Iran inks deal to supply Russia with ballistic missiles, more drones
|
|
Iran has signed a deal to supply Russia with surface-to-surface ballistic missiles and additional drones, Reuters reports, citing four Iranian officials.
The deal was forged on October 6 when Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber led a senior security delegation to Mocow, Reuters says.
“The Russians had asked for more drones and those Iranian ballistic missiles with improved accuracy, particularly the Fateh and Zolfaghar missiles family,” an Iranian diplomat tells Reuters. (Times of Israel) Read more

Russia blamed Israel’s “disproportionate and arbitrary” force against Palestinians for the ongoing West Bank violence when it spoke Monday at a meeting of the United Nations Second Committee in New York.
“We consider it counterproductive, those efforts, particularly by Western states, to replace the political process with economic peace and promote an Arab-Israeli normalization of relations without addressing the Palestinian problem.”

“The steady, high level of violence continues not only near the Gaza Strip, but also on the West Bank... because of arbitrary and disproportionate use of force in Israeli military operations,” said Evgeny Varganov, a senior counselor at the Russian mission to the UN.

South Carolina Could Become 20th State to Protect Life at Conception
|
|
This week, South Carolina faces the opportunity to join the ranks of states with laws on the books that protect life at conception — a move that would raise the total number of states to 20. Given that another 20 states in the U.S. currently allow legal abortions at any point in pregnancy, for any reason, the line in the sand between pro-life and pro-death states is quickly solidifying.
Currently, South Carolina’s law protects unborn children from abortion beginning at detection of a baby’s heartbeat around 5- or 6-weeks’ gestation. Though this life-affirming law is leaps and bounds better than states like Washington or Maine, where a baby could legally be killed on their day of birth, members of the South Carolina state legislature have demonstrated willingness to progress their state even further in the protection of the unborn.
The South Carolina House originally passed a strong pro-life bill protecting babies at conception, with exceptions only for rape and incest; the state Senate, however, rejected the proposed bill and sought to reaffirm the state’s current heartbeat bill. The state House once again sent the original life at conception bill back to the Senate, which will determine the bill’s ultimate fate on Tuesday, October 18. (The Stand) Read more here.

1. Ukraine FM: We will formally ask Israel for air defense assistance - Times of Israel
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba tells a news conference that his country will formally ask Israel for air defense assistance following a wave of attacks by Iranian-made drones.
Reuters quotes Kuleba as saying that he has also submitted a proposal to President Volodymyr Zelensky, asking that Kyiv to cut diplomatic ties with Tehran for supplying weapons to Russia.
Zelensky says he has repeatedly asked Israel to provide air defense systems, listing the Jewish state as one of five countries possessing the technology to help the Ukrainians against aerial attack during a September CNN interview. (Read more)

2. Lapid: We won't allow Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount - Israel National News
Prime Minister Yair Lapid addressed the Arab public and asked that they vote for his Yesh Atid party in the upcoming Knesset elections, citing his government's support for Muslim rights on the Temple Mount and policy prohibiting Jews from praying at the site.
In an interview with two Israeli Arab channels, Lapid stated that his government has done a lot in the fight against crime in the Arab sector, but qualified by saying: "It is not enough. There is improvement, but the improvement is too small. It is a process, and we need to make sure that this process continues and is strengthened."
According to Lapid, "Women should not be murdered. Children should not be murdered. We need to deal with the criminal organizations. The plan we built in the end pushed out (the criminals), some of the leaders of the criminal organizations have already fled to Turkey and other places. We hit their money." (Read more)

i24 News – Israel’s Prime Minister Yair Lapid hailed his government’s achievements during a meeting of his centrist Yesh Atid party on Tuesday, as the country prepares for its fifth round of elections.
Lapid referenced the impending November 1 elections saying the country has “less than two weeks to decide where the State of Israel is going.”
He continued that the election is about “whether we want a common future and economic and security achievements in this country, or whether we return to the hatred and anger and corruption of the past.” (Read more)

4. Netanyahu to be acquitted, Smotrich said in press conference - Jerusalem Post
Former prime minister and opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu will be acquitted from accusations of bribery, fraud and breach of trust for which he is currently standing trial, Religious Zionism Party (RZP) leader MK Bezalel Smotrich said in a press conference on Tuesday.
Smotrich made the comment during a press conference in which he and party member MK Simcha Rothman presented their plan for "restarting" Israel's judicial system. The plan includes canceling the fraud and breach of trust offense, but this will not apply to Netanyahu, Smotrich said.
"We will ensure in the law [that the trial will not be canceled], in order not to give the Left and the media a reason to reject the plan and focus only on Netanyahu," he said. (Read more)

5. Over 2 million people visited Western Wall during Jewish holiday season - World Israel News
During the Hebrew month of Elul and the Jewish holiday season of the Hebrew month of Tishrei, the Western Wall was visited by more than two million people, according to the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.
Thousands took part in the main prayer sessions, as well as hundreds of thousands who visited Jerusalem and the Kotel — as the wall is known in Hebrew — during the Sukkot holiday.
This figure is not surprising.
In the run up to the Rosh Hashanah New Year holiday and through Yom Kippur – the Day of Atonement – numerous people went to the Wall, or Kotel as it is known in Hebrew for the daily special prayers for atonement called selichot. And then there were all of the people who went to the Western Wall for the holiday prayers. (Read more)

