- Lord God, we thank You that You are a GOD who hears our prayers, and who will answer in Your way and in Your time. Father God, we now bring before You the critical need to see S.1 BLOCKED in the U.S. Senate Rules and Administration Committee, so that its passage in the Senate would be null and void.
Holy One, we thank You that our very Constitution was based upon Your Word in Isaiah 33:22, and that in that Word You do promise to save us! We stand on that promise today, and we thank You that Your Word will not return void in the blocking of this very dangerous bill that would otherwise destroy the very foundation of our governmental system. In Your Name we pray, amen and amen.

1. Rocket Barrages Hit Israel from Gaza, Sirens Sound in Jerusalem- Jerusalem Post
The IDF warned Hamas that all options, including a ground operation, were on the table after dozens of rockets fired towards Jerusalem and southern Israel as thousands of Israelis were parading through downtown to celebrate Jerusalem Day.
Following the rocket fire, the Israel Air Force carried out several strikes in Gaza, killing at least three Hamas militants and three children.
Hamas had threatened Israel earlier in the day that it would launch the rockets due to the ongoing clashes in Jerusalem and shortly after 6 p.m. seven rockets were fired towards the capital.
The IDF said that one was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. Another struck an empty house in a community near Jerusalem. Dozens of rockets were also fired towards Sderot, Ashkelon and neighboring communities as well. (Read more)

2. State of Emergency in Southern Israel, Tel Aviv Opens Public Bomb Shelters - Jewish Press
The municipality of Tel Aviv-Jaffa (Yafo) announced a few minutes before 10 pm Monday night that it was opening the public bomb shelters in the city.
Barely a minute later, a fresh barrage of rockets was fired at Israel from Gaza, targeting communities near the Gaza border and as far north as the coastal city of Ashkelon.
Israel declared a state of emergency Monday night in the area up to 50 miles around Gaza after a situational assessment held earlier in the day. Defense Minister Benny Ganz said he would convene a situational assessment with top military personnel.
Dozens of missiles were aimed earlier at Ashkelon and nearby communities, as well as in the community of Kerem Shalom east of southern Gaza at around 9:09 pm, according to Israeli television news reports. (Read more)

3. Watch: Temple Mount tree set ablaze above Western Wall - Israel National News
A tree was set on fire on the Temple Mount above the Western Wall Monday evening as the rocket fire from Gaza continued.
Seven rockets were fired by the Hamas terrorist organization at Jerusalem Monday. Dozens of other rockets have been fired at southern Israel by Hamas and Islamic Jihad,
Over 300 Arab rioters and 21 police officers were injured in riots and clashes on the Temple Mount Monday morning. (Read more)

4. Netanyahu says terrorists 'crossed red line,' Israel will respond 'with massive force' - Israel Hayom
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has summoned his senior ministers for a meeting of the Diplomatic-Security Cabinet in the wake of the ongoing escalation in Jerusalem and the Gaza area, while Hamas issued an ultimatum to Israel to stop its efforts to quell the violence.
Israeli authorities vowed a major response in the immediate aftermath of the launches, with Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson Hidai Zilberman vowing to exact a "heavy price" from the Gaza rulers, adding that "this is a major incident and we will not let it slide."
He added: "If Hamas has yet to understand, they will now, once we act in the Gaza Strip. The message is clear and a large-scale offensive is on the table, as well as any other activity directed against Hamas. We have well-defined contingency plans...this is an unacceptable infringement of Israeli sovereignty and if the rocket fire continues after our response, we will strike again." (Read more)

5. Jews banned from Temple Mount on Jerusalem Day as violent clashes continue - World Israel News
Israeli authorities banned Jews from ascending to the Temple Mount on Jerusalem Day as violent clashes between Palestinian rioters and police continued unabated on Monday morning.
Overnight, thousands of Palestinians gathered in the Temple Mount compound, collecting rocks and other ad hoc weapons, police said.
On Monday morning, scores of rioters began hurling rocks at a police outpost and the Mughrabi Bridge, which connects the Western Wall Plaza to the Temple Mount, according to a police statement.
The police entered the Temple Mount to stop the barrage of projectiles, using riot control methods including shooting stun grenades, to disperse the crowds. (Read more)

Abba, we thank You that you always hear our prayers. We stand united right now and lift up the nation of Israel before you. Father we ask that You bring peace to Jerusalem and all of Israel at this time. We pray for the protection of life and against destruction of people's homes and buildings.
We ask, Father, that you give wisdom to the Israeli leaders on what to do next. We ask that all weapons that are formed against Israel never come to prosper. We pray for the salvation of the people who are seeking to destroy Israel. We pray for Your truth to be revealed to them and their hearts be changed. Send the angel armies, God, to protect the air, land, and sea from the weapons of the enemy. Release your Shalom over Your Holy Land and bring peace. In the name of Yeshua, amen.

