Pastor Rafael Cruz: "We Need to Elect Righteous Leaders!"
|
|
This past Monday, we welcomed Pastor Rafael Cruz as our Guest Speaker on our CHPP Weekly National Conference Call.
Pastor Cruz is the father of Senator Ted Cruz from Texas -- a man of 84 years who has pursued a career of his own!
Raised inside Communist Cuba; tortured for his faith and his own desire to remain free, Rafael found a way to come to America, where he has remained ever since . . . preaching a DYNAMIC MESSAGE of warning to our people. In his riveting speech, Rafael warned all of us that, unless we wake up, we, too, are headed in the direction of buying into the lies of Communism.
His answer, he said: "We must elect righteous leaders -- men and women who are people of God, who have studied the Scriptures, and who know how to walk in TRUTH!"
Please take time this week to listen to his amazing message for yourselves. You can do so by going here. Thank you, and may God bless America!

A Word from our Vice President!
|
|
"We have an enemy that has worked hard to take away our faith, and our courage. But we have an obligation to save our Republic. As our ancestors knelt to pray, let us do the same. And in the Mercy of our Lord and Savior, America will live to once again be the home of the free and land of the brave."

Eric Metaxas calls on the Church to 'wake up' or face disastrous consequences:
'Everything's at stake'
|
|
Eric Metaxas isn’t afraid to speak difficult truths into an increasingly secularized culture, and he’s issuing a clarion call to the American Church to do likewise, warning that neglecting this call will lead to disastrous consequences. “There are many pastors and Christian leaders being silent in the face of evil today,” the bestselling author and radio host told The Christian Post. “They are not all consciously working for the devil, they are, nonetheless, effectively working for the devil because they are unaware that what they're doing is not what God calls His Church to do.”
Metaxas penned his latest book, Letter to the American Church, out of a conviction that the Church must “wake up” to the realities of evil and stand for biblical truth. In it, he draws from both history and the Bible to highlight the need for the church to speak out against societal evils. “There are all kinds of figures from history and in the Scripture who understand that, ‘My duty is to God, and if that makes me unpopular, if that makes me attacked, who cares?’” he said.
According to Metaxas, the Church’s silence on critical issues effectively aids the forces of evil.
In his book, he draws sobering parallels between the modern church and the German Church of the 1930s, in which “pastors were somehow fooled into buying the idea that … we’re not supposed to go against the governing authorities.” “What the German church did in the '30s, they had no idea that they were getting this stuff wrong. They had all kinds of theological reasons why they thought it was good not to comment on politics,” he said. “We now see what the results were; it was a nightmare out of the pit of Hell. The evil that was unleashed because of the silence of the German Church is part of the ugliest history imaginable.”
“We look at Germany, and it's very easy for us to say, ‘Oh, they should have spoken out against the Nazis,’” he added. “But we have pastors today who are effectively not speaking out against the Nazis. The Chinese Communist Party is as wicked as the Nazis ever were, with infinitely greater technology. They are doing satanic things. The Uighur Muslims in China are being murdered for their organs, which can be sold for a lot of money that accrues to the Communist Party. Where is the Church on that issue? How can you not be outraged?” (Christian Post) Read more here.

- Israel launches major counterterror operation in Jenin - JNS
The Israel Defense Forces began a major counterterror operation in Jenin in the early hours of Monday, including the entry into the Samaria city of significant ground forces.
“IDF forces are currently encircling the refugee camp from all directions as part of a ‘brigade-level’ operation,” said IDF Spokesperson R. Adm. Daniel Hagari. “We have no intention of occupying the refugee camp, and this is not an operation against the Palestinian Authority. We will create a sequence of operations in the northern part of the West Bank,” he added.
An Israeli soldier from the elite Duvdevan undercover unit was lightly wounded during the operation from grenade shrapnel, the IDF said. He was evacuated to a hospital for treatment and subsequently returned to the field.
According to the IDF, seven Palestinians had been killed as of Monday morning. The Palestinian Health Ministry raised its death toll to eight as of the early afternoon. (Read more)

