Christian Soccer Star Writes ‘Jesus’ Message on the LGBT Armband He Was Forced to Wear
A Christian soccer player could be sanctioned for writing “I love Jesus” over an LGBT armband he was forced to wear during a 90-minute match. The controversy unfolded Tuesday after Marc Guehi, a defender with the Premier League soccer club Crystal Palace, scrawled “I love Jesus” on a rainbow armband that team captains were required to wear, ESPN reported. The armbands were issued to all 20 Premiere League soccer clubs to express support for the LGBT agenda. Guehi, a devout Christian, is the son of a church minister, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reported. While he donned the armband, he chose to write a religious slogan on top of the rainbow.

In response, England’s Football Association issued a warning, reminding the soccer star that wearing a religious message on his uniform is banned under league rules. Rule A4 of FA regulations states that any violation of this rule could result in sanctions against the player and his team, per ESPN. Marc Guehi’s father, Minister John Guehi, slammed the FA’s double standards, pointing out that a Muslim player who had refused to wear the armband was not punished, according to the Mail. He also accused the British Football Association of pandering to the LGBT community and prioritizing its warped agenda over Christian beliefs. “If you look at what the LGBT community are doing, they are trying to impose on others what they believe in,” John Guehi told the Mail. He continued: “Marc is a devout Christian, the son of a church minister, and he accepted to put the arm band on to welcome everyone in football. But the problem we have now is that players are being used as spokespeople now.” (Western Journal) Read More Here

- Lord we thank You for every opportunity given to a believer to stand bold in faith, regardless of the backlash that may come for being a Christ follower.  We decree in Jesus Name that all plans of the enemy will be thwarted and no backlash will come against this young man for simply revealing his belief.  We ask that any persecution against this player or any believer would only serve to lift high the Name of Jesus Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords. Protect this young man and so many others who are standing boldly for the cause of Christ, so that Your holy Name will be honored and praised by every tongue and every nation! In the mighty and powerful name of Yeshua- Amen.

- "Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."  (Philippians 2:9-11)

Biden Pledges US Support for Syria, Its Neighbors After Collapse of Assad Regime
The president described the fall of the regime as ‘a moment of historic opportunity’ for Syrians and ‘a moment of risk and uncertainty.’

WASHINGTON—President Joe Biden addressed the nation on Dec. 8 from the White House, praising the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria while expressing caution over the immediate uncertainty for the country and the region.

The president said his administration will engage with Syrian groups to assist in creating a new government for an independent and sovereign Syria.

“At long last, the Assad regime has fallen,” Biden said. “This regime brutalized, tortured, and killed literally hundreds of thousands of innocent Syrians. A fall of the regime is a fundamental act of justice.”

Biden described the fall of the regime as “a moment of historic opportunity” for Syrians and “a moment of risk and uncertainty.”

He said that the Syrian people would decide the process of forming a new government.

“The United States will do whatever we can to support them, including through humanitarian relief, to help restore Syria after more than a decade of war,” Biden said. (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

- Lord, we pray for all the nations all over the world that they would repent, turn from their wicked ways, and serve you. We pray for wisdom for our leaders that they would handle this situation correctly, in Jesus name. And Lord, we cover the church in Syria that you would supernaturally provide and protect them. In Your Name, Amen.

Trump Plans to Pardon Jan. 6 Defendants
on First Day in Office

President-elect Donald Trump announced on Dec. 8 that he will move to pardon those pursued by the Department of Justice in relation to the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach.

“I’m going to be acting very quickly,” Trump said in an interview with “Meet the Press” anchor Kristen Welker, clarifying that he would begin the process of considering pardons for the nearly 1,500 people charged in connection with the event starting on his first day in office.

“These people have been there for how long? It’s three, four years. You know, by the way, they’ve been in there for years, and they’re in a filthy, disgusting place that shouldn’t even be allowed to be open,” Trump said, referencing the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Jail, a facility that has long been dubbed the “gulag” by its critics.

