Good news! Biden FCC nominee withdrawn
|
|
As recently as last week I warned you about Gigi Sohn, a Biden nominee for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC, which is governed by five commissioners, is a powerful independent agency with far-reaching regulatory powers over radio and television.
Sohn is known as a radical lesbian who I feared would use the position to try to silence American Family Radio and American Family News for expressing its biblical views on marriage and human sexuality.
I have good news to report. Gigi Sohn has withdrawn her nomination. This is, in part, because of thousands of AFA activists writing and calling the Biden administration urging them to pull her nomination.
For the time being, religious and other forms of free speech on radio, television, cable, and satellite are protected because you helped defeat the nomination of Gigi Sohn.

US intel community warns of 'complex' threats from China, Russia, North Korea
|
|
The U.S. is expected to face a "complex" security environment and will need to work to confront two "critical" strategic challenges: rising powers, like China, seeking dominance in the global order, and challenges like climate change, which could "intersect" and intensify their national security implications, the U.S. intelligence community assessed.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence on Wednesday released its 2023 annual threat assessment, which warned of threats against the U.S. posed by China, Russia, North Korea and Iran. It also warned of global challenges like climate change and evolving technologies that could have the potential to "disrupt" traditional business and society, while creating "unprecedented vulnerabilities."
"These two strategic challenges will intersect and interact in unpredictable ways, leading to mutually reinforcing effects that could challenge our ability to respond, but that also will introduce new opportunities to forge collective action with allies and partners, including non-state actors," the report states.

Tarik Johnson, responsible for evacuating lawmakers, reveals Jan. 6 Committee never asked him to testify
|
|
Tucker Carlson sat down with a former Capitol Police officer who was ignored by the House Jan. 6 Select Committee despite the pivotal role he had that day.
Tarik Johnson, a 22-year veteran on the Capitol Hill force, was tasked with securing the certification of the 2020 presidential election.
"My voice is one of the first ones you hear on the audio transmission, so I did expect to get an interview sometime, but it didn't happen." Johnson told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" about the House Select Committee in an interview aired Tuesday. "I guess the focus was on Donald Trump."
Despite pleas for help on Jan. 6, Johnson said he did not hear anything, not even from Capitol Police chief assistant Yogananda Pittman, who allegedly kept vital information about the protests from him. The federal intel and law enforcement agencies knew about the warnings of a massive disturbance at the Capitol on Jan. 6, Carlson said, but the frontline officers on duty that day did not know.

"We should have been better prepared that day, and we could have been better prepared that day if the information was disseminated like it was supposed to be," Johnson said.
Johnson, whose role was to evacuate lawmakers safely, urged for guidance from his superiors but did not hear back. So he took matters into his own hands that day, as seen by footage released by "Tucker Carlson Tonight" from inside the Capitol Building.
However, his career came to a screeching halt after he was spotted outside the Capitol wearing a Make America Great Again hat, which received national attention.
Johnson, a Biden voter, said a Trump supporter placed the MAGA hat on his head. He decided to keep wearing it for self-preservation as he navigated the pro-Trump crowd outside. Johnson was put on an indefinite suspension for doing so and later resigned and lost his pension.

