House Republicans Vote to Advance Impeachment of DHS Secretary Mayorkas
|
|
Early this morning, House Republicans voted to advance impeachment articles against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. He faces charges of refusing to uphold the law and breaching the public trust, accused of mishandling the U.S. southern border.
Falling along party lines, the House Homeland Security Committee recommended the articles to the full House for a vote, which could come next week. Republicans are continuing to push forward despite significant Democrat opposition.
"If refusal to obey the law leads to death of your fellow Americans, you no longer deserve to keep your job. You're breaking the public trust," said Homeland Security Committee Chairman, Rep. Mark Green (R-TN).
In a new letter to the committee, Mayorkas writes that the "false accusations do not rattle," or "divert," him.
Democrats call the impeachment effort a "sham," accusing House Republicans of following the wishes of former President Donald Trump.
"Extreme MAGA Republicans running the House of Representatives are deeply unserious people. They don't want progress, they don't want solutions, they want political issues and most of all they want to please a disgraced former president," Thompson said. (CBN) Read more here.

- Holy King, we thank You that this drama over the southern border is taking a front stage right now, because it is a matter of the sovereignty of our nation, which must be made secure and strong in order for we, the people, to live secure and strong. We pray for impeachment of this man and the others also who are working against our nation at every turn. We also pray for the elected representatives who act with indifference towards their oath to protect the Constitution and the citizens. We forgive them and ask Father, that you bring them all to repentance and holiness, in Jesus name.
- "But You, O Lord, shall laugh at them; You shall have all the nations in derision. I will wait for You, O You His Strength; For God is my defense." (Psalm 59:8-9)

‘Squad’ members Tlaib and Bush sole votes against bill to bar Oct. 7 attackers from entering US
|
|
Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Cori Bush (D-MO) were the only House members to vote against a bill that would bar Hamas members and those who participated in the attacks against Israel last year from entering the United States.
The House passed the bill, No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act, 422-2-1, on Wednesday evening. Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL) voted present, and Tlaib and Bush were the sole votes against the measure, which now heads to the Senate.
While Hamas and Palestine Islamic Jihad members were already prohibited from entering the U.S. under existing laws, the new bill now expands to officers of the Palestine Liberation Organization, which is the governing body of the Palestinian enclave, and anyone who was involved in the Oct. 7 attacks against the Jewish state who is not listed as a member of a terrorist group.
Tlaib said in a statement that the No Immigration Benefits for Hamas Terrorists Act was “unnecessary” and “redundant.”
“It’s just another GOP messaging bill being used to incite anti-Arab, anti-Palestinian, and anti-Muslim hatred that makes communities like ours unsafe,” said the Michigan Democrat, who is the only Palestinian American in Congress.
“I made a promise to my residents when they sent me to Congress that I would take meaningful actions to end hateful Trump-era immigration policies, reunite families, welcome migrants and asylum seekers, and reform our immigration system,” Tlaib added. “I reaffirm that commitment today, and will always speak truth to power in the face of disgusting attempts by my colleagues to dehumanize our immigrant neighbors.”
The Democratic caucus widely approved of the bill, noting that it had the full support of House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jerry Nadler (D-NY).
“This bill is widely duplicative of current law, as Hamas has been designed as a terrorist organization by the State Department since 1997, and any noncitizen who has engaged in or provided material support for terrorism is in admissible to the United States,” a notice from House Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-MA) stated.
Tlaib’s vote against the bill falls in line with previous calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and a vote against an Israel support resolution in late October. On Nov. 8, the House censured Tlaib over “promoting false narratives” about the Oct. 7 attack against Israel and allegedly calling for the “destruction of the state of Israel.” Twenty-two Democrats had joined all Republicans in supporting the censure. - Holy One, this is such a revolting display of contempt for the United States of America and we ask that these people be brought under Your authority, and ask You to remove them from the power of governing our nation, in Jesus name. Their detestable anti-semitism has been glaringly on display since the moment they took office, and we declare Father, that we stand with and bless Israel completely and repudiate all who do not. May their proclamations not be held against this nation and Your people, for they know not what they do, and we repent and ask Your forgiveness for this nation, in Jesus name.
- "'I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.'" (Genesis 12:3)

- Father, we pray for justice regarding this woman and any others who may be implicated in misappropriation of funds. May there be a true and just investigation and application of the law upon these actions, in Jesus name. We pray for the slander and accusations to cease and desist, in Jesus name. We pray for words of honor and respect to replace the mud-slinging and that integrity towards the law of the land would rise to be valued in the halls of government. Amen.