The promise to pardon those charged in connection with the events of the day—including many arrested, convicted, and incarcerated for nonviolent offenses—was a pillar of Trump’s campaign for reelection in 2024.

In the interview, Trump said that he would be looking at individual cases and that there “may be some exceptions to it,” such as “if somebody was radical, crazy,” he said, adding that “there might be some people from Antifa there.” (The Epoch Times) Read more here.

UnitedHealthcare CEO murder sends executives scrambling to hire security: experts
A manhunt gripped New York City after UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was killed in a targeted shooting

The Wednesday assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson will "heighten [executives'] awareness of vulnerabilities" and likely lead to a wave of new security contracts, experts told Fox News Digital.

In an ambush caught on surveillance video, a gunman with his face covered aimed a pistol with a silencer at Thompson at 6:46 a.m. Wednesday outside the Midtown Hilton Hotel and shot the executive three times.

Former New York Homeland Security adviser Michael Balboni told Fox News Digital that at least one prospective client, the head of a large financial institution, specifically mentioned the shooting when calling to ask after an executive-protection assessment through his company, Redland Strategies Inc.

"In the short term, this incident highlights the need to perform threat assessments on not just infrastructure or systems, but key personnel as well," he said. "As a result, security personnel should be busy." (Fox News) Read more here.

1. Amb. Danon to UN: Israel's presence in Syria is temporary - Israel National News

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon on Monday sent an urgent letter to Linda Thomas-Greenfield, President of the United Nations Security Council, regarding the IDF's recent entry into Syria and the recent developments on the Syrian-Israeli border.

In the letter, Danon wrote, "Two days ago, on Saturday December 7th armed groups entered the aforementioned Area of Separation, targeted UNDOF forces, temporarily took control of several UNDOF outposts, and looted equipment belonging to UNDOF, putting the safety and security of United Nations personnel at grave risk. The IDF assisted the UN forces in repelling the attack. It is essential to emphasize that any military presence in this area is prohibited under the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel which, as United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions expressly stipulate, no military forces, other than those of UNDOF, shall be present in the Area of Separation."

"In response to this evolving security threat and the danger posed by it to Israel – particularly to the residents of the Golan Heights - Israel has taken limited and temporary measures to counter any further threat to its citizens. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have deployed temporarily in few points and in a limited capacity east of Line A, focusing on specific locations where defensive measures are necessary to maintain security, stability, and preventing armed groups from threatening Israeli territory. 2. Serious security breach: Drones infiltrate IAF base, taking photographs - Israel National News

UAVs are infiltrating the IAF base in Nevatim in southern Israel, photographing strategic points in the area, i24NEWS reported.

According to the report, the drones infiltrate the base from nearby Ar'ara Banegev and photograph pilots' living quarters, military structures, soldiers, pilots' families, and others.

The IAF said that it is trying to fight the phenomenon in a variety of ways, but that an effective solution has not yet been found.

Israel Police said that the IDF's report is received a day or two after the events occur, and not in real time, making it difficult to locate and arrest suspects in the matter. (Read more)

3. Defense Minister meets bereaved families: Goal of eliminating Hamas remains unchanged - Israel National News

Representatives of bereaved families from the Gvura Forum met on Monday evening with Defense Minister Israel Katz.

The meeting took place amid concerns expressed in recent days by members of the forum over the discussions of a ceasefire. During the meeting, Minister Katz declared that there would be no complete cessation of the war until Hamas is decisively defeated and all hostages—both alive and deceased—are returned. Regarding the northern border, the Defense Minister stated that there would be a response to any threat or violation of the ceasefire.

Katz also stressed during the meeting that the State of Israel is determined to achieve all the objectives of the war, including the return of all hostages and the dismantling of Hamas.

