Turkey lifts veto on Finland, Sweden joining NATO, clearing path for expansion

NATO ally Turkey lifted its veto over Finland and Sweden's bid to join the Western alliance on Tuesday after the three nations agreed to protect each other's security, ending a weeks-long drama that tested allied unity against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The breakthrough came after four hours of talks just before a NATO summit began in Madrid, averting an embarrassing impasse at the gathering of 30 leaders that aims to show resolve against Russia, now seen by the U.S.-led alliance as a direct security threat rather than a possible adversary.

It means Helsinki and Stockholm can proceed with their application to join the nuclear-armed alliance, cementing what is set to be the biggest shift in European security in decades, as the two, long-neutral Nordic countries seek NATO protection. (Reuters)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Bennett will not run in upcoming elections - Israel National News

Prime Minister Naftali Bennet has informed the members of his Yamina party that he does not intend to run in the upcoming elections in the fall.

Bennett will make an official announcement at 8 PM tonight.

Bennett will stay on as alternate prime minister after Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid becomes interim prime minister after the dispersion of the Knesset is finalized.

Interior Minister Ayelet Shaed has reportedly attempted to convince Bennett to run in the upcoming elections. However, following recent polls showing a drop in support for the Yamina party Bennett has come to believe that the party was not guaranteed to pass the electoral threshold. (Read more)

2. 'Iranian security establishment shaken by Israeli breaches' - Israel National News

A series of recent incidents inside Iran attributed to Israeli agents has significantly undermined the Iranian security establishment’s confidence in its own intelligence operations, and led to the recent shakeup in leadership, an Iranian cleric and former vice president said.

According to a report by The New York Times Wednesday, the replacement of Hossein Taib, head of the intelligence unit of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), last week was a direct result of Israeli security operations in Iran, along with the failure of Iranian plots abroad.

The report cited former Iranian Vice President Mohammad Ali Abtahi, who spoke with the Times by phone.

“The security breaches inside Iran and the vast scope of operations by Israel have really undermined our most powerful intelligence organization,” Abtahi said. “The strength of our security has always been the bedrock of the Islamic Republic and it has been damaged in the past year.” (Read more)

3.  IDF thwarts attempt to smuggle 7M shekels in cocaine into Israel - World Israel News

The IDF foiled on Tuesday night a drug smuggling operation on the Egyptian border in which smugglers attempted to traffic about 7 million shekels worth of drugs into Israel.

IDF troops who arrived on the scene identified three suspects who sought to smuggle the drugs into Israel from the area of the Yoav Territorial Brigade along the Egyptian border.

The IDF seized about 28 kilograms of cocaine, which is estimated to be worth 7 million shekels. The drugs were transferred to the Israeli Police for further analysis.

Incidents of drug smuggling attempts along the Egyptian border have become frequent in recent months – just two weeks ago a similar attempt to smuggle drugs worth 2.5 million shekels was thwarted by the IDF. However, the smuggling of cocaine is fairly rare, as smugglers usually attempt to run hashish. (Read more)

4. Israel Accuses Hezbollah of Trying to Hack UN Lebanon Peacekeepers - Algemeiner

Israel accused the Iranian-backed Lebanese militia Hezbollah on Wednesday of conducting a cyber operation designed to disrupt a UN peacekeeping mission on the border between the countries, and threatened harsh Israeli retaliation against enemy hackers.

The allegation — to which there was no immediate response from Hezbollah or Tehran — came as Israeli-Iranian tensions soar.

In what he termed a first public disclosure of the incident, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said “Iranian security institutions in cooperation with Hezbollah (recently) launched a cyber operation with the aim of stealing materials about UNIFIL activities and deployment in the area, for Hezbollah’s use.” (Read more)

5. UN Security Council meeting spotlights Russia’s continued disenchantment with Israel - JNS

(June 28, 2022 / JNS) Monday’s closed consultations at the United Nations Security Council meant that the usual fireworks surrounding the monthly meeting on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict were quieted. Both Israeli and Palestinian Authority representatives were absent from the meeting.

The United States gave a largely balanced statement, with Deputy Ambassador to the U.N. Richard Mills opening by noting the Biden administration’s “outrage over the string of terrorist attacks against Israelis this year.”

