democratic Party and mulling a run for U.S. president in 2024.
The report, which came in the Daily Mail, cites an unnamed British Labour Party official.
“The Blairite, internationalist and Democratic party networks are buzzing with talk about Meghan’s political ambitions and potential backers,” the anonymous source told the U.K. paper.
“During the US election last year they levelled a thinly veiled attack on Donald Trump by urging voters to ‘reject hate speech,’ which a spokesperson for the couple described as ‘a call for decency.’ Trump himself declared that he was ‘not a fan’ of Meghan, 39,” said the paper.
Markle is allegedly prepping in case Biden, who will be 82 in 2024, decides not to run for a second term, the source said. And her biographer and longtime friend, Omid Scobie, has also claimed that the one-time actress “has her eyes set on the U.S. presidency.” (Read more)

10. China, North Korea loom as Blinken, Austin head to Asia – Stars and Stripes
Threats from China and North Korea will loom large over the Biden administration's first Cabinet-level trip abroad, part of a larger effort to bolster U.S. influence and calm concerns about America's role in Asia.
A senior administration official said Saturday that U.S. officials have tried to reach out to North Korea through multiple channels since last month, but have yet to receive a response, making consultations with the reclusive country's neighbors, Japan, South Korea and China, all the more critical.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin are heading to Japan and South Korea for four days of talks starting Monday as the administration seeks to shore up partnerships with the two key regional treaty allies. Blinken and Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, will then meet with senior Chinese officials in Anchorage, Alaska. (Read more)

The Cuomo Shell Game

Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) is an example of how the Democratic Party deals with people they know are a liability. Cuomo led the Democratic governors in handling COVID-19 with directives to send infected people to nursing homes, giving the death sentence to over 16,000 people in New York alone—a figure his aides tried to remove from a report written by state health officials. The New York Times reports Cuomo’s top aide Melissa DeRosa and others, began changing the report to protect the governor’s image. Rather than have investigations of many governors about COVID death policies, sex becomes the issue of focus in the news media and among Democratic Party leaders.
According to the Washington Examiner, “Governors from Michigan, California, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, all Democrats, enacted similar policies last year as fears grew that hospitals would be overwhelmed with new patients and too few healthcare providers.” The Democratic Party has a real problem on its hands. Democratic governors in key states sending thousands of COVID patients to nursing homes to their deaths. These stories were coming out in the beginning of March. But then there was another story that started coming out that diverted public attention—how Cuomo made improper comments to and advances toward women, which immediately overshadowed the nursing home death camp stories.
The first of the so-far seven ladies who have come forward, Lindsey Boylan, wrote an op-ed for Medium.com detailing how Cuomo made unwanted advances toward her on several occasions, including trapping her in his office. Boylan claimed Cuomo “created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bulling is so pervasive that it is not only condoned, but expected.” Boylan said, “It was all so normalized—particularly by Melissa DeRosa and other top women around him—that only now do I realize how insidious his abuse was.” In May 2020, DeRosa, Secretary to the Governor and Chair of the New York State Council on Women and Girls, spearheaded a hastily assembled task force that tried to inoculate the Governor against sexual assault by “reimagining” services to domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
On June 11, 2020, Cuomo said in the news release announcing “acceptance” of the task force’s recommendations, “The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a drastic increase in the number of reported domestic violence cases in the state, leaving many survivors trapped at home with their abusers without access to help or resources.” He might now add, “and trapped in my office” as more women come forward. These are all horrible charges. And it seems that whenever a politician becomes a liability, sexual accusations are the downfall, not necessarily the original egregious act—in this case making citizens carry death to nursing homes. As Christ said in Luke 12:2, “For there is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed.” In this case, it’s a shell game of hidden atrocities and in the eyes of politicians, it’s better Cuomo resign for sex issues than death issues.

"What a showing last night around 9:30 p.m. Eastern Time," says Kiczenski. "The pinks and greens were visible to the naked eye. I lost my entire train of thought. I cheered. I may have shed a tear, even. I'm shocked I managed to get this in focus with all the excitement! Best I've seen to date."
Auroras were also sighted in Minnesota and Wisconsin. There's nothing special about auroras in the USA, per se. Canadians had an even better show. But auroras touching the "lower 48" are a sign that Solar Cycle 25 is intensifying. Today, it's Minnesota and Michigan; in a few years, perhaps, California and Texas. Stay tuned!

Lankford and Scott Introduce Senate Bill to Protect Faith-Based Adoption Providers from Discrimination
Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) joined Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) on Wednesday to introduce the Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act, which would protect faith-based child welfare providers from being discriminated against for acting in accordance with their deeply held religious beliefs.

Unfortunately, the Biden administration and some in Congress have taken the position that you have to check your faith at the door if you want to help children in need of a forever home," the senator continued.
