US Committed to WHO Pandemic Accord, Ambassador Says
|
|
The lead negotiator representing the United States in discussions on a global pandemic accord said in a statement this week that the United States is committed to the accord amid debate on the draft document.
Leaders are meeting this week in Geneva as part of the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Bureau (INB) to consider a “Zero Draft” (pdf) of the agreement.
The INB was set up by the World Health Assembly in December 2021 to “draft and negotiate a convention, agreement or other international instrument under the Constitution of the World Health Organization to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.”
The first draft was released this month and is being debated during this week’s meeting and will be continuing in April. The INB will issue a report on the development of the accord at the WHA in May with a final report expected in 2024. On the agenda this week is to decide whether the draft will be the basis of negotiations for a pandemic accord and discuss the document in-depth.
Former Republican U.S. congresswoman Michelle Backmann called the possibility of the United States joining the accord a power grab by the Biden administration.
“There has never been a bigger power grab than this power grab—and it’s being led by the Biden administration,” Bachmann told Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council. “The whole purpose of this legislation would be that 194 countries, all of the member states of the UN, would give up their sovereignty to the World Health Organization over health care.”
She added she believed the accord would empower the WHO to make decisions over things such as vaccines, masks, lockdowns and supply chains. (Epoch Times) Read more here.

Putin Signs Bill to Suspend Last Nuclear Arms
Treaty With US

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday signed a measure to formally suspend the last remaining nuclear arms pact with the United States amid high tensions over the war in Ukraine.
Russia will no longer take part in the New START treaty, according to the bill he signed that was published by the Kremlin. The document says that it’s up to the president to decide whether Moscow could return to the pact.
Putin had declared a week ago in his state-of-the-nation address that Moscow was suspending its participation in the 2010 New START treaty. He had charged that Russia can’t accept U.S. inspections of its nuclear sites under the pact at a time when Washington and its NATO allies have openly declared Russia’s defeat in Ukraine as their goal.
Both houses of parliament quickly ratified Putin’s bill on the pact’s suspension last week. On Tuesday, Putin signed it into law, effective immediately.
Putin has emphasized that Moscow was not withdrawing from the pact altogether, and the Russian Foreign Ministry said the country would respect the caps on nuclear weapons set under the treaty and keep notifying the United States about test launches of ballistic missiles.
“As of today, Russia is suspending its participation in the strategic offensive arms treaty,” Putin said in a national address last week. “We’re not withdrawing from the agreement,” he added. “We’re just suspending [our participation in] it.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Tucker Carlson Has Limited ‘Access’ to Jan. 6 Tapes,
Republican Confirms
|
|
A key Republican lawmaker said Fox News’ Tucker Carlson doesn’t have unrestricted access to tens of thousands of hours of Jan. 6 Capitol footage, said a Republican lawmaker, coming after it was confirmed that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) handed the footage to him.
“It’s basically controlled access to be able to view tapes. Can’t record, can’t take anything with you,” Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), the chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, told The Hill Tuesday, adding that his panel is working with the House sergeant-at-arms and Capitol Police. “Then they will request any particular clips that—that they may need, and then we’ll make sure that there’s nothing sensitive, nothing classified—you know, escape routes.”
Elaborating, Loudermilk told CBS News that Carlson’s staff “may request any particular clips they may need, then we’ll make sure there’s nothing sensitive, nothing classified, including escape routes … we don’t want al-Qaeda to know certain things.”
While both McCarthy and Carlson have confirmed the move, few details about the agreement were provided. Other mainstream outlets have asked McCarthy to provide them with the footage.
Loudermilk said that those news outlets and the public would ultimately get access to the tapes. “Hopefully sooner rather than later, but I think we’re talking about weeks to months,” he told CBS.
A group of outlets—Advance Publications, ABC News, Axios, CBS News, CNN, Scripps, Gannett, the Los Angeles Times, Politico, and ProPublica—wrote a letter to McCarthy and other congressional leaders to grant access to the footage.
“Without full public access to the complete historical record, there is concern that an ideologically-based narrative of an already polarizing event will take hold in the public consciousness, with destabilizing risks to the legitimacy of Congress, the Capitol Police, and the various federal investigations and prosecutions of January 6 crimes,” attorney Charles Tobin wrote on behalf the media outlets last week. 1. Ben Gvir Time: Police Finally Move Against Anarchist Demonstrators - Jewish Press
For the first time since illegal demonstrations against the government’s judicial reform began some eight weeks ago, leftist protesters are receiving police treatment that comes a wee bit closer to what Haredim and settlers have been used to for decades.
Israel police announced Wednesday afternoon that they had arrested dozens of demonstrators in central Israel for disorderly conduct. There were huge riots between police and protesters at the Shalom Interchange of the Ayalon highway, where protesters broke through police barriers and managed to get on Israel’s busiest highway.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir conducted a situation assessment at the Tel Aviv police headquarters with Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai and Tel Aviv Commander David Philo. Ben Gvir stated: “There must be zero tolerance to anarchists who attack policemen, break through police barriers and create anarchy.” (Read more)

