Biden Confirms He’ll Make Announcement on Gun Control This Week
Joe Biden said he’ll make an announcement on his upcoming gun control plan on Friday, coming after reports that suggested he would sign an executive order on guns in the near future.
When asked about reports saying he would take executive action soon, Biden responded in saying he would talk about his plan for gun control “the day after tomorrow.” It’s not clear if he will sign an executive order.
Earlier Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that “I think he sees it as vital to take steps on two tracks because congressional legislation obviously has a more permanent, lasting impact.”
“Executive actions are, of course, an important lever that every president has at their disposal,” she said. During the news conference, Psaki declined to say what policies Biden would sign. “I don’t have anything to preview,” she added. “I can convey that I expect the president will have more to say tomorrow.”
According to a report from Politico, Biden’s order may center on so-called “ghost guns,” which would require individuals to undergo background checks when they purchase kits to build a gun. It’s unclear if this would apply to guns that are 3-D printed. The Epoch Times has contacted the White House for comment.
More than 100 House Democrats last month sent a letter to Biden and urged him to take action on concealed firearms similar to the one that was allegedly used in the Colorado shooting. Suspected Boulder gunman Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa used a semi-automatic Ruger AR-556 pistol, which is a smaller variant of an AR-15-style rifle.
In the midst of such proposals, however, gun sales in the United States have skyrocketed. March 2021 had the second-highest number of background checks for the purchase of a firearm in recorded history, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). Only March of 2020 had higher numbers. (Read more)

Having been formally tasked with assembling a government, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set out Tuesday to secure an elusive ruling majority, scheduling a meeting with Yamina chief Naftali Bennett and reportedly offering senior positions to potential ‘defectors’ from parties that oppose him.
After lawmakers in the 24th Knesset were sworn in Tuesday, Netanyahu urged political parties to end their “personal boycotts” and join his government, vowing to make “every effort” to end the “cycle of elections” and establish a “strong government for all of Israel’s citizens.
This won’t be a government of paralysis, but rather a government of action,” he said at a Likud faction meeting. “To do this, the government must be united, both in policy and action. And to create it, we must first end the personal boycotts.” (Read more)
2. Netanyahu's solution? Smotrich supporting government from outside - Israel National News
Sources close to Prime Minister Netanyahu have in recent hours presented a way out of the political quagmire that will allow the chairman of the Religious Zionism Party, Bezalel Smotrich, to maintain his values while temporarily relinquishing his position.
Sources suggest that Smotrich will vote in favor of the formation of a government in the Knesset that relies on the support of members of the United Arab List, but will give up on sitting in the government for the time being.
In the Likud's estimation, there is a good chance that Smotrich will respond to a move that will present him as a man of values who keeps his word and yet on the other hand will allow the formation of a right-wing government and prevent fifth elections. (Read more)
3. Netanyahu: We Will Not Be Bound by an Iran Deal That Threatens to Destroy Us - World Israel News
Speaking from Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed a warning at the Biden administration and others seeking to reenter the Iran deal during his speech on Holocaust Remembrance Day, which began at sundown on Wednesday.
His remarks come one day after reports that Iran and the U.S. will set up two working groups to get both countries back into compliance with the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. One will deal with lifting Trump administration sanctions. The other will focus on how to roll back Iran’s nuclear enrichment.
“The nuclear deal with Iran, which gives it international approval to advance the development of an arsenal of atomic bombs, is once again on the table. But history has taught us that such agreements, with such extremist regimes, aren’t worth the paper they’re written on,” Netanyahu said. (Read more)
4. Israel notifies US it attacked Iranian ship in Red Sea - report - Jerusalem Post
Israel notified the US that it is responsible for Tuesday’s attack on an Iranian cargo ship affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, an American official told The New York Times.
A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed on Wednesday that the Saviz was lightly damaged in the Red Sea off the coast of Djibouti at about 6 a.m. on Tuesday due to an explosion, adding that the cause is under investigation.
“The Saviz civilian ship was stationed in the Red Sea region and the Gulf of Aden to establish maritime security along the shipping lanes and to counter piracy,” said the spokesman. “This ship practically acted as a logistics station (technical support and logistics) of Iran in the Red Sea, and therefore the specifications and mission of this ship had previously been officially announced.”
According to the ministry, no casualties were reported. (Read more)
5. After 63 Years, Sudan Moves to Repeal Israel Boycott Law - Jewish Press
Sudan’s cabinet voted on Tuesday to repeal the 1958 law calling for a boycott on the Jewish state, several months after Israel and Sudan announced the normalization of relations, and 63 years after the enactment of the law.
The decision now requires the approval of Sudan’s Sovereign Council.
The law called for a boycott of Israel and Israelis and carried a sentence of up to 10 years in jail and a fine for those who breached it.
Sudan normalized it ties with Israel in October 2020 as part of a rapprochement with the US and its removal from the “state sponsors of terrorism” blacklist. (Read more)

