UN agency's employees allegedly participated in attack on Israel, State Dept pauses funding
|
|
The United Nations agency responsible for humanitarian aid to Palestinian refugees has terminated the contracts of "several" of its employees after Israel shared evidence that they participated in the October 7 terrorist attacks.
The commissioner-general of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East announced Friday that tUNRWA was suspending the alleged participants and launching an investigation.
"Any UNRWA employee who was involved in acts of terror will be held accountable, including through criminal prosecution," Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini, said. "UNRWA reiterates its condemnation in the strongest possible terms of the abhorrent attacks of 7 October and calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all Israeli hostages and their safe return to their families."
After the announcement, the State Department said that it would temporarily pause all additional funding to the agency while it investigates and called on the United Nations to probe UNRWA, according to a statement. (Just the News) Read more here.
- Thank You, Lord, that this has been revealed, and a pause implemented. Let not one penny of American funds be given to this agency, and may all who participated be held accountable.
- “And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:13)

Speaker, Several Governors Side With Texas Against Feds in Border Standoff
|
|
The Lone Star State has a posse: Governors and state officials across the nation and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) are among those who have sided with Texas in its standoff with the Biden administration over the southern border.
On Jan. 24, after the Supreme Court ruled that U.S. Border Patrol could remove razor wire placed by Texas authorities along the U.S.–Mexico border in Eagle Pass, Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott posted a statement on X accusing the federal government of having “broken the compact between the United States and the States.”
The governor argued that Texas must now exercise a right to self-defense against a record-breaking influx of illegal immigrants crossing its border under the Biden administration. (The Epoch Times) Read more.
- Lord, we ask that You bring about a solution to the illegal immigration crisis, and the false narratives promoted by the media. The Supreme Court Ruling doesn’t say that Gov Abbott has to remove all the razor wire, it simply gave permission for the Border Patrol to cut it in various instances until the entire case moves through the appeals courts.
- “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.” (Proverbs 12:22)

|
|
Three U.S. service members were killed and 25 others were injured in a drone attack on an outpost in northeast Jordan near the Syrian border, U.S. Central Command confirmed on Sunday.
"On Jan. 28, three U.S. service members were killed and 25 injured from a one-way attack UAS that impacted at a base in northeast Jordan, near the Syria border. As a matter of respect for the families and in accordance with DoD policy, the identities of the servicemembers will be withheld until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified," CENTCOM said in a statement.
"Updates will be provided as they become available," the statement added. (Fox News) Read more here.
- Father, we pray for the families of these soldiers, for Your comfort and peace. But we also ask that the U.S. response to this egregious situation be one with Your wisdom and strength. Let nothing be done outside of Your timeline in Jesus' Name, Amen.

1. PA spox says Ramallah prepared to hand over power to Hamas - JNS
The Western-backed Palestinian Authority is prepared to hand over the reins to the Hamas terrorist organization after the war in Gaza ends, P.A. chief Mahmoud Abbas’s spokesman told Al Arabiya over the weekend.
Once Israel’s ground operation against Hamas concludes, Ramallah is “prepared to hold general elections, and if Hamas wins, the president will hand over the [Palestinian] Authority,” P.A. spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh told the Saudi state-owned television outlet on Saturday.
Hamas’s popularity has surged in the wake of its massacre of some 1,200 people during its Oct. 7 attacks in the northwestern Negev. According to recent polls, most Palestinians believe that Hamas is “the most deserving of representing and leading the Palestinian people today.” (Read more)

3. ICJ tells Israel to ‘prevent genocide’ in Gaza, rejects ordering immediate ceasefire - Times of Israel
The International Court of Justice ruled on Friday that at least some of Israel’s actions in the Gaza Strip during the ongoing war against Hamas could fall within the terms of the Genocide Convention and said it must therefore take a series of preventative measures.
The decision, made 15-2, that there is “plausibility” to South Africa’s claims that Palestinians require protection from genocide, is damaging to Israel.
However, the court did not take the action most desired by South Africa and feared by Israel — that of ordering an immediate, unilateral ceasefire which would have stymied the war effort and indicated that the court believes genocide is actively taking place.