2. Widespread protests over judicial reforms result in dozens arrested, major disruptions - Israel Hayom
Protesters against the judicial reform proposed by the government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blocked a major traffic route leading from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem Wednesday morning.
Images on social media showed Highway 1 blocked off with chains and barbed wires, with demonstrators making good on their promise to escalate methods. The police later cleared the area and traffic resumed. Protesters also disrupted traffic within Tel Aviv and even blocked passengers from getting on trains.
Demonstrations intensified toward noon, with dozens injured and detained. Toward noon, many protesters descended on the Ayalon Highway near the Azrieli Shopping Center, one of the busiest areas in Israel. In the ensuing clashes, police fired stun grenades at demonstrators. (Read more)

3. Mass protests continue into the night in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem - Times of Israel
Thousands of Israelis have gathered for evening protests across the country, capping a day of near-around-the-clock demonstrations against the government’s judicial overhaul plan.
The two main evening protests are held in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
In Tel Aviv, where hundreds surrounded a hair salon where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife, Sara, was being tended to inside, the protesters proceeded to block several main roads.
In the Jerusalem neighborhood of Rehavia, hundreds of protesters marching toward the Prime Minister’s Residence were blocked by police as they sought to block the road. The showdown lead to minor scuffles with the cops. (Read more)

4. Israeli Forces Arrest 3-Man Terrorist Cell Behind Deadly Jericho Shooting - Algemeiner
i24 News – Israeli security forces on Wednesday raided a three-man Palestinian cell in an operation in the refugee camp of Aqabat Jaber in the West Bank.
The raid targeted a house that served as a hideout for the terrorists who murdered Israeli-American Elan Ganeles earlier this week. The joint Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet operation took place concurrently with the victim’s funeral.
Two of the terrorists were arrested while the third was shot as he tried to flee.
Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Galant praised the successful completion of the operation. (Read more)

5. Ancient inscription with name of King Darius found in Israel - Israel
In December 2022, Eylon Levy, international media advisor to the President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog, and his friend Yakov Ashkenazi, visited the Tel Lachish National Park and chanced on a small potsherd with some inscribed letters.
When they reported it to the Israel Antiquities Authority, the ostracon was examined in the advanced Analytical Laboratory and studied by Saar Ganor of the Israel Antiquities Authority and Dr. Haggai Misgav of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
To their astonishment, it turned out to be a rare find furnishing evidence for the Persian royal administration at Lachish in the Achaemenid period, at the turn of the fifth century BCE. (Read more)

1. EPA to Move East Palestine Chemical Waste to Another State - Epoch Times
Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb criticized a plan from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to move waste from the derailed train site in East Palestine, Ohio, to a landfill in Indiana.
Officials from the EPA told media outlets Monday that contaminated waste the derailment will be taken to an incinerator in Grafton, Ohio, and a landfill in Roachdale, Indiana. Both locations are hundreds of miles away from East Palestine.
The EPA now is getting close to having enough certified facilities to take all of the waste from the site of the Feb. 3 derailment in East Palestine, Debra Shore, a regional administrator with the agency, told The Associated Press. Some of the remaining liquid waste is going to a facility in Vickery, Ohio, for disposal in an underground injection well. Norfolk Southern is also shipping solid waste to an incinerator in East Liverpool, Ohio, officials also said. (Read more)

2. NYC Mayor Eric Adams says when America 'took prayers out of schools, guns came into schools' - Fox News
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday morning that when the U.S. took prayers out of schools, guns replaced them. "When we took prayers out of schools, guns came into schools," he said to applause from religious leaders at the annual Interfaith Breakfast in Manhattan.
The mayor was discussing the role that religious people could play in reducing societal problems.
"Don't tell me about no separation of church and state. State is the body. Church is the heart. You take the heart out of the body, the body dies," Adams said.
"I can't separate my belief because I'm an elected official. When I walk, I walk with God. When I talk, I talk with God. When I put policies in place, I put them in with a God-like approach to them. That's who I am," he continued. (Read more)