1. Democrats Draft Legislation To Erect Permanent ‘Insurrection Memorial’ – National Pulse
Co-sponsored by nearly 20 Democrats, the bill, dubbed the Capitol Remembrance Act, would “direct the Architect of the Capitol to design and install in the United States Capitol an exhibit that depicts the attack on the Capitol that occurred on January 6, 2021.”
The bill specifies that the project must be installed in a “prominent location” and retain a “permanent” status. Property “damaged during the attack,” photographs, and a plaque honoring the “sacrifice of heroes, including United States Capitol Police Officers Brian Sicknick” are among the exhibit requirements. Officer Sicknick, however, died of natural causes according to D.C.’s Chief Medical Examiner.
The Architect may include artwork created to depict the attack on the Capitol,” the bill adds.
The legislation adds to the Democratic party’s continued exploitation of the events on January 6th, epitomized by President Biden, who recently referred to the event as “worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War” and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who professed she thought she “was going to die” when Trump supporters entered the U.S. Capitol despite the fact the congresswoman was in an entirely different building at the time of the attack. 2. China’s Emissions Exceeded Those Of All Other Developed Nations Combined: Report-Daily Wire
A new report released late week found that communist China’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2019 were higher than the rest of the developed world combined.
The report was published by the Rhodium Group, a leading independent research provider that specializes in matters involving China, energy & climate, India, and economics.
“Using our newly updated global emissions data through 2019, we estimate that in 2019, for the first time since national greenhouse gas emissions have been measured, China’s annual emissions exceeded those of all developed countries combined,” the report said. “China’s emissions were less than a quarter of developed country emissions in 1990, but over the past three decades have more than tripled, reaching over 14 gigatons of CO2-equivalent in 2019.” (Read more)

3. Chinese Military Scientists Discussed Weaponizing SARS Coronaviruses In Document Obtained By U.S. Government: Australian Media- Daily Wire
Scientists in the Chinese military discussed weaponizing SARS coronaviruses in a document obtained by the United States Government where they discussed their ideas about using biological weapons to win a third world war.
“The document, written by People’s Liberation Army scientists and senior Chinese public health officials in 2015, was obtained by the US State Department as it conducted an investigation into the origins of COVID-19,” The Weekend Australian reported exclusively. “The paper describes SARS coronaviruses as heralding a ‘new era of genetic weapons’ and says they can be ‘artificially manipulated into an emerging human disease virus, then weaponized and unleashed in a way never seen before.’”
The report was careful to caution that no information has been made public suggesting that the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic was the result of an intentional act. Many officials have urged investigations into the Wuhan Institute of Virology to determine if that lab, which is China’s only Biosafety Level-4 lab (BSL-4), had any role in the origin of the pandemic. BSL-4 is a designation for facilities that are designed to handle pathogens so contagious and dangerous that “infections caused by these microbes are frequently fatal and without treatment or vaccines,” according to the CDC.
The report states that chairmen of the British and Australian foreign affairs and intelligence committees, Tom Tugendhat and James Paterson, were alarmed by the document, and indicated that it raised serious concerns over the transparency coming out of communist China about the origins of the pandemic. The document is titled, “The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons.” (Read more)

4. U.S. turning corner on pandemic, says White House COVID coordinator- Yahoo News/Reuters
The United States is closer to getting the coronavirus pandemic under control and health officials are focused on the next challenge: getting more Americans vaccinated, the White House COVID-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients said on Sunday.
"I would say we are turning the corner," Zients said in an interview with CNN's "State of the Union."
Zients said about 58% of American adults have received at least one coronavirus vaccine shot. The task now is to continue building confidence in vaccines and get enough Americans vaccinated to mitigate the spread of the virus and its variants, he said.
U.S. health officials are aiming to meet President Joe Biden's goal of 70% of American adults having at least one shot by the July 4 U.S. Independence Day. (Read more)

5. Biden glosses over disappointing jobs figures, calls for even more spending – Washington Examiner
President Joe Biden tried to dress up a disappointing April jobs report, saying it shows that the pandemic-slowed economy has a "long way to go" and needs another jolt from his proposed $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan — and then even more federal spending.
"We knew this wouldn't be a sprint, and, America, quite frankly, we're moving more rapidly than I thought," Biden said, speaking from the White House's East Room. "This report reinforces the real truth. For years, working people and middle-class people, people who built this country, had been left out in the cold, struggling just to keep their heads above water."
The president is trying to make a case that the numbers justify the White House's more than $2 trillion "American Rescue Plan" and its other spending proposals, paid for with tax hikes on corporations and very wealthy individuals. (Read more)

