GIVING THANKS
"We Gather Together"

Theodore Baker, 1894

We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing;
He chastens and hastens His will to make known.
The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing.
Sing praises to His Name; He forgets not His own.

Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining,
Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine;
So from the beginning the fight we were winning;
Thou, Lord, were at our side, all glory be Thine!

We all do extol Thee, Thou Leader triumphant,
And pray that Thou still our Defender will be.
Let Thy congregation escape tribulation;
Thy Name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free!

Missouri law requiring photo ID to vote remains intact: 'Huge win for election security'

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey said a state law requiring a photo ID to vote being upheld in court is a "huge win for election security."

"Missouri proved today how to handle radical activists that come into a state with secure elections and try to undermine them through the legal process," Bailey said in an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital.

Bailey added that this was a huge victory for the Show Me State.

"We went to court, we put on the evidence, and radical activists working to undermine our elections FAILED. This is a HUGE win for election security," Bailey said in a post on X. (Read more)

- Thank You Father, for standing with those who are willing to fight for justice and righteousness.  We praise You that the courts decided on behalf of the law of the land rather than the drama of the day.  We pray for more states to be bold and courageous to follow suit and demand voter ID to verify legal voters and validate their legitimate addresses and ballots, in Jesus name.

- "Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord?  Who can declare all His praise?  Blessed are those who keep justice, And he who does righteousness at all times!"  (Psalm 106:2-3)

Climate activists learn fate for red powder attack on US Constitution at National Archives
Federal authorities said the pair caused $58,000 in damage within National Archives Rotunda

A pair of climate activists who vandalized the National Archives Rotunda back in February when they dumped red powder on the encasement protecting the U.S. Constitution have learned their fate.

Donald Zepeda, 35, of Maryland, and Jackson Green, 27, of Utah, were sentenced to 24 months in prison and 18 months, respectively, in the Feb. 14, 2024, attack on the U.S. Constitution housed at the National Archives in Washington D.C., U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge David Geist of the Washington Field Office Criminal and Cyber Division announced on Monday.

Zepeda pleaded guilty on Aug. 15 to felony destruction of property for dumping a fine red powder over a display case containing the U.S. Constitution in the Rotunda of the Archives building.

The cost of cleaning up after the stunt, which was intended to draw attention to climate change, exceeded $58,000, officials said. (Read more)

- We are blessed to see a strong punishment meted out to these two who care more about their personal agenda than the heritage and history of our great nation.  We pray that they will do no further harm to anything or anyone and that they will have an irresistible opportunity to make peace with God and receive Jesus as their Savior.

- "Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need."  (Eph. 4:28)

Democrats no longer 'party of the people' as Trump transforms Republican Party: NY Times analyst

New York Times political analyst Nate Cohn argued in a new piece that President-elect Donald Trump "shattered" the Democratic Party's dreams of a new multicultural majority by appealing to the working class and depriving liberals of their fading appeal to non-college-educated voters.

"The overarching pattern is clear," Cohn wrote in an article Monday. "In election after election, Democrats underperformed among traditional Democratic constituencies during the Trump era. Sometimes, it was merely a failure to capitalize on his unpopularity. Other times, it was a staggering decline in support. Together, it has shattered Democratic dreams of building a new majority with the rise of a new generation of young and nonwhite voters."

"This overarching pattern requires an overarching explanation: Mr. Trump’s populist conservatism corroded the foundations of the Democratic Party’s appeal," Cohn wrote. "It tapped into many of the issues and themes that once made these voters Democrats."

Cohn argued that Democrats did not fully capitalize on Trump's unpopularity and also faced a "staggering decline" in support.

Democratic pessimism about the party's future is at its highest point in eight years, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Republicans, on the other hand, are riding high and have the most optimistic outlook about their party recorded since the 2016 election, Trump's last presidential victory. (Read more)

- Oh HalleluJah! We rejoice that the democrat party is being seen for what it actually represents –  globalism, Godlessness and death to the unborn or infirm.  We speak life, hope and righteousness over this nation and pray for a multitude of souls to come into the Kingdom of God. May believers be strong and courageous to speak redemption over the Republican party and release God's goodness into the hearts and souls of we, the people from every party, every culture, every belief, in Jesus' holy name.  Let God arise and His enemies be scattered (Psalm 68:1a).

"Ascribe strength to God; His excellence is over Israel, And His strength is in the clouds. O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places.  The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!"  (Psalm 68:34-35)

1. Cabinet approves: Lebanon ceasefire to take effect at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow - Israel National News

The Israeli Cabinet on Tuesday evening approved the ceasefire deal brokered by the US in Lebanon.

The ceasefire agreement will go into effect at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, according to US President Joe Biden.