3. Department Of Agriculture Releases ‘Equity’ Plan For Farming - The Daily Caller
The “Equity” Commission at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) unveiled an interim report Tuesday with 32 recommendations for the agency to advance “equity” in farming.
The commission’s recommendations address the USDA’s research programs, nutrition programs, commitment to farmworkers, department-wide change and how the agency works with farmers, ranchers and producers on a day-to-day basis. Outgoing Deputy Secretary Jewel Bronaugh and United Farm Workers President Emeritus Arturo Rodriguez led the Equity Commission’s report.
“We didn’t want this set of interim recommendations to look like things we’ve seen in previous reports,” Bronaugh said Tuesday, NPR reported. “We wanted to get at systemic change.”
President Joe Biden signed an executive order in 2021 directing the federal government to advance “racial equity” and support underserved communities. The $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan legislation passed in March 2021 directed the USDA to create the commission and provide it with adequate funding.

4. 12 Democratic-led states challenge restrictions on abortion pill - NBC News
Twelve Democratic-led states have sued the Food and Drug Administration to challenge certain federal restrictions imposed on the distribution of the abortion pill mifepristone, saying those limits are not supported by evidence.
The lawsuit, led by Washington state and Oregon, was filed on Thursday in federal court in Yakima, Washington and aims to expand access to mifepristone by allowing it to be prescribed and dispensed by any doctor or pharmacy, like most drugs. Currently, doctors who prescribe mifepristone, and pharmacies that dispense it, must obtain a special certification.
Meanwhile, a separate lawsuit by anti-abortion activists that seeks to end access to the drug is proceeding in Texas.
Mifepristone, in combination with the drug misoprostol, was approved in 2000 by the FDA for medication abortion in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. Medication abortion accounts for more than half of U.S. abortions. (Read more)

5. Oklahoma Senate Moves to Ensure Only US Citizens Are Voting in State Elections - NTD News
The Oklahoma Senate on Feb. 22 approved legislation aimed at helping county election boards remove illegal aliens from voter registration rolls in a move that lawmakers say will prevent unlawful voting from taking place.
The bill, known as SB 377, was authored by state Sen. Brent Howard (R-Dis. 38) at the request of Oklahoma’s Secretary of the State Election Board. Specifically, under the legislation, the voter registration of anyone who has been excused from jury duty for not being a U.S. citizen would be canceled.
According to the bill (pdf), the county court clerks would each month prepare a list of all individuals “excused from jury duty for not being a citizen of the United States and provide the list to the secretary of the county election board.” Once the list has been acquired, the local election board secretary would then be required to “cancel the registration of each registered voter included on the list” and “report the person or persons to the district attorney and the United States attorney for the county.” (Read more)

6. Revival Spreads to Texas A&M, Indiana Wesleyan and LSU - CBS News
As the outpouring that began at Asbury University continues to spread, some of the signs may not involve massive worship services in an auditorium. There's still plenty of proof that God is on the move, like outdoor prayer gatherings and baptisms at more colleges, even secular ones that don't have regular chapel times.
Michael Fehlauer, the lead pastor of the New Life Church in Corpus Christi, Texas, posted videos to social media that showed baptisms being performed in a public fountain at Texas A&M Galveston.
Healings are also being reported. One report from Texas A&M in College Station revealed that an A&M student who couldn't previously walk unaided, walked 20 steps after Aggies students prayed over him. One young man shared what he saw in a video posted to Facebook. (Read more)

7. China warns Elon Musk after COVID lab leak comments - Fox Business
China is warning Twitter CEO Elon Musk against sharing posts that promote the lab leak theory of the coronavirus, suggesting that such commentary could hurt Tesla’s relationship with the company’s second-largest market.
The cryptic warning came on a social media post by the state-run Global Times newspaper. The writer was reacting to Musk commenting on a tweet that mentioned the Department of Energy’s conclusion that COVID-19 originated at a lab in Wuhan, China.
The original tweet, from the account "Kanekoa The Great," questioned whether Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was involved in the development of COVID-19 because he had funded "gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab." (Read more)

