Talks with Iran have Reached "Urgent Point" - The Epoch Times

The White House says that if Iran keeps accelerating its nuclear program, it will soon be impossible to return to the 2015 nuclear deal.
The eighth round of talks to revive the deal resumed in Vienna Tuesday and a day later, in defiance of Western demands to halt its ballistic missile work, Tehran unveiled a new domestically-made missile with a range of 1,450 kilometers—capable of hitting the U.S. and Israeli military bases in the region.
At a White House press briefing on Wednesday, press secretary Jen Psaki said talks with Iran have reached an “urgent point.”
“[A deal] is in sight, but if it is not reached in the coming weeks, Iran’s ongoing nuclear advancements will make it impossible to return to the JCPOA,” Psaki said, using the acronym for the official name of the nuclear deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

1. Israel must take stand against Russia, Lithuanian parliament speaker says - Jerusalem Post
Israel should take a strong stand against Russian aggression toward Ukraine, the Lithuanian parliament speaker Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen told The Jerusalem Postduring her visit to Israel this week.
“Lithuania has been feeling the Russian border coming closer,” she said as she sat in a small lounge in Jerusalem’s Inbal Hotel with a view of the Old City in back of her.
“We hope for a very clear stance that supports Ukraine and that shows a solidarity of democracies against Russian aggression,” she said.
Cmilyte-Nielsen was in Israel to inaugurate an honorary consulate in Netanya, the country’s third such office outside of its embassy in Ramat Gan. (Read more)

2. Israeli Defense Ministry Thwarts Attempt to Smuggle 10,000 Bullets Into Gaza - Algemeiner
JNS.org – Israel’s Ministry of Defense thwarted an attempt to smuggle more than 10,000 bullets, as well as a handgun, to Gazan terror factions in recent days, it said in a statement.
According to a statement, the ammunition was hidden in an innocuous shipment of home goods designed for the Gaza Strip. It was intercepted by security inspectors working for the Crossings Authority at the Kerem Shalom Crossing between Israel and Gaza.
“The shipment has been seized and transferred for the treatment of security forces,” said the ministry in a statement.
According to the IDF’s Coordination and Liaison Administration (CLA) for Gaza, which is is responsible for implementing the civilian policy by the Israeli government towards the Strip, the Kerem crossing is used to transport to the coastal enclave. (Read more)

3. Police demolish outpost for 4th time since yeshiva student murdered - World Israel News
Israeli security forces destroyed structures in Homesh on Wednesday, marking the fourth time that demolitions have taken place at the outpost since yeshiva student Yehuda Dimentman was killed by terrorists while leaving a yeshiva at the site in December 2021.
Homesh, in northern Samaria, was a Jewish community evacuated in 2005. A yeshiva at the site has remained active, and after Dimentman’s murder, community members built additional structures there to demonstrate that they were not cowed by the act of terror.
After the first demolition in late December, Religious Zionism MK Avi Maoz said “the decision of Bennett’s leftist government to evacuate Jews from a place where a Jew was murdered, rewards terrorism.”

4. Serious cases, transmission rate fall further as Omicron ebbs - Times of Israel
Health Ministry data released on Thursday indicated that the Omicron-driven coronavirus infection wave was continuing to ebb.
The number of serious patients persisted in the gradual decline seen over the past few days, standing at 1,123. Sunday saw the highest number of serious cases since the onset of the pandemic, 1,263. Of those in serious condition, 274 were on ventilators.
In total, 2,525 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, of whom 344 were in critical condition, according to ministry data. (Read more)

(February 9, 2022 / JNS) American funding for Israeli missile defense wasn’t sealed at the Pentagon, the U.S. Capitol or the White House. Nor was it cinched in Jerusalem.
Instead, in November 2011, a fledgling pro-Israel, Christian-led organization took a group of influential U.S. Congress members beyond Israel’s pre-1967 lines into Judea and Samaria, and to a hilltop on the Mediterranean coast, where they got to observe for themselves what few of their colleagues had seen and even fewer had truly understood: The lay of the land leaves the entirety of Israel incredibly vulnerable to attack.
“It’s such a small country. Most people don’t have any concept of how close and compact it is. And that’s why their defense systems have to be so robust because you have not minutes—you have seconds to respond to an attack,” former Rep. Phil Roe (R-Tenn.), a former U.S. Army physician who served six terms, from 2009 to 2021, told JNS.
“Within 15 months, Israel went to war with [Hamas in the] Gaza [Strip], which now had mid-range missiles. Because of the quick action that resulted from that first delegation, Israel was able to get Iron Dome installations in key positions,” Heather Johnston, U.S. Israel Education Association Founder (USIEA) and executive director, told JNS. 1. Biden faces possible trucker threat – The Hill
President Biden is facing the possibility of truck driver protests mirroring those in Canada over vaccine mandates that would come as the administration works to combat supply chain disruptions, vaccinate more Americans and strengthen the U.S. economy.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Wednesday warned police partners of protests similar to those in Canada that it said could even disrupt the Super Bowl or the State of the Union address.
DHS “has received reports of truck drivers potentially planning to block roads in major metropolitan cities in the United States in protest of, among other things, vaccine mandates. The convoy will potentially begin in California early as mid-February, potentially impacting the Super Bowl scheduled for 13 February and the State of the Union address scheduled for 1 March,” DHS wrote in a memo shared with police partners.

