Lineman From Iowa Working To Restore Power In North Carolina Finds Handwritten Thank You Note On Bucket Truck
Lee Tyler is one of 70 MidAmerican Energy utility workers dispatched to Western North Carolina to help the region rebuild from the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. The veteran lineman from Le Mars, Iowa, has worked for MidAmerican Energy nearly 20 years. Tyler told Radio Iowa this week that his crew is currently living out of tents and working 16-hour days to restore power to the Spindale area. “As long as there’s sunlight, we’re out working,” he said. “They’ve got breakfast for us back at the show-up area, and they do have trailers with bunks in it, but a lot of guys are just sleeping out in the trucks because the weather’s so nice out right now.”

And while the money is certainly good, Tyler said it’s about more than that. It’s about helping people get a vital piece of normalcy back. “Just the fact that we’re getting power back on to all these people that have been without power for so long, and it disrupts their lives, not being able to have the power that they normally have during the day to do their daily activities,” he told the outlet, “and everybody’s so thrilled and excited when everything comes back on.” Thanks aren’t required, but they certainly make the job more bearable. So Tyler was understandably moved when he found a handwritten thank you note—along with a heart and a smiley face—taped to his bucket truck one morning. (Southernliving) Read More Here.

- Abba we thank You for stories of encouragement for utility workers and volunteers helping around the clock for hurricane areas still in need. May heartfelt expressions of love and gratefulness from locals provide supernatural strength, stamina and blessing to all who have traveled into devastated areas. We thank You for the resilience of American citizens and ask Your Holy Spirit to empower our nation towards unity and honoring one-another as we serve in brotherly-love! In Jesus powerful Name-Amen.

- "Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other." (Romans 12:10)

5 Highlights From Trump’s Madison Square Garden Speech
Tens of thousands of supporters attended rally at ‘The World’s Most Famous Arena’ in Manhattan.

Former President Donald Trump delivered a campaign speech at New York City’s Madison Square Garden for the first time in his political career on Sunday.

Speaking before tens of thousands of supporters, Trump covered a range of topics, promising to end inflation, secure the southern border, and end the wars in Ukraine and in the Middle East, among other issues.

While most of the speech traversed themes Trump has invoked dozens of times, several highlights stood out.

- Holy King, we thank You for the creative strategies that President Trump and his team are presenting to this nation and we bind the schemes of those who would try and usurp these ideas for themselves and their agenda, in Jesus name.  We also pray for every advisor to President Trump to be trustworthy and honorable and that anyone with bad intentions against our nation would be identified clearly and removed from their position immediately, in Jesus name.  We repudiate every media outlet that is accusing President Trump of false and wholly inflammatory rhetoric, in Jesus name and continue to pray for his protection and victory in this race.

- "'Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,' says the Lord; 'and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,' says the Lord, 'and work, for I am with you,' says the Lord of hosts."  (Haggai 2:4)

Iran said to be fearful after Israel hits missile program, air defenses
The Israeli attacks may have "significantly hampered Iran's ability to mass produce missiles."

Israel’s aerial offensive inside Iran overnight Friday caused severe damage to Tehran’s ballistic missile program, according to analyses of satellite imagery.

Dubbed by Jerusalem “Operation Days of Repentance,” the strikes were in response to Iran firing a barrage of some 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on Oct. 1. Some 100 Israeli fighter jets, spy planes and refueling aircraft flew across the Middle East on Friday night to attack 20 missile and drone facilities across Iran in three waves.

The Israeli strikes may have “significantly hampered Iran’s ability to mass produce missiles,” Decker Eveleth, an associate research analyst at CNA, a nonprofit research and analysis organization based in Washington, told Reuters after examining the satellite photos.

The news agency also cited David Albright, a former U.N. weapons inspector. (JNS.org) Read more here.

- Thank You Father that You have enabled Israel to stand strong and powerful against an overwhelming flood of adversaries around the perimeter of their land.  We praise You for this terrific strike against the heart of Iran's conventional military weapons sites and give thanks that every IDF fighter returned to base safe and sound, in Jesus name.  We pray for the leadership of Iran to be more respectful and tempered in their plans to harm others in the future, because it has been shown the strength and might held by Israel.