"Even if there is a ceasefire in order to return the hostages, the goal of eliminating Hamas remains unchanged. The war will not stop as long as even one hostage remains in Gaza. We must dismantle Hamas and destroy it while ensuring the hostages' return," he said. (Read more)

4. Rothman proposes bill to change all mentions of ‘West Bank’ in Israeli Law to ‘Judea and Samaria’ - Jerusalem Post

MK Simcha Rothman (Religious Zionist Party) proposed a bill on Monday, so that in all Israeli legislation, the term “West Bank” – the area to the West of the Jordan River captured from Jordan during the Six Day War (1967) – will be replaced with the region’s biblical name, “Judea and Samaria.”

According to the bill’s preamble, “Judea and Samaria are inseparable parts of the historic homeland of the Jewish people. The most seminal events in our history occurred in these areas, where our forefathers, prophets, sages, and kings established their capital and kingdoms. In contrast, the term ‘West Bank,’ which originated during a period of foreign rule, reflects a colonialist perspective that disregards the deep historical connection of the Jewish people to its land.”

The preamble adds that the bill “seeks to regulate the use of the term ‘Judea and Samaria’ in Israeli legislation, replacing other terms that refer to the same geographic area. This change aligns with the broader trend of strengthening Israel’s connection to the region and preserving the historical rights of the Jewish people.” (Read more

5. Netanyahu to Israeli public: ‘We’re dismantling the Iranian axis piece by piece’ - JNS

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the significance of the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria and spoke of Israel’s progress in the “existential war” forced upon it during a nationally televised press conference on Monday, which ended in a fiery back-and-forth with reporters.

“Yesterday, a new chapter opened, a dramatic chapter, in the history of the Middle East,” the prime minister said. “TheAssad regime in Syria, a central link in Iran’s axis of evil, has collapsed after 54 years.”

Amid the chaos, the Israeli Air Force has carried out numerous strikes in Syria today, taking out weaponry Israel fears could fall into the hands of hostile forces.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stood along the Syrian border with Israel on Sunday afternoon, hailing the end of Syria's Bashar al-Assad's 14-year rule and claiming Israel's "blows inflicted on Iran and Hezbollah" had a direct impact on the Syrian revolution.

3. Katz orders IDF to create security zone beyond border with Syria - JNS.org

Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the Israel Defense Forces to create a secure area free of “heavy strategic weapons and terror infrastructure” beyond the buffer zone with Syria, the Defense Ministry announced Monday.

Katz said he had instructed the IDF to establish full control over the demilitarized buffer zone in the Golan Heights, which was established by the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement between Damascus and Jerusalem and ended the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

The defense minister also ordered the continued destruction of strategic weapons that were previously held by the regime and Iranian-backed militias to prevent their falling into the hands of terrorist forces. Among these weapons are “surface-to-air missiles, air defense systems, surface-to-surface missiles, cruise missiles, long-range rockets and coast-to-sea missiles,” according to the ministry. Speaking at the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe ministerial meeting in Malta, Lavrov accused the West of reviving the Cold War and provoking a direct conflict with Russia.

“The result is the reincarnation of the Cold War, but now with the far greater risk of its escalation into the hot phase.”

Blinken, who spoke after Lavrov left the room, put the blame for escalation in the region back on Russia, noting that the Russian foreign minister, the fourth speaker, did not stick around to listen to other speakers. (Read more)

Your Place On The Ladder

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, December 9, 2024

We make a big deal in America about climbing the ladder of success. There are those who are willing to step over and on others to achieve the top of the ladder. But is this the ladder with which any of us should be concerned? There is a ladder of far greater importance and your place on it may mean eternal life or death. In Genesis 28 is the story of Jacob’s Ladder. Jacob comes to a “certain place” (ba’makom) and lays his head down on a stone and sleeps. He had a dream of a ladder reaching to heaven, and the angels of ADONAI (the LORD) were going up and down on it.  Suddenly ADONAI was standing beside him, He said, “I am ADONAI, the God of Abraham, your (grand) father and the God of Isaac” (v 13).