2. 'Protests during Jenin operation show double standard - Israel National News
Member of Knesset Ahmed Tibi (Hadash-Ta'al) criticized the operation today in the Jenin area.
Tibi claimed at a party meeting today (Monday) that "in 2002 the occupation army invaded Jenin, dozens were killed, murdered and injured. This did not cause the residents of Jenin to give up. Then, just two weeks ago, 7 Palestinians from Jenin were shot and killed by soldiers of the occupation."
"Jenin opposes invading soldiers. It is the natural way. It happened everywhere. In Africa, in Algeria against the French, in Vietnam against the Americans, in Central Africa against the Belgians," Tibi added.
He later lamented and said: "Look at what is happening today, there is overwhelming support for this invasion of Jenin, which involves killing, destruction, destruction of infrastructure and roads. It involves damage to the Freedom Theater - and the Likud, Ben-Gvir, National Unity, Yesh Atid and Labor - every party but one supports it. The Hadash-Ta'al party." (Read more)

The Hamas terror group on Monday called on Palestinians to join the fighting after the Israel Defense Forces launched a major anti-terror offensive in the West Bank city of Jenin, as Gaza-based terrorists threatened to send volleys of rockets flying toward Israeli cities.
“Our people and their resistance everywhere know how to respond to this barbaric aggression,” Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said in a statement hours after Israel kicked off the campaign, its largest offensive in the West Bank in some 20 years.
Jenin is seen as a hotbed of terror activity, and the operation, involving some 1,000 troops, came in response to a series of deadly attacks emanating from Jenin and the surrounding areas. (Read more)

5. Palestinian leadership stops all contacts with Israel - Jerusalem Post
The Palestinian leadership decided on Monday night to halt all contact and meetings with Israel and continue the suspension of security coordination between the Palestinian security forces and the Israeli security forces.
The Ramallah-based leadership also decided to limit its relationship with the US over Washington’s alleged failure to exert pressure on Israel.
The decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the Palestinian leadership in Ramallah to discuss the latest developments surrounding the large-scale IDF operation in Jenin Refugee Camp, which began earlier in the day.
Earlier this year, the Palestinian Authority decided to suspend the security coordination after Israeli forces killed nine Palestinians during a raid in Jenin. (Read more)

1. Cocaine found at White House sparked evacuation, US media report - BBC
A white substance that sparked an emergency evacuation at the White House on Sunday night has tested positive for cocaine, US media reported. The substance was found in a work area at the secure building during a routine inspection, the US Secret Service said. The preliminary positive test was reported by the Washington Post and AP News, citing law enforcement sources.
President Joe Biden and his family were away at the Camp David residence when the substance was found.
The White House complex was closed as a precaution around 20:45 local time (01:45 BST) on Sunday after Secret Service officers found the white powder "inside a work area" of the West Wing, Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi told the BBC in a statement.
Mr Guglielmi said the fire department was quickly called and found the substance to be "non-hazardous". He did not confirm the preliminary test results, saying the item has been sent for additional testing and that an investigation is ongoing, including on how the substance entered the White House.
The West Wing is a large, multi-level part of the White House that contains the offices of the president of the United States, including the Oval Office and the Situation Room. It also houses the offices of the vice-president, the White House chief of staff, the press secretary, and hundreds of other staff who have access. (Read more)

- Father God, no matter our political views, we continue to pray for all who are in
authority - especially for those who work inside the White House. We thank You that this substance as found; and that all who were inside the building on Sunday night were kept safe, even as the President was at Camp David. In Your Name, Holy One, we offer this prayer, amen and amen.
- "2 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2. Congress wants answers on suspension of US Iran envoy Rob Malley - JNS.org
The chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee is demanding answers from the State Department over an investigation into Iran special envoy Rob Malley.
Texas Republican Rep. Michael McCaul wrote a letter on Friday to Secretary of State Antony Blinken after it was revealed that Malley was put on unpaid leave last week after earlier this year being stripped of his security clearance amid an investigation into his handling of classified documents.
“The Department’s failure to inform Congress of this matter demonstrates at best a lack of candor, and at worst represents deliberate and potentially unlawful misinformation,” the chairman wrote. “Given the gravity of the situation, it is imperative that the Department expeditiously provide a full and transparent accounting of the circumstances surrounding Special Envoy Malley’s clearance suspension and investigation and the Department’s statements to Congress regarding Special Envoy Malley.” (Read more)
- Father, we thank You for Congressmembers who are demanding accountability from this unelected department of the administration. We pray for Congress to have the ability to be effective and successful. We also pray for no unrighteous deals to be made with Iran and that the Secretary of State abides by the rules and responsibilities established for this position, in Jesus name.

