Texas AG Ken Paxton Acquitted on All 16 Articles of Impeachment

Following eight days of testimony from both sides, 30 state senators voted on Saturday to acquit or remove from office Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on 16 articles of impeachment.

The state Senate also voted to dismiss the four articles of impeachment that were held in abeyance with a 19–11 vote.

"Today, the truth prevailed. The truth could not be buried by mudslinging politicians or their powerful benefactors. I've said many times: Seek the truth! And that is what was accomplished," Mr. Paxton said in a statement after the acquittal.

There are 31 state senators in Texas; however, only 30 senators—18 Republicans and 12 Democrats—could vote on the impeachment articles because Sen. Angela Paxton, the wife of Mr. Paxton, is ineligible to vote.

Ms. Paxton was required to attend her husband's trial but was barred from participating in deliberation and voting, according to the trial rules.

The 30 senators, who began their deliberations just before noon on Friday, returned to the Senate chamber at noon on Saturday to vote on 16 of 20 separate articles of impeachment. Four of the articles—articles 11, 12, 13, and 14—were held in abeyance. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

United Auto Workers Begin Historic Strike Against Ford, GM, Stellantis After Failing to Reach Deal

United Auto Workers (UAW) union members have gone on strike against the three biggest automakers for the first time in history after failing to reach a deal on a new labor contract by the 11:59 p.m. Sept. 14 deadline.

Despite weeks of negotiations, the union was unable to come to an agreement over contract negotiations with General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis—known as the big three—before current contracts expired, prompting thousands of its members to walk out of three factories across the country in Missouri, Michigan, and Ohio.

The strikes are taking place at Ford's Bronco assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan, GM's mid-sized pickup truck assembly plant in Wentzville, Missouri, and Stellantis's Jeep assembly plant in Toledo, Ohio.

It is unclear how long the strikes will last, however UAW—the largest union in the nation—has an $825 million strike fund that will compensate workers $500 a week while out on strike.

Video footage shared online showed some of the strikes began promptly after midnight, with dozens of workers taking to the streets and holding posters stating "end tiers" and "record profits, record contracts," and chanting in support of the strikes and higher pay.

"This fight is our generation’s defining moment," UAW said in a press release announcing the strike late Thursday. "Not just at the Big Three, but across the entire working class. We will stand up for ourselves. We will stand up for our families. We will stand up for our communities."

UAW represents some 150,000 workers at General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis, however approximately 12,700 workers will be taking part in the strike, UAW President Shawn Fain said at a press conference Thursday night; 3,600 at GM, 3,300 at Ford, and 5,800 at Stellantis. (The Epoch Times) Read more

- Father, we pray for Your order in this matter.  We pray for both the union and the automakers to come into alignment and agreement that is just and fair, in Jesus name. For those on each side who are working on a wicked agenda, designed to cripple our economy, we ask You to sever the cords between them, according to Psalm 129:4. May our national economic situation be able to weather this storm and that Your will be done.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

- "'Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.'"  (Matthew 25:13)

He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked."

Hunter Biden Indicted on Drug-Related Gun Charges

Hunter Biden faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted on three charges related to lying in the purchase of a Colt revolver by not revealing his addiction to drugs. Pictured: Biden departs Holy Spirit Catholic Church after attending Mass with his father, President Joe Biden, in Johns Island, South Carolina, Aug. 13, 2022. (Photo: Nicholas Kamm/AFP/Getty Images)

Special counsel David Weiss indicted Hunter Biden on three drug-related gun charges Thursday, just two days after the House opened a formal impeachment inquiry targeting his father, President Joe Biden.

The three-count indictment accuses Hunter Biden of lying on a form to purchase a Colt Cobra revolver by not revealing his addiction to crack cocaine. Conviction on the three charges could bring Biden up to 25 years in prison

The three federal charges come after an initial plea deal for misdemeanor charges over tax and gun charges fell apart. (The Daily Signal) Read more here.

- Holy One, we call for Your hand to expose the layers of corruption working to obfuscate and hinder the full measure of justice regarding the Biden family.  We thank You that we are recognizing the futility of these continued minor indictments, meant to distract us from the impeachment inquiry.  We pray for Your light to shine in the darkness of these hearts to bring repentance, in Jesus name.

-"For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest On the land allotted to the righteous, Lest the righteous reach out their hands to iniquity."  (Psalm 125:3)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Iran Expels IAEA Inspectors from Nuclear Facilities - Jewish Press

The Islamic Republic of Iran has expelled approximately one third of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors from its nuclear facilities, the United Nations’ agency director, Rafael Grossi, said on Saturday in a statement.

