Senator Rand Paul on Trucker Convoys Protesting in US:
"I'm all for it!"
|
|
Republican Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.) expressed support for trucker convoys potentially protesting COVID-19 restrictions in the U.S. as they have in Canada.
“I’m all for it,” Paul said in an interview with The Daily Signal, a publication run by the conservative Heritage Foundation. “Civil disobedience is a time-honored tradition in our country, from slavery to civil rights, you name it. Peaceful protest, clog things up, make people think about the mandates.”
“And some of this, we started,” Paul said. “We put [COVID-19] mandates on truckers coming across the border from Canada so then they put mandates on, and the truckers are annoyed. They’re riding in a cab by themselves, most of them for eight, 10-hour long hauls, and they just want to do what they want to do. It’s their own business.”
"Freedom Convoy" demonstrations in Canada, which began as protests against COVID-19 mandates impacting truck drivers, have since spread to cities around the country and attracted support from some Americans.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned law enforcement partners earlier this week that U.S.-based truck drivers may stage similar demonstrations in support of the Canadian movement. The agency said it had received reports that a convoy is potentially planning to travel from California to Washington, D.C., and block roads in major U.S. cities to protest vaccine mandates and other pandemic-related restrictions.
“It’d be great, but the thing is, it wouldn’t shut the city down because the government workers haven’t come to work in two years anyway,” Paul told The Daily Signal of a potential convoy traveling to the U.S. capital. “I don’t know if it’ll affect D.C. It’d be a nice change. We’d actually have some traffic.” Read more

- Father God, we thank You for Senator Rand Paul, who has been a consistent voice of sanity since all of the COVID19 chaos began. And now, he is a voice from our own Congress, speaking up for the "little guy" in Canada. Thank you for his support, and we pray that many other members in both the House and in the Senate will also raise their own voices to defend the rights of the Freedom Convoy. In Your Name, amen and amen.

1. Violent clashes erupt in east Jerusalem neighborhood - Israel National News
Violent clashes broke out in the eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Shimon Hatzaddik (Sheikh Jarrah) Sunday evening, after lawmakers from the Joint Arab List confronted a right-wing lawmaker who set up a temporary office in the area.
MKs Ofer Cassif, Ahmed Tibi, and Osama Saadi from the Joint Arab List set off a new wave of violence in the Jerusalem hotspot Sunday, when they approached MK Itamar Ben-Gvir’s (Religious Zionist Party) temporary parliamentary office, which he set up in the neighborhood following attacks on local Jews this weekend.
The visit by the Joint Arab List MKs sparked violent clashes with right-wing activists who gathered in Shimon Hatzaddik following a spate of attacks on Jewish residents over the past few days.
Police have maintained an elevated presence in the area, and officers deployed to the neighborhood separated the two groups after the violence broke out. (Read more)

2. Lapid says time running out for Israelis to leave Ukraine before 'things get complicated' - Israel Hayom
Foreign Minister Yair Lapid warned on Sunday that Israel may not be able to provide aid to those stranded in Ukraine should hostilities break out this week, as many expect.
"There is a very large Jewish presence there and we are in touch with them through the embassy," Lapid said at a briefing. "There will be 31 flights to Israel in the coming week and probably even more. There is a short window of opportunity to get the Israelis out before things get complicated," he stressed, noting that the government was "duty-bound to help Israelis and Jews everywhere."
The United States said on Sunday that Russia could invade Ukraine "any day now" and might create a surprise pretext for an attack, as the German chancellor prepared for talks this week with President Vladimir Putin to try to ease the crisis. (Read more)

3. Israel has secret plan to rescue Ukrainian Jews in event of Russian invasion - Jerusalem Post
Israel has a secret plan to rescue Jews and their relatives in case of a Russian invasion of Ukraine, senior government officials said Sunday.
The planned operation includes rescuing them, bringing them to Israel and temporary housing. Details of the operation remain unclear, but all of the relevant government ministries and official organizations have been meeting regularly about creating the potential evacuation plan for many weeks.
As threats of a Russian invasion of Ukraine become more concrete, Ukraine’s Jewish community members have to decide if they are interested in leaving with the assistance of Jewish organizations and the Israeli government. (Read more)