US backs Israel’s ‘legitimate right’ to fight terror following Jenin operation
|

(March 8, 2023 / JNS) The United States expressed support on Tuesday for an Israeli counter-terror operation in Jenin earlier in the day. During the daylight raid, Israeli forces eliminated the terrorist responsible for the murder of two Israelis on Feb. 26, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
“Israel, as we have made the point before, has the legitimate right to defend its people and its territory against all forms of aggression, including, of course, those from terrorist groups,” said State Department spokesman Ned Price during a press briefing.
“And we’ve, as I just mentioned, seen far too many vivid illustrations of the terrorist threat that Israel faces, including in recent days. We remain deeply concerned by the sharp rise in violence in [Judea and Samaria], and we continue to urge the parties to take immediate steps to prevent the further loss of life,” he added. 1. The ‘new normal’: Gaza terrorists respond to Israeli military operations in Judea and Samaria - JNS
(March 8, 2023 / JNS) A new normal is taking hold in the conflict between Israel and Palestinian terrorist factions in the form of responses by Gazan armed factions to events in Judea and Samaria, commonly referred to as the West Bank.
The responses so far from Gaza are deliberately designed to send a message without crossing what Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad consider to be Israeli red lines, which would trigger broader Israeli retaliation in Gaza.
The latest example of this developing trend occurred on Thursday when terrorists in Gaza fired a rocket that exploded just on the Israeli side of the security barrier. Hours later, the Israel Defense Forces reported that an explosive device planted on the Gaza-Israel security barrier went off near Israeli soldiers conducting activity in the sector. 2. After Jenin operation: Rocket fired from Gaza Strip, explodes in Gazan territory - Israel National News
Sirens sounded overnight Tuesday, around 3:00 a.m. local time, in Kibbutz Nir Am, which is located near Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip.
The IDF said that a rocket launch was identified which seems to have exploded inside the Gaza Strip.
An alert was activated in the Home Front Command app for open areas only.
The sirens come hours after IDF, Yamam, and Shin Bet forces eliminated four terrorists in Jenin, including Abd al-Fattah Hussein Ibrahim Gharusha. the terrorist who murdered Hallel and Yagel Yaniv in Huwara a week and a half ago. (Read more)

3. IDFs strikes Hamas unit in Gaza after explosives triggered near Israeli forces - Jerusalem Post
The IDF on Wednesday afternoon fired on a Hamas unit engaging in potentially dangerous explosives-setting activities near the Gaza Strip border.
The IDF said it had detected Hamas units activating a previously planted explosive device near an IDF bulldozer passing near Kibbutz Kissufim that was trying to clear parts of the Gaza border. IDF tank units responded by shelling the position of the attackers in Khan Yunis.
There were no signs that the IDF had responded to firing from Gaza earlier Wednesday, when a rocket landed just inside the Israeli border. Israel anticipated rocket fire from Gaza after the IDF killed several terrorists in Jenin on Tuesday, including the killer on February 26 of Israeli brothers Hallel Menachem Yaniv and Yagel Ya’acov Yaniv, who were shot dead last Tuesday. Opponents of the reforms to Israel’s judicial systems have organized a second “Day of Disruption” for Thursday, a week after tens of thousands of demonstrators snarled traffic and clashed with police throughout the country.
According to statements from various activist groups, Thursday is intended to be a “a day of resistance to the dictatorship, during which traffic in Israel will be disrupted: in the air, at sea, and on land.”

5. Five former police commissioners demand Netanyahu remove Ben Gvir from office - Times of Israel
A group of former Israel Police commissioners has demanded Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remove National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir from his post, saying the far-right lawmaker is acting outside his position’s legal purview and risks igniting violence with Palestinians.
As national security minister, Ben Gvir oversees the police, Border Police and the Prison Service.
Five former police commissioners, three former senior officials from the Prison Service and dozens of other ex-law enforcement officials signed the Tuesday letter to Netanyahu.
The signatories included former police commissioners Roni Alsheich, Shlomo Aharonishki, Assaf Hefetz, Rafi Peled and Moshe Karadi. (Read more)

1. School board targets Christian student teachers to protect LGBTQ students - AZ Central
The Washington Elementary School District school board has a message for education majors who attend Arizona Christian University: You aren’t welcome here.
The board is ending its contract with Arizona Christian University, which for 11 years has supplied student teachers to the north Valley school district. It seems the university’s budding educators are simply too Christian to be allowed to teach in the district’s 32 schools.
The push to cleanse the district of Arizona Christian’s students was spearheaded by Washington Elementary board member Tamillia Valenzuela, who noted the university’s mission to “influence, engage and transform the culture with truth by promoting the biblically informed values that are foundational to Western civilization." 2. NC Republicans Threaten Tillis’s GOP Funds after Same-Sex Marriage Vote - Washington Stand
Grassroots Republicans will prevent an incumbent U.S. senator from accessing any party funds during a primary challenge because of his vote to redefine marriage, if the state party approves their proposal. This week, two of the 12 Republican senators who voted for the so-called Respect for Marriage Act faced massive backlash from their party’s base.
Senator Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) could experience a statewide censure from the North Carolina Republican Party for his support of the bill, which requires states to recognize any marriage legally contracted in any other state — a de facto national redefinition of marriage. Tillis has already earned the censure of roughly one-third of the county GOP chapters statewide, according to Reuters.
Stripping Tillis of party funding could even the balances if the state party agrees to the measure and a socially conservative primary opponent enters the race. (Read more)