In response to the announcement, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately issued a statement saying, “Israel is not surprised by Iran’s actions, which prove that it is violating all its commitments.” In a rare move, the statement was issued on the Sabbath, which this weekend was also the first day of the Rosh Hashana holiday.

Gross said that Iran had withdrawn the designation of “several experienced Agency inspectors assigned to conduct verification activities in Iran under the NPT Safeguards Agreement,” noting the move followed a similar, previous recent withdrawal of the designation of “another experienced Agency inspector” for Iran. (Read more)

2. Netanyahu: Iran is violating all of its nuclear commitments - Jerusalem Post

Iran is "violating all of its commitments" in its pursuit of nuclear weapons, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu charged on Saturday evening through the Prime Minister's Office, after it was revealed the Islamic Republic had banned a third of IAEA inspectors assigned to it, hindering its oversight of Tehran's atomic activities.

"Israel is not surprised by Iran's moves, which prove it is continuing to violate all of its commitments to the international community," the PMO statement read.

UN nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Grossi on Saturday condemned Iran's "disproportionate and unprecedented" move to bar multiple inspectors assigned to the country. (Read more)

3.  Anti-Government Protests Begin in Israel as Rosh Hashanah Ends - Algemeiner

i24 News – Protest organizers called for Israelis to demonstrate Sunday, with a march going through the streets of Tel Aviv. Anti-government protesters also gathered in Ben Gurion airport as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu embarks on a state visit to the US.

At 7:00 pm, Israelis against the government’s planned judicial overhaul gathered at Rothschild Boulevard, where the country’s Declaration of Independence was signed in 1948, and marched to Kaplan Street, the focal point of anti-government protests for the 37th consecutive week.

Police began closing streets at 6:30 pm, with additional streets closed as the march made its way through the city.

This comes as organizers delayed the mass protests, usually held on Saturday, due to the Rosh Hashanah holiday, which started Friday night and ended Sunday night. The organizers called on demonstrators to march wearing white and “holding the Declaration of Independence against those seeking to cancel it.” (Read more)

4. Shameful: UNESCO classifies ancient Jericho as 'Palestinian heritage site' -Israel National News

The Heritage Committee of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced on Sunday that one of the newest entries on the organization's list of global heritage sites is Tel a-Sultan in Jericho.

The UNESCO member states decided that the tel will be considered a "Palestinian world heritage site." The decision was made in a vote that took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The UN clarified that there are Jewish and Christian sites near the site that are not included in the list - but there is a value to protect them.

Tel a-Sultan, also known as Tel Jericho, is the central tel in the city. It sits at 21 meters above its surroundings and is 40 dunams wide. It includes many archaeological findings, including the round tower of Jericho, which is 8.50 meters wide, and what remains of it is 7.70 meters tall. The first settlement of the tel is estimated to be in 9500 BCE. (Read more)

5. Palestinians riot on Gaza border as Hamas calls for third initifada - World Israel News

For the second time in as many days days, hundreds of Palestinians gathered to riot at the border separating the Gaza Strip and Israel, amid calls by Palestinian terror groups for a third intifada.

Rioters ignited tires and set off explosive devices near the security barrier, the IDF said, and added that it responded using riot dispersal techniques, including resorting to live fire in some instances.

According to Hamas-run health ministry in the Gaza Strip, Israeli fire wounded five Palestinians during the clashes.

The recent surge in border rioting comes at a time when the IDF has been taking proactive steps to maintain security in the region. On Friday, the IDF executed a drone strike targeting a Hamas observation post in the Gaza Strip following the renewed riots at the border. (Read more)

1. Biden wants automakers to give UAW workers more in strike talks - Reuters

President Joe Biden on Friday called on automakers to concede more to workers who walked off the job at Detroit's largest car companies, accusing them of enjoying record profits without sharing them fairly with workers.

The UAW strike at three factories owned by General Motors, Ford and Chrysler-owner Stellantis kicked off the most ambitious U.S. industrial labor action in decades.

"No one wants a strike, but I respect workers' right to use their options under the collective bargaining" system, Biden said. "I understand their frustration."

The auto companies have made some significant offers in negotiations so far, Biden said.

"But I believe they should go further to ensure record corporate profits mean record contracts for the UAW," he said, echoing sentiments by union leaders.

