HISTORIC RECONCILIATION FOR AMERICANS
|

Dozens of Christian leaders . . . gathered on the morning of the National Day of Prayer at the Congressional Cemetery to offer and receive forgiveness for the atrocities committed against Native Americans. Former Ambassador, Governor, Senator Sam Brownback read the proclamation that President Barack Obama signed into law in 2009. Receiving the apology was Dr. Niegel Bigpond, a full-blood member of the Euchee (Yuchi) Indian Tribe, and Mary Faus, representing the Ojibway and Cree tribes.
Standing under a Native American healing pole representing a house of all the people of the world, National Day of Prayer President Kathy Branzell emphasized the critical importance of speaking the official apology that was signed by President Obama. “An apology needs to be said,” she explained before Ambassador Brownback read it aloud. “When Christians pray the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14, asking God to heal the land, this act of corporate repentance for the blood shed on the land is a necessary first step.” At the same time, similar events took place in 36 states. The breadth of this across the nation has never happened before.
The Congressional Cemetery houses the final resting place of 36 Native American leaders who came to Washington to make treaties. Many died of “white man’s diseases,” some may have been killed, and some found that the treaties were empty promises from the U.S. government.
Bigpond recognized that it is hard for some Native Americans today, who have also suffered from promises made and not fulfilled by the U.S. government. However, he spoke words of hope that this is a time of rebuilding and replanting and that the powerful exchange this morning would have a lasting impact.
“The spilling of innocent blood defiles the land,” stated Brownback before reading the proclamation. “This doesn’t heal the land–it lances the boil so healing can begin.” Bigpond hopes that all his people would receive the apology and would see the significance of it, that healing could be released in the nation.
Faus read aloud a forgiveness prayer that was first publicly prayed on the National Mall in October 2016. “We forgive every atrocity and broken covenant ever designed to destroy us as a race of people. We break every curse, and renounce every lie, purposed to decimate us as human beings. . . . We stand in the gap for those who are unable or unwilling to forgive, and call upon the Master of Life, to forgive us for harboring unforgiveness, resentment, hatred, bitterness and rage. We repent of every curse spoken over America by our ancestors and we release the power of forgiveness to bring healing and the peace of Creator God to this land.” (Intercessors for America) Read more.

1. Ramadan Violence Raging All Over Israel but Focused on Jerusalem - Israel 365 News
This year, like most years, the month-long Muslim fast of Ramadan has been marked by extreme violence, most notably, though not limited to, Israel’s capital of Jerusalem.
Dubbed the TikTok Intifada, the violence began last month when young Arabs began attacking Israelis, especially targeting the visibly religious, and posting videos of the attacks on the popular app.
Western media has also blamed the violence on a right-wing Israel protest on April 22 that the police shut down before it arrived in the Old City, where the Arabs were already rioting.
The violence spread amidst inaccurate Arab claims that the Israeli government was restricting Muslim access to the Temple Mount when, in fact, Israeli police were enacting measures to manage foot traffic by placing barricades in front of the square leading to the Damascus Gate, a procedure that has been practiced for over a decade. The police responded by removing the barricades, leading to increased violence. (Read more)

2. Netanyahu: Israel Will Not Allow Extremists to Disrupt Calm in Jerusalem - Algemeiner
i24 News – Following days of violent clashes in Jerusalem between Israeli security forces and Palestinian rioters, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Sunday that those disturbing the peace in the holy city will face severe consequences.
“We will not allow extremists to disrupt the peace and order that exists in Jerusalem,” Netanyahu said while delivering televised remarks during a special cabinet meeting in Jerusalem.
“We will continue to protect the freedom of worship but will not allow violent rioting,” he said.
The comments come amid escalating tensions in the Old City over access to the Temple Mount during the Ramadan holiday and a pending eviction decision regarding four Palestinian families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem. (Read more)

