Israel Expands Ground Op to Southern Gaza
|
|
The Israel Defense Forces has begun its ground offensive in the southern Gaza Strip, north of the city of Khan Yunis. IDF ground forces have already started to attack Hamas terrorist infrastructure in the area, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said on Sunday.
“It will be no less powerful than [the operations in northern Gaza], it will not have lesser results,” he stated, adding: “The Hamas commanders will be confronted by the IDF everywhere. “Just as we operated powerfully and thoroughly in the north of the Gaza Strip, we have the capabilities to do so now in the south of Gaza,” Halevi continued.
Israeli troops engaged in heavy ground battles near Khan Yunis on Saturday after intelligence revealed Hamas leaders digging in in the city, the second-largest urban area in the Strip after Gaza City, the IDF chief continued. The IDF resumed combat operations in Gaza on Friday morning after Hamas broke a week-long ceasefire by firing rockets at the Jewish state.Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Saturday night that Jerusalem’s objective to dismantle Hamas remains unaltered.
“During the last two days, we operated in areas where we were not active over the last month, and this will increase and intensify,” he said. “This operation will reach every point that needs to be reached. We are going for the absolute elimination of the Hamas terror organization. “The IDF has returned to fighting at full force—we are carrying on, exactly where we left off,” continued Gallant. “We are keeping our eyes on the goals of this war: defeating Hamas, destroying its governing and military capabilities—not allowing Hamas to continue its rule over Gaza—and returning the hostages to their homes.”
“The people of Gaza are not our enemies. For this reason, the IDF is leading controlled and specific evacuations in order to remove them as much as possible from areas of combat,” the military said in a message to Gaza residents. Read more

Netanyahu Vows Total Victory Against Hamas, Says PA Rejects Israel, Can't Rule Gaza
|
|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Saturday night not to allow the Palestinian Authority to take control of the Gaza Strip once Israel succeeds in removing Hamas from power, in sharp opposition to US President Joe Biden’s position and that of other key international actors.
Speaking during a press conference at the Kiryah army headquarters in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu accused the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority of promoting and financing terrorism, and described its creation as “a terrible mistake.”
The prime minister also pledged to continue the war against Hamas “until the end” and until “total victory” is achieved over the terror organization, and claimed he had not been able to do so in previous rounds of conflict because there had not been the necessary domestic or international consensus to do so.
And Netanyahu promised to “do everything possible” to bring the remaining hostages back from captivity, while issuing a strong warning to Hezbollah, saying it would bring about the destruction of Lebanon if it initiated a broad war against Israel.
Answering questions about the Palestinian Authority’s potential role in a post-war Gaza, Netanyahu said forcefully that the Palestinian Authority “pays murderers” and “educate[s] their children to hate Israel and, to my sorrow, to murder Jews, and ultimately for the disappearance of the State of Israel.” Read more |

1. Netanyahu: Palestinian Authority can’t return to Gaza, this isn’t Oslo II - Jerusalem Post
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged not to repeat the mistakes made under the Oslo Accords by allowing the Palestinian Authority to return to Gaza after its military campaign to oust Hamas from that enclave is over.
“One thing for sure I am not doing. I am not ready to delude myself to say that the defective act that took place under Oslo through a terrible error” must now take place a second time with the return of a “hostile entity” to Gaza and the West Bank, he told reporters on Saturday night.
Netanyahu referenced the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s initial exit to Tunisia. He noted that this was a correct decision, adding that the error that had been made was to allow it to return in 1994 with through the Palestinian Authority under the auspices of the 1993 Oslo Accords. (December 2, 2023 / JNS) Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated on Saturday night that the military is operating in new areas of the Gaza Strip, adding that Jerusalem’s war objective to fully dismantle Hamas remains unaltered.
“In the last two days, we are operating in areas we have not been active in over the last month, and it will increase and intensify,” said Gallant. “This operation will reach every point that needs to be reached. We are going for the absolute elimination of the Hamas terror organization.
“We are going until we defeat them, dismantle their military capabilities and break their governing ability, and we will need to do this by adapting to the new conditions of the terrain we are fighting in. There will be intense and precise fire,” continued the minister. (Read more)

