TODAY'S TOP STORY
SCOTUS Delivers Huge Win for Christian Schools

While many have been focused on the Supreme Court’s decision about abortion, the court just ruled in favor of parents seeking more school choice for their children in the case of Carson v. Makin. The case brought a national focus on the crucial question of religious freedom in the debate over school choice in the U.S.

In a  6-3 decision, the court ruled that religious schools cannot be kept from benefiting from state programs that offer aid for parents paying for private education, according to The Associated Press.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority ruling. (Western Journal) Read more.

- Oh HalleluJah!  We rejoice that this is a retaking of ground for our religious liberty that had been lost 40 years ago.  Thank You Jesus, for the stand taken by the Supreme Court defending our "First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion", especially on behalf of our children.  We bless the people who stood strong for our Constitution in this matter and the Supreme Court members who agreed to defend our liberties. We also pray for those who lack insight into the things of God, that they will come to repentance and find the truth of His Word.
Amen.

- "The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed."      (Psalm 101:6)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. Lapid, Gantz now control the fate of settlers in Israel's West Bank - Jerusalem Post

With such political friends, settlers don’t really need enemies.

Right-wing politicians pushed to bring down Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s government, warning it was a disaster for the West Bank settlements. But in doing so, they created a paradigm in which any scenario would harm Israeli residents of Judea and Samaria.

The government went into acute crisis mode over the Knesset’s failure earlier this month to pass legislation that would extend a directive granting residency rights to Israelis living in West Bank settlements. (Read more)

2. Bennett announces coalition’s demise, new elections: ‘We did our utmost to continue’ - Times of Israel

At a press conference Monday evening confirming they intend to dissolve parliament and call new elections, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid extolled their short-lived government and said all their actions, including the decision to bring the current coalition to an end, were taken for the good of the country.

The coalition had recently limped from crisis to crisis, and faced the real possibility of the opposition clinching a majority to bring it down. Instead, Bennett and Lapid decided to end things on their own terms, announcing they will initiate legislation next week to dissolve parliament and send Israel to its fifth general election in three-and-a-half years.

Bennett cited the coalition’s failure to pass legislation to renew the application of some Israeli law to West Bank settlers as the immediate catalyst. The opposition supports the measure, set to expire at the end of June, but has voted against it in order to further destabilize the government. (Read more)

3. New Hope chief vows: I'll never join government with Netanyahu - Israel National News

Israeli Justice Minister Gideon Sa’ar (New Hope) said Tuesday that under no circumstances would he join a government which includes Benjamin Netanyahu.

Speaking in an interview with KanTuesday morning, Sa’ar defended Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s decision Monday evening to dissolve the 24th Knesset and call for new elections.

Sa’ar said that over the past two weeks he had discussed the possibility of going to early elections with Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, arguing that given the government’s inability to extend the Judea and Samaria Law, there was no other choice. (Read more)

4. Opposition MKs hail collapse of Bennett government as Israeli ministers double down on ‘Never Netanyahu’ pledge - World Israel News

Opposition MKs celebrated the Israeli government’s announcement Monday that it would back snap elections and the dissolution of the 24th Knesset, even as center-right Coalition lawmakers doubled down on their staunch opposition to Benjamin Netanyahu returning to power.

On Monday night, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett called for the dissolution of the current Knesset, saying that calling new elections would be “the best decision to make for Israel.”

The collapse of the ruling coalition drew cheersfrom opposition Leader Benjamin Netanyahu – Bennett’s predecessor – who predicted that the Likud would quickly return to power. (Read more)

5. Senators advise not to lower rank of position to defuse tensions between Israel, PA - JNS

(June 20, 2022 / JNS) A bipartisan group of 34 senators advised the Biden administration on June 17 not to downgrade the level of the officer who serves as the U.S. security coordinator (USSC) for Israel and the Palestinian Authority after reports that the Jerusalem-based post will go from being held by a three-star general to a colonel, which is four ranks lower.

