Arkansas governor signs near-total abortion ban into law
Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson on Tuesday signed into law legislation banning nearly all abortions in the state, a sweeping measure that supporters hope will force the U.S. Supreme Court to revisit its landmark Roe v. Wade decision but opponents vow to block before it takes effect later this year.
The Republican governor had expressed reservations about the bill, which only allows the procedure to save the life of the mother and does not provide exceptions for those impregnated by rape or incest. Arkansas is one of at least 14 states where legislators have proposed near outright abortion bans this year.
Hutchinson said he was signing the bill because of its "overwhelming legislative support and my sincere and long-held pro-life convictions."
The bans were pushed by Republicans who want to force the U.S. Supreme Court to revisit its 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationwide. Conservatives believe the court is more open to striking down the decision following former President Donald Trump's three appointments to the court.
"(The ban) is in contradiction of binding precedents of the U.S. Supreme Court, but it is the intent of the legislation to set the stage for the Supreme Court overturning current case law," he said in a statement released by his office. "I would have preferred the legislation to include the exceptions for rape and incest, which has been my consistent view, and such exceptions would increase the chances for a review by the U.S. Supreme Court." The ACLU has already said they will sue, so this case is NOW on the way to the trial court, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis, and then to the SUPREME COURT.
- Father God, we thank You for this action taken by Governor Asa Hutchinson in the State of Arkansas. As this case now goes to trial in the 8th District Court of Appeals in St. Louis, we ask that it be approved there, too. And finally, if and when this case goes to the United States Supreme Court, we pledge, Holy One, to continue to hover over this decision, praying much in the Spirit for the outcome. In Your Name we pray, amen and amen.

Focus on Israel
1. Netanyahu to fly to UAE Thursday for 1st official trip, 12 days before elections - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday for a first official visit to the Gulf nation since the establishment of formal diplomatic relations, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Netanyahu will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, media reports said.
Netanyahu has been seen as eager to make the trip before the March 23 elections in order to tout his diplomatic achievements and boost his campaign.
Emirati officials told the Walla news site that there had been concerns the visit would be seen as an intervention in the Israeli elections, but in the end Abu Dhabi agreed to the trip.

2. Israel and US to convene 1st strategic group meeting on Iran - Times of Israel
Israeli and Biden administration officials on Thursday will hold the first session of a bilateral strategic group aimed at collaborating in the effort to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, an official familiar with the matter told The Times of Israel.
A similar working group convened during former US president Barack Obama’s first term in office. Its existence was not public, and the sides used the meetings to share intelligence on Iran. However, the group ceased meeting as the Obama administration ramped up efforts to reach an agreement with Iran to curb its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fiercely and publicly opposed that deal — which was signed in 2015, when Biden was vice president — contributing to a famously acrimonious relationship between Netanyahu and Obama.