1. Joe Biden to Announce Release of 10-15 Million More Barrels from Emergency Oil - Brietbart
President Joe Biden plans to release even more barrels of oil from the federal government’s strategic reserves to keep gas prices low before the midterm elections.
Bloomberg News reports that the Biden administration plans to release another ten million to 15 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
Biden’s latest decision marks more than 200 million barrels set for release in less than two years as president, more than all previous presidents combined according to the Wall Street Journal. (Read more)

2. Heritage Foundation ranks US military as 'weak' for first time - Washington Examiner
The U.S. military has grown increasingly weaker over the years and is considered at risk of not being able to respond to threats to the country’s national interests , according to new rankings of the military’s strength.
The Heritage Foundation’s 2023 Index of U.S. Military Strength found that the military is “weak” and “at growing risk of not being able to meet the demands of defending America’s vital national interests” — marking the first time in the index’s nine-year history that the country has been rated so low.
“It is rated as weak relative to the force needed to defend national interests on a global stage against actual challenges in the world as it is rather than as we wish it were,” the index said. “This is the logical consequence of years of sustained use, underfunding, poorly defined priorities, wildly shifting security policies, exceedingly poor discipline in program execution, and a profound lack of seriousness across the national security establishment even as threats to U.S. interests have surged.” (Read more)

3. WH press sec mocked for linking inflation rise to spending bill, saying relief starts ‘early next year’ - Fox News
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was mocked Monday for how she touted Biden's American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act in response to questions about when Americans can expect relief from higher prices.
During the White House press briefing, FOX Business correspondent Edward Lawrence asked Jean-Pierre if she had a "timeline for when Americans can start feeling some economic pain relief."
"In regards to the Inflation Reduction Act, early next year they will see some of the pieces of that when you think about energy costs, when you think about the Medicare kind of benefits from that. So, we’ll see some movement on that early next year," she said, before claiming gas prices have gone down and over-the-counter hearing aids will help. (Read more)

4. White House asked Democratic El Paso mayor not to declare migrant state of emergency - Fox News
The White House is pressuring El Paso, Texas, officials not to declare a state of emergency in the face of mass illegal immigration. Democratic Mayor Oscar Leeser allegedly told a member of the El Paso City Council in a private conversation that the White House has urged him not to declare a state of emergency.
"He told me the White House asked him not to," Councilmember Claudia Rodriguez told the New York Post.
A declaration has been expected from Leeser in recent weeks as the city's immigration struggles have become more prominent on the national level.
At least three of the eight El Paso City Council members have already asked Leeser to make an emergency declaration.
This week, the Biden administration, which has faced enormous political pressure over the nearly two-year crisis, announced a combined border operation with Mexico. That operation involves increased checkpoints and more resources to handle the migrant surge. (Read more)

5. Director Christopher Wray’s use of FBI jet amounts to ‘embezzlement,’ - New York Post
Former and current FBI agents are fuming about Director Christopher Wray’s use of the FBI’s private jet, which originally was intended by Congress only to be used for counterterrorism purposes.
A lot of other Americans would like to know why Wray cut short a Senate oversight hearing on Aug. 4 to fly in the FBI jet to his family holiday destination in the Adirondacks, after telling Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) that he had “business” to attend to.
Whatever was the purpose of all those flights to Wray’s hometown, they have set tongues wagging among current FBI agents. They have shared with former agents their suspicions that Wray is treating the FBI jet like his own private plane, and allege it amounts to “embezzlement” of government property, which is when someone “knowingly converts government property to one’s own use.” (Read more)

6. Saudi prince sends threat to the West after Biden warns of consequences for kingdom - Fox News
A Saudi prince related to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's seemingly took aim at President Biden and the U.S., warning leaders not to threaten Saudi Arabia. "Anybody that challenges the existence of this country and this kingdom. All of us, we are products of jihad, and martyrdom," Saudi Prince Saud al-Shaalan, who is married to one of the grandaughter's of the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud, said in a video that was posted to Twitter Saturday. "That's my message to anybody that thinks that it can threaten us."
King Abdulaziz Al Saud founded Saudi Arabia. The video comes amid a time of unprecedented tensions between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, with the oil-rich kingdom leading an OPEC+ decision last week to cut oil production despite American requests to increase exports.
Biden lashed out at Saudi Arabia following the decision, accusing the country of siding with Russia in its war with Ukraine and warning of "consequences" for the kingdom. (Read more)