Labor unions like the UAW - which represents 146,000 workers - are key to Biden's game plan for winning reelection in 2024. He needs their support to win key states like Pennsylvania and Michigan again, which stand to bear the brunt of any major strikes against carmakers.

The UAW has yet to endorse Biden, the only major union not to do so. (Read more)

2. Minnesota congressman introduces bill to ban central bank digital currency - LifeSite News

U.S. Republican Rep. Tom Emmer on Tuesday reintroduced a measure that would ban the Federal Reserve from issuing Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) over privacy concerns.

Rep. Tom Emmer represents Minnesota’s sixth district and is the majority whip for the U.S. House of Representatives. He voted last year in favor of Democrats’ “Respect for Marriage Act” to codify same-sex “marriage.”

On Monday, he and 50 cosponsors reintroduced the CBDC Anti-Surveillance State Act to uphold American “values of privacy, individual sovereignty, and free-market competitiveness” by halting “the efforts of unelected bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. from issuing a [CBDC] that dismantles Americans’ right to financial privacy,” according to a press release from Emmer’s office.

The bill, originally introduced in February, is meant to prevent “the Federal Reserve from issuing a CBDC directly to individuals, ensuring the Fed cannot mobilize itself into a retail bank able to collect personal financial data on Americans,” the press release states. (Read more) hold for link!

- Father, may this bill pass to protect individuals, ensuring the Fed cannot mobilize itself into a retail bank.

3. US House Panel Probes Treasury Over Federal Tax Credits for Chinese Companies - The Epoch Times

A U.S. House panel on China asked the Department of Treasury to clarify whether it would endorse U.S. taxpayer funding for a Chinese green energy company over its battery plant in Michigan.

The inquiry comes as the Treasury formulates its guidance on applying the term “foreign entity of concern” to incentives under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), a new law partly aimed at reducing U.S. dependence on China for renewable energy.

“It is perplexing that the U.S. government would perpetuate this chokehold by actively supporting CCP-backed companies expanding their foothold in the U.S. market, especially in a crucial sector such as lithium-ion battery manufacturing,” the chair and the ranking member of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wrote in their Wednesday letter to the Treasury, saying that the United States is trying to “reduce the CCP’s chokehold over critical supply chains.” (Read more)

- Father God, we ask that You will give strategies to our Government to continue to limit the reach of Chinese intervention in our marketplace.

4. ‘It’s Not Going to Work’: Tuberville Rebukes Effort to Stifle Stand against Military Abortions - Washington Stand

As Senator Tommy Tuberville’s (R-Ala.) military promotions standoff with the White House over its abortion policy in the armed forces enters its eighth month, members of the senator’s own party are beginning to grumble that his refusal to relent is hurting military readiness. But Tuberville stood his ground during an interview Monday, making it clear that the ball is in the Biden administration’s court to reverse course.

Since February, Tuberville has refused to allow unanimous consent in the Senate on approving military promotions, which now amounts to roughly 300 individuals. His action is in response to the Biden administration’s executive action that same month that granted 21 days of paid leave for a servicemember to obtain an abortion, at taxpayer expense, which observers say is a violation of federal law that prohibits taxpayer-funded abortions in the military.

During CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) claimed that Tuberville’s actions are “paralyzing our Department of Defense.” Later on the same program, former South Carolina governor and presidential candidate Nikki Haley said Tuberville is “using military families as political pawns.”

On Monday’s edition of “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins,” the former college football coach noted that there is a lot of confusion surrounding his actions that has been spurred on by the legacy media and Democrats, but argued that the situation is actually simple. (Read more)

5. DHS Awards Anti-Terror Grant for LGBTQ Group to Indoctrinate 6-Year-Olds - Daily Signal

The Department of Homeland Security has awarded an anti-terrorism grant to an LGBTQ activist group for it to expand its “in-school support for LGBTQ+ youth” as young as age 6. (Photo Illustration: FluxFactory/Getty Images)

The Biden administration has awarded an anti-terrorism grant worth more than half-a-million dollars to an LGBTQ activist group, which distributes condoms and “sex education” material, to expand its “in-school support for LGBTQ+ youth” as young as age 6.

The manifesto of its school-based group—which is based on the Black Panthers—calls for the “abolition” of the police, the erasure of the U.S. border, and the “reclamation” of all “stolen lands” by Indigenous people.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security announced that the Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League had received a $530,000 Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention grant late last week.