4. Netanyahu: Unless We Destroy ‘New Nazis’ of Hamas, Next Massacre Is a Matter of Time - Algemeiner
i24 News – In an address to the nation on Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu charged that South Africa took Israel to the Hague “at the behest of the new Nazis” of Hamas. The leader condemned the fact the “ludicrous” accusation got a hearing at the International Court of Justice.
Netanyahu held aloft an Arabic copy of Mein Kampf, the notorious autobiography by Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, as he condemned the indoctrination of Palestinians to the genocidal hatred of the Jews that erupted on October 7, the worst antisemitic massacre since the Holocaust. (Read more)

5. France stops funding UN organization over participation in Oct. 7th crimes - World Israel News
On Sunday, France and Japan joined 9 other countries that suspended their funding for UNRWA over allegations that 12 members of its staff took active involvement in the October 7th massacre, i24 reports.
The French Foreign Ministry announced, “France has not planned a new payment for the first half of 2024 and will decide when the time comes on the action to take together with the United Nations and the main donors.”
They added that the allegations were “exceptionally serious.”
On Friday, 9 countries said they would suspend their funding for the United Nations Relief Workers Agency for Palestine when it came to light that UNRWA workers not only praised the Hamas atrocities on a private Telegram group but may have participated in the actual massacres that left 1,200 people dead and 250 as hostages in Gaza. 1. MIT strategized with White House to kill bill with more scrutiny on foreign funding: FOIA – Just The News
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sally Kornbluth is the lone university president who has not resigned among three who told a congressional committee last month that calling for Jewish genocide does not inherently violate campus conduct codes.
That may not last, given the revelation that MIT's D.C. director worked with the White House nearly three years ago to ensure that high-dollar foreign donations to universities – including from countries that seek Israel's eradication or marginalization – wouldn't be subject to heightened federal scrutiny.
Federal watchdog Protect the Public's Trust obtained communications between MIT's David Goldston, a Capitol Hill veteran who served as House Science Committee chief of staff 20 years ago, and Office of Science and Technology Policy leaders from 2021 through a Freedom of Information Act request, and shared them with Just the News.
The emails show them strategizing over several months to remove a provision from the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act that would task the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS), an interagency group led by the Treasury Department, with reviewing foreign gifts to and contracts with universities of $1 million and up for national security threats. (Read more)
- Father, the collusion that is evident within the government is horrific. We thank You that this has been revealed. We pray that all foreign influence in our colleges and universities will be removed, and a better system be implemented. We bind greed in the mighty Name of Jesus and ask that You bring repentance in a move of Your Holy Spirit.

2. Missouri Aluminum Plant, Saved by Trump’s Tariffs After Closing Under Obama, to Shut Down Again - Breitbart
A southeast Missouri aluminum plant, saved in 2018 by former President Donald Trump’s tariffs on aluminum imports, after having closed in 2016 under former President Obama, is now set to shut down under President Joe Biden.
This week, executives at Magnitude 7 Metals (Mag7) in New Madrid County, Missouri announced that the aluminum plant will again close its doors, with about 500 American workers set to be laid off by the end of the month. “Pray for us man. [Mag7] was a good job, I just hate how it folded how it did,” employee Chavis Goodwin told Heartland News. “… it’s a lot of people that depended on this job and a lot of families that are about to be hurt behind this.”
Mag7 is just one of only a handful of remaining aluminum plants in the United States thanks to job-killing free trade policy for decades that has wiped out the industry in the nation’s heartland.
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) is calling on Biden to intervene and save the aluminum plant from closure by invoking the Defense Production Act of 1950. Hawley cites the increasing gutting of the nation’s domestic aluminum supply chains. “Not only is this development a devastating blow to working families and good-paying union jobs in my state, but it directly threatens the national economic security of the United States.” (Read more)
|
|
- Father, we humbly ask for a President who will see the problems faced by our industries and act to protect them. As this plant closes, we pray for the families of those affected, that You would provide all that they need.
- “And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:4)

3. Trump Joins Motion To Dismiss Racketeering Case, Disqualify Fani Willis Over Alleged Misconduct – Daily Caller
Former President Donald Trump moved Thursday to adopt a co-defendant’s motion to dismiss the Georgia racketeering case and disqualify District Attorney Fani Willis for alleged misconduct.
Co-defendant Michael Roman claimed in a Jan. 8 motion that Willis awarded a “lucrative” contract to her alleged lover, special prosecutor Nathan Wade, that she benefited from when he took her on vacations using funds earned from his position. Trump’s attorneys noted in the filing Thursday to adopt Roman’s motion that Willis’ speech given at Big Bethel AME Church following the allegations was a “glaring, flagrant, and calculated effort to foment racial bias into this case.”
“The awesome power to prosecute ought never to be manipulated for personal or political profit,” the motion states. “In addition to the extensive misconduct alleged in Roman’s motion, the DA did just that in her speech by wrongfully inserting racial animus into this case to publicly denounce and rebuke the defendants, and to defend her personal and political reputation against the numerous and diverse allegations Roman made in his court filing.” (Read more)
- Lord, we pray that Ms. Willis be held accountable for her political bias and the actions she has taken that are of a personal nature. We ask that this situation drive her to her knees in repentance, along with her alleged lover.