8. At least 38 dead, scores injured as trains collide in Greece - CNN News
Rescue workers are searching for survivors after a head-on collision between two trains in central Greece killed dozens of people and left scores injured, raising questions about the country’s poor track record of railway safety.
At least 38 people were killed when a passenger train carrying more than 350 people collided with a freight train on Tuesday, shortly before midnight, in Tempi, near the city of Larissa, leaving strewn carriages and heaps of debris in its wake. The Greek Fire Service said 57 people were being treated for their injuries in hospital, with six in intensive care units.
The country’s transport minister resigned Wednesday, saying the railway system the government inherited was “not up to 21st century standards.”
The two trains involved in the fatal collision were traveling on the same track for many kilometers before the incident occurred, state-owned public broadcaster ERT reported Wednesday. The passenger train had changed lanes and switched to a cargo track before it collided head-on with a freight train, according to ERT. (Read more)

9. Firefighter dies battling blaze in downtown Buffalo, mayor says - CBS News
A Buffalo firefighter has died battling a blaze in the city's downtown area, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said. The 37-year-old firefighter was not immediately identified.
The four-alarm fire broke out around 10 a.m. Wednesday in a three-story building on Main Street, the Buffalo Fire Department said.
Buffalo Fire Commissioner William Renaldo said that there were reports of workers who were renovating the building using torches on the outside the building, which the fire department believes was the cause of the blaze. The fire may have been smoldering inside the building for some time before a backdraft sent flames shooting out of the building in what at first appeared to be an explosion, Renaldo said.
It was not immediately clear exactly how the firefighter died, but Renaldo said he had been near a part of the building that collapsed.
"The situation deteriorated very rapidly," Renaldo said, adding that the firefighter who was killed was about 30 or 40 feet inside the building on the main floor when the partial collapse happened. "The rest of the firefighters on scene were able to safely evacuate, but unfortunately he was not able to." (Read more)

Stupidocrisy: Lies And Makers Of Lies

Shocker alert! In a FOX News interview Tuesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray publicly confirmed what many have been saying for three years and the federal government has been denying—that the COVID virus likely originated from a lab in Wuhan, China. Moreover, he admitted in so many words that the virus responsible for the deaths of millions around the world was a bioweapon and that killing people was “precisely what that capability was designed for.” Think about how many people were censored, demonized and marginalized by social media tech firms, the mainstream news media, and the medical and scientific communities for the mere suggestion that this virus didn’t jump from bats at a Chinese marketplace.
Wray told FOX News: “the FBI has folks, agents, professionals, analysts, virologists, microbiologists, etc. who focus specifically on the dangers of biological threats, which include things like novel viruses like COVID and the concerns that, in the wrong hands, some bad guys, a hostile nation-state, a terrorist, a criminal, the threats that those could pose. So, here, you’re talking about a potential leak from a Chinese government-controlled lab that killed millions of Americans, and that’s precisely what that capability was designed for. I should add that our work related to this continues, and there are not a whole lot of details I can share that aren’t classified. I will just make the observation that the Chinese government, it seems to me, has been doing its best to try to thwart and obfuscate the work here…and that’s unfortunate for everybody.” Read More

From The Wall Street Journal. The warnings keep coming that the force-fed energy transition to renewable fuels is destabilizing the U.S. electric grid, but is anyone in government paying attention? Another S.O.S. came Friday in an ominous report from PJM Interconnection, one of the nation’s largest grid operators.
The PJM report forecasts power supply and demand through 2030 across the 13 eastern states in its territory covering 65 million people. Its top-line conclusion: Fossil-fuel power plants are retiring much faster than renewable sources are getting developed, which could lead to energy “imbalances.” …
[It’s] especially worrisome that PJM is predicting a large decline in its power reserves as coal and natural-gas plants retire. The report forecasts that 40,000 megawatts (MW) of power generation—enough to light up 30 million households—are at risk of retiring by 2030, representing about 21% of PJM’s current generation capacity. …

We pray that though they plot evil against us and devise wicked plans and devices, they cannot succeed. You stretch Your right hand and swallow their evil plans. Lord, You said the wicked are like chaff that the wind blows away. Lord, we ask You to protect every electrical grid in this nation. You confuse the plans of the wicked tyrants who seek to diminish our access to electricity and maliciously attack our electrical grids. You thwart their attempts to bring America’s citizens into submission to accept their evil take-over plan. We ask You to reveal every person involved in their scheme, including those who plan destruction to those who implement their directives.

