Ghislaine Maxwell trial: late Jeffrey Epstein's longtime lover found guilty on 5 of 6 counts
|
|
British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell faces up to 65 years in prison after a Manhattan jury found her guilty of five of six counts against her for trafficking teens to be abused by her and late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
"A unanimous jury has found Ghislaine Maxwell guilty of one of the worst crimes imaginable – facilitating and participating in the sexual abuse of children," said U.S. Attorney for the Southern District Damian Williams. "Crimes that she committed with her long-time partner and co-conspirator, Jeffrey Epstein. The road to justice has been far too long. But, today, justice has been done."
He added: "I want to commend the bravery of the girls – now grown women – who stepped out of the shadows and into the courtroom. Their courage and willingness to face their abuser made this case, and today’s result, possible."
Maxwell, 60, sat still as U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan read the verdict. After the jurors were polled and affirmed their decision on each count, Maxwell poured herself a cup of water from a Fiji bottle and conferred with her attorney. When she was escorted from the courtroom, Maxwell briefly glanced at her two sisters and her brother seated in the front row.
Maxwell's family issued a joint statement Wednesday evening. "We believe firmly in our sister’s innocence," the statement said. "We are very disappointed with the verdict. We have already started the appeal tonight, and we believe that she will ultimately be vindicated."
During six days of deliberations – with a break for Christmas – the jury sent more than a dozen notes and requested the testimony of all four accusers as well as other witnesses. The panel also requested office supplies, including Post-it notes, white paper board and highlighters.
Prosecutors argued that Maxwell acted as the millionaire’s madam, recruiting and training four women between 1994 and 2004 when they were teenagers. (Fox News) Read more

- Lord God we are so thankful That our justice system worked in the favor of righteousness today in regards to this case. We ask Lord that this be a a new standard that is set as a sign and a warning to others who are doing the same thing that they will not be able to continue to get away with it. Further, we aren’t satisfied with this as we know that Maxwell it’s just one of many who worked for Jeffrey Epstein that did these kinds of things and we ask Lord that those people be brought to justice as well in Jesus name amen.

1. Syrian media: Israeli strike on Latakia port caused ‘significant’ damage - JNS
(December 28, 2021 / JNS) An Israeli missile strike on the container yard of Syria’s main commercial port early on Tuesday caused fires and extensive damage, Syrian state media reported. There were no reports of casualties.
Israel launched a “wave” of missiles at the Latakia port from the direction of the Mediterranean Sea at approximately 3:30 a.m., according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). The al-Nada Hospital and buildings adjacent to the port also suffered damage, the report stated.
Latakia Fire Brigade Commander Maj. Mohanad Jaafar told SANA that the targeted containers held “oils and spare parts for vehicles and cars.” However, according to the U.K.-based group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the containers held weapons and ammunition. Firefighting teams’ efforts to control the blaze at the port were delayed, due to fears of secondary explosions, according to SOHR. (Read more)

2. Liberman: 'There will be no lockdown, air travel must be reopened by January' - Israel National News
Israeli Finance Minister Avidgor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) said Wednesday that Israel would not impose a new lockdown, and called for the reopening of air travel to and from Israel by mid-January.
Speaking at a conference hosted by CalcalistWednesday morning, Liberman ruled out a new lockdown, “even if there are many confirmed cases”.
“We shouldn’t get frightened by nor should we ignore the Omicron variant. But the issue of the lockdown needs to be taken off the agenda, even if there are many confirmed cases. We need to learn to live with the coronavirus.” (Read more)

