Communist-style Impeachment performance art

The Daily Jot: Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021

As senate Democrats wind up for their impeachment pitch, the theatre is reminiscent of an old time pro wrestling venue—everybody knew it was fake, contrived, and rigged for an outcome. Everybody, except for the rabid fans who would divorce their entire family and friends if the integrity of the match was called into question. The entire fiasco, sadly, is more akin to communist dictatorship railroading a political opponent or dissenter into prison or an execution just to make a point. In this charade, the democrats are hoping to make legal the political assassination of a former president with the stated goal that Donald Trump would never be able to again run for or hold public office. They are that scared of him.

Now the Democrat Impeachment Managers are threatening that Trump testify at the trial otherwise face “strong adverse inference regarding President Trump’s actions (and inactions) on January 6.” In a response to Trump’s lawyers, the Democratic Party managers also said that everything that has been charged in the Articles of Impeachment are true and that all defenses against these charges are without merit. They say this impeachment is Constitutional—not by citing any Constitutional or judicial precedent, but because they say it is Constitutional. They say that Trump’s First Amendment rights do not apply because he purposely incited insurrection by continuously lying that the election results were rigged and whipping up the January 6 crowd to storm the Capitol. They can say what they want because they have the votes.

Problem for the Democrats is that some of their argument has eroded in the days ahead of the trial. It is reported that the FBI has documented several of the so-called insurgents had pre-planned the action assault on the Capitol, diminishing the claim that Trump incited mob violence. Additionally, there is the question of the election itself. Time Magazine reported about a corporate-labor-leftist “handshake” to “protect” the election. Time’s Molly Ball wrote, “Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws… They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time…After Election Day, they monitored every pressure point to ensure that Trump could not overturn the result.”

My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell also produced a documentary exposing election integrity issues. The Supreme Court also will hear election fraud cases this year. The Epoch Times reports that historian and Hoover Institute Fellow Victor Davis Hanson says the impeachment trial is no less “performance art” very similar to the public shaming methods used by the Chinese Communist Party during their “cultural revolution” in the decade from 1966 to 1976. The Ninth Commandment is found in Exodus 20:16, “Thou shalt not bear false witness against your neighbor.” You’ll see this commandment broken a lot this week.

- Lord God, today we ask that You would grant Your people great discernment during this trial. Help us to not be deceived, but to walk in truth regarding the administration of President Donald John Trump. Lord God, help us, too, to remember to walk in love and forgiveness, that we might triumph over evil. We ask this in Your Name, amen.

- "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)

Focus on Israel

1. Smotrich Supports Forced Vaccinations, Firing Unvaccinated Employees - Jewish Press
Chairman of the Religious Zionism party Bezalel Smotrich on Tuesday morning told Reshet Bet radio that vaccinations can be forced on Israelis who resist them.

“Of course vaccines can be forced, even if not physically,” Smotrich said. “We can condition entry into public places [on vaccinations], for example. The economy would be returned to its normal routine exclusively for the vaccinated. Those who are not vaccinated would not get into school, the supermarket, the mall, the cinema, the theater, the bus.”

He added that an employee of his party who refuses to be vaccinated would be fired.

Needless to say, none of the measures suggested by Smotrich are legal, and in the case of firing an employee on the grounds of refusing vaccination, the fledgling Religious Zionism party would stand a good chance of losing its first case in Labor Court over this one. (Read more)

2. Netanyahu responds to Blinken: Golan will remain part of Israel forever - Times of Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office on Tuesday pushed back after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken cast doubt over Washington’s recognition — under former president Donald Trump — of Israeli sovereignty in the Golan Heights.

Blinken said on Monday that under current conditions he supports Israel controlling the Golan Heights, but appeared to question the legality of the Trump administration’s decision regarding the strategic plateau.

“The Golan is very important to Israel’s security,” Blinken said in an interview with CNN. But “legal questions are something else. And over time, if the situation were to change in Syria, that’s something we’d look at." (Read more)

3.  IDF foils Iranian plot to spark war on Israel-Syria border - Israel National News

The terrorists approached under the cover of darkness. They knew the area well and assumed no one could see them. They inched to a distance just 25 yards from the security fence and placed their explosives. Their objective was clear – kill IDF soldiers and set the sector ablaze. After placing the bombs they retreated back toward Syria, tracked the entire time by IDF spotters, and now under heavy fire from Israeli troops.

