Senate Passes 'Disrespect for Marriage' Act Without Religious Liberty Protections
On Tuesday night, the U.S. Senate passed the so-called "Respect for Marriage" Act which critics say invites "predatory lawsuits" against people of faith, stigmatizes biblical values, and drives Christians from the public square. Although nearly all Senate Republicans voted for amendments demanding greater respect for religious liberty, 12 Republicans voted for the unamended bill - and against the interests of their own voters, according to pro-family organizations.

H.R. 8404, which skeptics call the “Disrespect for Marriage” Act, requires all 50 states to recognize any marriage legally recognized by any other state and gives individuals the right to sue if they feel they have been harmed by people who believe in natural marriage. After the Senate rejected a series of religious liberty amendments, a dozen Republicans sided with Senate Democrats in the 61-36 vote for final passage. Two of its supporters, Senators Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), had served as co-chairs of the congressional Values Action Team, “dedicated to advancing pro-life and pro-family policies.”

“These 12 senators are literally putting a target on their base and driving them out of political engagement,” said Family Research Council President Tony Perkins shortly after the vote. “This bill is a club, with which the Left will attempt to beat people of orthodox faith — who believe in marriage as God designed it and history has defined — into submission.”

“My experience as a former chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has shown me that religious freedom’s greatest threat is not a military force that eradicates or suppresses religious freedom,” Perkins added. It comes from “policies like the so-called Respect for Marriage Act,” which lead to the “systematic suppression and eventual loss” of religious liberty. (The Stand) Read more here.
- Father God, we thank You that Your Word is true and does not lie. At a time like this, we look to Your Word for guidance, and we are comforted when the Word literally strengthens our souls. We REPENT that this travesty has now hit our nation,
and we ask for Your mercy in time of need, amen.

Mohler Warns on Dems' Marriage Bill: 'They're Coming for Us'
When the Senate floor came to a screeching halt Monday evening, there was hope that the Republicans' 12 marriage defectors were on the verge of making things right. For two and a half hours, the chamber was at a virtual standstill - crawling toward the 60 votes needed to move the so-called Respect for Marriage Act forward. A little before 8:00 p.m., the spell was broken, along with any confidence that the GOP's dozen Democrat enablers would have a change of heart.

Over the long weekend, Senators Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) and Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) had hinted at breaking with the 12, throwing their support behind Senator Mike Lee’s (R-Utah) airtight religious freedom amendment. Those soundbites ultimately turned out to be meaningless, since they refused to make Lee’s changes a condition of their support for the overall bill. “Any Republican who supports my amendment should oppose cloture unless the amendment is adopted,” Lee emphasized to The Daily Signal.

But by Monday’s end, the dozen deserters stuck to their misguided path, providing all the votes Democrats needed to push their radical legislation closer to the finish line.
Like so many Christians, Dr. Albert Mohler couldn’t believe the cowardice. “You know, I want to say to those 12 Republicans, understand what you’re doing. …You’re making the case weaker against religious liberty. You’re making the case against Christians stronger in terms of the political power of those who can say, ‘Look, this is now a bipartisan agreement. Those [of you] who are not ready to celebrate same-sex marriage, you’re woefully out of step. You deserve to be censured. You should be canceled,’” he predicted on “Washington Watch.” “And even [these Republicans] say, ‘That’s not what this bill is about.’ If you have to say, ‘That’s not what this bill is about,’ guess what? That’s what this bill is about.” (The Stand) Read more.

- Lord God Almighy in heaven, we fear not what man can do to us, but we fear
going into eternity without You. Help us, O Lord, to be strengthened in the inner man
for what may lie ahaed for we are confident that -- no matter what -- all will be turned
to good in the end. In Your Mighty Name we offer this prayer, amen and amen.

- "Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world." (I John 4:4)

Russia's Medvedev Warns NATO Over Supplying Ukraine With Patriot Systems

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned NATO on Tuesday against providing Ukraine with Patriot missile defence systems, denouncing the alliance as a "criminal entity" for delivering arms to what he called "extremist regimes".

