The Hill: We need a serious conversation about Joe Biden’s brain
|
|
Speaking to reporters Wednesday, President Biden falsely claimed that Russia is at war with Iraq. Russia is at war with Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is “clearly losing the war in Iraq,” Biden told the press pool, “losing the war at home. And he has become a bit of a pariah around the world.”
On Tuesday, during an unrelated fundraising event in Chevy Chase, Md., Biden made the exact same slip-up, mistaking Ukraine for Iraq. “If anybody told you … that we’d be able to bring all of Europe together in the onslaught on Iraq and get NATO to be completely united,” the president said, “I think they would have told you it’s not likely.”
Although many journalists did a fine job this week highlighting the president’s apparent confusion regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, one can’t help but feel as if the news industry as a whole is avoiding the obvious follow-up question. Namely, “Is Biden OK?”
It’s not an unfair question, either, considering the Iraq/Ukraine gaffes were not an isolated series of incidents. They are simply the latest in a string of bizarre, confused and mostly unintelligible statements from Biden in the much longer string of bizarre, confused and mostly unintelligible statements that have come to define the Biden presidency.
“We have plans to build a railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean,” the president said this month during an address before the League of Conservation Voters.
There is no such plan, of course, to build a railroad from the Pacific coast to the Indian Ocean. According to his White House handlers, the president was referring to a plan that would connect railroads across the African continent, linking ports on the Atlantic Ocean to ports on the Indian Ocean. French police union declares “civil war” in France: it’s us or the violent minorities…

The situation in France has escalated alarmingly fast. Police are reporting that “violent minorities” are wreaking havoc across the county — setting things on fire, looting, and wreaking widespread destruction.
I would just like to point out that in 2022 alone, at least 45,728 illegal immigrants (like this scholar) crossed the English Channel in dinghies from France.

The chaos erupted after a police officer shoot a North African teenager who allegedly failed to cooperate, threatened the police, and sped off in his car.. . The situation has escalated to the point where police unions are now sounding “civil war” alarms, claiming they’re dealing with an “us versus them” conflict.

Popular entrepreneur Arnaud Bertrand translated a recent communique from French police unions discussing this very issue. Here’s what it said:
"We’re truly witnessing a radicalization on both sides in France. This is an unreal communiqué by the main French police unions, essentially declaring France is in a civil war and that the police is in the “resistance” against the government."
“Now that’s enough… Facing these savage hordes, asking for calm is no longer enough, it must be imposed! Restoring the republican order and putting the apprehended beyond the capacity to harm should be the only political signals to give.
In the face of such exactions, the police family must stand together. Our colleagues, like the majority of citizens, can no longer bear the tyranny of these violent minorities.
The time is not for union action, but for combat against these “pests”. Surrendering, capitulating, and pleasing them by laying down arms are not the solutions in light of the gravity of the situation. All means must be put in place to restore the rule of law as quickly as possible.
For these reasons, Alliance Police Nationale and UNSA Police will take their responsibilities and warn the government from now on that at the end, we will be in action and without concrete measures for the legal protection of the Police, an appropriate penal response, significant means provided, the police will judge the extent of the consideration given.

Israel launches major counterterror operation in Jenin
|
|
The Israel Defense Forces began a major counterterror operation in Jenin in the early hours of Monday, including the entry into the Samaria city of significant ground forces.
“IDF forces are currently encircling the refugee camp from all directions as part of a ‘brigade-level’ operation,” said IDF Spokesperson R. Adm. Daniel Hagari. “We have no intention of occupying the refugee camp, and this is not an operation against the Palestinian Authority. We will create a sequence of operations in the northern part of the West Bank,” he added.
An Israeli soldier from the elite Duvdevan undercover unit was lightly wounded during the operation from grenade shrapnel, the IDF said. He was evacuated to a hospital for treatment and subsequently returned to the field. (JNS.org) Read more

Netanyahu: Jenin operation targets people who would annihilate Israel
|
|
The IDF's operation in Jenin is meant to stop terrorist seeking to destroy Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said less than a day after the IDF entered the northern West Bank city on Monday.
“Last night, Israeli soldiers tried to reach undetected the most legitimate target on the planet - people who would annihilate our country,” the prime minister said.
Speaking at the US Embassy’s Fourth of July Party, Netanyahu said this is a day to remember that “freedom is precious and it’s never free. Often, it involves firm and decisive efforts against those who seek to destroy it and pursue terror.”