The lethal ambush was exposed last November on the Israeli-Syrian border on the Golan Heights. A tranquil area with pastoral vistas, but highly volatile due to the ongoing fight between the IDF and Iran in what has come to be known as the "war between wars."

Three months earlier, in August, an Iranian cell was detected and eliminated by IDF commandos while laying bombs along the fence.

Exclusive documentation obtained by Israel Hayom's Hanan Greenwood sheds light on what happened that night when terrorists attempted to kill IDF troops on routine patrol along the border. For the first time, the IDF has shared how the event unfolded, step by step, along with additional details about who was behind the attempted attack the could have sparked a war had it succeeded. (Read more)

4. Israeli mayor rebels, declares city open, disregarding corona regulations - World Israel News

The mayor of Karmiel, Moshe Koninsky, has had enough and he’s not gonna take it anymore.

Koninsky told residents and business owners of the northern Israeli city on Monday that he’s opening the city for business, whether the government likes it or not. The government likely doesn’t as the decision flies in the face of the nation’s still tight corona restrictions.

While Israel has loosened up a bit, cancelling the stringent no-more-than-one kilometer from home rule and allowing non-“front-facing” businesses to reopen, meaning those that don’t deal directly with the public, Mayor Koninsky has gone further. He says all shops and malls can open – at least those under his immediate jurisdiction.

However, there are caveats even for Koninsky. Only those who’ve had the second dose of the vaccine at least a week ago can participate in the opening. He also said the number of people in shops at one time will stay within government guidelines. (Read more)

5. Court rules in favor of state prosecution, and against Netanyahu - Jerusalem Post

The Jerusalem District Court on Tuesday ruled in favor of the state prosecution and against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on two significant evidentiary issues impacting his public corruption trial, while referring a third issue to the Supreme Court.
In one ruling, Judges Rivkah Friedman-Feldman, Moshe Bar Am and Oded Shaham ruled that Netanyahu’s defense lawyers could not receive an uncensored version of the transcript of an internal prosecution meeting regarding how the police would probe Case 4000, the Bezeq-Walla Affair.

Previously, the court ordered the prosecution to hand over the transcript to the defense, but allowed the state to censor much of the proceedings where the state thought there was no basis to share with the defense.

The key question regarding the transcript is whether Attorney-General Avichai Mandelblit properly personally authorized the police to probe Netanyahu in Case 4000, something required by law since Netanyahu is prime minister. (Read more)

1. BREAKING! Senate votes Trump impeachment trial is constitutional - Fox News

The Senate voted Tuesday to move ahead with the unprecedented impeachment trial of former President Trump after listening to nearly four hours of arguments on whether it is constitutional to try a president who is already out of office.

The vote was 56-44. The six Republicans who joined with the Democrats on voting to continue the trial were Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania. (Read more)

Trump's legal team said the trial is unconstitutional because he's no longer in office and can't face removal, which is the standard judgment of an impeachment conviction.

"President Trump is no longer in office. The object of the Constitution has been achieved. He has been removed by the voters," Bruce Castor, a Trump attorney said. (Read more)

- In the name of Jesus Christ we come against all plots and schemes and plans of the enemy to falsely accuse and destroy an innocent man and his family. We say that these plans will fall flat on their face and will not come to fruition. Amen.

Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I've never done; with every breath they threaten me with violence. (Psalm 27:12)

2. Sheriff Warns Americans Will Not Be Safe Under Bidens Immigration Policies - western Journalism

A Maryland sheriff warned Americans about the dangers of President Joe Biden’s new immigration policies during an interview Monday on Fox News.
“Americans should be angry and outraged,” Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins told “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy. “What he’s done is effectively and functionally dismantled ICE, basically telling the agents to stand down,” Jenkins said.

He was referring to the Biden administration’s new guidelines requiring Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to make fewer arrests and deportations regardless of the immigrant’s criminal background.
“There will be no enforcement,” Jenkins said.

Under these new rules, immigrants will no longer be deported if they get a DUI or commit fraud, tax crimes or assault, Fox News reported. This policy is intended to enable immigrants to submit filings to immigration officials without the fear of deportation. (Read more)

- Lord, we ask you to strengthen and empower citizens to stop the plans of Joe Biden to dismantle Immigrations and Customs Enforcement in court.  We ask You to strengthen and empower the authorities who work to enforce the laws of our nation and may the plans of the current administration be shown to be in the wrong, so they might repent.