"If, as (NATO Secretary-General Jens) Stoltenberg hinted, NATO were to supply the Ukrainian fanatics with Patriot systems along with NATO personnel, they would immediately become a legitimate target of our armed forces," Medvedev wrote on the Telegram messaging app.

It was not clear from his message whether he was referring to Patriot systems, Ukrainian forces or NATO personnel becoming a target. (US News) Read more.

1. UN to mark ‘Nakba Day’ - Israel’s establishment as catastrophe - Jerusalem Post

The UN General Assembly voted Wednesday afternoon in favor of holding a commemorative event in honor of the 75th “Nakba Day,” the Palestinian name for Israel’s establishment, which translates to “catastrophe.”

The vote was 90-30, with 47 abstentions. The United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom were among those who opposed the move. Most of the European Union also rejected the, save for Cyprus which supported the measure.

Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan called in his address ahead of the vote for the UN to “stop ignoring the Jewish Nakba,” referring to the 750,000 Jews expelled from Arab and Muslim countries in the aftermath of Israel’s establishment. (Read more)

2. Netanyahu, Smotrich said to inch closer to finalizing deal to form government - Times of Israel

After their third marathon meeting in 24 hours, the Likud and Religious Zionism parties are said to have made progress in the distribution of portfolios in the expected coalition, with Religious Zionism head Bezalel Smotrich and Shas leader Aryeh Deri reportedly set to rotate as finance minister.

Marking the uptick in progress, Army Radio and Channel 12 news said Likud and Religious Zionism may sign a coalition deal as early as Wednesday.

During their Tuesday night meeting, Likud chief Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly agreed to give Smotrich the first stint at the head of the Treasury, and in the second half of the government’s term, Religious Zionism would receive the interior ministry and either the transportation or education ministry, the reports said. (Read more)

3. A New Battalion Joins the IDF: The Panther Battalion - Israel National News

The 49th Panther Battalion is joining the Border Protection Corps in the Israeli Ground Forces. The battalion was established as part of a lesson drawn from Operation “Break the Wave.” The operation outlined the need to establish a battalion that would routinely operate in the Judea and Samaria security barrier in place of the reserve units that were dispatched to the area for prolonged operational activities during the operation.

The Panther Battalion will include both male and female soldiers who will be trained at rifleman level 06, the highest level available to female soldiers. The battalion’s training will be led by the Israeli Ground Forces and will last approximately six months. The physical competence of the battalion’s soldiers will be identical to that of soldiers from other battalions and will also include additional unique skills that are required for its specific region of operation.

Today, the first of the soldiers who will make up the new battalion enlisted in the IDF. The soldiers will begin their operational activities in the Judea and Samaria security barrier next year, after completing their training. (Read more)

4. Palestinian Islamic Jihad threatens Ben-Gvir's life - Israel Hayom

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group on Monday threatened the life of far-right Otmza Yehudit leader Itamar Ben-Gvir.

"Ben-Gvir will suffer the same fate as Rehavam Zeevi," said the PIJ, referring to a former Israeli minister that was assassinated in October of 2001 by a squad of Palestinians terrorists acting on behalf of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

PIJ spokesman Tarek Ezz El-Din said that Zeevi "carried the ideology of a transfer and expulsion of the Arabs from the land of Palestine and as a result, he was expelled from life by Palestinians." (Read more)

5. 3,000-Year-Old Seal Found on School Trip Near Tel Aviv - Algemeiner

A 3,000-year-old seal was unearthed during a school field trip in central Israel, the country’s antiquity authority announced Wednesday.

Crafted in the shape of a dung beetle, the artifact was found in Azor, some four miles southeast of Tel Aviv.

“We were wandering around, when I saw something that looked like a small toy on the ground,” recounted Gilad Stern of the Israel Antiquity Authority Educational Center, who led the eighth-grade field trip.