3. US Takes First Step to Counter China’s Drug Warfare Against America - The Epoch Times
The U.S. Justice Department on Friday filed criminal charges against four Chinese chemical manufacturing companies and eight individuals over allegations they illegally trafficked the chemicals used to make fentanyl - a highly addictive painkiller that has fueled the opioid crisis in the United States.
The indictments mark the first time the U.S. has sought to prosecute any of the Chinese companies responsible for manufacturing precursor chemicals used to make the painkiller.

China's foreign ministry on Saturday urged the U.S. to stop using what it said were fentanyl-related pretexts to sanction and prosecute Chinese companies and citizens, and demanded the immediate release of those who were "illegally arrested".
"China urges the U.S. side to stop dumping blame and to stop smear attacks on China," the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier, the Chinese embassy spokesperson Liu Pengyu said such "long-arm jurisdiction" would create more obstacles for China-U.S. counter-narcotics cooperation.
The move came after Antony Blinken made the first visit to China by a U.S. Secretary of State in five years and said he had made clear that Washington needs much greater Chinese cooperation to stem the flow of fentanyl. (Read more)

- Thank You Father that this administration is taking a step towards interrupting the flow of fentanyl and its products from Chinese biolabs to the Mexican Sinaloa cartel. We pray that even this little bit will result in a lowering of the amount of this cruel drug, in Jesus name. We pray for this indictment to be strong and effective and not just for show. May there be teeth in the prosecution and prison time for the culprits, in Jesus name.

4. US intelligence warns Americans, U.S. companies in China about new espionage law - Just the News
"Any documents, data, materials, or items could be considered relevant to PRC national security due to ambiguities in the law," the U.S. counterintelligence agency said.
The U.S. National Counterintelligence and Security Center is warning American citizens and U.S. companies in China about an expanded counterespionage law that appears to allow its ruling Chinese Community Party greater access and control of their information.
The intelligence agency warned before the law went into effect Saturday that the government has "expanded legal grounds for accessing and controlling data held by U.S. firms in China."
The agency also warned in a bulletin issued Friday: "U.S. companies and individuals in China could also face penalties for traditional business activities that Beijing deems acts of espionage or for actions that Beijing believes assist foreign sanctions against China."
Additionally, the law may force Chinese nationals at U.S. firms to assist Beijing's intelligence efforts, U.S. officials said.
The law appears to add to the grown rift between China and the United States, largely over concerns about China's demand for information from foreigners who do business with or within the country. (Read more)
- Father God, we thank You for this new law that is now in place to enhance our security measures against any spying by Chinese nationals. Thank You, Lord, amen.

6. Florida becomes 26th state to allow people to carry concealed gun without permit - Just the News
Those wanting to carry concealed gun in Florida still must pass background check, go through a three-day waiting period to purchase gun. Florida on Saturday became the most recent U.S state to allow people to carry a concealed gun without a government-issued permit.
The state joins 25 others in allows for so-called "conceal carry," but those wanting to do so in Florida still must pass a background check and go through a three-day waiting period to purchase a gun.
Other states that do not require a license to conceal carry include Alabama, Kansas and Oklahoma.
The law went into effect July 1, after Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the legislative measure into law in April. There were no reports Saturday of problems related to the law going into effect.
The measure DeSantis signed also eliminates a previous state requirement for training to carry a concealed weapon. “You don’t need a permission slip from the government to be able to exercise your Second Amendment rights,” DeSantis, who is now a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said during a recent campaign event. 7. REPORT: Bud Light Production Plants Are Starting To Shut Down Due To Plummeting Sales - Daily Caller
Bud Light’s decision to partner with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney has been an utter disaster, with several executives being fired from the brand as a recent result. You even have former executives of the company calling for the current CEO to be canned as well. Even businesses outside of Anheuser-Busch are getting hit, with retailers taking major financial hits because they’re struggling to sell their supply of Bud Light. In fact, it’s been so bad that the beer has been priced lower than water at some bars.
It’s been a trainwreck for Bud Light and everybody connected, and things are reportedly getting even worse for the beer giant as production is now being impacted. Production plants that work with the Anheuser-Busch brand are now starting to shut down, with a glass bottle factory in Wilson, North Carolina being forced to close its doors in the next few weeks, according to WRAL. Declining sales “forced a glass plant in Wilson to cut down bottle production starting in May,” read WRAL’s report.
“With Bud Light’s huge drop in sales, last week, the plant’s owner, the Ardagh group, announced it would be shutting down the factory in Mid-July, laying off close to 400 employees.”
Another plant associated with Bud Light in Ruston, Louisiana is also shutting down, with 245 jobs being lost. (Read more)

