Iranian president says Tehran will pursue membership in Russia-China bloc

TEHRAN — Iran intends to pursue membership of a Chinese and Russian-led bloc that is meeting in Uzbekistan this week, President Ebrahim Raisi said Wednesday as he prepared to head to the summit.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) — made up of China, Russia, India, Pakistan and four ex-Soviet Central Asian countries — was set up in 2001 as a political, economic and security organization to rival Western institutions.
The summit set for Thursday and Friday in the Uzbek city of Samarkand is the first entirely face-to-face leaders’ meeting since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
“One of the important acts of this summit will be the finalization of SCO (membership) documents and the legal process they will need to take in order to be signed by the foreign ministers of the member countries,” Raisi said.

- Father God, as Your watchmen on the wall, we are grateful to know that this event is now happening halfway around the world. As the "kings of the east" gather with their own plans in mind, we thank You that only Your plan for these nations will prosper. Come, Lord Jesus! Have Your way in the lives of these nations and these leaders, and may multitudes come to know You as their Savior and their Lord. Amen.

GOP Leaders Past and Present Call on Senate to Safeguard Same-Sex Marriage

GOP Leaders Past and Present Call on Senate to Safeguard Same-Sex Marriage
|
|
“More than 400 Republicans leaders from across the country, including current and former GOP lawmakers from every level of government spanning the last two decades, are calling on the Senate to pass legislation that enshrines same-sex marriage protections. ‘We call on the U.S. Senate to pass the Respect for Marriage Act and reaffirm that marriage for gay and lesbian couples is settled law,’ the letter reads.” read more at U.S. News
THINK.
Why are so many Republicans and self-proclaimed conservatives standing in opposition to traditional marriage by supporting this bill, HR 8404? Reading the signed letter, it appears there are two main reasons: (1) They believe in a different version of conservatism. (2) They believe it is politically advantageous. The letter states that “we believe strong families and lasting relationships strengthen communities…” but they forget that it is a family with a committed, loving, mom and dad that truly fosters an environment where children flourish, and communities thrive. This is self-evident and backed up even by secular studies.
A biblical position would seek to conserve such basic principles of reality. Ironically, the signers of the letter do believe in some boundaries regarding the definition of marriage. When they say, “civil marriage is a fundamental freedom central to individual liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” I doubt their definition of marriage would include adult/child or polyamorous relationships. What will stop other groups from claiming that their “fundamental freedom” is being infringed because their relationships are not called “marriage”? The letter also reveals that many Republicans believe it is politically smart to vote for this bill. “We stand with the 71 percent of Americans today, including a majority of registered Republicans, who support the freedom to marry for all-Americans.”
According to U.S. News, fifty-five percent of registered Republicans support same-sex marriage. But how many truly know how this bill threatens our freedoms, particularly religious liberty? Leaders of many prominent, pro-family and traditional values organizations wrote their own letter to Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, stating their reasons for opposing the bill. I encourage you to read the letter in its entirety so you will know the dangerous implications, particularly for people of faith. “The truth is, while H.R. 8404 does nothing to change the status of, or benefits afforded to, same-sex marriage in light of Obergefell, it does much to endanger people of faith,” they state.
There is no provision for a religious exemption in the Act, revealing that its goal is not, “You live your life, I’ll live mine,” as one GOP candidate has reasoned. The damage to religious liberty includes potential loss of tax-exempt status for some 501(c)(3) organizations who continue to hold to their belief that marriage is the union of one man and one woman only. It would also open up anyone acting “under color of state law” to lawsuits for their belief about marriage. This goes beyond the scope of state employees to potentially include faith-based organizations partnering with the government in social services. In short, they warn, “anyone who supports this measure is crossing a line into aiding and abetting the persecution of people of faith.” Sometimes, politicians will do the right thing simply because it is right. Most of the time, however, they will do what is in their political interest. Therefore, we need to make it politically advantageous for them to do the right thing. That requires our voices and our votes. If our Senators only hear from the hundreds of businesses as well as others telling them to vote for this bill, what are they more likely to do? See the ACT section for how you can make your voice heard right now.
The vote is expected early next week.

|
- Father God, we raise up a FIREWALL against H.R. 8404, and we decree this bill to be NULL and VOID in the Halls of Congress, as it violates Your Law, in Jesus Name. Amen and amen!
- ‘This far you may come, but no farther,
And here your proud waves must stop!’

