Trump’s win brings new hope to Border Patrol and ICE, likely averting officer exodus
Donald Trump's presidential victory last week has instilled a much-needed sense of hope among border and immigration agents. Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers told Fox News Digital that morale within the agencies has completely turned around since Trump won. They also applauded the president-elect's decision to name Tom Homan as the incoming "border czar," noting that he is widely respected among agents. 'There are a lot of agents that had originally said that they would retire if President Trump did not win. ...They're going to hold back on their retirement because they want to serve under this administration again.'

A Massachusetts ICE officer told the news outlet, "It's a total 180. Troops are finally feeling like the sun is coming out after a very long storm. People are fired up to have support," the ICE officer continued. "It's amazing because we all became so numb. I don't think we realized how bad until we finally have hope again. Everyone is so happy about Homan's return." A New York ICE officer stated that morale within the law enforcement agency is "super high, especially with the Homan news, too." An Arizona Border Patrol agent told Fox News Digital that they are now "ecstatic to go to work," adding that morale within the CBP is "even higher than the first time he [Trump] won." A senior ICE official told the news outlet, "I feel that people know now they will get to do the work they signed up to do and that they want to do. They know they can get the bad guys now. Public safety threats, national security threats, gang members, here we come," the official said. (Blaze News) Read More Here

- We PRAISE You Lord for the HOPE that has returned across America, particularly for our Border Patrol! May those placed in authority be given wisdom, according to Your perfect Will, for once again securing our borders. We pray for desperate immigrants who have come here for a better life; may it prompt their country's leadership to desire to serve their citizens righteously. Abba, reveal locations of those who have entered our country with evil intentions to hurt America and remove them swiftly. We declare in the Name of Jesus Christ that all demonic plans against our nation will be thwarted and the return of common-sense vetting and support of legal citizenship will once again prevail! Amen and Amen.

- "For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you. He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat." (Psalm 147:13-14)

Republicans elect Thune as Senate majority leader
John Thune Becoming Senate Leader Sparks MAGA Backlash

Senator John Thune won enough votes to become the next Senate leader, sparking backlash from some supporters of President-elect Donald Trump.

Thune, a South Dakota Republican, received the most votes from Senate Republicans to become the next leader after the GOP retook a majority of seats in the Senate in this year's elections. Thune was viewed as a more traditional conservative choice, compared with Texas Senator John Cornyn and Florida Senator Rick Scott, the favorite of many MAGA pundits.

"I am extremely honored to have earned the support of my colleagues to lead the Senate in the 119th Congress, and I am beyond proud of the work we have done to secure our majority and the White House," Thune wrote in a statement. "This Republican team is united behind President Trump's agenda and our works today."

However, his victory sparked backlash from some MAGA pundits who feel he has not been sufficiently loyal to the president-elect. (Newsweek) Read more here.

- Father God, on a day when cordiality seems to rule the headlines, we repent that there was so much controversy between these three senators. We thank You that this situation has now been settled, and we ask that Your hand of blessing would now rest upon the new Senate Majority Leader, Senator John Thune. We bind any backlash against this decision, in Your mighty name, amen and amen!

- "Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 18:18)

President-elect Donald Trump is already beginning to finalize his Cabinet roster less than a week after his decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.

The president’s Cabinet usually includes the vice president and the heads of 15 executive departments, including the president’s chief of staff, the secretary of state, and the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). (The Epoch Times)

Scroll down this article to see the key positions that have been filled. In addition, every edition of our Daily Brief will include a "RED SECTION", listing the nominees of the day.

(The RED SECTION is located above our "Roaring Lion!")
- Lord we pray that every cabinet position is filled with righteous and justice individuals with one mission and that is to serve the people that elected them. We pray you give Trump wisdom on who is the right person for each job. We pray that every leader would come to know you and follow your ways Lord Jesus. Amen.

Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.), and House Majority Leader Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) speak during a first press conference since the 2024 presidential election results on Capitol Hill in Washington on Nov. 12, 2024
GOP Declares Victory in Contest to Retain House

WASHINGTON—The House Republican Conference on Nov. 12 celebrated retaining a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives following the 2024 general elections.

On Monday evening, Decision Desk HQ projected that the Republicans will retain the House after winning their 218th seat. The Associated Press has not made a call on the House yet. According to AP, Republicans have won 214 seats so far and are leading in seven uncalled races.

Going by Decision Desk HQ, this appears to answer the last major question about the composition of the 119th Congress, in which the GOP is now projected to hold a majority in both chambers.

“It is a new day in America. The sun [is] shining, and that’s a reflection about how we all feel,” said House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.). “This is a very, very important moment for the country, and we do not take it lightly.”