He added that the U.S. condemns “the rocket attacks launched from the Gaza Strip again this month, which … broke a two-month pause in rocket fire from Gaza. Many Israelis, especially those who reside close to the border with Gaza, live in perpetual fear that they or their families could come under attack at any time. This must stop.” (Read more)

1. FBI Lies And Entrapment Result In Probation Sentence For Former Republican Congressman - The Federalist

Former Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, R-Nebraska, has been sentenced to probation for lying to the federal government. But the only things we know for certain are that the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) lied to entrap Fortenberry, and used two men who broke campaign finance laws to betray the congressman in his zeal to help persecuted Christians in the Middle East.

A Los Angeles jury convicted Fortenberry in March on three felony counts of lying to the FBI and scheming to cover it up. The congressman faced a maximum sentence of 15 years — five years for each count. The prosecution had sought a six-month prison sentence. Tuesday, however, U.S. District Judge Stanley Blumenfeld, Jr. sentenced the former congressman to two years of probation, as well as a $25,000 fine and 320 hours of community service.

In handing down his sentence, Blumenfeld said that everyone, including the prosecution witnesses, attests that Fortenberry is “a man of exceptional character.” Fortenberry and his defense team are appealing the convictions. (Read more)

- Lord God we do not know what is going on with this case behind the scenes but we know that you do. We say no to the corruption that goes on in these agencies and we declare that your will would be done in this situation and that justice and truth will win in the end. In the name of Jesus amen!

- "So you, by the help of your God, return, hold fast to love and justice, and wait continually for your God."

2.  56 Companies Announce Abortion Perks. Hundreds More Stay Silent - The Washington Stand

The New York Times was just one of the outlets scratching its head over Big Business’s “muted response” to Dobbs. “Companies are more vocal than ever on social issues,” reporters Emma Goldberg and Lora Kelley insisted. But “not on abortion.” To the Times, the measured reactions were even more noticeable in June, when the pride deluge is so corporately all-consuming. “Most [brands] stayed silent,” the duo noted, “including some companies that are known for speaking out on social issues such as Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ rights. Some of the corporations that blacked out their Instagram pages in 2020 or featured rainbow flags on their websites for Pride Month have so far been hesitant to comment on abortion.”

“Executives are feeling some trepidation around this,” Dave Fleet, a PR expert at Edelman, admitted. “They’re concerned about backlash because they know there’s no way to please everyone.” In most boardrooms, there’s a genuine fear about becoming the next Republican target — a fact that was obvious in the ranks of this weekend’s “no comments.” Brands like Coca-Cola and Delta, who outraged Americans by wading into Georgia’s election reform debate last year, were noticeably silent on Roe.

But there are plenty of companies who don’t mind touching the hot stove of the culture wars, as 56 CEOs raced to announce updated “health care” policies that include thousands of dollars in abortion stipends and travel reimbursement. (Read more)

- Lord God, we lift up all of the companies that have stayed silent to you and we just pray that by your Spirit you are speaking to each and every one of them about how they should respond to this historic decision. We pray over each and every one of them that they would be bold and courageous to stand up for life and for the truth! In Your Mighty Name, Amen!

- "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." (1 Corinthians 15:58)

3. New York Supreme Court strikes down law that allowed non-citizens to vote - The Post Millennial

New York City's City Council approved a measure in January to give non-citizens the right to vote in local elections. But after a suit was brought by the GOP lawmakers, the New York Supreme Court ruled that no, non-citizens do not have the right to vote.

The plan would have added some 800,000 New Yorkers to the voting rolls, and would have allowed them to vote for mayor, public advocate, city council, borough presidents, and school boards.

Justice Ralph Porzio said that the law was in direct violation of the New York State Constitution. "The New York State Constitution expressly states that citizens meeting the age and residency requirements are entitled to register and vote in elections," he said. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of citizenship in a free country with the right to vote. May our recognition of our citizenship in Heaven make us better citizens here on earth. We pray that godly candidates would honor You in their campaigns, win their upcoming primaries, and that many believers would take this opportunity to think biblically, pray earnestly, and vote wisely. May You be glorified, in Jesus’ name.

- “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

4. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to retire Thursday - Fox News

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has announced that he will step down from the high court effective Thursday at noon.