3. Live updates: IDF resumes combat against Hamas - Israel National News
The IDF has announced the renewal of fighting in Gaza after the Hamas terror organization violated the terms of the operational pause.
An IDF spokesperson said that IAF aircraft are attacking Hamas targets in Gaza. A diplomatic source said, "We are renewing the fighting with all our might. There are no negotiations for the release of hostages."
At the same time, the IDF's Home Front Command updated the guidelines for the Israeli public, and in most cities in central Israel, schools will be open only in locations where a protected space is accessible within the required amount of time. (Read more)

4. 800 terror tunnels uncovered in Gaza - World Israel News
The Israeli military has identified some 800 shafts linked to terror tunnels in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war with Hamas on October 7th, an army spokesperson announced Sunday.
Prior to the Hamas invasion of Israel, the terror group had boasted it maintains hundreds of miles of tunnels across the coastal enclave, in a system of interconnecting passages rivalling the span of the New York City subway system.
Since the outbreak of the war, however, Israeli forces have aggressively targeted the tunnels, bombing the underground networks from warplanes and drone aircraft as ground forces locate and demolish the shafts in areas of the northern Strip under Israeli control. (Read more)

5. Israel, Hezbollah Trade Fire Across Israel-Lebanon Border for Third Day - Algemeiner
Israeli forces and Hezbollah terrorists traded fire across the Israel-Lebanon border on Sunday for the third consecutive day and Israel said several of its soldiers were hurt, following the collapse of a truce between it and Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
The Israeli military said its soldiers were “lightly injured” when an anti-tank missile fired from Lebanon hit a vehicle in the Beit Hillel area of northern Israel.
Israeli forces fired artillery in return, the military’s statement read.
Iran-backed Hezbollah said it had targeted a number of Israeli positions with what it called “appropriate weapons”.
Following the eruption of the Hamas-Israel war on Oct. 7, Hezbollah mounted near-daily rocket attacks on Israeli positions at the frontier while Israel launched air and artillery strikes in south Lebanon. But the border was largely calm during a week-long truce in Gaza that collapsed on Friday. (Read more)

1. Trial Date Set: Court Docs Say VA Election Official 'Altered Election Results' in 2020 Election - CBN
Former Prince William County registrar Michele White allegedly "altered election results," during the 2020 election, according to court documents recently obtained by Just the News.
However, the current county registrar said in a statement last year that White's alleged conduct "did not impact the outcome of any election contest."
According to county election results, President Joe Biden received 54% of the vote in the 2020 presidential election there while former President Donald Trump received 44%. An election official at the time allegedly "altered election results" in the state's reporting system that eventually led to three grand jury indictments last year, according to Just the News.
In September of 2022, White was indicted on two felony counts alleging corrupt conduct as an election official and making a false statement, and one misdemeanor indictment of willful neglect of duty by an election officer, the outlet reported.
At the time, the indictments were announced by VA Attorney General Jason Miyares, but he declined to comment or provide details on the alleged misconduct.
The indictment does not detail the alleged misconduct but says it occurred in the months before and after the November 2020 election.
Eric Olsen, the current director of elections/general registrar, reported "discrepancies" to the Commissioner of Elections and State Board of Elections earlier in 2022, which led to the investigation by Miyares.
White was the county's registrar from 2015 to 2021. She resigned abruptly with no public explanation. Before that, she served in a similar role in nearby Culpeper County.

2. DeSantis DOMINATES in Red State-Blue State Governors Debate With Newsom - PJ Media
The debate turned to gun violence. Newsom, who lies easily and without compunction, accused DeSantis of making it easier for felons to buy firearms.
DeSantis called him out on the lie, noting that there's a federal ban on felons buying guns, and turned the debate to crime statistics in California, including essentially legalizing shoplifting.
On the education issue, DeSantis pulled out a page from a book available to schoolchildren in California, saying that he had to black out the photos because they wouldn't be allowed on TV.
"The role of schools is to educate kids, not indoctrinate kids," he declared.
Newsom yapped about "banned books," claiming that DeSantis is on a "book-banning binge" in Florida. He listed several books that he claims have been banned in Florida schools. DeSantis responded, "Not banned" after every title.

