The FBI says it stopped a possible terrorist attack in Houston
|
|
Federal law enforcement officials said Thursday (November 14) that they stopped a Texas man from carrying out a possible terrorist attack in Houston. "Any day we can publicly say that is a good day," the FBI's Houston field office said on social media. Anas Said, 28, was charged last month with attempting to provide material support to the terrorist group ISIS, according to an indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Texas. Said was arrested last week at the Houston apartment complex where he is alleged to have planned the attack, said the FBI, which accused him of bragging that he would commit "a 9/11-style" attack if he had the resources.
Said is alleged to have told federal agents that he created propaganda for the terrorist group, considered attacking members of the U.S. military and discussed researching the locations and physical layouts of synagogues and the Israeli Consulate in Houston, federal court documents show. Said sought to understand the security measures at those sites and "openly acknowledged that he wants to fight against and kill proponents of Israel," the documents allege. According to a detention memo filed in the case, Said had been posting pro-ISIS messages or buying its propaganda since 2017. Federal agents interviewed numerous times about his desire to travel to Lebanon, where he is from, and his “affinity" for Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, a former ISIS spokesperson, according to the documents. Ukraine Fires US-Made Long-Range Missiles for First Time—What Does This Mean?
|
|
A Ukrainian missile attack on western Russia appears to have confirmed reports of a U.S. decision to allow Kyiv to fire American long-range missiles at targets inside Russian territory.
On Nov. 19, Moscow reported that six ballistic missiles had been fired by Kyiv into Russia’s western Bryansk region.
Five were successfully downed by air defenses, the ministry said, adding that falling debris had set a military facility ablaze without causing deaths or injuries.
“According to confirmed data, U.S.-made ATACMS [Army Tactical Missile Systems] ... have been used,” the defense ministry said in a statement.
According to experts, the apparent shift in U.S. policy could tilt the dynamic in Ukraine’s favor after months of Russian gains on the battlefield.
“The ability to use long-range weapons will make quite a big difference to Ukrainian capabilities,” Andrew Corbett, a UK-based defense analyst, told The Epoch Times.
“Allowing Ukraine to strike at [logistics] hubs deep inside Russian areas will be a major factor in future developments,” said Corbett, a lecturer at the Defense Studies Department at King’s College London.
“Russia will have to pull its logistic hubs further back [away from the frontline] … or run the much higher risk of seeing its supply lines destroyed.” (Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Abba, it is just amazing the cowardice and hatred of America being shown by the Obama-Biden regime by authorizing US long range missiles to be used by Ukraine to attack Russia, just as they leave office. Mr. Putin has said he would regard this step as a direct attack by the US and all NATO allies on his country. The Obama-Biden regime is doing all it can to force our nation into a direct conflict with Russia as it abandons its responsibility to protect us from war!!!
- Father God, we say NO to all plans that the outgoing administration has put into place with the intentions of creating chaos and world war. Holy Spirit, we ask You to move in President Putin's heart, give him wisdom to see the true intentions of Obama and Biden in this decision, guide him to "hold back" from a response until President-Elect Trump is back in office. Jesus, we ask for Your hand of protection over our country and all nations in NATO until this situation can be resolved peacefully. We ask this in the name Jehovah Sabaoth, The Host of Heaven's Armies.
- "Too long have I lived among those
who hate peace.
I am for peace; but when I speak,
they are for war."
(Psalm 120:6-7)

|
|
The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, issued a warning after receiving "specific information of a potential significant air attack" allegedly taking place on Wednesday.
The embassy in Ukraine's capital is temporarily closed following the alert and employees are being asked to prepare to shelter in place.
"The U.S. Embassy recommends U.S. citizens be prepared to immediately shelter in the event an air alert is announced," the statement said.
Employees have been asked to take the following actions:
- Monitor local media for updates
- Identify shelter locations in advance of any air alert
- Immediately take shelter if an air alert is announced
- Follow the directions of Ukrainian officials and first responders in the event of an emergency
This comes after Ukraine fired American-supplied long-range missiles into Russia on Tuesday, marking the first time for Kyiv to do so in the 1,000 days of war, which was authorized by President Biden on Sunday. (Fox News) Read more here.

- Abba, we ask for protection for all US citizens that are working in our Embassy in Kyiv. Father God, please forgive the Obama-Biden regime's decision to allow US missiles to be fired into Russian territory, giving President Putin reason to attack the US Embassy. Father God, we ask You to intervene for our nation in the face of such disregard for American lives, we ask You to speak to President Putin, give him understanding and wisdom, show him Your response and give him the grace to implement what You show him, let him respond in Your way not man's way. We ask this in the name Jehovah Jireh, The Lord Will Provide.
- "If you say, "The Lord is my refuge," and you
make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you, no disaster
will come near your tent."

