Supreme Court Rules DOJ Overstepped in Charging Hundreds of January 6 Defendants with Obstruction

The Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the Justice Department went too far in slapping obstruction charges on hundreds of January 6 defendants.

The court voted 6-3 in favor of defendant Joseph Fischer, a former police officer seeking to dismiss his charge of obstructing an official proceeding, Congress’ certification of President Joe Biden’s election victory.

However, the court ruled that an obstruction charge may be filed if prosecutors are able to prove that a protester was trying to stop the arrival of certificates used to count electoral votes to certify the election results, not just force their way into the Capitol Building.

The decision could have implications for former President Donald Trump, who is also charged with obstruction, although special counsel Jack Smith has argued that Trump’s obstruction of Congress’ certification was much broader than the protesters’ actions.

It could also force prosecutors to reopen at least some of the January 6 cases. (Daily Wire) Read more

- Lord, we praise you for this ruling! Proof should be required for any criminal charge in all situations. We ask that Your justice prevail against the agenda of the government in all these cases. Let innocent people be released from the government’s plans.

- “When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.”   (Proverbs 21:15)

Starliner was Astronauts' "Lifeboat" if Shattered Russian satellite Hit Space Station; Still no Return Date

Astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS) strapped into their "lifeboat vehicles" and braced for an emergency evacuation after a defunct Russian satellite shattered into hundreds of pieces.

That included Boeing's plagued Starliner spacecraft, which officials said could have made it to Earth if debris crashed into the ISS.

"We used Starliner for that safe haven capability," said Steve Stich, manager of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program (CCP).

"(The astronauts) got in the spacecraft, powered the vehicle up, closed the hatch and were ready to execute … an emergency unlocking (from the ISS) and landing."

Starliner's June 5 launch with astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore on board was Boeing's first manned expedition to the ISS since 2014, when Boeing and NASA agreed to a $4.2 billion public-private partnership.

Helium leaks in the propulsion system and faulty thrusters turned a week-long mission into an indefinite stay in space. (Fox News) Read more

- Lord, we pray for the safety of these astronauts as they are unexpectedly stuck at the International Space Station. We ask for grace and hope for their families. We ask for a hedge of protection for the ISS against any debris.

- “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

Van Jones: "High Likelihood" Biden Victory Ultimately Means Kamala Harris Will be President

On Friday’s broadcast of “CNN NewsNight,” CNN Political Commentator and former Obama Adviser Van Jones said that Republican claims that Vice President Kamala Harris is really on the ballot are accurate and “it’s hard to imagine” the Joe Biden that “you saw yesterday” on the debate stage “making it four-and-a-half more years. And so, you do have to acknowledge, there is a high likelihood that a Joe Biden victory ultimately means Kamala Harris will be president.”

Host Abby Phillip said, “This has been something that they have described as a conservative talking point, a hitjob, that she’s really the one on the ballot. But it seems like, at this very moment, that is true.”

Jones responded, “Yeah. Because, look, Joe Biden did a great job today, and that was a relief for a lot of people, but it’s hard to unsee yesterday. And it’s hard to imagine the guy you saw yesterday making it four-and-a-half more years. And so, you do have to acknowledge, there is a high likelihood that a Joe Biden victory ultimately means Kamala Harris will be president. So, people need to make the decision, do you feel comfortable? Do you feel good about that?” (Breitbart) Read more

- Lord, we pray that not one word of this man’s statement comes true. We ask that You prevent the destruction of our nation by bringing God-fearing, righteous people to leadership in this country.

- “Moreover, look for able men from all the people, men who fear God, who are trustworthy and hate a bribe, and place such men over the people as chiefs of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.” (Exodus 18:21)

FOCUS ON ISRAEL

1. UAV explodes in the Golan, 18 wounded, one IDF soldier severely - Israel National News

Several suspicious aerial targets were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israel territory on Sunday afternoon and an explosive UAV fell in the northern Golan Heights.

The IDF updated that one soldier IDF soldier was severely injured and 17 soldiers were lightly injured. The soldiers were evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment. Their families have been notified.

