Pompeo rips Biden's 'reckless' Armageddon remark
Pompeo rips Biden's 'reckless' Armageddon remark: 'One of the greatest foreign policy failures'

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Sunday categorized President Biden’s quickly notorious Armageddon comment regarding the nuclear risk posed by Russia as "reckless" and demonstrating "maybe one of the greatest foreign policy failures of the last decades."

"Oh my goodness. First of all those comments were reckless. I think that even more importantly, they demonstrate maybe one of the greatest foreign policy failures of the last decades, which was the failure to deter Vladimir Putin in the same way that the Trump administration did for four years," Pompeo told "Fox News Sunday" host Shannon Bream.

"When you hear the president talking about Armageddon at a random — as a random thought just musing at a fundraiser that is a terrible risk to the American people if he truly believes that he ought to be out talking to us in a serious way," Pompeo added. (Fox News) Read more here.

- Lord, we pray for wisdom and ask that You grant us a miracle. This administration appears to be gravitating toward WWIII. We do not seek war, we do pray for peace, and for a wave of repentance to flow through our leadership before it's too late.

Putin 'in a corner' with options narrowing
Putin 'in a corner' with options narrowing

US President Joe Biden admitted this week that American diplomats still did not know how Russian President Vladimir Putin could bring an end to his faltering war in Ukraine and save face. Western analysts see no good options.

The question of Putin's "off-ramp" -- or decisions that allow him to end the fighting without admitting defeat -- has exercised Western policymakers and foreign policy experts since the very start of the war in February.

"Where does he find a way out?" Biden asked on Thursday while talking in New York. "Where does he find himself in a position that he does not, not only lose face, but lose significant power within Russia?" (france24.com) Read more here.

- Lord, whatever needs to happen to stop Putin from igniting further disasters, You alone are the answer. We pray that You will touch his mind and heart, and raise up leadership within Russia that will be able to turn their nation from death and destruction to life and hope.

Cruz, Graham warn Mayorkas to prepare for impeachment over border crisis
Cruz, Graham warn Mayorkas to prepare for impeachment over border crisis

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) warned Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas this week that he will likely face impeachment for a “gross dereliction of duty” that has allowed millions of illegal immigrants to cross the US-Mexico border this year.

In a letter to Mayorkas obtained by Fox News Digital, the two Republican senators highlighted the staggering number of illegal immigrants that have crossed the southern border since Mayorkas took office.

“Since you assumed office as the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) 19 months ago, there have been over 4.4 million illegal crossings, including over 3.5 million apprehensions by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)1 and at least 900,000 gotaways, who evaded apprehension,” the letter stated.

“This is gross dereliction of duty and, if not corrected swiftly, could provide grounds for Impeachment,” the senators warned. “We fully expect that in a few months’ time a Republican-led Congress will hold you to account for your willful negligence regarding the security of the southern border and the safety of the American people. We ask that you provide a full accounting of what DHS will do to achieve operational control of the southern border, as it is required to do by law, and stop the flow of illegal aliens and illicit drugs into the United States. Lives are depending on it.” (AmericanMilitaryNews) Read more here.

- Lord, it appears that the Biden administration has several people who are presiding over egregious actions that may be worthy of impeachment. We pray for their souls and ask that You render Your justice over each situation.

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. 3 suspects arrested in deadly Jerusalem shooting as searches continue - World Israel News

Israeli security personnel arrested three suspects linked to Saturday’s deadly terrorist shooting attack, as searches continue for other terrorists involved in the attack.

Military Police officer Noa Lazar, 18, was shot and killed when Arab terrorists opened fire at a checkpoint on the outskirts of the Shuafat neighborhood in northern Jerusalem Saturday.

A 30-year-old guard was seriously wounded in the attack, while a third Israeli suffered light injuries from shrapnel.

Israeli security forces, including Border Police units, were deployed to the Shuafat neighborhood to search for the perpetrators of the attack. (Read more)

2. IDF conducts counter-terror operations in Judea and Samaria - Israel National News

Overnight and this morning, IDF, ISA (Shabak)and Israel Border Police forces conducted counterterrorism activities in several locations within Judea and Samaria. Along with in the town of Far'un.

IDF soldiers also operated in the village of Alpa’wer, apprehending two suspects wanted for involvement in terror activity.