Report: Anti-Israel Protestors Arrested in US Senate Building
|
|
Authorities responded to anti-Israel protestors occupying a U.S. Senate office building on Tuesday afternoon.
The large group of protesters was captured on video inside the Philip A. Hart Senate Office Building as they shouted their demand for an end to the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
Many of the protesters were seen wearing red T-shirts emblazoned with the words “STOP ARMING ISRAEL.”
Demonstrators were seen on multiple floors of the building, with some throwing sticky notes bearing that same phrase from the upper floor balconies into the atrium. Some were hanging banners that said, “time to act” and “fund Life not genocide.”
It was unclear how many arrests police made related to the protest. (American Liberty News) Read more and view photos here.

- Abba, we ask that this be the last "acting out" of a mind set in this nation that gives permission to groups to invade and do damage to public buildings based on their own perceptions of circumstances around the world. We decree and declare this spirit of lawlessness is silenced and broken off of our nation, in Jesus' name. Holy Spirit, we ask You to send out Your warrior angels to do battle in the heavenlies with the demonic spirit behind this belief system in our country, replace it with a spirit of humility and a willingness to work through disagreements with respect given to all participants, in Jesus' name. Father God, we ask You to move on hearts across this nation reestablishing "free speech" as a tenant of our rights as an American citizen, in Jesus' name. We ask all of this in the name Jehovah Rapha, The Lord Who Heals.
- "Live as free people, but do not use
your freedom as a cover-up for
evil; live as God's slaves.
Show proper respect to everyone,
love the family of believers,
fear God, honor the emperor."

3. Gallant accuses government of dragging Israel down path of military governance in Gaza - Times of Israel
Former defense minister Yoav Gallant warns that unless the Israeli government starts pursuing concrete alternatives to Hamas governance in the Gaza Strip, it will find itself staring down the barrel of “military governance” in the Palestinian enclave.
He warns that if the government transfers the responsibility of aid distribution in the Strip to a private company and provides it with round-the-clock IDF security, it will be one step closer to military rule, and “IDF soldiers will pay for it with their blood.”
“Everything depends on the preparations of an alternative entity that will replace the IDF in holding the territory,” he says, “otherwise we will be on our way to a military government.” (Read more)

5. Iran’s President Calls on Pope Francis to Use Influence to Stop War in Middle East - Algemeiner
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian called on Pope Francis to use his influence with Christian governments to stop war in the Middle East, semi-official Fars news agency reported on Wednesday.
“Encourage world leaders, especially Christian governments, to prevent the continuation of aggressions made by the criminal Israeli regime,” Pezeshkian said, in what Fars described as a message to the Pope.
The message was delivered by an Iranian delegation participating in a religious dialogue event held in the Vatican, Iran’s government website said.
Tehran and the Holy See have enjoyed formal diplomatic relations since 1954, and Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in 2022 shared a message to Pope Francis lauding his “stances on consolidating relations between Islam and Christianity.” (Read more)

Dr. Oz will be a leader in incentivizing Disease Prevention, so we get the best results in the World for every dollar we spend on Healthcare in our Great Country,” Trump continued. “He will also cut waste and fraud within our Country’s most expensive Government Agency, which is a third of our Nation’s Healthcare spend, and a quarter of our entire National Budget.”

2. Democratic Voters Oust Soft-on-Crime Prosecutors - Daily Caller
It appears that even in Democratic strongholds, voters have had enough with soft-on-crime policies that have been implemented by left-wing prosecutors in recent years. In California and Illinois, three district attorneys who enacted lenient criminal policies were ousted during Tuesday’s election. In addition, a ballot measure to toughen criminal penalties in California was passed overwhelmingly.
In Los Angeles County, which Vice President Kamala Harris won by almost 30 points, Democratic District Attorney George Gascón lost by 22 points to Nathan Hochman, an independent. Gascón, who was elected with the backing of George Soros in the wake of the George Floyd killing in 2020, became known for eliminating cash bail and refusing to charge underage violent crime offenders as adults.
Gascón was also the co-author of Proposition 47, an initiative passed in 2014 that “downgraded most thefts from felonies to misdemeanors if the amount stolen was under $950 and reclassified some felony drug offenses as misdemeanors.” (Read more)

We pray that Christians will not slip into apathy, but engage in spiritual battles with your strength God, applying your precepts in every area of our lives, in Jesus' name, amen.