3. Erdogan Confidant Calls For 'Re-Normalized' Ties with Israel - Israel Hayom
A close associated of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Admiral Cihat Yayci, said in an interview Wednesday to the Turkish Jewish newspaper Şalom that "it is in the interests of both Turkey and Israel to re-normalize relations."
Yayci called on Israel to take up the proposal of a shared maritime border, first reported by Israel Hayom on March 5. A more detailed version of the plan was published in the Turkeyscope monthly journal published by the Moshe Dayan Center at Tel Aviv University.
Yayci gave the interview after Turkey suffered another diplomatic blow when Egypt and Greece agreed this week to disagree about proposed areas for gas and oil drilling in the Mediterranean Sea.
This occurred five days after Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Turkey could reach an agreement with Egypt on a maritime border. (Read more)
4. PA official: We Received Advance Notice of ICC Investigation - Israel National News
PA "Minister of Foreign Affairs" Riyad Al-Malki revealed that the PA and ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda have been in constant contact and that Bensouda even gave the PA advance notice of her decision to formally open an investigation into alleged war crimes arising from "the situation in Palestine," but asked that the PA ”keep it secret,” Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) reported.
In an interview with official PA TV on Saturday cited by PMW, Al-Malki explained, "We are in constant contact with her... and her office from the first moment when we set foot in the ICC in 2014. [We’re in touch] directly or indirectly, through the visits we are making, through the contact via our delegation at The Hague, or through the periodical reports we are submitting to the general prosecutor’s office."
"We made contact before the announcement [of the ICC investigation], and we were informed a number of hours before the announcement that there will be an announcement. We knew about this, but they asked us to keep it secret... We are currently seriously considering visiting The Hague and meeting with the general prosecutor to discuss the following steps.
What can be expected from her? ... What is required of us? What do they expect from the government of the State of Palestine in this matter, and when can we expect the arrival of the ICC’s first delegations for preparations ahead of beginning the investigation?" (Read more)
5. Illegal Church-Built Tunnel on Mount Zion Concealed by the City - Jerusalem Post
Following the concealment of an illegal tunnel built by a Catholic Church on Mount Zion, the Regavim movement filed a petition with the Jerusalem District Court on Monday, demanding that the city take responsibility for its negligence.
Regavim is dedicated to preserving Israel's national lands and resources. When it discovered the possible existence of this underground tunnel, the organization petitioned that the Jerusalem Municipality investigate it.
The tunnel, extending from the Abbey of the Dormition just outside of the Old City, threatens to impede on public grounds of the national park "around the walls of Jerusalem." There are many archaeological ruins buried beneath the area from the era of King David, the Hasmonean dynasty and the First Temple; a tunnel could potentially damage or destroy them. (Read more)

1. House approves $1.9T COVID-19 relief in partisan vote - The Hill
The House on Wednesday approved President Biden’s sweeping $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package in a starkly partisan 220-211 vote, sending the legislation to the White House and clinching Democrats' first big legislative victory in the Biden era.
No Republican lawmakers backed the legislation, which will become law as much of the nation marks one year of lockdowns from the COVID-19 era. Just one Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden (Maine), opposed the measure.
Biden has said he will sign the measure as soon as it reaches his desk, with the White House saying he's expected to sign it on Friday. The president is set to address the nation Thursday evening on the coronavirus pandemic. (Read more)

2. $1,400 stimulus checks could be intercepted, consumer advocates warn - Washington Times
The $1,400 check will soon be in the mail, but it might not end up in your pocket.
Consumer advocacy groups are raising concerns that unlike the most recent round of coronavirus relief, courts or banks can swoop in and use the direct payments in President Biden’s $1.9 trillion package to settle recipients’ outstanding debts.
The warning came as House Democrats prepared to pass the package on Wednesday, handing a major early legislative victory to Mr. Biden over Republican complaints that the bill is too expensive and isn’t properly targeted.
In the $900 billion relief bill that was signed into law by former President Trump in December, Congress included specific language protecting the direct payments of up to $600 from garnishment. (Read more)

3. Senate confirms Merrick Garland as Biden attorney general in bipartisan vote - Fox News
Judge Merrick Garland will be the next U.S. attorney general after the Senate confirmed him with a vote of 70 to 30. Garland received bipartisan support during his confirmation process from both Democrats and Republicans.
"Judge Garland's unshakeable commitment to serving his country is deeply rooted in who he is," Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., said after the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to recommend Garland's nomination. "He fundamentally grasps that America's greatness rests in our bedrock principles of justice and the rule of law."
Republicans also expressed their support at the time, although some pointed to concerns they have about Garland. Cornyn specifically pointed to Garland's failure to commit to allowing John Durham's investigation of the origins of the Russia probe to continue. (Read more)

4. Twenty-eight states changed voting rules to boost mail-in ballots - Washington Examiner
A new report on the vast expansion of mail-in ballots in the 2020 election is set to spark new concerns among some Republicans who back former President Donald Trump’s charge that some states went too far to change the rules — illegally.
The group Nonprofit Vote said today that 28 states changed voting rules enabling more people to vote by mail than in person.
Among the three “key takeaways” cited was this: “28 States changed their policy to make it easier to use a mail ballot.”
As a result, it added, “For the first time ever, more people voted early with a mail ballot or in-person than filled out a ballot at the polls on Election Day.”
Trump associates have hit some states for making changes without legislative approval. However, in many cases, the Trump team had lost in court. Many states did follow the proper process to change the rules. (Read more)