Breyer, who notified President Biden in January of his intent to retire at the end of the current term, updated the president in a letter Wednesday, after the Supreme Court made it known that it will issue its final opinions of the term Thursday morning.

"The Court has announced that tomorrow, beginning at 10 a.m., it will hand down all remaining opinions ready during this Term. Accordingly, my retirement from active service under the provisions of 28 U.S.C. § 371(b) will be effective on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at noon," Breyer wrote. (Read more)

- Lord God, we thank you for the Supreme Court and the righteous rulings they have made in these last couple of weeks! We declare that your will be done in this Court and that the new justice who will take Breyer’s chair on the Supreme Court would take her position seriously, honor the Constitution, and honor your Word. In Jesus name.

- “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” (Roman’s 12:10)

5. Disney Animated Children’s Series ‘Baymax’ Features Transgender ‘Man’ Who Menstruates - Brietbart

Baymax, which began streaming Wednesday on Disney+, follows the adventures of the balloon-like robot from the 2014 movie Big Hero 6 who is on a mission to serve as good Samaritan to the residents of the fictional city San Fransokyo.

The transgender character appears in episode three titled “Sofia,” in which Baymax assists a 12-year-old girl who experiences her first period.

When a mortified Sofia barricades herself in a gender-neutral restroom at school, Baymax offers to buy her “menstrual hygiene materials.” At the store, Baymax is bombarded by suggestions from helpful shoppers, including a transgender character who is wearing a transgender-flag shirt. “I always get the one wings,” the trans “man” tells Baymax. - Lord God, we pray for increased discernment for parents and especially Christian families all over the world when it comes to studying the companies that influence our children. We pray that you would encourage families to be proactive to do research on what these organizations stand for and what exactly they are pushing on our children so that we can properly raise them up to fulfill their purpose and their plan that you have established for them before they were born. In Jesus name. Amen.

- “You shall teach them to your sons, talking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road and when you lie down and when you rise up.”

(Deuteronomy 11:19)

6. Trump White House attorney disputes Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony about handwritten noteABC News

Former Trump White House lawyer Eric Herschmann is claiming that a handwritten note regarding a potential statement for then-President Donald Trump to release during the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol was written by him during a meeting at the White House that afternoon, and not by White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

At Tuesday's Jan. 6 committee hearing, Rep. Liz Cheney displayed a handwritten note which Hutchinson testified she wrote after Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows handed her a note card and pen to take his dictation.

Sources familiar with the matter said that Herschmann had previously told the committee that he had penned the note. "All sources with direct knowledge and law enforcement have and will confirm that it was written by Mr. Herschmann," the spokesperson said. (Read more)

- Thank you, Lord, for exposing the lies and corruption in this particular committee. We ask You to continue to expose this committee for what it really is. We declare everything that is not upright, holy or true will be burned by your fire, in Jesus name.

- “And fire came out from the LORD and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.” (Numbers 16:35)

7. Hundreds of cancelled flights nationwide foreshadow potentially chaotic July 4 holiday - Just The News

Air travel chaos is looming ahead of the busy 4th of July weekend as hundreds upon hundreds of flights are being cancelled by major airlines throughout the country, leaving passengers stranded amid what has been months of chaos surrounding supply chains and industry logistics.

On Wednesday afternoon the website FlightAware showed 555 cancellations "within, into, or out of the United States" on Wednesday alone. The service listed a total of about 2,200 flight cancellations worldwide on Wednesday.

Those steep numbers come after around 800 flight cancellations on Monday of this week, with big-name airlines such as United and Delta axing dozens or hundreds of domestic flights amid staffing issues, supply chain crises and sky-high fuel prices. (Read more)

- Lord God we pray safety and protection over all those traveling this weekend. We pray, Lord, that no matter how chaotic peoples' lives may be with inflation, flight cancellations, family issues among many other things, that we would stop and take a moment to truly be thankful that we live in a free country with many rights and privileges others do not have and give You thanks for it all, In Jesus name amen.

“I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” Psalms 34:1

8. White House Promotes Website Advising Children About Hiding Abortions from Parents - Brietbart

“If you need information on your state’s laws or legal help, you may consider this website: AbortionFinder.org,” the Department of Health and Human Services advised in a published release to the press that was also promoted by the White House.

