US Senate bill to fund gov't clears procedural hurdle as shutdown looms

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Senate on Tuesday took a step forward on a bipartisan bill meant to stop the government from shutting down in just five days, while the House sought to push ahead with a conflicting measure backed only by Republicans.

The Senate voted 77-19 to begin debate on a measure that would fund the government through Nov. 17, and includes around $6 billion for domestic disaster responses and another roughly $6 billion in aid for Ukraine.

The Republican-controlled House of Representatives, however, planned to push along with its own partisan bill that was unlikely to win support in the Democratic-majority Senate.

The split between the two chambers suggested the federal government was increasingly likely to enter its fourth shutdown in a decade on Sunday, a pattern of partisan gridlock that has begun to darken Wall Street's view of the U.S. government's credit.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell worked in tandem to win passage of a bipartisan short-term extension of federal funding at current levels.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday told reporters he would seek approval from his splintered Republicans on a bill that also would temporarily fund the government. (Read more)

- Abba, you know exactly what needs to be done to put an end to the Biden regime's spending policies that are intended to bankrupt our country.  We ask that you make a way where there is no way from the human perspective.  Father God, we cannot make anything happen here unless you go before us as we pray, breaking down the barriers set up by the enemy.  We ask for changed minds and hearts, for open doors that no man can close and closed doors that no man can open. We ask this in the name of our mighty savior, Jesus Christ, AMEN and AMEN

- "I will give him the key to the house of David--
the highest position in the royal court.
When he opens doors, no one will be able
            to close them;
when he closes doors, no one will be able

North Korea threatens nuclear war as United Nations warns of "annihilation"
New York, New York - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned Tuesday against a new atomic arms race bringing the threat of "annihilation" to the world, as North Korea charged that its peninsula was on the brink of nuclear war.

With nuclear-armed nations expanding and modernizing their arsenals, the UN chief called for a revitalized push to reduce and eventually eliminate those weapons.

"A worrisome new arms race is brewing. The number of nuclear weapons could rise for the first time in decades," Guterres told the General Assembly on the final day of its yearly session.

"Any use of a nuclear weapon - anytime, anywhere, and in any context - would unleash a humanitarian catastrophe of epic proportions," he said.

"Nuclear sabers are again being rattled. This is madness. We must reverse course," he said.

Russia and the US have by far the largest arsenals, but China's has been growing quickly. North Korea has also defied the world with its nuclear program and repeated missile tests.

In its own speech, one of the last of the week-long marathon of September's UN General Assembly, North Korea accused arch-rival the US of driving the peninsula "closer to the brink of nuclear war." (Read more)

- Abba, there are so many words being spoken these days that are nothing but doomsday fear.  Father God, you died to regain all power and authority over this earth. You gave that power and authority to your disciples to establish your Kingdom here on earth. Thank You, O God, that in the end, You ARE in control of
the affairs of men.

Please give us the grace to take the authority you have given us and use it as we oversee the areas of responsibility you have trained us for.  Father God, you do not call us without having equipped us with all we will need to be obedient.  You do not send us out without giving us everything required to be your hands and feet, to be salt and light on the earth.  We ask this in the name Jehovah Jirah, God our provider.  AMEN

- The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy
that You should come under my roof.
But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.
For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me.
And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another,
'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it.
When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed,
Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel."

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. President Herzog: 'We are in a domestic state of emergency' - Israel National News

Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Wednesday addressed the central ceremony marking 50 years since the Yom Kippur War and spoke about the importance of a unified nation.

"The Yom Kippur left us with many lessons that have followed us since then. Always be prepared for the most difficult and dangerous situations, listen to the opposite opinion and explore it deeply, and when the time comes, be open and mindful so as to not miss any opportunity to make peace. But the war also taught us something else. It taught us the meaning of national fortitude, the ability to stand strong even with thousands of fallen and injured, and the importance of brotherhood and a society that is cohesive during times of trouble," the President stated.