2. US Department of Homeland Security Confirms It’s Monitoring Reports of Potential Truck Convoy Protests – The Epoch Times
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed it’s tracking potential truck convoys in the United States after Canadian protests against COVID-19 vaccine mandates unfolded in multiple cities.
DHS “is tracking reports of a potential convoy that may be planning to travel to several U.S. cities,” an agency spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an email.
“We have not observed specific calls for violence within the United States associated with this convoy, and are working closely with our federal, state, and local partners to continuously assess the threat environment and keep our communities safe,” the spokesperson added. “DHS will continue to share timely and actionable information with the public. Over the past year, DHS has increased timely and actionable intelligence and information sharing and strengthened operational coordination with partners across every level of government and the private sector.”
DHS is involved in helping secure the upcoming Super Bowl LVI, set to take place in Inglewood, California on Feb. 13. The agency has also worked with various partners to boost security in the Washington region following the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol. (Read more)

4. More European Countries Roll Back COVID-19 Restrictions – The Epoch Times
France, Greece, and Portugal became the latest European countries to relax COVID-19-related restrictions, with the three nations easing travel restrictions.For example, vaccinated tourists won’t have to provide a negative COVID-19 test to enter, although unvaccinated people will. Greece also dropped pre-departure requirements for testing.
French officials this week announced the country would drop a requirement of a negative COVID-19 test for vaccinated people from outside the European Union.
“We again required tests in December over the Omicron variant. In the coming days we will announce that tests are no longer needed for vaccinated people,” Clement Beaune, with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, told France 2 TV on Tuesday. The further relaxation of rules comes as Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Czech Republic have dropped domestic COVID-19 rules, including vaccine passports in some cases. 5. Pentagon’s DMED data proves that skyrocketing disease rates in military servicemen caused by covid “vaccines” – Pandemic News
The United States military’s official database for vaccine adverse events is overflowing with evidence to show a massive uptick in serious illnesses due to Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) injections.
The Defense Medical Epidemiology Database, or DMED for short, clearly reveals a spike in major diseases beginning in 2021 right after Donald Trump unveiled the jabs under Operation Warp Speed.
The Department of Defense (DoD), which maintains DMED, claims that this sudden increase in post-injection illnesses is just a coincidental “error” that has now been “corrected,” but this is a highly unlikely story. The truth is that this information was never supposed to get out in the first place, which is why the corporate-controlled media has been instructed not to touch the DMED story at all.

6. Study: Natural immunity to COVID remains strong at 20 months post-infection – Pandemic News
A study found that natural immunity against the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) remains 20 months post-infection.
According to researchers led by Dr. Dorry Segev of the Epidemiology Research Group in Organ Transplantation at Johns Hopkins University, antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein receptor-binding domain (RBD) remain in 99 percent of the study participants who tested positive for the virus – some of whom contracted the disease 20 months prior.
The researchers recruited unvaccinated, healthy adults in the fall of 2021 and divided them into three groups: individuals who had test-confirmed COVID-19 infections in the past, individuals who believed they recovered from COVID but did not get any tests, and individuals who did not think they ever got COVID or test positive at any given time. 7. Inflation Speeds Up Again in January, Vaulting to Fresh 40-year High – The Epoch Times
Inflation in the United States picked up its pace once again, accelerating to an annual 7.5 percent in January, the highest rate in 40 years and above analysts’ expectations, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
January’s acceleration in the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which reflects inflation from the perspective of end consumers, marks the eighth straight month of prices rising faster than 5 percent year-over-year and a faster pace than December’s 7.0 percent pace.
Inflation Risks ‘Tilted to the Upside’
Not only is January’s annual pace of CPI inflation the highest since February 1982, when it hit 7.6 percent, it is also far above the Federal Reserve’s target of 2 percent as reflected in a separate but related inflation gauge, pressuring policymakers to tighten loose monetary settings to knock some of the wind out of surging prices.
“Inflation readings in the U.S. are at their highest levels in nearly 40 years, and nominal wages are accelerating at a faster pace than we have seen in decades,” Loretta Mester, president of the Cleveland Fed and a voting member of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), said in prepared remarks on Wednesday for a virtual event hosted by the European Economics and Financial Centre. As his approval rating plunged below 40 for the first time - and is now significantly below that of President Trump at this time in his term - President Biden knew he had to come out and address the fact that despite all his promises, the average American is facing prices on consumer goods rising at their fastest in 40 years.
In a statement from The White House, the president blames the pandemic, says he has lots of tools, empathizes with 'real stress at the kitchen table', and then tells a giant fib about wages...
My two top economic priorities have been to create a growing economy with more good-paying jobs, and to lower the prices Americans have faced from the global problem of inflation related to the pandemic. We have seen historic success on the first priority, with the greatest year of job growth in history, Americans finding better jobs, better wages, and better benefits, along with the fastest economic growth in decades. On higher prices, we have been using every tool at our disposal, and while today is a reminder that Americans’ budgets are being stretched in ways that create real stress at the kitchen table, there are also signs that we will make it through this challenge.
While today’s report is elevated, forecasters continue to project inflation easing substantially by the end of 2022. And fortunately we saw positive real wage growth last month, and moderation in auto prices, which have made up about a quarter of headline inflation over the last year. 9. Supply chain collapse worsens as Ford says it must halt, cut production at several plants due to chip shortage - NewsTarget
The global supply chain crisis is getting worse, in part due to unreasonable and unnecessary vaccine mandates for truck drivers as well as warehouse and factory workers, as evidenced by an announcement from one of America’s legacy automakers.
Ford Motor Co. officials announced late last week that the company will have to cut or completely halt production at eight of its plants due to a massive shortage of computer chips, according to Fox Business.
The work slowdown will occur only in North American plants.
The announcement came after Ford said that a shortage of computer chips would probably affect production quotas, meaning the world’s economies and workers are still paying for the stupidity of locking down the plant over a virus with a 99 percent survival rate. (Read more)