DOJ Supports One of Trump’s Nominees for Special Master
|
|
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has agreed to one of the special master nominees proposed by former President Donald Trump’s legal team to review documents seized by FBI agents from Mar-a-Lago.
In a four-page court filing (pdf) on Monday evening, the Justice Department said that Trump nominee Raymond J. Dearie would be an acceptable choice for an independent arbiter of the seized documents. The DOJ also named their two preferred nominees Barbara Jones and Thomas Griffith.
The DOJ said the three candidates met the “important qualifications for this position” given their “previous judicial experience and engagement in relevant areas of law.”
“Judges Jones, Griffith, and Dearie each have substantial judicial experience, during which they have presided over federal criminal and civil cases, including federal cases involving national security and privilege concerns,” the filing says. (Epoch Times) Read more here.

1. UN secretary-general reveals whether end of war is near after call with Putin - CNN
After speaking to with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday by phone, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said he doesn’t believe there will be peace between Russia and Ukraine anytime soon, according to a report by CNN.
“We are far away from the end of the war,” Guterres told reporters following the call.
“A ceasefire is not in sight,” he added. “I would be lying if I said it would happen.”
CNN reports:
The diplomat said he discussed a variety of issues with Putin including the grain deal and the possibility of Russian exports, but cautioned there are obstacles to the export of Russian food and fertilizers. “We are risking the lack of food in the world later this year.”
The two also discussed prisoners of war and Guterres quoted Putin as saying there would be no obstacles from Russia with regards to the panel conducting a fact-finding mission into last month’s prison attack in the Russian-occupied region of Eastern Ukraine. Dozens were killed. (Read more)

2. Ukrainian astronomers claim UFOs ‘everywhere’ over Kyiv - The New York Post
Ukrainian astronomers say the skies over their war-torn country are crowded not only with Russian missiles, but a large number of UFOs. The surprising claims were outlined in a new research paper published by the Main Astronomical Observatory of Ukraine’s National Academy of Science.
The paper, titled “Unidentified area phenomena I. Observations of events,” claims that researchers have detected numerous UFOs from two meteor observation stations in Kyiv and the village of Vinarivka, about 75 miles outside the capital.
“We see them everywhere. We observe a significant number of objects whose nature
is not clear,” the authors of the paper write. “Flights of single, group and squadrons of the ships were detected, moving at speeds from 3 to 15 degrees per second.”
The main characteristic of the UFOs observed by Kyiv’s astronomers is their extremely high speed, which can only be detected with specialized equipment. (Read more)

3. My Pillow CEO Lindell says FBI surrounded car, seized phone during his return from hunting trip - Just The News
Trump supporter and My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell says the FBI seized his phone Tuesday afternoon while he was at a Hardee's restaurant drive-thru in Minnesota while returning from a hunting trip.
Lindell made the claim later that night on a livestream, saying the vehicle in which he was traveling with a hunting buddy was surrounded by several cars, then an FBI agent exited one of them and said he had a warrant for the phone and wanted it.
Lindell said he conferred with his lawyer who told him to surrender the phone, off of which Lindell says his hearing aids run and on which he runs his businesses.
"I run five companies off that," he said, according to the Daily Wire. "I don’t have a computer. My hearing aids run off this. Everything runs off my phone." (Read more)

5. Justices Kagan, Gorsuch hint Supreme Court leak update could come by end of September - Fox News
Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan and Neil Gorsuch have hinted that there could be an update as soon as the end of the month on the investigation into the leaked draft opinion overturning Roe v. Wade.
Kagan made an appearance Tuesday at the Temple Emanu-El's Streicker Center in New York and said she expects justices to be updated on the investigation by the end of the month. Gorsuch also mentioned the leak inquiry last week, saying the committee overseeing the investigation has been hard at work, and he hopes to see it conclude "soon."
"I don’t know anything. I suspect my colleagues don’t know anything, except for the chief justice maybe, about what the investigation has turned up, if anything," Justice Kagan said after saying she expects an update soon. Kagan went on to describe the leak as "shocking" and "horrible," CNN reported. (Read more)

6. Michigan Supreme Court clears abortion measure for November ballot - Washington Examiner
The Michigan Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a ballot measure on the state's abortion restrictions can be voted on in November.
The 5-2 ruling allows the Michigan Right to Reproductive Freedom initiative to appear on the ballot, which activists hope will boost Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's reelection bid by fueling Democratic enthusiasm. It failed to make the ballot during an Aug. 30 Michigan Board of State Canvassers vote that deadlocked 2-2 along party lines.
The measure, if it passes, would cement "the right to make and effectuate decisions about all matters relating to pregnancy, including but not limited to prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, contraception, sterilization, abortion care, miscarriage management, and infertility care" into the state constitution. The group that introduced it seeks to overturn a nearly century-old law that outlaws abortion in all cases except when the mother's life is at risk. (Read more)
- Dear Lord, Every life is valuable, precious, and created for a purpose. We pray the evil of abortion to be abolished, and in repentance, may every State boldly stand for life.

