Harris accepts CNN debate invitation for October 23, again challenging Trump to another showdown
|
|
Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday accepted an invitation from CNN to debate former President Donald Trump on October 23, challenging her rival to another engagement on a public stage in the final weeks of the campaign.
“Vice President Harris is ready for another opportunity to share a stage with Donald Trump,” campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement. “Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate.”
Harris tweeted Saturday that she “will gladly accept a second presidential debate” and that she hopes Trump “will join” her on October 23.
Trump on Saturday argued it was “too late” to have another presidential debate because Americans have begun casting their ballots in the 2024 election. “The problem with another debate is that it’s just too late, voting has already started,” Trump said at a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Presidential nominees have traditionally had the final word in a nationally televised October debate following the vice presidential nominees’ debate. Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, is set to square off against Harris’ vice presidential pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, on October 1 in a debate hosted by CBS. (CNN) Read more here.

- Thank You Father that President Trump is refusing to be drawn into another opportunity for accusations and deceptions against him on the national stage. We renounce the plots and schemes against him and we, the people, by the leftists in the current government. We pray for strength and stability in the nation, as we stand fast for what is right and just and good, in Jesus name. We continue to agree for Your divine protection over President Trump's life and that of his loved ones, and we also agree for victory in honest, legal elections, voted on only by citizens of this nation, in Jesus name.
"Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor Who exalt themselves against me. Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, 'Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.'" (Psalm 35:26-27)

IDF confirms eliminating multiple top Hezbollah commanders in Friday’s Beirut strike
|
|
Radwan Force leadership taken out; Hezbollah acknowledges 2 top leaders, 14 others died in attack that killed head of operations Ibrahim Aqil; Lebanon says overall death toll at 37
|
|
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed Saturday that it had eliminated many of the top commanders of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force in the Friday strike in Beirut that killed Ibrahim Aqil, the head of Hezbollah’s military operations.
Hezbollah acknowledged that the airstrike had killed two of its most senior commanders and 14 other members of the terror group who were meeting in the basement of a Beirut residential building. The devastating strike was a further blow to the Iranian proxy and brought the sides closer to a full-scale war.
The military named 11 top Radwan officials killed in the strike. The Radwan Force has spearheaded Hezbollah’s ground operations in south Lebanon.
Aqil was the head of Hezbollah’s military operations, the acting commander of the Radwan Force, and the head of a long-gestating plan to invade the Galilee. Aqil had been meeting with the senior commanders of the Radwan Force under a residential building in Beirut when the IDF carried out its strike.
Ahmed Wahbi, identified by Hezbollah and the IDF as the head of the terror group’s training unit and a former commander of the Radwan Force, was also among the dead in the strike. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

- Father, it has been a powerful series of events taking place against Hezbollah this last week and we are thankful to see them stopped in their tracks. We know they have been stewarding exceedingly evil plans against Israel, sponsored by Iran, and we agree that they will be completely unable to implement them, in Jesus name. We pray also, that this very aggressive action will cause Iran to pause their hate-filled activity against Israel and perhaps seek a better route to stability, in Jesus name. We bless Israel and pray for them to stand strong in the face of incredible opposition, for the glory of God in the land. Amen.
- "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all, He guards all his bones; Not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked, And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned." (Psalm 34:19-22)

Mayor of Muslim-majority Michigan city endorses Trump: ‘Right choice for this critical time’
|
|
Mayor Ghalib met with former President Trump in Flint earlier this week for a private 20-minute conversation
|
|
The mayor of a Muslim-majority city in Michigan says he is endorsing Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, calling the former commander-in-chief, "the right choice for this critical time."
Amer Ghalib, mayor of the Detroit-area suburb Hamtramck, announced his endorsement of Trump in a Facebook post Sunday. While admitting he and Trump didn’t "agree on everything," he said he regarded the former commander-in-chief as "a man of principles."
"Though it’s looking good, he may or may not win the election and be the 47th president of the United States, but I believe he is the right choice for this critical time," Ghalib wrote in Arabic on his Facebook page. "I’ll not regret my decision no matter what the outcome would be, and I’m ready to face the consequences. For this, and for many other reasons, I announce my support and endorsement for the former, and hopefully, the next president of the United States, Donald Trump."
He added: "Now, let the Caravan begin its journey. This is just the starting point." (Fox News) Read more