Preliminary investigations found that the aerial defense system identified the UAV, but the Iron Dome did not succeed in intercepting it. (Read more)

2. IDF strikes terror den near Tulkarm - World Israel News

The IDF confirmed earlier Palestinian reports on Sunday that it conducted an airstrike on a building in the Nur Shams refugee camp east of Tulkarm in Samaria.

According to Palestinian reports, the building was the house of the uncle of Abu Shahja’a, commander of the Tulkarm Battalion of the Islamic Jihad Palestinian terror group.

Saeed Izzat Jaber, 24, was killed and five others injured, two in serious condition, the Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported. (Read more)

3. Israel FM to Iran: Regime Threatening Destruction Deserves Destruction - Algemeiner

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said on Saturday that Iran’s message of an “obliterating war” made it worthy of destruction.

”A regime that threatens destruction deserves to be destroyed,” Katz said in a post on X. He also said Israel will act with full force against Iran-backed Hezbollah if it does not stop firing at Israel from Lebanon and move away from the border.

Iran’s UN mission said on Friday that if Israel embarks on a “full-scale military aggression” in Lebanon, “an obliterating war will ensue.”

The Iranian mission also said in the post on X, the website formerly known as Twitter, that in such an event “all options, incl. the full involvement of all resistance fronts, are on the table.”

Hezbollah has been exchanging fire with Israel since October, in parallel with the Gaza war. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said this week they prefer a diplomatic path to resolving the situation. (Read more)

4.  Hezbollah shells north with 40 rockets after operative killed in IDF drone strike - Times of Israel

Hezbollah launched a barrage of some 40 rockets at northern Israel on Thursday afternoon, in what the terror group said was a response to recent Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, including the killing of one of its operatives earlier in the day.

The exchange of fire came as American intelligence expected a major escalation between Israel and Hezbollah in the coming weeks in the absence of a ceasefire with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Politico reported.

An unnamed senior US official told the outlet that the risk of war is higher than it has been for weeks. The officials said that a major attack by either side, which could spark a war, could happen with “little notice.” (Read more)

5. Iran’s UN mission threatens ‘obliterating war’ if Israel launches Lebanon offensive - Times of Israel

Iran’s mission to the United Nations said on Friday that if Israel embarks on a “full-scale military aggression” in Lebanon against Hezbollah, “an obliterating war will ensue.”

The warning came after the Israel Defense Force attacked several Hezbollah positions, in response to the Iran-backed terror group’s latest barrage on northern Israel hours earlier, amid escalating tensions on the Lebanese border.

Writing on X on Friday, the Iranian UN mission said that if Israel were to launch a war on Hezbollah, “all options, including the full involvement of all resistance fronts, are on the table.” (Read more)

1.  Report: Biden Will Participate in Second Debate in September- Breitbart

President Joe Biden, who reportedly will not drop out of the 2024 presidential race, will participate in the second debate in September, a Biden adviser told CNN Friday.

ABC News’ David Muir and Linsey Davis will serve as moderators for the September 10 debate. More details of the event, including rules, location, staging, and format, are not yet decided, according to ABC News.

Pressure is mounting on Biden to step down as many Democrats and media members display hysteria following a disastrous Thursday debate.

Biden mumbled, sounded raspy, and appeared to lose track of his thoughts a few times. Even during his prepared closing statement, Biden did not deliver without error. First lady Jill Biden later walked him down the studio steps after the debate. Read more

- Father, it appears that Biden refuses to step aside, despite the dismal performance at Thursday’s debate. We bind the plans either to prop him up or replace him with an even worse candidate. Let Your truth prevail.

- “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Prov. 3:5)

2. KJP Attempts To Clean Up Biden’s Remarks About US Troops During Debate When Pressed By Reporter- Daily Caller

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre attempted to clean up President Joe Biden’s false statement that no U.S. troops died under his watch.

Biden falsely said he is the first president in the past decade to not witness American troops’ deaths overseas, though thirteen service members died during the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan on August 26, 2021.

“Three U.S. troops that died in Jordan this year and more in Afghanistan in 2021. How can the president say none have died during his administration?” a reporter asked during Friday’s press gaggle.