3. Senate Democrats authorize US Supreme Court ethics subpoenas - Reuters
A Democratic-led U.S. Senate panel on Thursday authorized subpoenas to two influential conservatives - Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo - as part of an ethics inquiry spurred by reports of undisclosed largesse directed to some conservative Supreme Court justices.
The Judiciary Committee voted to authorize the subpoenas for Crow, a billionaire Republican donor and benefactor of conservative Justice Clarence Thomas, and Leo, a legal activist who was instrumental in compiling Republican former President Donald Trump's list of potential Supreme Court nominees.
Republican senators walked out of the contentious committee meeting in protest while Democrats cast votes. Some Republicans later questioned the vote's legitimacy, accusing Democrats of violating procedural rules.
"The subpoena clearly wasn't legal," Republican Senator John Kennedy, a committee member, said after the vote.
Senator Dick Durbin, the panel's chairman, said subpoenas were necessary due to the refusal by Crow and Leo for months to voluntarily comply with its previous requests for information. This included itemized lists of all gifts, transportation and lodging provided to any Supreme Court justice.
Durbin also renewed his criticism of a new code of conduct announced by the court on Nov. 13 and promised to continue to pursue the committee's ethics investigation.
"Without an enforcement mechanism, this code of conduct, while a step in a positive direction, cannot restore the public's faith in the court," Durbin said. (Read more)

4. Russia's Supreme Court effectively outlaws LGBTQ+ activism in a landmark ruling - NPR [GO, RUSSIA!!!]
TALLINN, Estonia — Russia's Supreme Court effectively outlawed LGBTQ+ activism on Thursday, the most drastic step against advocates of gay, lesbian and transgender rights in the increasingly conservative country.
Ruling in response to a lawsuit filed by the Justice Ministry, the court labeled what the suit called the LGBTQ+ "movement" operating in Russia as an extremist organization and banned it.
The ruling is the latest step in a decade-long crackdown on LGBTQ+ rights in Russia under President Vladimir Putin, who has emphasized "traditional family values" during his 24 years in power.
Thursday's closed-door hearing lasted four hours. No one besides Justice Ministry representatives were allowed in, and there was no defendant. Journalists were taken into the courtroom only for the reading of the verdict by Judge Oleg Nefedov, who wore a face mask, apparently for health reasons.
The case was classified, and the ministry didn't disclose any evidence, saying only that authorities had identified "signs and manifestations of an extremist nature" in the movement it seeks to ban, including "incitement of social and religious discord."

5. Appeals court reinstates Trump gag order in New York civil tax fraud case - NBC News
A state appeals court in New York reinstated a gag order against Donald Trump and his lawyers in the $250 million civil fraud case against the former president and his company, rejecting his argument that the order was unconstitutional.
State court officials had argued the gag order was necessary because of the "deluge" of threats directed at the clerk after Trump had blasted her on social media. Trump renewed his attacks on the clerk after a judge from the state Appellate Division issued a temporary stay of the order earlier this month.
The ruling Thursday by a four-judge panel rejected Trump's appeal and reinstated the orders against Trump and his lawyers, who'd repeatedly complained about the clerk in court. The decision does not explain the judges' rationale but means the gag order will stay in place as the panel considers Trump's full appeal of the orders.
Judge Arthur Engoron, who issued the gag orders, informed both sides of the appeals court's decision at the ongoing trial. "I intend to enforce the gag orders rigorously and vigorously and I want to make sure counsel informs their clients of the fact that the stay was vacated," he said.
Trump attorney Chris Kise told the judge that "we are aware" of the ruling. "It’s a tragic day for the rule of law, but we are aware,” he said. (Read more)

6. Six Democrats Join House GOP to Block Biden from Turning Federal Lands into Migrant Camps - Breitbart
Just six Democrats joined House Republicans this week to prevent President Joe Biden from turning federal lands into migrant camps for tens of thousands of illegal aliens who have been released into the United States interior.
On Thursday, the House passed Rep. Nicole Malliotakis’s legislation known as the “Protecting our Communities from Failure to Secure the Border Act” to block the federal government from using federal lands to house illegal aliens in a 224-203 vote.
Joining House Republicans to pass the legislation were Reps. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Don Davis (D-NC), Jared Golden (D-ME), Vicente Gonzalez Jr. (D-TX), Mary Peltola (D-AK), and Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA).
Malliotakis had introduced the legislation just as New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) and New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) got approval from the Biden administration to move hundreds, and potentially thousands, of border crossers and illegal aliens onto Floyd Bennett Field.
“Turning our federal parks into encampments for unvetted migrants from all over the world is unfair to surrounding communities and the taxpayers who are being forced to foot the bill while our Mayor bankrupts our city and slashes services from our citizens,” Malliotakis said in a statement.
The historic, federally-owned airfield was used by the U.S. Coast Guard and Navy during World War II. Before then, the airfield was also used as New York City’s first municipal airport and has had famous guests visit it in prior decades, including Howard Hughes and Howdy Doody.
The Biden administration, as Breitbart News reported, had lobbied Democrats to oppose the legislation — claiming it would limit the powers of the Department of the Interior and the Department of Agriculture.

