Former President Donald Trump appeared on CNN Wednesday night for a town hall with moderator Kaitlan Collins and an audience of Republican and independent voters.
Trump was... Trump - an unapologetic steamroller who didn't let Collins bully him into admitting that he lost the 2020 election (and called Collins a "nasty person" at one point). Here are the top 10 moments from last night;
Rigged election
"You still have not acknowledged the 2020 election results, but you are also under active federal investigation for trying to overturn the 2020 election results," said Collins. "Your first term ended with a deadly riot at the Capitol, and you still have not publicly acknowledged the 2020 election results. Why should Americans put you back in the White House?"
To which Trump replied: "“I think that when you look at that result, and when you look at what happened during that election, unless you’re a very stupid person, you see what happened. A lot of the people—out of the people in this audience and maybe a couple that don’t—but most people understand what happened was a rigged election. And it’s a shame that we had to go through it. It’s very bad for our country. All over the world, they looked at it and they saw exactly what everyone else [saw]."
January 6th
Trump and Collins tussled over the timeline of events on January 6th - pointing out that he called for peaceful protests.
Pardons?
Trump said he would pardon "many" of the January 6th protesters currently sitting in jail.
"I am inclined to pardon many of them," Trump said. "I can’t say for every single one because a couple of them, probably, they got out of control. But, you know, when you look at Antifa, what they’ve done to them… then what they’ve done to these people, they persecuted these people. And yeah, my answer is, I am most likely if I get in, I will most likely—I wouldn’t say it will be a large portion of them. 1. David’s Sling downs rocket headed for Tel Aviv in first real-world interception - Times of Israel
The David’s Sling air defense system successfully shot down a rocket from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, a military source said, marking the first real-world interception for the battery.
The rocket was one of three fired at Tel Aviv at around 2:20 p.m. as Islamic Jihad terrorists launched a response to an Israeli offensive that began before dawn Tuesday. The Israel Defense Forces said at least 286 rockets were fired at Israel Wednesday afternoon, with over 60 intercepted by Iron Dome. Three fell in populated areas while the rest fell short in Gaza or landed in open areas.
The other two rockets launched at Tel Aviv landed in open areas, including the sea.
The IDF later confirmed the successful use of the David’s Sling system in a statement. (Read more)

2. Over 800 rockets fired at Israel - Israel National News
The IDF released updated statistics this evening (Thursday) on the number of rockets which have been fired at Israel by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization since the beginning of Operation Shield and Arrow earlier this week.
According to the IDF, 803 rockets had been fired at Israel as of 8 pm. The IDF had previously reported that 547 rockets had been fired at Israel as of 2:30 pm, meaning that over 250 rockets were fired in under six hours.
One person was killed and five people injured when a rocket struck a residential building in the city of Rehovot this evening.
The IDF further stated that 620 rockets crossed into Israeli airspace, while 152 rockets fell short in Gaza. 179 rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome and David's Sling missile defense systems. (Read more)

3.Gallant tells US defense chief Austin: Israel is prepared for long campaign in Gaza - Times of Israel
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Wednesday told his US counterpart Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that Israel was prepared to wage a “prolonged campaign” in Gaza, as some of Israel’s other allies condemned Palestinian rocket fire against Israeli civilians.
Gallant and Austin spoke during a day of fighting that saw southern Israeli cities hit by rocket fire, and IDF reprisals in the Gaza Strip, after Israel assassinated three leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group early Tuesday.
According to Gallant’s office, he and Austin “discussed recent security developments in Israel, including 400 rockets fired” toward Israel, and the killings of the Islamic Jihad leaders.
Gallant noted “the IDF’s readiness for every operational scenario, including a prolonged campaign and multi-front challenges,” his office said. (Read more)

4. Israeli killed as Gaza rocket makes direct hit on building in Rehovot - JNS
(May 11, 2023 / JNS) An Israeli man was killed when a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck a four-story building in Rehovot, 12 miles south of Tel Aviv, on Thursday evening.
The unidentified man’s body was reportedly found under the rubble.
It is the first Israeli fatality since the start of “Operation Shield and Arrow” against Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip.
Five other people were wounded in the rocket attack.
Police officers were searching the site and sappers were removing parts of the rocket. Authorities reiterated calls for civilians to follow the relevant safety guidelines. The rocket fire was the first directed towards central Israel since the previous day. (Read more)

5. As Promised, Islamic Jihad Launches Fresh Evening Rocket Barrage from Gaza - Jewish Press
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization launched a fresh barrage of rocket fire at Israel from Gaza promptly at 9 pm, as promised by its spokespersons. Unlike previous attacks, however, the barrage was relatively short-lived.
In addition to its routine attacks on communities in the Gaza Envelope and western Negev, the terror group expanded the range of its rocket fire to include sites in Gush Dan: Holon, Rishon Lezion and Mikve Israel among them.
In Netivot, one house was reportedly hit, but no injuries were reported.
In the Tel Aviv suburb of Bat Yam, one rocket was reported to have hit the city’s shopping mall — but the municipality clarified the smoke resulted from a fire at a cellphone store, and was not a rocket impact.
In Rishon Lezion, the David’s Sling mid-range aerial defense system shot down a longer-range rocket aimed at the city. No injuries or property damage was reported. This was the second time the David’s Sling system has been used since the start of Operation Shield and Arrow — each interceptor missile in the system costs $1 million. (Read more)

