SNEAD: A Disturbing Movement Is Picking Up Steam On The Left — Letting Noncitizens Vote
|
|
Voting has long been one of the privileges of American citizenship, but perhaps not for much longer. Left-wing activists are going all-in with their demands to let noncitizens vote, and Washington, D.C., just took up the charge.
The D.C. City Council advanced a bill to let anyone vote in local elections, regardless of citizenship and immigration status, as long as they live in the city for just 30 days.
The measure is so extreme, even the reliably liberal Washington Post editorial board called it “radical.”
If Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser signs the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2022, an estimated 50,000 noncitizen residents — including those here illegally — would be free to cast ballots in local elections. (Daily Caller)

|
|
A federal court ruled that an Arizona activist group can monitor ballot drop boxes in the state ahead of the 2022 elections.
In a decision Friday, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona ruled that a voter activist group called Clean Elections USA could monitor a pair of drop boxes in Maricopa County. Two liberal activist groups, the Arizona Alliance for Retired Americans and Voto Latino, sued to stop the group from monitoring the drop boxes, claiming that it was violating the Voting Rights Act and the Ku Klux Klan Act.
The two plaintiffs first argued section 11(b) of the Voting Rights Act, which states that no person, “whether acting under color of law or otherwise, shall intimidate, threaten, or coerce, or attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce any person for voting or attempting to vote.” But the plaintiffs failed to provide evidence that Clean Elections USA actually presented a threat. |
A federal judge has dismissed a charge against a former U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent who was still working for the administration when he went onto U.S. Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, 2021. U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee, on Oct. 27 tossed a charge of lying to the government for Mark Ibrahim, the former DEA agent.
The charge said that Ibrahim “did willfully and knowingly make materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statements and representations in a criminal matter in the District of Columbia” by telling a government agent that he did not knowingly expose his firearm and DEA badge while on Capitol grounds.
Ibrahim said he had his badge and firearm on his person on Jan. 6 but said they were “never exposed,” adding, “not that I know of,” according to a partial transcript of the interview released by Ibrahim’s lawyer. (The Epoch Times) Read more here. |

Just hours before Israelis go to the polls for the fifth time in almost four years, President Isaac Herzog on Monday addressed American Jewish leaders in a bid to ease concerns about the outcome of the elections they may not like.
“I know the frequency of elections in Israel is somewhat unnerving, and I am aware of the questions posed in many Jewish communities around the world about the outcome of the elections,” Herzog stated in a video address to the Jewish Federations of North America’s General Assembly in Chicago. “The results may or may not be to your liking, but the vote of the Israeli people should be respected.”
“Beyond this, I say to each and every one of you that the firm, vital connection between the State of Israel and North American Jewry will not, and should not, be compromised, whatever the results,” he emphasized. (Read more)

2. ‘Incapable of a true word’: Gantz lashes Netanyahu for claim he risked troops’ lives - Times of Israel
Leader of the National Unity party Benny Gantz castigated opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu in an angry outburst on the eve of Israel’s elections, calling the seasoned politician a “liar” who “is incapable of saying a single true word,” and who was “endangering the State of Israel” by offering extremists power.
On Monday afternoon, Netanyahu said in an interview with Army Radio that Gantz was not a potential political partner and accused the current defense minister of “endangering the lives of Golani soldiers in order not to hurt Palestinians” when he served as the commander of the Israel Defense Forces.
Netanyahu identified Gantz as “a leftist who said he was proud of endangering the lives of Golani soldiers in order not to hurt Palestinians.” The opposition leader was referring to an incident during Operation Protective Edge in 2014, in which the military waited for Palestinian civilians to evacuate before destroying a target in the Gaza Strip. Among the dreams and hopes listed are the restoration of the values of justice and democracy, a settlement boom that will also help lower housing prices, leadership that understands the danger inherent in strengthening the Palestinian Authority, the return of governance to the mixed cities, the battle against terrorism, a return to the values of Judaism, a government with only Zionist components, and more. 4. Israel must get rid of its nuclear weapons, UNGA majority decides - Jerusalem Post
Israel must dispose of all its nuclear weapons and place its nuclear sites under the International Atomic Energy Agency’s purview, the United Nations General Assembly’s First Committee stated in an initial 152-5 vote.
The five nations that opposed Friday’s resolution on the “risk of nuclear proliferation in the Middle East” were: Canada, Israel, Micronesia, Palau and the United States. Another 24 countries abstained, including European Union members.
The annual resolution submitted by Egypt to the UNGA in New York was sponsored by the Palestinian Authority and 19 counties including Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco and the United Arab Emirates. (Read more)

Israeli researchers from Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem were able to confirm the veracity of several classic biblical narratives after leveraging advanced geomagnetic testing at a number of ancient sites.
The researchers led a team of scientists and students from some 20 different countries, who used the new dating method to determine the age of 21 layers of destruction at 17 various biblical sites in the Jewish State.