3. Israel Might Cancel Jerusalem Day Flag Dance March Over Arab Violence; Hebrew University Attacked - Jewish Press
Jerusalem Police are mulling the merits of changing the route of the traditional Flag Dance March that is set for Monday afternoon, and which takes place every Jerusalem Day / Yom Yerushalayim.
The move could come due to concerns over the continuing Arab violence in the city.
Hundreds of Arab rioters hurled stones at Jerusalem Police officers stationed at the entrance to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on Mount Scopus. Many of the rioters were Arab residents of Jerusalem’s Issawiya neighborhood.
Three police officers were injured in the violence and numerous cars were damaged. Three attackers were arrested. (Read more)

4. Gaza terrorists fire rockets at Ashkelon - Israel National News
Terrorists operating out of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip launched multiple missiles at southern Israel Sunday evening. The rockets were fired towards the coastal city of Ashkelon, as well as towns in the western Negev, in the Gaza frontier.
Israel's Iron Dome missile defense network was activated during the attacks.
Witnesses in Ashkelon reported hearing explosions. Some witnesses also said that several rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome system. There have been no reports of injuries or damage. (Read more)

5. ‘Change bloc’ seeking to swear in new government as early as Tuesday - Times of Israel
Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid and Yamina chair Naftali Bennett are trying to expedite coalition negotiations in order to swear in a new government as early as Tuesday this week, sources in the “change bloc” told The Times of Israel on Sunday.
According to the sources, the haste comes over concerns with respect to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s efforts to convince Yamina members to oppose the government, following the announcement last week of MK Amichai Chikli that he will vote against it.
Netanyahu and his Likud party are pressing Yamina as a whole, as well as individual MKs, to not join with Lapid in forming a government, with efforts focused on getting other lawmakers from Bennett’s right-wing party to adopt Chikli’s position.
In order to bypass Netanyahu’s efforts, Lapid and Bennett are working to finalize coalition agreements between the parties in the next two days, the sources said. (Read more)

1. Biden Administration Requests Ethics Rules Be Ignored for Union Bosses Appointed to Top Administration Positions - Breitbart
The Biden administration has been requesting that union bosses, after being appointed to top administration positions, be excluded from ethics rules that bar them from being lobbied by their former union.
Biden has relied heavily on labor union personnel to fill vacancies within his administration, which in turn helps drive policy in their favor, according to the report. Biden gave the unions a huge voice within the federal bureaucracy “at the cost of strictly adhering to his own stringent ethics standards,” the report showed.
Last week, the report showed, the White House waived some of those rules last week for Celeste Drake, who was tapped by Biden to lead the new Made in America Office. The report shows, “Drake was excused from ethics restrictions that would’ve barred her from communicating with her former employers, the AFL-CIO and Directors Guild of America.”

2. Norwegian Cruise Line Threatens to Avoid Florida over Vaccine Passport Ban - Breitbart
Florida’s law banning businesses from inquiring if workers or customers have received the coronavirus vaccine may pose a challenge for its cruise industry.
On Thursday, the CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. said it may cause the company to suspend its Florida departures and move ships to other ports, WYFF reported.
“At the end of the day, cruise ships have motors, propellers and rudders, and God forbid we can’t operate in the state of Florida for whatever reason, then there are other states that we do operate from, and we can operate from the Caribbean for a ship that otherwise would have gone to Florida,” Frank Del Rio commented during a quarterly earnings call.
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed the legislation Monday banning the use of vaccine passports in the state.
“In Florida, your personal choice regarding vaccinations will be protected and no business or government entity will be able to deny you services based on your decision,” the governor said.
Dr. Jay Wolfson, who is a USF Health professor and lawyer, told Fox 13 cruise companies cannot afford to lose additional money and may view Florida’s ban as a risk they do not want to take. (Read more)

3. Japan Extends ‘State of Emergency’ in Tokyo Weeks Before Olympics - Breitbart
The Japanese government on Friday extended a coronavirus “state of emergency” order for Tokyo and other Japanese regions until May 31, just 53 days before the Tokyo Summer Olympics are set to begin.
Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide ordered the extension of Tokyo’s state of emergency, in place since April 25, to curb a new wave of Chinese coronavirus infections in the national capital ahead of the Summer Olympics, which are scheduled to take place in Tokyo starting July 23.
“We need to maintain a strong sense of vigilance and take further steps [to curb infections],” Suga told reporters at a press conference on May 7 after finalizing the state of emergency extension, according to Kyodo News.
The extended state of emergency order applies to Tokyo — Japan’s most populous prefecture and home to over 37 million people — the greater Osaka area, and the prefectures of Aichi and Fukuoka. The order prohibits restaurants and bars from serving alcohol or offering karaoke services and requires them to close by 8:00 p.m. (Read more)