1. French journalist apprehended with 3 grenades at border crossing - Israel National News
A French journalist was apprehended at the Gilboa Crossing with three grenades in his car, the Defense Ministry announced this evening (Wednesday).
The journalist, who was in possession of an official journalist ID card, drove from the city of Jenin to the crossing this afternoon. Upon inspection of his vehicle, Ministry of Defense security guards discovered a gas grenade and two additional grenades used for riot dispersion. Police forces arrived at the crossing to safely dispose of the grenades.
The journalist was taken into custody for further investigation by security forces, and a report was sent to the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs.(Read more)

2. Jenin residents blame Abbas, Hamas for IDF raid - JNS
Residents of the Jenin refugee camp are blaming the Palestinian Authority and Hamas for this week’s two-day Israeli military incursion, laying bare divisions within the Palestinian terrorist groups.
Significant numbers of Hamas operatives feel betrayed by their leaders in Gaza and have quit in anger. The aftermath also exposes a widening rift in the Strip between Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
On Wednesday morning, after Israeli soldiers left the camp, the enormous extent of the damage became clearly visible. Dozens of overturned vehicles lay on the sides of roads and soot marks were visible on windows and walls. (Read more)

3. Tel Aviv Rocked by Fierce Protests Following ‘Politically Motivated’ Ousting of Police Chief - Algemeiner
Protestors engaged in fierce clashes with police in Tel Aviv on Wednesday night, as thousands of Israelis took to the streets of the city to protest the ousting of its veteran police chief, Amichai Eshed, amid claims from ministers in the right-wing coalition government that he was too restrained in his handling of protests against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposed judicial reforms.
The most serious confrontation took place on the Ayalon Highway, where protestors waving Israeli flags lit bonfires and blocked traffic. One irate driver reportedly attempted to plow through the crowd, injuring at least one protestor before he was pulled over and arrested.
Police fired water cannon at the protestors as local media outlets reported that they were struggling to restore order. Some residents of surrounding apartment buildings lit fireworks in a gesture of solidarity, drawing appreciative cheers from the assembled protestors below.
With Israel rocked by protests lasting several months against the government’s radical plans to place the judiciary under greater political control, Eshed had been singled out by government figures — among them the far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir — for allegedly treating the demonstrators with kid gloves. 4. 'Israeli forces are happy to kill children,' BBC anchor tells ex-PM Bennett - Jerusalem Post
A BBC anchor told former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett that "Israeli forces are happy to kill children" in an interview where Bennett responded to criticism of the Israeli operation in Jenin. The BBC interview was conducted by host Anjana Gadgil and was posted to Bennett's YouTube channel on Wednesday.
"The Israeli military are calling this a 'military operation,' but we now know that young people are being killed, four of them under eighteen. Is that really what the military set out to do? To kill people between the ages of 16 and 18?”
“Quite to the contrary," Bennet replied. "Actually, all 11 people dead there are militants. The fact that there are young terrorists who decide to hold arms is their responsibility." The former Israeli prime minister went on to explain that, of many of the terror attacks over the past year, events that have collectively ended several dozens of Israeli civilian lives, the perpetrators have come from, and we trained in, Jenin. "Jenin has become an epicenter of terror," he says. "All the Palestinians that were killed were terrorists in this case." (Read more)

5. Israeli researcher abducted in Iraq by radical Shi’ite militia - Times of Israel
Elizabeth Tsurkov, an Israeli Middle East analyst who also holds Russian citizenship, is being held by a radical Shiite militia in Iraq, the Prime Minister’s Office announced on Wednesday.
Tsurkov visited Iraq “on her Russian passport at her own initiative pursuant to work on her doctorate and academic research on behalf of Princeton University in the US,” the PMO said in a statement.
She has been missing for several months, and is apparently being held by Kataeb Hezbollah, a paramilitary group backed by Iran, according to the statement. The group is a distinct entity from the Lebanese Hezbollah. The PMO added that Israel “views Iraq as responsible for her fate and safety.” (Read more)