7. California abortion services website goes live - Just The News
On the same day GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham introduced a bill that would put a federal ban on abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy, California launched a new taxpayer-funded website to help pregnant residents and out-of-state travelers access abortion services in the state.
The launch Tuesday is the latests effort by Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom to fulfill his promise of making California a leading state in maintaining abortion access – after the Supreme Court in June struck down Roe v. Wade, the decades provide a constitutional right to abortion.
Since the 1973 landmark ruling was overturned, several other states have moved to tighten abortion restrictions.
The website, abortion.ca.gov, includes information about providers and ways to pay for an abortion and highlights the legal right to abortion under California law. (Read more)

8. Republicans Say 100K Troops Face Discharge over Biden Vaccine Mandate - Brietbart
Republican lawmakers, led by Reps. Mike Johnson (LA), Chip Roy (TX), and Thomas Massie (KY), are demanding answers about the effect of the vaccine mandate on military readiness in a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin first obtained by Breitbart News.
“The Biden Administration’s military vaccine mandate is clearly harming military readiness by creating unnecessary recruiting and retention shortfalls,” Johnson said in a statement.
“And now, after the Pentagon has tried, and failed, to make up the difference by reducing recruitment standards, over 100,000 active servicemembers—who taxpayers paid to train—face discharge during the worst recruiting year in our military’s history,” he said. (Read more)
- Lord God, this is such a tragedy, especially since over the past year we have learned that the vaccine does nothing to protect people from getting sick. People get sick no matter if they’ve been boosted, vaccinated, or not. And these kinds of demands are unethical and unconstitutional and we just pray Lord that your mighty right hand will rest on our military and rescue them from this unnecessary trial. In the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
- “Your right hand, O Lord, glorious in power, your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy.” (Exodus 15:16)

9. US indicts 3 Iranian nationals for multiple cyberattacks - FBI - Jerusalem Post
The FBI announced the indictment of three Iranian nationals for their part in multiple cyberattacks on hundreds of companies, organizations and institutions.
The three Iranian nationals that are being charged are Mansour Ahmadi, Ahmad Khatibi Aghda and Amir Hossein Nickaein Ravari. They were among a group of cybercriminals that were attacking critical infrastructures and public services that many people rely on. They were also attempting to steal information for their own personal gain, according to the FBI.
"They were looking to steal information, encrypt networks and sell private data, all in the hopes of persuading victims to pay sizeable ransoms," FBI Director Christopher Wray said in a statement. "In addition to targeting victims here in the US, the defendants also targeted companies and entities around the world, including in their own country of Iran, demonstrating that few targets were off-limits." Stupidocrisy: Bidenflation
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, September 14, 2022
He keeps saying it. And he keeps expecting people to believe it. Inflation is under control, he says. What planet is Joe Biden on? Have you been to the grocery store lately? Have you filled up your car with gas? Oh yes, gas prices are down a little, but food prices continue to soar. And Mr. Bidenflation continues say it’s all good. On Tuesday, Biden brought in the big guns to celebrate the Inflation Reduction Act. Yep, James Taylor sang some songs on the South Lawn of the White House and Jill Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, Charles Schumer and Joe Manchin joined Joe in hopes that their appearance will give Americans confidence that we can declare inflation over with, kind of like how COVID disappeared.
Biden gushed about the Inflation Reduction Act, saying “I said it then and I’ll keep saying it: With this law, the American people won and special interest lost. Say it again: The American people won and special interest lost…After all, this bill cut costs for families, helped reduce inflation at the kitchen table, because that’s what they look at — how much are their monthly bills and how much do they have to pay out for their necessities. And it gave them just a little more breathing room, as my dad would say…This bill alone is going to lower the deficit by $300 billion over the next decade.” In fact, reputable think tanks, including the prestigious Wharton-Penn Budget model, predict it will have zero impact on inflation, after raising inflation initially. And a $300 billion reduction in the deficit is hardly something to celebrate against $31 Trillion in debt. Read More

Stop the globalist-communist WHO power-grab
By Frank Gaffney
|
|
|
This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.
The World Health Organization is preparing to spring on us, not one, but two, different initiatives aimed at enormously expanding the power of that deeply problematic international agency. It just went through the motions of asking for public comments. Here are the gist of mine:
Given the WHO’s record of doing the Chinese Communist Party’s bidding by insisting on ineffective masks, devastating lockdowns, inadequately tested and dangerous “vaccines” and mandate-enforcing passports, it would be utterly insane to increase that agency’s authority – specifically to tell us what is a “public health crisis of international concern” and how we must respond.
A million of us have perished already. Must more needlessly die?
The American people and their representatives in the U.S. Senate must oppose any such surrender of our national sovereignty and/or further compromise of American public health. The WHO should not go there. And we certainly must not.
This is Frank Gaffney.