4. Report: Liz Cheney ‘Orchestrated Unprecedented’ GOP Sabotage with WaPo on January 3 - Breitbart
Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) reportedly “orchestrated unprecedented” Republican sabotage with the Washington Post against former President Donald Trump on January 3.
The New Yorker published an essay Thursday in which Eric Edelman — a “friend” of Cheney’s and a former national security adviser to former Vice President Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney’s father — said Liz Cheney “was the one who generated” a hit piece on Trump in the Post, written by “ten living former Defense Secretaries, including her father.”
“Edelman revealed that Cheney herself secretly orchestrated an unprecedented op-ed in the Washington Post by all ten living former Defense Secretaries, including her father, warning against Trump’s efforts to politicize the military,” The New Yorker wrote.
“The congresswoman not only recruited her father but personally asked others, including Trump’s first Defense Secretary, Jim Mattis, to participate,” the magazine continued.
Edelman is quoted as explaining, “She was the one who generated it, because she was so worried about what Trump might do. It speaks to the degree that she was concerned about the threat to our democracy that Trump represented.”
But the story gets more interesting. Cheney also wrote a memo with her husband and “circulated it on January 3 to the entire House Republican Conference.” The memo apparently stated Trump’s claims of election irregularities “set an exceptionally dangerous precedent” (Read more)

6. Over two dozen killed in Afghanistan after bomb explodes near school - The Hill
More than two dozen people were killed in Afghanistan after a bomb exploded near a school in the capital city of Kabul.
Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian confirmed that 25 people were killed and 52 others were wounded in the bombing at Syed Al-Shahda school, which is located in a Shiite majority in west Kabul.
No group has immediately taken responsibility for the attack or explained why the school was targeted, but Shiite Muslims, who represent a minority in Afghanistan, are frequently targeted with violence in the country.
The bombing comes as all of Afghanistan is on high alert as U.S. forces depart the country in a process that will be completed by mid-September.

7. Texas Republicans Advance Plan To Penalize Cities That Defund Police - The Hill
The Texas state House of Representatives approved a bill to financially penalize large Texan cities that defund police in a preliminary vote Thursday.
The state House advanced H.B. 1900, which would penalize cities that defund police if they have a population of over 250,000 people by allocating the city’s sales tax money to the Texas Department of Public Safety and be banned from increasing property tax rates, in a vote of 91-55, the Houston Chronicle reported.
Republican state Rep. Craig Goldman, the author of the bill, said the legislation will prevent cities in the state of Texas from defunding their police departments. (Read more)

8. Cyberattack Forces a Shutdown of a Top U.S. Pipeline - The New York Times
A cyberattack forced the shutdown of one of the largest pipelines in the United States, in what appeared to be a significant attempt to disrupt vulnerable energy infrastructure. The pipeline carries refined gasoline and jet fuel up the East Coast from Texas to New York.
The operator of the system, Colonial Pipeline, said in a statement late Friday that it had shut down its 5,500 miles of pipeline, which it says carries 45 percent of the East Coast’s fuel supplies, in an effort to contain the breach on its computer networks. Earlier Friday, there were disruptions along the pipeline, but it was unclear whether that was a direct result of the attack, or the company’s moves to proactively halt it.
Colonial Pipeline has not indicated whether its systems were hit by ransomware, in which hackers hold a victim’s data hostage until it pays a ransom, or whether it was another form of cyberattack. But the shutdown of such a vital pipeline, one that has been serving the East Coast since the early 1960s, highlights the huge vulnerability of aging infrastructure that has been connected, directly or indirectly, to the internet. 9. Teachers Union Head Defends Indoctrinating Children with Critical Race Theory - Brietbart
President of the American Federation of Teachers Teacher Union Randi Weingarten defended indoctrinating children with Critical Race Theory on Thursday.
Featured on the Black News Channel with anchor Charles Blow, Weingarten said, “All of the sudden, you’re hearing people talk about Critical Race Theory; people who have no idea what that term means.”
Weingarten’s defense comes after Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “led 38 other Republican senators in a letter Thursday to U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, calling upon him to withdraw the New York Times’ ‘1619 Project’ from taxpayer-funded grant programs,” Breitbart News reported May 1.
The Idaho House and Senate on April 28 approved legislation to block schools from compelling K-12 and higher education students to “affirm or adopt the tenets” of Critical Race Theory. (Read more)