- "'And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall; And they will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you; For I am with you to save you And deliver you,' says the Lord.  'I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked, And I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible.'"  (Jeremiah 15:20-21)

Iran's Khamenei seriously ill, son likely to be successor as supreme leader - NYT
Khamenei has served as Supreme Leader since 1989 since the death of Ruhollah Khomeini, the first to hold the title.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, aged 85, is reportedly seriously ill, with his second oldest son, Mojtaba Khamenei, likely to succeed him when he dies, a Saturday New York Times report disclosed.

The report noted that Khamenei's serious medical condition created a "quiet battle" over his succession. It also stated that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps would have a say in who would become the Ayatollah's successor.

Concern grew over Khamenei's successor after former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was killed in a helicopter crash last May.

Khamenei has served as Supreme Leader since 1989, when Ruhollah Khomeini, the first to hold the title, died.

Report comes after Israel's response to Iran's ballistic missile attack

The Times report came shortly after Israel responded to Iran's ballistic missile attack at the beginning of the month by striking numerous military sites early Saturday morning.

Iranian officials have said that they do not want escalation with Israel, the Times report added.

While attacking military targets in Iran, reports said that Israel had also attacked targets in Iraq and Syria. (Jerusalem Post) Read more here.

- Mighty God, we pray for Iran (Persia) to come under Your righteous authority, in Jesus name. We call for a full halt to their plans to gain nuclear weapons to use aggressively against other sovereign, independent nations, in Jesus name.   We call for Khamenei to have dreams and visions about the Man in White and know His name as Savior and King. May this nation be led out of darkness into the glorious light of Almighty God, in Jesus' name.

- "Who is wise?  Let him understand these things.  Who is prudent? Let him know them.  For the ways of the Lord are right; The righteous walk in them, But transgressors stumble in them."  (Hosea 14:9)

Taiwan reports Chinese 'combat patrol' after Beijing slams US arms deal
TAIPEI/BEIJING, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Taiwan's defence ministry said on Sunday that Chinese warplanes and warships had carried out another "combat patrol" near the island, after Beijing threatened to take countermeasures in response to a $2 billion arms sale package by the United States.
The United States is bound by law to provide Chinese-claimed Taiwan with the means to defend itself despite the lack of formal diplomatic ties, to the constant anger of Beijing.
The Pentagon said on Friday the United States had approved a potential $2 billion arms sale package to Taiwan, including the delivery for the first time to the island of an advanced air defence missile system battle-tested in Ukraine.
Taiwan's defence ministry said it had detected 19 Chinese military aircraft, including Su-30 fighter jets, carrying out a "joint combat readiness patrol" around Taiwan in conjunction with Chinese warships starting on Sunday morning.
It said the Chinese aircraft flew in airspace to the north, centre, southwest and east of Taiwan, and that Taiwanese forces were dispatched to keep watch.
China's defence ministry did not answer calls seeking comment outside normal office hours.
China stages such patrols around Taiwan several times a month, but this was the first since Beijing held a new round of full-blown war games near the island this month.
In a statement late on Saturday, China's foreign ministry said it strongly condemned and firmly opposed the latest U.S. weapons sales and had lodged "solemn representations" with Washington.
China urges the United States to immediately stop arming Taiwan and stop its dangerous moves that undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, it added.
"China will take resolute countermeasures and take all measures necessary to firmly defend national sovereignty, security and territorial integrity," the ministry said, without elaborating. (Reuters) Read more here.

- Mighty God we thank You that the Biden Administration has seen fit to continue providing military and defensive materiel for Taiwan to stand in the face of China's persistent push against them.  May there be a peaceful resolution to this tension, which would require China to back down, so we pray Father that You would cause China to stand down from their harassing of the sovereignly governed nation of Taiwan, in Jesus name.  We pray for the Spirit of God to hover so close to the people of this nation, so there would be a huge revival hitting this nation, that would spill over to China, Hong Kong and other nearby countries, in Jesus name.