3. Man convicted of murder in death of Laken Riley, Georgia nursing student killed on jogging trail - CBS News
A judge has convicted the man on trial for the killing of Laken Riley, a nursing student in Georgia whose death in February shook the college town where she studied, as well as the country.
Jose Ibarra, 26, was found guilty of murder and other charges related to Riley's death. Ibarra, an undocumented Venezuelan immigrant, entered the United States illegally in 2022, officials said, but he was allowed to remain in the country to pursue his immigration case. His status helped bring the national debate over border laws to a boiling point earlier this year, as prominent Republicans, including President-elect Donald Trump, blamed President Biden's policies for Riley's death.
The decision by Athens-Clarke County Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard ended a string of hearings that began last week. Ibarra waived his right to a jury trial after pleading not guilty to a 10-count indictment brought against him in the wake of Riley's killing, which meant the case would be heard and decided solely by the judge. He also declined to testify during the trial. (Read more)

4. Republicans fume as GOP absences help Democrats move judicial nominees - The Hill
Senate Republicans aired frustrations Tuesday after Vice President-elect JD Vance and other party members skipped votes Monday, greasing the skids for Democratic-backed judicial nominees to be greenlighted as part of a final push to fill the bench with lifetime appointees before President-elect Trump takes office.
Republicans attempted to slow down an effort by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) to advance more than a dozen judicial nominees Monday, hoping to prevent Democrats from completing one of their priorities before they cede power at year’s end.
However, they were unable to stop them, as a handful of GOP members did not show up to the Capitol for votes, which stretched until close to midnight. Headlining that group were Vance and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), President-elect Trump’s choice to lead the State Department, angering GOP members during their weekly Tuesday policy luncheon. (Read more)

5. House Speaker Johnson announces transgender women cannot use female restrooms on Capitol Hill - Just the News
House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., announced Wednesday that transgender women must use restrooms that match their biological sex, rather than their gender identity, barring them from using female facilities.
“All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings — such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex," he said in a statement.
“It is important to note that each Member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol. Women deserve women’s only spaces,” he added. The policy was announced after Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., introduced a bill requiring transgender women to use restrooms that match their biological sex. (Read more)

6. Trump's attorneys seek immediate dismissal of hush money case conviction - Just The News
President-elect Trump’s attorneys, Todd Blanche and Emil Bove, are requesting immediate dismissal of former President Trump's criminal conviction in the New York hush money case.
"Immediate dismissal of this case is mandated by the federal Constitution, the Presidential Transition Act of 1963, and the interest of justice, in order to facilitate the orderly transition of Executive power following President Trump's overwhelming victory in the 2024 Presidential election," the lawyers wrote in a filing on Wednesday.
The attorneys argued Trump can't be sentenced as president-elect or president. They asked permission from Judge Juan Merchan to wait until December 20 before filing a longer brief to dismiss the conviction in an apparent effort to run out the clock. (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: The Rule of Lawfare
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, November 20, 2024
President Donald Trump has maintained his innocence for nearly a decade from the legal charges brought about by his political opponents. While some are still working their way through the court system, none of them have stuck so far, indicating a massive use of the court system for political persecution. Now that Trump was elected by not only a landslide of the electoral vote, but also winning the popular vote, Democratic Party prosecutors, judges and politicians are rethinking how to use the legal system against him. It no longer seems feasible to use lawfare as a weapon to prevent Trump from winning or to banish him from public life. But is this the end of lawfare?
Probably not. Wherever there is a democrat-appointed judge or prosecutor, Americans can expect that the legal system can and will be used against those who disagree with the Democratic Party agenda. We see it regarding abortion outreach, the expression of Christianity and Judaism in the public square, standing against the homosexual and transgender grooming of children, oil, gas, and coal companies, and so on. Remember, if they can do it to Trump, they can do it to you. The election has only redirected the push against those who dare stand their moral ground and advocate for common sense. These tyrannical players will never give up and they will come after people by accusing them of what the tyrants already do or have done. Read More

Bomb cyclone with atmospheric river blasts Oregon, Northern California and Washington
|
|
A storm packing inches of rain, feet of snow and damaging winds continue to affect areas from Oregon to Northern California and Washington as a combination atmospheric river and bomb cyclone take aim.
A major storm will continue to pummel areas from Washington to Oregon and Northern California with torrential rain, heavy mountain snow and high winds this week, AccuWeather meteorologists warn.
Due to low-elevation flooding, debris flows and blizzard conditions in the mountains, widespread travel impacts are expected while powerful gusts can knock down trees and power lines over a broad area.
The storm strengthened so fast that it fits into a special category of weather terminology known as a bomb cyclone. A storm, or cyclone, is essentially a giant spinning vacuum in the atmosphere. When a storm's central pressure drops 0.71 of an inch of mercury inches (24 millibars) or more in 24 hours or less, it is considered to be a bomb cyclone.
"This storm's central pressure crashed from 29.53 inches (1000 mb) to at least 27.82 inches (942 mb) in 24 hours, which is more than double the criteria for a bomb cyclone," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Heather Zehr said. Read More
