Root Cause of Baby Formula Shortage Found: COVID Lockdowns Led to 15,000 Skipped FDA Inspections
|
|
You remember during the lockdowns two years ago when only essential workers – like those at casinos and liquor stores – were allowed to go to work? Among those who stayed home were Food and Drug Administration food plant inspectors. As a result, that critical Abbot Nutrition baby formula plant in Michigan shut down in February for bacterial contamination and had no thorough FDA inspection for two years, the Associated Press reports. Worse, some pandemic-driven staff shortages meant officials missed 15,000 U.S. food plant inspections.
As nurses, doctors and utility, retail and transportation workers risked COVID in attempting to keep us healthy, warm and fed, shouldn’t food inspectors have been on the job? Baby formula plant workers were considered essential. Inspectors of their plants were not.
No wonder that after the lull in inspections, regulators found problems at the Abbot plant – sloppy sanitation procedures and standing water. But they only made suggestions about remedies; they did not even issue a formal warning. Five months later, inspectors returned to the Abbott plant after bacterial infections sickened four babies who consumed powdered formula made there. The plant had contamination and it voluntarily shut down.
Abbott denies its products were linked to the infections, which resulted in the deaths of two of the babies.

- Father, we bring the FDA before You and ask that You deal with them accordingly. We pray that there are more viable and flexible stewardship associations in each state to monitor facilities and guard against such contaminations and disruptions. We take authority over the supply chain problems and command order in the midst of chaos and confusion so that food is able to move across the country without hindrance, in Jesus name.

1. Likud said preparing to bring Knesset dispersal bill for preliminary vote this week - Times of Israel
The opposition’s Likud party may bring a bill to disperse the Knesset and force fresh elections to the plenum floor for a preliminary this week, according to a Saturday television report.
According to Channel 12 news, Benjamin Netanyahu’s party is preparing to bring such a bill for a vote on Wednesday, but the report said a decision would likely not be made until the last moment.
If successful in a preliminary vote, for which only a simple Knesset majority is required, the bill would need to pass three further Knesset votes with the support of at least 61 of the 120 MKs. (Read more)

2. Lapid to visit Turkey amid efforts to counter Iranian terror threat - Israel Hayom
Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will visit Turkey on Thursday as both countries continue to work together to thwart Iranian terror threats. The statement said that Lapid, during his trip on Thursday, would meet with Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, who last month visited Israel to encourage expanded economic cooperation
The announcement came just hours after President Isaac Herzog spoke on the phone with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, about ongoing attempts by Iranian agents to harm Israeli travelers in Turkey.
Herzog thanked Erdogan for his "efforts to thwart terrorist activities on Turkish soil." The two vowed to "continue to work toward peace and regional stability through continuous and open dialogue." (Read more)

4. Israeli teachers' strike continues, school to begin at 10:00 AM - Israel National News
Israeli public schools will begin late yet again, with studies starting at 10:00 a.m. Monday, rather than 8:00, as the Israel Teachers Union extended its partial strike.
The nationwide two-hour strike was called for Monday after union chief Yaffa Ben-David accused the Israeli government of ignoring the union’s demands.
“If Lapid, Bennett, and Liberman want to end this crisis, they can do it immediately,” Ben-David said Sunday night. “But apparently they enjoy watching millions of parents, who anyway are barely able to handle the high cost of living in this country, are now have to suffer with the lack of certainty in the educational system.” (Read more)

Moscow is preparing a resolution to formally condemn Israel at the United Nations Security Council over an airstrike in early June which saw Syria’s main international airport shuttereddue to heavy damage, according to a report from Hebrew language Kan Reshet Bet.
The resolution will criticize Israel for violating Syria’s sovereignty and a violation of international law.
Russia, an ally of embattled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has de facto control over Syria’s airspace, and has generally maintained a policy of looking the other way regarding Israeli air strikes on Iranian assets in the country. (Read more)

