Texas Governor Issues Executive Order Banning Vaccine Mandates by Any Entity
|
|
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Oct. 11 issued an executive order that bans vaccine mandates by any entity in the state, including private employers.
“The COVID-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and our best defense against the virus, but should remain voluntary and never forced,” Abbott said in a statement upon issuing the order.
The executive order (pdf) states, “No entity in Texas can compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine by any individual, including an employee or a consumer, who objects to such vaccination for any reason of personal conscience, based on a religious belief, or for medical reasons, including prior recovery from COVID-19.”
“I hereby suspend all relevant statutes to the extent necessary to enforce this prohibition,” Abbott wrote in the order.
He also added the issue as an agenda to the third special legislative session, which is currently convened until Oct. 19, to give lawmakers the opportunity to pass a law to similar effect.
“The executive order will be rescinded upon the passage of such legislation,” Abbott wrote. (Read more)

- Oh Hallelujah Father, for a governor of courage and wisdom. May the legislature and other states follow suit as well. We pray for a complete end to this government making such mandates upon the citizens. We ask that they would be stopped in their tracks from requiring the injection in order to keep one's job or participate in society. 1. Bennett to meet Putin in Russia next week - Israel National News
Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to meet in Russia next week to discuss Iran's nuclear program, the Prime Minister's Office announced.
The meeting will be held in Sochi on October 22. The leaders will discuss a range of issues in the fields of diplomacy, economics, and security, with a focus on the Iranian nuclear threat,

2. Iran hacked US and Israeli defense tech companies - Microsoft - Jerusalem Post
The Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) announced on Monday that Iranian hackers successfully targeted US and Israeli defense technology companies.
More than 250 Microsft Office 365 accounts linked to the US, EU and the Israeli government were hacked into through extensive password spraying.
In addition, Persian Gulf ports of entry and global maritime transportation companies with business presence in the Middle East were also targeted. (Read more)

3. Herzog: Inaction against Iran a ‘clear threat to international peace and security’ - World Israel National News
Iran is exploiting the world’s inaction and the lack of coordination between the countries, “a clear threat to international peace and security,” Israeli President Isaac Herzog warned.
Herzog addressed the Jerusalem Post 10th Annual Conference at the Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem on Tuesday and condemned Iran’s regional aggression as a result of a breakdown of international dialogue.
“Here, we see the world’s failure to act in concert, to settle on a strategy to sever Iran’s tentacles in the Middle East, to restrain its ballistic missile program, and to shut down its nuclear program. Iran is exploiting this inaction, this lack of coordination: a clear threat to international peace and security,” said Herzog. (Read more)

4. Jordan and Israel Sign Countries’ ‘Largest Water Sale’ Deal - Algemeiner
i24 News – Israel formally agreed Tuesday to double the amount of freshwater it provides to neighbor Jordan, one of the world’s most water-deficient countries.
The agreement is proof that “we want good neighborly relations,” said Karine Elharrar, Israel’s infrastructure, energy and water resource minister.
Elharrar travelled to Jordan for a signing ceremony between representatives to the Joint Water Committee, which manages bilateral water relations.
The two countries agreed that Israel would sell 50 billion liters of water a year to Jordan, doubling what it already supplies. (Read more)

5. Kushner, Ivanka Trump in Jerusalem for Abraham Accords initiative - YNET News
Israeli lawmakers flanked by former president Donald Trump's daughter and son-in-law launched an initiative in Jerusalem on Monday to advance the Abraham Accords that saw Arab states normalize ties with Israel. Jared Kushner, a former White House adviser married to Ivanka Trump, was a major architect of the deals between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco.
At the launch of the Abraham Accords Caucus in the Knesset, Kushner said the agreements created a "new paradigm" in the region, which could have "very different outcomes" depending on the actions of current leaders.
Critics of the Trump approach accused him of advancing Arab reconciliation with Israel as a substitute for meaningful efforts to advance the rights of the Palestinians. (Read more)