3. One wounded in cross-border shooting; IDF strikes Hamas positions in Gaza in response - JNS News
The Israeli military struck Hamas positions in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday following a cross-border shooting attack earlier in the day. An Israeli civilian working on the security fence near the northern Gaza Strip sustained minor injuries at noon, apparently due to Palestinian sniper fire, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said. Palestinian media reported that the Israeli military responded to the shooting with artillery fire towards a number of Hamas sites in the Strip.
The incident comes amid a series of lone-wolf terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem, as well as several security incidents involving Palestinian prisoners jailed in Israel, as well as threats of escalation by the Gaza-based terrorist groups.
The Defense Ministry said that the victim “is an employee of a civilian company contracted by the ministry, who carried out routine maintenance work on the security fence. He sustained minor injuries to his leg and was treated on-site before being evacuated to the Brazilian Medical Center in Ashkelon.”
Hamas, the terrorist group controlling the Gaza Strip, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad are frustrated by the impasse in the ceasefire talks with Israel and have increased their threats of escalation over the past few days.
The terrorist groups in the coastal enclave staged a massive military drill on Monday, practicing attacks against Israeli security forces. It included Hamas, the PIJ, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and the Popular Resistance Committees – a coalition of a number of small Palestinian terrorist groups in Gaza.
Palestinian media reported that the maneuvers “seek to convey political and military messages to Israel and the other mediators” that Hamas and the other groups in Gaza are growing impatient with the sluggish attempts to broker a long-term ceasefire between the Jewish state and the Islamist terrorist group.(Read more)

4. Israel ready to attack Iran regardless of new agreements, says Israeli PM - World Israel News
Speaking on Army Radio on Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that Israel will “maintain its right to act” against Iran regardless of any potential agreement that the Vienna talks might yield.
Reiterating comments made by Foreign Minister Yair Lapid on Monday, the Israeli premier emphasized that “Israel does not oppose any agreement,” noting that “a good agreement is a good thing … We don’t insist on saying ‘no’. There can certainly be a good agreement.”
But Israel will oppose an agreement “that does not promise real oversight of the Iranian nuclear program and Iran’s finances and terrorist network,” he stressed.
Bennett also confirmed that Israel had not provided any commitment to the United States about stopping its operations against Iran’s nuclear program, despite attempts made by the Biden administration to warn Israeli about such actions. (Read more)

5. Swastikas Graffitied at Borough Park Playground, as Antisemitic Hate Crimes Surge in NYC - Algemeiner
New York City police are investigating the graffitiing of two swastikas at a playground in Borough Park, amid a surge in antisemitic hate crimes this year.
The offensive symbols were discovered Sunday afternoon on a structure at Gravesend Park and reported to the voluntary neighborhood patrol group Boro Park Shomrim, who contacted the NYPD, according to a local outlet.
The incident, occurring in one of the largest Jewish communities in the United States, prompted condemnations from New York City leaders.
“Despicable hateful symbols will not be tolerated in our neighborhoods, nor any other neighborhood for that matter,” New York City Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein told a local paper on Sunday. “Those responsible will be found and brought to justice. I want to thank Boro Park Shomrim for their swift response to this latest antisemitic incident.” (Read more)

1. Marines say they’re being ‘crushed’ over vaccine refusal: ‘A political purge’ - Fox News
U.S. Marines are being “crushed” by President Biden’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate as thousands face dismissal for their continued refusal to get the shot, several active-duty Marines told Fox News Digital.
To date, 169 Marines have been discharged for refusing the vaccine, and thousands more face the same fate after the Department of Defense’s mandate on all active-duty service members went into effect for the Marine Corps on Nov. 28.
Marines are allowed to apply for a religious exemption, but so far not a single application regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, or any vaccine for that matter, has been approved, a Marine Corps spokesman told Fox News. (Read More)

2. Florida surgeon general says Biden admin ‘actively preventing’ monoclonal antibody treatments - Fox News
Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo accused the Biden administration of “actively preventing the effective distribution of monoclonal antibody treatments" in the United States, according to a Tuesday letter addressed to Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra.
The Biden administration recently paused shipments of COVID-19 antibody treatments manufactured by major drug companies Regeneron and Eli Lilly amid claims that such treatments are not effective against the omicron variant of the coronavirus.
The federal government continues to supply Sotrovimab, a monoclonal antibody from the company Glaxosmithkline, which reportedly does work against omicron. (Read More)