A November Warning
by Gary Bauer
|
|
|
While the conventional wisdom suggests that Democrats have the momentum going into the final weeks of the 2022 midterm elections, the New York Times is warning liberals against putting too much faith in the polls as they tend to overstate Democrat strength.
For example, polls predicted Joe Biden would win Florida by two points in 2020. He lost by three. An ABC News poll had Biden winning Wisconsin by 17 points. He barely won it by less than one point.
There are various theories about why some polls have been so wrong. One explanation is that conservatives don’t trust media pollsters and they refuse to participate. As a result, the samples don’t reflect the actual electorate.
I think there’s something else at work. Polls continue to underestimate the turnout in rural areas, where conservatives like Donald Trump and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin often overperform.
There’s also a warning for conservatives going forward.
Many conservatives have serious concerns about the integrity of the last election. But if they allow that to discourage them from voting, then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy guaranteeing their own defeat.
No matter where you stand – left, right or center – we all have a civic responsibility to vote. It is a right guaranteed by the hard-won sacrifices of previous generations. Every legal citizen should vote in every election.
But you can’t vote unless you are registered to vote, and voter registration deadlines are fast approaching. Please, make sure you and all your friends and family members are registered to vote.

Drought uncovers flooded Old West ghost town
after more than 50 years
|
|
Once the inspiration and setting for many classic Westerns, this old mining town now sees the light of day, sharing its old stories with visitors once more.
Old Kernville is a town that appears to be taken right out of a Western movie -- because it was, serving as the backdrop for many classics, featuring the likes of John Wayne, Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy and more. While all of the Hollywood glamour has long since left the town, one might not ever guess that it was once completely underwater and has now resurfaced.
"There were people here. There was life here. It survived explorers, massacres, gold rushes, massive floods and tourism," the Sierra Nevada Business Council wrote on its website. "But it could not survive progress and now sits in silence with very little to let one know that it was even here."
About 35 miles northeast of Bakersfield, California, Old Kernville used to be a thriving community. Previously named Whiskey Flat due to a saloon of the same name, the town sprung up toward the end of the Gold Rush in 1860. It sat in the hills of Lake Isabella and the Kern River, the latter being where it got its new name following a massacre of the local indigenous tribes in 1863, when about 70 settlers killed about 200 Native Americans and exiled hundreds more, according to SFGATE. 'Amazing Miracles' Taking Place in Prisons as 'God Behind Bars' Baptizes More than 450 Inmates
|
|
A national prison ministry has seen more than 450 inmates baptized after giving their lives to Christ this year. God Behind Bars says "Jesus is moving in POWER!" after the number of inmates accepting salvation has more than quadrupled since 2021."In comparison, last year, only 90 were baptized," the organization wrote on Facebook. "The gospel is spreading like we have never seen in prisons. Jesus is moving in POWER! Many prisons were shut down last year but this verse has been our promise... 'You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives - Gen 50:20'".
Since 2009, God Behind Bars has worked to restore the lives of inmates, by building their faith, during incarceration and after their release."We create satellite campuses in prisons and our whole mission is to introduce inmates to Jesus," Isaac Holt, Director of Innovation for God Behind Bars, told CBN News. "There are 3.1 million inmates every day across the nation and that's a huge group of people. We believe we can reach almost all of them," he shared. As CBN News has reported, God Behind Bars has created the first Christian app available for prisoners that streams sermons, worship music, and God's Word. "The Pando app streams...right now to 550,000 inmates," Holt explained.
The group also partners with churches around the country, and one Tennessee church reported that 51 inmates dedicated their lives to Jesus in just the past week. Lisa Cole, a campus pastor with Faith Promise in the east Tennessee area, works closely with God Behind Bars in Morgan County Correctional Complex, Bledsoe County Correctional Complex, and Bledsoe County Women's Unit. "We share the Gospel every single week, but our thing is it's not about just sharing the Gospel and accepting salvation, it's 'what's your next step?'" she explained. (Read More and see pictures)

- "On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords." (Revelation 19:16)

He Keeps Me Singing

Words and Music: Luther Bridgers
Scripture: He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Psalm 40:3
Lyrics:
There’s within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still,
In all of life’s ebb and flow.
Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest name I know,
Fills my every longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.
All my life was wrecked
By sin and strife,
Discord filled my heart with pain,
Jesus swept across the broken strings,
Stirred the slumbering chords again.
Refrain
Feasting on the riches of His grace,
Resting ’neath His sheltering wing,
Always looking on His smiling face,
That is why I shout and sing.
Refrain
Though sometimes He leads
Through waters deep,
Trials fall across the way,
Though sometimes the path
Seems rough and steep,
See His footprints all the way.
Refrain
Soon He’s coming back
To welcome me,
Far beyond the starry sky;
I shall wing my flight
To worlds unknown,
I shall reign with Him on high.