1. Hezbollah-affiliated group sends death threats to top Israelis, including the PM - World Israel News
A Hezbollah-affiliated terror group sent death threats to top Israelis, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video distributed online Monday.
In the less than one-minute clip accompanied by militaristic Arabic music and singing, the “Galilee Forces – Lone Wolves” showed the images of Netanyahu, Internal Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, MK Zvi Sukkot and Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan.
The latter three are outspoken right-wingerswho have called out not only Hamas as extremist terrorists but included the Palestinian Authority in that category as well.
Blurry images of Sukkot and Ben-Gvir are first seen on separate cellphones lying on a rifle, with a single bullet resting on each one. The four are then shown individually talking in recordings of live clips with each one’s face in the crosshairs of a gun and with blood running down their faces. A small graveyard is displayed suggestively as well. (Read more)

2. Israeli Bank Shutter Accounts of Settlers Sanctioned By Biden - Algemeiner
The Israeli bank accounts of two of the Israelis sanctioned by the United States government last week were closed on Sunday and Monday. Israel’s Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich spoke out against the action, saying “I will take action as the finance minister and do what I must. If need be, we’ll advance legislation on the matter.” He further called the instance “unthinkable” that it occurred.
The two Israelis, Yinon Levi and David Chai Chasdai, had their personal and business accounts closed by Bank Leumi and Bank Hadoar, respectively. The other two settlers listed bank with Bank Hapoalim, who also said they would close the accounts, saying “Bank Hapoalim respects the international sanctions and will comply with any legal order.”
The Bank of Israel announced their support for the move, saying “Banking corporations, by necessity of their international activities, are required to establish policies and procedures for the use of international sanctions lists and national sanctions lists of foreign countries and for entering into or carrying out operations with parties declared on such lists. Circumvention of sanctions regimes as mentioned, has the effect of exposing the banking corporations to significant risks, among them, compliance risks, money laundering and terrorist financing risks, legal risks and reputational risks.” (Read more)

3. Indigenous embassy in Jerusalem opens in an effort to combat false narratives - World Israel News
Wearing colorful traditional costumes, native peoples from around the globe made speeches, sang, danced, beat drums and, in one case, sounded a giant ram’s horn on Thursday to celebrate the inauguration of the Indigenous Embassy Jerusalem.
The embassy will serve as a much-needed antidote to the false claims by the Palestinians that there is no evidence of any Jewish life in Israel prior to 1948, when Jews ostensibly arrived as colonialist invaders.
The embassy is in part due to the efforts of the Indigenous Coalition for Israel (ICFI), a New Zealand-based group founded by native Maori to counter the false narrative about the Israel-Palestinian conflict that has “taken hold amongst indigenous peoples” and “has often bled into antisemitism,” its website says.
“We recognize that Jews are the indigenous people of this land, and we stand with you and your struggle,” ICFI co-founder Sheree Trotter told the 200-plus audience, noting that the Land of Israel is the place where the Jewish “nation was forged, its language and sacred literature developed, the beliefs, customs and traditions began. It is the most sacred place in the world to Jews. … This deep connection to a particular land and its ancestors are defining features of indigeneity.” (Read more)

4. UN chief taps panel to probe UNRWA ‘neutrality’ after Israeli allegations - Times of Israel
The United Nations appointed an independent panel to assess Palestinian relief agency UNRWA, it announced Monday, following Israeli allegations that some staffers were involved in Hamas’s October 7 massacres in southern Israel. The move drew praise from Jerusalem, which said it would submit materials to the probe.
The announcement came as UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini visited the Gulf in a bid to drum up support for the embattled aid provider after key donors suspendedfunding in the wake of Israeli intelligenceallegedly showing that 12 staff members were involved in the brutal attacks and that hundreds more employees were directly linked to Hamas and other terror groups.
Some 15 countries, including top donors the United States, Germany, Britain and Sweden, have suspended funding to UNRWA over the allegations, raising concerns that the agency may no longer be able to deliver vital aid to Gaza’s beleaguered population, which has been left vulnerable after months of war sparked by the Hamas massacre. 5. French FM decries ‘settler violence,’ demands ‘immediate ceasefire’ in Gaza - World Israel News
After a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the new French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné criticized “settler violence,” called for a “immediate ceasefire” along with the release of hostages and urged the creation of a Palestinian State.
In a press conference at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem on Monday, Séjourné said, “We must also prevent any risk of escalation, to avoid any flareup in (Judea and Samaria).”
He added, “It is of utmost importance to refrain from any action decision or statement that might spark violence. Settler violence must stop in the Palestinian territories, which we condemn.”
The Foreign Minister also criticized “any violent statements that spark Palestinian hatred,” and added, “Those statements are more and more frequent in Israel and are shared by political leaders.” (Read more)