“On Election Day, Americans sent a clear message to reject the consequences of Democratic control,” said Rep. Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), chairman of the House GOP’s campaign and finance arm, the National Republican Congressional Committee.

“They said they couldn’t afford the basics for their family’s needs. They didn’t feel safe in their communities. Their values were under attack.”

House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) said the American people gave the GOP “a mandate” to improve their lives. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray for wisdom for our leaders that they would consider what American citizens want, and what would be best for a thriving country and economy. We pray for unity in the House and the Senate, that they would all agree and work to  implement justice in our nation, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Lake hasn’t publicly commented on the result as of publication time. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord God, we lift the state of Arizona up to you and we pray for this Senate seat that it would be filled with a righteous individual that would stand up for Arizonans. We pray for the state of Arizona, that justice would come to that state and that all that was stolen would be restored to them, in Jesus' name, amen.

Trump and Biden both call for smooth transition in historic Oval Office meeting

President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump met in the Oval Office for nearly two hours on Wednesday, resuming a hallmark of America's peaceful transfer of power that Trump himself flouted in 2020.

The two men, seated by a roaring fire, shook hands before reporters and news cameras.

President Biden spoke first, calling for a "smooth transition" and telling Trump he would do "everything we can to make sure you're accommodated."

Trump followed by thanking Biden.

"Politics is tough, and it's, in many cases, not a very nice world but it is a nice world today," Trump said. "And I appreciate it very much. A transition that's so smooth, it'll be as smooth as it can get, and I very much appreciate that, Joe."

First lady Jill Biden joined President Biden in greeting Trump upon his arrival, according to the White House. She gave Trump a handwritten letter of congratulations for Melania Trump, which also expressed her team's readiness to assist with the transition.

The first lady's office confirmed that a joint invitation was extended to the Trumps for Wednesday's meeting, but Melania Trump did not travel to Washington with her husband.

"Her husband's return to the Oval Office to commence the transition process is encouraging, and she wishes him great success," Melania Trump's office said in a statement. (ABC News) Read more here.

- We pray Lord for this transition, that it would indeed be peaceful, in Jesus' name. We thank You, O Lord, for the amazing example that was set this morning inside the White House, as these two leaders, who were formerly at odds with each other, instead demonstrated a truly time of cordial meeting. We pray that this smooth transition would be maintained in all the days that lie ahead.

We praise you and thank you for having mercy on our country and bringing correction to all that has been stolen. We declare Lord that your justice would reign in this land and that your will would be done. Help your church to carry on the fight of faith and continue to implement your Kingdom on earth, in Jesus' name. Amen.

- “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Netanyahu hints he would hit Iranian oil fields if Tehran attacks -Jerusalem Post

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted that the IDF would hit Iranian oil fields should Tehran make good on its threat to launch another ballistic missile attack on Israel.

“Another attack on Israel would simply cripple Iran’s economy,” Netanyahu said in an unusual English-language message he directed at the Iranian people.

His words, however, were also a sharply worded warning to the Islamic Republic, which is weighing a counterattack against Israel. (Read more)

2. Defense Minister says Israel won’t accept Lebanon ceasefire unless Hezbollah retreats and disarms - World Israel News

Newly-appointed defense minister Israel Katz, when speaking to Northern Command on Wednesday, declared that Israel wouldn’t accept a ceasefire deal with Lebanon unless it mandates the retreat of Hezbollah to the north of the Litani river and that the terror group disarms.

The requirement that Hezbollah evacuate southern Lebanon, known as Resolution 1701, was a provision in the ceasefire agreement that ended the Second Lebanon War in 2006, but wasn’t enforced effectively.

Addressing Northern Command, Katz said, “We will not agree to just any ceasefires, we will not take our foot off the gas, and we will not accept any agreement that does not include achieving the war goals.” (Read more)

3. IDF strikes Syria-Lebanon border for second time in week, Damascus says - JNS

Syrian state media reported on Wednesday evening that Israeli Air Force fighter jets conducted aerial raids in the area of Al-Qusayr, near the Arab Republic’s western border with Lebanon.

Damascus state-run SANA news agency claimed that the country’s air defenses “confronted hostile targets in the skies of the western Homs countryside” in response to what it described as “Israeli aggression.”

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a London-based war monitor with links to the country’s opposition, reported that the IAF strikes targeted bridges and military checkpoints in the border region.

The Israeli Air Force previously carried out raids on Hezbollah targets in Al-Qusayr on Nov. 5, attacking munitions depots used by the Lebanon-based Iranian-backed terrorist army.

5. Court rejects Netanyahu’s request to delay testimony in his trial by 10 weeks - Times of Israel

The Jerusalem District Court rejects Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s request for a 10-week delay to the start of his testimony in his criminal trial, saying that he has already had five months to prepare.