4. Energy developer delivers major blow to blue state's climate agenda by canceling offshore wind contracts - Fox News
Multinational energy developer Orsted unexpectedly withdrew from agreements with the State of Maryland to develop two offshore wind projects, citing worsening economic conditions.
Orsted announced that it had pulled out of orders which the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) issued years ago greenlighting the so-called Skipjack Wind 1 and Skipjack Wind 2 projects, and selecting the projects for a 20-year Offshore Renewable Energy Credit (OREC). Maryland Democrats repeatedly pointed to the Skipjack Wind development as a key part of the state's aggressive decarbonization agenda.
"Today’s announcement affirms our commitment to developing value creating projects and represents an opportunity to reposition Skipjack Wind, located in a strategically valuable federal lease area and with a state that is highly supportive of offshore wind, for future offtake opportunities," David Hardy, Orsted's group executive vice president and CEO of its Americas division, said Thursday in a statement.
"As we explore the best path forward for Skipjack Wind, we anticipate several opportunities and will evaluate each as it becomes available," he continued. (Read more)
- Lord, the Biden administration and Democrats continue to push their “climate agenda” regardless of the consequences to either the citizens or the industries. We ask You to stop the forward momentum of these ‘green’ plans and bring about wisdom and truth.
- “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” (Proverbs 19:21)

5. WHO Seeks Partnership with Radical Pro-Abortion Group - The Washington Stand
The World Health Organization is considering partnering with a radical pro-abortion group in the United States.
In a December 2023 executive board meeting, the secretariat of WHO proposed that the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) be admitted into official relations with the organization. Such a partnership includes collaboration between WHO and CRR on agreed objectives and activities for a three-year period to uphold WHO’s mission to “contribute significantly to the advancement of public health.”
Yet CRR is one of the most influential pro-abortion organizations in the United States. The George Soros-funded advocacy group repeatedly sues to stop or overturn pro-life laws in the United States and abroad and is known for its pro bono work to that effect. In its 2018 annual report, CRR took significant credit for Ireland’s referendum legalizing abortion.
In a letter to WHO Executive Board members dated January 22, multiple American pro-life organizations, including Family Research Council, urged the organization to oppose giving CRR official status due to its efforts to “manipulate international cooperation to promote abortion as a human right.” (The Washington Stand) Read more here.
- Lord, it seems as though no one is listening, that they are bent on murdering the innocent. We pray that You will stop the WHO from giving this organization official status, but we also pray for a move of Your Spirit across the world. Change hearts, O God, bring repentance and truth.
- “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.” (Proverbs 6:16)

6. GOP Sen. John Barrasso announces death of wife, Bobbi – Just The News
Wyoming Republican Sen. John Barrasso on Thursday confirmed that his wife, Bobbi, died after battling brain cancer.
"After a courageous battle with cancer, Bobbi is now at peace and at home with the Lord," the senator said in a statement. "In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Bobbi was a leader, fierce advocate for Wyoming, and friend to everyone she met. We miss her dearly. On behalf of our entire family, we thank everyone for your prayers and continued support as we remember her and grieve together."
She was 70 at the time of her death, according to the New York Post. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 but recovered and helped to found the Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative.
The pair married in 2008. (Read more)
- Lord, we pray for Sen Barrasso and his family at this difficult time. Be with them, touch their hearts and minds to bring comfort and truth.
- “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4)