In 2022, Israel registered some 5,000 attacks perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists, who murdered 31 people and injured 415, official government’s data shows.
Eleven people were assassinated in the month of March, making it one of the bloodiest months in recent history. Another 27 were wounded. In addition, October was the month with the highest number of attacks – 401, not including rock throwing. They included two assaults, two vehicular attacks, 32 arson attacks, 46 small-arm attacks, 60 pipe-bomb and 258 fire-bomb attacks. They resulted in numerous people killed and wounded.
The wave of terrorism has not ceased in 2023. Since the beginning of the year, 16 innocent civilians have been killed and many more injured in major terror attacks.

NOW WE KNOW

His tombstone reads, “Now I know something you don’t.” Indeed, he now knows the answer to the age-old question about what happens after you die. What he now knows, is either the greatest reward, or the greatest punishment.
In the same way, the American church now knows something. And what we now know threatens us with either great reward or great punishment.
God has answered the burning question about revival in America, because He personally lit the fire. Now we know—because of Asbury University—that the Holy Spirit can suspend church life and, without warning, ignite youth to seek the Lord with unbridled passion.
But this season of fire did not begin at Asbury. It began in a far more unlikely setting, with a far more explosive implication.
The spark came during an NFL game in Cincinnati. The date was January 2, 2023, and the place was the football field of Paycor Stadium. During a game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills, Damar Hamlin, a 24-year-old football player for the Buffalo Bills, went into cardiac arrest after making a tackle.
Players and coaches hugged, wept and prayed as he was taken away in an ambulance. When Damar Hamlin’s heart stopped, America held its breath.
Instantly, prayer was legal again in the NFL. The word ‘prayer’ would be used more in the next 3 hours than in the previous 3 years.
Now we know that when God wants to, He can put millions of Americans under conviction. . . Next, the Holy Spirit pays a visit to Asbury University and starts a blaze
. . But all of this is not just good news—it is frightening news. Why?
Because it means that a massive harvest of souls is coming and we will be punished severely if we miss it.. . .
I cannot shake the feeling that if we sleep through this harvest, we will have no more America. No election will save us. No amount of money will deliver us.
Now we know. Vast fields of human souls are ripening—because Jesus said so!
John 4:35, “Do you think the work of harvesting will not begin until the summer ends four months from now? Look around you! Vast fields of human souls are ripening all around us, and are ready now for reaping.”

A new report finds that these fierce tropical storms are changing. They are getting stronger faster, bringing more flooding rain and pushing farther inland.
(CNN) -- As the planet warms, hurricanes are changing -- they are getting stronger faster, bringing more flooding rain, pushing farther inland after they make landfall and tracking farther north in general.
Those changes are exposing more people and properties to hurricanes' damaging winds, according to a new report from nonprofit organization First Street Foundation -- with the potential to cause millions of dollars in damage in the coming decades.
Importantly, the report lays out how homeowners' financial loss from hurricane damage is likely to increase significantly in surprising new places, including the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
The First Street analysis, which covers the next 30 years -- or the typical life of a home mortgage -- shows Florida and the Gulf Coast will continue to have the largest magnitude of financial loss from hurricane damage. But the future holds a significant uptick in damage for regions that previously have tended to be safer from the most devastating storms. Read More

Holy Spirit Moves at AG University in Pennsylvania

The University of Valley Forge, an Assemblies of God institution in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, has a storied and miraculous history. In 2013, Charisma Media Founder Stephen Strang reported Valley Forge, founded in 1939, won a Supreme Court case in 1978 that allowed it to keep its beautiful 106-acre campus, and it has been churning out godly community leaders since its founding in 1939. And now, Valley Forge has joined the growing list of universities, high schools, grade schools and churches where the Holy Spirit has overwhelmed these campus and where nationwide revival—if not an awakening—is becoming more and more evident each day. It all started with Asbury University nearly three weeks and, the fire is spreading.
On social media Wednesday, author and evangelist Rick Curry posted the news of an outpouring at Valley Forge. "GREAT NEWS! Valley Forge College in Pennsylvania is still in chapel service since 11 a.m. and school has cancelled classes for TOMORROW! There is a move of God coming no building can contain and no ministry will control. Reported from trusted friend!" Curry posted an update Friday from Valley Forge: "Valley Forge College! Update. We are so excited to see the Holy Spirit rest upon a generation and raise them us to take their place in the storyline of history! Let's go! Let's encourage, support and get excited this generation can change the world!"
At mid-day Friday, Curry also posted a video that he and others were "on their way to revival in Florence, Kentucky. Wednesday, Dr. Michael Yeager of Jesus is Lord Ministries, posted this on Facebook: "Carrie Brooks: There is a beautiful move of the Holy Spirit happening at UVF—University of Valley Forge right now...