The Prime Minister's Office stated, "The Security Cabinet, this evening (Tuesday, 26 November 2024), in a 10-1 vote, approved the US proposal for a ceasefire arrangement in Lebanon. Israel appreciates the US contribution to the process, and maintains its right to act against any threat to its security." (Read more)

2. Israel Will Show ‘Zero Tolerance’ for Lebanon Ceasefire Violations, Defense Chief Tells UN Envoy - Algemeiner

Israel will have “zero tolerance” for any breach of a ceasefire deal in Lebanon and is prepared to act “with great force” in response to any such violations, Israel’s defense chief said on Tuesday.

“We will act against any threat, anytime, and anywhere,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz told Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, the UN’s special envoy for Lebanon, when meeting her in Tel Aviv, according a statement from his office.

Katz also demanded “effective enforcement” from the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), the international peacekeeping organization in the country.

“If you don’t do it, we will, and with great force,” he said, according to the Israeli readout. (Read more)

3. Israel hits 20 sites in Beirut within 2 minutes, in major offensive ahead of truce - Times of Israel

Israel launched a wave of simultaneous airstrikes Tuesday afternoon on 20 Hezbollah targets in the terror group’s Dahiyeh stronghold in southern Beirut, shortly before the security cabinet was set to convene and approve a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces said that for the first time in 24 years, its soldiers had reached a portion of the Litani River, where it runs relatively close to the border.

After issuing an unusually broad evacuation warning for 20 buildings in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, a Hezbollah stronghold, the IDF said that within two minutes, it had struck all 20 sites. (Read more)

4.  Israel announces preliminary work on fence along entire border with Jordan - Times of Israel

The Defense Ministry on Tuesday said it had begun carrying out work to establish a fence along the entire border with Jordan to prevent infiltrations into the country — an expensive undertaking that has made little progress in the past.

The move to upgrade defenses along the 309-kilometer (192-mile) border running from Eilat through the West Bank to the tip of the Golan Heights, ordered by new Defense Minister Israel Katz, is the latest attempt by the government to take up the plan, which has long been bandied about but never advanced.

The ministry said Tuesday it was undertaking “detailed engineering planning” for the fence. This planning phase will cost tens of millions of shekels and is expected to last several months. (Read more)

5. IDF Soldiers Reach Lebanon’s Litani River - Jewish Press

Israeli soldiers destroyed Hezbollah infrastructure in the areas of the Litani River and Saluki district of southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Tuesday.

The Litani River represents the border between southern Lebanon and the rest of the country. Hezbollah is barred from operating south of the Litani River according to UN Security Council resolution 1701, which ended the Second War in Lebanon in 2006.

“These operations, conducted in the challenging and mountainous terrain, have significantly disrupted enemy capabilities and dismantled critical threats,” the IDF said.

1. Defense Rests In Daniel Penny Trial, Closing Arguments To Begin After Thanksgiving - Daily Wire

Daniel Penny’s defense team rested its case on Friday without the defendant taking the stand.

Penny chose not to testify in his own defense, which would have subjected him to cross-examination from a prosecution that referred to him as “the white man” and claimed race was a factor in his decision to put Jordan Neely in a chokehold.

Thomas Kenniff, one of Penny’s defense attorneys, said after court adjourned on Friday that jurors did hear from Penny – through his recorded statements to police, the Associated Press reported.

“Virtually everything he said then is consistent with credible testimony of his fellow passengers,” Kenniff said, according to the outlet.

Penny’s first interrogation with police – during which he was not told that Neely had died – showed him telling detectives that he never wanted to hurt Neely and was just trying to keep him from harming other passengers.

“Some guy came in, and he’s like with his jacket off and he’s like, ‘I’m gonna kill everybody. I’m gonna go to prison forever. I don’t care,’” Penny told detectives in the video played in court. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for justice in this courtroom and upon the judge and jury on behalf of Daniel Penny, in Jesus name. It has the same feeling as the George Floyd issue, and we pray that this will be kept under the shadow of Your wings Mighty God, and that the decision is according to the law and righteous judgment, in Jesus name.  We ask You to hold Daniel Penny in the palm of Your hand and encourage him in this evil journey and we pray for Godly outcome.

- "The Lord is righteous in all His ways, Gracious in all His works.  The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth."  (Psalm 145:17-18)

2. ‘Sarah’ McBride Isn’t Just A Congressman In A Dress But A Trojan Horse To Force Men Into Women’s Spaces Everywhere - The Federalist

McBride and his allies want women to give up privacy and safety, and all of us to give up our integrity and become complicit in their lies.

The state of Delaware has elected a dude in a dress to the House of Representatives. Sarah (formerly Tim) McBride is a man who pretends to be a woman, and he will be going to Congress next year, which has provoked a fight over where he will, well, go when he is in Congress next year.

