49 States Under Weather Alerts as Powerful Winter System Crosses US
|
|
Forty-nine U.S. states were under various weather alerts as a strong winter storm moves quickly throughout the country, coming after a winter storm brought significant snowfall across parts of the East Coast over the weekend. “Significant winter storms will track across the Lower 48 through this week,” the National Weather Service said in a bulletin issued on Jan. 8.
Blizzard conditions are occurring across the Midwest and Plains states, and winter storm warnings and advisories have been issued for areas in Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, and Ohio.
The storm, described as a “strong surface cyclone,” was intensifying across the Texas and Oklahoma panhandle regions on Jan. 8, the agency stated, noting that the system will deepen further as it reaches Missouri on Jan. 9, before “bottoming out in pressure across the Lower Great Lakes early Wednesday.”
Separately, winter storm advisories were issued for parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, and California. The National Weather Service posted wind advisories and high wind warnings throughout the southern and eastern states. The agency also noted that a strong winter storm may affect the Pacific Northwest, some western states, and the Cascade, Olympic, and Rocky Mountain areas.
“Strong winds and high-level snows will lead to considerate impacts to most of the mountain passes in the Cascades eventually spreading into the Northern Rockies of Idaho and western Montana,” the agency stated. “Strong winds with blowing snows and high snow rates are likely to result in Blizzard conditions with much of the Cascade [and] Olympic Ranges.”
More than a foot of snow is possible in some areas, it noted. The storm will likely affect the northern Rocky Mountains “well into Tuesday,” according to the agency. “Very cold air is expected behind the front by Tuesday and eventually Wednesday as the cold front surges through the northern Rockies, by Wednesday temperatures will be 10–25 degrees below normal for large portions of the West including further south into California, Utah, Arizona,” the agency stated.

|
Tornadoes Also Possible
In the southern United States, forecasters warn that the storm currently looming for the Midwest and Plains will clash with warmer air from the Gulf of Mexico, sparking the risk of thunderstorms and severe weather across the Gulf states. It means that there could be multiple tornadoes, especially along the coastlines of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, according to AccuWeather.
“A piece of robust energy will bring disruptive thunderstorms that can produce damaging winds, hail, and tornadoes to the Gulf Coast states. An inflow of moisture along the Gulf of Mexico from eastern Texas and southern Louisiana will aid in the development of thunderstorms across the region,” AccuWeather forecaster Alexander Duffus said in a recent report.
He noted that the system will “bring the potential for damaging winds, hail, and a strong tornado overnight in areas like New Orleans, Louisiana.”
“It is vital that people in southern Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama have methods to receive warnings on Monday night into Tuesday morning when storms are projected to ramp up,” Mr. Duffus said. (Read more here)

- Abba, there is much chaos and damage being done by a myriad of weather fronts across our nation. You spoke to the winds and the sea to be calm and they obeyed you. You have given that same authority to us and in the name of Jesus, we speak PEACE, PEACE, PEACE over all the strong wind, rain and snow storms. We decree and declare that what the enemy is intending for evil in our nation, you will bring to good through your intercessors rising up in their God given authority and speaking your words into these strong storms. We say that the synergy creating intensity in these systems be broken by the power of your words in our mouths, in Jesus' name.
We ask this in the name Jehovah Shalom, The Lord our Peace.
- "The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve
to have you come under my roof.
But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
For I am a man under authority, with soldiers under me.
I tell this one, 'Go,' and he goes,; and that one, 'Come,'
and he comes. I say to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said
to those following him, "Truly I tell you, I have not
found anyone in Israel with such great faith..."