10. Russia likely to invade Ukraine in days’ time as Belarus military drills serve as ‘cover’: Sen. Cotton - Fox News
The expectation of Russia invading Ukraine is becoming progressively more likely based on recent military patterns, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., analyzed on "America Reports" Thursday.
According to Russian military movement and the commencement of drills with Belarus, Cotton anticipated that President Putin has every intention to attack the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv first, pending invasion.

Some believe the government has gotten so big and overreaching that it no longer represents the people, but rather its own self-interest. Alexis de Tocqueville, a French philosopher and author of “Democracy in America” in two volumes (1835, and 1840), wrote in Volume II about the vibrance of the American system of government and how the virtue and spirit of the American people made government and freedom work. In this second volume, he astutely described, however, how “democracies” fall into a tyrannical reign through years of deception and growth of government. Tocqueville described the resulting power of such a government toward its citizens as “soft tyranny.”
He wrote: “It covers the surface of society with a network of small, complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. North Korea Boasts of Testing Missiles That Can Strike US Mainland
|
|
|
(Zerohedge) Days after North Korea's Kim Jong Un was featured in the country's latest propaganda video on a white horse prancing around in a forest and on a beach, he's issued a new threat, saying advanced missile technology possessed by Pyongyang will "shake the world."
The statement was issued Tuesday through the DPRK's Foreign Ministry. It said according to Reuters: "In today's world where many countries waste time dealing with the United States with submission and blind obedience, there’s only our country on this planet that can shake the world by firing a missile with the U.S. mainland in its range."
Effectively, Pyongyang says it has the capability of launching a long-range missile to strike the US mainland. "There are more than 200 countries in the world, but only a few have hydrogen bombs, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and hypersonic missiles," the statement continued.
The specific missile in question is believed to be the Hwasong-15, unveiled as under development starting in 2017, though it's thought to not have been tested yet. The Hwasong-15 is widely acknowledged as the north's longest-range intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

Evangelist Franklin Graham asked his Twitter followers to pray because "FREEDOM" is at stake.
"Pray for our neighbors to the north," Graham wrote. "Freedom is precious. The issue isn't primarily masks or vaccines—the issue is FREEDOM, the freedom to make our own choices. These truckers are a modern-day version of Paul Revere, riding against oppression."
"Who would've thought you'd ever be arrested for delivering fuel or food to people in need?" Graham said in a follow-up tweet. "But that's what's happening in Canada. You might be arrested for bringing fuel or food to truckers who are a part of the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa." (CBN) Read more here.

Researchers find a bacterial species that proliferates in the insects’ guts when they join a group; the finding could lead to new means for combating outbreaks
Researchers at Tel Aviv University recently decided to address an ancient mystery: Why do locusts form destructive swarms?
Specifically, researchers were interested in understanding what causes the usually harmless and solitary insects to radically change their behavior and form huge migrating swarms — a question that has baffled both scientists and farmers.
The destructive swarms have ravaged crops and caused famine since ancient times.In Exodus, locusts were the eighth of 10 plagues inflicted on Egypt, where the Israelites were enslaved. “They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen. They will devour what little you have left after the hail, including every tree that is growing in your fields,” the text says.