He felt compelled to pick it up, and to his astonishment, found “the dream of every amateur archaeologist” — a scarab seal “with a clearly inscribed scene,” Stern said in a statement released by the IAA. “The pupils were really excited!” (Read more)

1. Kilmeade presses Biden spokesman on Pentagon's new findings on Afghanistan exit: 'Disaster' - Fox News

The White House pushed back on a bombshell Department of Defense report alleging the Chinese utilized the U.S.' Afghanistan withdrawal as a propaganda gift to undermine American influence across the globe.

"Fox & Friends" co-host Brian Kilmeade grilled National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby over the report, calling out the Biden administration for its handling of what many critics call the botched exit and how it impacted alliances.

"Nations like China and Russia took a look at what we did in Afghanistan, and we've talked about this many, many times over the last year, and had to marvel at the speed, the efficiency of their effectiveness that very small number… of troops… are able to move that many Afghans safely out of that country," Kirby said Wednesday. "No other nation in the world can do that." (Read more)

- Lord God, we are so thankful that the true intentions of the pull out of Afghanistan has been revealed! Because of the withdrawal, many died including American soldiers. In addition, now China and all of the other nations realize how weak this administration really is. We just ask for payback Lord. We ask for recompense for all the lives lost and all the bribes and evil deals that are done behind the scenes. In Jesus name amen.

- “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done” (Revelation 22:12)

2. Biden admin set to impose another rule on US oil and gas while courting Venezuelan oil - Fox News

The Biden administration this week proposed new rules aimed at limiting methane leaks from oil and gas drilling on federal lands. The proposal, released Monday by the Interior Department's Bureau of Land Management, would put limitations on gas flaring on federal land and require energy companies to detect methane leaks better.

The proposal follows another plan announced by Biden during a global climate conference in Egypt earlier this month. The Nov. 11 proposal targets the oil and gas industry for what the administration says is its role in global warming.

Monday’s proposal would prevent billions of cubic feet of natural gas from being wasted through venting, flaring and leaks, boosting efficiency while at the same time reducing pollution, administration officials said. The rule would impose monthly limits on flaring and charge fees for flaring that exceeds those limits. (Read more)

- Lord God, we continue to lift the Biden administration up to you and pray Lord that they would seek your face every day on the best direction for this nation. We pray that they would seek you for wisdom and strength on the best choices for the American people. In Jesus name, amen.

3. Balenciaga finally cops to mistakes in disturbing BDSM ad campaign, condemns child abuse amid scandal - New York Post

Amid fierce backlash, Balenciaga has doubled down on its stance for the controversial ad campaign that depicted kids alongside bondage-style attire and a child pornography court ruling. The Kering-owned fashion house released its mea culpa in an Instagram post on Monday afternoon.

“We strongly condemn child abuse; it was never our intent to include it in the narrative,” the luxury couture company wrote in the statement. Balenciaga — which has been associated with the likes of Kim Kardashian — was referring to a series of ads featuring children in Balenciaga apparel, holding plush toys that wear bondage get-ups.

Needless to say, the brand was quick to pull the ads, and now is condemning the controversial campaign, writing: “Our plush bear bags and the gift collection should have not been featured with children.”
“This was a wrong choice by Balenciaga, combined with our failure in assessing and validating images,” the fashion label added. “The responsibility for this lies with Balenciaga alone.” (Read more)

- Lord God, as we are finding out, this Balenciaga campaign is not the only campaign that the company has made using children in a derogatory sexual manner. We ask that this company and others like it would be held accountable. We pray the families that own these companies would be exposed and all the celebrities that wear these company's products would be exposed in Jesus name. We cut down and tear down the spiritual root to the sexualization, mistreatment of children and child trafficking all over the world by the blood of Jesus. Amen.