Led by Sens. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), the senators urged the administration to maintain the USSC position at its current rank in a letter to U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

They warned that a downgrade would undermine U.S. national security, as well as risk the peace and stability of Israel and the West Bank.

“Given continued regional volatility, steadfast high-level U.S. leadership and engagement to support peace and stability in Israel and the West Bank remain in the national security interest of the United States,” Ossoff said in a news release. “Downgrading this position would undermine critical security programs and degrade communications between Israelis and Palestinians, which the USSC facilitates. Such a downgrade would also risk fracturing the U.S.-led international coalition committed to strengthening security and stability in Israel and the West Bank.” (Read more)

1. Officers at Uvalde had rifles, ballistic shield — but still waited an hour to enter classroom - New York Post

Multiple police officers armed with rifles and a ballistic shield were inside Robb Elementary School 19 minutes after the gunman, according to new details — yet law enforcement still waited roughly an hour to breach the classroom where the shooter carried out his deadly rampage last month.

The new details were included in reports by the Austin American-Statesman and KVUE on Monday and mark the latest revelations in the botched police response to the May 24 mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 students and two teachers dead.

Surveillance footage from inside the school showed the armed officers standing inside a hallway at 11:52 a.m. after gunman Salvador Ramos broke into the school at 11:33 a.m. through an exterior door that had failed to automatically lock. (Read more)

Oh Lord God!, This is such gut-wrenching information.  We absolutely lift up to Your throne, the families in Uvalde who are trying to cope with the horrific slaughter that happened in their hometown.  Holy One, please hover close to everyone and help them find Your heart and healing.  We pray against bitter roots and revenge and cry out for justice to be served as appropriate and due, in Jesus name.

- "Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord Goes forth with fury, A continuing whirlwind; It will fall violently on the head of the wicked."  (Jeremiah 30:23)

2. Frank Luntz Dumps Cold Water On Dem Hopes Their Jan. 6 Theater Will Sway Voters - The Daily Caller

Pollster Frank Luntz told Fox News host Howard Kurtz Sunday that the hearings held by the Jan. 6 Select Committee were not swaying voters against former President Donald Trump.

“This has simply not risen to the importance the Democrats thought it would and it’s not doing the damage to the Republican Party that the Democrats thought it would,” Luntz told the “Media Buzz” host, adding that former President Donald Trump was being damaged by the hearings.

“You should have had counter-testimony, you should have had people challenging those witnesses,” Luntz said after Kurtz pointed out the one-sided nature of the hearings. “But the conclusion that some people have come to is that this is simply the third attempt to impeach Donald Trump.” (Read more)

- Father, we thank You for this awakening that is happening across America, even across party lines, where people anticipated seeing and hearing more than one side of this issue. May there be a full reckoning of the lies, deceptions, plots and plans having been and being executed upon the free citizens of this nation.  Let God arise and justice pour forth like a river.  In Jesus name.

- "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."  (Romans 12:2)

3. Migrants From India, South America Swarm Southern Border As 1 Agent Left To Process Influx - The Daily Caller

Large groups of migrants, including some from Asia, swarmed the southern border in Yuma waiting to be apprehended by agents amid a surge at the border, exclusive video footage obtained by the Daily Caller’s Jorge Ventura shows.

Large groups of migrants including women, children and even “single males from India” were seen lined up against the border wall in Yuma, Arizona at 2:45 a.m. Others migrants said they were from Cuba, Columbia, Peru and Venezuela.

Ventura reported that despite hundreds of migrants at the border, there was only “1 border patrol agent” available to begin processing. (Read more)

- Holy God, not one other country on this planet that would permit even one person to cross their border without permission, much less thousands upon thousands.  We ask You to stop the mouths who give permission and transfer the wealth away from those who pay for such journeys.  We do not wish the illegal migrants harm, but we cry out for protection for the vulnerable and abused and justice upon the traffickers and drug lords, in Jesus name.  We bless every person who works in Border Patrol.