1. HOW THE FAR LEFT'S 6 CASES AGAINST TRUMP COULD AFFECT YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE - ACLJ
Of all the cases the far Left is throwing at Trump, the 14th Amendment case at the US Supreme Court is the most critical. The first five lawsuits are not slam dunks for the far Left, so they would rather remove Trump from the ballot and deny Americans the right to vote for the candidate of their choice. Thus, the ACLJ's 14th Amendment case at the US Supreme Court is crucial for the democratic process, our constitutional republic, and future candidates who wish to be on a ballot. (Read more)

2. 6 PRO-LIFERS FACE HUGE FINES, PRISON AFTER FED CONVICTION: 'PROSECUTING PEACEFUL PRO-LIFE ADVOCATES' - CBN
After a week-long trial, a federal jury in Nashville, Tennessee found six pro-life demonstrators guilty Tuesday of violating the so-called Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (FACE) for blocking access to an abortion clinic in a nearby city three years ago. (Image: iStock-Liveslow)
Chester Gallagher, Paul Vaughn, Heather Idoni, Calvin Zastrow, Coleman Boyd, and Dennis Green were each charged with one count of violating the FACE Act and one count of engaging in a "conspiracy against rights." They each face up to 10 1/2 years in prison and fines of up to $260,000. Sentencing hearings will take place on July 2.
The FACE Act prohibits "violent, threatening, damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain, or provide reproductive health services."
"This was a peaceful demonstration by entirely peaceable citizens—filled with prayer, hymn-singing, and worship—oriented toward persuading expecting mothers not to abort their babies," said Steve Crampton, Thomas More Society senior counsel and attorney for Paul Vaughn. "Unfortunately, the Biden Department of Justice decided to characterize Paul Vaughn's peaceful actions as a felony 'conspiracy against rights,' to intimidate and punish Paul and other pro-life people and people of faith."
"This is a frustrating setback, for Paul, for his family, and for the extended pro-life community, which has rallied support for Paul from the day of his arrest in front of his wife and children by heavily armed FBI agents, on through the trial," Crampton said.
"The Biden Department of Justice's pattern of arresting and prosecuting peaceful pro-life advocates is disturbing," the Thomas More Society attorney added. (Read more)

3. Scientists Call for Global Moratorium on mRNA Shots, Immediate Removal from Childhood Schedule - LifeSite News
Governments should endorse a global moratorium on mRNA vaccines until all questions about their safety have been thoroughly investigated, according to the authors of a new, peer-reviewed article on the COVID-19 vaccine trials and the global vaccination campaign published last week in Cureus, Journal of Medical Science. (Image: Unsplash-CDC)
Cureus is a web-based peer-reviewed open-access general medical journal using prepublication peer review.
The authors surveyed published research on the pharmaceutical companies' vaccine trials and related adverse events. They also called for the COVID-19 vaccines to be removed immediately from the childhood immunization schedule.
After the first reports from vaccine trials claimed they were 95 percent effective in preventing COVID-19, serious problems with method, execution and reporting in the trials became public, which the paper reviewed in detail.
Evidence also shows the products never underwent adequate safety and toxicological testing, and since the vaccine rollout, researchers have identified a significant number of adverse events (AEs) and serious adverse events (SAEs). (Read more)