- “Be careful that you not corrupt one of these little ones. For I can assure you that in heaven each of their guardian angels always sees the face of my heavenly Father.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18‬:‭10‬‬)

4. Survivor of communist China warns CCP will use 'any means necessary' to end protests before ceding control - Fox News

A survivor of Mao Zedong’s communist revolution warned on Tuesday that the Chinese Communist Party will use "any means necessary" to stop the uprising against Xi Jinping's zero-COVID policy, which has been blamed for a number of deaths in the nation.

Chaos and violent clashes between police and protesters persisted in towns across China this week as the leader of the Chinese Communist Party tightened his grip on the nation's COVID lockdowns and protesters ramped up demands for an end to Xi's reign over the country.

Xi Van Fleet, a Virginia mother who endured Zedong's Cultural Revolution before immigrating to the U.S., described the uprising as a "watershed moment" in an interview on "The Story" Tuesday. She offered insight into Jinping's behavior based on her experience under communist rule.

- Lord God, we stand for justice in this situation. We pray for great maturity and wisdom for our brothers and sisters in China. This is a dangerous moment. We pray that the walls that limit the spread of the gospel, the walls that limit the light of Christ across China, will come down and that freedom and room for Your church to grow would be established. We pray that the Church will continue to grow there, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it."

5. NATO seeks to shore up Russia's neighbours as Moscow attacks Ukraine on multiple fronts - Reuters

Russia said its forces had edged forward in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday and Kyiv said Moscow was "planning something" in the south, while NATO sought to shore up other countries that fear destabilisation from Moscow.

Ukraine's General Staff said earlier that its troops had repelled six Russian attacks in 24 hours in the eastern Donbas region, while Russian artillery had relentlessly shelled across the Dnipro River, including at Kherson city, in the south.

Putin has focused his "fire and ire" on Ukraine's civilians by bombing more than a third of its energy system supplying power and water, but the strategy will not work, Blinken said, adding that NATO was also concerned by China's ties with Moscow.
The NATO allies offered on Wednesday to help nearby Moldova, Georgia and Bosnia, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said, adding they were all under pressure from Russia. (Read more)

- Lord God, we just continue to bind all destruction, schemes and plans of the enemy for a war all over the world and break its powers in the mighty name of Jesus. We loose your peace, your love, your joy and unity all across the world as we say “peace be still” to the waves! In Jesus name.

"And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end." (Matthew 24:6)

6. Flu continues to spread across the U.S., infecting millions, CDC reports - NBC News

The floodgates have opened on the flu, with millions of people across the U.S. reporting the illness and nearly 3,000 deaths from influenza since the beginning of October, according to the latest statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
With the start of the holiday season and large family gatherings, cases are expected to keep rising.

“We are likely to see an increase in the upcoming weeks,” Lynnette Brammer, an epidemiologist and team lead of CDC’s domestic influenza surveillance team, told NBC News.

So far this season, an estimated 6.2 million flu illnesses have been logged, according to the latest CDC data.Twelve of the influenza deaths occurred in children. (Read more)

7. Georgia Supreme Court Reinstates Abortion Ban So it Can Save Babies - Life News

The Georgia Supreme Court has reinstated the state’s abortion ban after a local judge blocked the heartbeat law that protects babies from abortions at 6 weeks when their heartbeats can be detected.

Earlier this month, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney sided with abortion advocates who falsely claimed the law violates the Georgia Constitution’s right to privacy and liberty by “forcing pregnancy and childbirth upon countless Georgians.”

The right to privacy regards government monitoring of citizens and has nothing to do with killing babies in abortions and the ban does not force anyone to give birth given the fact that any resident can practice abstinence or use contraception to prevent pregnancy. The abortion ban had been in effect since July after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade but the ruling today blocks the law from being enforced. (Read more)

- Heavenly Father, we thank You that You are sovereign over the governments of the earth. Thank You for the duty and privilege You have given us to be salt and light in our country. Help Your people in Georgia to THINK about the principles of Your kingdom, PRAY for Your will to be done, and then VOTE according to those godly principles. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

- “For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” (Ephesians 5:8)

8. House committee receives Donald Trump’s federal tax returns from IRS - CNN

The House Ways and Means Committee now has six years of Donald Trump’s federal tax returns, ending a yearslong pursuit by Democrats to dig into one of the former president’s most closely guarded personal details.

