UN Overwhelmingly Rejects Russia's "Illegal" Annexation of Ukrainian Regions

Resolution wins strongest support yet of four measures passed in world body against Moscow’s moves; Kyiv hails vote as message that Russia ‘remains isolated’
|

The UN General Assembly voted overwhelmingly Wednesday to condemn Russia’s “attempted illegal annexation” of four Ukrainian regions and demand its immediate reversal, a sign of strong global opposition to the seven-month war and Moscow’s attempt to grab its neighbor’s territory.
The vote in the 193-member world body was 143-5 with 35 abstentions. It was the strongest support from the General Assembly for Ukraine and against Russia of the four resolutions it has approved since Russian troops invaded Ukraine February 24. Israel voted in favor.
Ukraine’s UN ambassador, Sergiy Kyslytsya, called the vote “amazing” and “a historic moment.” US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield said supporters were “holding our breaths” and called it “a monumental day.” European Union Ambassador Olof Skoog called it “a great success” that sends “a resounding message to Russia that they are and remain isolated.”
The Western-sponsored resolution was a response to Russia’s announced annexation last month of Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Moscow acted following Kremlin-orchestrated “referendums” that the Ukrainian government and the West have dismissed as sham votes conducted on occupied land amid warfare and displacement. 1. Lapid: Our forces won't rest until they catch attackers and those who sent them - Israel National News
Prime Minister Yair Lapid, this afternoon (Thursday, 13 October 2022), held a security assessment in the wake of events in eastern Jerusalem and continued preparations for the holidays.
Prime Minister Lapid received a detailed security and intelligence briefing on the activity of the security forces in Jerusalem and throughout the country, and on the efforts to achieve calm.
Additional steps to strengthen police units on the ground via the use of designated budgets were considered and taken. The Prime Minister also directed that two plans for strengthening the police in the short-term be advanced.
The Prime Minister received a comprehensive update on the events and marches that are due to take place around the country, in which tens of thousands of Israelis are expected to take part, with emphasis on Jerusalem, and ahead of the Simchat Torah celebrations. (Read more)

2. Violence erupts in Jerusalem in most violent night in capital in years - Jerusalem Post
Two Israeli police officers were injured and nine Palestinians were arrested between Wednesday night and Thursday morning as violence broke out across Jerusalem and parts of the West Bank amid rising tensions surrounding IDF operations in Shuafat and Nablus and a visit by Jews to Joseph's Tomb.
Arab rioters threw Molotov cocktails and rocks and fired fireworks toward Israeli forces throughout east Jerusalem starting early in the evening. Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion's car was also pelted with rocks on his way to a Sukkot event in east Jerusalem.
During riots in the Isawiya neighborhood, two police officers were lightly wounded. Police were investigating if the injuries were caused by a pipe bomb thrown at Israeli forces amid the riots. (Read more)

3. Israel providing Ukraine with intel on Iranian drones - World Israel News
Israel has been providing Ukraine with “basic intelligence about Iranian drones” that Russia is deploying in its war against Ukraine, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.
A private Israeli company has also begun providing Ukraine with satellite imagery of Russian military positions on Ukrainian territory, the report said, citing a senior Ukrainian official.
On Wednesday, Ukraine shot down at least nine Iranian-made drones launched by Russia, Ukraine’s military said.
Meanwhile, Fox News reported on Tuesday that Moscow has armed its neighbor and ally Belarus with dozens of Iranian-made drones, as tensions between Minsk and NATO grow and Belarus threatens to send ground forces into Ukraine to support its Russian ally. (Read more)

4. Hezbollah terror chief welcomes border deal, claims ‘resistance’ prodded Israel - Times of Israel
The leader of the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah on Tuesday cautiously welcomed the agreement between Israel and Lebanon to settle a maritime border dispute, claiming his group’s “resistance” helped prod Israel toward a deal.
Hezbollah had repeatedly threatened Israel during the negotiations and launched several drones at Israel’s offshore gas installations.
“Tonight we will not issue threats. Tonight there will only be joy and clapping,” Hassan Nasrallah said in a televised address, adding that Hezbollah will “remain on alert” until the agreement is signed. (Read more)