7. China is running an operation to get Americans hooked on illegal drugs, former DEA boss warns - Just the News
From a thriving fentanyl business with Mexican cartels, to connections in illegal marijuana busts across the nation, alarms are being raised about Beijing's fingerprints being found on the US drug addiction crisis.
Police operations from California to Maine have busted Chinese nationals operating illegal marijuana growing sites. U.S. officials have clear evidence China is providing Mexican drug cartels the precursor chemicals to make the fentanyl flowing into America. The Drug Enforcement Administration has substantial evidence dating back a decade of Beijing’s role in flooding U.S. cities with a wide range of addictive and harmful drugs.
Experts say there is growing evidence that communist China has launched concerted operations to hook Americans on drugs as part of a larger effort to supplant the United States as the world's No. 1 superpower. Adding to the problem, the insecure border of the Biden era has only accelerated operations that have killed tens of thousands of Americans from fentanyl poisoning alone. The National Center for Health Statistics reported that drug overdose death rates involving fentanyl increased by 279% from 5.7 per 100,000 in 2016 to 21.6 in 2021.
“I'm just saying that from a strategic plan of the CCP, it's a brilliant concept that if we can get into America and sell this very pure marijuana and destroy Americans' brains, so then they go to pills and other drugs, that's a brilliant, unrestricted warfare,” former DEA Chief of Special Operations Derek Maltz Sr. told Just the News on Wednesday.
“When you look at the Chinese Communist Party. And you look at the role of China and their criminal networks in the overall drug crisis in America – because people are not connecting the dots – this is way bigger than just a bunch of, you know, illegally selling marijuana up in Maine. First of all, it's all over the country. It's not just Maine, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington State, California. And, you know, all different states,” Maltz said during a wide-ranging interview on the John Solomon Reports podcast. (Read more)

8. ‘Kona’ storm dumps exceptional rains, mountain snows on Hawaii - Washington Post
Extreme rainfall plagued Hawaii’s Big Island and Maui over the past few days, courtesy of a Kona storm, or strong low-pressure system passing northwest of the island chain. Rainfall totaled 15 inches or more on three Hawaiian islands, according to radar estimates, causing flooding and pollution concerns southeast of the Big Island town of Hilo.
That’s where officials hoisted a brown water advisory, which warned that floodwaters were carrying potentially hazardous materials.
“The public is advised to stay out of floodwaters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer, manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris,” warned the alert issued by the Hawaii State Department of Health.
The Aloha State is in desperate need of water. Approximately 94 percent of the state is facing some type of drought, according to the latest federal drought monitor. About 12 percent of Hawaii is under an extreme drought. That’s a Level 3 out of 4.
The same storm system plastered the Big Island summits with a plowable snowfall. Freezing temperatures accompanied 5 inches of heavy, wet snow atop Mauna Kea, which towers to 13,803 feet in elevation. The flooding rain and high-elevation snow come nearly four months after the Maui fire disaster that killed nearly 100 people, torched more than 17,000 acres and destroyed more than 2,000 structures.
What is a Kona storm?
Kona storms affect Hawaii a few times each winter. They are low-pressure systems from the mid-latitudes that burrow deeper over the central tropical Pacific Ocean. They pass northwest of Hawaii, drawing tropical moisture northward and deluging the islands with heavy rainfall.
Some Kona storms bring severe weather, too. Warnings for possible waterspouts were issued Wednesday west of Kauai. (Read more)