1. Pilot rebuffs Biden's vax mandate amid Southwest turmoil: 'We have all the control' - Fox News
A commercial airline pilot slammed President Biden for his September edict mandating most U.S. employees receive an injection of the coronavirus vaccine to be able to keep their jobs, as Southwest Airlines continues to grapple with hundreds of canceled flights initially blamed on weather and other issues.
Joshua Yoder, co-founder of U.S. Freedom Flyers, told Fox News on Monday that pilots and other staff should not be forced to submit to an injection of unwanted pharmaceuticals at the order of their government.
"My motive for resisting it is primarily religious for myself. Among my friends I saw a need. Many of us don’t want to take this. People were being coerced, I believe in freedom and I’m here to support the freedom of my fellow employees and all people across this country. I’m not going to take a mandate, I’m not going to be forced to do something I don’t believe in," he said on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."
Yoder warned that if the warning from the past weekend isn't heeded, the effect of thousands of American workers being fired en masse will have devastating and lasting effects on the U.S. economy as well as everyday life for all Americans. (Read more)

2. New Zealand to Impose ‘No Jab, No Job’ Regime on Teachers, Health Workers - Brietbart
New Zealand announced Monday a sweeping “no jab, no job” policy for most healthcare workers and teachers to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We can’t leave anything to chance so that’s why we are making it mandatory,” said Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins, who is also the education minister.
Doctors, nurses and other frontline health workers must be double-jabbed by December 1st while everyone working in the education sector who has contact with students must have their two doses by January 1st.
The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners backed mandatory vaccinations with president Samantha Murton describing it as a “bold, but necessary call” to make.
Secondary schools will also be required to keep a register to show the vaccination status of students. (Read more)

3. Hillary Clinton decries attacks on 'legitimacy' of elections after calling Trump an 'illegitimate president' - Fox News
Hillary Clinton sounded the alarm on the "high-level attack" on the legitimacy of American elections during an appearance on "The View" after previously singing a different tune.
The former secretary of state was asked "how close" she thought the country came to a "full-on constitution crisis" following the events of Jan. 6. “You know, I think we not only came close to a full constitutional crisis, I think we’re still in it," Clinton responded on Monday. "And that gives me absolutely no satisfaction in saying this because I think we’re at a very dangerous, continuing high-level attack on the legitimacy of our government and the election of our president."
However, the former 2016 Democratic nominee previously declared her GOP opponent Donald Trump was an "illegitimate president." "I believe he knows he's an illegitimate president," Clinton told CBS in 2019. "He knows. He knows that there were a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out the way it did." 4. Biden highlights anti-LGBT bills, Equality Act on Coming Out Day - The Hill
President Biden on Monday called for the defeat of anti-LGBT bills in state legislatures and for Senate passage of the Equality Act to mark National Coming Out Day.
“Despite the extraordinary progress our nation has made, our work to ensure the full promise of equality is not yet done,” the president said in a statement on Monday. “Anti-LGBTQ+ bills still proliferate in state legislatures. Bullying and harassment — particularly of young transgender Americans and LGBTQ+ people of color — still abounds, diminishing our national character.”
He called state legislation targeting the LGBT community “discriminatory.” Several bills have passed in states that are widely considered anti-LGBT, and states such as Texas, Arkansas and Tennessee have taken up measures that would place restrictions on transgender people.
The Equality Act would prohibit discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation and gender identity. The House passed the measure largely along party lines earlier this year, and the Senate has yet to take up the bill. (Read more)