5. Abbas meets with Putin, rails at ‘Israeli violations against the Palestinians’ - Times of Israel
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas meets with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of an international conference in Kazakhstan, their first face-to-face meeting since Russia invaded Ukraine earlier this year.
“President Abbas briefed Putin on the latest political developments regarding the Palestinian issue, as well as on the continued Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, land, and Muslim and Christian holy sites, including the continued settlement construction, demolitions, extrajudicial killings, and the army siege imposed on the cities, refugee camps, and towns, particularly on Shuafat refugee camp, Nablus, and Jerusalem,” a statement carried by the PA’s official Wafa news agency says.
According to the statement, the two also discussed numerous regional and international issues, while Abbas “further praised Russia’s positions at all international forums in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause.” (Read more)

1. Next phase of Russia’s war against Ukraine begins as ‘trainloads’ of troops pour into Moscow ally Belarus – NewsTarget
For months Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, a key ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, has been pining to get involved in the Ukraine war, and it now appears as though he’ll get his wish. But the escalation is not likely to end well, either for his country or for Russia.
According to the Washington Examiner, Russian troops are pouring into Belarus “by the trainload,” which likely means they will join forces with Belarussan forces in a new push to retake lost ground in neighboring Ukraine:
Tens of thousands of Russian troops used Belarus as the staging ground for their initial northern offensive into Ukraine in February but mostly withdrew by late March. Since then, a few hundred Russian troops have stayed behind, mostly air and missile troops that use the close Russian ally as a launching pad for missile strikes into Ukraine, but that now appears to be changing. “Russian soldiers are entering Belarus by the trainload. They’re traveling in cattle cars — just a huge quantity. Just waves of trains arriving,” a Belarusian source told Kyiv Post correspondent Jason Jay Smart. (Read more)

It’s wake up time. For months, there has been a tremendous amount of denial out
there. So many of the “experts” assumed that the Federal Reserve and other central
banks had everything under control and that things would “return to normal” before too
long. But that hasn’t happened. Instead, the wheels seem to be coming off the bus and
nobody seems to know what to do. The Fed appears to be determined to keep raising
interest rates in a desperate attempt to fight inflation, and this has forced other central
banks all over the globe to raise rates as well in order to keep their currencies from
absolutely tanking. But all of these interest rate hikes are taking us into a major global
economic downturn, and central bankers in Europe are literally screaming at the Fed to
end the madness.
But the Fed is not going to end the madness, and so things are going to get really bad.
In fact, Bank of America is now projecting that the U.S. economy will lose 175,000 jobs
a month during the first quarter of 2023…as pressure from the Fed’s war on inflation
builds, nonfarm payrolls will begin shrinking early next year, translating to a loss of
about 175,000 jobs a month during the first quarter, the bank said. Charts published by
Bank of America suggest job losses will continue through much of 2023. “The premise
is a harder landing rather than a softer one,” Michael Gapen, head of US economics at
Bank of America, told CNN in a phone interview Monday. In my opinion, if our job losses
are that small during the first three months of next year I think that will be a huge win.

3. Global debt markets are BREAKING – pension collapse in England, govt. debt FAIL in Japan, while some bonds see 75% losses so far in 2022 – NewsTarget
The global debt market is orders of magnitude larger than the stock market, and debt instruments across the globe have nearly reached the breaking point due to the Fed’s steady increase in interest rates this year (combined with seemingly endless money printing and other disastrous fiscal policies).
Because bond values have an inverse relationship with interest rates, as interest rates go up, the value of bonds and other debt instruments already issued goes down. With each Fed rate increase, bond values are cratering, leaving debt investors holding substantial losses and leading to a collapse in the number of potential buyers even willing to take possession of these bonds.
Pointing to the bond-market turmoil in the U.K., McDonald said government bonds with 0.5% coupons that mature in 2061 were trading at 97 cents to the dollar in December, 58 cents in August and as low as 24 cents over recent weeks.
When asked if institutional investors could simply hold on to those bonds to avoid booking losses, he said that because of margin calls on derivative contracts, some institutional investors were forced to sell and take massive losses.
McDonald said that if the Federal Reserve raises the federal funds rate by another 100 basis points and continues its balance-sheet reductions at current levels, “they will crash the market.”
No buyers of government debt in Tokyo
In Tokyo, the Bank of Japan has been unable to find a single buyer of 10-year Japanese Government Bonds (JGB) for the last three days. As ZeroHedge reports:
Simply put, as one veteran JGB trader remarked privately to us, “there is no [cash] market anymore.” Traders also lack the incentive to trade benchmark 10-year notes because they expect yields to rise as the Fed aggressively tightens monetary policy, according to Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities. 4. US Inflation Remains Persistently High at 8.2 Percent, Fueled by High Rent and Food Prices – The Epoch Times
The U.S. annual inflation rate came in at 8.2 percent in September, down from 8.3 percent in August, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This was higher than the market expectation of 8.1 percent.
Core inflation, which strips the volatile food and energy sectors, advanced to a 6.6 percent annual rate, a new four-decade high. This was up from 6.3 percent in August and higher than the market forecast of 6.5 percent.
On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.4 percent, while the core CPI surged 0.6 percent.The major contributors to September inflation were increases in the shelter, food, and medical care costs.
According to BLS data, a sustained rise in food costs continues to inflate the headline figure. The food index gained 0.8 percent in September, the same as in August, and was up 11.2 percent year on year.The shelter index, which is closely watched, went up by 0.7 percent in September, which was also the same as in August. The rent index rose 0.8 percent in September and 6.7 percent year-over-year. (Read more)