In parallel, the soldiers operated the village of Abu shahidem in order to apprehend a suspect wanted for involvement in terror activity, during the activity several suspects hurled rocks and Molotov cocktails at the soldiers who responded with riot dispersal means. (Read more)

3. As terrorism rears its head, Israel has to make key decisions - Israel Hayom

The shooting attack in Jerusalem on Saturday did not come as a surprise. For quite some time now, security officials have sounded the alarm that motivation to engage in terrorism has reached new highs and that the volume of intelligence on potential attacks was off the charts.

In response to this, Israel has massively beefed up its troop level in the capital, including in the city environs and the main entry points. It simultaneously picked up the operational tempo in Palestinian cities nearby. This has been complemented by additional IDF operations in northern Samaria with the goal of containing the hotbed of terrorism there so that there is no spillover effect to Judea and Jerusalem (only recently a senior terrorist was detained in the Jenin Refugee Camp).

As result, there have been two developments in recent days. The first has seen the Palestinian Authority pick up its pace of operations, mainly in Nablus, having realized that it was on the verge of losing control of northern Samaria to the point that it could be toppled. The second has had terrorist organizations drive up their terrorist posture – either through leadership figures in Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas making clear statements on likely attacks or in the form of local initiatives by individuals and cells. Many of the plots are designed to stage revenge for IDF operations in Judea and Samaria – some 100 Palestinians have died in raids since the start of the year, the vast majority of whom were terrorists. 4. Lapid condemns Russia for first time as Prime Minister - Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Yair Lapid condemned Russia’s attacks on civilian targets in Kyiv on Monday night, in the first such statement from an Israeli prime minister.

“I strongly condemn the Russian attackson the civilian population in Kyiv and other cities across Ukraine,” Lapid wrote. “I send our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the Ukrainian people.”

In response, the Russian Embassy in Israel said in a statement that "we heard words of "strong condemnation" from Israeli officials about "Russia's attacks on the civilian population" of the cities of Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Defense of Russia, today the Russian armed forces launched a precision attack on military facilities, communication hubs and the energy infrastructure of Ukraine." 5. Russia in retort to Lapid: Israel stood silent in face of Kyiv’s ‘terrorism’ - Times of Israel

Russia on Monday night fired back at Israel for its condemnation of Moscow’s attacks on Ukrainian cities, saying Jerusalem had failed to do the same for Kyiv’s “terrorist attacks on civilians of Donbass” and numerous “murderous” actions.

The statement by Russia’s embassy in Israel came hours after Prime Minister Yair Lapid voiced his “strong” denunciation of the barrage of fatal bombardments across Ukraine.

The Israeli leader said these targeted “the civilian population in Kyiv and other cities across Ukraine.”

In its comments, the embassy asserted that its attacks were “a high-precision strike on the facilities of military control, communications and energy systems of Ukraine. (Read more)

1.Dem Operatives Behind Network Of Fake News Pop-Up Sites In Battleground States: Report | The Daily Wire

Democratic operatives are flooding battleground states with more than 50 supposedly local media outlets that are really designed to promote liberal candidates, according to a bombshell investigation by Axios.
One man linked to the scheme is David Brock, the one-time conservative journalist who did a 180-degree turn and founded Media Matters For America, the controversial nonprofit that attacks conservative news sites. Axios’ investigative reporters Lachlan Markay and Thomas Wheatley say the operation uses a “patina of independent local news content designed to put a sheen of original reporting on partisan messaging.”
The 51 pop-up sites have names such as the Milwaukee Metro Times, Macomb Digest, Mecklenburg Herald, and the Tri-City Record, and are aimed at key swing states Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin, according to the report.

- Lord, we ask that You give the people discernment to know when they are being lied to. Let no subterfuge prevail over the midterms.

- “A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.” (Proverbs 19:9)

2.PayPal Reverses Plan To Fine Users $2,500 For ‘Misinformation’ After Daily Wire Report | The Daily Wire

A red-faced PayPal walked back a shocking new policy announcement that users who advance “misinformation” could face fines of $2,500 per offense, saying it was all a mistake after The Daily Wire called attention to the chilling scheme.

The financial services company, which has repeatedly deplatformed organizations and individual commentators for their political views, announced Saturday, one day after The Daily Wire story broke, that the announcement went out in error.

“An [Accepted Use Policy] notice recently went out in error that included incorrect information,” a PayPal spokesperson said. “PayPal is not fining people for misinformation and this language was never intended to be inserted in our policy. We’re sorry for the confusion this has caused.”

From this report: New PayPal Policy Lets Company Pull $2,500 From Users’ Accounts If They Promote ‘Misinformation’ | The Daily Wire

- Lord, it’s a very good thing that PayPal retracted its egregious plan. We ask that more of these companies whose lawlessness and bias be held to account.

