Former Top DOJ Official Spots Something on Page 3 of Trump Indictment That Could Be 'Grounds for Granting a Motion' to Dismiss

Jeffrey Clark, who was an assistant attorney general in the Trump administration, said Friday the Justice Department’s indictment of former President Donald Trump contains grounds for a “dismissal.”
Trump announced on social media Thursday night that he had been informed he had been indicted in special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into his handling of classified documents.
On Friday, the full 49-page indictment was unsealed. Trump will be charged with 37 felonies in total. Thirty-one of the charges will be for alleged violations of the Espionage Act regarding a “willful retention” of classified documents.
The former president and leading GOP presidential contender in 2024 has maintained his innocence and will fight the case. The indictment is the culmination of the FBI raid on Trump’s private Mar-a-Lago club and residence in Florida on Aug. 8.
It claims he showed classified documents to multiple people without security clearances on two separate occasions in 2021. The Justice Department said both alleged instances occurred at Trump’s club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
One of those alleged instances was leaked to the media this month. Clark took to Twitter on Friday afternoon and said the leak to the media is grounds for Trump to have the case dismissed.
“Ergo, the leaks are coming from DOJ,” he said. “They must be investigated and punished.
The former DOJ official concluded, “All of this is so outrageous; it shocks the conscience. It’s fundamentally anti-American.” (The Western Journal) Read more here.

How Republicans and Democrats Reacted to Trump DOJ Indictment

|
Congressional lawmakers are reacting to news that the Department of Justice (DOJ) will indict President Donald Trump over alleged mishandling of classified documents.
Lawmaker reactions to the news are splitting largely along party lines, with Republicans describing it as a “witch hunt” that poses a “profound danger” to American political norms, while Democrats say it shows that “nobody is above the law.”
“It is unconscionable for a President to indict the leading candidate opposing him. Joe Biden kept classified documents for decades,” wrote House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Twitter.
“I, and every American who believes in the rule of law, stand with President Trump against this grave injustice. House Republicans will hold this brazen weaponization of power accountable.”
“WITCH HUNT,” the House Judiciary Committee, which has been investigating allegations of political weaponization under President Joe Biden’s administration, wrote on Twitter.
Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) called it a “sad day for America. God Bless President Trump.”
Democrats, on the other hand, suggested that the indictment shows that the American justice system is working.
Reps. Gerry Connelly (D-Va.), Dwight Evans (D-Pa.), and Adriana Espaillat (D-N.Y.) repeated a common Democrat refrain on matters related to Trump, saying that “no one is above the law.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Government Needs to Tell Americans What It’s Doing With UFOs: Rep. Tim Burchett
|
|
Congress needs to take conversations about UFOs seriously and provide Americans with greater transparency regarding what the Pentagon is hiding in the name of national security, said Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.).
“It turns out we’ve been spending money researching it for years,” Burchett said in an interview for EpochTV’s “Crossroads” program ahead of an anticipated House Oversight Committee hearing on UFOs, formally referred to as unidentified anomalous phenomena or UAPs.
The hearing is prompted by a government whistleblower’s extraordinary claims that the U.S. government had obtained not only “intact and partially intact vehicles of non-human origin,” but also their occupants’ bodies. The whistleblower, David Charles Grusch, told science website The Debrief that there is a decades-long, ongoing competition with other countries to “identify crashes/landings and retrieve the material for exploitation/reverse engineering.”
Grusch, a 36-year-old combat air veteran of Afghanistan, was also part of the UAP Task Force, a program run by the Office of Naval Intelligence to investigate UFO sightings. From 2019 to 2021, he served on the task force as the representative of the National Reconnaissance Office, one of the “Big Five” U.S. Intelligence agencies, which is in charge of designing and operating spy satellites.
In a later interview with NewsNation, Grusch even claimed that the government has found dead alien bodies from crashed spacecraft. “Naturally, when you recover something that’s either landed or crashed, sometimes you encounter dead pilots,” he said. “And believe it or not, as fantastical as that sounds, it’s true.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