Trump Files Motion to Dismiss Georgia Election Case, Argues He Has Immunity
|
|
The former commander-in-chief argued Monday that he is immune to prosecution for actions he took while president.
|
|
Former President Donald Trump on Jan. 8 filed several motions to dismiss his election case in Fulton County, Georgia, where he and more than a dozen others face state charges over their challenge of the 2020 election results.
The former president’s legal team argued in one filing that as president, he was legally entitled to immunity from prosecution. The arguments are similar to ones he made in a separate case in Washington, where he was indicted by special counsel Jack Smith on federal charges relating to his activity after the 2020 election.
His lawyers have argued that he was working in his official capacity as president when he moved to investigate what he described as election fraud following the election.
Story continues below advertisement
“The indictment in this case charges President Trump for acts that lie at the heart of his official responsibilities as President,“ President Trump’s lawyers wrote in the Georgia case. ”The indictment is barred by presidential immunity and should be dismissed with prejudice.”
The “historical practice over 234 years” in the United States has reaffirmed that the capacity to charge a current or former president “does not exist,” his legal team, led by attorney Steve Sadow, argued. “Such immunity is particularly appropriate for the President because the Presidency involves especially sensitive duties, requires bold and unhesitating action, and would be crippled by the threat of politically motivated prosecutions,” they wrote.
Any communication between the former president and state officials in connection to the 2020 election fell within his “official duties” as president, they added.
“Making statements to the public on matters of national concern—especially matters involving core federal interests, such as the administration of a federal election—lies in the heartland of the President’s historic role and responsibility,” his attorneys wrote.
His lawyers argued in separate motions that the case brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, a Democrat, should be dismissed on due process administrative grounds and that it should be scrapped based on the Constitution’s 5th Amendment, which includes a clause that a defendant cannot be charged twice with the same crime.
“President Trump has filed three persuasive, meritorious pretrial motions seeking a complete dismissal of the indictment and thus an end to the Fulton County District Attorney’s politically-based prosecution,” Mr. Sadow told Atlanta News First. “Also still pending is President Trump’s First Amendment as-applied challenge which seeks the same relief.”
The Fulton County district attorney’s office has claimed that President Trump’s post-2020 efforts in Georgia were tantamount to a pressure campaign against various state officials to overturn the election in the state. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Abba, the enemies' attacks on your son, Donald, continue in the effort to stop his running for President. We thank you that you have given him an immense amount of patience, stamina and obedience to weather the storm that has been his life for over 9 years. Father God, we say "Enough"! Holy Spirit, we ask you to move in supernatural power bringing each of these charges to nothing by revealing the demonic lies, practices and unholy intentions that are the underpinnings of each of these indictments. We ask you to unmask those from both parties who are secretly stoking these fires with continued lies, baseless personal attacks and innuendo. Silence each and every voice that is speaking words that are not your words about your son. Reveal each who is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Let each reap what they have sown.
We ask this in the name El Gibhor, Mighty God who will accomplish the destruction of God's enemies.
- "According to what they had done,
so will he repay.
wrath to his enemies and retribution
to his foes; he will repay
the islands their due."

GOP Senators Ask Conference Chair John Barrasso to Call a Meeting on Securing the Border
|
|
Several Republican senators, including Marco Rubio (FL), Ted Cruz (TX), and Lindsey Graham (SC), have asked Conference Chair Sen. John Barrasso (R- WY) to call a meeting on securing the border, which Democrats refuse to seal.
The letter, shared on Monday, said that Democrats have been rushing through secret negotiations on border security to keep the southern border open.
Multiple sources familiar with the matter say the letter has been well received by Barrasso, a border hawk whose efforts to seal the border have stood in contrast to his more moderate colleagues in senate leadership.
“We write to request that you call a meeting of the Conference to discuss Senate negotiations on securing the border. Rushed and secret negotiations with Democrats who want an open border and who caused the current crisis will not secure the border,” it said.
“The American public deserves an open and transparent process which cannot occur until the House returns the week of January 8, 2024. Accordingly, we request this Conference be held the week of January 8th, but not before,” the letter continued. (Breitbart) Read more here.

- Abba, we give you praise and glory that Senators, Rubio, Cruz and Graham have asked GOP Conference Chair, Sen John Barrasso, to call a meeting on securing the southern border. Father God, you know better than we do the damage the Biden regime has intentionally done to our nation, trying to give hundreds of thousands of illegals the right to vote, securing their power base in the US.
Lord God, your heart for this nation is NOT that. You created the USA as a light on the hill, the nation who would send out those you called to carry your word to the world. HELP!! Father God, you know what needs to be done, you know the answer to this problem. We ask you to give supernatural vision, wisdom, understanding and courage to our congress to take the authority needed to close our southern border specifically, but all our borders need to be closed to those not welcomed or invited. We ask Holy Spirit to stand behind all our border patrols, protect them and give them awareness and wisdom as they encounter illegals. Father, sovereignly stop the flow of illegals from every country and continent, we need you to come to our aid! We ask this in the name Jehovah Sabaoth, the Host of Heaven's Armies.
- "See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power,
and he rules with a mighty arm.
See, his reward with with him,
and his recompense accompanies him."