House Republicans return to Washington this week embroiled in a bitter battle over the direction of the party, the face of its leadership and what role former President Trump should play heading into next year’s elections — and far beyond.
All three of those questions will take center stage Wednesday when the GOP conference will gather behind closed doors in the Capitol to decide the fate of Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyo.), the third-ranking House Republican, whose sustained attacks on Trump for lying about his election defeat have quickly made her a pariah in the eyes of many colleagues.

7. Biden Throws Out Trump Reform, Gives ‘De Facto Amnesty’ to Illegal Aliens Ordered Deported – Breitbart
President Joe Biden’s administration is throwing out a reform sought by former President Trump that would have stopped the federal government from issuing work permits to illegal aliens with final deportation orders.
Last year, Trump issued a proposed rule change to prevent the issuance of work permits to illegal aliens who have been ordered deported from the United States by a federal immigration judge. (Read more)

8. ‘It’s Pathetic’: NYC Veterans Furious At De Blasio For Blocking Memorial Day Parade After Permitting Cannabis Parade – Daily Wire
A group of New York City veterans are furious at Democratic New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio for blocking a permit for Staten Island’s 102nd annual Memorial Day parade, despite allowing demonstrators to march in the Cannabis Parade on May 1.
“It’s a slap in the face,” Jamie Gonzalez, 57, a Marine infantryman who saw combat during Operation Desert Storm, told the New York Post.
“For many of us, a parade is a form of closure,” he added. “We gather together and support each other.”
Gulf War veterans such as Gonzalez were slated to receive special recognition during this year’s parade to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the conflict, but the city denied a permit to the United Staten Island Veterans Organization, which is comprised of 16 local veterans groups that have sponsored the annual march for decades. The New York Police Department informed the organizers of the parade that the march had to be restricted under de Blasio’s emergency executive order on public events.
“I’m incensed,” Ted Cohen, 82, an Air Force reservist during the Cuban Missile Crisis, told the New York Post. “It’s pathetic.”
In addition to the May 1 march for marijuana, other outdoor marches and events have taken place in New York City since the pandemic began, such as a St. Patrick’s Day parade and the Black Lives Matter protests, both of which de Blasio joined. (Read more)

9. Washington Governor Signs Bill Mandating Critical Race Training in Public Schools – The Epoch Times
Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has signed into law a bill that incorporates the doctrine of “equity, cultural competency, and dismantling institutional racism” into the training for all K–12 educators across the state.
Under Senate Bill 5044 (pdf)—which passed the state legislature in April—school districts in Washington must use one of three professional learning days to specifically train all staff in the topics of “cultural competency, diversity, equity, or inclusion.”
Those topics were among several listed in the bill’s text: “The legislature plans to continue the important work of dismantling institutional racism in public schools and recognizes the importance of increasing equity, diversity, inclusion, antiracism, and cultural competency training throughout the entire public school system by providing training programs for classified staff, certificated instructional staff, certificated administrative staff, superintendents, and school directors that will be provided in an ongoing manner.”
Proponents of the bill, according to a state Senate report said it would help educators better support those who are “immigrants and students of color” and that it would make students “feel safe, heard, and understood.” But opponents have called it a “divisive” and “dangerous” bill based on critical race theory (CRT), through which students would be taught to “judge others based on the color of their skin.” (Read more)

10. Senate Democrats press ahead with election reform bill described as 'power grab' by GOP - Fox
Senate Democrats are plowing forward with their sweeping election reform bill they argue is necessary to safeguard voting rights that are "under attack," but Republicans have pledged to fight the legislation they've dubbed a Democratic "power grab" to federalize local elections.
The clashing views will come to a head Tuesday morning when the Senate Rules Committee Tuesday will hold a hearing to advance the election overhaul legislation that's numbered S.1 to signify it's the Democratic majority's top priority in the Senate.
If the last hearing on the S.1 was any indication, tensions will be high as Democrats try to pass the bill out of committee and send it to a showdown vote on the Senate floor. During the March 24 hearing on the bill, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., launched heated broadsides against each other. (Read more)

Emergency declaration issued in 17 states and D.C. over fuel pipeline cyberattack
|

