US Issues 1st Passport Listing Gender as 'X'
|
|
The United States has issued its first passport with an “X” gender designation and expects to be able to offer the option to nonbinary, intersex, and gender-nonconforming people early next year, the State Department said Wednesday.
Jessica Stern, the U.S. special diplomatic envoy for LGBTQ rights,said the moved bring the government documents in line with the “lived reality” that there is a wider spectrum of human sex characteristics than is reflected in the previous two designations.
“When a person obtains identity documents that reflect their true identity, they live with greater dignity and respect,” Stern said.
The department now also allows applicants to self-select their gender as male or female, no longer requiring them to provide medical certification if their gender did not match that listed on their other identification documents.
The United States joins a handful of countries, including Australia,, New Zealand, Nepal and Canada, in allowing its citizens to designate a gender other than male or female on their passports.
Stern said her office planned to talk about the U.S.′ experience with the change in its interactions around the world and she hopes that might help inspire other governments to offer the option.
“We see this as a way of affirming and uplifting the human rights of trans and intersex and gender-nonconforming and nonbinary people everywhere,” she said. (Newsmax) Read more.

1. Report: Iran fired at Israeli warplanes in Syria - Israel National News
Iranian forces fired at Israeli warplanes during a recent attack by the Israeli Air Force in Syria, defense officials said Monday.
The IDF released a statement denying 'rumors' that Israeli planes were attacked by Iranian forces.
Defense officials reported the incident as the IAF is hosting an international exercise with the participation of US British Indian Italian Norwegian Italian German and French airplanes in the Negev, the 'Blue Fire' exercise. (Read more)

2. Syrian organization claims Israel carried out strike in Quneitra - Israel National News
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an organization affiliated with the Syrian opposition, claimed on Sunday night that Israel carried out an air strike in the Quneitra region.
According to the organization, an Israeli plane attacked targets of the regime forces and their allies on the outskirts of the city of Baath and the village of Al-Krum in the area.
There were no reports of injuries, but damage was caused.
About ten days ago, media outlets in Syria reported that the country’s air defense systems were activated following air strikes which were attributed to Israel. (Read more)

3. Hacker group leaks data, photos from Defense Ministry, Benny Gantz - Jerusalem Post
A hacker group called Moses Staff claimed this week that it has successfully conducted a cyberattack on the Israeli Defense Ministry, releasing files and photos it claims it obtained from the ministry's servers.
Moses Staff's website claims that the group has hacked over 165 servers and 254 websites and compiled over 11 terabytes of data, including Israel Post, the Defense Ministry, files related to Defense Minister Benny Gantz, the Electron Csillag company and Epsilor company.
"We've kept an eye on you for many years, at every moment and on each step," wrote the group in the announcement of the attack on their Telegram channel on Sunday. "All your decisions and statements have been under our surveillance. Eventually, we will strike you while you never would have imagined." (Read more)

4. Law proposed for huge database on all air travelers to and from Israel - World Israel News
A law to construct one of Israel’s biggest databases ever based on airline data on travelers to and from the country is being promoted by government officials, Z’man Yisrael reported Sunday.
The bill, which the Justice Ministry said is only in its first stages of formulation, will force airlines to provide the government with far more than passengers’ names, dates of birth, credit card numbers, email and home addresses. It would also include the travelers’ full itinerary, including connecting flights, what duty-free products they bought on the plane and what luggage they checked in and carried on.
Other mandatory details that may seem completely incidental are the passengers’ seat numbers, flight upgrades, and the type of meals they ordered, among others. (Read more)

5. Arab politicians betray Israel, visit Palestinian terror organizations in Ramallah - World Israel News
Members of the Arab Joint List visited Ramallah Tuesday night to meet with members of the six Palestnian NGOs that the Israeli government defined as terrorist organizations the week before.
“In our backwards world, in which the government that is deepening the occupation calls itself a ‘change government,’ the defense minister dates to declare internationally respected human rights organizations terrorist organizations,” the Joint List said in a statement.
The group said that the left-wing Meretz party and Arab Ra’am party would need to decide what side they are on: “the occupation, annexation and apartheid side or the side of peace, equality or democracy.” (Read more)