1. Biden Administration Released Afghanistan Report Day Before Holiday in Attempt to Bury It, Republicans Say - Brietbart
The Biden administration released a State Department review of its botched Afghanistan withdrawal the Friday before the July Fourth holiday weekend, in what Republicans say was an attempt to bury its release.
The administration also omitted about 60 pages in the version that was released. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) blasted the late release, saying he had called for the administration back in April to release an unclassified version of the review — which was completed in March 2022:
On April 25, I called upon the State Department to declassify its After-Action Review on Afghanistan within 60 days. The department failed to fulfill that request, instead choosing to release only a small portion of that document – 24 of 87 pages that were already unclassified – and completely omitted the narrative which forms the bulk of the report. There is no reason not to produce a declassified version of the full report, as much of it is marked ‘Sensitive but Unclassified’ or ‘Unclassified.’ This is another blatant attempt to hide the Biden administration’s culpability in the chaotic and deadly evacuation from Afghanistan. 2. US citizenship test changes are coming, raising concerns for those with low English skills - AP News
The U.S. citizenship test is being updated, and some immigrants and advocates worry the changes will hurt test-takers with lower levels of English proficiency.
The naturalization test is one of the final steps toward citizenship — a monthslong process that requires legal permanent residency for years before applying.
Many are still shaken after former Republican President Donald Trump’s administration changed the test in 2020, making it longer and more difficult to pass. Within months, Democratic President Joe Biden took office and signed an executive order aimed at eliminating barriers to citizenship. In that spirit, the citizenship test was changed back to its previous version, which was last updated in 2008. (Read more)

3. CBP officer accused of taking bribes to allow drug smugglers into U.S. - The Washington Times
A Customs and Border Protection officer was indicted Monday on charges of taking bribes to allow drugs to be smuggled across the southern border.
Leonard George asked for and received unspecified “items of value” from drug traffickers, the Office for the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California said in a news release.
Mr. George is accused of coordinating with fellow defendants Mario Gutierrez, Esteban Galvan and four unnamed others the smuggling of heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine from Mexico. (Read more)

4. States to sue EPA over 'damaging' environmental impact of residential wood-burning stoves - Fox Business
Ten states are suing the Biden administration for allowing consumers to continue buying and using wood-burning stoves, claiming the appliances are more damaging to the environment than what a previous assessment found.
A 60-day notice of intent submitted last week accused the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of failing to review and ensure emissions standards for residential wood-burning stoves and, as a result, allowing the continued sale of appliances that could worsen pollution, attorneys general from the ten states wrote.
"If newer wood heaters do not meet cleaner standards, then programs to change out old wood heaters may provide little health benefits at significant public cost," the letter read.
The states involved are Alaska, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Vermont and Washington. The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency also joined the states in the lawsuit. (Read more)

5. Largest teachers union wants kids to read book describing oral sex and masturbation - DML News
The National Education Association (NEA) on Monday recommended that teachers include the controversial book “Gender Queer” on their summer reading lists.
The book was featured in the NEA’s “Great Summer Reads for Educators!” list that showcased 11 books. Among those books are “White Fragility,” a book that insists that White Americans use anger, shame and guilt to avoid taking responsibility for racial inequality.
The book “Gender Queer” has faced massive backlash from concerned parents and conservatives over its graphic illustrations showing oral sex and masturbation.
The NEA website encourages students to read “banned books,” including those with “racy content.” The NEA writes:
Twilight used to be at the top of banned-book lists for its racy content. Today, those lists are much more likely to feature LGBTQ+ people or People of Color. Indeed, the top two books banned in 2022 were Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe, about identifying outside the gender binary, and All Boys Aren’t Blue: A Memoir-Manifesto by George M. Johnson.

6. Federal judge blocks part of Florida’s new election law about voter registration - AOL News
Saying the case “arises from Florida’s latest assault on the right to vote,” a federal judge Monday blocked parts of a new elections law challenged by voter-registration groups.
Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker, in a 58-page decision, issued a preliminary injunction against parts of the law that would prevent non-U.S. citizens from “collecting or handling” voter-registration applications and make it a felony for voter-registration group workers to keep personal information of voters.
Walker sided with groups such as the NAACP, the League of Women Voters of Florida and Hispanic Federation that argued the changes are unconstitutional.
The law (SB 7050), which Gov. Ron DeSantis signed in May, made a series of changes in Florida’s elections system, particularly focused on “third-party” voter registration groups. DeSantis and other state Republican leaders argued, in part, that the law was needed to ensure that elections are secure. (Read more)