“So, uh, look, um — obviously the president, as you know, is the Commander-in-Chief and you hear him even when he ends all of these remarks, he talks about respecting our troops who are serving today. And he will always do that and continues to do that. And he obviously had his son was — was obviously served as well. So this is something that he respects. And so, look, I don’t think that’ll ever change. Read more

- Dear Father in Heaven, we pray in the mighty Name of Jesus that Your truth will prevail against this man who is unfit for office. Too many lies have been spoken by this administration. We ask for a move of Your Holy Spirit to bring true repentance to everyone involved in pushing false narratives.

- “Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.” (Prov. 12:19)

3. Red State Supreme Court Upholds Law Banning Child Sex Changes – Daily Caller

The Texas Supreme Court ruled in favor of a state law banning sex change procedures for children on Friday.

The law prevents minors from accessing hormone therapies, puberty blockers and transition surgeries. The court’s 8-1 decision rejected complaints from parents stating the ban violates their children’s rights to seek medical care.

“We conclude the Legislature made a permissible, rational policy choice to limit the types of available medical procedures for children, particularly in light of the relative nascency of both gender dysphoria and its various modes of treatment and the Legislature’s express constitutional authority to regulate the practice of medicine,” the ruling states.

The court upheld the ban on surgeries that sterilize the child, mastectomies and the removal of any otherwise healthy or non-diseased body part or tissue. Read more

- Thank You, Lord, that this state’s Supreme Court ruled to protect children from these egregious procedures. We ask that a move of repentance sweep across the nation, so that the lives of our children and young people are preserved against the plans of the enemy to destroy families.

- “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.” (Acts 3:19)

4.  Iowa Supreme Court: State’s 6-Week Abortion Ban Can Take Effect- The Epoch Times

The Iowa Supreme Court on June 28 ruled in favor of state officials who asked justices to lift an injunction against the state’s 6-week abortion ban.

The majority said that abortion is not a fundamental right under the Iowa Constitution and thus state officials only have to show a rational basis for the statute.

“We conclude that the fetal heartbeat statute is rationally related to the state’s legitimate interest in protecting unborn life,” Justice Matthew McDermott wrote for the majority.

The law bans most abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, with exceptions for rape, incest, and danger to the life of the mother.

The Iowa Legislature passed the law during a 2023 special session called by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds to enact legislation on abortion and unborn children.

Planned Parenthood and other groups filed for an emergency injunction, arguing the law violated women’s constitutional rights. Read more

- Lord, we know that abortion is not in the Constitution. We pray for an awakening among those who have believed the lie, that they will begin to see the truth. Once again, we ask for repentance.

- “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.” (Acts 17:30)

5. Fight Nearly Breaks Out At Hearing As CA Aims To Prohibit Schools From Notifying Parents About Child’s Sexuality- Daily Caller

A debate over a California bill to ban school boards from enacting policies forcing employees to notify parents about their child’s sexuality and “gender identity” erupted Thursday.

Republican Assemblyman Bill Essayli made a statement that “set off” Democrat Corey Jackson, Ashley Zavala of KCRA News reported.

Essayli reportedly compared Democratic leadership to an “oligarchy” and “the communist party” of California.

Assembly Bill 1955, the “Support Academic Futures and Educators for Today’s Youth Act,” is currently on its way to Democratic Gov, Gavin Newsom’s desk.

The bill would “prohibit school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and the state special schools, and a member of the governing board or body of those educational entities” from implementing or enforcing any rule that requires a contractor or employee to notify someone about a student’s “sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression” without the student’s consentRead more

- Lord, we understand why there was nearly a fight over a terrible rule that deletes the parents’ ability to learn of students’ decisions. Our children are in extreme danger from these policies, so we bind every policy that promotes falsehoods over truth.

- “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27)

6. SCOTUS Rules In Favor Of Oregon City’s Ban On Homeless Encampments – Daily Wire

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on Friday that an Oregon city’s law restricting camping on public property does not violate the Constitution’s prohibition against enacting cruel and unusual punishments under the Eighth Amendment.

Writing for the majority, Justice Neil Gorsuch said that the courts did not have the right to strike down laws enacted by the city of Grants Pass in response to the homelessness crisis. Gorsuch was joined by Justices Brett Kavanaugh, John Roberts, Samuel Alito, and Amy Coney Barrett, with Clarence Thomas writing a concurring opinion.