He added, "A half a century after the Yom Kippur War, Israeli society is split and polarized, and the crisis that has been with us for nine months already is tearing us apart and directly harming our society, economy, and security. (Read more)

2. Israel busts Iran-directed terror cell plotting to assassinate Ben-Gvir - JNS

Israel caught a Tehran-sponsored terrorist cell plotting to carry out attacks in the Jewish state, including assassinating National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) revealed on Wednesday.

Israeli forces arrested five suspects—three Palestinians and two Israeli citizens—who were recruited by the Islamic Republic.

The Shin Bet identified the three Palestinians as Ziad Shanti, 45, and Hassan Mujarimah, 34— both from Jenin—and 47-year-old Murad Kamamaja from the nearby village of Kafr Dan.

The Israelis were named as 23-year-old Hamad Hammadi from Nazareth and 18-year-old Yosef Hamad from Muqeible in the Gilboa region. (Read more)

3. Paraguay plans to open Jerusalem embassy in November - JNS

Paraguay is set to open the doors of its new Jerusalem embassy in November, in a sign of growing support for Israel in Latin America, Paraguayan officials said on Wednesday.

The move comes as an increasing number of countries have recently voiced their intention to relocate their diplomatic missions to Israel’s capital based on faith-based diplomacy.

Paraguayan President Santiago Peña, who will come to Israel for the embassy launch, had previously said that the office would be opened by the end of the year. (Read more)

4. Israel gets green light to join US Visa Waiver Program - Israel Hayom

The Biden administration announced Wednesday that it is admitting Israel into the United States Visa Waiver Program (VWP), allowing visa-free entry by Israeli citizens from Nov. 30, officials said.

The decision, which Israel's Foreign Ministry said on Monday was expected, is a win for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's religious-nationalist government, whose relations with Washington have been strained over its judiciary overhaul plan and its policies towards the Palestinians.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Wednesday announced the designation of Israel into the visa waiver program. (Read more)

5. Unique Byzantine Psalm inscription in New Testament Greek discovered in Judean Desert - Times of Israel

A rare inscription paraphrasing part of Psalm 86 in the Greek used in the New Testament has been unearthed by a team of Hebrew University archaeologists working at the Hyrcania Fortress, a Second Temple-era structure situated atop a forbidding hilltop in the Judean Desert, about 17 kilometers southeast of Jerusalem.

Found painted in red, under a cross, on the side of a large building stone, the Koine Greek inscription reads: “Jesus Christ, guard me, for I am poor and needy. Guard my life, for I am faithful to you.” In the original Hebrew psalm, known as “A Prayer of David,” the first section reads, “Hear me, Lord, and answer me.”

A community of Byzantine Christian monks founded in the 5th century CE is likely responsible for the adapted Psalm 86 inscription. Dr. Avner Ecker of Bar-Ilan University, who helped decipher the inscription, noted that the writing contains small grammatical errors, indicating that “the priest was not a native Greek speaker, but likely someone from the region who was raised speaking a Semitic language.” (Read more)

1. White House: We’re Unilaterally Getting Money for Climate Corps Congress Opposed, Have Used War Power on Climate - Breitbart

During an interview with NPR’s “Here and Now” on Monday, White House National Climate Adviser Ali Zaidi responded to a question on where the White House is getting money for the American Climate Corps given that money for the idea was taken out of the Inflation Reduction Act by stating that the plan “was a good idea then and it’s a good idea now.” And that they’ve used executive action “to bring together the authorities and resources of six different federal agencies,” and also boasted that President Joe Biden has “made sure that we’re using all of the tools of the presidency, whether it’s executive actions to stand up the Climate Corps or his wartime powers with the Defense Production Act” on climate.

Co-host Scott Tong asked, [relevant exchange begins around 2:15] “There were billions of dollars proposed for this idea when it was part of the bill known as the Inflation Reduction Act. It eventually passed, but this provision got taken out. So, where’s the money to pay for this?”