1. IDF says civilians in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley have 2 hours to leave homes used by Hezbollah to store weapons - Times of Israel
IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari issues a warning to civilians in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley, calling on them to flee from homes where Hezbollah has been storing weapons.
“We are preparing to strike terror targets in the Beqaa Valley in the near future. Hezbollah stores strategic weapons there, in civilian buildings, and uses the population as a human shield and knowingly puts it in danger,” he says in a press conference.
“I am warning the Lebanese residents in the villages in the Beqaa Valley. This is a specific warning to the residents of the Beqaa Valley. Residents who are near buildings or inside homes where missiles and weapons are stored, distance yourselves from them immediately!” Hagari says. (Read more)

3. Top Palestinian Official Says Israel to Experience a ‘New Oct. 7’ Attack From Southern Lebanon - Algemeiner
A senior Palestinian official has boasted that Israel will soon suffer another large-scale massacre similar to the Palestinian terror group Hamas’s Oct. 7 attacks on southern Israel — except this time the onslaught will come from southern Lebanon rather than Gaza.
The warning from Hassan Khraisheh — deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, the legislature of the Palestinian Authority (PA) — came as tensions continued to skyrocket between Israel and Hezbollah, the powerful terrorist organization based in Lebanon.
“We are living a new Oct. 7, but this time it is not in Gaza, but rather in the north of occupied Palestine, starting from southern Lebanon,” Khraisheh told Quds Press, according to a translation of his comments. (Read more)

4. It’s On: Hezbollah Fires at Samaria, Akko, Haifa, Galilee, Golan Heights - Jewish Press
Welcome to the Third Lebanon War, readers. The Israeli government has not yet declared it officially, but it is clear we’re already there.
Israeli forces launched a massive wave of airstrikes Monday against Hezbollah targets throughout southern and eastern Lebanon, with secondary explosions and flying rockets making it clear that indeed, weapons and ammunition were being stored at the sites.
In response, Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets and suicide drones at Israeli targets in various communities throughout the Galilee and Golan Heights, including Tzfat (Safed) and its surrounds, and then at Carmel and the Haifa suburbs known as the “krayot”, Yagur and Kfar Hasidim, as well as the coastal city of Akko, the Jezre’el Valley and into the Samaria region. 5. Israel make take control of northern Gaza, impose military rule - World Israel News
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee(FADC) Sunday that he is seriously considering a proposal to take over all of northern Gaza to pressure Hamas to restart negotiations for a hostages-for-ceasefire deal.
The “Generals’ Plan” was presented to the government by the Commanders and Reserve Soldiers Forum early this month as a way to defeat Hamas altogether.
Besides turning the stretch from Gaza City north into a closed military zone after allowing all residents to leave via secured humanitarian corridors, it also envisions the IDF taking charge of all humanitarian aid deliveries.
No aid would be allowed into the besieged zone, forcing any Hamas forces left there after the evacuation of civilians to either surrender, starve or come out to fight the overwhelming IDF force that would greet them. (Read more)

1. Bullying, Harassing, Name-Calling’: EPA ‘Retaliated Against’ Three Dissenting Scientists, Inspector General Finds – Daily Caller
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials retaliated against three scientists who expressed dissenting scientific views, the agency’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) said Thursday.
Five different EPA scientists alleged to OIG that they had been subject to reprisals for expressing their differing scientific opinions about chemical assessments while former President Donald Trump was in the White House, and the watchdog’s office ultimately concluded that three of them had been subjected to blowback for doing so. The three scientists who faced retaliation were variously harassed, given lower grades on performance reviews, missed out on bonus payments or reassigned to different posts within the bureaucracy.
“The investigations conducted by the EPA OIG determined that three out of the five scientists were retaliated against in violation of the EPA’s Scientific Integrity Policy for expressing differing scientific opinions,” the EPA OIG said of its findings. “Of these three scientists, we found that one was also retaliated against after engaging in protected activities in violation of the Whistleblower Protection Act. The EPA OIG has consistently identified promoting ethical conduct and protecting scientific integrity as a top management challenge at the EPA.” (Read more)
- Lord, we take Your authority over this censorship and pray that You will bring Your mighty power over the EPA leadership. We bind the “climate change” agenda that refuses any dissenting opinions and ask for a flood of truth to come over the entire administration.