1. DOJ Strategically Timed Political Arrest To Coincide With Press Conference Detailing Evidence Of Biden Corruption - The Federalist
The Department of Justice coincidentally decided to arrest New York GOP Rep. George Santos on money laundering and other charges on Wednesday at the same time House Republicans held a press conference revealing damaging evidence about the Biden family’s corrupt, foreign business ventures.
On Tuesday, the DOJ filed charges against Santos in the Eastern District of New York. While originally under seal, the 13-count indictment unveiled Wednesday morning shows the DOJ charging Santos with “seven counts of wire fraud, three counts of money laundering, one count of theft of public funds, and two counts of making materially false statements to the House of Representatives.”
According to the unsealed indictment, Santos allegedly lied on his 2020 and 2022 House Disclosure forms by overstating his income and assets. Meanwhile, notable Democrats who appear to have lied under penalty of perjury, such as Secretary of State Antony Blinken, have not faced such charges from Biden’s DOJ.
It’s amazing how the arrest of Santos came at the exact same moment Republicans on the House Oversight Committee held a press conference documenting the Biden family’s overseas business ventures. Announced earlier this week, Wednesday morning’s presser revealed bank records showing how the Bidens and their associates created a network of more than 20 companies and received “at least $10 million … from foreign nationals’ and their related companies.”
According to the records obtained by House Republicans, most of these 20 companies were purportedly LLCs and created when Biden occupied the vice president’s office. The money trafficked to the Bidens came from several different countries, including China and Romania. (Read more here)

2. Texas Governor Praises Troops for Repelling Illegal Immigrants, Vows that Elite Units Will Continue Effort – The Epoch Times
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said that he has deployed “elite” teams from the Texas National Guard to continue the effort of preventing illegal immigrants from crossing the U.S.-Mexico border while praising Texas troops for physically repelling people from trying to cross the border illegally near Brownsville.
Abbott told Fox News in an interview Wednesday that he has ordered several “elite” Texas National Guard teams to continue efforts to “repel” illegal immigrants from crossing the border after video emerged showing would be border crossers being rebuffed by Texas troops.
“First [they are] to put up barriers, whether it be the razor wire that you saw there or other barriers, and then have National Guard and Texas Department of Public Safety either in front of it or behind it. Our goal is to repel people from coming into the country,” Abbott told the “Jesse Watters Primetime” program. (Read more)

3. Local and Private COVID Vaccine Mandates at Health Care Facilities Being Reversed, Struck Down Across US – The Epoch Times
Efforts to overturn vaccine mandates for both hospital patients and health care workers appear to be gaining momentum across the United States.
In what’s seen as a major victory for transplant patients who didn’t take the COVID-19 vaccine, one of the largest transplant centers in the United States reversed its policy to require the vaccine in order to be eligible for an organ transplant.
The University of Michigan (UM) announced its new policy on May 4, just before court proceedings started in a lawsuit filed against it for declaring patients ineligible for an organ transplant unless they agreed to receive the vaccine.
The suit was filed on behalf of several patients by David Peters of Pacific Justice Institute, who, in celebrating the reversal, simply said “We’re winning!” (Read more)

5. Bud Light Sales Still Plunging Across the Entire US – Down 29% in Rocky Mountain States – The Gateway Pundit

Bud Light sales are down significantly ACROSS the entire United States following their decision to sponsor trans-flake Dylan Mulvaney as product spokesperson.
The top advertising Bud Light Vice-President of Marketing Alissa Heinerscheid bragged about reviving the beer brand by trashing its “frattie” consumers and pushing trans dogma on traditiional beer drinkers.
The trans campaign has cost Bud Light sales to collapse. The brand is down double-digits across the US. In Rocky Mountain states sales are down 29%!
According to NBC, HSBC downgraded Anheuser-Busch InBev stock on Wednesday to hold saying there are “deeper problems than ABI admits” after a recent social media partnership in April between the Bud Light brand and Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender influencer, resulted in a wave of backlash. (Read more)

6. Washington Governor Signs Law Allowing Trans Surgeries, Drugs for Children Without Parent’s Consent – Lifesite News
Runaway children would be allowed to live with strangers and undergo 'gender transitions' without parental notification under the new law.
The governor of Washington state signed a bill on Tuesday to allow minors to undergo so-called “sex changes” while under the shelter of strangers without parental consent.
In his most recent effort to promote abortion and child mutilation, Democrat Gov. Jay Inslee enacted a law that enables minors who have run away from their parents to pursue transgender drugs and surgeries with the oversight of individuals and programs who are housing them. Although those housing children would be required to report such cases to state departments, notification of and permission from a child’s parents are not required if the child is a seeking a “gender transition.” (Read more)