1. Hezbollah attacks IDF Northern Command HQ in Safed - JNS
Hezbollah attacked the IDF’s Northern Command headquarters in the Upper Galilee city of Safed with several drones on Tuesday.
The military said that there were no casualties or damage from the attack and that the base was functioning as usual following the attack. However, Hebrew media reported minor infrastructure damage to the base.
In a statement, the terrorist group said it was in response to the alleged Israeli assassinations of Radwan Force commando unit commander Jawad al-Tawil in Southern Lebanon and the killing last week of Hamas terror chief Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut.
The IDF said that artillery fired at the source of the attack. (Read more)

A senior Hezbollah commander responsible for dozens of explosive drone attacks on northern Israel in recent months, including an attack Tuesday morning on an Israel Defense Forces base, was killed later Tuesday in an Israeli airstrike in the south of Lebanon.
The spike in violence comes despite efforts by the international community to keep the fighting across Israel’s northern border from escalating into a full-blown conflict.
Ali Hussein Burji was the commander of Hezbollah’s aerial forces in southern Lebanon, responsible for the launching of explosive-laden unmanned aircraft at northern Israel and flying surveillance drones to collect intelligence, according to the IDF. (Read more)

3. Antony Blinken: Claim Israel committing genocide meritless, galling - Israel National News
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a press briefing in Tel Aviv this evening (Tuesday) following his meetings with Israeli leaders.
"We know that for the people affected by the attacks and by the conflict that's followed, time moves differently," Blinken said at the beginning of his remarks. "Immediately before this, I met with the families of hostages who are being held in Gaza and with hostages who have been released. Several of those families I have now met multiple times. For them, every day, every hour, every minute that they're separated from their loved ones is an eternity."
"Time feels different for families in Gaza as well, hundreds of thousands of whom are experiencing acute food insecurity," he said. "Time also feels different for Israelis and Palestinians whose innocent loved ones have been killed. For them, time often falls into before and after. The after, filled with a loss that most of us will never know and cannot fully imagine." (Read more)

4. Stop harming Gaza civilians, Blinken tells Netanyahu as fighting rages in Khan Younis - Times of Israel
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday that Israel must stop causing additional harm to civilians in Gaza, the State Department said.
“The secretary reaffirmed our support for Israel’s right to prevent the terrorist attacks of October 7 from being repeated and stressed the importance of avoiding further civilian harm and protecting civilian infrastructure in Gaza,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement after Blinken met Netanyahu in Tel Aviv.
It appeared to be the first time the Biden administration called on Israel to avoid targeting civilian infrastructure in addition to civilians themselves, as the scope of destruction in Gaza continues to mount. (Read more)

5. IDF Said to Know Where Hamas Leader Is, Won’t Strike Because He’s Surrounded Himself With Israeli Hostages - Algemeiner
Israel is aware of the exact whereabouts of Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’ chief in Gaza, but is refraining from carrying out a military strike because the terror leader has surrounded himself with dozens of hostages as human shields, Israeli media reported on Monday.
Former Israeli military intelligence head Amos Yadlin told Israel’s public radio, Kan, that Sinwar’s location, in the tunnels under Khan Younis in southern Gaza, was known but that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was holding back from taking action because of his use of the hostages as human shields.
This report was further corroborated by Jonathan Schanzer, vice president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies think tank in Washington, DC, who tweeted about consistent reports he’s heard from “informed people.” (Read more)