- "'Thus says the Lord:  "Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor.  Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place."  (Jeremiah 22:3)

4. Twitter board announces recommendation on Elon Musk takeover bid - DML News

Twitter’s board has recommended unanimously that shareholders approve the proposed $44 billion sale of the company to billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, according to a regulatory filing Tuesday.

Musk reiterated his desire to move forward with the acquisition last week during a virtual meeting with Twitter employees, though shares of Twitter remain far below his offering price, signaling considerable doubt that it will happen.

Shares rose about 3% to $38.98 before the opening bell Tuesday, far short of the $54.20 per-share that Musk has offered for each share. The company’s stock last reached that level on April 5 when it offered Musk a seat on the board before he had offered to buy all of Twitter. (Read more)

- Father God, we put this whole situation at Your feet and ask You to have Your way.  We thank You that Elon Musk plans on free speech for the Twitter platform.  That would certainly be a welcome change in the land of social media..  We pray for his safety and that of his family and ask that they be delivered from any demonic spirits ruling around them so that he could serve You in the arena You have placed him, in Jesus name.

- "For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith."  (Romans 12:3)

5. Department of Justice to Spend $1 Million to Create Center for ‘Two-Spirit’ Youth - Brietbart

A listing on the OJJDP website explains that the center will “develop and disseminate resources (e.g., fact sheets, toolkits, online curriculums, webinars, training and guidance manuals, etc.)” and that the program will seek to provide “training and technical assistance to juvenile justice practitioners to assist them in meeting the needs of justice-involved LGBTQ+ and Two-Spirit youth.” It will also “inform justice systems policies, practices, and/or programs.”

The document explains that the federal government, specifically the Department of Justice, is offering a $1 million reward for a grant recipient who will assemble the National Resource Center for Justice-Involved LGBTQ+ and Two-Spirit Youth.

An LGBTQ Glossary published by John Hopkins University says that the term is used “to describe certain Native American and Canadian First Nation people who identify with a third gender, implying a masculine and a feminine spirit in one body.” (Read more)

- Loving Father, we pray for the people ensnared by these deceptions and ask that You would Father them with Your lovingkindness.  We take authority upon this overreach of government into the lives of people in this nation, no matter what or whom, in Jesus name.  We place this agenda under the authority of Jesus Christ and call for His ekklesia to reach hearts and minds and especially the spirits in the lost ones.  Holy Spirit, have Your way.

- "Then Jesus said to them, 'A little while longer the light is with you.  Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.'"  (John 12:35)

6. Backlash ensues as President Biden suggests inflation a 'chance' to make 'fundamental turn' to clean energy - Fox News

President Biden faced backlash after appearing to suggest that high gas prices will be a "good" opportunity to make a fundamental turn" to clean energy on Monday. Some conservatives called the president out on Twitter for the comments, as gas prices average $4.98 a gallon nationwide, according to AAA and inflation rose to a 40-year-high last month, sparking fears of an impending recession.

Conservative political operative Greg Price tweeted out the moment where the president defended his green energy policies to reporters while vacationing at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware.

"My dear mother used to have an expression: out of everything lousy, something good will happen if you look hard enough for it. We have a chance to make a fundamental turn toward renewable energy, electric vehicles, and not just electric vehicles but across the board," Biden told the crowd of reporters. (Read more)

- Righteous Judge, let us not be deceived by smooth words that drip with honey, but have no foundation in truth.  We ask that Joe Biden be compelled to take responsibility for his role in stopping the pipelines and strangling this nation from the very day he overtook the President's office.  Let us stand strong in speaking truth about fossil fuel-driven electricity and may we contend for justice in our government, in Jesus name.

- "'to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'"  (Acts 26:18)

7. Portland: Distressing pictures of addicts passed out all over city show how its Democrat-backed drug decriminalization program has backfired spectacularly - The Daily Mail

Portland's open-air drug market is laid bare as people smoke heroin on the streets and needles litter the sidewalks as city officials start homeless sweeps while a nearby city's mayoral candidate 'wants to round them up and use 'Japanese-style pods' to house them.