- "But everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, And no one shall make them afraid; For the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken.  For all people walk each in the name of his god, But we will walk in the name of the Lord our God Forever and ever." (Micah 4:4-5)
FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. PM ‘not certain’ negotiations can progress as Mossad chief returns from Qatar talks - Times of Israel

Mossad chief David Barnea returned to Israel on Monday from his 24-hour trip to Qatar to discuss proposals for a hostage and ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu projected pessimism over the restarted negotiations.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Barnea, CIA chief Bill Burns, and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed “a new unified proposal that combines previous proposals and also takes into account the main issues and recent developments in the region,” during their meetings in Doha.

The phrase “recent developments” is taken to refer to the killing earlier this month of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of the terror group’s October 7 invasion and massacre in southern Israel. Sinwar was widely considered to be the main obstacle to productive talks between Israel and Hamas, though it remains to be seen whether negotiations can succeed in the wake of his death. (Read more)

2. Israel passes landmark law ending UNRWA activities - i24 News

In a historic move, the Knesset has voted to ban all activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) on Israeli territory.

The legislation, passed in its final reading on Monday, was spearheaded by MK Boaz Bismuth, who emphasized that “UNRWA is not a refugee aid agency; it is a Hamas aid agency.”

Bismuth cited the involvement of UNRWA employees in the October 7 attacks, referencing “chilling images” of Jonathan Smarno, who was held hostage by an individual identified as a “social worker” for the agency. This decisive action reflects Israel's determination to sever ties with an organization accused of enabling terrorism, despite facing international pressure to reconsider the bill. (Read more)

3. Israel first attacked radar detection systems to weaken Iran’s ability to intercept strikes - World Israel News

Before Israel launched its retaliatory strike against Iran on Saturday, the IAF carried out a mission to deactivate radar systems to prevent Iran from intercepting strikes, KAN reported on Monday.

During Israel’s strike, it was apparent that radar detection within Iran’s defense system was damaged and screens froze.

With the deactivation of radar systems, the IAF was able to penetrate airspace more deeply since Iran’s ability to respond was greatly impaired. (Read more)

4. Israel Wants More Peace Deals With Arab Countries After War, Netanyahu Says - Algemeiner

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday he hopes to reach peace deals with more Arab countries once the war against Iranian terrorist proxies Hamas and Hezbollah is complete.

“The day after Hamas no longer controls Gaza and Hezbollah no longer sits on our northern border [in Lebanon], we are working these days on plans to stabilize those two fronts. But the day after includes something else of utmost importance,” Netanyahu said in a speech to parliament.

“I aspire to continue the process I led a few years ago of the signing of the historic Abraham Accords, and achieve peace with more Arab countries,” he said.

Israel, under the US-brokered 2020 accords, normalized relations with four Arab countries: the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan. (Read more)

5. IDF launches fresh strikes on Tyre as Hezbollah rockets rain down on north - Times of Israel

Israeli airstrikes hit the southern Lebanese city of Tyre on Monday after the IDF called for residents in large swaths of the ancient coastal city to evacuate, while Hezbollah rockets continued to rain down across northern Israel.

The IDF said following the strikes that the Hezbollah targets in Tyre included weapons depots, buildings used by the terror group, and observation posts belonging to various of its units.

“The Hezbollah terror organization advanced terror activities against Israeli citizens and IDF troops from these compounds,” the military said. It said Tyre is a major Hezbollah stronghold, especially for the terror group’s Aziz regional unit, from which it plans attacks on Israel. (Read more

Stop telling the American people they don't deserve to have smaller hospital wait times. Stop telling the American people they're bad for wanting a secure southern border." Read more

More than 100 U.S. Members of Congress members warned UN Sec.-Gen. António Guterres that Washington would cut funding to the United Nations if the international organization decided to downgrade the status of the State of Israel.

The bipartisan initiative, which was led by lawmakers Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) and Mike Lawler (R-NY), stressed that Congress would oppose UN actions "aimed to delegitimize Israel's right to self-defense."

"We have concluded that the UN is not a neutral party, but one that has definitively taken sides against Israel. We remind you that the US is the largest donor to the UN," the lawyers wrote in the joint letter to Guterres. (Read more)

A former Vatican leader who was excommunicated earlier this year has urged Catholics to back former President Trump, arguing that Vice President Harris will build the "most ferocious dictatorship" if elected.