- "Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, But a just weight is His delight."  (Proverbs 11:1)

3. Hacker tried to poison water supply in Florida, exposing dangerous vulnerability - Just The News

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said on Monday that someone hacked into the computer system for the Oldsmar, Florida water treatment plant and changed the setting for sodium hydroxide, also known as lye and caustic soda, from about 100 parts per million to 11,100 parts per million.

The hack was observed by someone working at the facility and the setting was swiftly returned to the correct level. The sheriff explained that the system allows for remote access for authorized users. A plant operator noticed that someone remotely accessed the system on Friday morning, but did not perceive this to be an issue because his supervisor and others sometimes remotely accessed his screen, the sheriff said.

But later on Friday an operator observed remote access occurring and it was at that time that the hacker increased the sodium hydroxide setting. The hacker changed the sodium hydroxide from about 100 parts per million to 11,100 parts per million. This is obviously a significant and potentially dangerous increase," Gualtieri said. (Read more)

- Oh Holy One -- we thank you that you alerted someone on duty who paid attention and followed through to stop this potential disaster. Bless that person. May the perpetrator(s) be found and arrested quickly before they can try to cause more harm. We ask for quick system fixes to protect all the infrastructure systems in our nation and our workforce to be alert and wise..

- "For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power."  (1 Corinthians 4:20)

4. Manhattan District Attorney Vance's case against Manafort ends after double jeopardy rule stands - Just The News

A Manhattan district attorney’s effort to prosecute former Trump 2016 campaign chairman Paul Manafort has ended now that New York’s highest court has decided not to review a lower court rulings on the case.

The state's Court of Appeals made a decision last week to let stand a lower-court ruling that Manafort was barred by the double jeopardy rule, reported first Monday by The New York Times.

Manafort had faced state charges for mortgage fraud and other state felonies, crimes similar to those for which he was convicted in federal court, then pardoned for last month by Trump. (Read more)

- Father, we thank you for this ruling.  Enough is enough.  There is ample evidence that these allegations were trumped up for the fake Russia issue and we are done with the deceptive drama of the democrat community.  Jesus -- would You release Your truth into this nation and bring all of the accusations to a stop!  Let Your light shine!

"Put them in fear, O Lord, That the nations may know themselves to be but men.  Selah"  (Psalm 9:20)

5. Texas judge extends suspension of Biden deportation moratorium plan - Fox News

federal judge in Texas extended the suspension of President Biden’s 100-day moratorium on deportation through Feb. 23. U.S. District Court Judge Drew Tipton in the Southern District of Texas extended his suspension of the White House’s deportation moratorium for 14 days, which the judge says will give parties more time to "provide for a more fulsome record" to assist the court in "adjudicating Texas’s motion for a Preliminary Injunction."

The judge also cites "the irreparable harm that would accrue to Texas if an extension" was not granted. The order did state, though, that the Biden administration "argued that the 100-day pause on removals is necessary to allow" them to take account "important immigration, foreign policy, and humanitarian considerations."

"The Court may ultimately be persuaded by the Defendants’ arguments, but any harm they might incur between now and then does not outweigh the potential for irreparable harm to Texas," Tipton wrote.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton last month sued the Biden administration for its move to put a 100 day pause on deportations. (Read more)

- Father, there are well-established legal methods for people to immigrate to this nation. Flooding across the borders in any other country would be met with gunfire and prison. There is no reason for retaining criminals in this country and not deporting them. May the court case be effective and successful for establishing our sovereign nation and borders and may proven criminals be returned to their own lands. In Jesus name.

"When the wicked arise, men hide themselves; But when they perish, the righteous increase."  (Proverbs: 28:28)

6.
Colombia to register thousands of Venezuela migrants in bid to give them legal residency - The Hill
Colombia on Monday announced that it is launching an effort to register hundreds of thousands of undocumented Venezuelan migrants within its borders and provide them with legal residency. Colombian President Ivan Duque said the shift will allow Venezuelans in the country illegally to become eligible for 10-year residence permits. Migrants who already have a temporary residence in Colombia will also be able to extend their permits.