4. TIMELINE: HOW BIDEN CREATED THE BORDER CRISIS AND ENCOURAGED ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION - MRCTV.org
Since Day One ... Joe Biden has vigorously used his office to enable, encourage and validate illegal immigration to the US, causing the current crisis at the southwest border, a timeline analysis of his ... actions to-date demonstrates. (Screengrab image: via CBN News)
Just three years in, Biden already has "the most active immigration presidency" in US history, with more than five hundred immigration actions, the Migration Policy Institute reported on January 19, 2024:
"By taking 535 immigration actions over its first three years, the Biden administration has already outpaced the 472 immigration-related executive actions undertaken in all four years of President Donald Trump's term.
"The Biden administration's 535 executive actions through January 17, as calculated the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), were issued in one of the most turbulent migration periods within the Western Hemisphere and indeed globally in recent history."
The following timeline provides a small sample of the Biden Administration's most aggressive pro-illegal immigrant actions, beginning on Day One of his prolific first year in office: (Read more here)

5. Medical Ethics Group Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize for Shining Light on Forced Organ Harvesting in China - The Epoch Times
A British lawmaker has nominated Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing the medical ethics group’s role in spotlighting the “horrors of forced organ harvesting” in communist China.
The D.C.-based nonprofit, known as DAFOH, comprises medical doctors worldwide and has spent about 17 years raising awareness of the industrial-scale abuse.
Besides issuing publications examining evidence, the group has regularly hosted webinars and run a petition drive calling for the United Nations to act, which has garnered millions of signatures globally over a roughly six-year period.
Story continues below advertisement
In January, DAFOH called for the United Nations to establish an international criminal tribunal for the Chinese regime’s forced organ harvesting, with support from over 100 lawmakers, academics, and civil groups.
The nominator, Lord Philip Hunt of King’s Heath, commended the group for its “tremendous job” in making the case for “why we need to take action.”
“These acts are horrifying, I think they are against fundamental human rights,” he told The Epoch Times. (Read more)

6. The Fight for International Religious Freedom Goes Mainstream - Christianity Today
The message that international religious freedom advocates have been sharing all along—that prioritizing religious freedom is crucial for human flourishing and national stability—is increasingly catching on, with this year’s International Religious Freedom (IRF) Summit reflecting the growth of their global, interfaith movement over the past five years.
The summit, held this week in Washington, DC, has been a key part of mounting momentum around bringing more attention to religious persecution around the world, with sessions this year addressing crises from Nigeria to Nicaragua.
“In so many of the global crises around the world, there’s a religious freedom dimension,” said Jeremy Barker, director of the Middle East Action Team for the Religious Freedom Institute, who has seen greater recognition for the IRF cause over the past five years. “It’s not marginal but mainstream.”
Last year marked the 25th anniversary of the International Religious Freedom Act, which required the US State Department to make religious freedom an essential aspect of its foreign policy focus, and the United States has continued to see public victories for the cause. Former president Donald Trump nominated an IRF ambassador within six months, something his predecessors took many more months to do, and elevated the position of the IRF office within the State Department.
The Trump administration also put on the initial two IRF summits as government-hosted ministerials, followed by other nations including Poland, the United Kingdom, and Czechia. (The ongoing US summit is now organized by civil society.) Former IRF ambassador Sam Brownback also oversaw the launch of the International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance, a global focus group which now includes 37 member nations.
At this year’s summit, the current US IRF ambassador, Rashad Hussain, said he makes sure IRF officials are represented in State Department foreign policy meetings to highlight how religious freedom is an imperative for national security.
“Countries and societies that protect their religious freedom are more likely to be safe and prosperous, and countries that do not protect religious freedom are less likely to be stable,” Hussain said. “It is an essential part of our foreign policy, and we see evidence for that all around the world.” (Read more)

7. Nuclear missile found in US man’s garage - The Telegraph
A rusting rocket discovered in a man’s garage in Washington state is in fact an inert nuclear missile, police have said. Authorities contacted a man in Bellevue, Washington, after he called the Air Force Museum offering to donate a military-grade rocket that belonged to his late neighbour. He said that his neighbour had bought the item from an estate sale.
Bellevue police bomb squad technicians said it was a Douglas AIR-2 Genie, an unguided air-to-air rocket that is designed to carry a 1.5kt W25 nuclear warhead. They said there was no warhead attached and there was no danger of an explosion.
Seth Tyler, a spokesman for Bellevue police department, said the device was “just basically a gas tank for rocket fuel”. He told the BBC the event was “not serious at all”, adding that “our bomb squad member asked me why we were releasing a news release on a rusted piece of metal”.
Police determined the item was safe and left it with the man to be restored for display in a museum. “We think it’s gonna be a long, long time before we get another call like this again,” Bellevue police department said on Twitter. (Read more)
- Lord, we are grateful that this missile had no warhead attached and is considered safe.