Zaidi answered, “Look, that investment was a good idea then and it’s a good idea now. What we’ve been able to do, thanks to the President using his executive authority, is to bring together the authorities and resources of six different federal agencies, coordinate them under one hub, team up with states, and team up with the private sector and philanthropy to get going after this vision. Just last week, we had five additional states step up, now ten total, who are implementing climate corps of their own, all stood up since 2021, since the President took office.” (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank you that your design for humanity and the sustainability of the earth is perfect. It is an insult to you, Lord, that these leaders think they’re able to make decisions on what the Earth can sustain. While we all can do our part to take better care of the earth, it should not involve tyrannical orders, seeking to control people, how their tax dollars are spent, and what resources they can, and cannot use from Your earth. So we just pray over our leaders that they would humble themselves and let go of their pride and choose to serve you in Jesus name amen.

- “As for you, be fruitful and multiply; Populate the earth abundantly and multiply in it.” (Genesis 9:7)

2. Dallas mayor switches parties to join GOP - CNN

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson announced Friday that he is switching parties and will serve as a Republican-affiliated mayor of the blue-leaning city.

While the Dallas mayoral office is nonpartisan, Johnson previously served as a Democrat in the Texas legislature. He slammed his former party in an op-ed for Wall Street Journal published Friday, blaming Democratic policies for “exacerbated crime and homelessness.”

“The future of America’s great urban centers depends on the willingness of the nation’s mayors to champion law and order and practice fiscal conservatism,” Johnson wrote. “Our cities desperately need the genuine commitment to these principles (as opposed to the inconsistent, poll-driven commitment of many Democrats) that has long been a defining characteristic of the GOP.” (Read more)

- Lord God, we take the time to pray today for our mayors. We pray that they would know you Lord as their personal Savior, that they would seek Your guidance, and serve their city well. In Jesus name, amen.

3. Philadelphia swarmed by alleged juvenile looters targeting the Apple Store, Lululemon, Footlocker and others - Fox News

Philadelphia police responded to popular retailers like the Apple Store, Lululemon and Footlocker after they were allegedly being ravaged by swarms of looters taking over the City of Brotherly Love Tuesday evening.

At about 8 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to reports of large crowds of juveniles allegedly looting stores in the Center City business corridor of the 9th District.
"In a proactive measure, officers from the 9th District stopped a group of males dressed in black attire and wearing masks at the intersection of 17th and Chestnut Streets," a police spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital.

As of midnight on Wednesday, police confirmed between 15 and 20 people were arrested during the looting and at least two firearms were recovered. Responding officers arrived at the Foot Locker and discovered the store had been ransacked in a "coordinated attack," according to the statement. A number of juveniles then fled the scene and at least one adult was arrested. (Read more)

- Lord we pray for all those affected by these attacks, that you would comfort them in their time of trouble. We pray Lord for all those who were part of the attack that they would be convicted and realize they need a Savior and that they would have an encounter with you, Jesus. Amen.

- “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,” Acts 3:19

4. Trump and sons respond to NY judge’s ruling on fraud claims - DML News

Former President Donald Trump, along with his two eldest sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, all reacted in fury after a judge issued a ruling in favor of New York Attorney General Letitia James on Tuesday.

James had sued Trump over allegations that he had overvalued his assets and committed fraud. She is seeking a $250 million fine and looking to ban the Trump family from doing business in New York.

Trump released the following statement:

"The widespread, radical attack against me, my family, and my supporters has now devolved to new, un-American depths, at the hands of a DERANGED New York State Judge, doing the bidding of a completely biased and corrupt “Prosecutor,” Letitia James, who ran for office based on a “GET TRUMP” platform, before even knowing anything about me."