Although the grant is intended “to prevent targeted violence and terrorism,” the grant synopsis explains that the SMYAL “will provide in-school support for LGBTQ+ youth, training for school staff and youth service providers, [and] resilience programming for LGBTQ+ youth ages 6-24.”

The grant will address both “the risk of violence and negative mental health outcomes faced by LGBTQ+ youth” in Washington, D.C., and nearby Montgomery County, Maryland. (Read more)

6. Concerns about LGBT books promoting pedophilia, grooming prompt 4 states to sever ties with American Library Association- Christian Post

From LGBT-themed books on the shelf to the promotion of Marxism, various concerns have arisen at public libraries throughout the country, prompting some states to sever ties with the American Library Association. The organization opposes the banning of books, including those that some parents deem harmful because they promote pedophilia and sexual experimentation at a young age.

The library group reported last year a rise in efforts to ban certain books, including Maia Kobabe’s Gender Queer and Jonathan Evison’s Lawn Boy, which contain graphic sexual content and promote pedophilia. The ALA has spoken out against efforts to ban these and other books, contending that it would silence marginalized or historically underrepresented voices.

As The Associated Press reported, following the association’s defense of materials many parents find objectionable, several state libraries have decided to leave the ALA, and others could follow suit. Some libraries, however, have chosen to withdraw due to controversies involving ALA's leadership.

Here's a list of four states that have cut ties with the ALA amid concerns about the types of books being promoted to school-aged children: Montana, Texas, Wyoming, Missouri. (Read more)

7. Whistleblower says CIA officials were paid to change view that COVID originated in Wuhan lab - Just the News

The allegations, which stemmed from a "seemingly credible source" require Congress to investigate how the CIA handled its investigation of COVID's origins, according to the lawmakers.

Most officers on the CIA's COVID Discovery Team concluded that the coronavirus originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, but they changed their positions after receiving a monetary incentive, a senior-level CIA agent told Congress.

The whistleblower informed Coronavirus Pandemic Subcommittee Chairman Rep. Brad Wenstrup and Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Mike Turner that at the end of the CIA's COVID review, "six of the seven members of the Team believed the intelligence and science were sufficient to make a low confidence assessment that COVID-19 originated from a laboratory in Wuhan, China," the Ohio Republicans wrote in a letter Tuesday to CIA Director William Burns.

The team's seventh member, who was the most senior person, was the only person to believe that the virus originated from an animal, the lawmakers also said.

"The whistleblower further contends that to come to the eventual public determination of uncertainty, the other six members were given a significant monetary incentive to change their position," the chairmen wrote. (Read more)

8. Israel intercepts 16 tons of chemicals used in rocket fuel headed to Gaza from Turkey - Times of Israel

Israel foiled an attempt to smuggle 16 tons of chemicals that could be used to manufacture rocket fuel hidden in a shipment from Turkey headed to the Gaza Strip, customs authorities announced Thursday.

Among the containers that arrived at Ashdod port in July were some containing 54 tons of plaster for construction in Gaza.

In those containers, inspectors found 16 tons of ammonium chloride, a dual-use chemical that Israel bars from Gaza due to its potential to be used to construct rockets, the Customs Directorate said. (Read more)

9. Air Force stages major drill in Greece practicing potential long-range strike on Iran - Times of Israel

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) staged a major long-range strike drill in Greece this week, the latest in a series of drills aimed at preparing the military for a potential strike on Iran and its nuclear facilities.

The Israeli military said Thursday that the joint two-day-long drill with the Hellenic Air Force included long-range flights, aerial refueling, low-altitude flights and the use of live fire.

During the drill, dozens of IAF fighter jets, as well as spy planes and refueling aircraft, flew thousands of kilometers from Israel to Greece and back, the Israel Defense Forces said. (Read more)

- We pray over these drills. Strengthen the Israeli military for any encounters with Iran. Give wisdom and success on these joint exercises.

Judge Halts New York Attorney General's Fraud Trial Against Trump

A New York appeals court judge halted the scheduled Oct. 2 trial in New York Attorney General Letitia James' fraud lawsuit against former President Donald Trump and the Trump Organization, a spokesman for the court confirmed Thursday.

State Justice David Friedman, with the 1st Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, granted an interim stay of the trial—slated to start Oct. 2—and referred the matter to a five-judge panel, which expects to rule in the last week of September, a spokesperson said. He also ordered the full appeals court to consider a reported lawsuit that President Trump had filed against the trial judge, Arthur Engoron, on an expedited basis.