8: Former Trump administration official Mike Gill dies after being shot in DC carjacking spree - Just the News
Mike Gill was sitting in his car when a suspect shot him last week.
Former Trump administration official Mike Gill passed away days after he was shot during a carjacking spree in Washington, D.C., his wife said.
Gill, a married father of three who served as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission chief of staff and chief operating officer under former President Donald Trump, passed away after he was shot Monday in downtown D.C., his wife, Kristina Gill, told Fox 5 DC on Saturday.
"His sudden departure has left a void in our lives that can never be filled," she said.
Mike Gill was sitting in his car Monday when suspect Artell Cunningham, 28, entered his vehicle and shot him shortly before 6 p.m., police said. Officials said Cunningham attempted to steal another vehicle later in the evening and approached other people and demanded their keys.
During the carjacking spree, Cunningham allegedly shot and killed Alberto Vasquez, Jr., a 35-year-old father of two young daughters, about a mile and a half away from where Gill was shot.
Police later shot and killed Cunningham. (Read more)

The Neighbor
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, February 5, 2024
There’s an old saying that good fences make better neighbors. There was a time in this country when many people didn’t even lock their doors at night. They knew their neighbors and trusted them. Where I grew up, we helped each other at planting and harvest. We had community picnics and town hall dances. If there was a disaster, we all pitched in to help. If someone was out of line, you can bet there was accountability. But it was done in a respectful way. And, quite frankly, while we all didn’t go to the same church, we went to church or at least believed in God and Christ. Think about this picture then fast forward to today. How many neighbors do we actually know? What is God’s will toward this?
Exodus 18-20 recounts the giving of the Ten Commandments. With the Israelites camped across from Mount Sinai, God was about to establish a covenant with the them based on the covenant He had made with Abraham (Genesis 15). This covenant was similar to a marriage contract (ketubah), or vessel treaty between God as husband/king, and Israel, His wife/people. Called the Mosaic Covenant, it came with an agreed list of requirements that included blessings for keeping it, and curses for breaking it. Also, the Mosaic Covenant held the promise of the land for faithful obedience, or exile for unfaithfulness. This was the first covenant ever made between a God and a whole nation, and that nation was to be as God proclaimed in Exodus 19:6, “a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.”

Monster storm forecast worsens for L.A.: The danger zones, the forecast, the warnings
|
|
|
California girded Sunday for a "potentially historic" storm that put much of the state on high alert, with officials expecting life-threatening damage and issuing evacuation orders or warnings in parts of Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Monterey counties.
Rain totals that were forecast for Los Angeles County worsened Sunday, with totals generally rising by about 2 inches in some areas. It's now possible that Pasadena could see up to around 10 inches of rain; Northridge, Pomona and Santa Clarita could be hit by about 7 inches; downtown Los Angeles, Long Beach and Westlake Village about 6 inches; and Redondo Beach about 5 inches.
"The heaviest main band of the rain looks to stall now over L.A. County," meteorologist Ryan Kittell of the National Weather Service office for Los Angeles said at a briefing Sunday. "That's a lot of water, people. I mean, that's a lot. We're expecting a lot of freeway flooding and road flooding, road closures. Many parked cars will be flooded ... especially in low-lying areas of neighborhoods."
The weather system was threatening flooding because it is "very slow moving," Kittell said. "The core of the low pressure system is very deep, and it's moving very slowly and it's very close to us. And that's why we have those very strong winds. And the slow nature of it is really giving us the highest rainfall totals and the flooding risk." (L.A. Times) Read more here.

|
- We continue to pray for safety for all the residents in California who are in the path of this storm. We ask our Lord's angels to bring supernatural protection where needed. Amen.

To keep you in all your ways." (Psalm 91:11)

Senate unveils $118B, bipartisan border security, asylum bill that includes money for Ukraine

The $118 billion package includes provisions to reduce record-high crossings
|
|
The Senate on Sunday night released the text of its long-awaited border security bill.
The $118 billion package includes provisions to reduce record-high crossings at the southern U.S. border and tighten the country's asylum system, according to NBC News.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he would like to votes on the package this week.
But as of Sunday evening, its fate in the Democrat-controlled upper chamber was unclear.
The chief negotiators on the measure were Sens. James Lankford, R-Okla., Chris Murphy, D-Conn., and Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz.
If passed, the bill would include the most comprehensive border security and migration policy in decades, also according to NBC News.
“The Senate’s bipartisan agreement is a monumental step towards strengthening America’s national security abroad and along our borders,” said Schumer, a New York Democrat.
Passage of the bill will be especially challenging in a presidential election year.
House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green said after the bill was released that he and the speaker were reviewing it and that he would "vehemently oppose any agreement that legitimizes, normalizes any level of illegal immigration." (Just the News) Read more here.