1. Navy probe reveals failures that fueled arson fire and destroyed USS Bonhomme Richard - Fox News
A Navy report has concluded there were sweeping failures by commanders, crew members and others that fueled the July 2020 arson fire that destroyed the USS Bonhomme Richard, calling the massive five-day blaze in San Diego preventable and unacceptable.
While one sailor has been charged with setting the fire, the more than 400-page report, obtained by The Associated Press, lists three dozen officers and sailors whose failings either directly led to the ship's loss or contributed to it. The findings detailed widespread lapses in training, coordination, communication, fire preparedness, equipment maintenance and overall command and control.
"Although the fire was started by an act of arson, the ship was lost due to an inability to extinguish the fire," the report said, concluding that "repeated failures" by an "inadequately prepared crew" delivered "an ineffective fire response." (Read more)

2. Border arrests hit highest levels since 1986’s amnesty bill: CBP data - Fox News
Arrests by Border Patrol have soared to the highest levels since 1986, according to Customs and Border Patrol data. U.S. authorities detained more than 1.7 million migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border during the 2021 fiscal year, which ended in September, according to CBP data obtained by the Washington Post.
Historical data shows that Border Patrol made 1.69 million arrests nationwide in 1986, the outlet reported. The data, however, doesn’t show how many of those arrests were made along the border.
President Ronald Reagan signed a sweeping immigration reform bill into law in 1986, which provided a pathway to citizenship for immigrants who had entered the country before 1982. The bill also tightened up border security and penalized employers who hired illegal immigrants. (Read more)

3. Biden lowers spending bill target to between $1.75T and $1.9T: report - Fox Business
President Biden has privately informed Democratic lawmakers he is optimistic they can reach an agreement on a social spending plan capped at about $1.9 trillion, a spending target that would mark a significant reduction from the vast economic overhaul he initially envisioned, according to a report Tuesday.
Biden detailed a potential deal for a spending proposal of between $1.75 trillion and $1.9 trillion during a private meeting on Tuesday, the Washington Post reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The president was said to have shared the outline with at least some Democratic lawmakers.
The revised package includes many of the original plan’s signature proposals, including universal pre-K, substantial investment in green energy and expanded Medicare benefits. However, the sources told Washington Post the details were still subject to change. (Read more)

4. GOP expected to filibuster Senate election bill that would boost mail-in voting, mandate auto-registration - Fox News
The Senate is expected to hold a procedural vote Wednesday afternoon to end a filibuster on an election bill that would impose national standards on how states conduct federal elections, including requirements for mail-in voting and automatic voter registration.
Democrats' efforts to break the filibuster are expected to fail, as they would need ten Republicans to achieve the necessary 60 votes to move forward on the bill. So far, no Republican appears to be in favor of this.
The 592-page bill, known as the "Freedom to Vote Act," includes sweeping reforms that include the requirement of states to provide automatic voter registration, as well as online and same-day registration. It also calls for making Election Day a public holiday.

5. 'Souls to the polls': Virginia churches to air pro-McAuliffe ads featuring Kamala Harris - Washington Examiner
Hundreds of churches across Virginia are set to air a political ad starring Vice President Kamala Harris — a move that has raised eyebrows regarding the legality of bringing political campaigns into houses of worship.
Between Oct. 17 and Nov. 2, a video featuring Harris will play during the morning services of over 300 black churches across Virginia. In the video, Harris encourages viewers to vote for gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe in the upcoming election, according to CNN.
The video is only one part of McAuliffe's religiously minded "Souls to the Polls" media blitz. The "Souls to the Polls" events will be hosted weekly and are intended to encourage residents to vote on Sundays, with the first event held on Oct. 17, according to 10 Wavy. (Read more)