The Biden administration said it's "working with" fuel pipeline operator Colonial Pipeline to try and restart operations after a ransomware attack took it offline.
Why it matters: Friday night's cyberattack is "the most significant, successful attack on energy infrastructure" known to have occurred in the U.S., notes energy researcher Amy Myers Jaffe, per Politico.
- The Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration issued a regional emergency declaration for 17 states and Washington, D.C., to keep fuel supply lines open.
The big picture: Colonial Pipeline carries 45% of fuel supplies in the eastern U.S. Some 5,500 miles of pipeline has been shut down in response to the attack.
- While gasoline and diesel prices aren't expected to be impacted if pipeline operations resume in the next few days, fuel suppliers are becoming "increasingly nervous" about possible shortages, Bloomberg notes.
What's happening: The emergency declaration covers: Alabama, Arkansas, D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
- The DoT agency said in a statement the declaration "addresses the emergency conditions creating a need for immediate transportation of gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other refined petroleum products and provides necessary relief."
- Colonial said in a statement Sunday while its main fuel lines remained offline, some smaller lines between terminals and delivery points were now operational.

Backlash was swift after then-acting US Attorney spoke on '60 Minutes' about Capitol riot probe- Stripes
In September 2019, Michael Sherwin won a widely publicized criminal case against a Chinese woman accused of trespassing at President Trump's Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach. Soon after, the seasoned South Florida prosecutor would get a call from the Justice Department about a temporary assignment advising U.S. Attorney General William Barr on national security matters related to China and other foreign countries.
For Sherwin, who had served in the Middle East as a naval intelligence officer during the 9/11 era, it was an offer he could not refuse. It was also a first-time assignment in the nation's capital that would dramatically raise his profile. As he briefed Barr, Sherwin deployed his military-like, matter-of-fact style of speaking.
Impressed, Barr eventually appointed Sherwin — a career prosecutor from Miami who was raised in Ohio — as the acting U.S. Attorney in the District of Columbia. In that hot seat, he wound up running the investigation of the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot. His stint in President Donald Trump's administration, fraught with media and political accusations that he was a "Barr guy," climaxed with his TV interview on "60 Minutes" about one of the biggest criminal cases in American history.
But just hours after the interview aired, Sherwin's star turn in Washington would come to a crashing finale as the Justice Department under the new Biden administration opened an internal probe of him for his appearance on the CBS News show and his comments about the massive investigation. Sherwin, who did not get permission to do the "60 Minutes" interview, had already given notice to leave the Justice Department days before it was broadcast on March 21.
He returned to Miami, resigned as a federal prosecutor from the U.S. Attorney's Office in South Florida, and joined a major law firm, Kobre & Kim, in early April.
While Sherwin said he could not talk about the Justice Department's investigation of him, he told the Miami Herald in a recent interview that his whirlwind tour of duty in the nation's capital took a heavy toll on his life. (Read more)

Biden's Pentagon yanks Rolling to Remember's gathering permit

The Pentagon denied a permit for the Rolling to Remember (used to be Rolling Thunder) event on May 30, which has been held for 32 years in Washington DC. Originally, they had applied for a permit to park in the Pentagon parking area – which will be completely empty that weekend. Since the AmVets event was denied, they tried the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, but the city never got back to them. So now, the DC Metro police will shut down the streets around the National Mall for about 15 hours- from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 30. They are going ahead with the event in spite of the disrespect of the Biden Administration by driving the bikers into a smaller space. They did have permits for all the other parts of the event.
It will cost the veterans nearly double than what it would have if the Pentagon had allowed them the better location. They are expecting around 100,000 bikers and event watchers.

They will be staged on the streets, and will adhere to guidelines about the pandemic, including being 6 feet apart and wearing masks. The event is to bring awareness to those who have given their lives in the service of our country, including troops who may still be missing, and those who have committed suicide. Mercury's Tail to be Visible This Week
|

The biggest comet in the Solar System is actually a planet. It's Mercury. Researchers have known for years that Mercury has an enormous tail. Last week, Andrea Alessandrini photographed it from the balcony of his house in Veroli, Italy:
First predicted in the 1980s, Mercury's tail was discovered in 2001. Its source is Mercury's super-thin atmosphere. Mercury is so close to the sun, pressure from sunlight itself can push atoms out of the atmosphere and into space. The escaping gas forms a tail more than 24 million km long.
For reasons having to do with the Doppler shift of sodium absorption lines in the solar spectrum, Mercury's tail is brightest when the planet is ±16 days from perihelion (closest approach to the sun).
That special date is this week: On May 13th, Mercury will be 16 days past perihelion and the tail could be as much as 10 times brighter than Alessandrini saw last week.