1. Investigation Finds 'Clear' Link Between COVID Vaccine and Blood Clots in Brain - Western Journal
A link between AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine and rare blood clots in the brain has been discovered, but officials have yet to identify a possible cause, according to a senior European Medicines Agency official. “In my opinion, we can now say it, it is clear that there is an association (of the brain blood clots) with the vaccine,” Mario Cavaleri, chair of the EMA vaccine evaluation team, said, according to Reuters. “However, we still do not know what causes this reaction.”
The EMA clarified in a statement that the vaccine review was ongoing and the agency expects to announce its findings this week. “At present the review has not identified any specific risk factors, such as age, gender or a previous medical history of clotting disorders, for these very rare events,” the statement read. “A causal link with the vaccine is not proven, but is possible and further analysis is continuing.” (Read more)

2. MO Gov. Parson: We’re ‘Never’ Going to Mandate COVID Vaccine Passport in Missouri - Brietbart
Wednesday on FNC’s “Fox & Friends,” Missouri Gov. Mike Parson (R) said his state is “never” going to mandate a COVID-19 vaccine passport. This comes as some are pushing for those who have been vaccinated to carry around a passport for travel or entry into events.
Parson questioned if citizens want the federal government to have all of that information in a database to be used on them for whatever reason in the future. He added it is “not government’s place” to mandate things such as a vaccine passport or even masks.
One, it’s all about the privacy of the individual who received the vaccine, who didn’t. Also … do we really want the federal government to have all that information in its database to be able to use it for whatever reason they might want to use it as time goes forward?” Parson emphasized. “And I think the other thing is, we have been in the vaccination business for four months actually with COVID-19. This whole process for over a year now has had so many unknowns in it, so many people that were experts that really turned out not to be so experts, and all the things we have heard from this. So, who knows where this vaccine is going to go? I’m not sure what the end result of this is going to be yet on what it does. So, I think it’s way premature.” (Read more)

3. Trade Deficit Widened to Record $71.1 Billion in Biden’s First Full Month - Brietbart
Economists had forecast a trade gap of $70.4 billion. The January gap was revised down from $68.2 billion to $67.8 billion. Both imports and exports fell in the month but the pace of the decline of exports was much swifter, enlarging the deficit. Imports fell seven-tenths of a percentage point but remain near record highs. Exports fell 2.6 percent.
The trade in goods deficit rose by $2.8 billion to $88 billion. The services surplus shrank $500,000 million to $16.9 billion.
U.S. exports have been hurt by the return off lockdowns and slumping economies across the globe, particularly in Europe. American spending has been bolstered by the strength of the U.S. economy, enhanced unemployment benefits, and stimulus payments—and a large portion of that spending is leaking out to foreign producers through imports. 4. Former Trump adviser Stephen Miller starts group to help mount legal challenges to Biden policies - Just The News
Former President Trump aide Stephen Miller is forming a law organization to challenge President Biden's actions that Miller thinks are illegal.
"Anything the president does that we believe to be illegal is fair game," Miller said about his "America First Legal," according to The Wall Street Journal.
Miller hope to get help from former Trump administration lawyers and Republican state attorneys general to help lawyers across the country who need financial or legal help with their cases. Miller said he was inspired by the litigation tactics of such former Trump's detractors as the American Civil Liberties Union. (Read more)

North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee (D) says that he's joined the GOP and is leaving "elitist" and "socialist" Democrats in the dust.
Lee announced on Tuesday that he is leaving the Democratic Party and becoming a Republican. He appeared Tuesday on "Fox & Friends," where he cited what he said are the party's "elitist" and "socialist" ways for his abrupt departure.
"In the Democratic Party of Nevada, they had an election recently for leadership, and four of the five people were card-carrying members of the socialistic [sic] party," he said. "It's not the party that I grew up with 25 years ago in this environment, and it's not the party I can stand with any more." (Read more)

6. Nolte: Woke United Airlines Admits It Will No Longer Train Most Qualified Pilots - Brietbart
Yes, the Woketards at United Airlines are openly bragging that when it comes to its training program for its pilots and co-pilots and navigators, skin color and gender come before skill and experience.
Our flight deck should reflect the diverse group of people on board our planes every day,” the sociopaths at United Airlines tweeted Tuesday. “That’s why we plan for 50% of the 5,000 pilots we train in the next decade to be women or people of color.”
What you will see is United openly admitting it will no longer pick the most qualified for its training programs. Instead, they will choose candidates based on skin color and gender status, as long as — and here’s what’s scary — those with the correct skin color and gender meet United’s minimum standards.
In other words, if the minimum standard is, say, 25 points, and those with the correct skin color and gender score a 26, they will be trained to fly your plane; they will be affirmative action’d in over someone with the incorrect skin color . . . who scored a 35. (Read more)

7. Jen Psaki: Joe Biden and Barack Obama ‘Share a Bond’ and ‘Speak Regularly’ - Brietbart
“They speak regularly,” Psaki said during the White House press briefing. “They, of course, were president and vice president, but they are also friends.” Psaki said that Biden and Obama had built a friendship after serving together in Obama’s presidential administration.
They share a bond of serving through eight years of the Obama-Biden administration, but also personal friendship and kinship,” she said. Psaki declined to detail the conversations, repeating again that the pair speak “regularly.”