1. Putin lambasts US as acting like 'God's messenger,' claims world order is changing - Fox News
Russian President Vladimir Putin blasted the U.S. in speech from St. Petersburg Friday, accusing Washington of believing it is "God’s messenger" and warning that the world order is changing.
"After declaring victory in the Cold War, the United States proclaimed itself to be God’s messenger on Earth," Putin claimed. "They seem to ignore the fact that in the past decades, new powerful and increasingly assertive centers have been formed."
Putin’s speech, which was delayed for over an hour due to an alleged cyber-attack, focused almost solely on attacking the U.S. and its Western allies. (Read more)

2. China launches high-tech aircraft carrier in naval milestone- APnews
Beijing launched a new-generation aircraft carrier Friday, the first such ship to be both designed and built in China, in a milestone as it seeks to extend the range and power of its navy.
The Type 003 carrier christened Fujian left its drydock at a shipyard outside Shanghai in the morning and tied up at a nearby pier, state media reports said.
State broadcaster CCTV showed assembled navy personnel standing beneath the massive ship as water jets sprayed over its deck, multi-colored streamers flew and colorful smoke was released.
Equipped with the latest weaponry and aircraft-launch technology, the Type 003 ship’s capabilities are thought to rival those of Western carriers, as Beijing seeks to turn its navy, already the world’s largest, into a multi-carrier force. (Read more)

3. Iran said building vast new underground tunnels to hold nuclear enrichment facility - Times of Israel
Iran is constructing a vast new network of tunnels at its Natanz nuclear site that could house a massive enrichment facility that would be impervious to bunker-busting bombs and cyberattacks, the New York Times reported Thursday.
The report said that the US and Israel had been monitoring construction at the site for several months, but had refrained from commenting on it publicly, with the exception of a brief remark made last month by Defense Minister Benny Gantz.
“At this very time, Iran is making an effort to complete the production and installation of 1,000 advanced IR6 centrifuges at its nuclear facilities, including a new facility being built at an underground site near Natanz,” he said, speaking at a conference at Herzliya’s Reichman University. 4. 'The Leash Is Off': Abortion Activists Behind Attacks On Pro-Lifers Issue New Threats - Daily Caller
A statement that appears to be from the violent pro-abortion group Jane’s Revenge was posted online Tuesday, saying “the leash is off” for attacks on pro-life operations and declaring violence until pro-life groups shut down.
The statement was posted to Abolition Media, an “online news source for revolutionary movements,” and promised violent attacks on pro-life organizations such as crisis pregnancy centers.
“We promised to take increasingly drastic measures against oppressive infrastructures,” the statement said. “Rest assured that we will, and those measures may not come in the form of something so easily cleaned up as fire and graffiti. Sometimes you will see what we do, and you will know that it is us. Sometimes you will think you merely are unlucky, because you cannot see the ways which we interfere in your affairs.”
Jane’s Revenge appeared to take credit for a Molotov cocktail attack on the offices of Wisconsin Family Action in May. Numerous other pregnancy centers have been attacked, including the Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center which was recently vandalized in June with “Jane says revenge” spray-painted on the building.
“Our recourse now is to defend ourselves and to build robust, caring communities of mutual aid, so that we may heal ourselves without the need of the medical industry or any other intermediary,” the statement reads. “Through attacking, we find joy, courage, and strip the veneer of impenetrability held by these violent institutions.” (Read more)

5. DOJ urged to act after Jane's Revenge declares 'open season' on pro-life organizations - Christian Post
Pro-life leaders and lawmakers are calling on the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate the wave of firebombings and vandalism targeting churches and pro-life pregnancy centers as a radical abortion activist group declared "open season" on pro-lifers.
Jane's Revenge, which has claimed responsibility for multiple recent acts of vandalism and arson, has published another communique that threatens the safety of pro-life activists and pregnancy centers.
The group had previously called for the "disbanding of anti-choice establishments, fake clinics, and violent anti-choice groups within the next thirty days" in a manifesto published last month.
"Your thirty days expired yesterday," Jane's Revenge stated in the communique published on the anarchist website Abolition Media Tuesday. "We offered an honourable way out. You could have walked away. Now the leash is off. And we will make it as hard as possible for your campaign of oppression to continue."
The group recalled "how easy and fun it is to attack," listing off all the acts of vandalism it has claimed responsibility for in the past month, which includes Madison, Wisconsin; Fort Collins, Colorado; Reisertown, Massachusetts; Olympia, Washington; Lynwood, Washington; Asheville, North Carolina; Buffalo, New York; Frederick, Maryland; Denton, Texas and Portland, Oregon. - We pray the DOJ takes swift action against these attacks, and justice served on those who are claiming responsibility for vandalism and arson. Protect the pro-life clinics.