ADONAI repeats the same promise made to both Abraham and Isaac, that the land he was laying on would be given to him and his descendants as numerous as the grains of dust on the earth. Some Jewish commentators say the ladder signifies the encounter between God and the human soul known as prayer. In Jewish tradtion, there are three daily prayers, the morning prayer, shaharit, attributed to Abraham when he stood in the morning looking out (praying) toward Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:27); the afternoon prayer, minha, attributed to Isaac as he prayed in the field awaiting Rebecca’s arrival (Genesis 24:62-64); and the evening prayer, ma’ariv, representing Jacob’s encounter with God in the night, when God speaks to him and he sees the great vision of the ladder and the angels of God (Genesis 28:12). 2. US will remain in eastern Syria and seek to prevent IS resurgence, Pentagon says - Reuters

MANAMA, Dec 8 (Reuters) - The United States will maintain its presence in eastern Syria and will take measures necessary to prevent a resurgence of Islamic State, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the Middle East Daniel Shapiro said on Sunday.

Speaking hours after Syrian rebels announced they had toppled Bashar al-Assad's government, Shapiro called on all parties to protect civilians, particularly minorities, and to respect international norms.

"We are aware that the chaotic and dynamic circumstances on the ground in Syria could give ISIS space to find the ability to become active, to plan external operations, and we're determined to work with those partners to continue to degrade their capabilities," he told the Manama Dialogue security conference in Bahrain's capital.

"(We're determined) to ensure (Islamic State's) enduring defeat, to ensure the secure detention of ISIS fighters and the repatriation of displaced persons," Shapiro added. (Read more)

3. 10 ways to pray for Syria - Open Doors

In the past 48 hours, Syria has faced an unprecedented escalation in its ongoing crisis. This morning, reports emerged that President Bashar al-Assad—who has ruled Syria for more than 20 years—has fled the country amidst escalating violence and political turmoil.

The situation is volatile. But Christian leaders remain committed to serving their communities, even as they face unprecedented challenges and uncertainty as they navigate the new reality.

And we must pray with Christians in Syria!

“Syrian Christians are asking us to pray for peace, for wisdom, and for the new leadership of the country to be committed to reconciliation for all Syrians,” Summers says. “Christians are also asking us to pray that they will be lights of hope and peace in the midst of a chaotic time in Syria’s history.”

Here are 10 ways you can pray for the church in Syria:

Please: Stand with God’s people in prayer!

Thank you for praying.

A Letter from France
Dear friends,

This morning I received a letter from Jeannie who lives outside of Paris, France.

Her words really touched my heart, in the aftermath of President Trump's visit to her
country this past weekend, so I share them with you now.

In His Grace,

Sara Ballenger, CHPP

Hi Sara!

How are you? I hope well! So much happening lately, and here in Europe I just feel surrounded by so much turmoil, I mean ESPECIALLY here.

And our wonderful President Trump was super well received here- and funny how all the leaders are just [ cozying ] up to him now! Before, the French press (several years ago) treated him (of course) like a buffoon! But THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!! :)

I keep thinking, these days, of what I believe the book of Revelation says about “Wars and rumors of wars…”  I really believe that the tribulation and the Rapture and the rise of the antichrist are all imminent!! Does that mean 5 days, 5 years, etc?? Who knows, but I feel it!!

Philippines' Kanlaon volcano erupts, shooting ash 2.5 miles into the sky and prompting mass evacuation

Manila — A volcano briefly erupted in the central Philippines on Monday, sending a huge ash column high into the sky as the government ordered the evacuation of surrounding villages. Rising more than 8,000 feet above sea level on the central island of Negros, Kanlaon is one of 24 active volcanoes in the Philippines.

A nearly four-minute eruption Monday afternoon sending a 2.5-mile ash column above the crater and a deadly spurt of hot ash, gases and fragmented volcanic rock about 2 miles down the mountain's southeast flank, officials told a news conference. They warned that more explosive eruptions could follow shortly.

"Getting hit by these pyroclastic density currents is like being run over by a high-speed vehicle," said Maria Antonia Bornas, volcano monitoring chief of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. Read More