1: Mexico Wants Biden to Pay $20 Billion to Stop Migrants - Newsweek
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador wants the United States to pay $20 billion to help curb illegal immigration.
The U.S. has experienced a drastic uptick in illegal border crossings in recent months, including 192,000 apprehensions in November on top of 9,600 additional daily migrant encounters during the first three weeks of December. Texas, Florida and New York City have been front and center the past year because of the influx and politicians redirecting them to other areas and states.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, who has called the Biden administration's approach to immigration "an unmitigated disaster," traveled with 64 other House Republicans to the southern border town of Eagle Pass, Texas, on Wednesday to tour what has been a heavily traversed area by migrants. While there, cameras caught migrants traveling through the Rio Grande River to the U.S., just a feet away from the politicians.
Obrador said during a Friday news conference that he requested U.S. authorities to deploy the $20 billion in funds as part of a cooperative plan to help other countries in Latin America as record numbers of migrants are filing through Central America and Mexico to enter the U.S. (Read more)

2. US Navy sailor who gave sensitive military info to China sentenced to over 2 years in prison - Just the News
The Navy sailor received more than $14,000 for transmitting information to a Chinese intelligence official over the course of nearly two years.
The U.S. Navy sailor who pleaded guilty to giving sensitive military information to China in exchange for a bribe was sentenced to more than two years in prison and ordered to pay a $5,500 fine, the Justice Department said.
The court on Monday sentenced Petty Officer Wenheng Zhao, also known as Thomas Zhao, to 27 months in prison after he pleaded guilty in October to one charge of receiving a bribe and another of conspiring with an intelligence official, prosecutors said.
Officials arrested Zhao, a 26-year-old resident of Monterey Park, California, in August. Prosecutors said at the time that Zhao faced up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Zhao gave a Chinese intelligence official "sensitive, non-public information regarding U.S. Navy operational security, military trainings and exercises, and critical infrastructure" and in exchange, he received at least $14,866 between August 2021 and May 2023 in at least 14 different bribe payments, officials said.
"Mr. Zhao betrayed his solemn oath to defend his country and endangered those who serve in the U.S. military," Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen said Monday after Zhao's sentencing. "Today, he is being held to account for those crimes. The Justice Department is committed to combatting the Chinese government’s efforts to undermine our nation’s security and holding accountable those who violate our laws as part of those efforts." 3. BOMBSHELL: 200 Undercover FBI Assets at US Capitol on Jan. 6, Congressman Estimates - Daily Signal
A member of Congress investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, protest at the U.S. Capitol estimates the FBI had 200 undercover assets both inside and outside the building.
“We believe that there were easily 200 FBI undercover assets operating in the crowd, outside the Capitol, embedded into groups that entered the Capitol or provoked entry of the Capitol,” Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La., said.
Higgins appeared on the Tucker Carlson Network for an interview that aired Saturday, the third anniversary of the day now commonly known as J6. He’s among the few elected Republicans still questioning the official media narrative about the day’s events.
“Given the scope of the operation and the number of doors where entry was allowed or even encouraged—and the number of people that were actually outside the Capitol and that entered—we believe 200 [is a] conservative number,” Higgins said of his estimate. (Read more)

4. Nearly Two-Thirds See ‘Invasion’ at U.S.-Mexico Border - Rasmussen
As Congress and President Joe Biden work to negotiate border security legislation, voters overwhelmingly view the situation at America’s southern border as an invasion.
A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports and The National Pulse finds that 65% of Likely U.S. Voters believe it is accurate to describe the current situation with migrants at the border with Mexico as an “invasion” of the United States, including 43% who say such a description is Very Accurate. Thirty-one percent (31%) disagree, including 15% who think it’s Not At All Accurate to call the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border an invasion. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
House Speaker Mike Johnson led a group of Republican congress members visiting the border in Texas last week, pressuring Biden and the Democrat-controlled Senate to agree to a new border security bill. Seventy percent (70%) of voters consider border security a vital national security interest for the United States these days, while 17% disagree and 13% are not sure. (Read more)

6. US Air Strike Foils Rocket Attack on Iraqi Air Base - Newsmax
A U.S. air strike on a rocket launcher late Monday foiled an attack on Ain al-Asad air base, which hosts U.S. and other international forces in western Iraq, two Iraqi army sources said.
Iraqi military sources said a rocket launcher fixed on the back of a small truck had been parked in a rural area about 7 km (4 miles) to the east of the base, with at least two rockets ready to be fired towards Ain al-Asad.
The U.S. air strike destroyed the launcher, an army official said.
U.S.-led coalition officials were not immediately available to comment on the strike.