4. PA Chairman: We Have No Choice But to Avenge the Squad Israel Eliminated - Jewish Press
PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Deputy in the Fatah leadership Mahmoud Aloul on Thursday visited the mourning tent set up in memory of the three terrorists who were killed this week in Shechem (Watch: Israeli Special Forces Kill 3 Terrorists in Heart of Shechem), and played a voice recording of Abbas who said: “We have been patient for 73 years but we will not be patient any longer. We have no choice but to give them back double what they’ve done to us because we are the victims, not the attackers. The assassination was a deliberate murder carried out by the oppressive Zionist occupier. These events will not pass quietly, it is impossible to remain silent about it.”
IDF special forces on Tuesday hunted down and killed a three-man terror cell in the heart of the city of Shechem. The three terrorists were responsible for at least five shooting attacks on Israeli soldiers and civilians in the Samaria area in recent weeks.
The three armed terrorists were in a vehicle when they clashed with the IDF force that sprayed them with a torrent of bullets (see the perforated windshield and body in the video below). They were identified as members of the Fatah’s al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades. (Read more)

5. Two Injured in Clashes in Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah Neighborhood - Algemeiner
i24 News – At least two people were injured and six others arrested after clashes in east Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood early Sunday morning.
Clashes erupted between police and protesters, as well as between Jews and Palestinians, after a suspected firebomb attack on a Jewish home, and far-right lawmaker Itamar Ben Gvir’s announcement that he will set up his office in the neighborhood, which has been plagued by tensions for several months.
A Jewish man was moderately injured by an Arab driver in the neighborhood around midnight. Police arrested the driver, who claimed he was sprayed with pepper spray before the collision, apparently by Jewish protesters. (Read more)

1. Freedom Convoy: Canada court orders end to trucks' bridge blockade - BBC
A Canadian judge has granted a court order to end a truckers' blockade of a vital trade link with the US. The injunction approved by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice came into effect at 19:00 local time (midnight GMT) on Friday.
The Ambassador Bridge, linking Windsor, Ontario, with Detroit, Michigan, has been blockaded for five days. Truckers' protests against Covid restrictions are also ongoing at other border crossings and in Ottawa.
The injunction was filed by the city of Windsor and the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association, which argued that they were losing as much as $50m ($39m; £29m) per day because of the convoy. Following the court order, Windsor Police put out a statement to "make demonstrators clearly aware that it is a criminal offence" to block the border crossing. The police added that criminal conviction could lead to the seizure of vehicles and the inability to enter the US. (Read more)

- Father, we pray success for this convoy and ask that these voices be heard in protest of the extreme mandates in Canada. Give them favor in the eyes of God and man.

2. Ottawa Locals Blow A Gaping Hole In Media, Government Narrative On Trucker Protests - Daily Caller
Two Ottawa residents discussed the Freedom Convoy on Thursday and seemingly poked holes in the media and Canadian government officials’ narrative that the trucker protest has amounted to an insurrection.
Ottawa residents Alycia and Soungui Koulamallah visited the site of the protest, sharing how the atmosphere has been filled with “love” and “kindness.” “My business has not been interrupted by any of what’s been going on with protests, I am a full supporter of protests because I’ve actually taken the time to come down and speak to these people and get to know why they’re here and their stories, which is what a lot of people aren’t doing,” Koulamallah said. “I believe that most people that are just spewing out hate and all this ugly language toward these truckers, those are the people that are staying at home and not making the effort to come downtown and talk to these people.”
Koulamallah said he had brought his mother down to the protest a few days earlier and his mother was shocked to see the difference in what the media was portraying versus what was actually happening on the ground. Alycia said she agreed, noting “so far, every single person we have met has just met us with so much love, understanding so much peace. They made me cry so many times just hearing their incredible stories of what they’re fighting for and I just love everyone so much.”
Despite testimony and videos appearing to show the protest is peaceful, Canadian officials such as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have labeled the protest as a group of people “waving swastikas.” Trudeau accused protesters of “trying to blockade our economy, our democracy and our fellow citizens’ daily lives.” The Prime Minister also called the group a “small fringe minority” that was “holding unacceptable views.” (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that Your Holy Spirit will cover this entire group of truckers and those who support them. The leftist view counters the truth with appalling lies. We pray You will raise up many strong supporters who will stand with an undefeated message of arms locked with arms against the hoards on the left. In the Name of Jesus we pray.
- "And God shall spread both His hands in the midst of them, as he that swims spreads both his hands to swim: and He shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands." (Isaiah 25:11)