5. Jeff Berwick: Global economic collapse will usher in One World Government – NewsTarget
Activist Jeff Berwick warned that a global economic collapse will usher in a communist one-world government.
He cited recent events – including the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage, the crash of the British pound and the $46 trillion stocks and bonds wipeout – as signs that this communist government is spreading worldwide. The danger of it is the people in charge of the Democratic Party, whether they actually hold positions or they just are influential in the Democratic Party, have created this cult-like atmosphere and fomented this fear. So much so that people who are really in a position to impact this, to stand up against and say ‘hold on guys this is literally insane and needs to stop’, they’re too afraid to do so because of what the ramifications will be.
The Democratic Party of the past, the Democratic Party that I joined, doesn’t exist anymore. The party that was….the party of JFK, of Dr Martin Luther King, the party of inclusivity, the big tent party that welcomed and encouraged this marketplace of ideas and conversations and people that held different views; the party that championed women and equality and the rights of people in our society. That party just doesn’t exist anymore and instead we have a party that’s being led by…by people who have gone insane with this ideological fanaticism. And there are a lot of different issues, a lot of different examples…you know the whole issue of biology and the trans issue is just one of them. There are so many different others.
You know parents, don’t have a….you don’t have a right to raise your kids now. You don’t have a right to say what they’re being taught in schools now. The state, the government, the teachers’ unions, only they have that right and that responsibility. They’re undermining families.
They don’t believe in the rule of law. Defund the police; the Supreme Court, we don’t agree with them so they’re illegitimate. There are so many different examples of this…this…these ideologues who’ve taken control of the Democratic Party who don’t actually care about the people. (Read more)

7. Pfizer Exec Admits Under Oath: 'We Never Tested COVID Vaccine Against Transmission' – ZeroHedge
A senior Pfizer executive has admitted under oath that the company never tested their Covid “vaccine” to see if it prevented transmission...
As Jack Phillips reports via The Epoch Times, member of the European Parliament, Rob Roos, asked during a session:
“Was the Pfizer COVID vaccine tested on stopping the transmission of the virus before it entered the market? Did we know about stopping immunization before it entered the market?” Pfizer’s Janine Small, president of international developed markets, said in response: “No … You know, we had to … really move at the speed of science to know what is taking place in the market.”
Roos, of the Netherlands, argued in a Twitter video Monday that following Small’s comments to him, millions of people around the world were duped by pharmaceutical companies and governments.
“Millions of people worldwide felt forced to get vaccinated because of the myth that ‘you do it for others,'” Roos said. “Now, this turned out to be a cheap lie” and “should be exposed,” he added.
“If you don’t get vaccinated, you’re anti-social. This is what the Dutch Prime Minister and Health Minister told us,” Roos said. “You don’t get vaccinated just for yourself, but also for others—you do it for all of society. That’s what they said.”
But that argument no longer holds, Roos explained. “Today, this turns out to be complete nonsense. In a COVID hearing in the European Parliament, one of the Pfizer directors just admitted to me—at the time of introduction, the vaccine had never been tested on stopping the transmission of the virus.” (Read more)

The inestimable team at the Expose have completed an analysis of official ONS data for age standardized mortality rates per 100,000 per age cohort for each of the unvaxxed and various dosages of the toxic injection. As suspected, the cure is worse than the disease.
“This data is all very alarming. A poorly functioning vaccine should still have at least a small positive effect. A non-functioning vaccine should have no effect. Yet we see a negative effect in all age groups for both 1 or 2 doses taken ‘at least 21 days ago’, and it is most cases the negative effect is quite large. The fact that the pattern is consistent and predictable, meaning it moves smoothly from month to month and age bracket to age bracket, gives even more credibility to the pattern.”