The National Park Service is retracting a proposal to take down a statue of William Penn at a Philadelphia historical site as part of a renovation that touched off a torrent of criticism over the legacy of the man who founded the province of Pennsylvania
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The National Park Service withdrew a proposal Monday to take down a statue of William Penn at a Philadelphia historical site as part of a renovation that touched off a torrent of criticism over the legacy of the man who founded the province of Pennsylvania.
In a brief statement, Independence National Historical Park said it has withdrawn the proposal it had announced quietly before the weekend about a wider renovation of Welcome Park, located just blocks from the Liberty Bell and the National Constitution Center.
The proposal, it said, was released “prematurely” and hadn't undergone a complete internal review. (Read more)

8. Biden Admin Leaves Nigeria, World’s Most Dangerous Place to Be a Christian, Off Religious Freedom List - Breitbart
The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) immediately criticized Secretary of State Antony Blinken for once again leaving Nigeria off the State Department’s annual list of “Countries of Particular Concern” (CPC) for religious oppression.
In the 2023 edition of its World Watch List, religious freedom group Open Doors estimated that nearly 90 percent of the Christians killed for their faith last year were killed in Nigeria. The Christian aid group International Christian Concern (ICC) identified Nigeria as “the world’s most dangerous place to be a Christian in the world” in 2023.
USCIRF said there was “no justification” for leaving Nigeria and India off the list, especially since the State Department’s own “reporting and statements” suggest both countries should be on it.
The bipartisan USCIRF thought this omission was so egregious that its leaders, Chairman Abraham Cooper and Vice Chair Frederick A. Davie, called for a Congressional inquiry: (Read more)

Pentagon Reveals Reason Defense Secretary Got Surgery
|
|
|
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin underwent surgery in December 2023 for prostate cancer, the U.S. Department of Defense disclosed on Jan. 9.
Doctors from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, identified the cancer through laboratory tests in early December. They decided to perform an operation to treat and cure it. Mr. Austin went to the center on Dec. 22 and underwent a “minimally invasive surgical procedure” to treat and cure prostate cancer, the doctors said. He was under general anesthesia.
Mr. Austin was released the following day.
After experiencing complications including severe abdominal pain, Mr. Austin returned to the hospital on Jan. 1. Doctors diagnosed a urinary tract infection and transferred him to the intensive care unit for close monitoring. Additional evaluation revealed fluid had collected in his abdomen, which affected his small intestines and resulted in a backup of intestinal content. Doctors placed a tube through Mr. Austin’s nose and drained the fluid.
Since then, Mr. Austin has “progressed steadily,” said Dr. John Maddox, trauma medical director, and Dr. Gregory Chesnut, a urology specialist, in a joint statement. The infection has cleared and Mr. Austin is expected to fully recover, “although this can be a slow process,” they said.
Mr. Austin was still hospitalized, in good condition, as of Jan. 9. He has been working, according to military officials.
President Joe Biden did not learn of the cancer diagnosis until Tuesday, John Kirby, a White House spokesman, told reporters in Washington. “Nobody at the White House knew Secretary Austin had prostrate cancer until this morning,” Mr. Kirby said.
Mr. Kirby declined to detail the president’s reaction to the update.
Mr. Austin did not inform the White House of his surgery and did not notify the White House of his second hospitalization until Jan. 4, three days after it began, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
Mr. Austin has said he is responsible for the delay in notification, though the Pentagon has blamed the secretary’s chief of staff being ill. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Father God, we thank You for this answer to prayer . . . that the hidden has now been revealed about the reason for Mr. Austin's absence over the holidays. We ask that measures and policy be now set in place, so that when a member of the cabinet "disappears," action will be taken to secure the working of the executive branch. Amen.