3.Army releases climate change plan: 'Immediate threat to national security' (americanmilitarynews.com)

The U.S. Army released its new plan to tackle climate change, which the service claims “poses an immediate and serious threat to U.S. national security and affects how and where the Army trains and operates.”

The new “Army Climate Strategy” (ACS) Implementation Plan states that the Army must do more than just “adapt” to climate change because “dangerous levels of greenhouse gases (GHG) have already accumulated in the Earth’s atmosphere.” The service must instead work to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The strategy highlights three main “lines of effort,” including installations, acquisition and logistics, and training. The Army will work toward making sure installations have “resilient energy and water supply, carbon free electricity, efficient and sustainable infrastructure, sustainable land management, and more.

- Lord, at this time of danger in the world, the US Army is focusing on something besides the adversaries of America. We pray for a realignment and truth to help our military be the fighting force of protection they have been previously.

- “Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; he is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.”               (Psalm 144: 1-2)

4. Delaware Supreme Court Blocks No-Excuse Mail-In Voting, Same Day Registration | The Daily Wire

The Delaware Supreme Court has blocked the state’s mail-in voting laws from taking effect.

In an expedited three-page order Friday, the court, en banc, ruled that laws enacted by the Democrat-controlled state legislature and Democratic Governor John Carney earlier this year violated the state constitution. The ruling struck down a law allowing for no-excuse mail-in voting, and another law allowing same-day voter registration. The state supreme court’s ruling upheld a lower court ruling against the vote-by-mail law, and reversed another ruling in favor of the same-day registration law.

“The Vote-by-Mail Statute impermissibly expands the categories of absentee voters identified in Article V, Section 4A of the Delaware Constitution,” the panel of judges wrote in the order. “Therefore, the judgment of the Court of Chancery that the Vote-by-Mail Statute violates the Delaware Constitution should be affirmed.”

- Lord, thank You for this ruling in Delaware. We pray that the upcoming elections will be safe from fraud and foolish plans. We ask that Your Blood cover every ballot, every voter, and every candidate, bringing only truth and Your perfect will.

- “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11)

5.Escape to Alaska: 2 Russians Cross Bering Sea To Dodge Putin’s Draft - Coffee or Die Magazine

Sometimes, you just gotta get away — especially if you’re a Russian man trying to avoid a national mobilization roundup that promises an express ticket to the front lines in Ukraine, where tens of thousands of your countrymen have already died.

Epitomizing the lengths to which some Russian men will go to avoid service in their country’s so-called special military operation against Ukraine, two Russians took a boat some 300 miles across the treacherous waters of the Bering Sea on Tuesday, Oct. 4, seeking asylum in the US.

After landing in the small Alaskan seaside community of Gambell, located on remote St. Lawrence Island, the two seafarers told locals they’d fled the Russian military, Alaska’s News Source reported. The pair reportedly embarked from the northeastern Russian city of Egvekinot, a journey of some 300 miles from Gambell.

In a joint statement with fellow Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan, Sen. Lisa Murkowski referred to the two Russians as “asylum seekers.” This situation underscores the need for a stronger security posture in America’s Arctic,” Murkowski said in the Thursday joint statement.

- Lord, we ask for stronger security on all of America’s borders.

- “Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.”  (Proverbs 11:29)

6.AP Fabricates "Completely False Story" To Smear DeSantis, Then Deletes | ZeroHedge

On Thursday, the Associated Press fabricated a story about residents on Florida's Pine Island, who they claimed "have stayed put for days without electricity and other resources while hoping the lone bridge to the mainland is repaired" after Hurricane Ian.

Except, the bridge was repaired the day before.

DeSantis spox Christina Pushaw (recipient of her own backfired hit-pieces) tweeted in response; "Today, @AP tweeted out a *completely false* story about SWFL, fabricated by a “reporter” in Minneapolis who hasn’t gone near Florida since Hurricane Ian," adding "After getting ratioed, AP deleted it. These are the self-appointed “fact checkers” who want to censor you for “disinformation”"

- Lord, we take authority over these falsehoods and bind them tightly. We ask that Your Spirit be loosed to expose the lies and cause the people to see and hear the truth.

- “For this people's heart has grown dull, and with their ears they can barely hear, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.’” (Matthew 13:15)

7.Austin Orders Renaming of Bases that Honor Confederate Rebels | Military.com

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Thursday signed off on an independent commission's recommendations to rename military bases that honor Confederate officers and scrub a long list of references commemorating the southern rebellion.