1. Abbas to visit China after offer to help revive peace talks with Israel - Jerusalem Post
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who is expected to arrive in Beijing on Tuesday for a three-day visit, will be the first Arab leader to be hosted by China this year.
The visit is seen as a sign of China’s ongoing effort to increase its influence in the Middle East at a time when the US has refocused its attention on the Indo-Pacific region and Ukraine. It’s further seen as a sign of strengthened relations between the Palestinians and China, which has long been critical of Israeli policies and measures.
Abbas’s visit to China comes shortly after Beijing helped broker the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran. It also comes in the aftermath of China’s offer to help Israel and the Palestinians resume peace negotiations, which have been stalled since 2014. (Read more)

2. Overruling objections, PM says Shin Bet must join fight against deadly Arab mob crime - Times of Israel
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday doubled down on his call to involve the Shin Bet in the fight against the wave of violent crime in the Arab community, despite reported objections from the security service’s chief and the attorney general.
At the conclusion of a meeting with top police and Shin Bet officials, Netanyahu’s office said he instructed authorities to prepare for the security agency to become involved — overruling the opposing voices.
In addition, National Security Adviser Tzachi Hanegbi was tasked with presenting recommendations to tackle the issue next week. (Read more)

3. Israeli Security Officials Travel to Cairo, Following Up on Recent Border Attack - Algemeiner
i24 News – A delegation of senior Israel Defense Forces (IDF) generals traveled Sunday to Cairo, following a terrorist attack on the Israel-Egypt border that killed three Israeli soldiers.
Commander of the Southern Region Major General Eliezer Toldano, head of the International Relations Brigade Brigadier General Avi Deverin, and head of the Operational Brigade in the Intelligence Division, Brigadier General G., were the senior team sent to Cairo, as part of a joint investigation with officials in the Egyptian army.
Both countries started investigating the incident on the day it happened, with delegations of senior officials from the Egyptian army arriving at the scene, as well as their Israeli counterparts. Both sides expressed their commitment to an in-depth investigation and arriving at the truth. (Read more)

4. Israel to use atomic clock to secure its national infrastructure - World Israel News
To enhance the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure, Israel’s national clock, located in the National Physics Laboratory, was connected to the “time distribution” system of the national digital system on Sunday.
Based in Jerusalem, the National Physics Laboratory upholds national standards for measuring time, mass and pressure, as well as electrical capacity. This includes four cesium-type atomic clocks measuring time and frequency for security and civilian purposes such as television broadcasts, telephone calls, computers, navigation devices and military systems
The clocks were synchronized and connected with the National Digital Array, a government body which promotes digital advances in the public sector. (Read more)

5. 'Iran knows breakout to 90% enrichment will result in an Israeli strike' - Israel Hayom
Amid reports of renewed momentum in talks between Iran and the West over a nuclear deal, Israel sent a warning to Iran on Sunday.
A senior Israeli official to Israel Hayom that "Iran knows that breaking out to 90% purity in uranium enrichment will result in an Israeli strike." The official added that the US and Western nations know that Israel has set this threshold and that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear this was Jerusalem's red line during his recent visits to European capitals.
The source further assessed that despite the US trying hard to finalize an agreement with Iran, it will not be realized because Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei does not want such an outcome, even though on Sunday the Iranian ayatollah delivered a speech in favor of reaching a deal that would allow Iran to keep its nuclear infrastructure. 1. Elon Musk Issues Warning About Justice System After Trump Indictment - The Epoch Times
Elon Musk issued a warning to the Department of Justice (DOJ) after former President Donald Trump was indicted on multiple federal charges on Thursday.
“There does seem to be far higher interest in pursuing Trump compared to other people in politics,” Musk wrote in a Twitter post on Thursday night, responding to a comment made by a prominent user on the platform. “Very important that the justice system rebut what appears to be differential enforcement or they will lose public trust.”
“We are just not going to comment on this case,” White House principal deputy press secretary Olivia Dalton told reporters Friday on Air Force One, “and I’d refer you to the DOJ, which runs its criminal investigations independently.”
She added: “This is a president who respects the rule of law and has said that since day one. That’s precisely why we’re not commenting here. He believes in respecting the independence of the DOJ and protecting the integrity of their processes.”
Dalton said Biden and his staff “found out just like everybody else last night” that Trump was indicted from news reports and that the White House had “no advanced knowledge that this was coming.” (Read more)