3. Left Wing Targets McCarthy Over Jan. 6 Tapes' Release - Newsmax
Public Citizen, a liberal activist nonprofit watchdog group, filed an ethics complaint against House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., for releasing security camera footage of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol to Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The Washington Examiner reported that the group filed the complaint on Tuesday, accusing McCarthy of being politically motivated. Public Citizen asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate McCarthy to determine if he is in violation of House rules.
According to InfluenceWatch, “Public Citizen, Inc. is a liberal 501(c)(4) lobbying and advocacy organization created by left-wing activist and former Green Party presidential candidate Ralph Nader.” (Read more)

4. Supreme Court denies petition from Florida city to toss atheists' First Amendment suit over prayer vigil - Fox News
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected a Florida city's request to dismiss a lawsuit brought by atheists who say they were offended after the city held a prayer vigil following a local mass shooting.
The City of Ocala had asked the Supreme Court to clarify whether "psychic or emotional offense allegedly caused by observation of religious messages" was sufficient to grant the atheists standing to sue, arguing it is not. The Supreme Court denied the city's petition, handing the atheists a temporary win. However, Justice Neil Gorsuch explained in a statement that the lower courts now reviewing the case should ultimately side with Ocala.
The case concerns two individuals, Lucinda Hale and Art Rojas, who are members of the American Humanist Association. Hale and Rojas have accused Ocala of violating the establishment clause of the First Amendment after police organized a prayer vigil with local religious leaders in response to a 2014 shooting in which several children were injured. Court documents said police chaplains were praying and singing on stage while in uniform. (Read more)

5. Seven-figure ad campaign exposes billions in Biden's Medicare cuts after accusations GOP wants to slash - Fox News
Republicans are pushing back on President Biden’s proposed cuts to Medicare Advantage with a new ad campaign upwards of $2 million after the president claimed the GOP is looking to cut Medicare and Social Security funding.
According to a new Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report, Biden moved $307 billion away from Medicare Advantage for green energy projects and to fund his expansion of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), among other projects, effectively offsetting the cuts.
The CBO report found that Biden spent $80 billion of the Medicare Advantage cut cash for IRS expansion, $76 billion "to reduce greenhouse gasses," and $36 billion on refundable tax credits for green energy, among other projects. (Read more)

6. Nine boxes of Biden documents were taken from Boston office - Fox News
Nine boxes of documents were taken from President Biden's attorney Patrick Moore's Boston office, but have yet to be reviewed, the National Archives disclosed in a response letter to Sens. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, this week first obtained by Fox News Digital.
The Archives had not previously publicly disclosed the number of boxes taken from Boston. It had been reported that Moore had shipped boxes of documents from the Penn Biden Center to his Boston office before discovering the initial trove of classified documents at the Washington, D.C.-based think tank.
In response to questions by Johnson and Grassley in a Feb. 24 letter asking how and when the archives learned that records were transported to Boston, Acting Archivist of the United States Debra Steidel Wall responded the agency learned about it on Nov. 3, 2022. (Read more)

7. Federal judge rules Biden's border policies unlawful, just a 'speedbump' for illegal migrants - Fox News
A federal judge in Florida on Wednesday struck down the Biden administration’s use of parole to mass release migrants into the U.S. interior, finding the practice unlawful and accusing the administration of turning the border into a "meaningless line in the sand."
Judge T. Kent Wetherell ruled in response to a lawsuit from the state of Florida, which alleged the administration’s mass release of tens of thousands of migrants via humanitarian parole into Alternatives to Detention — known as "Parole + ATD" — is unlawful.
In a scathing opinion Wednesday, Wetherell stated the Biden administration had "effectively turned the Southwest Border into a meaningless line in the sand and little more than a speedbump for aliens flooding into the country." (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: Many Lies And A Truth