The Naming Commission, established by Congress last year, took inventory of all of the military's contemporary references to the Confederecy, which waged war against the United States to preserve the slave trade. It found nine Army bases and several buildings commemorating rebel officers, in addition to a monument honoring Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

"The names of these installations and facilities should inspire all those who call them home, fully reflect the history and the values of the United States, and commemorate the best of the republic that we are all sworn to protect," Austin, the first Black defense secretary, said in a statement in which he said he agreed with the commission's recommendations.

- Lord, we pray that only Your perfect will be done in this climate of historical changes. Many military members have ancestors who fought on the side of the Confederates, and this action could create even more friction.

- “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;” (James 1:19)

8. Red Wave? Democrats Forced to Abandon Key House Races (townhall.com)

With barely more than one month remaining until the midterm elections, the leading entities tasked with helping Democrats win and retain seats in the House of Representatives say they are running out of money and scrambling to decide which Democrats get the remaining cash available to try and dampen the expected red wave heading for Speaker Nancy Pelosi's gavel.

Whining to The Washington Post, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Executive Director Tim Persico said there "are places that I don’t know if we are going to be able to get to" in order to help Democrats. "We are just getting outspent everywhere, so it is just a question of how much can we withstand."

That makes the DCCC one of several groups WaPo said Friday morning were discovering they "lack the funds needed to fully contest all of their potentially winnable House races this cycle," leading to "tough decisions about where to spend on television ads" as Democrats get outspent by GOP groups.

- Lord, we ask that all candidates that love You will be elected and those that do not will fall to the wayside. Let all elections not be about money or lies and falsehoods, but about integrity and truth.

- “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.” (Proverbs 10:9)

9. Mayor of Sanctuary City NYC Declares State Of Emergency as Thousands of Illegals are Bussed into the City - DC Enquirer

New York Mayor and radical liberal Eric Adams declared a public state of emergency Thursday, as migrants have continued to be bussed into his city from border states like Texas and Arizona.

Adams contends this will help the City to better deal with the influx of illegal migrants. They believe the city is on pace to spend nearly 1 billion dollars on migrant related costs in the fiscal year. They also maintain the number of migrants in the city is without precedent — numbering upwards of 17,000.

“With more than 17,000 asylum seekers bussed to the city since the spring, the Adams administration estimates that once the asylum seekers from today’s buses are provided shelter, the city will surpass the highest number of people in recorded history in its shelter system. And every day going forward, where more are added this count, another record will be broken. If the pace continues, the city’s shelter census will surpass 100,000 in the coming year.”

- Lord, when these cities declared themselves “sanctuary cities,” they did not think their actions through. We ask that all American cities big and small begin to exercise wisdom instead of politics as usual.

- “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.” (Proverbs 19:20)

10. Cyberattacks reported at US airports - ABC News

Some of the nation's largest airports have been targeted for Monday by an attacker within the Russian Federation, a senior official briefed on the situation confirmed to ABC News.
Importantly, the systems targeted do not handle air traffic control, internal airline communications and coordination or transportation security. "It's an inconvenience," the source said. The attacks have resulted in targeted "denial of public access" to public-facing web domains that report airport wait times and congestion.

The attacks were first reported around 3 a.m. ET when the Port Authority notified the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency that the LaGuardia Airport system had been hit. LaGuardia has been restored, but other airports around the country have subsequently been targeted. The websites for Des Moines International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport appeared impacted Monday morning. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport reported around 10:30 a.m. ET that its site is back up and running and that "at no time were operations at the airport impacted."

Over a dozen airport websites were impacted by the "denial of service" attack, John Hultquist, head of intelligence analysis at cybersecurity firm Mandiant, told ABC News. That type of attack essentially overloads sites by jamming them with artificial users. "Killnet," a pro-Russian hacker group, is believed to be behind the attack, according to Hultquist. While similar groups have been found to be fronts for state-backed actors, Hultquist said there is no evidence the Russian government was involved in directing this attack. (Read more)

- Lord God, we are grateful that this cyberattack affected only the travelers' ability to connect with the airports or the airlines. We thank You, too, for the quick action taken by our own authorities with this incident. Help us, O Lord, to be ever vigilant against this new line of modern-day warfare: cyberattacks. In Your Name, amen and amen.