2. Democrat Donor Arrested For Threatening To Kill 6 Supreme Court Justices: DOJ- Daily Wire
A Democrat donor was arrested this week for allegedly threatening to murder six U.S. Supreme Court Justices and some of their family members.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced Thursday that 76-year-old Panos Anastasiou sent more than 465 messages to the Supreme Court through a public website run by the court.
The messages — sent from March 10, 2023, through July 16, 2024 — “escalated to messages intending to threaten harm toward the victims,” the DOJ said. “The messages contained violent, racist, and homophobic rhetoric coupled with threats of assassination by torture, hanging, and firearms.”
Court documents said the threats were “intended to intimidate Supreme Court Justices 1-6 and retaliate against them for official actions Supreme Court Justices 1-6 had taken in their official capacity as federal judges.” (Read more)

3. FTC Commissioner Warns Biden-Harris Overreach Could Target Conservatives on Tech Platforms- Breitbart
In 2020, during the Trump administration, the FTC issued orders to nine tech companies — Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Snap, Discord, Reddit, Twitter, and Amazon — seeking to examine their data practices and how they operate.
Some of the key findings in the FTC report include revelations that “Companies’ deletion practices varied and may not reflect what consumers expect.” That is, while some companies claim to delete data, they don’t actually follow through with it.
Users might assume that “deletion” means a social media platform has permanently erased their data, but companies have instead been found to “de-identify” data, meaning the data was made anonymous. However, the data could potentially be subject to “re-identification,” the report points out.
Another problematic finding is that companies may have the technical capacity to detect users under age 13, and they often treated teens as adults. (Read more)

4. Israeli Amb.: Iran ‘Will Be More Involved’ in U.S. Election ‘Than You Can Imagine’- Breitbart
On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Your World,” Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon warned the United States that Iran will meddle in the 2024 elections more “than you can imagine.” And cited the recent Iranian cyberattack where Iran sent messages to Israeli citizens warning them about a fake attack.
Host Sandra Smith asked, “Throwing one other thing into the mix here, amid these escalating tensions, is the Iranian meddling in U.S. elections and the United States’ response to it. So, what do you — how would you generalize the United States’ response right now, obviously, as we work our way to a presidential election just weeks away now and how we are responding to the growing threat that is Iran?”
Danon answered, “I’m sure you have the capabilities, but you have to be aware that the Iranians ignore protocol, they ignore diplomacy, they will be more involved than you can imagine. We see it in Israel, we have seen cyberattacks in the last 24 hours. They were actually texting millions of Israelis forced messages trying to scare them about [an] attack coming from Lebanon. They will do the same here. You have to be prepared for that.”

- Lord, we pray that You will bring wisdom, knowledge, and discernment to all of our leaders regardless of their political bent. Even as Iran stole documents from Trump and gave them to the Biden campaign, we ask that nothing planned by any enemy will succeed, and that all elections will be free and fair.

5. Arizona election-security laws reinstated by US appeals court - Reuters
A U.S. appeals court reinstated on Friday a pair of Arizona election-security laws aimed at preventing people from being registered to vote in multiple jurisdictions.
The ruling clears the way for enforcement of provisions that allow counties to cancel registrations of voters who have moved out of state and criminalizes allowing out-of-state residents to vote in Arizona, one of a handful of states that could decide the Nov. 5 U.S. presidential election.
The lawsuit was filed by the advocacy groups Voto Latino, Priorities USA and the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans, who alleged the provisions unfairly targeted voter-registration efforts and criminalized common voter behavior.
Representatives for the groups did not immediately respond to requests for comment on Thursday. (Read more)

Becoming What We Hear
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, September 23, 2024
Because the world doesn’t want to be told what to do, many critically see the Bible as a book of do’s and don’ts. But in reality, the commandments of God are freely chosen and if obeyed lead to a life of liberty rather than one of bondage. In Deuteronomy 27:9-10, Moses and the priests tell the people, “Be quiet and listen, Israel! Today you have become the people of the LORD your God. Therefore you are to listen to what the LORD your God says and obey his commandments and laws, which I am giving you today.” The commands contain the Hebrew word “shema,” which means to hear, listen, internalize and respond. Shema is used 92 times in Deuteronomy and its deeper meaning is very unique.
Shema means to not just hear, but become what you are hearing. When we imitate God, we are internalizing the values and virtues He relates to us. Rabbi Maimonides, considered among the foremost commentators on Judaism, said it well, “The pinnacle of the moral life, to which we all aspire, is to do what is right because it is right, because that is what it is to walk in God’s ways.” The commands are more than a list of do’s and don’ts, God gives reasons for the commands, throughout the book of Deuteronomy. Many of the reasons have to do with being slaves in Egypt. So they know what it feels like to be oppressed, and an outsider. There also is a connection between Genesis 1, the story of creation, and the laws of holiness. Read More