6. Arizona and Montana Take Legal Action Against Biden Admin ICE Arrest Regulations - Epoch Times
Arizona and Montana are taking legal action (pdf) to block new Biden administration immigration regulations, saying that these would cause negative consequences for the states.
The new rules would limit the capability of ICE to detain some illegal immigrants unless they pose a threat to national security, entered through the border after Nov. 1, or committed aggravated felonies.
The Biden administration says that the rules don’t impair arresting or deporting people, but the officers in the field would need to request permission from their superiors to arrest people outside of the aforementioned cases.
“If asked about the poorest policy choice I’ve ever seen in government, this would be a strong contender,” Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said in a statement. (Read more)
- Father God we pray over these lawsuits in Arizona and Montana. Lord God, we ask that You intervene in these cases so that the new immigration rules being proposed by the Biden administration be rendered null and void in the court of law. We pray for the judges and their staff, that those individuals would rule and reign with righteousness and justice and the rule of law. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

7. Trump blasts Biden’s handling of border crisis: ‘Our country is being destroyed’ - Fox News
Former President Donald Trump blasted President Biden’s handling of the border crisis, saying the country is being “destroyed” by the recent surge of illegal migrants at the border.
In a statement released Tuesday, Trump pointed to his border policy wins as president, saying that the US-Mexico border under his watch was "in great shape" and was "stronger, safer and more secure than ever before." He also said that the border wall "would have easily" been completed if not for Democrats stalling the project.
"We ended Catch-and-Release, shut down asylum fraud and crippled the vicious smugglers, drug dealers and human traffickers," wrote the former president. "The Wall, despite horrendous Democratic delays, would have easily been finished by now, and is working magnificently.” (Read more)
- Father God we seek your face regarding this situation. We ask that you would give each state being affected by this border crisis downloads from heaven and strategies on how to combat this at the state level instead of looking to help from the federal level. Supernaturally intervene for us in the name of Jesus amen.

8. Investigation: Soros-Funded District Attorneys Help Criminal Illegal Aliens Escape Deportation - Brietbart
The Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) sheds light on new avenues by which district attorneys use their offices to aid criminally charged illegal aliens — specifically getting them off the hook from being arrested by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and deported.
Krasner, the investigation found, raked in nearly $1.7 million from a Soros-linked group, the Philadelphia Justice and Public Safety PAC. After being elected in 2017, Krasner created the Immigration Counsel in his District Attorney’s office, hiring former immigration attorney Caleb Arnold to lead the initiative. The goal of the initiative is to reduce “immigration consequences” for defendants.
As a result, the IRLI investigation notes, Arnold consulted on about 300 cases where the defendant was a foreign national. In about 120 of those cases, the outcomes were changed to plea agreements.
Many of the defendants Arnold consulted with to help them avoid deportation had been charged with murder, rape, forcible rape, rape of a child, sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, attempted murder, drunk driving, robbery, and other crimes. (Read more)
- Father God we recognize that a lot of injustices that are happening in the cities start from the local levels. So we pray that you would raise up new godly leadership at the local and state levels for justice and righteousness that we can start winning some of these small battles and ultimately win the bigger battles. Amen.

9. Pentagon approves extending Guard deployment at Capitol - AP News
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has formally approved an extension of the National Guard deployment at the U.S. Capitol for about two more months as possible threats of violence remain, the Pentagon said Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the department, close to 2,300 Guard troops will continue to provide security in Washington until May 23, at the request of the Capitol Police. Officials have been scrambling in recent days to determine if and how to fill the request, as the original March 12 deadline for them to leave Washington loomed.
There are currently about 5,100 Guard troops in Washington, and they were scheduled to leave this weekend. It was unclear if any of those forces will have to stay an extra day or two while any new troops arrive and get trained and settled in. The Pentagon said defense officials will work with the Capitol Police to incrementally reduce the number of Guard needed in the city as time goes on. (Read more)