“Treasury has complied with last week’s court decision,” a Treasury spokesperson told CNN on Wednesday.

The spokesperson did not provide any additional information. Federal courts had decided the House could request six years of Trump’s returns, after the committee had requested them in 2019 and again in 2021, according to public court records.
The handover had been on hold, until the Supreme Court declined last week to intervene. Several judges, including Republican appointees, have found the House had power to request the returns from the IRS. (Read more)

- Lord God we pray that members of the House will not do anything rash or ungodly as an attempt to cause chaos and confusion before new leadership is established in January. Right now we bind all plots, schemes and plans of the enemy to destroy Donald Trump's plans from running again or from having a political future in the mighty name of Jesus amen.

- “In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.
For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire,
And the greedy man curses and spurns the Lord. The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him.
All his thoughts are, “There is no God.”

9. House Passes Bill Forcing Rail Unions Into Deal With Railroads - Daily Caller

The U.S. House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill Wednesday requiring railroad unions and companies adopt the provisions of an administration-brokered contract.

President Joe Biden called on Congress Monday to use its power under the Railway Labor Act to force railway unions and companies to adopt the provisions of a White House-sponsored deal, which grants workers a 24% raise from 2020 to 2024. Although eight of the 12 major rail unions have ratified the deal, members from the other four, including the roughly 28,000 engineers and train servicemen in the SMART Transport Division (SMART-TD), voted to reject it, with workers citing insufficient sick leave and frustration with attendance policies.

The bill now heads to the Senate after passing the House 290 to 137, with 211 Democrats and 79 Republicans voting in favor, and comes just 10 days before a negotiations deadline of Dec. 9, after which unions could strike. (Read more)

- Lord God, we do thank You that this situation with the railroad workers has been resolved in the House, and we ask that this legislation will next pass in the Senate, so that the needs of these workers can be met. Thank You, Lord, amen and amen.

- "And my God will supply
all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:19)

10. McCarthy's math problem - AXIOS

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) met on Tuesday with key members of his conference — including several right-wing detractors — as part of an intensifying effort to cobble together the votes he needs to become speaker.

The meeting on Tuesday included GOP leaders, caucus chairs representing a cross-section of House Republicans, and at least a half-dozen members of the Freedom Caucus (a mixture of McCarthy supporters, opponents and undecideds).

  • The topic of discussion was GOP conference rules, which are set to be voted on on Wednesday. Freedom Caucus members are demanding changes that would give rank-and-file members greater influence.

- Father God, we simply ask that Your choice be revealed to lead the House of
Representatives as their Speaker in the 118th Sessoin of Congress. Let Your will be done, O Lord, we pray, amen and amen.

Stupidocrisy: The Growing Apostasy

The Daily Jot, Bill Wilson, November 30, 2022

For the first time in history, those who said they were “Christian” in the most recent census of the United Kingdom and Wales has dropped to 46.2% of the population. It means that some 6.2 million people have walked away from Christianity in the past decade, down from 59.3% in the previous census. Hindus increased by 636,000; Sikhs increased by 101,000; Islam increased by 1.2 million; and Judaism increased by 6,000. Christianity was the only religion that decreased, nosediving by the millions. The 6.2 million that left Christianity didn’t necessarily choose another religion. The gains in other religions combined only totaled 1.943 million. The fastest growing religion in the UK and Wales is “no religion.”