1. Russian agents may have hacked former British PM Liz Truss's phone: report | Fox News
Russian agents may have hacked former Prime Minister Liz Truss’s personal phone during her summer leadership challenge that led to her taking the role of prime minister, according to reports.
The agents, suspected of working at the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin, may have gained access to top-secret negotiations with key international allies and personal messages between Truss and her future Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng.
A U.K. Government spokesperson told Fox News Digital that while the government does not comment on individual security arrangements, "The Government has robust systems in place to protect against cyber threats," including "regular security briefings for ministers and advice on protecting their personal data."
The government allegedly knew of the hack during the summer, but then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Cabinet Secretary Simon Case suppressed details about the hack, the Daily Mail reported.

Russia is warning it could target commercial satellites assisting U.S. military operations as its invasion of Ukraine drags on -- a threat that could prompt the Space Force and U.S. Space Command to see action if Moscow follows through.
Commercial satellites have been used to take aerial images that show deployments, damage and destruction of Russia's faltering, unprovoked campaign against its neighbor. Additionally, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's Starlink satellites have provided internet access to the people of Ukraine, and he lauded the technology as a "major battlefield advantage" in a tweet earlier this month.
Ironically, GPS doesn't work on battlefields, as the signal is easy to jam, but Starlink does," Musk tweeted Oct. 15.

A staffer for Democratic Virginia Rep. Don Beyer was fired this week for allegedly working on behalf of the Chinese Embassy in Washington to set up meetings with other Congressional aides, according to a National Review report.
The staffer, Barbara Hamlett, allegedly reached out to other Congressional staffers and attempted to arrange meetings between them and Chinese Embassy officials for at least several months, National Review reported.Beyer quickly fired Hamlett after he learned of the allegations against her and investigated.
“While Congressman Beyer had no inkling of this staffer’s actions and acted promptly upon learning of them, he understands that his constituents may be shocked to learn of this, just as he was,” Beyer’s deputy chief of staff Aaron Fritschner said. “He pledges to them that he will remain a fierce critic of China’s record, continue to oppose the CCP’s totalitarian repression of its citizens, and hold himself and his staff to the highest professional and ethical standards.”
Lord, thank You that this Congressman fired the employee, but we pray that no others of any political party be allowed to do what this woman is accused of doing. We pray for Your protection around all Congressional and Senate activities, and ask that You grant them wisdom from being deceived.

Conservatives on Twitter ripped into President Joe Biden’s latest gaffe from Friday night, in which he claimed that Democrats campaigned in "54 states" in 2018 to defend Obamacare.
During his Friday evening remarks at the "Pennsylvania Democratic Party Reception," Biden touted his party’s success in protecting the Affordable Care Act from being dismantled during former President Donald Trump’s term.
Trump had campaigned on replacing Obamacare, though as Biden claimed Friday, Democrats campaigned hard in 2018 to prevent that from happening. In his speech, he warned that the GOP will go after their health care if they gain the congressional majority.
Two-thirds of the way through his address, Biden said, "And, of course, they’re going try for their 499th time, or whatever the number is — they’re still determined to eliminate the Affordable Care Act. And, by the way, if they do, that means — not a joke, everybody."
Then he made his latest viral statement. He said, "That’s why we defeated it in 2018 when they tried to do it. We went to 54 states."

5. Grassroots Activists Oppose CA's Late-Term Abortion Ballot Initiative - breitbart.com
When the Supreme Court issued its historic Dobbs decision in June and returned the issue of abortion to the states, some lawmakers immediately set out to protect the unborn. Others, like California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), began defiantly scheming to make their states even more pro-abortion.
Californians will now decide in less than two weeks during the midterm elections whether to codify the “right” to abortion up to birth in the state’s Constitution by voting on a ballot initiative called Proposition 1 — a measure that, if passed, can only be undone by another ballot initiative. Proponents of the initiative claim it will shore up “reproductive rights.” Grassroots activists, Christians, and conservatives alike warn the “intentionally vague” wording of Proposition 1 could lead to much more sinister outcomes.
One of the most noticeable aspects of the initiative is its briefness and lack of parameters and definitions clarifying what “reproductive freedom” means.

Connecticut Democratic Rep. Jahana Hayes is in a dead-heat race against Republican opponent George Logan, according to new polling data.
Hayes and Logan are polling at identical levels of support, each at 45%, according to a CT Examiner/Fabrizio, Lee & Associates poll.
Approximately 10% of those polled were undecided.
Logan is looking to become the first Republican in 16 years to win in the state's 5th Congressional District.