Donald Trump Jr. posted multiple statements in response to the ruling. He wrote:
Anyone with even a basic understanding of the law should read the ruling and see for themselves how nonsensical and asinine the whole thing is. This is weaponized Blue State Marxist America, & another example of the sheer impossibility of a fairness & impartiality in these areas….(Read more)

- Lord we continue to lift up Trump and his family to you that you’d bring them comfort, peace, wisdom and strength. We have never seen such gruesome attacks to destroy anyone before. We pray Lord that these plans will not prevail and that Justice will be done, in Jesus' name. Amen.

- “Assuredly, the evil man will not go unpunished, But the descendants of the righteous will be delivered.” (Proverbs 11:21)

5. US soldier who crossed into North Korea 2 months ago is in American hands - AP News

The U.S. soldier who sprinted into North Korea across the heavily fortified border between the Koreas two months ago was released into American custody, the White House announced Wednesday. Earlier, North Korea had said it would expel Pvt. Travis King — though some had expected the North to drag out his detention in hopes of squeezing concessions from Washington at a time of high tensions between the two countries.

“U.S. officials have secured the return of Private Travis King from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said in a statement. “We appreciate the dedication of the interagency team that has worked tirelessly out of concern for Private King’s wellbeing.”

Swedish officials took King to the Chinese border, where he was met by the U.S. Ambassador to China Nicholas Burns, the Swedish ambassador to China, and at least one U.S. Defense Department official. Biden administration officials insisted they provided no concessions to North Korea to secure the soldier’s release. (Read more)

- Lord God we thank you for your mercy and bringing this soldier home safety. We thank you Lord that this tyrannical country chose to have mercy on this man. We pray that you would heal him emotionally and physically of the trauma he has endured, in Jesus' name. We pray, Lord, that he would have an encounter with you. Amen.

-
“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever!” (1 Chronicles 16:34)

6. Judge rejects Trump recusal request in Jan. 6 case - Just The News

U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan on Wednesday rejected a request from former President Donald Trump to recuse herself from special counsel Jack Smith's Jan. 6 case.

Trump's legal team previously asked Chutkan to leave the case, insisting that her prior public comments against the former president "create a perception of prejudgment incompatible with our justice system." Chutkan, for her part, opined that seeking a judge's recusal could be seen as "judge shopping," The Hill reported. She further insisted that "justice also demands that judges not recuse without cause."

In making the original request for recusal, his attorneys pointed to an October 2022 statement in which she described Jan. 6 as "nothing less than an attempt to violently overthrow the government, the legally, lawfully, peacefully elected government, by individuals who were mad that their guy lost." (Read more)

- Lord God, not only is this case not right to begin with, but Judge Chutkan has clearly shown she is biased in this case. We ask Lord for justice in this matter. We pray that the judges will judge in the favor of righteousness, not political bias, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

- “Then I charged your judges at that time, saying, ‘Hear the cases between your fellow countrymen, and judge righteously between a man and his fellow countryman, or the alien who is with him.” (Deuteronomy 1:16)

7.  McCarthy won't allow vote on Senate's short-term funding bill: Report - Just The News

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy will reportedly not permit the lower chamber to vote on a short-term funding package the Senate approved this week. The Senate on Tuesday passed a continuing resolution in a 77 to 19 vote that would fund the government until Nov. 17 and delay the debate over broader spending cuts and large-scale Ukraine aid until that point.

McCarthy, in response, has reportedly told his conference that he will not permit a vote on the bill to reach the House floor and instead pursue his own efforts to draft a budget plan, The Hill reported, citing Virginia Republican Rep. Bob Good.

"He reiterated that this morning. I called on him to consistently say that to the public, let the Senate know that’s dead on arrival and that there’s no way the House would pass that bill," the Virginia lawmaker said of the speaker. The outlet cited a second, unnamed House Republican who corroborated Good's account. (Read more)

- Lord God, we cover our representatives in the House, and in the Senate in the blood of Jesus. We pray specifically for this budget, and the deals that both parties are trying to make that they would have unity and agree on what’s best for the country. We bind the spirit of strife and divisiveness in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

- “…then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.” (Philippians 2:2)