3. Trump Spokesman Taylor Budowich Sues January 6 Committee — and Pelosi - Brietbart
Taylor Budowich, the spokesman for former President Donald Trump, sued the United States House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack — and all of its members — on Friday after the committee subpoenaed his private financial records.
Budowich is the latest witness to sue the committee, accusing it of violating the Constitution and its own enabling House resolution. Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows sued the committee earlier this month, arguing that it is trampling on executive privilege and the separation of powers, and pointing out that it failed to comply with H. Res. 503 by rejecting Republican nominees to the committee and issuing subpoenas without consulting the ranking minority member
In his lawsuit, Budowich notes that he had cooperated fully with the committee until December 23, when he received notice from his bank, J.P. Morgan Chase, that it would provide his records to the committee to meet a December 24 deadline.
The committee, he says, refused to extend the deadline for compliance despite the holiday weekend. Moreover, Budowich had not even been given an opportunity to see the terms of the subpoena for his records, either by the bank or by the committee. (Read More)
- Lord God we pray and ask that this committee be brought down to its knees right now in the name of Jesus Christ. We forbid in the name of Jesus their plots, schemes and plans to be carried out any more.

4. Hobby Lobby Declares Christmas’ True Meaning in Powerful Ad: ‘Behold, the Lamb of God’ - Christian Headlines
Americans from coast to coast learned about the true meaning of Christmas in recent days thanks to a full-page Hobby Lobby advertisement celebrating the birth of Jesus.
Hobby Lobby ran a gospel-centric, Christmas-themed ad in newspapers across the country showing a painting of a toddler boy – representing a young Jesus – picking up nails on the shop floor as his earthly father, Joseph, tends to his works a few feet away. The sunshine through the adjacent window casts a shadow off Jesus in the shape of a cross.
“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. John 1:29,” the text reads. “If you would like to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, visit Need Him Ministry at ChatAboutJesus.com.”
The ad also contains a website where readers can download a free digital Bible. Hobby Lobby’s name is listed in small print. (Read more)

5. Westchester DA declines to prosecute Cuomo despite “credible” allegations of improper conduct - CBS News
The district attorney’s office in Westchester County has determined that two separate allegations of misconduct against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo were “credible,” but declined to bring charges. Two women separately accused Cuomo of inappropriate conduct, specifically kissing their cheeks while he was governor.
"Our investigation found credible evidence to conclude that the alleged conduct in both instances described above did occur," Westchester District Attorney Miriam Rocah said in a statement on Tuesday. "However, in both instances, my Office has determined that, although the allegations and witnesses were credible, and the conduct concerning, we cannot pursue criminal charges due to the statutory requirements of the criminal laws of New York."
Rocah's office was responsible for reviewing the two allegations of improper conduct that took place in her district, the New York City suburb where a state trooper and another woman said they were subjected to unwanted physical contact by the former governor.

- Lord God we thank you that even though it may look like certain individuals have special privileges and do not have to abide by the laws set for everyone else, your law is supreme and they will not escape your justice. So we take heart that evil will not go unpunished and we pray for those who seem to be escaping judgment now that they would find you and humble themselves while there is yet time. In Jesus name, amen.
- “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)

6. French officials close mosque after sermons target ‘targeting Christians, homosexuals and Jews’ - Just The News
French officials have closed a mosque following an imam’s sermons “targeting Christians, homosexuals and Jews.” France Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said two weeks ago that he was starting the process of closing the Great Mosque of Beauvais, in the northern French region of Oise, and gave it two weeks to respond, according to the British Broadcasting Corp.
The closure is part of French officials' recent, ongoing effort to check on Islamic places of worship suspected of having links to extremism. The mosque was reportedly closed in recent days, but the exact day remained unclear as of Wednesday.
The mosque will remain shut for six months, local authorities say, also according to the BBC. The sermons also reportedly called jihadist fighters "heroes" and incited hatred and violence. (Read more)

7. House Democrats Flock to the Exits Leading into Election Year - Brietbart
With the midterms less than a year away, 23 House Democrats have already announced they will not be running for reelection to retire from the public eye for wanting to be with family, focus on health, or say it is time to move on, while some Democrats are also looking to run for a different office, such as the U.S. Senate.
However, those reasons do not include redistricting, which has potentially influenced members’ decisions, such as Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL). Murphy said she is not running for reelection but claimed reasons other than redistricting even though her seat would essentially be torn in two and absorbed by other districts if the current proposed map passed the state’s legislature. All of this came after she was snubbed out of running for the Senate by Florida congressional colleague Rep. Val Demings (D-FL).
The 15 Democrats that have announced they are retiring from public office after the current term, which expires in January 2023. Additionally, eight Democrats have announced they are running for a different office. (Read more)