10. Texas Democrat Vicente Gonzalez Closes Bank of China Account After Breitbart News Investigation Exposed It - Brietbart
Gonzalez’s most recent financial disclosure forms list holdings worth more than $100,000 with the Bank of China, a state-owned organ of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Breitbart News reported:
On the second page of his calendar year 2017, 2018, and 2019 disclosure documents, Gonzalez reported the holdings valued at between $100,001 and $250,000 in the Bank of China. Each report includes a disclosure that Gonzalez earned between $2,501 and $5,000 in interest each year from the Bank of China account.
The Bank of China’s website acknowledges itself as a “wholly state-owned commercial bank” and has been since the mid-1990s. The state-run enterprise also pledges allegiance to Chinese head of state Xi Jinping and his communist ideology, describing its mission as furtherance of the CCP’s global political vision.
Gonzalez closed his account following Breitbart News’s report, according to News 4 Antonio, an NBC affiliate. He also rejected an interview request. (Read more)

The Daily Jot
Stupidocrisy: The border and the ditch
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, Wednesday, March 10, 2021
Throughout the last presidential campaign there was a clear line drawn between candidates on the issue of border security, otherwise known as illegal immigration. Democrat Joe Biden wanted open borders, no border wall, and signaled to the world that illegal immigrants would be welcome in the US. President Donald Trump wanted to finish building the wall across the border with Mexico and continue to control illegal immigration. After the election, hoards of immigrants began moving toward the US border and it is reported that hundreds of thousands are crossing illegally as President Biden has done away with Trump’s border security with the stroke of a pen on an Executive Order. Stupidocrisy.
One of Biden’s new policies allow for authorities to detain illegal immigrants if they entered through the border after November 1. So Biden essentially invited illegal immigration before November in his campaign rhetoric, yet his new policies allow for the arrest of those crossing the border illegally after November 1. Too late. Risk of arrest or not, they came in droves anyway. Biden’s inept handling of the border has caused such an invasion of illegal immigrants that border security agents are overwhelmed. Moreover, Biden’s policies are causing negative consequences for the states, such as Texas, Florida, Arizona and Montana, who are taking actions into their own hands. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said that she is taking legal action against the Biden administration because of its “egregious” immigration regulations.
Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said, “Blindly releasing thousands of people, including convicted criminals and those who may be spreading COVID-19 into our state, is both unconscionable and a violation of federal law. This must be stopped now to avoid a dangerous humanitarian crisis for the immigrants and the people of Arizona.” Citing increased drug trafficking as a result of Biden’s policy change, Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen joined Brnovich in a lawsuit against the Biden Administration, filing for a preliminary injunction to block the regulations. Texas Governor Greg Abbott called in the National Guard to work with law enforcement to combat a 79.6% increase in illegal border crossings between October 2020 and January 2021. Abbott says Biden’s policies have created a humanitarian crisis and are endangering the lives of Texans.
The border is so overwhelmed, Biden has resorted to asking volunteers to help. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in an email to employees on March 8, “You have likely seen the news about the overwhelming numbers of migrants seeking access to this country along the Southwest Border…Today, I activated the Volunteer Force to support Customs and Border Protection as they face a surge in migration along the Southwest Border.” Meanwhile, when asked by reporters about the border crisis, Biden said there’s no crisis on the border and “we’ll be able to handle it.” As Jesus said in Matthew 15:14, “They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” “Both,” in this case, is a misguided president and the country he misguides. Say it with me…Stupidocrisy.
Biden Admin Officials had Roles in Probes,
Surveillance of Trump Campaign
As President Joe Biden constructs his new administration, individuals from the Obama administration are quietly resurfacing in positions of power. Some of these people are well-known, others lesser so. But they all played critical roles at various times during the Obama administration.
Susan Rice, Obama’s national security adviser and now the “top adviser to the president on domestic policy and related decisions,” has admitted to participating in the unmasking of members of the Trump transition team. Unmasking is the process in which a U.S. citizen’s identity is revealed from collected surveillance.
Initially, Rice publicly denied the allegations, claiming that “I know nothing about this. I was surprised to see reports from [House Intelligence Committee] Chairman [Devin] Nunes on that count today.” Two weeks later, Rice stated that she hadn’t done so for “for any political purposes.” It was later reported that Rice told House investigators that “she unmasked the identities of senior Trump officials to understand why the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates was in New York.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.
'What Am I Doing Here?'
After No Press Conferences, No State of the Union,
Questions Mount Over Biden's Mental State
Is President Joe Biden hiding? He's the first president in four decades not to have held a formal question and answer session during the first months of his presidency. By this point, Donald Trump and George H.W. Bush had each held five press conferences. Bill Clinton had held four.
After weeks of questions about Biden's lack of public engagement, the White House finally announced on Monday that Biden would give his first primetime speech on Thursday. It will be his first address since taking office.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said the president's speech will mark the one-year anniversary of the COVID-19 shutdowns. She also added the president will hold a formal press conference before the end of the month.
. . . One writer for RedState.com noted in a recent article on Biden's trip to Texas, "This is a man whose mental capacity appears to be rapidly declining before our eyes. You can watch videos of Biden from just five years ago and he's a totally different person." In a video of the president's speech posted to Twitter, Biden can't seem to remember names, and he even asks, "What am I doing here?"
CBN Founder Pat Robertson said Biden "apparently has some senile difficulty, I don't know whether you call it dementia or what, but they won't let him talk, whoever his handlers are don't trust him to go live before a group of reporters, and that is shocking. What are we going to do?"
Robertson implied it could be just a matter of time before an effort will begin to invoke the 25th Amendment to bump the newly elected president from office. (Breaking Christian News) Read more here.
- O Lord! If our nation ever needed protection, that time is now. We fully repent of our many and multitude sins in America, crying out for Your mercy to rest upon us. Please, Father God, hover over Joe Biden, and prevent him from taking any action at this time in his life that would harm himself or others. We ask this in Your name, amen and amen.
- "In wrath, remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2)