Congress Reacts to Austin's Absence
|
|
|
Some lawmakers say he must be removed, one way or another.
“Secretary Austin went AWOL and failed to inform the president, Congress, or the National Security Council about his extended hospitalization, jeopardizing our national security,” Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) said in a statement. “Our soldiers ... can’t go AWOL like Secretary Austin did without informing their superiors. Secretary Austin must resign or face impeachment!”
Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-Mont.) introduced an impeachment resolution this week, which could lead to Mr. Austin being impeached.
“Secretary Austin and his chief of staff displayed terrible judgement in failing to disclose his hospitalization. One or both of them need to resign for this coverup,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said in a statement.
Some Democrats have also criticized the lack of transparency, though none have yet appeared to offer support for ousting the defense secretary.
The Pentagon did not respond to a request for comment on the resolution.
The review that has been ordered “will help us get to ground truth in a holistic way,” Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder told reporters on Tuesday. “So that we can learn from it importantly, but also ensure that we’re doing better next time. So I think we really need to allow this review to run its course in order to do that.”
Mr. Ryder said he did not know why Mr. Austin decided against disclosing the hospitalization in a more rapid fashion. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

NASA’s Webb Finds Signs of Possible Aurorae on Isolated Brown Dwarf
|
|
Infrared emission from methane suggests atmospheric heating by auroral processes.
Astronomers using NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope have found a brown dwarf (an object more massive than Jupiter but smaller than a star) with infrared emission from methane, likely due to energy in its upper atmosphere. This is an unexpected discovery because the brown dwarf, W1935, is cold and lacks a host star; therefore, there is no obvious source for the upper atmosphere energy. The team speculates that the methane emission may be due to processes generating aurorae.
These findings are being presented at the 243rd meeting of the American Astronomical Society in New Orleans.
To help explain the mystery of the infrared emission from methane, the team turned to our solar system. Methane in emission is a common feature in gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn. The upper-atmosphere heating that powers this emission is linked to aurorae. Read More

Hall, founder of Pulse, a global evangelistic organization, is embarking on a multi-year effort to bring biblical truth to every corner of North Dakota. He recently spoke with CBN Digital about some of the powerful moments of spiritual revival he observed throughout 2023. From the Asbury outpouring to historic mass baptisms, many preachers have felt a spiritual stirring in America, with Hall explaining what he believes is unfolding. “I think we’re in the middle of … a reformation of sorts,” he said. “I think there’s a shift happening. … A lot of the things that we’ve put our hope in for a long time aren’t working, and I think God is using that to draw many, many people to Himself.”
With so many coming to Jesus, Hall said he believes we’re seeing an 'awakening moment' in which a plethora of young people happen to be on the 'front lines.' “There really is revival,” Hall said. “You hear this word thrown around all the time, but, man, I’ve never seen anything like it.” He continued, “I think people are more open. I think people are more hungry for the Gospel than they’ve been in decades. The evangelist said it’s truly a “tremendously exciting time.” It ironically comes as much of culture is reeling from the embrace of a Gospel of the self — the notion human beings are the arbiters of their own truth and should simply follow their own whims and emotions. Despite the negativity resulting from this sweeping cultural ideology, Hall said there’s reason to rejoice. “Everybody’s complaining about the darkness and how bad it is,” he said. “There’s never been a better time to be in the light business than today.” (FaithWire) Read More

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

He Keeps Me Singing

Words and Music: Luther Bridges
Scripture: He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Psalm 40:3
Lyrics:
There’s within my heart a melody
Jesus whispers sweet and low,
Fear not, I am with thee; peace, be still,
In life’s constant ebb and flow.
Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know,
Fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go.
All my life was wrecked by sin and strife,
Discord filled my heart with pain,
Jesus swept across the broken strings,
Stirred the slumbering chords again.
Refrain
Feasting on the riches of His grace,
Resting ’neath His sheltering wing,
Always looking on His smiling face,
That is why I shout and sing.
Refrain
Though sometimes He leads through waters deep,
Trials fall across the way,
Though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
See His footprints all the way.
Refrain
Soon He’s coming back to welcome me,
Far beyond the starry sky;
I shall wing my flight to worlds unknown,
I shall reign with Him on high.