- "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

The Curse Of A Lack Of Common Sense

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, October 10, 2022

It takes no real genius to discern that America is in terrible shape economically, socially and morally. The headlines alone offer little hope for the immediate future. And when one looks toward the future, there are tremendous clouds on the horizon. Schools are sexualizing children. Parents are allowing school systems and local governments to sexually molest their children with the immoral abomination of the homosexual, transexual, and any other sexual deviant concepts. Is this the future our country—pink and green haired, pierced, inked leaders that have no idea whether they are men or women, and can’t make a common sense decision to even save themselves?

The leaders of America are no better. Those who are supposed to stand for the truth have abandoned the truth to follow a political religion of communism, where government is god, wrong is right, and science is political rather than practical. The media has utterly failed to report the truth. It is in league with an unholy alliance of government and industry that has abandoned any sense of propriety to the citizenry. If they say “stakeholder capitalism,” they mean each of us must bend to their leftist ideals or not be a part of society. If they say “democracy,” they mean people who can be controlled economically and socially are to be made to believe they have control over their lives. Read More

Zelenskyy’s Adviser Podolyak: Putin Lost Control over Secret Service, Coup Brewing in Russia

Mykhailo Podolyak, a Ukrainian politician, journalist, and negotiator, serving as the adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on Saturday declared that President Vladimir Putin has lost control of his intelligence agencies, UNIAN reported. Podolyak also suggested it was likely Russian law enforcement agencies who are embroiled in an internal war that caused the explosions on the Crimean bridge Saturday morning.

According to TASS, on Saturday morning, a truck exploded on the Crimea Bridge, setting on fire the fuel tanks of a freight train running near its rail part. Three people were killed and two eastbound sections of the bridge’s road part collapsed. A government commission of inquiry chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was set up after the accident.

Ukrainian Defense Forces Spokesperson Natalya Gumenyuk commented that now the Russians “will not be able to use another transport artery,” in particular, the railway. She added that Ukraine is “quite happy about it.”

According to Zelenskyy’s adviser, the situation in the Russian Federation may well develop into a coup, and military personnel have already been detained in Moscow. He argued that setting up the explosions required a thorough familiarity with the logistics of the bridge’s management, available only to the Russian special services.

In his opinion, this and other processes indicate that the prerequisites for a coup d’état are developing in Russian society, but it’s too early to tell when it would happen. However, it can already be argued that the process of destruction of the power infrastructure, long Putin’s backbone, has begun. (Jewish Press) Read more here.

‘I Had One Hand on the Door About to Go Into Planned Parenthood’: After FBI Raid, Couple Praises Mark Houck for Saving Their Baby’s Life
‘I Had One Hand on the Door About to Go Into Planned Parenthood’: After FBI Raid, Couple Praises Mark Houck for Saving Their Baby’s Life
A couple who were preparing to abort their unborn child are crediting embattled pro-life activist Mark Houck with helping change their minds while also stopping them from a lifetime of regret. Jadda and Jakeem, who have a daughter named Nevaeh, shared their story in a recently posted YouTube video by the Pro-Life Union of Greater Philadelphia, praising Houck and pro-lifers for encouraging and supporting them.

“I had one hand on the door about to go into Planned Parenthood, and then Mark stopped us, and he was like, ‘You guys don’t have to do this,'” Jadda explained.
Houck’s decision to step into the gap and help the couple overcome fear encouraged them to turn back, cancel the abortion, and have their baby. “We talked to him and he really got through to us,” Jakeem said. “He opened my eyes to a lot of stuff.”

As Faithwire previously reported, the FBI used a major show of force last month to arrest Houck, 48, with dozens of agents reportedly descending on his home with guns drawn as Houck’s wife and children looked on in horror.

Jadda and Jakeem named their baby Nevaeh — “heaven” spelled backward — and they adore her. “We named her Nevaeh because she is exactly heaven-sent,” Jada said. “A gift straight from God himself.” She said she’s glad Mark convinced them to rethink the abortion, pondering what might have happened if the couple had gone through with it.
“I would have been living with regret,” Jada said. (FaithWire.com) Read more here.
- Holy father we PRAISE You for this story of LIFE!! Bless this couple as they give testimony to the amazing gift of keeping their precious baby. May this story influence the nation and be an encouragement to many! We ask Your Hem of protection over Mark Houck and his family. We declare in Jesus name that his faithful service of saving babies lives will bring him Your favor and blessings beyond measure!  Amen.