Denver could get one of biggest snowstorms since 1885
AccuWeather forecasters on Wednesday continued tracking the potential for a monster snowstorm to pound the Denver area in the coming days and possibly become one of the biggest snowstorms in the Mile High City’s history. The looming storm threatens to be a long-duration event that could result in snowfall totals that could reach 2 feet in Denver and pile as high as 3 feet in places west of Denver, such as Boulder and Fort Collins. Heavy snow will stretch north into Wyoming as well.
The wintry blast could feel all the more shocking because it is following closely behind springlike weather in some places like Denver, where temperatures have been averaging nearly 20 degrees above normal, hovering at or just under 70 degrees each day Sunday through Tuesday.
Snowfall will pick up in intensity across the the central and southern Rockies — and across Colorado and southeastern Wyoming in particular — on Saturday night into Sunday. Snowfall rates will reach 1-3 inches per hour, and as the storm continues, strong winds will blow as well.
Blizzard criteria — three-straight hours of sustained winds or gusts of 40 mph and visibility of a quarter of a mile or less in snow or blowing snow — will be approached in the region, according to Rayno. Gusts could reach as high as 30 mph as the snowstorm first gets underway on Saturday then increase to as high as 40 mph Saturday night and up to 50 mph on Sunday.
Travel impacts from the weather are all but certain. Roadways such as "I-25 and I-80 may get shut down late Saturday into Sunday,” Rayno said. (Accuweather.com) Read more.

Allen West: Brilliance of First Amendment Will Protect Religious Freedom from 'Equality Act'
When I swore an oath as a young man fresh out of college to defend our Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic — as all military service members do — I had only a hint of an idea of the brilliance of our forefathers in crafting this founding document. Today, as we hear about proposed legislation such as the Equality Act, and its potential repercussions on Christian ministries, I am astounded at the wisdom and, dare I say, prophetic insight that birthed the Constitution’s language.
While many Christians fear the repercussions of the proposed Equality Act should it be signed into legislation — and rightfully so — I am thankful that the religious freedom protections put in place by the Constitution give believers in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ a certain measure of defense.