Former Roman Catholic Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, who previously served as the Vatican’s ambassador to the U.S., wrote in an open letter Tuesday to American Catholics that Trump is "the only possible choice" as "voting for Kamala Harris is morally inadmissible and constitutes a very grave sin."

"In this election you must choose between two radically opposed ways of conceiving the government of your Nation: you are called to choose between democracy and dictatorship, between freedom and slavery," Vigano wrote. (Read more)

The Glory Cloud and Living Water

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, October 28, 2024

Many try to predict the return of the Lord, which we are told by Jesus that only the Father knows. The Jewish holidays, however, inform our expectations. Sukkot and dwelling in a sukkah, for example, is a beautiful picture of God’s presence in the “Glory Cloud.” We are surrounded by His sukkah at all times, just as David prayed in Psalm 139:7, “Where can I flee from your presence?” And yet there is fulfillment yet to come when God will dwell—sukkah–with His people bodily! Jesus said of Himself in Matthew 24:30, “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, all the tribes of the Land will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with tremendous power and glory.”

This is the same “Glory Cloud” that followed the Israelites in the desert and will be the fulfillment of Sukkot at the end of days. Isn’t it interesting that many of the Jewish sages believe Messiah will come during Sukkot? In the meantime, we make a sukkah-dwelling place for the Lord–in our hearts. On the last day of Sukkot is Hoshanna Rabbah, or Simchat Bet Ha’Shoeivah, “Celebration of Water Drawing.” The High Priest would take a golden pitcher to the Pool of Siloam in a great procession back to the Temple and bringing some of the water to pour upon the altar. The Siloam Pool was located adjacent to the City of David, and was fed by the Gihon Spring located in the Kidron Valley. The naturally flowing water qualified it to be used as a mikveh for ritual bathing. This is where Jesus healed the blind man (John 9:1-11). Read More

Pennsylvania county says 2,500 voter registrations being investigated for possible fraud

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A criminal investigation is underway in the crucial presidential battleground of Pennsylvania after election workers in one county flagged about 2,500 voter registration forms for potential fraud. Two other counties were alerted to look for similar problems.

The forms arrived at the Lancaster County elections office shortly before the state’s deadline to register this past Monday and were apparently part of a larger effort to sign people up, officials said Friday. Some had false names, suspicious handwriting, questionable signatures, incorrect addresses or other problematic details.

Two other unnamed counties received similar applications and were notified to check into them, Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams said at a news conference. She said election workers “noticed that numerous applications” had similarities, but officials did not indicate the volume of suspicious applications or say how many applications had already been fully investigated.

“It appears to be an organized effort at this point,” said Adams, an elected Republican. “But of course, it’s an ongoing investigation. And we’ll be looking into who exactly participated in it and how far up it goes.” (AP) Read more here.

- Lord God we thank you for the great state of Pennsylvania and all you are doing for the people there. We come against all fraud claims right now in Jesus name and we declare that the leadership there would continue to implement your will and good plans you have for their state, always rejecting evil in Jesus name. Amen.

Former Dem Dov Hikind blasts Clinton, Harris for comparing Trump rally to Nazis: 'So freaking desperate'
Hikind served as a Democrat for 36 years in the New York State Assembly and later founded the group Americans Against Antisemitism

Americans Against Antisemitism founder Dov Hikind, a lifelong Democrat turned Republican, criticized Hillary Clinton and Vice President Kamala Harris for comparing former President Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden to a Nazi rally at the famous venue in the 1930s.

"My God, what the hell is wrong with these people," Hikind said in a video posted to X. "This desperation on the part of Hillary Clinton and Harris calling Donald Trump a facist."

"Madison Square Garden. Half the place is going to be Jews there to support Donald Trump," he added. "They are so freaking desperate and they are ready to destroy America."

Hikind noted that his mother was a holocaust survivor in the Auschwitz concentration camp and that most of her family were killed by the Nazis.

Clinton has linked the rally at MSG to the infamous Nazi rally that took place in the arena in 1939. The event was organized by the pro-Nazi German American Bund and was attended by thousands in the lead-up to World War II.

On Sunday, Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, echoed the same comparison.

"Donald Trump's got this big, rally going at Madison Square Garden. There's a direct parallel to a big rally that happened in the mid-1930s at Madison Square Garden. And don't think that he doesn't know for one second exactly what they're doing there," Walz said.