2. US Border Agents ‘Providing Care, Welfare Services’ to Illegal Immigrants: Official - The Epoch Times
The Biden administration’s agents working along the U.S.–Mexico border are primarily providing illegal immigrants with “care and welfare” services, according to a senior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official.
DHS Inspector General Joseph Cuffari made the claims during a hearing before a House Oversight subcommittee on June 6 to discuss the ongoing law enforcement staffing challenges relating to the southern border.
During the hearing, Cuffari cited a report (pdf) published in May detailing how Border Patrol agents were suffering from low morale owing to widespread staffing shortages and improper management of resources and planning during a surge in immigrant crossings.
The report also noted issues with recruitment and hiring. These issues combined, according to the report, had led to many officers having to take on responsibilities outside their typical roles, which has affected their own operations.
“It’s concerning that agents are not performing their primary law enforcement roles,” Rep. Clay Higgins (R-La.) said in response to the report’s findings during the hearing. (Read more)

3. Indictment says Trump took nuclear docs and revealed a Pentagon attack plan - Times of Israel
The indictment paints an unmistakably damning portrait of Trump’s treatment of sensitive information, accusing him of willfully defying Justice Department demands to return documents he had taken from the White House to Mar-a-Lago, enlisting aides in his efforts to hide the records and even telling his lawyers that we wanted to defy a subpoena for the materials stored in his estate.
“I don’t want anybody looking through my boxes,” one of Trump’s lawyers described the former president saying, according to the indictment. He also asked if it would be better “if we just told them we don’t have anything here,” the indictment says.
Noting the “tens of thousands of members and guests” who visited the “active social club” of Mar-a-Lago between the end of Trump’s presidency in January 2021 through the August 2022 search, prosecutors argued that Trump had “nevertheless” stored the documents there, “including in a ballroom, a bathroom and shower, and office space, his bedroom and a storage room.” (Read more here)

4. US: Iran helping Russia build a drone factory east of Moscow for Ukraine war - Times of Israel
Iran is providing Russia with materials to build a drone manufacturing plant east of Moscow as the Kremlin looks to lock in a steady supply of weaponry for its ongoing invasion of Ukraine, according to a US intelligence finding released by the White House on Friday.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that US intelligence officials believe a plant in Russia’s Alabuga special economic zone could be operational early next year. The White House also released satellite imagery taken in April of the industrial location, several hundred miles east of Moscow, where it believes the plant “will probably be built.”
US President Joe Biden’s administration publicly stated in December that it believed Tehran and Moscow were considering standing up a drone assembly line in Russia for the Ukraine war. The new intelligence suggests that the project, in the Yelabuga region of Tatarstan, has moved beyond conception.
Kirby said that US officials also have determined that Iran continues to supply the Russian military with one-way attack drones made in Iran: The drones are shipped via the Caspian Sea, from Amirabad in Iran to Makhachkala, Russia, and then are used by Russian forces against Ukraine. (Read more)

5. The SPLC IS a hate group, not patriotic parents - Center for Security Policy
The thoroughly discredited Southern Poverty Law Center just added two new organizations to its list of so-called “hate groups”: “Moms for Liberty” and “Parents Defending Education.”
I can attest from hard personal experience that such defamations by the SPLC say vastly more about their perpetrator than its targets.
At a minimum, these are acts of political warfare aimed at neutralizing patriotic Americans simply because they are effective opponents of the truly hateful agenda of the radical Left. Henceforth, every Marxist masquerading as a journalist can repeat the unfounded smear to suppress those they cannot otherwise defeat.
Worst case, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s hate-mongering actually does what it falsely accuses others of doing – namely, encouraging violence.
From now on, anyone favorably citing the SPLC should be deemed complicit in and held accountable for its predictable, if not actually intended, consequences. (Read more)

6. Kevin McCarthy After Trump Indictment: GOP Has ‘Not Been Sitting Back’ - Breitbart
It is “unconscionable” that the Biden administration is indicting the leading Republican candidate for president, particularly when President Joe Biden and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton have not been held accountable, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told Breitbart News Saturday, assuring that Republicans in the House “have not been sitting back.”
McCarthy deemed the indictment a “dark, dark day,” expressing that it is “unconscionable that the present administration would go indict the leading candidate coming up to the election against you.”
McCarthy said the accusation is particularly ironic, given the fact that Biden has classified documents from not only when he was vice president but senator — the latter of which is particularly problematic.
“A president, vice presidents [are] different when they receive their documents. He [Biden] had documents that old when he was a senator. And that’s not just all of it,” he said, laying into Hillary Clinton’s infamous email scandal as well. (Read more and listen here.)