6. White House releases plans to vaccinate 28 million kids aged 5-11 against Covid using smaller needles - Daily Mail
The White House released its plans on Wednesday for vaccinating 28 million children between ages five and 11 against COVID-19. In the next few weeks, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to decide whether or not to authorize Pfizer-BioNTech's vaccine in younger kids in the next few weeks, meaning children could be fully vaccinated by Christmas.
If the jab is authorized, the Biden administration's plan to immunize kids will look very different than the campaign to inoculate adults. Child-size vials will be sent to providers across the country that can be kept in refrigerators along with smaller needles necessary for injecting young kids.
Children will be able to get the shot at their pediatrician's office or local pharmacy, and potentially even their school rather than mass immunization sites.
And children's hospitals will set up clinics on nights and weekends so mothers and fathers can vaccinate their kids after they get off of work. “Parents know and trust children's hospitals to be there for their children's medical needs, and these vaccination efforts will be no different,' the White House said in a a statement.(Read more)

7. Mayor de Blasio announces COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all city workers - New York Post
All New York City municipal employees will soon be required to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday. The city workers — including firefighters and cops — will be mandated to get their first dose by 5 p.m. on Oct. 29, the mayor said. Members of the city workforce who have not started their vaccine series by Nov. 1 will be placed on unpaid leave until they provide proof of vaccination, according to de Blasio.
“It’s a mandate now for all city agencies, all city workers. It’s time for everyone to get vaccinated,” he said Wednesday morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “We need to reassure all New Yorkers that, if you’re working with a public employee, they’re vaccinated, everyone is going to be safe.”
Under the new mandate – first reported by The Post on Tuesday — city employees who begin their vaccine series will through next week receive a $500 paycheck bump as an incentive. (Read more)

8. Churchgoers Trust their Pastor on Vaccine more than Politicians and Media, Pew Says - Christian Headlines
A majority of regular churchgoers in the U.S. say they would trust their pastor in providing guidance about the COVID-19 vaccine, but a majority also say their own minister has been silent on the issue, according to a new Pew Research Center poll.
The survey found that 61 percent of Americans who attend religious services at least monthly say they would have confidence in their own pastor to “provide guidance about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.”
That confidence level is higher than regular churchgoers have in their local elected officials (50 percent), their state elected officials (49 percent) and the news media (41 percent) in providing guidance about the vaccine. (Read more)

9. More than half of Americans say they have experienced supply chain-related issues, poll - Just The News
A poll released Wednesday show 53.7% of U.S. voters say they are personally feeling the negative effects of supply chain delays when attempting to purchase common consumer products. The insight poll from the Convention of States Action in conjunction with the Trafalgar Group shows 67.7% of Republican voters say they have "personally encountered delays or shortages when attempting to purchase common consumer products," compared to 42.4% of Democrat voters.
The poll, conducted in mid-October, is a reflection of what could and likely will become an even more significant issue as the holiday season approaches.
Since late August and September, Americans have been told to begin their Christmas and other holiday shopping because supply chain issues will likely interfere with the speed and availability of gifts around the winter months. (Read more)

On Monday, Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) signed an executive order advising state agencies not to enforce President Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

The world is aghast after revelations that under Dr. Anthony Fauci’s leadership the National Institutes of Health allocated tens of millions of taxpayer funds since 2007 to perform tortuous experiments on monkeys and beagle puppies. These were not just routine experiments to advance humankind, they were cruel death experiments that are beneath human dignity. The White Coat Waste Project is the whistleblower on these horrible disclosures drawing the attention of some 23 bipartisan House of Representative members who wrote Fauci demanding some answers. Carefully worded denials have been posted saying that the Food and Drug Administration required the experiments. The FDA denied the claim.
But there is one thing that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is not denying: That your tax dollars helped fund “gain of function” of coronaviruses in Wuhan, China. In a letter to US Representative James Comer (R-KY), NIH Principal Deputy Director Lawrence A Tabak sort of admitted that unbeknownst to NIH EcoHealth Alliance, the company that had the NIH grant for coronavirus research, helped develop gain of function in Wuhan by testing if “bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model.” But Tabak was emphatic in the letter that while this result was unexpected, these coronaviruses “are not and could not have become SARS-CoV-2.” Read More