Conservatives blast bipartisan tax deal for allowing illegal immigrants to claim Child Tax Credit
|
|
|
Conservatives are advocating for changing the Child Tax Credit expansion in the bipartisan tax deal that advanced out of the House Ways and Means Committee, seeking a provision that would prohibit illegal immigrants from claiming the tax benefit.
This legislation, as it stands, would increase the Child Tax Credit from $2,000 to $3,600 but it continues the existing policy of permitting illegal immigrants who file tax returns with tax identification numbers to collect the Child Tax Credit for their children.
The expansion is part of the Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., tax legislation that is moving through Congress after being passed by the House Ways and Means Committee last week.
“The American people are telling us that they’re sick of this wide-open border, and the bill’s eligibility expansion just increases rate and speed at which the tax dollars of hard-working Americans Citizens are going to individuals here illegally,” said Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus in a statement to Just the News on Thursday. (Just the News) Read more here.
- Lord, the government benefits being issued to those who have come illegally is part of the reason we have a border crisis. We pray that this would stop.
- “Precious treasure and oil are in a wise man's dwelling, but a foolish man devours it.” (Proverbs 21:20)

Trump Ally Peter Navarro Sentenced To Prison After Biden DOJ’s Unprecedented Move
|
|
|
Peter Navarro, a former trade advisor to former President Donald Trump, was sentenced Thursday to four months in jail for contempt of Congress after defying a Jan. 6 subpoena.
Navarro was sentenced to four months in jail and ordered to pay a fine of $9,500.00, according to breaking reports.
Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse prior to his sentencing, Navarro said his case “has turned out to be a very important, landmark constitutional case that is going to resolve important issues about the constitutional separation of powers as well as the integrity, efficiency, of presidents and decision making.”
U.S. District Judge Amit P. Mehta said the phrase “executive privilege” is not a “magical incantation” or a “get out of jail free card” to defy a subpoena, according to NBC News.
“What I find disappointing is that in all of this, even today, there’s little acknowledgement of what your obligation is as an American – to cooperate with Congress, to provide them with information that they’re seeking,” Mehta reportedly said. “Fine, you think it’s a political hatchet job, it’s domestic terrorists running the committee. They had a job to do and you made it harder. It’s really that simple.” (Daily Caller) Read more here.
- Father, we pray that Your justice will prevail over this travesty. Hunter Biden also defied a Congressional subpoena so this political situation is sad. We ask that You realign the priorities of the DOJ and all judges to bring fairness and truth.
- “When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous but terror to evildoers.” (Proverbs 21:15)

Feds Forced To Send Reinforcements To America’s Capital As Rising Crime Devastates City
|
|
|
The Justice Department announced Friday that it is sending more federal resources to Washington, D.C. to curb the growing spike of gun crime in the nation’s capital.
The district saw a 35% increase in homicides in 2023 compared to 2022, going from 203 to 274, while robberies went up by 67%, at 3,470 last year, according to Metropolitan Police Department data. As a result, the department said Friday that it would be sending more federal agents, analysts, federal prosecutors and other resources to investigate and prosecute carjackings and gun crimes, according to a press release.
“We saw an encouraging decline in violent crime in many parts of the country, but there is much more work to do, including here in the District of Columbia,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said. “This surge in law enforcement resources will build on the Department’s efforts to target the individuals and organizations that are driving violent crime in the nation’s capital. The Justice Department will not rest until every community in our country is safe from the scourge of violent crime.”
Carjackings went up for the sixth year in a row to 959 in 2023 and out of 182 individuals who were charged with armed carjacking, 139 of them were juveniles and out of the 43 adults, 31 were under the age of 24 D.C. U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, said Thursday at the Police Executive Research Forum conference, according to Axios. (Daily Caller) Read more.
- Father, this crime trend in DC - and in our major cities – is causing danger to all Americans. We need Your Spirit of repentance, not just for the criminal themselves, but for our leadership that often fails to see the real issue.
- “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

Marines Can't Count on Navy Ships to Carry Them to Global Emergencies, One of the Service's Top Generals Says
|
|
|
The Navy's amphibious ships are not ready to deploy Marines around the world on time, a problem that has no short-term fix and degrades America's ability to deter adversaries and reassure allies at a time when it is needed most, according to one of the Marine Corps' top generals.
"There's a saying that wars are a come-as-you-are game," Lt. Gen. Karsten Heckl, the commanding general of Marine Corps Combat Development Command and deputy commandant for combat development and integration -- the Marine who heads the service's modernization efforts, told Military.com on Thursday. "Well, this is where we are. And there is simply no immediate fix."
The readiness issue comes down to several factors, including overuse of amphibious ships during the last 20-plus years of war, according to Heckl, who said that maintenance took a back seat to the intense operational tempo that helped define the Global War on Terror. Now, according to the general, the Navy and its Marine passengers are reaping the consequences of those decisions, just as conflict in the Middle East boils over once again.
- Father, the US Military is floundering in all areas, from the lack of maintenance on ships to the propagation of foolish ideologies. We beseech You for a leader who will remove the pattern of destruction within the military and bring it back to a place where it can protect our nation with strength.
- “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!” (1 Chronicles 16:11)