7. T-Mobile CLOSES DOWN Flagship San Francisco Store Amid City’s Chaos – NewsTarget
Telecommunications company T-Mobile has quietly closed down its flagship store in San Francisco, amid decreased foot traffic and the city's worsening crime rate.
According to the Post Millennial, T-Mobile closed its two-level flagship store at the upscale Union Square area back in April. An employee assigned to T-Mobile's Mission Street location attested to the closure, which left 17,000 square feet of retail space vacant.
A spokesperson for the telecom firm said in a statement to SFGATE that the closure of the Union Square location was part of an effort to reshape T-Mobile's retail strategy. The spokesperson added that affected employees "have been offered roles within the company" at other locations (Read more)

8. WHO Declares End to COVID 19 Global Public Health Emergency After its Fraudulent Policies Destroyed Lives and Economies – NewsTarget
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the conclusion of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) global public health emergency. However, the three-year emergency has had lasting effects. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus made the declaration during a May 5 news conference held at the global health body’s headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
"It has caused severe economic upheaval – erasing trillions from [gross domestic product], disrupting travel and trade, shuttering businesses, and plunging millions into poverty,” he said. “It has [also] caused severe social upheaval with borders closed, movement restricted, schools shut and millions of people experiencing loneliness, isolation, anxiety and depression.” Official numbers from the WHO stated that almost seven million people have died from COVID-19 since the global health body first declared the public health emergency on Jan. 30, 2020. But according to Tedros, the actual number is at least 20 million.
Public health emergency may end, but medical tyranny is here to stay

The World Health Organization (WHO) has joined Joe Biden in declaring an end to the COVID 19 pandemic. WHO has closed a chapter in one of the worst managed pandemics in world history where mandated treatments arguably resulted in more deaths than COVID would have caused without them. Effective treatments were forbidden. Doctors were censored and lost their jobs, Big pharma made billions with unproven, unsafe and ineffective vaccines. Government and business advanced propaganda vilifying anyone who refused the vaccines, and today refuse to admit that vaccine side effects are greater than any and all vaccines combined. WHO made this mess that will last generations.
The fifteenth meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR) Emergency Committee regarding the coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) pandemic, was held on Thursday 4 May 2023. It was at that meeting that WHO Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus concurred “with the advice offered by the Committee regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. He determines that COVID-19 is now an established and ongoing health issue which no longer constitutes a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC).” That’s the obvious good news. The bad news in the same WHO announcement is that Ghebreyesus is going to convene the International Health Regulations Review Committee to advise on recommendations for the long-term management of the virus. NASA’s Webb Takes Closest Look Yet at Mysterious Planet

A science team gains new insight into the atmosphere of a “mini-Neptune,” a class of planet common in the galaxy but about which little is known.
NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has observed a distant planet outside our solar system – and unlike anything in it – to reveal what is likely a highly reflective world with a steamy atmosphere. It’s the closest look yet at the mysterious world, a “mini-Neptune” that was largely impenetrable to previous observations.
And while the planet, called GJ 1214 b, is too hot to harbor liquid-water oceans, water in vaporized form still could be a major part of its atmosphere.
“The planet is totally blanketed by some sort of haze or cloud layer,” said Eliza Kempton, a researcher at the University of Maryland and lead author of a new paper, published in Nature, on the planet. “The atmosphere just remained totally hidden from us until this observation.” She noted that, if indeed water-rich, the planet could have been a “water world,” with large amounts of watery and icy material at the time of its formation.

San Antonio Voters Overwhelmingly Reject Measure to Legalize Abortions

Texans rejected a proposal to legalize aborting unborn babies on the ballot Saturday in San Antonio. The proposed ordinance, Proposition A, came from pro-abortion groups and basically would have legalized the killing of unborn babies in abortions in San Antonio. However, the ballot measure failed by a huge margin Saturday with 72 percent of voters opposed, according to the Texas Tribune. Amy O’Donnell, communications director at Texas Alliance for Life, celebrated the victory after her organization spent months working to defeat the proposal. “We are tremendously pleased to see that San Antonio voters have defeated Prop A so decisively,” O’Donnell said. “Prop A would have been tragic for unborn children and victims of trafficking who would have been left without the protection from abortion they deserve by San Antonio police.”
Texas law protects unborn babies by banning elective abortions and creates penalties for abortionists who violate the law. In February, however, abortion activists collected enough signatures to place Proposition A on the San Antonio ballot for the May 6 election. The proposed ordinance attempted to defy state pro-life laws by prohibiting police from investigating or making arrests for illegal abortions. It allowed exceptions if the abortion was forced or coerced, or if there was criminal negligence involving the health of the pregnant mother. Despite these factors and claims by abortion activists that most Americans support abortion on demand, the ballot measure failed. O’Donnell at Texas Alliance for Life said the defeat sends a strong message that Texans support life. “Today, the will of San Antonio voters prevailed. And the will of voters across the state — who spoke through their state elected officials when Texas enacted protective laws like the Human Life Protection Act — has been affirmed,” she said.