Hikind, a former New York state lawmaker from Brooklyn, said Trump has the support of many Jews.

"So much of the Jewish community committed to Israel is supporting Donald Trump," he said. "To compare him to Nazis, the event at Madison Square Garden. Shame on them. Shame."

Hikind served as a Democrat for decades before joining the Republican Party in 2023.

"Unfortunately, the Democratic Party has become so radicalized, so radical, run by the radicals, that people who are moderates or conservative Democrats are not welcomed in the Democratic Party," Hikind said in a video message announcing his switch.

"And I've had enough. The Democratic Party turns its back on its friends like Israel, the Biden administration right now in policy after policy. I'm just tired. I've had enough," he added. "It took a long long time but I am delighted to join the Republican Party."  (Fox News) Read more.

- Holy God, we stand with Dov Hikind who understands with clarity and insight who the Nazis really are and what cruel, evil they have perpetrated against mankind.  He is absolutely right in shaming Clinton, Harris, and the so-called mainstream media who are actively and aggressively perpetrating such incredible deceptions about President Trump's rally in Madison Square Gardens.  We abhor the false, slanderous, unspeakable accusations being made against President Trump right now, by these people who are desperate and losing control.  We pray for them to stand down in their dire efforts to defame President Trump and repent, in Jesus name.

- "He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me, For there were many against me.  God will hear, and afflict them, Even He who abides from of old.  Selah.  Because they do not change, Therefore they do not fear God."        (Psalm 55:18-19)
Report: Brace for ‘Unrest’ if Donald Trump Wins, Democrats Warn

Americans should prepare for “unrest’ if former President Donald Trump completes the greatest political comeback in modern American politics, Democrats told the Wall Street Journal on Monday.

The potential for Democrats to perpetrate political violence undermines their narrative that Republicans, and especially the America First movement, are a threat to democracy.

“I think there’ll be some violence. I think there’ll be workplace fights. There’ll be fights at kids’ birthday parties. I think they’ll be protests and will turn violent,” Mark Halperin recently told Tucker Carlson.

Resistance groups, according to the Journal’s Joshua Chaffin and Valerie Bauerlein, believe citizens should be “bracing for unrest” if Trump wins. (Breitbart) Read more here.

- Lord God, we plead the blood of Jesus over these words and we cast them down that they are canceled and have no effect and that they will not go out and influence the minds and hearts of the American public. Amen.

- “The words you have said will be used to judge you.” (Matthew 12:37)

Former President Donald Trump said Monday that America “needs religion,” likening it to “the glue that holds” the country together. Trump’s comment came during an interview with preacher Paula White at the National Faith Summit in Atlanta, Georgia.

2. USA Today Becomes Latest Publication to Snub Kamala Harris with Non-Endorsement - Breitbart

USA Today became the latest publication to snub Vice President Kamala Harris with a non-endorsement in the 2024 presidential election.

Lark-Marie Antón, a spokesperson for USA Today confirmed to the Daily Beast that the publication had decided not to endorse either Harris or former President Donald Trump in the presidential election, noting that the publication believes “America’s future is decided locally.”

The outlet’s decision to not endorse Harris comes years after it “broke tradition in urging” its readers not to vote for Trump in the 2016 presidential election, and went on to endorse President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, writing that it “unanimously supports the election of Joe Biden.” (Read more)

“Why are we doing this?” Anton said in a statement. “Because we believe America’s future is decided locally—one race at a time. The dedication ceremonies honored both the French and American people, as well as Statue of Liberty contributors, including renowned sculptor Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi.

Édouard René Lefèbvre de Laboulaye, often considered the "father of the Statue of Liberty" for thinking up the grand gesture, died in 1883 before the dedication.

More than 1 million people attended the day’s celebrations on and off Bedloe’s Island — now known as Liberty Island — including then-president Grover Cleveland, according to the NPS.

Festivities involved the first-ever ticker-tape parade in honor of the statue of "Liberty Enlightening the World," the NPS also noted.

Firefighters, soldiers and veterans marched down Broadway to the sounds of 100 brass bands, cannons and sirens. Read More

Thought for the Day
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)
A Special Message
The Sinner's Prayer
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."