We pray for a return to morality and righteousness for our nation and integrity and responsibility in commerce, in Jesus name.
- "Then they went out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind. And they were afraid." (Luke 8:35)

8. The Corporate Diversity Industry Is Finally Getting The Hint That People Are Sick Of Them - The Daily Caller
Support for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) measures in companies is on the decline, The Wall Street Journal reported.
DEI is on a downward trend in corporate America, with many workers saying they are apathetic about a diverse workplace, according to the WSJ. The debate over DEI efforts in the workplace has been brewing since before the Supreme Court ruled on Thursday that colleges and universities cannot use race-based admission standards.
The attitude from companies towards DEI funding is changing, according to the WSJ. A Gallup survey of 140 human resource chiefs revealed that 59% plan to increase their DEI budgets in the next year, while 84% had responded they would in 2022. (Read more)
- Thank You, Lord, that corporate America is waking up to reason, hopefully, but especially to consumers who hope and pray for the “woke” to wake up in business and industry. We speak out and stand up through our wallets and our feet, peaceful demonstrations and letters, emails, faxes, and phone calls to the companies in question, as well as to our representatives in Congress. Lord, continue to hear our prayers and to bless our actions in line with Your will. We praise and thank You, Dear Lord, that the tide is turning. May our nation and citizens find truth, rest, and abundant life in Your precious word and ways. Hallelujah!

A Time To Reflect On God And Country
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, July 3, 2023
As America reflects ahead of Independence Day and where we are as a nation, it is sad that true Americans are vilified by a popular political “party,” and anything standing on ethics, morals and traditional values is ridiculed, mocked and frowned upon. This is a contradiction to the ideal of America. Those who first came to this new land were predominantly Christians who fled Europe because of religious persecution and/or the hope for a better life. This is documented through the writings of those who settled in Jamestown, Plymouth and even the Huguenots who settled in what is now Florida in the late 1500s. The “state of mind” of these early Americans was freedom of worship and enterprise.
Our first president, George Washington, gave great insight into what it means to be an American in his 1796 Farewell Speech. He said, “Citizens, by birth or choice, of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections. The name of American, which belongs to you in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pride of patriotism more than any appellation derived from local discriminations. With slight shades of difference, you have the same religion, manners, habits, and political principles. You have in a common cause fought and triumphed together; the independence and liberty you possess are the work of joint counsels, and joint efforts of common dangers, sufferings, and successes.” Read More

Judge Delivers Major Blow to Biden Admin in Social Media Censorship Case
|
|
|
A federal judge has made a historic ruling by partially granting an injunction that blocks various Biden administration officials and government agencies like the Justice Department and the FBI from working with big tech firms to censor posts on social media.
The injunction came in response to a censorship-by-proxy lawsuit brought by attorneys general in Louisiana and Missouri, who have accused Biden administration officials and various government agencies of pressuring social media companies to suspend accounts or take down posts.
The judge, Terry A. Doughty, wrote in the July 4 judgment (pdf) that various government agencies, including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are prohibited from taking a range of actions with regards to social media companies.
Specifically, the agencies and their staff members are prohibited from meeting or contacting by phone, email, text message or “engaging in any communication of any kind with social-media companies urging, encouraging, pressuring, or inducing in any manner for removal, deletion, suppression, or reduction of content containing protected free speech,” per the injunction.
The agencies are also barred from flagging content on posts on social media platforms and forwarding them to the companies with requests for action such as removing or otherwise suppressing their reach. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

Federal Agency Forced to Build Part of Trump’s Border Wall
|
|
|
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Friday it will build 20 more miles of U.S.–Mexico border wall, carrying out some of former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign vow.
“Until and unless Congress cancels these funds, the law requires DHS to use the funds consistent with their appropriated purpose,” the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement announcing the wall construction. Previously, President Joe Biden’s administration had called on Congress to take action to prevent more of the wall from being constructed, which is unlikely for now because Republicans control the House.
That statement said that the approximately 20 miles of “steel bollard panels” will be erected along the Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector, as mandated by a 2019 border barrier appropriation under Trump’s administration. It noted that “a substantial portion of unobligated funds that had been diverted from the Department of Defense” have been returned to the Pentagon. (Read more) > > > Source: The Epoch Times
- Almighty God, it is a blessing to see this government abide by the law of the land. We pray for this 20 mile section to be built well, securely and timely, in Jesus name. May it be a significant section that diminishes a human highway of illegal crossings into our nation, and we bless all those who are working to secure our border and nation, in Jesus name.