3. Inspired by Canadian truckers, Europe’s ‘Freedom Convoy’ heads to Brussels and other capitals - Washington Post
BRUSSELS — We stand with the Canadians. We oppose vaccine mandates. And have you heard about the globalist plot to take over the world? So flows the content coursing through European social networks, as aggrieved citizens, inspired by Canada’s “Freedom Convoy,” plan copycat actions across the continent.
In the weeks since truck drivers opposed to cross-border vaccine requirements first descended on Ottawa, groups wary of government overreach, holdovers from “yellow vest” inequality protests and hardcore conspiracists have come together in Facebook groups and Telegram channels, calling for convoys to European capitals and a rally in Brussels on Monday.
Though it is unclear how many people will show up, authorities in France and Belgium are bracing for unruly arrivals. Paris police, citing risk of public disorder, said protesters would not be allowed in the capital — and warned that violators could face two years in prison, a fine of more than $5,000 and a suspended driver’s license. More than 7,000 police officers have been deployed around the French capital. Brussels, similarly, hopes to “divert” people from the city and Belgian security will keep an eye on the border. - Father, again we pray You open the eyes of these governments, and that these mandates be reversed. Give freedom back to the people, in Jesus name, and prevent government overreach across our land.

4. Thousands of NYC workers to lose jobs Friday as vaccine deadline ends - New York Post
Thousands of unvaccinated Big Apple city workers are set to lose their jobs Friday, which marks the end of the grace period to get a COVID-19 jab. Nearly 4,000 of the city’s roughly 400,000 municipal employees are at risk of getting axed under the divisive mandate made by the previous administration in October, the city has said.
Current Mayor Eric Adams confirmed this week that he will go ahead with the terminations despite legal objections and a swell of protests, including a march to City Hall.
FDNY paramedic Carin Rosado was among those protesting Friday. The 33-year-old frontline worker told The Post she will likely have to leave the Big Apple after getting cut from her job of 10 years. “I’m about to lose my apartment, my car … I can’t afford to live in New York City without a job,” she said.
But it was worth it to fight “for my freedom,” she insisted.
“We start here, where is going to end? It’s the first shot, the second shot, they are moving to boosters, they want to implement other shots — I’m not going to let it go that far. I’m stopping it right here.”
Rosado said she will likely move to “somewhere where they respect your freedom. New York is so stubborn to stay on course and continue to implement controls, and that’s not for me,” she said. (Read more)

- Father, we pray You open the eyes of Mayor Eric Adams to see the error of this decision. We pray for those who will lose their jobs, and ask You to provide even better jobs. We ask for restoration for those who will not comply with the mandates.
- "Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours." (Isaiah 61:7)

5. Bodycam Footage Shows Capitol Police Striking Unconscious Trump Supporter Who Died on Jan. 6 - Epoch Times
Heavily redacted bodycam videos from the West Terrace tunnel on Jan. 6, 2021, provide a glimpse into conditions at the time Rosanne Boyland lay unconscious—including the sound of her being beaten with a large wooden stick by police. Several bodycam videos obtained by The Epoch Times have much of the screen blurred out by authorities, but key audio and video clues back up witness statements and other videos previously released by the U.S. Department of Justice.
A 39-second video clip from the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department shows the gloved hand of Officer Lila Morris picking up a long stick that was lying alongside an unconscious Rosanne Boyland, and then striking the prone woman multiple times. The sound of the stick making contact with Boyland’s body is clearly audible. After the attack, a protester can be heard screaming: “Guys, stop! We don’t need to do this! We don’t need to do this!”
Boyland, 34, of Kennesaw, Ga., died on Jan. 6 after being trampled by a crowd of protesters trying to escape being gassed by police inside the West Terrace tunnel entrance to the U.S. Capitol.
A variety of videos show Boyland struck by a weapon wielded by a D.C. Metropolitan Police Department officer, later identified as Lila Morris.
The Epoch Times reported on Feb. 10 that the beating of Boyland, who was unconscious at the time, by Morris was deemed to be “objectively reasonable” after an investigation by the department’s Internal Affairs Bureau. (Read more)

- Almighty God, we pray that Lila Morris be tried in a court of law and found guilty of murdering Ms. Boyland. We pray that this evidence will hold up in that court of law. Father God, show mercy to the bereaved. In the Name of Jesus.
- [Decreed against those who are covering up the truth in this case.] "You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." (John 8:44)