8. Rep. Austin Scott on Bidens’ try to help China firm buy energy assets inside US: ‘How much more of a traitor could you be’ - Just The News

Georgia Congressman Austin Scott gives his reaction to breaking news released today by the House Ways and Means Committee that James Biden, the brother of President Joe Biden told the FBI last year that the Biden family, including himself and Hunter Biden unsuccessfully tried to help a Chinese company buy U.S. energy assets that included a liquid natural gas port in Louisiana also admitting to the FBI that the family believed that this Chinese company was directly tied to the Communist Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The members of the House Intelligence committee remarks that the documents released today just prove that, “its even worse than [he] thought it was, that the [Biden’s] would go that far.”

Saying that with the ports in Louisiana, “a tremendous portion of the energy that we use inside the United States come comes through those hubs and the idea that you would help the Chinese acquire assets in that area, to give an adversary and again China is no longer a competitor, they are an adversary, the ability to control the energy supply inside the United States. And you're talking about an adversary controlling the flow of U.S. energy to American citizens and American industry. I don't understand how much more of a traitor you could be than to do such a thing. (Read more)

- Lord God, this policy is such a gross injustice and sabotage against our nation. We take a spiritual ax and we cut at the root of all efforts, bribes, and evil agendas from our leaders who seek to sell our country out to our enemies, and we break their powers now in Jesus name.

- “Woe to those who scheme iniquity,
Who work out evil on their beds!
When morning comes, they do it,
For it is in the power of their hands.” (
Micah 2:1)

Stupidocrisy: Falling In Love With Virtual Lovers

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, September 27, 2023

Politicians in the US are debating whether to ban the popular social media app Tik Tok because the communist Chinese use it to collect troves of personal user information and uses the app to influence society and elections to the benefit of China. Tik Tok says that its mission is to “inspire creativity and bring joy” as a destination for short-form mobile video. Newsweek reports, “TikTok is owned by its Chinese parent company ByteDance, which is based in Beijing…Although ByteDance and TikTok both have offices in China, neither is owned by the ruling Communist party and both insist they are not controlled by the government.” We all know how the communists lie and twist things. But there is even a greater threat.

On the Tik Tok website, there are a whole lot of videos about “Him.” Tik Tok promotes Him, saying, “Discover videos related to Him on TikTok. See more videos about Obsessed with Him, Him Videos, Tiktoks for Him, for Him Videos, Things to Send Him, to Him.” Do you know Him? So here’s the skinny on “Him,” according to online outlet “Rest of World”: Chinese AI voice startup Timedomain launched “Him” in March, using voice-synthesizing technology to provide virtual companionship to users, most of them young women. The “Him” characters acted like their long-distance boyfriends, sending them affectionate voice messages every day. “Him,” an artificial intelligence chatbot, would say things like, “In a world full of uncertainties, I would like to be your certainty…Go ahead and do whatever you want. I will always be here.” Read More

Supreme Court rejects Alabama's bid to use congressional map with just one majority-Black district

The Supreme Court on Tuesday handed a defeat to Alabama Republicans for the second time in three months, rejecting their latest attempt to use a congressional map that includes only one majority-Black district.

The court in two related applications refused emergency requests from Republican state officials to block lower court rulings that invalidated the new map. Lower court proceedings to approve a new map are still ongoing.

The decision was in line with the Supreme Court ruling against the state in June that reaffirmed a key provision of the landmark Voting Rights Act. There were no noted dissenting votes and the court did not explain its reasoning.

"Alabama's open defiance of the Voting Rights Act stops today," said Abha Khanna, a lawyer who helped challenge the maps.

She expressed hope that the decision might "prompt Alabama to rethink their dogged resistance to providing equal political opportunities to Black Alabamians."

The Supreme Court's earlier ruling forced the state back to the drawing board. But the new map — like the previous one — includes only one district where Black voters are likely to be able to elect a candidate of their choosing. Alabama has seven congressional districts, and 27% of the state's population is Black. (NBC News) Read more here.