Archaeology is Flipping the Script on What we Know About Ancient Mesoamerica
|
|
The evidence tells us that cooperative and pluralistic governments were at least as common as and more resilient than despotic states in the region.
Recent archaeology emerging from ancient Mesoamerica is flipping the script of public understanding about the people and institutions that inhabited this world: the evidence tells us that cooperative and pluralistic government was at least as common as and more resilient than despotic states.
This more complex picture and the achievements of Mesoamerica’s peoples are all the more impressive given the area’s rugged terrain and resource constraints. Compared to ancient Eurasia, the inhabitants of Mesoamerica—the region stretching from Costa Rica to central Mexico—lacked beasts of burden and wheeled transport, and the use of metals was generally limited.
Until recently, our understanding of how most societies and early states developed was heavily grounded in interpretations of urban societies in Eurasia. Despotic, coercive rule was assumed (except for ancient Athens and republican Rome), the actions of the elite were ascribed great importance, and core functions of the economy were presumed to be in the hands of the ruler. Thank You For Your Prayers Over
Jesus Rocks The Redwoods!
|
|
Over 1,500 people attended the Jesus Rocks The Redwoods this past Saturday, July 1, 2023 for the 12th Anniversary of the event in Eureka, CA. The festival included 12 Christian artists sharing in worship and praise the entire day. One Day... One Voice... One God!
Among those attendees was Pastor Jeff Daly from Lake County, CA who witnessed 3 people baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The atmosphere was filled with hope and praise as many gathered in prayers for our local communities and nation. One of the featured artists at the event was The Lack Family who live near Yosemite National Park in California. This family of 11, including their grandchildren, blessed the crowd with amazing music and God's spirit that captured the moment. A bit of history... many years ago, God told them to sell everything they have and evangelize to the world through faith in Him alone. They were obedient and have been blessed beyond measure ever since. Jesus Rocks The Redwoods was one of their first events as they embark on a 6-month tour ending in Alaska later this year.
Terry & Nancy Barnes continue to lead this outreach ministry by evangelizing to the lost rejected and unaccepted of the world. As a body of the church, we deisre that none should fall short of the Glory of God.
|
|
- Heavenly Father, we thank you for the outpouring of Your Spirit upon the people who gather in worship and praise of Your great name. We ask for your grace and mercy upon those who have chosen to follow the path that leads to everlasting life. Our desire is that none shall fall short of the glory of God. Amen.
- See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. (Hebrews 12:15)

Marching to Zion
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: Isaac Watts
Music: Robert Lowry
Scripture: Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion. Jeremiah 31:6
Lyrics:
Come, we that love the Lord,
And let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
Join in a song with sweet accord
And thus surround the throne,
And thus surround the throne.
Refrain
We’re marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful Zion;
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.
The sorrows of the mind
Be banished from the place;
Religion never was designed
Religion never was designed,
To make our pleasures less,
To make our pleasures less.
Refrain
Let those refuse to sing,
Who never knew our God;
But favorites of the heavenly King,
But favorites of the heavenly King
May speak their joys abroad,
May speak their joys abroad.
Refrain
The God that rules on high,
And thunders when He please,
Who rides upon the stormy sky,
Who rides upon the stormy sky,
And manages the seas,
And manages the seas.
Refrain
This awful God is ours,
Our Father and our Love;
He will send down his heav’nly powers,
He will send down his heav’nly powers,
To carry us above,
To carry us above.
Refrain
There we shall see His face,
And never, never sin!
There, from the rivers of His grace,
There, from the rivers of His grace,
Drink endless pleasures in,
Drink endless pleasures in.
Refrain
Yea, and before we rise,
To that immortal state,
The thoughts of such amazing bliss,
The thoughts of such amazing bliss,
Should constant joys create,
Should constant joys create.
Refrain
The men of grace have found,
Glory begun below.
Celestial fruits on earthly ground
Celestial fruits on earthly ground
From faith and hope may grow,
From faith and hope may grow.
Refrain
The hill of Zion yields
A thousand sacred sweets
Before we reach the heav’nly fields,
Before we reach the heav’nly fields,
Or walk the golden streets,
Or walk the golden streets.
Refrain
Then let our songs abound,
And every tear be dry;
We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground,
We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground,
To fairer worlds on high,
To fairer worlds on high.
Refrain