Netanyahu’s defense team had said the prime minister was unable to prepare due to the time pressures of managing the multifront war.

The court says that it gave Netanyahu a long period for testimony preparation when it set the date of December 2 back in July, and “we were not convinced that a substantial change in circumstances has occurred which would justify a change to the date we set in our [original] decision.” (Read more)

1. FAA bans US flights to Haiti for 30 days after planes struck by gunfire - ABC News

The Federal Aviation Administration has banned U.S. flights to Haiti for 30 days in the wake of Monday's gunfire incidents, according to a Notice to Air Mission issued Tuesday.
"U.S. civil aviation operations in the territory and airspace of Haiti below 10,000 feet" will be prohibited, according to the FAA.

The move comes after a Spirit Airlines plane flying from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Haiti was diverted after it was struck by gunfire while attempting to land in Port-au-Prince, according to the the Haitian National Office of Civil Aviation.

The plane was struck by gunfire four times while attempting to land at Touissant Louverture Airport in the capital city of Port-au-Prince, OFNAC said. The Spirit Airlines plane "diverted and landed safely in Santiago, Dominican Republic," Spirit Airlines said in a statement Monday, adding that no passengers reported injuries and one flight attendant onboard the plane reported unspecified "minor injuries" and was undergoing medical evaluation. - Lord we pray over this situation that you give this airline and its staff wisdom on how to handle this situation. We thank you that no one was hurt and we pray that you would comfort those who have been emotionally affected by this attack and heal their hearts, in Jesus' name, amen.

- “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

2. Senate selects new leader to replace McConnell - DML News

Senate Republicans elected Sen. John Thune of South Dakota as their leader for the next Congress, succeeding Mitch McConnell, who steps down after 18 years.

Thune, the current Senate Republican whip, competed against two other candidates: John Cornyn of Texas, a former whip, and Rick Scott of Florida, who recently won a second term.
Elected to the Senate in 2004, Thune steadily rose through leadership roles, including Republican conference chair and Commerce Committee chair, before becoming whip in 2019. He campaigned for Senate leader on a platform supporting President-elect Trump’s agenda, despite previously rejecting Trump’s claims of a stolen 2020 election.

“I am extremely honored to have earned the support of my colleagues to lead the Senate in the 119th Congress, and I am beyond proud of the work we have done to secure our majority and the White House,” Thune said in a statement. “This Republican team is united behind President Trump’s agenda, and our work starts today.” (Read more)

3. NYC’s Mayor Adams sounds receptive to cooperation for mass deportations - DML News

New York City Mayor Eric Adams expressed optimism about immigration policy under Donald Trump, criticizing the Biden administration’s inaction and hoping that Trump’s appointees, like border czar Tom Homan, will better address the needs of big cities.

“I am willing to sit down with this administration like I tried to sit down with the previous administration in my 10 trips to Washington to say: we have a problem that is overrunning our cities,” Adams said. “I’m hoping this administration will hear what I’m saying and listen to some of the ideas that I have been pushing for … close to two years now.”

Mayor Eric Adams has advocated for federal policies, including city funding for asylum seeker support, stricter border security with background checks, relocation of new arrivals to areas with population decline, and work authorization for them. He said Trump’s electoral gains in New York were predictable, as immigration was a top voter concern. Despite his strained relationship with the Democratic Party and recent federal charges, Adams likened this oversight to other issues he’s flagged in past elections. (Read more)

- Lord, we know that there is evidence of an enormous number of dangerous illegal aliens that are on U.S. soil and so we pray Lord that this Mayor would work with the Trump administration so that the laws of our land would be enforced in New York City. We offer this prayer in Jesus' name, amen.

- "Hate evil, and love good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the Lord, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph." (Amos 5:15)

4. Reports: Connecticut Official Runs Fraudulent Marriage Factory for Migrants - Breitbart

A Connecticut bureaucrat is being accused of running an immigrant marriage scam to push Joe Biden’s migrants into legal status before President-elect Donald Trump takes office. And she is not the only one.

Wanda Geter-Pataky, who is a justice of the peace at New Haven City Hall, has allegedly been caught officiating at a string of controversial weddings that some assume are meant to fraudulently push migrants into legal status.

She allegedly officiated more than 100 of these marriages a month during the Biden regime, according to the CT Mirror. The Mirror added that many of these marriages are between migrants and American citizens who do not even live in her state. Recently, she married couples from Texas, New York, and Virginia, the news group said. (Read more)

5. Biden-Harris Health Department Spent Tens Of Millions Annually On DEI - The Daily Caller

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) spends tens of millions of dollars annually on diversity-related expenses, according to a new report from the watchdog group Open The Books.