Another caravan comprised of thousands of illegal immigrants is headed our way. They're breaking laws all over Mexico as they clash with police and law enforcement on their march north toward our border.
Incredibly, some are angry that Joe Biden isn't doing enough to keep the borders open, believing they have a right to walk into our country. Others are defiant and openly mocking the president, saying to reporters, "Tell Biden we're coming!" They know "Open Borders Biden" won't stop them.
The huge sums of money involved in human trafficking is corrupting some Americans too. Drug cartels are recruiting U.S. teenagers on Tik Tok to transport illegal immigrants by car, paying them $1,000 per person they can smuggle into the United States.
In one case, an American teenager flipped his truck into a ditch, injuring 13 illegal immigrants crammed into the vehicle. In another human smuggling case, a teenager and his adult girl friend were arrested for a car crash that killed two illegal aliens.
The left does everything it can to keep Donald Trump off social media, but Facebook and Tik Tok are allowing the cartels to facilitate human trafficking..

Nor'easter leaves half a million without power in New England
|
|
|
The storm, classified as a bomb cyclone, unleashed wind gusts in Massachusetts that rivaled a Category 1 hurricane in spots and caused serious flooding in parts of New York and New Jersey.
With each nor'easter Roger Ritch experiences, he likes to pretend that he's in a lighthouse three miles offshore rather than in the house bordering the seawall in Marshfield, Massachusetts. The boarded windows block the view of the ocean, but he can still hear the rumbling, followed by a few seconds of respite before another wave slams against the wall.
"What happens here is the water hits the seawall, goes straight up, covers our house but also covers the house in back," Ritch told Storm Chaser Brandon Clement, motioning to the front of his neighbor's home across the street. He had been in the process of boarding up the windows when Clement approached him.
Later Tuesday night, peak wind gusts as high as 87 mph were reported at Scituate, Massachusetts. Additionally, gusts of 83 mph were recorded in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Video footage captured by Clement showed powerful winds blasting coastal New England areas in what looked like scenes straight out of a hurricane.

Ron DeSantis Plans $5K Bonus for Unvaccinated Police to Relocate to Florida
|

Florida is ready to welcome police officers who are losing their jobs nationwide because of COVID-19 vaccination mandates, Gov. Ron DeSantis says, adding that he wants to offer a $5,000 bonus to any officer who relocates to the Sunshine State.
"So New York, Minneapolis, Seattle, if you're not being treated well, we'll treat you better here," the Florida Republican said Sunday on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo." "You can fill important needs for us, and we'll compensate you as a result."
Florida's economy is booming, said DeSantis, because the state "protected people's right to work and businesses' right to operate" by remaining mostly open during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In September the nation as a whole reported 195,000 new jobs," said DeSantis. "Florida shared in that with 84,900 jobs. If you look at August 2021 and look at our hotel revenue compared to August of 2019, pre-COVID, we were up 11% over that while the nation as a whole was down 5%...we have 400-500,000 job openings right now in Florida."
Part of that is because Florida has fought back against mandates, including those imposed that are harming the police and fire departments, and that's why Florida is welcoming law enforcement officers who have lost their jobs in other states, said the governor. (Newsmax) Read more here.

Day eighteen : Outbursts of wrath. Wrath destroys our witness to the miracle within us, the Holy Spirit of the Living God. There are occasions where righteous anger is appropriate, as in Jesus' turning over the tables of the money changers at the temple. But short of that, wrath destroys our witness to the presence of the Holy Spirit within us. We lose our salt and light, turning people away from the Kingdom instead of inviting them to experience God's goodness.
Ask the Helper if you have a spirit of wrath in you. Where did it first surface in you? Is it a generational curse? How does it show up in your life today?
What is His replacement? But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5: 22-25.