6. Major U.S. city's plan to spy on citizens draws fierce opposition - WND
Plans by the city of Houston to require businesses to install surveillance cameras – and then give police access – has drawn a warning letter from a second civil-rights organization. WND reported in May when the Institute for Justice warned city officials the spy plans were unrealistic and illegal, because they would be in violation of the 4th Amendment.
Now the Rutherford Institute is raising related concerns. The civil and religious rights organization said the city's "Exterior Security Cameras Ordinance" is nothing more than a "thinly veiled attempt to evade oversight and accountability for Fourth Amendment violations."
The city is requiring that police be given access to the round-the-clock surveillance network whenever they ask.
However, lawyers for Rutherford warn that the scheme likely would not meet legal requirements. "By placing the burden of round-the-clock, citywide surveillance on private businesses, the city of Houston is clearly attempting an end-run around the Fourth Amendment’s warrant requirement as it relates to surveillance by government officials," explained constitutional attorney John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute. (Read more)

7. Higher gas prices ahead – and the White House knows it - WND
If you think gas prices are high now, just wait. They're going to get much higher, thanks to President Joe Biden's "irreversible" plan to eliminate fossil fuels. Truth is, your pain at the pump is being planned and executed by the White House.
Over the weekend, buyers paid $5 a gallon to fill the tank – or roughly $100.
Gas prices have doubled since Biden took office. J.P. Morgan analysts predict $6 a gallon by August. And experts warn this crisis will continue even after Biden's term ends because he's dismantling fossil fuel production.
When Biden was running for president, he promised to shut down oil producers: "No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period." He pledged to put the country on "an irreversible" path toward "doing away with" fossil fuels."
On Day 1 as president, Biden shut down the Keystone Pipeline, sending a message of no new pipelines anywhere, period.
In the months that followed, he stopped all sales of leases to drill on federal lands or offshore, meaning zero new leases allowing oil to be brought out of the ground.
And in September, House Democrats introduced legislation to stop banks from lending money or investing capital for new or expanded fossil fuel production. That legislation hasn't passed, but it sent a clear message. The oil industry is being shut down. (Read more)
- We pray for a drastic change in leadership to change the direction of our economy. Foil the plans of this administration which are putting hardships on the people they are supposed to serve.
- "He thwarts the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success." (Job 5:12)

8. Trump Takes Down His 1st Impeachment Betrayer on Big GOP Primary Night - Western Journal
A South Carolina Republican who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump over the Jan. 6 Capitol incursion paid the price on Tuesday night.
According to The New York Times, Rep. Tom Rice lost in the Republican primary to state Rep. Russell Fry. Rice is the fifth of the 10 Republicans who voted to impeach Trump who will lose their seat — as four others have chosen to retire.
With 95 percent reported as of Wednesday, Fry had received 51.1 percent of the vote. Rice, meanwhile, only garnered 24.5 percent.
Rice was steadfast in defending his impeachment vote throughout the campaign. The week before the primary election, he said he would make the same vote again.
“Defend the Constitution — that’s what I did,” Rice said, according to MSNBC executive producer Kyle Griffin. “That was the conservative vote … I was livid. I am livid today about it. I took an oath to protect the Constitution. I did it then, and I would do it again tomorrow.” (Read more)
- We pray for an upset in these elections that those who need to be replaced will be replaced with those who serve honestly and with wisdom and integrity.
- "It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, the LORD your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." (Deuteronomy 9:5)