8. Biden says if medical team advises it, he'll issue domestic travel vaccine requirement - The Hill
President Biden said Tuesday he would impose a mandate that Americans be vaccinated against COVID-19 to travel domestically if his medical team recommends it. When asked when he would make a decision on domestic travel vaccine requirements while out for a walk in Rehoboth Beach, Del., Biden told reporters, "when I get a recommendation from the medical team."
The idea of mandating coronavirus vaccines for domestic travel has been bouncing around the administration for months, and the emergence of the omicron variant caused the White House to revisit questions over whether to impose it.
Biden last month said he would wait for the scientific community to give him a recommendation when asked if consideration has been given to domestic flights requiring tests or vaccines. (Read more)

9. Biden admin asks Supreme Court to review 'Remain in Mexico' ruling - Fox News
The Biden administration asked the Supreme Court on Wednesday if it is required to continue the Trump-era policy that mandates asylum seekers at the U.S. southern border wait in Mexico until their cases are heard.
Established by the Trump administration in January 2019, the "Remain in Mexico" policy, or Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), returned migrants to Mexico to await asylum hearings instead of keeping them in the United States.
The Trump administration presented the policy at the time as an important part of its efforts to end "catch-and-release" and stem the flow of illegal immigration. Critics of the policy claim the policy was cruel and put migrants at risk of violence and exploitation in Mexico.
President Biden campaigned against the MPP and tried to get rid of it following his inauguration, but his attempts were blocked by a federal court after Texas and Missouri sued. (Read more)

- Lord God, this policy to "Remain in Mexico" is one that secures our borders and protects our people. We ask that the Justices consider these facts when they weigh their response to Biden's petition. In Your Name, amen.

Stupidocrisy: The Friendly Skies
The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, December 29, 2021
COVID Czar Anthony Fauci has gone from mask-no mask-mask to whatever and now he would welcome airlines requiring everyone who flies on a domestic flight to not only wear a mask, but to have the government-mandated COVID serum, ah, sorry, vaccination. This, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, must also include pilots. A group of attorneys and doctors have written the FAA, “That Both the FAA & Commercial Airline Industry Appear to Have Violated Long-Standing CFR Regulations Which Disallow Medical Clearance of Pilots Who Have Received Non-FDA Approved Products – Lest “Aeromedically Significant Adverse Effects Manifest.” In other words, this mandate endangers everyone who flies.
The letter notes that the FAA has violated its own regulation that “Disallows medical clearance of Pilots who have consumed non-FDA approved products like COVID vaccines” and that the FAA appears “to be putting both pilots and the general public at risk of death and/or serious injury” by ignoring this regulation for COVID vaccinated pilots. The letter, signed by citizens’ rights activists, lawyers, doctors, pilots and military officers, cites specific examples of pilots who were adversely affected by the vaccine and had to be grounded as safety risks. The group also demands that the government medically flag all vaccinated pilots and have them tested for blood clotting and cardiac health. If they fail the tests, they must be grounded, according to the letter. Read More

Top Medical Expert Rips Biden’s Handling Of Pandemic On CNN:
‘I Cannot Believe This Is Where We Are’
|
|
|
Dr. Ashish Jha, Dean of the Brown University School of Public Health, blasted President Joe Biden’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic during a CNN interview on Tuesday, saying that the administration has “dropped the ball.”
“And so you saw President Biden yesterday acknowledging pretty bluntly they need to do better when it comes to testing, because we are seeing this nationwide shortage of those rapid at home tests. It’s very difficult to just walk into a store and get one,” CNN’s Kaitlan Collins said. “And what we’re hearing from officials like Dr. Fauci is that they believe they’re going to have this solved by mid-January, in a few weeks. But how critical is the window that we’re missing right now for testing?”
“I think it is incredibly critical,” Jha responded. “And I cannot believe this is where we are almost two years into the pandemic. Everybody saw it coming. We knew we needed more tests. I think the administration had dropped the ball on this. They focused a lot on vaccines, which is terrific. Vaccines are a really, really important part of this, but did not pay enough attention to testing. And I think it has been really costly in this holiday season.” (Read More)