A battle that has been raging across the country has come to the Capitol — what happens if and when Mr. McBride decides to start strolling into the ladies’ restrooms? House Republicans, who have and will maintain a slim majority, are trying to figure out a response. They are undoubtedly tempted to try to avoid the issue, but the lesson they should have learned by now is that they cannot. (Read more)

- Father, we pray for women to continue to stand firm and strong, fighting for their right to be safe and protected in this culture and men who wish to violate women would be charged and prosecuted, no matter their physical characteristics, in Jesus name.  We bring this issue of humans trying to switch their gender for some reason before You, O King and ask that You would bring it to a halt, in Jesus name.  We pray that somehow people would know that You are the author of their lives and that every cell of human DNA carries the marker of gender, male or female, and it cannot be changed.  We pray Holy One, for this issue to be a catalyst for the love of the Savior to reach into the spirit of the confused people, in Jesus name.

- "'Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit.  For why should you die, O house of Israel?  For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,' says the Lord God. 'Therefore turn and live!'"  (Ezekiel 18:31-32)

3. Johnson Calls On Biden to Use Executive Power To Halt Mass Illegal Immigration - Conservative Brief

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is demanding that President Joe Biden use his Executive Branch authority to order stricter enforcement of immigration and border security laws and policies after he reversed nearly all of former President Donald Trump’s policies on his first day in office.

According to a letter reviewed by Axios, the Speaker said Biden must use his authority to halt the waves of migrants crossing illegally into the U.S. on a daily basis while overwhelming U.S. Border Patrol resources.

“We passed H.R. 2 more than six months ago, but Senate Democrats have refused to act on it,” Johnson writes, referencing Republicans’ tough border package. “While a bipartisan group of Senators has begun extensive negotiations over the past few weeks to try to find a compromise, they have not yet been able to finalize an agreement.”

Among the policies he recommended, Johnson said Biden should reimpose Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy that required asylum seekers to stay south of the border while their cases were adjudicated by U.S. immigration courts. (Read more)

- Holy One, it is good to see that Speaker Johnson is making an effort at getting a positive response from the White House. As noted, there has been legislation passed, but it seems that it's not bipartisan. We thank You Father that President Trump will come into office soon and be able to reverse course on the immigration disaster. We pray for him and Tom Hohman and every other key leader on the front lines of the border.  Watch over them Abba, and keep them safe, while allowing them to be effective in changing the course and character of events on the southern border of the United States, in Jesus name.

- 'And the Lord has sent to you all His servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, but you have not listened nor inclined your ear to hear.  They said, "Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers forever and ever."  (Jeremiah 25:4-5)

4. Salvadoran Toddler Traveled Alone to U.S. Border to Find Parents, Says Texas DPS - Breitbart

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers found a two-year-old Salvadoran migrant girl who they say traveled by herself to the U.S. border with Mexico in search of her parents. The little girl crossed the border from Mexico into Texas with a large group of migrants, including 60 unaccompanied migrant children.

Incoming Trump administration Border Czar Tom Homan posted a report showing a two-year-old Salvadoran unaccompanied minor holding a note with a contact name and phone number. He reports that Texas DPS troopers found the little girl in a group of 211 migrants. The group included 59 other unaccompanied migrant children.

The large migrant group crossed the border from Mexico into Maverick County, Texas.

The large migrant group crossing took place early Sunday morning, according to a post on social media by DPS spokesman Lieutenant Chris Olivarez. The DPS spokesman said the 60 unaccompanied migrant children ranged in age from two to 17.

The migrant group also included six more Special Interest Aliens from Mali and Angola. (Read more)

- Mighty God, this story is so heart-breaking, but not unexpected. We pray for the lives of these little ones to be preserved and valued and may they be safely returned home to family and culture, in Jesus name.   We know that we have simply not been hearing the stories of children going through such horrific experiences as this journey across nations and borders, in the hands of vile coyotes, cartels and unknown people, wild animals, hunger and lack.  Oh dear God, how many children – we know there are more than 300,000 that have been counted and missing in this nation alone.  Strengthen the border patrol, ICE, immigration, whoever is responsible for righteousness, empower them please Father and we bind and rebuke those who have been trafficking children up and down Central America to the U.S. border and pray for a screeching halt to this unspeakable evil against the littlest ones, in Jesus name.

- "'Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for Is ay to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.'"  (Matthew 18:10)

"'Woe to the world because of offenses! For offenses must come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!'"  (Matthew 18:7)

5. Rand Paul Opposes Key Element of Trump's Deportation Plan, Threatens to Vote Against It - Western Journal

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky said Sunday he will oppose any parts of President-elect Donald trump’s deportation plan that require the use of military force.

“You know, I’m 100 percent supportive of going after the 15,000 murderers, the 13,000 sexual assault perpetrators, rapists, all these people. Let’s send them on their way to prison or back home to another prison,” Paul said Sunday during an appearance on CBS News program “Face the Nation,” according to a viral video clip posted to X.