5. DeSantis unemployment bonus phaseout boosted Florida economy, study claims - Fox Business
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis delivered a strong boost to the Sunshine State's coffers and economy by ending the extra federal unemployment benefits early, a new study finds.
“Today, there is more job creation, more economic activity, and less unemployment thanks to the economic stewardship of Gov. DeSantis. In particular, the governor’s decision to end the $300 weekly unemployment bonus helped to accelerate Florida’s economic recovery and kick the state into overdrive," Hayden Dublois and Jonathan Ingram wrote in a study for the Foundation for Government Accountability.
While Florida's work-first policies, low taxes, limited regulations and support for entrepreneurs made the state better positioned to weather the COVID-19 pandemic, the study's authors noted that the nationwide labor shortage also hit Florida. In March 2021, Florida employers had nearly 500,000 open jobs, even though three times as many Floridians were on unemployment as compared to pre-pandemic levels. (Read more)

6. Georgia asks DOJ to investigate largest county over alleged destruction of election documents - Just The News
Georgia's top election official on Monday demanded that the U.S. Justice Department open an investigation into election management in the state's largest county after officials in Fulton County disclosed they had shredded at least 300 voter applications for its upcoming municipal elections in apparent violation of the law.
Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's office told Just the News that his office had also opened an inquiry into the disclosure by Fulton County officials but believed it was time for federal prosecutors to review chronic election irregularities inside the state's largest county, which includes the city of Atlanta.
"After 20 years of documented failure in Fulton County elections, Georgians are tired of waiting to see what the next embarrassing revelation will be," Raffensperger said in a statement. "The Department of Justice needs to take a long look at what Fulton County is doing and how their leadership disenfranchises Fulton voters through incompetence and malfeasance." (Read more)

7. Obama to campaign with McAuliffe in neck-in-neck Virginia governor's race - Just The News
Former President Barack Obama will campaign alongside fellow Democrat Terry McAuliffe as he competes to again become the governor of Virginia. McAuliffe announced the guest appearance Tuesday morning saying, "the stakes could not be greater."
McAuliffe is currently neck-in-neck with Republican opponent Glenn Youngkin, the former co-CEO of the Carlyle Group and a first-time political candidate. The polls show a dead heat between the two in a state that has primarily leaned blue for the last several elections.
Obama will join McAuliffe on Oct. 23 in Richmond in an effort to mobilize Virginians during the early voting period, which began several weeks ago and last through the 30th of this month. Election Day in Virginia is Nov. 2. Obama previously came out to support current Virginia Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam before he defeated Republican Ed Gillespie in 2017. (Read more)

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Tuesday that new IRS reporting requirements for financial institutions will stay in the Democrats' filibuster-proof reconciliation bill but the $600 amount is part ongoing "negotiation. Banks and credit unions currently report transactions in accounts that are $10,000 and above. Democrats have proposed lowering that threshold to $600.
When asked if the Democrats are going to leave those IRS requirements in the bill, Pelosi replied, "Yes, yes, yes." Pelosi was also asked what she has to say to Americans with privacy concerns related to financial institutions monitoring accounts for transactions $600 and above.
"The plural of anecdote is not data. I've said that before here. Yes, there are concerns that some people have but if people are breaking the law and not paying their taxes, one way to track them is through the banking measure," she said. 9. Supply Chain Crunch: WH Admits ‘There Will Be Things You Can’t Get’ at Christmas - Brietbart
The Biden White House on Tuesday warned in an interview with Reuters that “there will be things you can’t get” for Christmas as the U.S. continues to face supply chain issues. At the same time, a lot of these goods are hopefully substitutable by other things […] I don’t think there’s any real reason to be panicked, but we all feel the frustration and there’s a certain need for patience to help get through a relatively short period of time,” the unnamed official told the news outlet.
The White House’s warning comes as shipping containers remain backlogged at ports on both of the country’s coasts. Recent reports say 65 cargo ships are waiting to dock the high-traffic Port of Los Angeles, which is currently full. Additionally, 8,000 shipping containers are stuck at the Port of Savannah.
On Tuesday, Coresight Research Founder and CEO Deborah Weinswig predicted that the supply chain crunch will cause issues into 2023. “This is not just a holiday challenge — which it is acute, probably the worst I’ve ever seen,” she added. “I think that this continues. And that is where we’re going to see innovation and new jobs created, but we’re still really short right now.” (Read more)

- Father, this supply chain issue is so apparently real, but so inexplicable. Please expose the root causes because there seems to be no excuse for everything falling apart by itself. Clearly there are issues we can address in prayer to see Your strong hand work in this matter and remove every obstruction so that goods may be moving freely again. Please cause those ships to be off-loaded and may the warehouses stop blocking truckers from picking up loads to transport and deliver, in Jesus name.