The move could allow some migrants to access resources such as health care, including COVID-19 vaccines, and legal employment more easily in Colombia, The Associated Press noted. It is expected to aid as many as 1 million undocumented Venezuelan citizens in Colombia.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken tweeted Monday commending the policy. “The U.S. stands with Colombia in support of refugees and migrants as we also work to rebuild and expand our humanitarian programs worldwide,” he said. (Read more)

- Dear Lord, thank You for what seems like a good solution to the hardship caused by the wickedness of the socialist regime in Venezuela.  We pray that this will be a blessing to the refugees and that they will enhance Colombia with their talents and skills.  We pray that there will be a revival throughout this region that will overflow into Venezuela to turn it to Biblical principles to restore the country to stability.

"When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice:  but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."  (Proverbs 29:2)

7. Georgia election officials formally launch investigation into Trump phone calls - ABC News
The Georgia Secretary of State's office has formally launched an investigation into former President Donald Trump's phone calls to state election officials in which he sought help to overturn the results of the election after President Joe Biden's narrow victory was certified twice.

The investigation, which follows a series of formal complaints filed by a law professor alleging that Trump violated the law during those calls, marks the first formal investigation into Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the election in the state.

“The Secretary of State’s office investigates complaints it receives,” said Walter Jones, a spokesperson for Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's office. “The investigations are fact-finding and administrative in nature. Any further legal efforts will be left to the Attorney General.” (Read more)

- Precious Lord, we bind up this attack on President Trump as part of the frenzy to denigrate, delegitimize, discourage, and demoralize him and his supporters. We ask You, Lord, to dismantle and disorganize his opposition and that the truth of all of these situations will be revealed. We call down the attempt to call good evil and evil good. Dear Lord, open eyes to see the truth.

- "Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded, and the ears of those who hear will listen." (Isaiah 32:3)

 8. Facebook Will Take Down Posts With Claims About Vaccines It Deems False - Epoch Times

Facebook announced on Feb. 8 that it will take down posts with claims about vaccines that health organizations or its fact-checkers deem false.

“Today, we are expanding our efforts to remove false claims on Facebook and Instagram about COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccines, and vaccines in general during the pandemic,” said a post from the social media giant. “Since December, we’ve removed false claims about COVID-19 vaccines that have been debunked by public health experts.”

“Today, following consultations with leading health organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), we are expanding the list of false claims we will remove to include additional debunked claims about the coronavirus and vaccines,” Facebook stated in a blog post. (Read more)

- Oh, Lord, we do not need censors among us to decide what is true and what is not.  We need the freedom to have actual facts reported and then we can decide.  We ask You to turn this situation around among the Big Tech companies and others to stop trying to shape America into their vision of what it should be and ignore You and Your mission for America.  Dear Lord, come quickly to our aid.  Amen.

"A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape."  (Proverbs 19:5)

9. Obama calls for Americans to get vaccinated in tweet addressing misinformation - The Hill

Former President Obama on Tuesday shared a message on Twitter encouraging Americans to get the coronavirus vaccine while addressing misinformation that has circulated about vaccinations.

"There is a lot of disinformation out there, but here’s the truth: You should get a COVID vaccine as soon as it's available to you. It could save your life—or a loved one’s," Obama wrote, while linking to a New York Times op-ed.

The article outlined the distrust within the Black community concerning the COVID-19 vaccine and shared the opinions of 60 National Academy of Medicine members who all encouraged Black Americans to get vaccinated. Obama, along with former Presidents George W. Bush and Clinton, offered in December to get his coronavirus vaccine publicly to enforce the idea that the inoculation is safe and to encourage other Americans to get the shot. (Read more)

- Lord God, we continue to ask for deliverance from covid-19 and all of its variants; please remove every last trace of it from our planet. May people of all races in our nation hear Your voice and have Your wisdom regarding the different vaccines.

- Your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left. (Isaiah 30:21)

10. Gordon Chang on WHO’s decision to drop Wuhan Lab Investigation: ‘We should not be surprised’ - Sara Carter
A World Health Organization (WHO) team has dropped an investigation into the Wuhan Institute of Virology, an alleged source of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The WHO team held a press conference Tuesday to discuss their findings and explained coronavirus likely spread from an animal to humans outside of Wuhan. WHO food safety and animal diseases expert Dr. Peter Ben Embarek, told reporters that it was “extremely unlikely” that the virus emerged as the result of a lab-related incident.