How many lies can be told by the government, news media, and big business? Let me count the lies. Really, there is no end to them. Reaching back to the Obama years, the lies that the government has pushed on the American people, and the news media, as the fourth estate, has supported these lies, and big business has used them to make money, We The People have been duped. Obama said if you like your doctor, you can keep him. Big insurance and the news media said that socialized healthcare would be less expensive and would fix a broken system. Congress ruined the best healthcare system in the world and people still don’t have health insurance, but government medical protocols are forced upon all.
How about Islam being the religion of peace? Obama was so committed to Islam that he encouraged Arab Spring, where radical Islam was allowed to overthrow stable governments across the Middle East, Iran was able to accelerate nuclear development, and Israel’s prime minister had to walk past White House garbage on his way to a meeting which the president stood him up. Here’s another good one—Donald Trump is a criminal because he had classified documents in his personal possession. Hillary Clinton had classified emails on an unsecured server in her closet. Joe Biden had classified documents stashed behind his corvette in his garage. No story here. Read More

Environmental activist Erin Brockovich named in Ohio law enforcement report on “special interest terrorism” threat in East Palestine

Yahoo News obtained the report which was dated Feb. 24 and was distributed to law enforcement agencies by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Ohio Statewide Terrorism Analysis & Crime Center Terrorism Analysis Unit Situational Awareness [STACC TAU].
The report states that the possible terrorist threat “assesses that special interest extremist groups will continue to call for changes in governmental policy, which may lead to protests in/around East Palestine and/or at the Statehouse in Columbus.”
The report went on to state that Brockovich blamed the rail company involved in the incident, Norfolk Southern, and that the in-person event she planned in East Palestine could increase tensions there:

“On 24 February, environmental activist Erin BrockovichUSPER [United States person] is scheduled to be in East Palestine to explain residents’ legal rights. Brokovich has urged the community to use common sense and ask questions. Brockovich is also placing blame solely on Norfolk Southern. The STACC TAU assess this event could potentially increase tensions within the community.”
Ohio Statewide Terrorism Analysis & Crime Center Terrorism Analysis Unit Situational Awareness [STACC TAU] report on East Palestine
According to Yahoo News, DHS posted the report on its intelligence sharing platform on Feb. 28, making it available to its more than 150,000 local, state and federal police and other partners nationwide.
The report assesses risks posed by Brockovich and other what it calls extremist activist groups and differentiates them from “traditional right-wing and left-wing terrorism in that extremist special interest groups seek to resolve specific issues, rather than effect widespread political change.”
The Ohio Department of Public Safety denied issuing the report naming Brockovich, according to Yahoo News. (WTRF.com) Read more here.

West Virginia train derailment injures 3, rockslide causes fiery diesel fuel and oil spill