American taxpayers foot a bill of roughly $38.7 million every year to employ 297 staffers conducting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) work at HHS, with 247 of those federal employees making over $100,000 a year, according to government records analyzed by Open The Books. On top of that, HHS spends $29.4 million per year to keep 209 workers on payroll for its Office of Minority Health, which exists to “improve the health of racial and ethnic minority populations through the development of health policies and programs that will help eliminate health disparities.”

One of the programs funded by the Office of Minority Health included a “vaccine equity” program in Atlanta aimed at getting monkeypox vaccine doses to gay black men to help “celebrate diversity and the impact of distinctly Black gay and queer culture on the community,” according to Open The Books. (Read more)

- Lord God, we just pray for our leaders that they would make wise decisions for the American people. We pray, Lord that they would work on issues that are affecting every day Americans, like the economy, jobs, and border control among other things. We pray that every leader will come to repentance and seek your face Lord to know what’s best for our nation.  In Jesus' name, amen.

- “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” (James 4:10)

6. Chicago mayor criticized for claiming Trump will be a threat to black families - DML News

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson stated in a Tuesday press conference that President-elect Donald Trump’s immigration plan poses a threat to Black families in the city.

“His threat is not just towards new arrivals and undocumented families. His threats are also against Black families…we’re going to protect undocumented individuals,” said Mayor Johnson. “We’re going to protect Black folks, Brown folks, Asian folks. The city of Chicago will be better, stronger and safer despite who’s in the White House.”

Former Chicago gangster-turned-activist Tyrone Muhammad, now running an independent Senate campaign against Dick Durbin, criticized Mayor Johnson on “Fox & Friends,” accusing him of “using Black people as a scapegoat” for his immigration agenda and prioritizing resources for illegal immigrants over long-suffering Chicago communities. Muhammad explained that Trump’s election reflects Americans’ trust in his approach to addressing the border crisis, which is impacting cities like Chicago. (Read more)

- Lord God, we pray for all of the citizens of Chicago who are dealing with these circumstances. They feel they have been taken advantage of when they pay taxes to help create a better community, only to see their city overrun by people who break the law and get away with it. We ask that you would grace all these citizens with wisdom and strength to know how to deal with these tough situations. We pray for their leaders that they would have an increase of wisdom and discernment to know that they were elected to serve their citizens and to do what’s best for them.

- “Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)

Stupidocrisy: Vote Shaming

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, November 13, 2024

Trump would end democracy. He would jail reporters. He would take revenge on his detractors. He would be a fascist dictator. If you vote for Trump you are racist. If you vote for Trump you are bigot. If you vote for Trump you are sexist. If you vote for Trump you are a homophobe. If you vote for Trump you are a fascist. If you so much as support Trump you are garbage. If Trump is elected, liberals would leave the country. Trump supporters should be executed. Trump voters should be banned from society. If you are Black and vote for Trump you are not Black. All these things the media, the Democratic Party leadership, communist celebrities repeated for more than eight years, especially in 2024. What of it?

Let’s start with former president Barack Obama. On October 10, Obama lashed out against Black men, saying, “You’re thinking about sitting out or supporting somebody (in former president Donald Trump) who has a history of denigrating you, because you think that’s a sign of strength, because that’s what being a man is? Putting women down? That’s not acceptable.” How about Joe Biden saying that “The only garbage I see floating out there is his [Trump’s] supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American. It’s totally contrary to everything we’ve done, everything we’ve been.” Interesting that Trump won a larger share of both Black and Latino voters than past Republican presidential candidates. This Day In History: Vietnam Veterans Memorial dedicated on November 13, 1982

Near the end of a weeklong national salute to Americans who served in the Vietnam War, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is dedicated in Washington, D.C. after a march to its site by thousands of veterans of the conflict. The long-awaited memorial was a simple V-shaped black-granite wall inscribed with the names of the 57,939 Americans who died in the conflict, arranged in order of death, not rank, as was common in other memorials.

The designer of the memorial was Maya Lin, a Yale University architecture student who entered a nationwide competition to create a design for the monument. Lin, born in Ohio in 1959, was the daughter of Chinese immigrants. Many veterans’ groups were opposed to Lin’s winning design, which lacked a standard memorial’s heroic statues and stirring words. However, a remarkable shift in public opinion occurred in the months after the memorial’s dedication. Veterans and families of the dead walked the black reflective wall, seeking the names of their loved ones killed in the conflict. Once the name was located, visitors often made an etching or left a private offering, from notes and flowers to dog tags and cans of beer.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial soon became one of the most visited memorials in the nation’s capital. A Smithsonian Institution director called it “a community of feelings, almost a sacred precinct,” and a veteran declared that “it’s the parade we never got.” “The Wall” drew together both those who fought and those who marched against the war and served to promote national healing a decade after the divisive conflict’s end.