9. USDA announces $500 million stimulus program to boost domestic fertilizer production – NewsTarget
The administration of President Joe Biden has announced a $500 million grant to stimulate domestic fertilizer production. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack unveiled the program late last month. It is called the Fertilizer Production Expansion Program.
Under the new program, grants will be issued to support “independent, innovative and sustainable American fertilizer production” meant to supply American farmers with domestically-made and relatively cheap fertilizer. The goal is to expand the manufacturing and processing capacity for fertilizer and nutrient alternatives in the 50 states and America’s territories.
“Recent supply chain disruptions have shown just how critical it is to invest in the agricultural supply chain here at home,” said Vilsack. “USDA [U.S. Department of Agriculture] believes in the growth of innovative, local businesses owned and shared by people who can best serve their own unique community’s needs, fill gaps and build opportunities.” (Read more)

Targeting Freedom Of Speech And Religion

Recent headlines continue to tell the story of how freedom of speech in America is under attack by socialists in the Democratic Party. In California, for example, Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law to discipline doctors with possible suspension of their licenses for spreading “misinformation” or “disinformation” about COVID 19. The law targets doctors who speak out against harmful treatments of COVID mandated by the federal government and backed by big pharmaceutical companies and corporate-controlled medical associations. Alternative treatments that were proven effective against COVID were maligned by government-industry-media alliances that promoted COVID vaccines.
Unfortunately for the masses, the mRNA vaccines for COVID proved to be far less effective than advertised and fraught with long-term side effects, including heart issues and death. Despite these findings in scientific peer-reviewed studies, the government, media, and big corporate medical companies continue to promote a false narrative that the vaccines are both safe and effective. Even worse, they have censored dissenting opinions and studies that prove the effectiveness of less invasive alternative treatments and preventatives for COVID. This censorship is counter to the advancement of true science and it crosses the line of Constitutional guarantees of free speech as demonstrated by California’s unfathomable censorship. Read More

The National Committee for Religious Freedom (NCRF), a 501(c)4 political action nonprofit whose stated mission is focused on “defending the right of everyone in America to live one's faith freely,” opened an account with Chase in April.
Sam Brownback, NCRF chairman and former U.S. ambassador-at-large for international religious freedom under the Trump administration, wrote in a piece published by The Christian Post that NCRF initially had a “very positive” experience with the bank.
But less than three weeks after it was opened, Chase informed NCRF on May 6 that the bank would be closing their account. Brownback said there was “never an official cause given” when an NCRF official went to make a deposit into the account and a clerk said the account was closed. According to Brownback, after NCRF Executive Director Justin Murff reached out for more information on the move, he was told the decision was made at the “corporate level.”