The website informs children 15 years old or younger that parental requirement laws demand that parents and guardians must be involved with the decision to have an abortion.

“If you need to avoid involving a parent or guardian, contact the If/When/How Judicial Bypass Helpline for information about getting a judicial bypass,” the website advises. (Read more)

- In the name of Jesus Christ we come against the spirit of division that the enemy is trying to create in the family circle: pinning children against their parents. We break that spirit NOW in the name of Jesus! Lord, we pray that the White House would use their power for good and to encourage family unity. We pray that they would teach one another how to talk about difficult situations instead of encouraging practices of deceit and blatant rebellion in their children, in Jesus name, amen.

 > > > Editor's note: this is the exact same model that was fomented by Mao Tse Tung during his cultural revolution. This evil strategy left parents helpless to discipline and to teach their children, leaving the youngsters instead to become followers of the Chinese Communist regime. THIS MUST STOP!

- “Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.” (Proverbs 17:6)

9. Israel to Cooperate With World Powers to Shape Possible Iran Nuclear Deal - JNS News

It would be proper to make clear that Israel does not oppose a nuclear deal in itself. It opposes a bad deal,” said Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz.

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Monday that Israel would work with world powers to shape any deal on Iran’s nuclear program.

“With the expected or possible resumption of the nuclear talks, we will continue to work together with the United States and other countries in order to make our position clear and influence the crafting of the deal—if there is such,” said Gantz, according to Reuters.

“It would be proper to make clear that Israel does not oppose a nuclear deal in itself. It opposes a bad deal,” he added.

Indirect talks on reviving the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran, the United States and several other world powers have stalled, but there are efforts underway to renew the negotiations. (Read more)

Abba, we pray that Israel will make NO CONCESSIONS, NO COMPROMISES to Iran. May they be STRONG, and put their own national security FIRST, to guard and protect the land and the people of Israel.

“Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

10. US Ramping Up Military Posture in Europe With Permanent Military Base in Poland - The Epoch Times

The United States will create a new permanent army headquarters in Poland and deploy additional land, air, and sea forces across the length and breadth of Europe in response to threats from Russia, President Joe Biden said on Wednesday.

“I’m announcing the United States will enhance our force posture in Europe and respond to the changed security environment, as well as strengthening our collective security,” he told reporters during a briefing joined by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Madrid, Spain.

“We’re going to continue to adjust our posture based on the threat, in close consultation with our Allies,” he added.

The Biden administration said that the United States will take several additional actions including some deployments already announced after the Russian invasion of Ukraine:

  • Establish a permanent headquarters for the U.S. Army Fifth Corps in Poland
  • Almost Double the number of U.S. Navy destroyers stationed in Spain’s Rota Naval Base. The number will reach four to six once this deployment is completed
  • Added 20,000 additional U.S. forces to Europe and brought the total U.S. military personnel in Europe to 100,000

Abba, we are dismayed that the War drums are beating and that things are ramping up. This is an escalation. It signals to Russia that we are preparing for war with them. We know that war may be coming to our own shores...please have mercy on our nation. In Yeshua's name, amen

- "Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar! My soul has dwelt too long With one who hates peace. I am for peace; But when I speak, they are for war."  (Psalm 120: 5-7)

Stupidocrisy: Fear Narrative

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, June 29, 2022

What happened to COVID? You don’t hear much about it these days. But did you know that COVID infections in America are more than 10 times higher than they were last year at this time? Did you know that deaths from COVID are almost 25% higher than they were last year at this time? It’s true. According to statistics kept by Johns Hopkins University, the seven-day average of US COVID cases as of June 27 were 121,255 compared with 11,839 last year, and the seven-day average of COVID deaths were 398 as of June 27 compared with 308 for the same period last year. While the mainstream news media and the Biden Administration have moved on, the devastation of COVID remains.