- Abba, we ask you to align hearts of the Republican state officials with your heart and we ask the same for the lower court judges that are still in the decision making process.  We ask that your truth in this circumstance become the truth for all involved.  Father God, you desire truth to prevail, we ask for truth and righteousness to prevail in all these judicial decisions.  We ask Holy Spirit to speak to minds and hearts, bring peace to all those who are struggling with these answers, lead them to trust you no matter how this ends.  We ask this in the name Yahweh-Shalom, The Lord our Peace.

"In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you

He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

Record-Setting NASA Astronaut, Crewmates
Return from Space Mission

After spending an American record-breaking 371 days in space, NASA astronaut Frank Rubio safely landed on Earth with his crewmates Wednesday.

Rubio departed the International Space Station, along with Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitri Petelin, at 3:54 a.m. EDT, and made a safe, parachute-assisted landing at 7:17 a.m. (5:17 p.m. Kazakhstan time), southeast of the remote town of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.

“Frank’s record-breaking time in space is not just a milestone; it’s a major contribution to our understanding of long-duration space missions,” said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson. “Our astronauts make extraordinary sacrifices away from their homes and loved ones to further discovery. NASA is immensely grateful for Frank’s dedicated service to our nation and the invaluable scientific contributions he made on the International Space Station. He embodies the true pioneer spirit that will pave the way for future exploration to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.”

Rubio launched on his first spaceflight on Sept. 21, 2022, alongside Prokopyev and Petelin. Rubio’s spaceflight is the longest single spaceflight by a U.S. astronaut, breaking the record previously held at 355 days by NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei. Read More

'1 Million March' Against Sexualization of Kids as Trudeau Blasts Parents for 'Hate'
Thousands of parents in cities across Canada participated in the "1 Million March for Children" Wednesday with the goal of protecting their children from LGBTQ indoctrination and sexualization in public schools. The Canadian Press reports the marchers accused their school boards of exposing children to "gender ideology" and said parents have the right to know whether their children are questioning their gender identity. At the same time, counter-protesters pushed for children to be taught LGBTQ+ inclusion and accused concerned parents of importing U.S. culture wars into their country. In Toronto's Queens Park, thousands of protesters on both sides faced off against each other, according to CBC News. One demonstrator told the outlet he was at the park to "support children and the importance to maintain their innocence," voicing his concerns about gender curriculum and age-inappropriate books in schools. "There's a lot of political rhetoric going on right now about what's happening in our schools,"

Nathan McMillan told the CBC. "I think it's important that we keep kids out of these important discussions that really are between parents and their children. Teachers and institutions, unions, big money, they shouldn't be having these types of conversations with kids in such an overt fashion." An estimated crowd of 2,000 demonstrators and 30 counter-protestors gathered outside of Mississauga's City Hall with shouts of "leave our kids alone," coming from the parents, CBC News reported. One mother told the outlet the crowd of demonstrators "will be a start for all parents who don't approve {of} this kind of ideology indoctrinated in our kid's minds. We are not minority against minority. We are against ideology for kids." Meanwhile, in the country's capital of Ottawa, thousands of other parents and their children also took part in the march. The group "Moms for Liberty" tweeted a video showing scenes from the march. "'Leave Our Kids Alone' is the rallying cry of parents across Canada and America. We do NOT co-parent with the government," the group wrote. (CBN) Read More and Watch Video Here
- Abba, we lift PRAISE for northern neighbors in Canada standing against indoctrinating innocent children! We proclaim in the name of Jesus that the culture war of 'gender-ideology' will SHATTER into pieces and become null-and-void, in Canada and in the U.S., as protesting parents declare NO MORE! May the demonstrations of the '1 Million March' across our northern border and bold parental stances across America bring victory for the protection of every child. In the powerful and mighty name of Yeshua, Amen

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Scripture: He’s calling you! Mark 10:49

Lyrics:
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.

Refrain
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?

Refrain

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me.

Refrain

O for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