Hunter Biden’s emails reveal his close relationship with the Chinese-American secretary who worked for him when he went into business with the man he called the 'spy chief of China.'
The mysterious young assistant wrote the president's son flirty messages, sent him opposition research for Joe's White House run and encouraged him to draw funds from the company's accounts when the joint venture collapsed and even ended up with Hunter's military dog tags.
In 2017 Hunter went into business with Patrick Ho, secretary general of Chinese oil giant CEFC. Hunter described Ho in a call recording on his abandoned laptop as the 'spy chief of China', and the Chinese businessman was later surveilled by US law enforcement as a foreign intelligence threat before he was convicted of bribery in 2018.
But mysteriously, the young assistant also sent him opposition research to help Joe Biden's 2020 election bid, urged him to take cash from the joint venture's accounts as the business collapsed and wrote flirty and personal messages and even ended up with Hunter's military dog tags in her New York apartment – the same tags he can be seen wearing in home-made porn videos he recorded on his laptop.(Read more)

NASA criticizes China's handling of rocket re-entry as debris lands near Maldives
|
|
|
NASA has lambasted China for its failure to "meet responsible standards" after debris from its out-of-control rocket likely plunged into the Indian Ocean Saturday night.
"Spacefaring nations must minimize the risks to people and property on Earth of re-entries of space objects and maximize transparency regarding those operations," said NASA Administrator Sen. Bill Nelson in a statement released on the space agency's website Sunday. "China is failing to meet responsible standards regarding their space debris," he added.
Most of the huge Long March 5B rocket, however, burned up on reentering the atmosphere, the China Manned Space Engineering Office said in a post on WeChat, before landing just west of the Maldives. It was unclear if any debris had landed on the atoll nation.
The US Space Command said the Long March 5B had reentered Earth over the Arabian Peninsula.
The rocket, which is about 108 feet tall and weighs nearly 40,000 pounds, had launched a piece of a new Chinese space station into orbit on April 29. After its fuel was spent, the rocket had been left to hurtle through space uncontrolled until Earth's gravity dragged it back to the ground. (CNN) Read more.

NYC Pastor Helps Rebuild Nigerian Church Burned by Muslim Militants

Five years after Fulani Muslim militants attacked a Nigerian village, killing hundreds of residents and burning down the local Methodist church, an
American pastor and an attorney stepped in to help the community rebuild the church building so the community could worship together in time for Easter Sunday.
The Christian Post (CP) reports New York City Pastor William "P.B." Devlin, CEO of the nongovernmental organization REDEEM!, and Emmanuel
Ogebe, an international human rights lawyer from the U.S.-based Nigeria Law Group, worked together to help the Agatu community located in the Benue state of the West African country.
The pair helped with the fundraising in order to rebuild the fire-gutted Agatu Methodist Church building.
"Healing and hope: those are two great words that we've seen in a very practical way," Devlin, the missions pastor at Infinity Bible Church in the
Bronx, told the CP.

Monday, Day 28 - The Power and Joy of Worship
Many young Iranian Muslims go to schools in Europe for their education and, while there, learn about Jesus and receive Him as Lord. When they attend a church where their language, Farsi, is spoken, the worship begins. For the first time in their lives, they see the words of the songs of love for Jesus, and they begin to sing praises to Him. Imagine! They have never experienced anything like that before. It is incredible to see the expression of joy on their faces as they corporately worship their Savior, the One who has given them the true way of peace!
Prayer
Our God is worthy of praise, and multitudes of Muslims will desire to praise Jesus if they have an understanding of His love for them. Pray they will receive a divine revelation of that love and respond with their whole hearts. (Read more)

Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].
Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God."