Those who said they were “no religion” grew by 8.1 million to 37.2% of the UK and Wales population. In other words, Christianity not only lost 6.2 million people in the last decade, but nearly an additional two million have decided they are “no religion.” While Christianity is still the majority religion in the UK and Wales, it is losing ground at an alarming rate. These are not just statistics, they are souls. Once a nation that sought to evangelize the world and the religious leaders were so powerful that they essentially ran the government, now are in rapid decline. Nearly 40% of the population is choosing no religion at all, signaling a great failure of the “church.” Read More

Hakeem Jeffries elected to replace Pelosi as top House Democrat
Will usher in new generation of leadership

Democrats elected Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to lead the House caucus in the next Congress on Wednesday, ushering in a new generation of House leadership with Rep. Katherine Clark (D-MA) as the next minority whip and Rep. Pete Aguilar (D-CA) as House Democratic conference chairman.

The changing of the guard comes in the wake of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), 82, and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), 83, announcing their plans to step down from their leadership roles but remain in Congress next term.

House Democrats voted by acclamation to elect Aguilar, then moved to vote on Jeffries for minority leader, whom Democrats also elected by acclamation. A vote on Clark will follow shortly thereafter. All three ran unopposed.

Jeffries, 52, is set to make history as the first black lawmaker elected to be leader of a party in Congress. The New York Democrat has been described by multiple of his colleagues as someone able to serve as a bridge between generations and between progressives and centrists in the caucus. (Washington Examiner) Read more.

- Father God, we ask for a new move of the Spirit to fall upon this new generation of leadership, so that their policy decisions would honor You and not man. May this be a new beginning for the Democratic Party! We are asking for this miracle, in Your Name, amen!

Kari Lake Doesn’t Concede After Maricopa County Certifies Results

Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake did not concede on Monday after Maricopa County certified its election results in favor of Democrat Katie Hobbs and said she is “firmly in this fight.”

“I want you to know that I am firmly in this fight with you,” Lake said in a video released on Twitter shortly after the election results were certified in Arizona’s most populous county. “Maricopa County just couldn’t wait to certify their botched election,” she said.

Citing issues reported by Maricopa County officials and voters on Nov. 8, Lake then said that “Election Day voting centers were inoperable” and said that “Arizonans were expected to wait in line two, three, four, even five hours” to cast a ballot.

Lake, a former television news anchor backed by former President Donald Trump, said that she is currently working with lawyers on a legal case to challenge the election in Maricopa County. It came after her team filed a lawsuit last week against officials there.

“State statute requires certification before our case can move forward,” Lake asserted. “You know how hard I worked on the campaign trail leading our movement to bring common sense solutions to our problems. I am taking that same work ethic and using it behind the scenes right now, building a strong legal case.” (Epoch Times) Read more.

- Lord God, we thank You for the courage now being demonstrated by Kari Lake. We ask that Your perfect will to be done in this matter, so that righteousness would rule in the State of Arizona in this race for governor. In Your Name, amen and amen.

Welcome to The Red House

By Frank Gaffney
Center for Security Policy

This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

The White House has long symbolized executive power in the United States. In South Korea, it is the Blue House.

Given the policies of Joe Biden’s administration and the Marxist revolutionary ideology that drives them, it would be more accurate to describe the building he occupies on Pennsylvania Avenue as “The Red House.” Remember, just two months ago, he similarly transformed Independence Hall as the backdrop for a speech defaming half the country as “enemies of the state.”

Two recent actions show Joe Biden’s true colors. He has effectively ignored the massive popular uprising against the Chinese Communist Party that murderously oppresses its own people and seeks to do the same to ours. And Team Biden has provided life-support to the Communist regime in Venezuela by greenlighting production and purchases of its oil.

With a leader like Joe Biden, who needs enemies?

This is Frank Gaffney.

New aerial video captures eruption of world’s largest
active volcano, Mauna Loa, in Hawaii
Anew aerial video shows the eruption of Hawaii's Mauna Loa volcano, which began late Sunday after a series of large earthquakes, officials said.

The video, captured by helicopter, shows the volcano spewing fountains of lava, which stretch across its surface, as clouds of smoke rise above.

The eruption, which marked the first since 1984, continued late Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said in its most recent update, which added that the largest lava fountains on the volcano were up to 131 - 164 feet tall.