Amanda Grace: "Awe in the High Holy Days"
A PROPHETIC WORD
|
|
|
Word of the Lord received on August 16, 2024:
I woke up at 6:45 AM, and I audibly heard, "Running." Then I heard, "I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah." I also heard, "Brazil." (I would watch those areas right now.)
ALL praise, honor, and glory be to the Lord of hosts, Maker of ALL things, Creator of ALL things. Before the foundations of the earth were ever laid, I AM was. He sits on the highest throne, clothed with majesty and righteousness. His goodness is everlasting, and to HIS Kingdom there is no end.
The Road of Perdition
And the Spirit of the Lord says this day, "Take heed, MY children, [of] the road of perdition they attempt to lay brick by brick before you in your nation... a road of perdition that leads to a GATE, a GATE that, for a certain price, will be opened to totalitarian leaderships of the earth in order that certain nations may attempt a MONOPOLY on America," says the Lord.
"I Am Breaking Arms of Flesh in This Hour"
Thus says the Lord, "Is My arm too short that it cannot save? Is My hand too short that it cannot take hold? Do not put your trust in the arms of flesh in this hour, for I the Lord thy God AM BREAKING ARMS OF FLESH IN THIS HOUR; THEY SHALL BE BROKEN. FOR THEY WERE RAISED TO RECEIVE FROM A DARGON, A SERPENT, AND ANCIENT DEMONS OF RUIN, WHO OBSESSIVELY DESIRE TO TAKE TERRITORIES BACK THROUGH THOSE THEY HAVE SHOWED SUCH IMAGES OF A TAINTED GLORY, THAT HAVE BEEN NOW LURED INTO BEING THE FACE OF SUCH DEVIOUS CAMPAIGNS," SAYS THE LORD. Hurricane to intensify over Gulf of Mexico, to be strongest to strike US this season
|
|
People in the Florida Panhandle, Big Bend region and much of the central and eastern Gulf coast need to complete preparations for major hurricane impacts by Wednesday night before hazardous conditions arrive by Thursday.
Key takeaways:
• A major hurricane is poised to make landfall in the United States later this week
• Helene will likely be the name given to the brewing storm
• This will be "a large storm with life-threatening impacts" hundreds of miles away from where it makes landfall
A major hurricane is coming to the Gulf of Mexico. AccuWeather meteorologists warn that communities along the central and eastern Gulf coast only have a few days to prepare for the fast-brewing, quick-moving storm, which can potentially bring life-threatening storm surge, flooding rainfall, and destructive winds.
The western Caribbean to the Gulf of Mexico has been an area AccuWeather meteorologists have been highlighting as a hot spot for tropical activity since the middle of September.
Showers and thunderstorms quickly gathered over the weekend in the western Caribbean and adjacent land areas in Central America. Localized flash flooding and mudslides will occur in areas surrounding the western Caribbean from Jamaica and Cuba to southeastern Mexico, Belize, Honduras and Nicaragua. Read More

Preston Perry's journey from gang violence to evangelism:
'Can't make disciples if you don't talk about sin'
|
|
Preston Perry’s journey from the violent streets of Chicago to becoming a passionate voice for Christ is a story marked by transformation, resilience and, perhaps most notably, a calling to spread the Gospel in a way that reaches beyond words. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, Perry, a spoken-word poet, performing artist and husband to author Jackie Hill Perry, was no stranger to trauma. He witnessed gang violence and the murder of loved ones — experiences he told The Christian Post hardened his view of the world and left him questioning the existence of a just God. "My uncle who raised me was murdered; my friend was murdered; my cousins were murdered," he recalled.
Yet, it was within this environment that Perry found his faith and developed an approach to evangelism that emphasizes winning hearts over arguments. “I grew up in a melting pot of different world views, religions and violence,” the father of four recalled, adding that his skepticism towards Christianity was rooted in the suffering he saw around him. "It was hard for me to reconcile in my mind that there was a God, a just God, seeing so much violence and struggle," he explained. It wasn't until he encountered the Gospel at a house church at 16 that he began to understand the gravity of sin and the reality of a God who hates evil. (Christian Post) Read more
- Abba, we Praise You for the powerful testimony of changed life through the gift of repentance and genuine faith in Christ. We ask that You would give this previous gang-member and other believers opportunities to share the Gospel, and speak into the lives of lost gang-members inside Chicago and all across our nation. We give You all the GLORY for this believer's transformed life and others who are serving as mentors and discipling in Christ. Cause broken hearts of genuine repentance to fall upon every gang-member as they receive the truth of the gospel, bringing a call for righteousness onto the streets of every city! Through the Blood and Mighty Name of Jesus Christ-Amen and Amen.