10. Democrat Lawmakers Rely on Handing Out Expensive Welfare to Win 2022 Midterms - Brietbart
Democrat lawmakers on Tuesday suggested they are relying on expensive federal welfare handouts to home districts from Biden’s stalled tax and spend agenda to win the 2022 midterm elections.
“It’s one that we shoot ourselves in the foot if we don’t pass it,” Rep. Juan Vargas (D-CA) told Politico, referencing Biden’s two-track agenda of passing nearly $5 trillion worth of so-called “human infrastructure” full of welfare spending.
When asked about the urgency of passing a welfare measure before the 2022 midterms, Vargas said, “I think it’s on everybody’s minds, this is the last best chance to pass something big.” President Joe Biden’s proposed “human infrastructure” includes expensive welfare items such as child care, paid leave, health care, global warming, college tuition, subsidized housing, and Medicare expansion to offer dental, vision, and hearing benefits. Mandates As A Civil Rights Issue

In what is becoming a crucial civil rights issue, vaccine mandates are being opposed across the country. The Biden Administration ought to sit up and take notice that police, health workers, teachers, transportation workers and a host of unorganized pockets of citizens are standing up for their rights in a true to life “my body, my choice” moment. Meanwhile, Biden’s Build Back Better economy is fraught with inflation, shortages due to supply chain disruptions, and the inability for businesses to find workers. The back-door federal vaccine mandate using Occupational Safety and Health Administration fines to foment a “no vax, no work policy” may create the perfect storm of consequences against all American citizens.
The Biden talking points are full of hypocrisy, if not outright lies. Biden himself said that the government will not mandate vaccines and masks. This was repeated on July 23 by his press secretary Jen Psaki. Which was repeated a week later by the Director of the CDC Rochelle Walensky. Then in August, chief COVID czar Anthony Fauci said, “you’re not going to get mandates centrally from the federal government.” Then in September, Biden announced his back door attack on the unvaccinated and antibodied (those who have survived COVID)—that the government would require all employees, government contractors, and businesses of 100 employees or more to be vaccinated. If not, they will be fined out of existence. Meantime, anyone who tries to blow the whistle on vaccine efficacy or safety is censored by media platforms. Read More

U.S. Sen. James Lankford said Thursday he remains hopeful about the future of the United States in part because God continues sending Christians to serve in the nation’s capital.
“That would tell me even if this is Sodom and Gomorrah, He hasn't given up on it. We shouldn't give up on it,” Lankford (R-Okla.) said during an appearance at Family Research Council’s Inaugural Pray Vote Stand Summit in Leesburg, Va.
Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, said he estimates there are “more men and women of committed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ serving in Congress” than “probably in modern time.”
“If [God] were finished with America, He wouldn't be calling men and women of faith to Washington, D.C.,” Perkins said. “And He's doing that.”
. . . Washington, D.C., Lankford said, is a “mirror to the country more than the country wants to admit.” That is, the contentiousness in D.C. mirrors the contentiousness on the local level, he said.
“If we want to see a change, I really am convinced that Washington doesn't change the country,” he said. “[Instead,] the country changes Washington. While our military and political elites continue to act like the big threat facing America is conservative parents, communist China is preparing for war against its main enemy – the United States.
On Friday, President Xi Jinping announced that no private investment would be allowed in any Chinese media company, and that private companies are banned from any newsgathering or broadcasting.
Speaking on CNBC this morning, Kyle Bass, one of the few financial titans willing to criticize communist China, warned that America had better wake up to Beijing's ambitions. Bass said:
"Today there are 75-plus official Chinese state media accounts on Twitter and they don't allow any official state media accounts on [Chinese social media]. They don't allow any of our diplomats to have access to the Chinese people. Why do we keep allowing one-way streets?"
Bass is absolutely right. Communist China is preparing for a major showdown with us.
What do totalitarian nations do as they prepare for war? They clamp down on the press and institute total control of mass communications. And on Saturday, Xi vowed to reassert communist China's control over Taiwan.