NASA's engineering marvel takes final flight on Mars
|
|
WASHINGTON – What was widely acclaimed to be the "Wright Brothers moment" of space exploration has come to an end with NASA stating that its Ingenuity Mars Helicopter is no longer capable of flight.
NASA Administrator Bill Nelson made the unexpected announcement on Thursday and said at least one of the craft’s rotors is believed to have struck the ground during a communications outage.
Ingenuity and its counterpart, the Perseverance rover, launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, in 2020 and landed less than a year later on the Red Planet.
Originally, the space agency only planned for five test flights over about a month but ended up performing 72 flights over nearly three years.
"That remarkable helicopter flew higher and farther than we ever imagined and helped NASA do what we do best – make the impossible, possible. Through missions like Ingenuity, NASA is paving the way for future flight in our solar system and smarter, safer human exploration to Mars and beyond," said Nelson. Read More

'Answer to Prayer' Adoption Comes After Pastor Breaks World Record with 153 Marathons
|
|
For pastor and social media influencer Malachi O'Brien, the adoption of his sixth child is a full-circle moment. Adopted at the age of three by his aunt and uncle, O'Brien fully understands the unique experience of going from an orphan to being placed into a loving home. "[Adoption] is the greatest gift of God in our lives," he told CBN News. "It is a win, win, win." According to the Adoption Network, only 2-4% of American families have adopted, while one-third have considered it. O'Brien and his wife, Rachel, knew early in their marriage they would one day adopt, but how that door opened for them was a matter of being in the right place, at the right time. "What led to our first child we adopted is it was actually a family from our church, a single (foster) mom. And one day she says, 'Can you guys watch him for me? I can't handle him. I need to get a break.' And we said, 'Sure we will watch him.' And at the end of that weekend, she said, 'I am not coming back to get him.'" The foster mom's actions shocked the young couple. "[The son] had been in eight homes in his nine years of living and so we knew instantly we were not going to put him back in that and we got emergency placement. And from that moment we said, 'We are going to adopt this kid,'" O'Brien explained.
But the adoptions didn't end there. This week the 40-year-old and his wife adopted their newest son, a one-year-old they have lovingly nicknamed JJ. He told CBN News the Lord spoke to his wife of 22 years that they would be adopting another child adding to their family of four biological children and one adopted son. "Sure enough, in 24 hours we get a call and we say 'yes'," O'Brien recalled. In a matter of 36 hours, the family of seven prepared to welcome a seven-month-old. That meant the couple would be bringing home a baby for the first time in 10 years. "My wife is the real champion in this," he quipped. "Our oldest is 20...we are literally starting over. It is a learning curve." O'Brien is overjoyed about officially being a family of eight and shares they have plans to continue to grow. "It was an answer to prayer that we got chosen to adopt him. An absolute answer to much prayer and fasting," he shared of the experience on X. (CBN) Read More
- Abba, we ask blessings for this couple and all Christian families who've chosen to adopt. We pray You would continue to provide for children in need of a loving household and stable life. May adopters homes be filled with Your JOY, LOVE and PEACE because of their obedience to You. We ask Your presence to reign in each adoptee home with abundant provision for every child. In Jesus mighty Name-Amen

How Happy Every Child of Grace
Listen to the song: CLICK HERE
Scripture: Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Philippians 4:4
Words:
How happy every child of grace,
Who knows his sins forgiven!
This earth, he cries, is not my place,
I seek my place in Heaven—
A country far from mortal sight
which yet by faith I see.
The land of rest, the saints delight
The heaven prepared for me.
O what a blessed hope is ours
While here on earth we stay,
We more than taste the heavenly powers
and antedate that day.
We feel the resurrection near,
Our life in Christ concealed.
And with his glorious presence here,
our earthen vessels filled.
and let our ransomed spirits go,
To grasp the God we seek,
in rapturous awe on Him to gaze,
who bought the sight for me,
And shout and wonder at His grace
throughout eternity!