7. FDA blasted for 'misleading' mRNA COVID vaccine labels as 'sudden death' research mounts - Just The News
Researchers around the world continue documenting potentially severe side effects from COVID-19 mRNA vaccines in certain demographics, but the Food and Drug Administration refuses to label them or even tell recipients the shots can't stop transmission of an increasingly immune-evasive virus.
Autopsies and reviews of medical records revealed a much higher incidence of Pfizer and Moderna vaccine-associated heart deaths than officially categorized in South Korean, Japanese and Qatari government registries, particularly in younger people at lower risk from COVID. That echoes a German autopsy study of healthy people who died within 20 days of jabs.
An FDA-funded study in the Journal of the American Medical Association Pediatrics on May 22 also found a "safety signal" for myocarditis and pericarditis — forms of serious heart inflammation — following vaccination in 12-17 year-olds. It was based on "near-real-time monitoring using commercial claims databases" for more than 3 million children ages 5-17 who took Pfizer's vaccine. (Read more)

8. As 'Pride Month' ends, Congress wants accountability for taxpayer spending on LGBT projects - Just The News
As LGBT Pride Month ends, a close look at federal spending trends shows that the U.S. government is increasingly doling out billions of dollars for a range of LGBT-linked projects across education, the military, foreign aid and more.
Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, sent a letter to the Department of Defense last month giving the federal agency a July 15 deadline to report back every way that taxpayer dollars allocated for defense purposes are being used to “fund Pride Month activities.”
“It has come to our attention that the Department of Defense (DoD) will once again divert American families’ tax dollars away from advancing its mission to 'deter war and ensure our nation’s security' to the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) events during the month of June 2023,” Roy wrote in the letter.

Stupidocrisy: Delusional Deprogramming

There are a lot of stupid things being done in this world by self-proclaimed smart people. We see it every day. The lack of common sense, common decency and common manners has become, well, common. In fact, it is a phenomenon and when it becomes institutionalized, I would say it is Stupidocrisy. We especially see it in political leaders. We also see it in those who blindly follow conspiracy theories that are totally absurd just because they want to believe it is truth. Each week, The Daily Jot tries to pick out the most stupid thing of the week and call it what it is—stupid—in this once a week feature, Stupidocrisy. Hopefully, it gives you a chuckle and a way to talk about these things with others.
This week’s Stupidocrisy is about deprogramming. The left’s talking points in October 2021 on all their propaganda outlets (translated mainstream media) pondered how to deprogram 74 million people who voted for Donald Trump. They said these mostly white supremacists are responsible for a delusional cult that is dangerous to America. They say that the handful of people who took selfies at the Capitol on January 6 and that the delusional QAnon followers are representative of all Trump voters. Throw in everybody who is white, Christian and not a Democrat, and there’s probably more than 74 million, but that’s a good start for the left and Democratic Party leaders. By the way, aren’t most of them white, and claim to be Christian? And wasn’t it the Democratic Party that institutionalized the white supremacist Jim Crow laws? Read More

The misnamed “Equality Act” (HR 15) has been reintroduced in the U.S. House and already has 212 co-sponsors. Every Democrat is on board. If only a few Republicans sign on, this bill can bypass the Speaker and will pass. If it passes in the House, it has a high probability of passing in the U.S. Senate.
LGBTQ proponents are using the Supreme Court’s pro-liberty rulings from last week as a reason to pass HR 15. This bill is now the greatest legislative threat to our freedom and to families and children. And this bill removes the Religious Freedom Restoration Act protections!
If HR 15 passes, parents will not even be able to protest the sick LGBTQ materials that are flooding public schools, and our children’s innocence will be destroyed. Read on, but first fax Congress now! — Mat

- Hearts fraught with fear, anger and retribution.
- Minds captivated by hatred, suspicion and wounds of the past.
- Neighborhoods and homes of innocent families.
- City streets where violent mobs are gathered.
- Crowds stirred up by embedded agitators.
- Hospitals that need to be prepared to aid the injured.
- Firefighters and rescue workers as they respond to calls.
- The police force as they work to assuage anger and quell violence.