9. Major study: U.S. COVID lockdowns caused at least 170,000 to die - WND
The lockdowns in response to the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to a massive spike in excess deaths in the United States, with a 26% rise in excess deaths among working-age adults.
That figure is significant, because the vast majority of COVID deaths was among elderly people who had more than two chronic illnesses, or comorbidities, suggesting a cause other than COVID-19 itself.
The excess mortality rate for all people over 65 was 18%, according to the study by the National Bureau of Economic Research. The researchers, Summit News reported, found that while COVID deaths "overwhelmingly afflict senior citizens, absolute numbers of non-Covid excess deaths are similar for each of the 18-44, 45-64, and over-65 age groups."
Conservatively, there were more than 170,000 non-COVID excess deaths in the U.S. through 2020 and 2021, the researchers concluded. But they believe the actual number is closer to 200,000, taking into account as estimated 72,000 "unmeasured Covid deaths." (Read more)
- Father, the more that time moves forward, the more facts are revealed about this
horrible pandemic. In the meantime, as Your children, we are commanded to forgive our enemies, so that is what we will do now. We ask, too, that You would continue to comfort the hearts of those who have lost loved ones in this tragedy, amen.
- "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34)

Josep Borrell accuses Moscow of ‘weaponizing’ grain shipments from Ukraine and using them to ‘blackmail’ anyone that ‘opposes its aggression’
|
|
BRUSSELS, Belgium — Russia is putting the world at risk of famine through its blockade of Ukraine’s shipments of grains and restrictions on its own exports, EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said Saturday.
The threat to food security and a “battle of narrative” with Russia on Western-imposed sanctions on Moscow over Ukraine will dominate European Union foreign ministers’ talks in Luxembourg on Monday.
“We are ready to work with the UN and our partners to prevent any unwanted impact on global food security,” Borrell said in an article published on his official blog.
“Russia’s conscious political choice is to weaponize grain exports and use them as a tool for blackmail against anyone that opposes its aggression in Ukraine,” Borrell said.
“Russia turned the Black Sea into a war zone, blocking shipments of grain and fertilizer from Ukraine but also affecting Russian merchant shipping. Russia is also applying quotas and taxes on its grain exports,” he added.
The sanctions imposed by the EU “do not prohibit Russia to export any agricultural goods, payment for such Russian exports or the provision of seeds, provided that sanctioned individuals or entities are not involved.”
“We are fully aware that there is a ‘battle of narratives’ around this issue” of sanctions, Borrell continued.
He added that it was imperative that Ukrainian exports be allowed to resume by ship.
“We are working closely with the UN on this issue and the EU and its member states are ready to do their part of the necessary actions to achieve this.
“We hope that a solution can be found in the coming days. Not doing this threatens to cause a global food catastrophe,” he warned. (Times of Israel) Read more here.

|
- Holy One, we pray and ask for Your divine intervention in these hostilities. Father, would You deal with Russia and protect the grain shipments so they can be pushed forward into the marketplace. We pray for cooler and calmer circumstances within which everyone can negotiate to find a solution to the obstructions being put forward by Russia and a peaceable resolution to this precarious trouble.
- "Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility, It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the Lord's anger." (Zephaniah 2:3)