6. Biden Administration Urges Court Not to Allow Release of ‘Secret Report’ on Dominion Voting Machines - Epoch Times
Top officials at a U.S. federal cybersecurity agency are urging a judge not to authorize at this time the release of a report that analyzes Dominion Voting Systems equipment in Georgia, arguing doing so could assist hackers trying to “undermine election security.” The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) was recently provided an unredacted copy of the report, which was prepared by J. Alex Halderman, director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society. The report discusses “potential vulnerabilities in Dominion ImageCast X ballot marking devices,” or electronic voting devices, according to the government.
While CISA supports public disclosure of any vulnerabilities and associated mitigation measures with election equipment, allowing the release of the report at this point “increases the risk that malicious actors may be able to exploit any vulnerabilities and threaten election security,” government lawyers said in a Feb. 10 filing in the case.
The case was brought in 2017 by good-government groups and voters who say the lack of paper ballots undermines the voting process. U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg, an Obama nominee overseeing the case, was urged by CISA to reject attempts to release a redacted version of Halderman’s report for now. CISA officials want to review the information in the report and help Dominion resolve the vulnerabilities identified before the report is released. They said they weren’t able to provide a date by which they’ll be finished. Totenberg must weigh the request against the wishes of Georgia Secretary State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican and one of the defendants, who called in late January for the release to happen immediately. 7. Newly declassified letter warns CIA has conducted 'secret' program that collects 'bulk' data on Americans - The Blaze
The Central Intelligence Agency has used a "secret" program to collect data on American citizens in "bulk," according to a letter that was partially declassified on Thursday. Two Democrats on the Senate Intelligence Committee — Sen. Ron Wyden (Ore.) and Martin Heinrich (N.M.) — wrote CIA Director William Burns and National Intelligence Director Avril Haines in April 2021 expressing concern over the apparent unlawful data collection on American citizens.
The letter was released on Thursday with significant redactions.
The data collection is reportedly connected to counterterrorism intelligence, Bloomberg reported, and the program is being operated under Executive Order 12333. That executive order was signed by then-President Ronald Reagan in 1981. But according to Wyden and Heinrich, the CIA "has secretly conducted its own bulk program" and "has done so entirely outside the statutory framework that Congress and the public believe govern this collection, and without any of the judicial, congressional or even executive branch oversight that comes with FISA collection."
In a joint statement, Wyden and Heinrich called for more transparency from the CIA about what data was collected and under what legal authority the collection happened. "[W]hat these documents demonstrate is that many of the same concerns that Americans have about their privacy and civil liberties also apply to how the CIA collects and handles information under executive order and outside the FISA law," the senators also explained. "In particular, these documents reveal serious problems associated with warrantless backdoor searches of Americans, the same issue that has generated bipartisan concern in the FISA context." - Almighty God, we pray for the holy covering of the Blood of Jesus over all American citizens regarding their confidential information that is no longer protected by Congress nor any other governmental office. We are dependent upon You, Lord God, to intervene in this lawless invasion of our privacy. In Jesus' Name we pray.

8. Democrat Running Against Pelosi: ‘My War Against The Democratic Party’s Unacceptable Corruption Is Just Beginning’ - Daily Caller
Democratic California House candidate Shahid Buttar ripped House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in an interview with SFGATE, pledging to end her reign at the top of the Democratic Party and accusing the party of corruption.
“I want to end the Pelosi dynasty, and if I’m unsuccessful in doing it in this race, I will be very eager to end the dynasty at whatever point I can,” Buttar told SFGATE.
The candidate went on to say that, despite his left-wing views, conservatives could be persuaded to support his bid due to his stance on the Democratic Party’s alleged corruption.
“I think people who are concerned about privacy, or government accountability, or checks and balances, people who are concerned about transparency and conflicts of interest, might gravitate to the anti-corruption message, whatever they think of my ‘wokeness,'” Buttar told SGATE.
“My war against the Democratic Party’s unacceptable corruption is just beginning,” Buttar said in a tweet Thursday. (Read more)

- Dear Heavenly Father, We come to the true living God, the judge of all, to Jesus, the Mediator of the new covenant, whose blood of sprinkling speaks better than that of Abel, (Heb. 13:23-24). We petition the heavens for forgiveness for all the dark deeds our legislator has committed against this nation. We repent for not having been able to remove her before now. We also ask forgiveness on our part for there to be no righteous candidate able to run against her. Our hearts grieve over the fraud in our election process and the desire of the people to keep Pelosi in office. We grieve over candidate Buttar.
However, Father, we petition You that the God who is able to raise up one and take down another, raise up a righteous candidate in this race to be seated in this Senate seat of authority. Lord God Almighty, arise in a righteous one who will get more votes than either of them. By the blood of Jesus Christ we declare your blood covering over this election. In His name, Amen
|
|
- We declare your Word to be activated between the two candidates from Psalm 92:7&8, “When the wicked spring up like grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they may be destroyed forever… all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.” We also declare Psalm 68:1, "Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered,” Amen.