7. Josh Hawley on Trump Indictment: ‘We Don’t Have a Republic Anymore’ If You Can Jail Political Opponents - Breitbart
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) weighed in on Donald Trump’s indictment, saying at the Western Conservative Summit on Friday, “We don’t have a republic anymore” if you can jail your political opponents.
Hawley spoke at the summit, hosted by the Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University, weighing in on the left’s increasing politicization of the federal government.
He said that America is in a moment of great “danger,” contending that the decisions made in the next four to six years will determine the fate of the country for the next 50 to 60 years — or if America will even remain a country 50 or 60 years from now.
“It is a moment of danger” because the left is “assaulting the very foundations of our nation,” Hawley contended. (Read more)

Republicans “have not stopped” and “will not stop” investigating Biden family corruption, even as federal bureaucracies try to stand in the way, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday, walking through the recent document, which points directly to Biden family corruption.
McCarthy walked through the latest revelations of Biden family corruption, which were largely overshadowed this week by the Biden administration opting to indict former President Donald Trump.
“We were told by whistleblower that they said there was a document where an individual came to the FBI [and] said they heard that a person had to pay, I believe it was $5 million, for an action that the vice president would take and that they would pass it through shell companies from one to the next, where money could get to the vice president. We wanted to know was that even true and was it looked at,” McCarthy said, explaining that the FBI initially did not acknowledge it had the document in the first place and said it would not comply with the subpoena. Because of that, McCarthy called FBI Director Christopher Wray and said they would hold them in contempt, forcing him to change his mind. (Read more)

Europe's most dangerous 'supervolcano' could be creeping toward eruption, scientists warn
|

Italy's Campi Flegrei is showing some troubling early warning signs, but scientists caution that its eruption is far from certain.
A long-slumbering "supervolcano" in Italy is getting closer to a potential eruption for the first time since 1538, a new study warns — and the consequences could be catastrophic.
The Campi Flegrei volcano, near Naples in southern Italy, has crust that is becoming weaker and more prone to rupturing, "making an eruption more likely", scientists behind a new study have said.
More than 1.5 million people live above the vast underground volcano complex, and half a million people have their homes inside its 7-mile-long (11 kilometers) caldera, which was formed after an enormous eruption 39,000 years ago.
If Campi Flegrei were to reenact its largest previous eruption, it would punch molten rock and volcanic gases high into the stratosphere, unleash 100-feet-high (33.5 meters) tsunamis and spread a plume of sulfur and toxic ash that could plunge Earth into global winter for years — killing crops and causing mass extinctions. The researchers published their findings June 9 in the journal Communications Earth & Environment.

Only Two Genders? Americans Unveil Stance and Majority Reject Schools Counseling on Gender Behind Parents' Backs
|

A new survey has revealed Americans overwhelmingly believe there are only two genders and do not think schools should secretly counsel trans-identifying children without their parents’ knowledge. The Rasmussen Reports telephone and online survey, conducted May 24-25, 2023, found 71% of U.S. adults agree “there are two genders, male and female” — and 57% strongly agree with the statement. Just 23% of Americans disagree with the idea male and female are the only genders. Among other intriguing results in the survey was the finding just 26% of Americans surveyed believe school staff should be permitted to counsel kids about gender and sexual identity without parental consent. Meanwhile, 60% reject such a notion, with an additional 14% stating they are unsure.
Not surprisingly, Republicans — some of the most vocal opponents of schools introducing such topics to young people — are most likely to oppose (75%) counseling kids on gender and sexual identity. Sixty-four percent of individuals not affiliated with either major political party agree this shouldn’t unfold without parental consent, with 44% of Democrats saying the same, The Christian Post reported.
The survey results come as the national debate over LGBTQ issues reaches a fever pitch. With boycotts of retailer Target and beer brand Bud Light persisting, there’s no telling where the discussion will go next. In one key legal battle, a veteran middle school teacher in California who has spent more than 20 years in the education system is suing officials over the claim she and other educators were implored to conceal students’ gender identities from parents.