Who’s Who in Davos? It’s Time to Name Names
|
|
|
Do you know where your legislators were when the elites of Davos were meeting from May 22-26, 2022? Were they on American soil fighting for your freedom, or were they in lockstep with the globalists of the World Economic Forum? Former U.S. representative and presidential candidate Michele Bachmann wants you to know not only who was there, but what was said. . . .Bachman stresses the importance of knowing exactly what went on at this event because the biggest goal is “to put the world on a plane to world government.”
Ahead of the annual meeting, World Economic Forum founder and chairman Klaus Schwab spoke to journalists about the intentions of the WEF and its partners.
“The return of war, epidemics and the climate crisis, all those disruptive forces have derailed the global recovery…Those issues must be confronted in Davos, and the global food crisis in particular needs our immediate attention…In a world which is becoming more fragmented, more divided, and where many of the traditional multilateral organizations tend to become dysfunctional, or at least mistrustful, a global platform based on informal, trust-faced and action-oriented co-operation will be ever more relevant, more important than before.”
Schwab also offered words of warning by saying:
“The atmosphere in which Davos takes place will be welcoming. But it is also of utmost seriousness…So, there’s no place for the frivolous fringe that seeks to distract and divert attention…And I condemn it wholeheartedly, particularly of those who have nothing to do with the World Economic Forum community, and just come to Davos to hijack our brand.”
Bachmann stressed that at this point in the game, many of us have figured out the devious, grand plan of Klaus and his team of stakeholders. It’s one that includes a future which lacks freedom of speech, religion, and basic individual rights. It’s a dystopia where capitalism, property ownership, and the freedom to make health decisions disappears faster than you can say tyranny. (Intercessors for America) Read more here.

- Lord Jesus, you have blessed our nation with a divinely inspired Constitution which our leaders are called to uphold. Please empower them to stand against the tide of tyranny that stems from self-appointed globalists who rebel against God’s authority.

and make the righteous secure—

State Strikes a Major Blow Against 6 Wall Street Giants Over 'Unfair Discrimination' Against Coal and Gas Industries
|
|
|
If woke corporations are going to treat the industry that fuels the lives of Americans with a cold shoulder, they’ll get the same treatment from West Virginia taxpayers.
Six Wall Street firms are slated to land on West Virginia’s Restricted Financial Institution List, with state treasurer Riley Moore notifying them in a Friday letter. The companies are BlackRock, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and U.S. Bancorp, according to Politico.
Moore used a law that was passed in the spring that he said is designated to “push back against unfair discrimination against our coal, oil and natural gas industries by the financial sector.”
The companies have adopted policies that either divest or minimize their investments in the fossil fuels industry.
Some major corporations have justified a fossil fuel boycott by pointing to the leftist environmental, social and governance ideology, which seeks to crush the industry through backhanded corporate means.
They’ll be ineligible for state contracts pursuant to a 2022 state law, according to the Parkersburg News & Sentinel, unless they can demonstrate that they’re not boycotting the fossil fuel industry within 30 days. (Western Journal) Read more here.

|
- Father God, we offer You praise for this news. We rejoice that the State of West Virginia has found a way to fight back against the tyranny that these companies are wielding against our right to use the fossil fuels that You have so graciously placed upon our land.
We come against all forms of backlash and/or retaliation against the state of West Virginia for the courageous move they have taken, and we ask that Your hand of protection would rest upon State Treasurer Riley Moore and his household, in Your name. Amen.
- We pray these woke corporations will reverse course under the pressure to change their position on fossil fuels. We pray they will feel the pressure in a big way financially. We pray, too, against all forms of backlash against State Treasurer Riley Moore, who has enforced this ruling, as well as his family and his staff
members.
- "The LORD detests dishonest scales, but accurate weights find favor with him." (Proverbs 11:1)

Here is the Updated List of US-Based Food Manufacturing Plants Destroyed Under Biden Administration
|
|
|
As the Gateway Pundit previously reported, at least 18 major fires have erupted at food industry facilities and plants over the past six months. All of the fires have been officially listed as accidental or inconclusive.
Now this… A Gateway Pundit reader sent us an updated list of US-based food manufacturing plants that were damaged from 2021 to 2022 under the Biden administration. These data were first published at Think Americana.
Below is the list of America’s 99 plants that have been destroyed, damaged or impacted by “accidental fires,” disease, or general causes. (Read this list by going here)

Prayer - Abba, we ask that you would put a hedge of protection around every food processing plant in this nation! We ask that you would dispatch warrior angels to guard and protect this plants. And, we ask that this plot and scheme to destroy our food production would be EXPOSED and REVEALED and put to a HALT. May the perpetrators be held accountable for their actions, in Yeshua's name, amen!