In a time when so many of us struggle to even know how to pray, here is my prayer for our nation. I invite you to join me in lifting these requests to God:
Father of all that is, I bow before You acknowledging You as creator and king over all. As I come to pray for my country, I realize that the prophet Isaiah told us that “the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales” (Is 40:15). No great empire or humble province lasts forever. Yet Your will brings nations into being and uses them as instruments for Your purposes. The Apostle Paul told us, “From one man he (God) made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact place where they should live.” (Acts 17:26).
I thank you for calling into being the United States of America. I am grateful for the godly foundation laid by men and women of faith who built into the very fabric of our country a commitment to freedom that was seen as being a gift from You. Thank You for the sacrifice of so many through the years who gave time, effort, and sometimes, their very lives to preserve and protect that freedom.
With no lessening of my appreciation for this nation, I also realize that we have fallen short of our promise. We have increasingly depended upon our own strength and wisdom rather than that which comes from above. We have often catered to the wealthy and ignored the needs of the poor and afflicted. We have failed to accept all life as a gift from You and have treated the unborn, the ill, and the elderly with increasing contempt. In spite of our stated values of equality and justice, we continue to harbor racism and injustice within our society. Most of all, we have turned our back on You and sought to live as though You were not.
We face troubling times. Our economy has been damaged and many of our citizens are hurting. Our nation is fractured and badly divided in so many ways. The issues faced by our leaders are enormous. Grant them Your grace and peace. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and give them wisdom and discernment in this critical hour.
Lord…we repent! Please pour out upon our nation a spirit of repentance. Help us to turn from sin and turn back to You. As we seek Your face, would You revive your people once again? Would you empower Your church in this nation to be the salt and light You have called us to be? Would you help us to love You with all of our mind, heart and soul and strength, and to love one another deeply with kindness and goodness? Make us one, Lord, as You and the Father are one. Holy Spirit, teach us how to honor and respect one another and to journey together with one heart – the heart of Jesus. Transform us into image bearers of Christ who bring glory and honor to our Father whenever we speak or act.
Father, in these days of decision, fulfill Your purposes for our nation. I stand in prayer with my brothers and sisters in Christ and re-commit the United States into your care.
Restore to us the vision of being a city on a hill, a place from which the light of Christ can shine to the nations. May we be a nation whose God is the Lord!

- A new study found that time appeared to move five times slower in the early days of the universe.
- Scientists used quasars — enormously bright supermassive black holes — to arrive at their findings.
- The study offers direct observations that support Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity.
Scientists recently discovered that time appeared to move five times slower in the early days of the universe, CNN reported.
The universe is about 13.7 billion years old. But in its nascent stages — when it was about 1 billion years old — time appeared to move in slow motion compared to now, scientists concluded in a Nature Astronomy study published this week.
The researchers used quasars — supermassive black holes that feed on gas and are among the brightest known celestial objects — to arrive at their finding. Quasars "are crucial to understanding the early universe," one astronomer said in 2018.
Scientists working on the study observed 190 quasars over two decades to use them like clocks.
"Looking back to a time when the universe was just over a billion years old, we see time appearing to flow five times slower," Geraint Lewis, the study's lead author and a professor of astrophysics at the University of Sydney's School of Physics and Sydney Institute for Astronomy, said in a statement. Revival Movement with a History of Miracles and Soul Winning Is Headed to Virginia

Nearly 2,000 people have already signed up for a revival event in Virginia where prayer, worship, and miracle healings are expected to take place. The Parousia Encounter Conference is a two-day event kicking off in Hampton Roads on July 21-22, 2023, to encourage people to serve Jesus in a greater way. The conference will be hosted by Apostle Demontae Edmonds, founder of Destiny for the Nations, and Pastor Nina Anderson of The Wells Ministries.
"Parousia is more than a gathering; it's an encounter! My first experience was so empowering! We pray everyone is transformed and healed by the miraculous power of God," Anderson shared. Edmonds has traveled to many nations sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the heart of helping equip leaders to better serve in the Kingdom of God.
Edmonds has been nicknamed by many as "The Miracle Man" and says he has seen the Holy Spirit move powerfully at his international meetings. "We've seen limbs grow. When we were in India, in one meeting, there were over a dozen people totally, or partially blind that were touched by the power of God and instantly became able to see," Edmonds told Charisma Magazine. He added, "There was one testimony where the gentleman who was not only able to see, (but) he looked up to the back of the building and said that he could read. The miracle of that is, he had never been able to see. So that means he was never able to read or was never taught to read. So now, not only was he able to see, somehow supernaturally God gave him the ability to read. So I believe there's going to be an increase of those creative miracles until it gets to the proportion of biblical type miracles, and we've been seeing them consistently throughout our ministry."