7. Bloomberg: Odds of A Recession Hit 100% in ‘Blow to Biden’ - Brietbart
The U.S. economy is effectively certain to enter a recession in the next 12 months, according to model projections from Bloomberg Economics. Bloomberg News described this as “a blow to President Joe Biden’s economic messaging ahead of the November elections.”
The probability models maintained by Bloomberg economists Anna Wong and Eliza Winger had earlier shown just a 65 percent chance of a recession over the coming 12 months. A separate Bloomberg survey of 42 economists predicts the probability of a recession over the next 12 months rose to 60 percent recently, up from 50 percent a month earlier.
The odds of entering a recession even sooner are also up, according to the model. In the 11-month window, the probability is 73 percent, up from 30 percent. In the 10-month window, the probability rose to 25 percent from zero. (Read more)

Convicted madam Ghislaine Maxwell has said she feels “so bad” for her “dear friend” Prince Andrew — and heartbroken at the end of her “special friendship” with former President Bill Clinton. In a series of jailhouse interviews for an upcoming TV documentary, Maxwell decried the fact that famous friends have been hurt and “canceled” through their association with her and late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The same applied to disgraced UK royal Andrew, 62, who was booted from royal duties and stripped of the title His Royal Highness over his scandalous ties to her and Epstein.
“I accept that this friendship could not survive my conviction,” Maxwell told Barak of the younger brother of King Charles III.
Maxwell continued to maintain her innocence, blaming pre-trial publicity for unfairly making her appear as a “wicked witch.”
“I have read and seen and heard and had reported to me so many monstrous inaccuracies that I can’t even start to pick apart all of them,” she insisted, again saying she would be “super-happy to address” them “after the appeal.” (Read more)

Researchers Creating More Deadly COVID Strain

We heard throughout the entire COVID 19 pandemic that reasonable people must follow the science. Yet, the science that was repeatedly followed was political science as dissenting science was censored. Now scientists at Boston University, and supported by Harvard, Cleveland Clinic, Layola University, and University of Wisconsin, among others, have collaborated on developing a strain of COVID, called Omicron S, that is five times more infectious than Omicron and is vaccine resistant. In fact, the human-developed Omicron S had an 80-100% kill rate in mice used for experiments. This raises ethical questions about why do we need to invent more deadly diseases and risk their escape into mass society.
The scientists noted in their research paper how fast Omicron spreads and the number of variants evolved, exhibiting “a remarkable escape from infection- and vaccine-induced humoral immunity.” The less pathogenic variants develop or mutate from changes in the “S protein,” causing the scientists to study the S protein with the idea that it is at the “heart of Omicron’s pathogenic and antigenic behavior.” The report states: “To test the role of the S protein in Omicron phenotype, we generated a chimeric recombinant virus containing the S gen of Omicron (USA-iho1/2021) in the backbone of an ancestral SARS-CoV-s isolate. To produce this chimeric Omi-S virus, we employed a modified form…that yielded high concentrated virus stocks…” In other words, a gain of function, a weaponization of Omicron. Read More

Orionids to kick off prolonged stretch of fall meteor showers
|

The next month might as well be known as meteor shower season, as up to four separate shooting star events will take place in the night sky.
Four meteor showers are about to peak in less than one month's time, a celestial series that will kick off before the end of the week thanks to one of the most famous objects in the solar system.
The Orionid meteor shower peaks on the night of Thursday, Oct. 20, into the early morning of Friday, Nov. 21, as the Earth encounters a field of debris left behind by Halley's Comet. The famous comet will not return to the inner solar system until 2061, but its previous orbits around the sun left behind a trail of cosmic dust and debris that will burn up in sensational fashion when colliding with Earth's atmosphere this week.
Although the meteor shower is caused by Halley's Comet, the annual light show is named after the constellation Orion, as meteors will appear to originate from the same area of the sky as the constellation. Read More

Actor Kirk Cameron has revealed his hit film “Lifemark” has reportedly saved at least one unborn baby — a stunning legacy for a movie aiming to defend and uphold life. Cameron shared the touching story with CBN’s Faithwire, speaking alongside Pure Flix CEO Michael Scott about “Lifemark’s” success, the film’s plot, and the announcement the movie will be available for in-home streaming exclusively on Pure Flix beginning Nov. 22, 2022. “As a member of the family of faith, I am so thankful to see our culture finally moving in a direction on this issue of life that gives us something to cheer about and something to rally around,” Cameron said. The “Growing Pains” star said he’s elated to hear stories of “Lifemark” being used as a ministry tool, with Christians and pro-life activists using the film to change hearts and minds about adoption and abortion.
Cameron said fellow filmmakers Alex and Stephen Kendrick recently told him an incredible story about a girl who was reportedly considering aborting her child. A man who worked for a ride-hailing service purportedly picked the girl up in Georgia and was stunned when he saw where she wanted to go. “He noticed that the address … was an abortion clinic,” Cameron said. “And he had just seen the movie ‘Lifemark’ and was so deeply moved by it.” Rather than remain silent or ignore what was unfolding, the driver allegedly implored the woman to watch the film before terminating her pregnancy and making such a life-altering decision “She said, ‘Yes,’ and she went to go watch the movie,” Cameron said. “And as far as I know, she decided to keep her baby.” Cameron went on to say the woman came to faith in Jesus Christ, too.