IMF Cuts US Growth Forecast Due to Supply Chain Chaos, Weaker Spending

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has slashed its growth forecast for the United States by one full percentage point, blaming supply chain disruptions and weaker consumption, while warning of growing economic risks to the world economy.
In its most recent World Economic Outlook, released on Oct. 12, the IMF cut the growth forecast for the United States from 7.0 percent in July—a level that would have been the strongest pace since 1984—down to 6.0 percent. At the same time, the IMF raised the U.S. growth forecast for 2022 by 0.3 of a percentage point to 5.2 percent.
The sharp downgrade was blamed on large inventory drawdowns in the second quarter, partly driven by supply chain chaos, as well as softening consumption in the third quarter.
U.S. growth could shrink further, the IMF said, because its forecasts assume that a deeply divided Congress will approve President Joe Biden’s proposed infrastructure and social spending package worth around $4 trillion over a decade.
The IMF also trimmed its 2021 global growth forecast by 0.1 of a percentage point to 5.9 percent from the 6.0 percent forecast it made in July while leaving the 2022 growth projection unchanged at 4.9 percent. Beyond 2022, global growth is expected to moderate to around 3.3 percent.
“This modest headline revision, however, masks large downgrades for some countries,” the IMF said in the report. “The outlook for the low-income developing country group has darkened considerably due to worsening pandemic dynamics. The downgrade also reflects more difficult near-term prospects for the advanced economy group, in part due to supply disruptions.” (Epoch Times) Read more here.

Solar Storm Expected to Hit Earth Soon Could Cause Power Grid, Satellite Disruptions: Agency

A geomagnetic storm caused by a solar flare is slated to impact Earth this week, potentially causing disruptions to power grids and satellite communications, according to the U.S. Space Weather Prediction Center.
The agency, which is run by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, issued a geomagnetic storm watch, noting that “moderate” conditions could be possible on Monday and Tuesday “due to the anticipated arrival of a CME,” or coronal mass ejection from the sun.
The CME could impact power grids around 55 degrees latitude, potentially triggering power grid fluctuations with voltage alarms at higher latitudes, according to the Space Weather agency.
Meanwhile, satellite “orientation irregularities” may occur, the agency said, adding that “high-frequency radio propagation can fade at higher latitudes.” The storm may increase the drag on low-Earth orbiters, said the bulletin. Read More

She trusted God, survived cancer and Covid at the same time

In 2020 Geane Prado, 51, was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. She started chemotherapy and had a bone marrow transplant. But when she went for her second round of chemotherapy, doctors discovered Geane had COVID-19, according to a report by Aleteia.
Admitted to the hospital, her condition deteriorated rapidly. After the second diagnosis, she fully surrendered her life to God.
God gave her a strong faith, but prior to being intubated, she wrote goodbye letters to her family. She sent them all to a friend and asked her to deliver the messages if she died.

Geane’s condition got worse. While intubated, she endured a pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and bacterial pneumonia. Her fever would not decrease. Doctors told her family she had 48 hours to live.
When her children learned of the grim prognosis, they mobilized a massive prayer chain.
“They took friends to the hospital door to pray, and asked for prayers through WhatsApp and social networks. People from all over Brazil joined the movement of faith. They always added a word of encouragement during their prayers: “Get up, Geane,” according to Aleteia.
God heard their cry, answered their prayers, and within a short time her fever disappeared and her condition gradually improved. Doctors described it as “a miracle.” (God Reports.com)