At least 2,000 cattle deaths blamed on triple-digit temperatures
|
|
A heat wave that gripped a large swath of the country brought discomfort for many, including the cattle in one U.S. state, where thousands died because of heat stress earlier this week.
Rows of cow carcasses can be seen lining the edge of a farm field in Kansas in at least one video being shared on social media.
State officials in Kansas are blaming a heat wave and its abrupt onset for the deaths of thousands of cattle earlier this week. The scorching heat challenged records across the nation's midsection and produced temperatures well above 100 degrees Fahrenheit in many locations. The AccuWeather RealFeel® temperature was 102 degrees Thursday afternoon in southwest Kansas. And this week, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Cattle Heat Index reached into the "emergency" range in Kansas, the top of the scale.
But the severe heat started spiking last week, hitting the triple-digit mark.
“And it was that sudden change that didn’t allow the cattle to acclimate that caused the heat stress issues in them,” said Scarlett Hagins, spokesperson for the Kansas Livestock Association.
Cattle are most prone to "heat stress" when the heat index reaches 75 degrees and above for a 72-hour period; climbs to over 79 degrees in a 48-hour period during the day and over 75 degrees at night, or when the daytime heat index reaches 84 degrees for two consecutive days. Read More

Former LGBT Individuals Celebrate Deliverance Through Christ During DC Freedom March: 'There Is Hope'
|
|
A group of ex-LGBT Christians rallied in our nation's capital recently to share their testimonies of how they've found healing and freedom in Jesus Christ. As CBN News has reported, members of the Freedom March group have been touring the country for years, sharing the Good News with others, and offering hope to anyone else who might be seeking salvation from LGBT lifestyles. This year's event, which took place on Saturday, included live worship, testimonies, prayer, and a march from the Sylvan Theater to the Lincoln Memorial.
The Freedom March was started in 2018 by Jeffrey McCall, a former transgender who has come to know Christ and His unfailing love. "Jesus died for them and loves them and wants to give them a new life," McCall told CBN News in his ongoing quest to offer hope to LGBTQ individuals. The movement concentrates on liberation from LGBT lifestyles, as well as learning how to begin a relationship with our Lord and Savior.
Worshippers and speakers at the events acknowledge that God loves everyone, but that we must accept Him into our hearts before our lives can change. "The reason I started the Freedom March was because I felt like all of these stories of people that left the LGBT lifestyle needed to be heard. It sends a statement and gets these stories out there," McCall previously told CBN News.
Some Freedom March participants have even shared stories about their tragic past before leaving the LGBT lifestyle and coming to Christ. "I really want to send the message to the LGBTQ community that there is hope. To say, 'Hey, we were in the same lifestyle you were in and we came out of that and followed Christ and there's a whole 'nother life. A life that we didn't even know was possible. A life with joy, and peace, and freedom,'" he said. (CBN) Read More Here

All nature sings, and round me rings
The music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world:
I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
His hand the wonders wrought.
This is my Father’s world,
The birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white,
Declare their maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world:
He shines in all that’s fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass;
He speaks to me everywhere.
This is my Father’s world.
O let me ne’er forget
That though the wrong
Seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world:
The battle is not done:
Jesus who died shall be satisfied,
And earth and Heav’n be one.
This is my Father’s world,
Dreaming, I see His face.
I open my eyes, and in glad surprise
Cry, The Lord is in this place.
This is my Father’s world,
From the shining courts above,
The Beloved One, His Only Son,
Came—a pledge of deathless love.
This is my Father’s world,
Should my heart be ever sad?
The lord is King—let the heavens ring.
God reigns—let the earth be glad.
This is my Father’s world.
Now closer to Heaven bound,
For dear to God is the earth Christ trod.
No place but is holy ground.
This is my Father’s world.
I walk a desert lone.
In a bush ablaze to my wondering gaze
God makes His glory known.
This is my Father’s world,
A wanderer I may roam;
Whate’er my lot, it matters not,
My heart is still at home.