Leftist protesters were spotted outside a speaking event by a conservative commentator surrounding and shouting down a man reading Bible passages before they snatched the Bible, ripped it up, and one protester ate the pages.
In the video posted by Young America’s Foundation earlier this week, a man reading Bible passages on a loudspeaker outside a screening of conservative commentator Matt Walsh’s "What is a Woman?" documentary in Madison, Wisconsin was accosted by screaming leftist protesters. One of the protesters can be seen banging on a can next to the Christian man’s face while another blared a siren next to him.
"The leftists’ attempts to silence a student reading the Bible demonstrate their utter contempt for the Judeo-Christian values upon which America was founded," Nick Baker, a spokesperson for Young America’s Foundation, told Fox News Digital in a statement.

10. At least 146 dead after South Korea crowd surge during Halloween festivities, officials say - Fox News
At least 146 people were killed and 150 hurt in a chaotic stampede in South Korea after thousands gathered in the night-life area of the capital, Seoul, to celebrate Halloween.
Choi Seong-beom, chief of Seoul's Yongsan fire department, said the death toll could grow as emergency workers were continuing to transport the injured to hospitals across Seoul following the stampede on Saturday night.
The incident took place at about 10:20 p.m. after a large crowd began pushing forward in a narrow alley near Hamilton Hotel, a major party spot in Seoul.
"A number of people fell during a Halloween festival, and we have a large number of casualties," Choi Cheon-sik from the National Fire Agency said. Many of those killed were at a nearby nightclub, he said.

For years, conservative Christians have been wringing their hands over the past election results and the resulting heavy handedness of a Marxist-inspired government leadership. We have endured name calling, hate speech, curbing and censorship of our religious rights and guarantee of freedom to speak, and coercion to take an experimental shot at the threat of losing our jobs. At the same time, we have not only witnessed, but experienced, the government sanction of mutilation and sexual predation of our children by teachers, school boards, and sexual deviants partnered with them. Standing up to them, the government says we are terrorists.
This country is experiencing a leftist-engineered breakdown. It was accelerated by the unprecedented heavy-handed lockdown and quarantine of healthy people. The government, under the present leftist leadership, did everything but force citizens to take an experimental concoction that neither prevented a disease, the spread of it, or was effective to stop the disease. The government forced deadly protocols onto the sick and banned effective and proven life-saving treatments. The meteor strike is one of the biggest ever seen on the Red Planet since the agency began space exploration, according to the findings published Thursday in the journal Science.
NASA's InSight lander felt the ground shake when the quake hit on Dec. 24, 2021, but scientists were not aware of what caused it until recently.
Cameras on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter first returned visual confirmation of the massive crater. Scientists compared before and after images taken by the orbiter and spotted the huge impact crater in the more-recent shots. Read More

Ukrainian Pastor Survives Russian Imprisonment and Takes Family to Freedom

As Russian troops are face increasing strain with the Ukrainian army seeks to retake the southern city of Kherson, stories of atrocities, persecution, and God's deliverance are emerging from the occupied territory. Residents of Kherson are boarding buses under forced "evacuation" orders from the Russian army, as Ukrainian troops close in on the city. Life has been tough as people face shortages of just about everything and endure harsh treatment by Russian soldiers.
Those forced to live under Russian occupation, however, say liberation can't come soon enough. After six months in occupied Kherson, Pastor Alexander escaped with his wife and 10 children in September. "When the Russians took over, we weren't sure what to do, but we decided to continue with our church services," Pastor Alexander said. Russian forces, on the lookout for so-called Nazis, searched his house several times.
On September 6, they arrested him in front of his wife and children. "I was kept in solitary confinement for six days," he said. "Then they put me in a cell where there were seven people, but only three beds." Between interrogations, the pastor shared his faith with his cellmates. "My wife had managed to slip me a small Bible. So with that, I started witnessing to the other men and myself we were there together for another 10 days. By the seventh day, they had all made Jesus Christ their Lord. That was when I finally realized why I was there."
Then – after 15 days of captivity – a miracle happened. "An Orthodox priest whom I had never met came to the commandant and asked him to release me. And he agreed on one condition – that he could keep my car. So, at the church there was still a minivan, and we put all my family into it, along with an injured neighbor, and headed toward the front lines." However, their ordeal wasn't over. I am a poor wayfaring stranger,
While traveling through this world of woe.
Yet there’s no sickness, toil nor danger
In that bright world to which I go.
I’m going there to see my Father;
I’m going there no more to roam.

I’m only going over Jordan,

I know dark clouds will gather round me;
I know my way is rough and steep.
But golden fields lie out before me
Where God’s redeemed shall ever sleep.