Join the Body of Christ for 21 Day Global Fast Dec 2-22
|
|
|
|
In May of this year, there was a global fast for Israel of 21 days duration, as many prophets and intercessors were hearing and sensing that danger was coming. As most would be aware, a war started on October 7 when Hamas attacked Israel in the early morning hours. A truce was negotiated which began on Friday, November 24 during which some hostages (not all) taken by Hamas on October 7 were exchanged for convicted Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. That truce lapsed in the early hours of December 1.
With the resumption of the war, a coalition of leaders in the body of Christ has felt that it is time for another 21-day fast. This fast will commence on December 2 and end on December 22. We are asking all participants to fast as you feel led whether a Daniel Fast, one meal per day, or complete abstinence from food.
Additionally, we would like to begin a cycle of monthly seven-day fasts beginning in January 2-8, and continuing over these same dates each month until the war is over and the current wave of global antisemitism subsides. We will post periodic updates about this subsequent wave of monthly fasts after the current 21-day fast ends.
This is admittedly short notice, but the fast which Esther called for her people (Est. 4:12-17) began on a moment’s notice as well. Reducing or ceasing eating doesn’t need a long preparation period. We hope you will join with us in fasting for the peace and safety of Jerusalem (Ps. 122:6).

We're moving into a whole new year now, and things seem to be just speeding up. But this is what the Lord says to you. You know, it's just going to seem like even some of you, you'll feel like you're in a chaotic situation where just all around you there are things out of your control, things that you say, "I don't know how to fix this. I don't have any answers for this. I don't have any solutions for this." But, The Lord says, "I am the great solution provider, and I am getting ready to reach into your past and reach into your future. And I'm going to bring them together to bring peace. Peace for your family, peace in your heart, peace in your health."
And so, the Lord says, "Trust me, even though the enemy has come in like a flood, I'm going to raise up a standard. I'm going to protect you. In this tumultuous, chaotic time where the nations are raging," the Lord says, "I'm going to speak into your storm, 'Peace, be still,' and it will happen." And He's going to do it for you. He's going to do it for your family. He's going to do it for those around you. And that's a very, very good promise. Merry Christmas again.

Geminid meteor shower is the astronomy event you won't want to miss in December

It has been a year packed with celestial sights including a "ring of fire" solar eclipse over the western United States to the first super blue moon in five years, and December will boast its own mesmerizing light show for stargazers of all ages.
The 2023 astronomical calendar has been packed with a variety of captivating celestial sights, and the year will conclude with a slate of events that includes a highly-anticipated meteor shower.
December's longer nights present more time for stargazing, including the chance to see the return of the famous constellation Orion. Early morning stargazers have been able to spot Orion for months, but the constellation will return to the evening sky before the end of the year, rising in the east every night around 8 p.m. local time.
From a "cold" moon to shooting stars, here are the astronomy events you won't want to miss this month:
Dec. 13-14: Geminid meteor shower
The last major astronomy event of 2023 will put on a dazzling display in the middle of the month, enticing onlookers to bundle up and brave the chilly December weather to catch a glimpse of some shooting stars.
On the night of Wednesday, Dec. 13, into the morning of Thursday, Dec. 14, the Geminid meteor shower will reach its peak. The annual mid-December event is known for producing over 100 shooting stars per hour, including the chance to see a few colorful meteors.

32,000 Babies Saved After Roe V. Wade Overturned: 'It's a Triumph'

A new study finds that more than 30,000 babies have been born that would have otherwise been aborted since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe V. Wade. The Institute of Labor Economics conducted a study that looked at the effects of the high court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. They found that 32,000 babies were born in states that have enacted some form of abortion restrictions. "Our primary analysis indicates that in the first six months of 2023, births rose by an average of 2.3 percent in states enforcing total abortion bans compared to a control group of states where abortion rights remained protected, amounting to approximately 32,000 additional annual births resulting from abortion bans," the study revealed. The researchers noted that the high court decision sparked the "most profound transformation of the landscape of U.S. abortion access in 50 years," based on preliminary birth data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). "Within hours of the decision, abortions were halted in 10 states, either in response to a ban triggered by the decision or to the expected enforcement of a pre-Roe abortion ban that was still on the books.
Over the weeks and months that followed, the landscape of abortion access continued to shift as more states sought to enact and enforce abortion bans and as some of those bans were challenged in state courts," the study described. It found that 23 percent of U.S. women of reproductive age have experienced an increase in driving distance to the nearest abortion facility, from an average of 43 miles one-way before Dobbs to 330 miles at present. While the authors argue that the data suggests that these babies are born into families with less financial stability because there is less abortion access, Kristan Hawkins, the president of Students for Life of America, told the New York Times, "It's a triumph that pro-life policies result in lives saved. Don't let anybody tell you that you can't make a difference in the world.