House J6 investigator says White House foot-dragging 'unacceptable,' warns of subpoenas ahead
|
|
|
Rep. Barry Loudermilk says he is prepared to issue subpoenas, alleging that the White House has been non-responsive to questions touching on possible collusion on the J6 hearings' testimony.
The House subcommittee chairman leading the Jan. 6 investigation is declaring that the Biden White House's foot-dragging has been "unacceptable" and he is putting both presidential aides and the Georgia county prosecutor pursuing Donald Trump on notice that Congress is prepared to pursue evidence, up to and including subpoenas and contempt.
Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., on Thursday evening gave a sweeping update on his House Administration oversight subcommittee's efforts to obtain evidence, saying Democrats from the White House and Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., were not providing the cooperation needed to give Americans the facts and answers they are missing from the tragedy three years ago in the U.S. Capitol.
"Come on, let's be honest. What is it that you're trying to hide?" Loudermilk asked Democrats during an interview with the "Just the News, No Noise" television show Thursday night during which he also described in detail his efforts to secure documents, testimony and video from witnesses.
Loudermilk said the White House has yet to provide unredacted access to documents the House Democrats' Jan. 6 committee had sent to Biden's team. That committee folded in January 2023 when the GOP took over the House.
The White House sent heavily redacted, unreadable versions of documents and thus far has not relented in turning over to his committee the memos that are official congressional documents, according to Loudermilk. He also said the White House only offered to let Loudermilk see the memos at the presidential mansion.
"That's unacceptable,” he said. “It's unacceptable. These are House documents. They belong to the House of Representatives, and I expect that we will get them. I believe we're just going to have to go ahead and subpoena and see where that goes.” (Just the News) Read more here.

- Lord God, we can only shout HALLELUJAH when we read this news! Thank You, O Lord, that moves are now being made to hold those in authority over the J6 incident accountable for their actions. Lord God, we continue to ask that You sustain those who have been incarcerated during their time of suffering, and to soon set the captives FREE, in Your Holy Name, amen and amen!
- "He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;"

Trump Drops Names of Potential Vice President, Cabinet Contenders
|
|
|
Former President Donald Trump has dropped the names of several contenders for his running mate and future cabinet members.
President Trump made the comments to Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo in an interview that aired on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Feb. 4.
President Trump is seen by many observers as all but the presumptive Republican nominee with back-to-back blowout wins in Iowa and New Hampshire, where he won by double-digit margins in each contest.
Asked when he would announce his running mate for his third White House bid, President Trump told Ms. Bartiromo, “Not for a while.”
“I mean, we have so many great people in the Republican Party, but not for a while,” he said.
“What criteria are you using to identify who your running mate is?” Ms. Bartiromo asked.
The key consideration, President Trump replied, is “who would be a good president?”
Ms. Bartiromo followed up by asking President Trump point blank who he’s gonna choose as his vice presidential pick in 2024.
“I have a lot of good ideas but I haven’t [decided],” President Trump replied.
But he mentioned the names of several contenders for the No. 2 position in the federal government, including Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem—two who have long been seen as top prospects. Other names commonly mentioned are Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) and House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.).
But President Trump specifically mentioned Mr. Scott and Ms. Noem during the interview. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Mighty King, we put President Trump in Your hands and ask You to give him the wisdom and Godly counsel that he needs to appoint a trustworthy Vice-President and stable leadership team going forward. We bind every effort of the adversary to infiltrate his cabinet and candidacy, and we loose a heavenly anointing over those who will serve with honor and integrity, in Jesus' holy name. We pray for President Trump to follow his "guts", his "know-er", and hear You Father, so that his chosen team will stand secure in the face of adversity and not back down, nor betray their oath of office or our nation, in Jesus name.
- "'And that servant who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes, But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.'" (Luke 12:47-48)

And Now . . . Lion of Judah: ROAR!!!!