“The Constitution’s Eighth Amendment serves many important functions, but it does not authorize federal judges to wrest those rights and responsibilities from the American people and in their place dictate this Nation’s homelessness policy,” Gorsuch wrote.

Previously, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Grants Pass could not enforce its restrictions on sleeping on public property if the number of publicly available beds for the homeless was less than the number of homeless estimated in the area. The city’s laws, including fines of $295 for sleeping on public property, were challenged under the Eighth Amendment on behalf of a group of homeless people in the area. Read more

- Lord, the problem of homelessness is rampant across the country. We ask for wisdom for all city leaders to address this problem, realizing that many of those on the streets may need mental health services, not just housing. We thank You that the ruling will keep the property values of this Oregon city strong despite the homelessness issue.

- “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” (James 3:17)

Supreme Court Rebuffs Steve Bannon's Attempt to Avoid Prison
The Supreme Court has turned away Steve Bannon’s bid to avoid prison as his appeal is decided by the courts.
The justices said they were denying Mr. Bannon’s application for release pending appeal.
Chief Justice John Roberts had received the application and referred the matter to the full court.
Justices provided no comment on the June 28 decision.
In 2022, a jury convicted Mr. Bannon, a former adviser to then-President Donald Trump, of contempt of Congress.
He was sentenced to four months in prison.
Mr. Bannon has said he was acting on advice of counsel when he declined to comply with subpoenas issued by a U.S. House of Representatives committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. (Epoch Times) Read more here.
- Lord, we ask for Your justice for Mr. Bannon. When so many Democrats also ignored Congressional subpoenas and faced no penalties, the perception of a "two-tiered" system of justice in our nation is real. We pray that You would cancel Mr. Bannon's prison term, and grant him freedom.

- "For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him."         (Isaiah 30:18b)

Over 51 million people tuned into the June 27 television debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, according to Nielsen Fast National data as cited by host CNN (as of 5 p.m. ET on June 28).

While CNN hosted the debate, it was also simulcast across 22 networks and streamed online.

Of the 51.3 million TV viewers, 9.5 million tuned in on CNN’s main channel; 9.3 million on Fox News; 9.2 million on ABC News; and 4.1 million on MSNBC, according to CNN.

There were 3.4 million viewers between the ages of 25 and 54 who saw it on CNN’s main channel, according to the network.

The next scheduled debate between President Biden and former President Trump will be on Sept. 10 on ABC News, moderated by anchors David Muir and Linsey Davis.

A vice presidential debate between Ms. Harris and former President Trump’s running mate—who may be announced at the GOP convention (July 15 to July 18)—is expected on July 23 or Aug. 13.

President Biden’s campaign has agreed for CBS to host it on either date, while the Trump campaign has accepted an invite for one hosted by Fox News, on July 23 or Aug. 13. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father God, these facts speak for themselves. Last week's presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump was truly an historic occasion for our nation; and truth was released over the airwaves. We pray now that Your will for this election will continue to be released during the remaining two debates. Holy God, let freedom ring across our land! In Your Name, amen and amen!

Top Hollywood donors threaten to stop giving to Dems if Biden not replaced as candidate: report

High-profile Hollywood donors said they’ll not be giving any more money to the Democratic Party if President Biden doesn’t end his re-election bid, Variety reported

The Friday story cited several Hollywood insiders who noted that, following Biden’s debate performance on Thursday, major liberal donors have become disillusioned with the former president and want someone else at the top of the ticket.

"It’s just really hard to see how we keep supporting him. He needs to dig deep about whether he can in good conscience be our nominee," Hannah Linkenhoker, an advisor to several of these donors, told the outlet.

The Hollywood honchos’ reported flip on Biden reflects the general shift in Democratic Party supporters and even liberal pundits that occurred following Biden’s highly criticized debate performance against former President Trump on Thursday.

The debate sparked panic among Democratic strategists and commentators, some of whom are now calling for Biden to be replaced as the Democratic presidential nominee.

An anonymous Hollywood donor told the entertainment outlet that in his network, many people are declaring that they’ll be withholding donations unless Biden is moved aside.