Gold ring with Jesus symbol among treasure found in ancient shipwreck
|
|
Israeli researchers on Wednesday displayed a Roman-era golden ring with an early Christian symbol for Jesus inscribed in its gemstone, found in a shipwreck off the ancient port of Caesarea. The thick octagonal gold ring with its green gemstone bore the figure of the “Good Shepherd” in the form of a young shepherd boy in a tunic with a ram or sheep across his shoulders.
The ring was found among a trove of third-century Roman coins, as well as a bronze eagle figurine, bells to ward off evil spirits, pottery, and a Roman pantomimus figurine in a comic mask, the Israel Antiquities Authority said in a statement. “The spectacular items, were part of a cargo of two ships, which exploded off the shores of Caesarea during the Roman and royal period (about 1,700 years ago and about 600 years ago), and were revealed in a submarine survey of the Ancient Authority’s marine archaeology in recent months,” the group said in a Facebook post.
A red gemstone with a carving of a lyre was also found in the relatively shallow waters, as well as remains of the wooden hull of the ship, the authority said. The researchers said the scattered debris of the ship suggests it went down in a powerful storm. “Many metal parts belonging to a wooden ship body were discovered, including dozens of large bronze signs, lead pipes belonging to a water pump, and a large iron anchor, which was broken – a testimony to the power of the multi-power that worked on it until it was broken, apparently, in the storm,” the authority said.
Caesarea was the local capital of the Roman empire in the third century, and its port was a key hub for Rome’s activity, according to Helena Sokolov, a curator at the IAA’s coin department who researched the Good Shepherd ring. Sokolov said that while the image exists in early Christian symbolism, representing Jesus as a caring shepherd, tending to his flock and guiding those in need, finding it on a ring was rare.
The presence of such a symbol on a ring probably owned by a Roman operating in or around Caesarea made sense, given the ethnically and religiously heterogenous nature of the port in the third century, when it was one of Christianity’s earliest centers. (Holynewsdaily) Read more

New Year's Day Sunrise Prayer Relay
Here's the invitation from Warwick Marsh and Pat Steele of the Canberra Declaration:
Wherever you are at sunrise on New Year’s Day, let’s pray together for your family and friends, your town or city, your nation and the nations to know Jesus.
We invite our brothers and sisters in Christ, prayer groups and churches to join us all around the world to pray at sunrise on New Year’s Day. Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. ( 2 Corinthians 6:2)
On New Year’s Day 2021, people at over a thousand locations in over 70 nations participated in the Sunrise Prayer Relay, and we are believing for even more in 2022.
Your prayer gathering could be at a public location like a hill, lookout, bridge, public landmark, at a church in your city or town, or you can also pray privately in your home. These prayer gatherings at sunrise around the world generate a synchronised 24-hour global prayer relay.
We suggest that you arrive 15 minutes before your local sunrise time to pray for around 30 minutes or longer if you feel so led. We encourage you to pray together aloud as the sun rises, and make a declaration that “Jesus is Lord” of your life, your family, your region, your nation and the nations.

Praise Him, Praise Him
To listen to this classic hymn, CLICK HERE
Words: Fanny Crosby
Music: Chester Allen
Scripture: I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Psalm 146:2
Lyrics:
Praise Him, praise Him—
Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer,
Sing, O earth, His wonderful love proclaim.
Hail Him! hail Him! highest archangels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children,
In His arms He carries them all day long:
O ye saints that dwell on the mountain of Zion,
Praise Him, praise Him ever in joyful song.
Praise Him, praise Him—
Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer,
For our sins He suffered, and bled, and died;
He our rock, our hope of eternal salvation,
Hail Him, hail Him, Jesus the Crucified.
Loving Savior, meekly enduring sorrow,
Crowned with thorns that cruelly pierced His brow;
Once for us rejected, despised and forsaken,
Prince of Glory, He is triumphant now.
Praise Him, praise Him—
Jesus, our blessèd Redeemer,
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring,
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever.
Crown Him! Crown Him—
Prophet, and Priest, and King!
Death is vanquished! Tell it with joy, ye faithful.
Where is now thy victory, boasting grave?
Jesus lives! No longer thy portals are cheerless;
Jesus lives, the mighty and strong to save.