“It’s secret, it’s irrevocable, and that’s all the information we got,” added Brownback, who also served as a U.S. senator and governor of Kansas from 2011 to 2018.
After Chase employees initially told NCRF they were “prohibited from providing any explanations” for the move, the bank later said NCRF failed to provide requested documentation within 60 days — even though the account had only been open for 20 days.
After looking further into the issue, a representative from the Chase executive office identified only as “Chi-Chi” contacted Murff and explained that it might be possible to continue the business relationship if NCRF could provide some further details about the nonprofit’s political activities.
Murff told CP that included providing a list of donors who have given more than 10% of NCRF’s operating budget, a list of candidates NCRF intends to support and the criteria which NCRF uses to decide whom it supports politically.
If NCRF could provide those to Chase, Murff said he was told the bank “could potentially consider reopening the account.”
Brownback said after the ordeal, he believes it’s time for Congress to “hold a series of hearings investigating business, particularly big corporations, that exclude people and try to find out why.” (Christian Post) Read more here.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va.—A county in northern Virginia has halted its use of Konnech Corp.’s election software after last week’s arrest of the company’s chief executive.
Since learning about the arrest, the Fairfax County Office of Elections has halted using Konnech’s PollChief election officer management software, Eric Spicer, the director and general registrar of the county’s Office of Elections, said in an emailed statement to The Epoch Times on Oct. 6.
The county also is terminating its contract with Konnech, Spicer added. Fairfax County election officials declined to comment on whether the county is securing a replacement product, given that Election Day is less than a month away.
PollChief, Konnech’s election worker management system product, is designed to assist with poll worker assignments, communications, and payroll, according to the statement.
“Furthermore, this software is not connected to the county’s voting systems or the state voter registration system. It cannot be used to tabulate votes or election results,” he said.
“It is important to note that Fairfax County has never used software from this company to collect or store sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers or banking information,” Spicer said in the statement.
Konnech CEO Eugene Yu, 51, was arrested in Michigan on Oct. 4 as part of an investigation into the suspected “theft of personal identifying information” of Los Angeles County election workers, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s (DA) Office.
Michigan-based Konnech won a five-year contract with Los Angeles County in 2020, and stored election workers’ data on servers in China, the DA’s office said. The office is now seeking Yu’s extradition to Los Angeles. (The Epoch Times and Intercessors for America) Read more here.

This appearance in Court on this case needs prayer. It is possible that with this proceeding that a hornet’s nest will be opened on more election integrity issues, Chinese involvement, and even domestic participants. We are asking you to consider fasting and praying on Friday for this issue. In addition, as many of you know, those who expose these things are in great danger. Please pray for Catherine Engelbrecht, Gregg Phillips, the True the Vote team, and others who have been part of investigating these larger issues. Pray for a hedge of protection around them. Pray for justice to be served in this case. Pray for our elections as all of this is happening in the shadow of the 2022 midterm elections. Our nation and lives are at stake. Scientists just discovered a new whale.
Now they fear it may go extinct.

Early last year, researchers with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration detailed a rare finding: After years of study, they had identified a new species of whale that has been seen only in the Gulf of Mexico.
Known as Rice’s whale or the Gulf of Mexico whale, the animal can grow to 42 feet long and up to 60,000 pounds — about the weight of a firetruck. Scientists long thought these were Bryde’s whales, which are found in oceans around the world. But only in recent years did they confirm that the Gulf of Mexico whales are structurally and genetically distinct.
The newly designated whales also are at risk of extinction; the entire species has only about 50 known individuals, according to NOAA.
On Thursday, more than 100 marine scientists signed a lengthy open letter to the Biden administration, pleading for a range of additional protections for what they called “one of the most endangered marine mammal species” on the planet.
“Some of us have been trying to raise the profile of this whale for many years now,” said Peter Corkeron, a senior scientist and whale researcher at the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life at the New England Aquarium. Read More

Iranian-Born Pastor Joins Over 2,000 Christians From 70 Nations for Celebrated Jerusalem March Event

After a two-year hiatus due to the corona pandemic, the traditional Jerusalem March during Succot returned Thursday, featuring thousands of colorful Christian pilgrims who are in Israel for the Feast of Tabernacles celebration held each year by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem. Mayor of Jerusalem Moshe Lion was joined by ICEJ President Dr. Jürgen Bühler to kick off the popular March through the heart of the capital city, as tens of thousands of Israelis looked on.
The Jerusalem March is the highlight of the week-long Feast gathering, and the ICEJ national delegations once again were the largest and most colorful group in the holiday parade. This year's Christian marchers included a delegation from Egypt, as well as an Iranian exile waving a Persian flag from before the Islamic revolution to express his hope for restored peaceful ties with Israel. "It was beautiful to represent my country in the Jerusalem March today," said Peyman Motjtahedi, an Iranian-born, Feast pilgrim who now serves as a worship leader in a large church in Dallas, Texas. "This was a very important part of my first visit ever to Israel, and I was thrilled to see the amazing reaction of Jewish people I met along the route. When I told them I loved them as an Iranian, they were shocked. Several people had tears in their eyes, especially the Persian Jews who recognized my flag."
"What a joy for our Christian pilgrims to be back in the Jerusalem March greeting Israelis along the streets of the capital city after two years of corona travel restrictions," ICEJ President Dr. Juergen Buehler told Mayor Lion as they led off the March this afternoon.