Officials earlier said the lava flows were “contained within the summit area and are not threatening downslope communities.”

"No property is at risk currently," the most recent update said.

Officials have prepared, though, to close a portion of the nearby Daniel K. Inouye Highway if lava approaches the area, which would have a major impact on local infrastructure, NBC affiliate KHNL of Hawaii reported. The lava flow earlier cut off access to a key climate monitoring station, according to KHNL. Read More

'I'm Here as an Ambassador of Jesus Christ':
Green Beret Brings Training, Supplies,               and The Gospel to Ukraine
KHERSON, UKRAINE – Sergeant First Class Christian Hickey is a former Marine who went on to join the Army as an elite Special Forces Green Beret. When war broke out in Ukraine, Hickey felt he had to do something. But fighting wasn't part of his calling. "I wasn't called here to shed any blood. I was just called here to tell people about the blood that was shed for them a long time ago," Hickey told CBN News. That calling led to concern from his superiors over a US National Guardsman working in Ukraine. Nevertheless, God opened the doors for him to go. "I am not here representing the United States Military. I'm not here representing my command I'm not here representing the National Guard. I'm here as an ambassador of Jesus Christ, and that's exactly what I'm doing here. As a missionary in Ukraine," he said.

After he arrived, he found the Ukrainian troops in desperate need. "These guys don't have medics. They have like one medic on a line of over 100-150 people. One person who is somewhat trained," Hickey said. "I stepped into their training facility and they saw me and they knew exactly that this guy is different. And they ran up to me and said, 'can you help us?'" Seven months ago these soldiers were bakers, bus drivers, and lawyers. Hickey taught them the skills they needed to be able to stabilize their wounded brothers. "To help get them to a higher level of care. That's mostly what I like to deal with. It's like 'hey, here's how to save a brother's life,' or 'here's how to stay alive if you are injured,'" he said.

As the war grinds on, Hickey's mission is evolving to meet the need. Just days after the fall of Kherson, with the population running out of food, Hickey and his team brought a convoy of aid to the rescue. "We are switching gears a little bit. This winter is going to be absolutely tough for the Ukrainian people. There are going to be elderly folks, who I love and I respect, who are going to die because they froze to death inside their homes. And you know what, we're going to be here to deliver them food, deliver them firewood. We are going to be here throughout the winter," he said. "We want to basically be the hands and feet of Jesus," he continued. "These very strong powerful NGOs bought all this food, and they don't have the action arm to actually deliver it. We'll take the food and we'll make sure it gets to the right people at the right place at the right time." (CBN) Read More.
- Lord, thank You for strategically positioning Your people to bring hope to those in need! Place your hem of protection upon the Ukrainian people. May they witness to Your provision in their time of great need! Bless those who are Christ's "hands and feet" in Ukraine and direct them for Your Glory. In Jesus mighty name-Amen

- "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

It Came Upon a Midnight Clear

Words: Edmund Sears
Music:  Richard Willis

Scripture: There were…shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. Luke 2:8–9

Lyrics:
It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth,
To touch their harps of gold;
Peace on the earth, good will to men,
From Heaven’s all gracious king.
The world in solemn stillness lay,
To hear the angels sing.

Still through the cloven skies they come
With peaceful wings unfurled,
And still their heavenly music floats
O’er all the weary world;
Above its sad and lowly plains,
They bend on hovering wing,
And ever over its Babel sounds
The blessèd angels sing.

Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long;
Beneath the angel strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not
The love-song which they bring;
O hush the noise, ye men of strife
And hear the angels sing.

And ye, beneath life’s crushing load,
Whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing way
With painful steps and slow,
Look now! for glad and golden hours
Come swiftly on the wing.
O rest beside the weary road,
And hear the angels sing!

For lo! the days are hastening on,
By prophet-bards foretold,
When with the ever circling years
Comes round the age of gold;
When peace shall over all the earth
Its ancient splendors fling,
And the whole world send back the song
Which now the angels sing.