CSX says three crew members suffered non-life threatening injuries
|
|
|
A train derailment in West Virginia on Wednesday morning left three people injured and caused a fire after diesel fuel and oil spilled out onto the ground.
CSX said in a statement that four locomotives and 22 empty train cars derailed in Summers County near the New River. The company said that the lead locomotive, carrying a conductor, engineer, and an engineer trainee, caught fire and the crew members suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The company also said that an unoccupied locomotive was left partially in the river after the derailment, adding that oil and diesel fuel spilled. Environmental containment measures were in place after the derailment.
"An unknown quantity of diesel fuel and oil spilled from the derailed locomotives and environmental measures will be deployed in the New River for containment," CSX said. "There were no hazardous materials being transported by this train. The incident posed no danger to the public."
The West Virginia Emergency Management Division said that CSX will be responsible for the cleanup.
"CSX owns twelve feet from the middle of the track to either side and will be responsible for cleanup. The company is sending a spill response unit that will coordinate with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) on mitigation and remediation efforts," the state agency said in a statement. The irrational screams and fist pounding coming from all sides against Tucker Carlson for releasing surveillance video from January 6th is unbelievable and very telling.
Yesterday, Senator Charles Schumer, the majority leader of the United States Senate, demanded that Fox News censor and silence Tucker Carlson! Schumer’s remarks were an astonishing assault on the First Amendment and the freedom of the press.
But Schumer wasn’t alone. Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Thom Tillis (the establishment’s model senator), and others joined the attack against Carlson.
Washington lives off the publication of secret information. From the Pentagon Papers to James Comey’s memos, this city thrives off of leaks. But actual footage of an event we were told was an attempt to overthrow the government? Well, that’s just beyond the pale!
Why the outrage over this video? Eighty percent (80%) of Americans, including 86% of Republicans, 78% of Democrats and 75% of Independents, believe it is important for this information to be released.
So, why would Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell come together to condemn Fox News and Tucker Carlson? Why were many “journalists” so eager to condemn a journalist for doing journalism?
Because they’re all in on the uniparty agenda in Washington – open borders, global trade deals, cultural relativism, no-win wars, surrendering big decisions to unelected international organizations. It’s a very telling moment.
As Tucker Carlson said in response, “It’s not outrage. It’s fear. It’s panic.”
These establishment hacks share a visceral hatred, not just of Donald Trump, but of the idea that millions of working-class Americans -- all the deplorables in “flyover country” -- might rally again and dare to think that they should control their own destinies and the fate of their own country.
And anyone who doesn’t toe the line, who dares to question the official narrative must be silenced.

Approaching Comet Predicted to Shine Brighter
Than Stars in The Sky

Make a note of the newly discovered comet with the lengthy name of C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS): as it gets closer to the Sun and our planet, it could shine brighter in Earth's night sky than many stars.
The comet's nearest approach to the Sun, or perihelion, won't be until September 28, 2024, before hitting its closest point to Earth a few weeks later on October 13, so you've got plenty of time to get your blanket and telescopes organized.
Though estimates are extremely tentative, astronomers are predicting a brightness of magnitude 0.7 at the comet's perihelion. Keeping in mind numbers lower on the magnitude scale represent brighter objects, with Betelgeuse in the Orion constellation at around 0.42, and Antares – the brightest star in the constellation Scorpio – a little dimmer at a touch over 1.
At its closest point to Earth, the comet's magnitude could reach an even more dazzling -0.2, which would make it one of the brightest objects in the night sky. Add in the effects of forward scattering, where the dust and ice of the comet reflects the light from the Sun, and we might even reach a -5 magnitude.
Unless its rendezvous with a star doesn't rip it to shreds before it swings back out on its way into the outer Solar System, that is. Read More

Regent University Hosts Week of Open Prayer and Worship to Make Room for Revival
|

Over the past month, revival has spread across college campuses and throughout places of worship in the United States. What some have referred to as a potential new great awakening within Christian history started as a spark on the campus of Asbury University, where thousands of Christians gathered for two weeks of Spirit-led worship, prayer, and repentance. That unplanned outpouring is raising hopes because a previous revival in 1970 on the Asbury campus was seen as a significant driver behind the Jesus Movement of the 70s.
Regent University's Director of Campus Ministries, Dr. Jeff Gossman, traveled to the Asbury University campus, when the nationwide revival was getting started. Upon his return, he shared that "God is making known his claim on GenZ. This generation has suffered so much loss due to the pandemic. This current outpouring is like their coming-of-age party, where Jesus says to them, 'I see you. Welcome to the table.'"
Additionally, the dean of Regent University's School of Divinity, Dr. Corne Bekker, shared, "This is their moment where God is getting a hold of (Gen Z) hearts. Their eyes are opening, and they are surrendering their lives to Christ." Following the spark of revival, dozens of believers have poured into the Shaw Chapel on the Regent University campus to attend weekly chapel services and unplanned gatherings over the past couple of weeks. Regent University has shared that, "these gatherings – some up to six hours long – have been marked by humble worship, teaching of scripture, prayer, repentance, and spiritual renewal."