9. U.S. vows stepped-up Indo-Pacific effort in push back against China - Reuters
The United States vowed on Friday to commit more diplomatic and security resources to the Indo-Pacific to push back against what its sees as China's bid to create a regional sphere of influence and become the world's most influential power.
In a 12-page strategy overview, the Biden administration said it would focus on every corner of the region from South Asia to the Pacific Islands to strengthen its long-term position and commitment.
"The PRC is combining its economic, diplomatic, military, and technological might as it pursues a sphere of influence in the Indo-Pacific and seeks to become the world's most influential power," it said referring to the People's Republic of China (PRC).
"Our collective efforts over the next decade will determine whether the PRC succeeds in transforming the rules and norms that have benefited the Indo-Pacific and the world." (Read more)

10. Revelers chant 'Death to Israel, US, UK' on Iran revolution anniversary - The Jerusalem Post
Tens of thousands of Iranians in motorcycles and cars celebrated the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on Friday, Ynet reported. In 1979, the pro-Western Reza Shah Pahlavi was deposed and the powerful cleric Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini became the country's Supreme Leader.
According to the Ynet report, revelers attended the celebrations in their vehicles due to COVID-19 restrictions forbidding public gatherings. Some participants burned Israeli and American flags while shouting "We will not give up," the report added.
Processions were held in numerous cities and towns, including Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad and Tabriz. Some attendees held photos of current Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the former Supreme Leader Khomenei and the late general of Iran's elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Qasem Soleimani, who was assassinated in an American drone strike in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2020, the report quoted Iranian media as saying.
Ynet added that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi spoke before Friday prayers, saying the country was never dependent on the ongoing negotiations with world powers in Vienna, Austria, regarding its nuclear program. "We hang [our] hopes in the east, west, north and south of our country," he said. "We have never hung [our] hopes in Vienna or New York." (Read more)

Only 16% of Canadians would vote for 'weak' Trudeau based on his leadership during the Freedom Convoy
|
|
As trucker protests have snatched international headlines for the past two weeks, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau finds himself on the receiving end of some eye-opening poll results.
A new Maru Public Opinion poll of 1,506 Canadian adults surveyed between Feb. 9-10 found that 29% of Canadians believe Trudeau has "acted like a prime minister should in the face of the protest." Only 17% of Canadians saw Trudeau as "strong in acting to stop the protests," while 53% said the prime minister has "looked weak in the face of threats to the country."
Hours before the start of the Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa last month, Trudeau was reportedly transported to a "secret location" because of "security reasons."
In who to blame for the escalation of the protests, there were 46% who pointed the finger at the truckers and 31% at Trudeau. The poll said there were 44% who felt that Trudeau has "inflamed" the protests against vaccine mandates.
Based on his leadership or lack thereof during the trucker protests, a mere 16% of Canadians would "want to vote for him because of how he has dealt with the situation." (The Blaze)

US State Department requires Americans fleeing Ukraine to show proof of vaccination to enter Poland despite Poland not requiring proof of vaccination for travelers
|
|
The U.S. State Department announced Saturday that Americans fleeing Ukraine may enter Poland, but U.S. citizens must present proof of vaccination against COVID-19. This appears to be a U.S. State Department requirement since Poland does not require vaccinations against COVID-19 to enter the country.
"The security situation in Ukraine continues to be unpredictable due to the increased threats of Russian military action and can deteriorate with little notice," the announcement reads. "U.S. citizens in Ukraine should depart immediately using commercial or other privately available transportation options."
"Poland has indicated to the U.S. government that U.S. citizens may now enter Poland through the land border with Ukraine," the State Department bulletin notes.
According to the State Department, "U.S. citizens must present a valid U.S. passport and proof of COVID-19 vaccination" in order to gain entry into Poland.
"Travelers are also encouraged to present a negative test result from a PCR or antigen COVID-19 test," the notice states. (The Blaze)

Scripture: Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Hebrews 9:22
Lyrics:
What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my pardon, this I see,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my cleansing this my plea,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain
Nothing can for sin atone,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Naught of good that I have done,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain
This is all my hope and peace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
This is all my righteousness,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain
Now by this I’ll overcome—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus,
Now by this I’ll reach my home—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Refrain
Glory! Glory! This I sing—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus,
All my praise for this I bring—
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