"With all the text chains I’m on, people are basically like, ‘If he doesn’t drop out, we’re not giving any more money to Democrats or the Democratic Party.’ It’s like super intense," he said.

Another industry person, who Variety described as being "plugged in at the highest level of Hollywood fundraising," was quoted as saying, "There is a sense that the money dried up last night about 10 minutes into the debate."

"We need a champion who can properly hold Trump accountable and articulate what’s going on and be crisp on this issue above all else," Linkenhoker added, before noting there’s serious doubt among her clients that Biden is this guy. (Msn.com) Read more here.

- Father, this man is tragic but the situation is an answer to prayers that have come before You, asking for this administration to crumble.  We see it beginning with the withdrawal of funding and support out of Hollywood.  We thank You and we also ask for Joe Biden to be given the grace to step aside peaceably rather than fighting to hold on to his position.  We also pray for him to repent and get right with You before he meets You.  We pray for the entire Democratic agenda to come to a screeching halt and be replaced with a righteous agenda to redeem our covenant nation, in Jesus' name, amen.

- "Like a roaring lion and a charging bear Is a wicked ruler over poor people.  A ruler who lacks understanding is a great oppressor, But he who hates covetousness will prolong his days."  (Proverbs 28:15-16)
And Now . . . Lion of Judah: ROAR!!!!
"The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

Battle of the Somme Begins

At 7:30 a.m. on July 1, 1916, the British launch a massive offensive against German forces in the Somme River region of France. During the preceding week, 250,000 Allied shells had pounded German positions near the Somme, and 100,000 British soldiers poured out of their trenches and into no-man’s-land on July 1, expecting to find the way cleared for them.

However, scores of heavy German machine guns had survived the artillery onslaught, and the infantry were massacred. By the end of the day, 20,000 British soldiers were dead and 40,000 wounded. It was the single heaviest day of casualties in British military history. The disastrous Battle of the Somme stretched on for more than four months, with the Allies advancing a total of just five miles.

When World War I broke out in August 1914, great throngs of British men lined up to enlist in the war effort. At the time, it was generally thought that the war would be over within six months. However, by the end of 1914 well over a million soldiers of various nationalities had been killed on the battlefields of Europe, and a final victory was not in sight for either the Allies or the Central Powers. On the Western Front—the battle line that stretched across northern France and Belgium—the combatants had settled down in the trenches for a terrible war of attrition. Maimed and shell-shocked troops returning to Britain with tales of machine guns, artillery barrages, and poison gas seriously dampened the enthusiasm of potential new volunteers. Read More

Oklahoma Will Require Bibles in Public School Classrooms
The Bible is heading back to the classroom in the Sooner State. Oklahoma officials announced Thursday the state is requiring a copy of the Bible to be in every public school classroom, beginning immediately, according to The Oklahoman. “Adherence to this mandate is compulsory,” said Ryan Walters, superintendent of Oklahoma state schools. “Further instructions for monitoring and reporting on this implementation for the 2024/25 school year will be forthcoming. Immediate and strict compliance is expected.” During a press conference, Walters described the Bible as a “necessary historical document to teach our kids about the history of this country, to have a complete understanding of Western civilization [and] to have an understanding of the basis of our legal system.” He went on to say the Holy Book is “one of the most foundational documents used for the Constitution and the birth of our country.”

While Walters did not state where — or how prominently — the Bibles must be displayed, he has ordered the Scriptures be present in classrooms in grades five through 12. (FaithWire) Read more

- Abba, we REJOICE in the wonderful news that the Bible must be displayed within every 5th-12th grade classroom across the State of Oklahoma! Bless State Superintendent Ryan Walters with a double-portion of blessing for honoring You within the educational system. We declare that the next generation will THIRST for God's Word as they learn foundational truths from the Bible that have shaped America's legal system and the Constitution. We lift all PRAISE and GLORY to You for placing Christians in high places of authority to stand boldly for Christ and His Word! In the powerful and glorious Name of Yeshua we pray, Amen and Amen.

Scripture: They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 7:14

Lyrics:
Have you been to Jesus
For the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless?
Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Are you walking daily

By the Savior’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain

When the Bridegroom cometh
Will your robes be white?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for the mansions bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Refrain

Lay aside the garments
That are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb!

Refrain