Stupidocrisy: 60 Minutes Pay to Play

Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) bucked the system. His COVID 19 policies defied wokeness by not shutting down the state’s entire economy and quarantining healthy people. He didn’t send COVID-infected people to nursing homes. He didn’t release COVID-infected prisoners from jail. He didn’t force people to stay at home and wear masks. He didn’t follow the cancel culture’s rules of engagement. His state showed tremendous progress. Can’t have that. DeSantis seems to have stunning common sense that is winning the day. DeSantis is looking like a threat to future Democratic presidential hopefuls. So CBS’s “60 Minutes” decides to put an end to DeSantis’ by fabricating a narrative. After all, it usually works.
But this time, the poster child for fake news got caught with its lying fingers on the edit machine. 60 Minutes correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi attempted a political assassination with her story that DeSantis had accepted a $100,000 pay to play political donation from Publix supermarkets in return for awarding Publix a COVID vaccine distribution contract. Problem was the story was an entire fabrication. 60 Minutes edited DeSantis’ responses to Alfonsi at a news conference to make it look like DeSantis was guilty, when in reality, DeSantis totally debunked her narrative. His account was also backed by elected Democratic Party officials, who were pleased with the governor’s vaccine distribution plans.
To top it off as an example of how corporate media works together to promote false and damaging narratives, Breitbart News reports the unedited video of the governor’s response to Alfonsi was removed from YouTube after conservatives began sharing it. Let’s roll back the clock to August 2016 when Judicial Watch revealed some 745 State Department documents and emails, in which Hillary Clinton’s top State Department aide Huma Abedin “provided expedited, direct access to Clinton for donors who had contributed from $25,000 to $10 million to the Clinton Foundation. In many instances, Clinton Foundation top executive Doug Band, who worked with the Foundation throughout Hillary Clinton’s tenure at State, coordinated closely with Abedin.”
That was just one small aspect of Clinton’s pay to play machine. But what did we hear from 60 Minutes back then? Crickets. Mainstream media refused to cover Clinton’s documented pay to play scheme. Roll the tape forward a bit. The mainstream media refused to cover Joe Biden’s pay for play scheme with Ukraine, Russia and China through his various family members, documented in the tens of millions of dollars. But DeSantis actually does a good service and 60 Minutes fabricates a pay to play bribery scheme. In Exodus 23:8 the Lord says, “And you shall take no bribe: for the bribe blinds the wise, and perverts the words of the righteous.” Clinton and Biden are proven to enrich themselves with bribes and get away with it scot-free, while an innocent man is accused mercilessly. Say it with me…Stupidocrisy.

Beijing Accelerating Timeline For Possible Invasion Of Taiwan, Expert Warns
The Chinese communist regime is accelerating its plans to invade Taiwan, an expert warns, as Beijing ratchets up military maneuvers against the island. Twenty Chinese military aircraft – including four nuclear-capable H-6K bombers, 10 J-16 fighter jets, two Y-8 anti-submarine warfare aircraft, and a KJ-500 airborne early warning and control aircraft – entered Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on March 26, according to Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense. It was the largest incursion ever reported by the ministry.
Taiwan’s ADIZ, located adjacent to the island’s territorial airspace, is an area where incoming planes must identify themselves to the island’s air traffic controller. The incursion caps off a significant increase in hostility by Beijing against Taiwan since 2020. Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen, re-elected last January, has taken a hard line against threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), while the island has deepened its cooperation with the United States—prompting the regime to escalate its warmongering towards the island.
The CCP sees Taiwan as a part of its territory and has threatened war to bring the island under its fold. The self-ruled island is in reality a de-facto independent country with its own democratically-elected government, military, constitution, and currency. (The Conservative Angle)

SPRITE SEASON BEGINS
Spring is the season for sprites, and Paul Smith just photographed a magnificent display over Kansas. "These were my first big sprites of the season," says Smith, who took this picture on April 6th:
"They were so bright, I saw a couple of them with my unaided eyes," he adds.
Sprites are a weird form of lightning that leap up from powerful thunderstorms. These are "jellyfish sprites", named for their resemblance to sea creatures. Their red tentacles stretch about 90 km high, almost touching the edge of space.
At this time of year, severe storms set the stage for sprite formation. Mesoscale convective systems sweep across the Great Plains, cracking with intense electric fields that drive electrons up and into sprites. La Niña conditions in the Pacific Ocean may amplify this process.
Although the sprites were in Kansas, Smith saw them from Oklahoma. "I was about 200 miles away from the thunderstorm," says Smith. Turns out, that's about the right distance. You have to be far away to see sprites over the top of the thunderclouds.
Although sprites have been reported by pilots and storm chasers for more than a century, many scientists were skeptical. Can you blame them? "Doctor, I just saw a giant red jellyfish in the sky!" A turning point came in 1989 when sprites were photographed by researchers at the University of Minnesota and cameras onboard the space shuttle. Now sprites are in the mainstream.