"The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies."

‘Mind-blowing’ new images reveal 19 galaxies ‘down to the smallest scales ever observed’
|
|
The James Webb Space Telescope has captured new detailed portraits of 19 spiral galaxies filled with millions of stars and glowing gas and dust.
(CNN) — The James Webb Space Telescope has captured scintillating portraits of 19 spiral galaxies — and the millions of stars that call them home — in unprecedented detail never seen before by astronomers.
Webb’s singular ability to observe the universe in different wavelengths of infrared light, such as near-infrared and mid-infrared, showcases the stars, gas and dust within the intricate structure of each galaxy.
Astronomers believe that about 60% of all galaxies are spiral galaxies — and our solar system resides in one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way galaxy. Webb’s observations can help astronomers better understand star formation and the evolution of spiral galaxies like our own.
Seen face-on, each galaxy in the new images has spiral arms laden with stars. The center of each galaxy features clusters of old stars or supermassive black holes.
The observations were made as part of the PHANGS, or the Physics at High Angular resolution in Nearby GalaxieS, project. More than 100 astronomers around the world participate in the program, which also looks at data from the Hubble Space Telescope, the European Space Observatory’s Very Large Telescope’s MUSE instrument and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array in Chile. DeSantis Wins: Federal Judge Rejects Disney's 'Retaliation' Lawsuit
|
|
A federal judge has dismissed the Walt Disney Co.'s lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ruling that state legislators had a right to regain control of the district that governs the amusement park. U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor in Tallahassee said in his decision Wednesday that Disney lacked standing in its First Amendment lawsuit against the Republican governor and the secretary of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. Disney filed a lawsuit last April claiming DeSantis organized a "government retaliation." The entertainment giant accused him of punishing the company for exercising its right to freedom of speech when he signed legislation that transferred control of Disney World's self-governing district – which had operated independently from the state – giving control back to the state of Florida. As CBN News reported, the law eliminated the Reedy Creek Improvement District, a 55-year-old Disney government, as well as a handful of other similar districts by June 2023. Additionally, it created a new special district called the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District forcing Disney to cancel plans for a $1 billion campus in Florida.
The Reedy Creek Improvement District was a private government controlled by Disney World and was set up by the state legislature in 1967 allowing it to maintain its own government services such as zoning, fire protection, utilities, and infrastructure. The "House of Mouse" had claimed DeSantis only enacted the law to dissolve Walt Disney World's private government because it publicly opposed Florida's Parental Rights in Education Act. That law bars public school educators from teaching gender identity and sexual orientation ideology to young children in pre-K through third-grade classrooms. Disney began lobbying against the pro-family legislation engaging in political activism and mislabeling it. DeSantis at the time said Disney lied about the content of the education law but that he viewed the company's vow to fight the law as unacceptable. "You're a corporation based in Burbank, California, and you're gonna marshal your economic might to attack the parents of my state. We view that as a provocation, and we're going to fight back against that," DeSantis said. (CBN) Read More
- Father, we thank You for justice in favor of Governor DeSantis and the State of Florida allowing control of the district where Walt Disney Co is situated. We are grateful for leaders standing up courageously against the LGBTQ plus agenda, agreeing for parental rights in education and boldly protecting innocent children of Florida! We pray in the Name of Jesus that all ideology of gender identity and confusion of sexual orientation will be squelched in every school district across America, bringing the education system back into right-alignment with biblical values! In the Name and blood of Jesus Christ-Amen

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name."

Scripture: Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. Hebrews 13:5
Lyrics:
There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus,
No, not one! No, not one!
None else could heal all our soul’s diseases,
No, not one! No, not one!
Refrain
Jesus knows all about our struggles,
He will guide till the day is done;
There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus,
No, not one! No, not one!
No friend like Him is so high and holy,
No, not one! No, not one!
And yet no friend is so meek and lowly,
No, not one! No, not one!
Refrain
There’s not an hour that He is not near us,
No, not one! No, not one!
No night so dark but His love can cheer us,
No, not one! No, not one!
Refrain
Did ever saint find this friend forsake him?
No, not one! No, not one!
Or sinner find that He would not take him?
No, not one! No, not one!
Refrain
Was ever a gift like the Savior given?
No, not one! No, not one!
Will He refuse us a home in Heaven?
No, not one! No, not one!