All those doctors and nurses who were demonized for saying that the COVID vaccine would only weaken immune systems and cause the disease to spread even more were apparently correct. A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine titled, “Effects of Previous Infection and Vaccination on Symptomatic Omicron Infections,” found “No discernable differences in protection against symptomatic BA.1 and BA.2 [Omicron] infection were seen with previous infection, vaccination, and hybrid immunity.” A Forbes analysis of countries with the highest vaccination rates indicated that per-capita COVID outbreaks are higher than the less vaccinated countries, causing experts to question the efficacy of vaccines. A UK study indicates that initial vaccine effectiveness of 45-75% rapidly declines after several weeks to 10% or less. Read More

Explosive, ‘truly biblical’ swarms of cannibalistic
insects ravage crops out West
They resemble fat grasshoppers and the extreme heat and drought conditions only increase their vast numbers, leaving ranchers and farmers to battle the insurgent mess.

On top of a worsening drought and rising temperatures, farmers across the Western third of the United States are battling outbreaks of cannibalistic insects that are ravaging crops from Nevada to Montana. Officials have spent millions of dollars over the past few years trying to control the explosive swarms of Mormon crickets that are responsible for destroying swatches of crops from Nevada to Montana.

Native to North America, Mormon crickets got their name in the 1800s when these giant insects ruined the fields of Mormon settlers. These insects are not true crickets; they are actually shield-backed, short-winged katydids that resemble fat grasshoppers that cannot fly, according to the University of Nevada, Reno's College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources.

In recent years, outbreaks across the West have only worsened, and the climate crisis might be partially to blame. The insect, which can grow up to 2 inches in length, favors hot conditions and drought, The Associated Press reported.

"Although there are local and regional exceptions, in general, the Western U.S. drought has intensified since the beginning of 2020," AccuWeather Meteorologist Dave Houk said. "Most of central Oregon is currently in an extreme drought." Read More

The Good News Corner
President Donald Trump:
Overturning Roe is an "Answer to the Prayers of Millions and Millions of People"
President Donald Trump told thousands of conservatives at a rally Saturday night in Illinois that the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade is “the answer to the prayers of millions and millions of people.” Here’s what the former president told the crowd: “So before we begin, we’ve got some very big news. Don’t we? We have very big news. Maybe the biggest, right from the United States Supreme Court. Yesterday the Court handed down a victory for the Constitution, a victory for the rule of law, and above all, a victory for life. This breakthrough is the answer to the prayers of millions and millions of people. And these prayers have gone on for decades and decades. They’ve been praying, and now those prayers have been answered. To the generations of Americans in the pro life movement, as well as countless constitutional conservatives, your boundless love, sacrifice, and devotion has finally been rewarded in full. Congratulations,” Trump said.

Trump recalled his promises to nominate conservative justices who didn’t make things up on the bench. “As the candidate in 2016, You remember that? — We did better the second time but let’s not say that. Did a lot better the second time we did a lot better in 2020 — I promised to nominate judges and justices who would stand up for the original meaning of the Constitution and who would honestly and faithfully interpret the law as written. We got almost 300 federal judges, and three great Supreme Court justices confirmed to do exactly that,” he said. “And thanks to the courage found within the United States Supreme Court, this long divisive issue will be decided by the states and by the American people,” Trump said. “That’s the way it should have been many, many, years ago and that’s the way it is now. So congratulations. We believe that every precious child born and unborn is the sacred gift from God,” Trump said. (Life News) Read more.

O I Want to See Him

Words and Music: Rufus Cornelius

Scripture:  When He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2

Lyrics:
As I journey thro’ the land,
Singing as I go,
Pointing souls to Calvary—
To the crimson flow,
Many arrows pierce my soul
From without, within;
But my Lord leads me on,
Thro’ Him I must win.

Refrain
O I want to see Him,
Look upon His face,
There to sing forever
Of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory
Let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last,
Ever to rejoice.

Refrain

When in service for my Lord
Dark may be the night,
But I’ll cling more close to Him,
He will give me light;
Satan’s snares may vex my soul,
Turn my tho’ts aside;
But my Lord goes ahead,
Leads whate’er betide.

Refrain

When in valleys low I look
Tow’rd the mountain height,
And behold my Savior there,
Leading in the fight,
With a tender hand outstretched
Tow’rd the valley low,
Guiding me, I can see,
As I onward go.

Refrain

When before me billows rise
From the mighty deep,
Then my Lord directs my bark;
He doth safely keep,
And He leads me gently on
Thro’ this world below;
He’s a real friend to me,
O I love Him so.

Refrain