President Trump’s lawyers had raised issue with Judge Engoron's refusal to grant a request for a three-week trial delay, which he said (pdf) was "completely without merit." They also asked the judge to pause the trial until he issues a ruling on the statute of limitations regarding certain claims in Ms. James's lawsuit, it was reported.
First reported by the Daily Beast, the lawsuit against Judge Engoron also asserted that the jurist is overstepping his authority. A state appellate court issued a ruling several months ago that asked the judge to determine which Trump Organization real estate deals are too old and beyond the statue of limitations.

The judge declined to issue a comment on the matter via a court spokesperson. Meanwhile, Ms. James' office issued a statement on Thursday ruling, telling multiple news organizations that "we are confident in our case and will be ready for trial." (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

King of Kings, we decree victory for President Trump in every matter.  We bind and rebuke all harassing, threats and accusations against him in Jesus name and we loose the Spirit of God upon every lawsuit, every judge, every attorney; may they each stand or fall in the presence of Your holy righteousness.  We pray for a restoration of integrity and honor upon the entire judicial system of this nation, in Jesus name.  We ask You, O King, to defend President Trump and bring him completely under Your authority, that he is aligned with Your plans and purposes, in Jesus name.  Amen.

- "'Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding; Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to commit iniquity.  For He repays man according to his work, And makes man to find a reward according to his way.'"    (Job 34:10-11)

And Now . . . Lion of Judah: ROAR!!!!

He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

Lee turns deadly as powerful storm bombards
Maine, Nova Scotia
The once Category 5 hurricane slammed into Nova Scotia on Saturday, the latest in a series of extreme weather events to hit the Canadian province this year.

The ferocity of Lee was unleashed on New England and the Canadian Maritimes over the weekend, ending the nearly two-week journey of the most powerful storm of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season.

The monstrous storm cut power to more than 280,000 electric customers across MaineNova Scotia and New Brunswick as it roared ashore on Saturday afternoon. In doing so, Lee became the third named storm to make landfall in North America this hurricane season, following Tropical Storm Harold, which made landfall in southern Texas in mid-August, and Hurricane Idalia, which slammed into western Florida at the end of August.

At least one fatality has been confirmed in connection with the storm after a large tree limb fell on a motorist in Searsport, Maine, amid high winds, according to The Associated Press.

California to Pay $192K to Settle Pro-Life Group's Free Speech Lawsuit
California state officials have agreed to settle a two-year-old lawsuit brought by Right to Life of Central California, agreeing to honor the group's free speech rights and pay $192,706 in attorneys' fees. Attorneys with the nonprofit religious rights law firm Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) represented the pro-life group in its free speech battle with the state. The ADF filed a lawsuit in October 2021 after Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed SB 742 into law making it illegal to approach a person within 30 feet of "a public way or on a sidewalk area" and "within 100 feet of the entrance or exit of a vaccination site and is seeking to enter or exit a vaccination site." A vaccination site was defined as the "physical location where vaccination services are provided, including, but not limited to, a hospital, physician's office, clinic, or any retail space or pop-up location made available for vaccination services." Any violation of the law was "punishable by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding six months, or by both that fine and imprisonment."

In the lawsuit, the ADF explained the law restricted Right to Life's ability to peaceably offer charitable services to women in need on the public sidewalk and street outside its own building—and even its own parking lot—because Right to Life is located next to a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic that administers the HPV vaccine. As part of the settlement, California officials agreed to not enforce the discriminatory parts of the law against Right to Life or any speaker. "Women facing unplanned pregnancies deserve to have full support and resources available to them when they choose life for their unborn children, yet the state of California unconstitutionally tried to silence the voices of those advocating on their behalf," ADF Senior Counsel Denise Harle said.  "This is a significant victory not only for our client, Right to Life, but for every other speaker in California," she noted. "The First Amendment protects every Californian, regardless of their viewpoint. Now Right to Life's staff and volunteers can continue their critical mission of serving vulnerable women in the central California region with their free, life-giving services." In a statement, the California Family Council called the settlement, a victory for "all Californians." (CBN) Read more

We give You all the GLORY for Your unwavering Favor that will fall upon every Pregnancy Center and we declare that the innocent unborn will be protected in the womb!-In Jesus mighty Name-Amen

Scripture: Thinking He was the gardener, she said, Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have put Him, and I will get Him. John 20:15

Lyrics:
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.

Refrain
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

Refrain

I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

Refrain