But Paul said one aspect that has been discussed is beyond the law.

“But you don’t do it with the Army because it’s illegal,” he said.

“But I will tell you, but just in the last week, with the belief that a new administration will change things, there were four or five criminals arrested in the last week. And what would happen, and I think what will happen under Donald Trump’s administration is, I don’t recommend to use the army, but I would use the FBI, I would use ICE, I would use Border Patrol,” he said, estimating about 30,000 dangerous illegal immigrants are in the country now who deserve to be deported. (Read more)

- Holy King, this is certainly a sticky wicket, because it may well be illegal, unless we are being invaded by warriors from foreign countries, at which time I would expect to see the military protecting and defending our nation. Nevertheless, we have clearly seen this last year how much President Trump is a follower of the rule of law, so we fully believe that he will not break the law to enforce deportations. May this entire matter come completely under Your divine purview and result in justice, redemption, and restoration for cities and people, Jesus, in Your name.

- "For as many as have sinned without law will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God but the doers of the law will be justified"  (Romans 2:12-13)

6. Trump announces massive tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China - The Blaze

He made the proclamation on his social media account.

President-elect Donald Trump appeared ready to take action on his threat to hit other countries with tariffs in order to obtain foreign policy goals.

On Monday, he announced via social media tariffs on the countries Canada, Mexico, and China over immigration and other concerns.

"As everyone is aware, thousands of people are pouring through Mexico and Canada, bringing Crime and Drugs at levels never seen before. Right now a Caravan coming from Mexico, composed of thousands of people, seems to be unstoppable in its quest to come through our currently Open Border," Trump wrote.

"On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders. This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country!" he added. (Read more)

- Mighty One, it is a blessing to see a leader who does what he says he will, expeditiously and without concessions, in Jesus name.  We pray for these tariffs to be powerful deterrents to nations who have disrespected our borders and boundaries because of dishonorable border management. We thank You Abba, for this opportunity to renew the dignity of our nation and restore some of the finances that have gone into the wind over these last years, in Jesus name.

- "'Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord–that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your "Yes" be "Yes," and your "No," "No," lest you fall into judgment.'"    (James 5:11-12)

The Daily Jot

The Biden Poison Pill

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, November 26, 2024

Would a current US president try to destroy the country to maintain power? A person may have to suspend all disbelief to accept such a dastardly act, but it appears that the current Administration is doing just that. Yes, it is all wrapped around the idea of “peaceful transfer of power,” but beyond that idea is the very reality that Joe Biden and his handlers appear to be taking the “poison pill” to disrupt the country so much that the will of the voters is totally undermined. Look at the picture: US missiles used against Russia, the rush to bring in as many illegal immigrants as possible before January 20, billions of dollars to terrorist groups under the guise of humanitarianism, last second judicial appointments.

The “poison pill” is a technique used in the corporate world to prevent a hostile takeover of a company. The owners of the company essentially destroy many of the assets of the company to make it completely unattractive for a takeover. Herein, Biden and the Democratic Party have been saying for four years that Donald Trump must be stopped at all costs. It appears by the actions of Biden and the democrats that they are doing everything in their power to undermine the country before Trump takes office. Their thirst for power is hidden behind the mirage of peaceful transfer and the belief that they are saving democracy in America. In short, the strategy appears to be destroy “democracy” to save it. What it really means is destroy the Republic in favor of their brand of socialist democracy, which is tyranny. Read More

Signs & Wonders
This was the Mayflower, the ship that took two months to cross the Atlantic from Plymouth and gave birth to Thanksgiving
Feast, family, football, friendship... but what was the story behind the sailing flower where it all originated?

In September 1620, the Mayflower set sail from Plymouth, England, carrying 102 passengers on a mission they likely romanticized before reality hit. These passengers, now celebrated as the Pilgrims, weren’t the first to cross the Atlantic – but their voyage turned out to be one of the most storied in American history. And for good reason: it was a slog. Sixty-six days of cramped, leaky misery aboard a ship designed for hauling wine and dry goods, not people.

The passengers crammed into the Mayflower’s gun deck, a space with a very low ceiling, shared their journey with livestock and the occasional bucket of seawater. Strong westerly gales pummeled the ship, which didn’t help the already bleak sanitary conditions. Leaks sprang, tempers flared, and seasickness, while common, was probably the least of anyone’s worries.

Where did the Mayflower land?

The Pilgrims were fleeing religious persecution, but noble aspirations didn’t make the Atlantic any less brutal. After over two months of rough seas, on November 9, 1620, they finally spotted land: Cape Cod. It was a huge relief – except it wasn’t where they’d intended to end up. They’d been aiming for the Hudson River, but heavy weather had other ideas. Read More