Praying Judge From Texas Wins Major Victory in Appeals Court Ruling
Praying Judge From Texas Wins Major Victory in Appeals Court Ruling

After a lengthy legal battle, a Texas judge can continue opening his courtroom proceedings with prayer, according to a split ruling from a New Orleans-based appeals court.

What happened?

The Freedom From Religion Foundation targeted Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack in 2019 over the judge’s custom of starting each court day with a few minutes of prayer delivered by faith leaders from the community, according to Reuters.

On Thursday, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals voted 2-1 in favor of Mack, rejecting the FFRF’s claim that invocations could be viewed as prejudicial. The judges ruled Mack can continue allowing chaplains and ministers to pray at the start of legal proceedings as long as he extends the invitation to leaders from different faith backgrounds and does not impose consequences on anyone who declines to participate.

The judges stated in their opinion the FFRF claim was simply not reasonable.

“We cannot credit the plaintiffs’ assertion that ‘coercion in a courtroom doesn’t come from the imposition of actual prejudice; it comes from a perceived risk of prejudice,'” they wrote. “The plaintiffs must present evidence that any such perception is objectively reasonable — evidence from which we can conclude that ‘coercion is a real and substantial likelihood.'”

Mack, for his part, said in a statement he is “eternally grateful” for the circuit court ruling.

“I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Montgomery County,” he said.

- Father God, we thank You that this judge's actions in prayer have been vindicated. We come against any form of
backlash, and we offer You all the praise, amen!

Iconic landmarks suffer damage following
volcano-produced wildfire
The fire occurred just months after the tourist area was reopened following a years-long closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The damage "can’t be undone,” the local mayor said.

On Monday, Easter Island’s Rano Raraku volcano erupted, causing a wildfire that swept through the Rano Raraku area and damaged the island's iconic stone heads.

Rano Raraku is also known as the moai statue quarry, where about 400 stone heads are scattered. About half of the iconic statues -- a popular draw for tourists -- were finished, while the rest never reached a completed state, according to an Easter Island travel website.

Some of the stone heads, which have stood for at least 500 years if not much longer, may now be permanently damaged as the fire burned around 250 acres of the quarry.

The remote, volcanic island in Polynesia is a Chilean territory, despite being located in the southeastern Pacific Ocean and 2,200 miles away from mainland Chile.

This national park was designated as a statue-making factory in 1935 because of the tuff rock that was found on it, according to Chile’s National Forest Corporation website.

The fire came just three months after the island opened back up to tourism following two years of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic. The fire has once again delayed the island’s ability to bring in tourism revenue.

“The damage caused by the fire can't be undone,” said Pedro Edmunds, the mayor of Easter Island. Read More

FL Sustains Biggest Search and Rescue Since 9/11:

Operation Blessing Helping Churches 'Be the Hands and Feet of Jesus'
Hurricane Ian is now responsible for more than 100 deaths, mostly in Florida.New images of the devastation are coming out each day as search and rescue teams focus their efforts on barrier islands cut off when the storm destroyed bridges and causeways connecting them to the mainland. On one of the islands, crews are dumping gravel to create a makeshift road for first responders and aid workers. Governor Ron DeSantis says 1,900 rescues have occurred so far. "There's more urban search and rescue teams in Florida now than any one place in American history since September 11th," he said.

CBN's Operation Blessing has been on the ground in Florida, working with churches in several communities to distribute relief. In Cape Coral, a semi-truck delivered relief supplies to Crosspoint Christian Church. The crew unloaded pallets of bottled water, Home Depot cleaning supply buckets, emergency meals, and Gatorade. Pastor Matt Swearingen told us the supplies will enable the church to help meet the basic needs of their community. "We want to continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We want to get right into action serving our community, and without a partner like Operation Blessing, we're just not able to provide those resources in the same way because they're not available here," he explained.

The needs of survivors in southwestern Florida are massive. You can help with the relief effort by calling 1-800-700-7000, or texting "OB CRISIS" to 71777. (CBN) Read More Here
- Lord we praise You for always being our provision and safe shelter when we are in need. Continue to bless Your people, so they may be blessings to those suffering in Florida. May You bring comfort to the State of Florida and allow us to be Your hands and feet for the cause of Christ. In Jesus name, Amen.

- "And. let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful."  (Titus 3:14)

Trust and Obey

Words: John Sammis
Music: Daniel Towner

Scripture: O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in You. Psalm 84:11–12

Lyrics:
When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Refrain

Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss,
Not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

Refrain

But we never can prove
The delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows,
For the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

Refrain

Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet.
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Refrain