New photos taken by DailyMail.com show the current situation in Portland, a city that has been plagued with homelessness and addicts openly using drugs in broad daylight. Users were seen injecting themselves, slumping over in a semi-comatose state.

Discarded needles, human waste and the smell of urine adds another layer of tarnish to city's progressive policies - one of them being the Ballot Measure 110 decision, which has decriminalized hard drugs in the Democrat-run state.

Oregon was the first state in the United States to decriminalize possession of personal-use amounts of heroin, methamphetamine, LSD, oxycodone and other drugs after voters approved a ballot measure in 2020 to decriminalize hard drugs. But drug overdose deaths in the state also hit an all-time high in 2021 with 1069, a 41 percent increase from 2020, Fox News reported. (Read more)

- Lord God, this is situation is beyond words.  How have we come to this point?  Father, lead us and guide us to know how to pray over this unbearable tragedy being played out in many cities across this nation.  Who are these homeless people and how did they get to this point?  Why are they being enabled by the government?  Abba, only You have the answers and we beseech You to use us to change this evil situation for Your glory, in Jesus name.

- "'And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.' . . . 'And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.'"  (Matthew 24:10, 12)

8. Larry Summers says Americans will have to lose jobs to ease inflation - Fox Business

The U.S. unemployment rate must rise before Americans see any relief from inflation, economist and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers said Monday.

U.S. inflation is sitting at roughly 8.6% year-over-year, the highest point in 40 years, and shows no signs of slowing down. Summers argues the U.S. must sustain a jobless rate of more than 5% for five years if inflation is to drop.

"We need five years of unemployment above 5% to contain inflation – in other words, we need two years of 7.5% unemployment or five years of 6% unemployment or one year of 10% unemployment," Summers said in a London speech, according to Bloomberg. (Read more)

- God of All Glory, we thank You that You are on the throne and daily we commit the care of our nation into Your loving hands.  We reject the scare tactics of this government and we trust You to lead us through these coming challenges.  We pray for righteous leadership in every state to overrule these negative proposals, in Jesus name.

- "'It [the Kingdom of God] is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.'"  (Luke 13:19)

9. Under new law, Arizona students will learn history of communism - Just The News

Arizona students will graduate from high school with an education on the history of communism. Gov. Doug Ducey signed HB 2008, a bill previously attempted last session. Presented by State Rep. Quang Nguyen, R-Prescott and co-sponsor House Majority Leader Ben Toma, R-Peoria, the bill requires public school students to take a critical look at the faults of communism's past.

HB 2008, "Requires the high school social studies academic standards to include a comparative discussion of political ideologies that conflict with the principles of freedom and democracy that are essential to the United States' founding principles."

After a contentious vote in the state senate, the bill was passed 16-12. The bill stems from Nguyen's experience as a refugee from communist-run Vietnam. (Read more)

- Loving Father, we thank You for these two representatives who took a firm stand to pass this bill to teach the evils of communism in the face of freedom and liberty.  We recognize how important education is for framing the mindset of students.  This is a reasonable way to educate about a dangerous ideology; however, we pray for the curriculum to be uncorrupted by unscrupulous teachers, in Jesus name.

- . . . "For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.'"  (Luke 12:48b)

The Daily Jot

Stopping Stupid

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, June 21, 2022

The six-part Daily Jot series on the threats to freedom posed by the World Economic Forum caused a lot of people to ask “What should we do to stop this?” It became a topic of conversation in my church last Sunday. Quite frankly, stopping the WEF and its Democratic Party, corporate, media, and even religious unholy partnership will take each of us stepping out of our comfort zones. Christian conservatives really just want to mind their own business, live their lives in peace, and do not want to be bothered with things they consider stupid. And what we have right now in this country is a whole lot of stupid going on. To stop this stupid, we need to step up right where we are and start resisting stupid.