China expert Gordon Chang said that it’s not surprising that the WHO team came to these conclusions, in a comment to this reporter. “The team seems to be in a rush to make judgments—judgments that support China’s absurd theories—about source,” he continued. “We should not be surprised. Initially, the scientific community attacked the lab-leak theory, and some did so for purely political reasons.” (Read more)

- Lord, You know it all! We see that most public information regarding the Wuhan Virus has been based on agendas of greed, power, politics, intrigue and control. We ask that Your double edge sword cut through all pretense and confusion, and for Truth to be revealed and dealt with as You require. Father, have mercy; and may the U.S. no longer be tied in any way to the World Health Organization.
- For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, (Romans 1:18) - In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. (Revelation 1:16)

“Thank you . . . for you!”

This evening, as we prepare this edition of The Daily Brief, we want to pause for a moment
to simply say THANK YOU to all of you out there . . .

Many years ago, when I was teaching ESL to students from a Middle Eastern country,
every so often they would stop and look at me carefully. Their English was so limited;
they could only find the words that were in their hearts:

"Teacher, thank you for you!"

And tonight, these are my words to you, too!

So many of you have written us these past few weeks, saying THANK YOU for
continuing to bring you the TRUTH in our reports, and in our prayers. Believe me,
your own expressions of gratitude go a long way to keeping us going here at CHPP --
all of us: researchers, writers, prayer editors, even our accountants and our tech
support team!

And so, tonight, on behalf of all of us here at CHPP, I too want to say:

"Friends, thank you for YOU!"

Amen!

After Party.jpg

THE AFTER PARTY
Yesterday, as a G1-class geomagnetic storm was subsiding, we announced "the party is over." Okay. "This must be the afterparty," says Markus Varik of Tromsø, Norway, who witnessed a fabulous outburst hours later:

"I have never seen auroras with such incredible shapes before, even after more than 1000 nights of observing," says Varik. "It rocked our socks off."

The display really did occur after the storm was over. Solar wind speeds had ebbed and auroras were dimming when, suddenly, a tremor swept through Earth's magnetic field. Stuart Green's magnetometer in Preston, UK, captured the event (note the red arrow):

"I wasn't expecting that at all," says Green. "It appears to have been short-lived, almost like an impulse."

Inspecting data from the DSCOVR spacecraft reveals what happened. The interplanetary magnetic field tipped south, opening a shortlived crack in Earth's magnetic field. Solar wind rushed through the "storm door" to spark the afterparty display.

Classic Hymns

O How I Love Jesus

To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE

Words: Frederick Whitfield
Music: 19th Century American Melody

Scripture
We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19

Lyrics:
There is a name I love to hear,
I love to speak its worth;
It sounds like music in mine ear,
The sweetest name on earth.

Refrain

O how I love Jesus,
O how I love Jesus,
O how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!

It tells me of a Savior’s love,
Who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood,
The sinner’s perfect plea.

Refrain

It tells me of a Father’s smile
Beaming upon His child;
It cheers me through this little while,
Through desert, waste, and wild.

Refrain

It tells me what my Father hath
In store for every day,
And though I tread a darksome path,
Yields sunshine all the way.

Refrain

It tells of One whose loving heart
Can feel my deepest woe;
Who in my sorrow bears a part,
That none can bear below.

Refrain

It bids my trembling heart rejoice;
It dries each rising tear;
It tells me, in a still small voice,
To trust and never fear.

Refrain

Jesus, the name I love so well,
The name I love to hear!
No saint on earth its worth can tell,
No heart conceive how dear.

Refrain

This name shall shed its fragrance still
Along this thorny road,
Shall sweetly smooth the rugged hill
That leads me up to God.

Refrain

And there, with all the blood-bought throng,
From sin and sorrow free,
I’ll sing the new eternal song
Of Jesus’ love to me.

Refrain

About Capitol Hill Prayer Partners

Our Mission Statement

Capitol Hill Prayer Partners (CHPP) is a ministry which is positioned on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., helping members of the Body of Christ to "pray for those in authority over us" in our federal government. Our primary purpose is to offer intercession on site for the members of Congress and their staffs each day that the Senate and the House of Representatives are in session; and our chief prayer focus is that "God's will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." [Matthew 6:10].

Because Jesus Christ has shed His blood for all, we, too, pray for ALL, in a nonpartisan manner. Also, because the scriptures indicate that "the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much"  (James 4:17), we are confident that fervent prayer, offered in the halls of the highest chambers of government in our land, can avail much for America. Capitol Hill Prayer Partners welcomes those who feel called to join us, engaging in this strategic work of intercession for our nation: "For there is no power but of God; the powers that be are ordained of God."  [Romans 13:1]