People looking how to stand against the tyranny of local, state and federal government need look no further than the courageous parents and teachers who engaged the Loudoun County, Va., school board for their anti-American, anti-student, and anti-education actions. Two Christian teachers stood before the school board and exposed these policies. One was fired. The other resigned. The brouhaha began over a policy trampling religious rights requiring teachers to use LGBTQ promoted pronouns and students using bathrooms of the sex they “identified with.” Then a young lady was raped by a boy in the girls’ restroom, the school board cover up and denial of it, the Biden Administration saying it would sic the FBI on dissenting parents for being domestic terrorists, and a former president saying it’s much ado about nothing. NASA rover spots human-made litter on Mars
The Perseverance Rover was on its way to a "bacon strip" on Mars when it spotted something that seemed out of place amid the rocky terrain on the Red Planet.

NASA's Perseverance Rover has been driving around the surface of Mars since landing on the planet on Feb. 18, 2021, and the latest geological wonder explored by the robotic pioneer is exciting for geologists and could cause cravings for breakfast food.

On Thursday, June 16, NASA said that the rover was driving over "the bacon strip," a nickname for a region that had piqued the interest of scientists.

The location was not inspired by the discovery of pigs on Mars, but rather the way the area resembles a strip of bacon when viewed from space.

Since arriving at the site, NASA scientists have started to call the area "Hogwallow Flats" and is a geological jackpot.

"The nearby rocks are a sight to behold," the Perseverance Rover's Twitter account said, adding that it is "paradise" for rock nerds.

The cheeky Twitter account quipped that "My team is happy as pigs in mud(stone)!"

On its journey to the Martian bacon strip, NASA scientists also noticed something that seemed out of place.

Nestled in the crevasse of a rock was a shiny object unlike anything else in the otherworldly landscape.

After a closer look, NASA determined that it was not a rock, but a piece of foil from Earth that was used during the ascent stage when Perseverance landed on Mars. Read More

The Good News Corner
South Dakota Now Abortion Free as Last Abortion Business Stops Killing Babies
South Dakota is now abortion free. The Plains state has become the second in the nation to not have any operating abortion centers as the last abortion business, run by Planned Parenthood in Sioux Falls, has stopped killing babies in abortions. South Dakota follows Oklahoma as the second abortion free state in America after its Governor Kevin Stitt signed a Texas-style bill banning abortions starting at conception with a private enforcement mechanism. Texas was the first state to ban abortions but its abortion ban starts when the heartbeat of the unborn baby is detectable, at approximately six weeks, so not all abortions are banned.

Although Roe v. Wade remains the law of the land, women can no longer get a legal abortion in two states, Oklahoma and South Dakota. In at least one other, Missouri, the only clinic is booked and not accepting new appointments. And in a fourth state, Wisconsin, clinics will not schedule abortions for after the end of the Supreme Court’s term in late June. The only clinic in South Dakota, Planned Parenthood in Sioux Falls, which also served patients from North Dakota and Minnesota, performed its last abortion Monday, even though the state has not yet banned it. Abortions at the clinic were already sporadic. A Minnesota doctor flew in around once a month to provide them. South Dakota also has a law in place that would ban abortions completely if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. (LifeNews) Read More here.

Classic Hymns

Come Thou Fount of Blessing

To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE

Words: Robert Robinson
Music: John Wyeth

Scripture: Samuel took a stone and…named it Ebenezer, saying Thus far has the Lord helped us. 1 Samuel 7:12

Lyrics:
Come, Thou fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.

Sorrowing I shall be in spirit,
Till released from flesh and sin,
Yet from what I do inherit,
Here Thy praises I’ll begin;
Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Here by Thy great help I’ve come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.

Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood;
How His kindness yet pursues me
Mortal tongue can never tell,
Clothed in flesh, till death shall loose me
I cannot proclaim it well.

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

O that day when freed from sinning,
I shall see Thy lovely face;
Clothèd then in blood washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away;
Send Thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless day.
